Hello!

We're glad to present several new releases!

The album "Palustre Genesis" by Melodie Des Vergessens was planned for release on Zhelezobeton long time ago. Unfortunately these plans couldn't be realized during the lifetime of the author, who left this world in this January... However we haven't forgot about our agreement and we're releasing this album now in memory of the musician.

Audiophile fetishism and lo-fi aesthetics - these contradictions combine in a split-release by Russian projects Hum and Kryptogen Rundfunk "Wolf's Fluid / Daytrip Express" made in a form of a lathe cut 7" record with stylish artwork.

Remember, last year together with kultFRONT label we made a compilation album "Now It's Dark" dedicated to David Lynch? It was sold-out within a year, so now the time has come to continue this story. Many Russian musicians from experimental and dark techno scenes made remixes on the original tracks from this tribute, best of them were included in the new double-CD compilation "The Owls Are Not What They Seem" - 2.5 hours of top-quality darkness in contemplative and even danceable forms!

Along with the release of the new compilation we decided to make a small reprint of the original "Now It's Dark" CD. 100 copies in 6-panel digipak specially for those who missed the first edition.

In addition to new releases, there are also reinforcements of the distro catalogue from the labels Wrotycz Records, Vegvisir Music, Ostroga / Heart-Shaped Box Prod. / Torga Amun, Aquarellist, Indiestate Distribution, Fronte Nordico, new CD by Bad Sector "Quaternion" (Alone At Last), and some more...

More interesting news! Our good friend, musical journalist Dmitriy Vasilyev, the man behind Monochrome Vision label and Independent Electronic Music zines & podcasting series, has published a big encyclopedia of the Italian experimental music "Viva Italia". The book tells about the artists and labels appeared in Italy during the recent 60 years and comes with a 4-CD compilation with the exclusive pieces by many Iitalian artists, provided specially for this project and never released before. More info about this project is here - http://vivaitalia.xyz. We're now taking pre-orders for this book among our Russian audience. The price is €100 (without postage) and the books will arrive here in mid-August. The book is written in Russian language, but if you still would like to purchase this unique edition, just drop us a line!

Fresh mix with the selected tracks from this update is here: https://www.mixcloud.com/Kryptogen/zhelezobeton-mix-9-july-2017 (also available for download).

That's it for now!

Best vibes,
M.M.

Melodie Des Vergessens: facebook

Melodie Des Vergessens was formed by Igor 'The Ghost' Tumanniy in 2012 in Volgograd, Russia, and the idea of the project was based on the processed sound of a live accordion. With this instrument Igor recorded several experimental dark ambient albums notable for particular surrealistic sound and detached atmosphere of loneliness. The project ceased its existence in January 2017 with the death of the author.

The accordion is not the most convenient instrument to carry but Igor recorded the material for this work in summer 2015 alone with nature, in thickets of forests and swamps, while later working on it in his mobile studio. This resulted in six dissociative dark ambient compositions in which abstract textures morph into harmonic consonances, get overgrown by viscous layers of electronic processings and turn into rhythmic patterns created from looped acoustic noises. Often one can hear the characteristic timbre of the instrument, but sometimes it transforms into something chemically otherworldly as if coming from another dimension. Here one can feel the subtle personal moments when one's left alone with himself, surrounded by dark woods and looking in the abysmal mirror of infinity.

The recording was originally published in 2016 as a web-release by Eternal Return Records, but for this reissue the author considered making new mastering to fully reveal all the details of sound. Mastering was done by Ralax @ Coiled Ear Studio. This edition is made on quality pro-CDRs, packed in designer cardboard sleeves and limited to 77 numbered copies. Digital version is available on bandcamp.

Hum: soundcloud
Kryptogen Rundfunk: website | soundcloud | bandcamp | VK | facebook

Two Russian projects reworking each other's materials. Hum uses the archive live recordings of Kryptogen Rundfunk's gig from 2006, made on a dictaphone with jammed tape. The result is a viscous boiling mass of sound of an unidentified origin... In return, Kryptogen Rundfunk creates an audio collage from old tape field recordings made by Hum, providing an eventful track with a plot leading nowhere...

The artwork is made in the style of neat lo-fi fetishism. A lathe-cut 7" record with mono sound, covers made of translucent paper, an insert with information and download code. Numbered edition of 33 copies. Digital version is also available on bandcamp.

"The Owls Are Not What They Seem: David Lynch Tribute Remixes" is the continuation of the project "Now It's Dark: David Lynch Tribute" dedicated to the work of the filmmaker and musician David Lynch. The new release contains a double-CD collection of remixes of original compositions included in the first album.

Like on the previous disc, new remixed versions were created by the musicians from different directions of the Russian dark scene: from ambient, noise and pure experimentalism to sharp rhythmic dark techno and post-industrial. The participants are: Arcuation, Regulär, Uhushuhu, Notum, Wunderblock, Neznamo, Sal Solaris, Mortart, Bionoid, Light Collapse, Reutoff, Mira Drevo, Riddika, Svetlo111, Alex Schultz, Lokodepo, Majdanek Waltz, Relic Radiation, Zima23, Lunar Abyss, Kshatriy.

Each disc starts with a special "intro" written by the St. Petersburg-based project Anthesteria and the theremin player Peter Theremin - the great-grandson of the famous inventor who continues the popularization of his ancestor's instrument.

Overall sound mastering was done by Arnold_pR (Reutoff). Artwork features images created by Barrett Biggers (barrettbiggers.com). The edition is limited to 300 copies.

"Now It's Dark: David Lynch Tribute" is an album made by Russian experimental sound artists dedicated to the famous film director and musician David Lynch, and produced by the kultFRONT label with the support of Zhelezobeton Distribution Division.

The idea of a tribute to Lynch first appeared when Sal Solaris recorded the track "With Me" for "The Black Square" compilation (KF-VI, 2006), using samples from the movie "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me". The digital EP "Lynch" featuring compositions by Tsaraas, DMT and Bardoseneticcube (KF-XVII, 2012) followed several years later but only now the time has come for a full-length album.

Eleven projects from the Russian dark underground scene have presented their own visions of the mysterious and meditative atmospheres pervading the works of the American tenebrous genius: Reutoff, Light Collapse, Dvory, Skripp, Wunderblock, Relic Radiation, Kryptogen Rundfunk, Sal Solaris, Arcuation, Povarovo and DMT.

Overall sound mastering was done by Arnold_pR (Reutoff). Artwork of the 6-panel digipak features a fragment of the painting "Special Agent Gorgon Cole" by Chris Mars. The original 2016 edition was limited to 200 copies and quickly sold out. Second edition is released along with the double-CD of remixes "The Owls Are Not What They Seem: David Lynch Tribute Remixes" and limited to a hundred of numbered copies.

2015/2017 Ostroga, OTR-077, (ltd. 50)
Serene, calmly gleaming Psychedelic Drone Ambient / Amorphous New Age, pierced by the feeling of what Stanislav Grof calls oceanic or Apollonian ecstasy - the deepest peace, quiet radiant joy and satisfaction, unity with nature and cosmic order. Allerseelen -- "Dunkelgraue Lieder" -- CD -- €13
2017 Aorta, AORCD 19 / Indiestate Distribution, IST 092 CD, (ltd. 300)
Allerseelen, after their CD Terra Incognita (2014) and three reissues of early Allerseelen cassettes (Requiem, Schwartzer Rab, Autdaruta) are back with the CD Dunkelgraue Lieder. This is the deeply reworked version of the eponymous Allerseelen album Sturmlieder released first time back in 1996. Now, 21 years later, Gerhard Hallstatt has returned to his classic masterpiece and he’s offering us the new look on this great work... Dunkelgraue Lieder contains all the songs from the first Sturmlieder incarnation in shortened digitally remastered versions as well as 7 tracks which didn’t appear on the original release. The original tracks with their “sturm und drang” attitude have been placed in the middle of the new album wrapped in the new ones which are more philosophical, melancholic and permeated with sad beauty. Sonically they are also more into krautpop/neofolk sounding of todays Allerseelen making a contrast to harsh and abrasive tunes from mid 90-es. As a result we have a very interesting reminiscence of the past with a kind of a comment from the present, some wise and soft look back on one’s young spiritual nietzschean extremities... Some of the new tracks have been inspired by US black/folk/post metal band Agalloch which has a close spiritual connection with Allerseelen. Album’s precious artwork is based on the photos Gerhard made in 2010 in Oregon when he first met Agalloch at the same time as Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajökull had its apocalyptic eruption. The same time some new tracks included in this new album has been composed and recorded using loops from Agalloch songs... Melting old and new stages of Gerhard’s creative path Dunkelgraue Lieder would be a perfect work both for old Allerseelen fans and for younger audience who have probably never heard its 90es era music. Something to discover, something to look back – a perfect gem in everyone’s collection, very recommended. [label info]

Allerseelen -- "Fruhgeschichte II - Requiem" -- CD -- €13
2015 Aorta, AORCD 17 / Ahnstern, Ahnstern 54, (ltd. 300)
The second in the series of early Allerseelen soundworks re-issues. One of the most mystical, dark and obscure release of the series exploring Death, Life and their relations and intersurroundings. Being close to the first volume “Schwarzer Rab”, it's a bit more varied and complex. [label info] All the tracks are extremely stark, striped-back and ultra bleak in their slurred ritual industrial feel. The linear notes talk about autumn tiredness, crypts and death, and that's exactly what the music here sounds like - it's grey, earthy, musty and dread filled rattling with ageless despair and timeless gloom. [www.musiquemachine.com]
[youtube]

Allerseelen -- "Terra Incognita" -- CD -- €13
2015 Aorta, AORCD 16 / Ahnstern, Ahnstern 53
The latest all-new studio album of ALLERSEELEN released in 2015. The distinctive Gerhard's Krautpop has been recorded as usual with a help of his comrades, this time they are John Haughm (Agalloch), Jörg B (Der Blutharsch, Amestigon, Graumahd), Daniel P. (Arnica) and Alexander Wieser (Hrefnesholt) as well as Robert Taylor (Changes) who did the vocals on one of the songs. Combining folk, industrial and even some metal elements this contradictory music of the album is catchy and driving, but at the same time melodic, beautiful and melancholic. And profound beneath which is the epigraph reminds of: "All art is at one surface and symbol. Those who go beneath the surface do so at their peril." (Oscar Wilde: Dorian Grey) [label info]

Eirikura -- "Reflection of a Higher Realm" -- CD -- €10
2017 Wrotycz Records, WRT 027
Neofolk / Neoclassic / Ethereal. Ēirikura is a musical multi-faceted venture, inspired by the coming of spring, in Prussian and Irish ancient lands. The forces of nature are contemplated, from the germination of existence, through the joys of innocent youth and fresh love that is everlasting, to the inevitable facing of decay and cessation, but with the promise of rebirth and resurrection through the never-ending cycle of nature. Ēirikura brings the listener on an entrancing journey, from start to finish. Using a phantasmagoria of radiant images of natural growth and decline, Ēirikura gently guides the listener to their spiritual gate, eventually to glide in a dreamlike state to higher realms... English, Prussian and Gaelige (Irish) are the languages interwoven, as Ēirikura creates a sense of mysterious timelessness. The varied enchanting soundscape of Ēirikura is created using familiar instruments: guitars, strings (violin, viola, cello), grand piano, flute, oboe, trumpet, drums, to more unconventional ones, such as bandura, zither, bowed psaltery, musical saw and various percussions... The eclectic sound created ranges in genre from neo-folk and neo-classical to ethereal and ambient. Complementing the instrumentals are many united voices of girls’ choir, solo singing and poetic recitals, blended together on ‘Reflection of a Higher Realm’ by Eirikura, to make it a unique auditory pleasure... Among the participants of Ēirikura there are members of Sunset Wings, Romowe Rikoito, Āustras Lāiwan and their friends from Prussia as well as poetess Johanna Doyle from Ireland. [press-release]

Forthcoming Fire -- "Siberian Summer" -- CD -- €12
2005 Ewers Tonkunst, HHE 007 CD, (ltd. 500)
This MCD from the pre-Von Thronstahl project contains 5 tracks. The first track, "William Lovell", has been released on the long sold out Hyperium compilation in 1992. Based on the early novel from Ludwig Tieck (1773-1853), a famous german romantic writer, it explores the embarrasment of the ambigous mind and delicately expresses the exhausted and unstable soul suffering. As one of the most romantic and fascinating composition of FF, we think it deserves to be released again as a brilliant in a crown of another perfect songs. "Siberian Summer", the title track, is charming ballad with russian lyrics sang by Rada Taratununa, comes in a version, different to the one included in the recent FF album "In Flammen". "Watching Rome Burn" is also released in a new version, less guitar-oriented and more electronic. "Velvet Little Lady", a nice dark-wave song of yearning and sadness, and "Licht eines erloschenen Sterns", an electronic cold meditative piece with post-apocalyptic mood, are previously unreleased. The overall result is a dark-folk/dark-wave record full of integrity and beauty. The edition comes in a special glossy package limited to 500 copies. Total playing time is 29 minutes. [label info]

Miel Noir -- "From The Ashes" -- CD -- €13
2015 Indiestate Distribution, IST 090 CD, (ltd. 300)
This is 6th release from MIEL NOIR, a sole project of Marcel P. and Dimo Dimov, the musicians usually known as contributors in different projects from German and Austrian neofolk/post-industrial scene such as Allerseelen, Sturmpercht, Svarrogh and many others (Gerhard Hallstatt of Allerseelen have even contributed two tracks here). This is very varied and multifaceted release, it combines a lot of genres, from darkwave, martial and a kind of EBM to dark jazz, neoclassic and industrial. But, it is not eclectic mix of this and that like one could expect but a very coherent and holistic piece instead. It is melodic, exciting and far from being pretentious. The release comes in a jewel box including 8 page full colour booklet with honey-dedicated artwork. [label info]

Tzolk'in -- "Haab'" -- CD -- €11
2008 Ant-Zen, ACT210
Ritual Ambient / Industrial. The musical project Tzolk'in is a collaboration between Empusae and Flint Glass - artists who are known in the fields of dark ambient, contemporary ritualistic tribal music and experimental electronica. This project is a conceptual creation inspired by Mayan mythology and the ancient Mayan astrological calendar of the same name. From the beginning their approach to sound resulted in quite a few novel musical perspectives: the merging of Empusae's distinct dark, oppressive and brooding soundscapes and Flint Glass's characteristic rhythmic and ambient compositions (which are seemingly subject to an almost alien purpose and theme). The final product is majestic and epic, often martial and bellicose, with a sense of tragedy that at times is even quite meditative. Tzolk'in can easily be viewed as an exotic soundtrack to the phantoms of a dead civilization or more simply put, music that is inspired by a doomed mayan divination system... On their first self-titled release, Empusae and Flint Glass chose eight periods of the tzolk'in calendar and on Haab' they describe eight periods of the Mayan solar year. Ceremonious, deep tones merge with the power and strength of industrial music - kept together by elaborate impulsive ritual rhythms that enhance the atmosphere of a flourishing culture. An abyssal, haunting cycle of tribal sound, constructed so that the listener can dive into a bygone era. Packaging: gatefold-sleeve special black cardboard w/ golden print. [label info]

Vromb -- "Emission Pilote" -- CD -- €10
2000 Ant-Zen, ACT108
Rhythmic Ambient / Experimental Electronics. New five track release by Vromb. Oscillating, minimalistic frequencies, rotating sequences and bubbling technoid sounds describe Vromb's special and unique repetitiveness and grant a preview of things to come. Note: this is not an album, at the most a few elements extracted here and there from work intended for a future album called 'Episodes". In this work, there is a bifurcation on the sound results of the moment or in the randomness obtained through the steps of transformation of certain usable or non-usable versions. Here is, in part, and with a certain similarity, either through the sounds, or through the sequences. A pre-episodic ensemble, a mutant alteration of the album in question. Nevertheless the important suspense creating factor is always imminent. Despite the undeniable magic of monotony there is as well the soundtrack-like, dark science fiction atmosphere contributing immensely to taking the listener on a industrial, futuristic trance trip he / she will never forget. Needless to say that Vromb soundcarriers can be found on playlists of innovative underground (techno) dj's. Furthermore there's growing acceptance in Vromb's work having composed score-like tracks for local film documentaries and tv specials as well as having contributed various sequences of music for underground movies already. Welcome to 'Emission Pilote' - after 'Transmodulation A.M.P.', 'Le Facteur Humain' and 'Périmètre' a further step ahead in Vromb's history, a mature and intelligent work preferably for home use. But decide yourself... [label info]

Neofolk / Martial. Fronte Nordico is proud to present its compilation of one of the best Russian neofolk bands. Ritual Front was formed in late 2002 in St. Petersburg, when the founders of the project, Michael A. and Roric, decided to bring their interest in history, metaphysics, religion and ancient beliefs into Music. Released in 2003, the mini CD-R "Two Lightnings" became the first release in Russia produced in neofolk and martial style. In time, following certain critics, the style of the musical duo in which lyrics played the dominant part acquired its name as Combat Folk. The band had a series of successful concerts, released two full albums and participated in several international compilations. In 2008, releasing the album "Strahlungen" and giving performance as headliner at Crivia Aeterna festival, the band broke up. @C -- "0° - 100°" -- CD -- €8
2010 Monochrome Vision, mv31, (ltd. 500)
The new album of this portuguese duo (consisting of Cronica label owner Miguel Carvalhais and Pedro Tudela) is the long electroacoustic composition, which demonstrates the full range of soundprocessing diversity and creates the stunning images of great potential... Pedro Tudela (1962) and Miguel Carvalhais (1974) collaborate as @C since 2000, developing their work along three complementary approaches to sound art and digital music: procedural composition, concre`te sound and improvisation, with one foot in the fields of experimental, contemporary sound art and the other on live performance (where they also regularly collaborate with the Austrian artist Lia, performing as an audiovisual trio)... "77" started to take form in early 2007 and was developed until late 2009. Many of the sounds in this composition were created for the soundtrack of an installation by Lia and Carvalhais, dealing with concepts as liquid motion, flow, turbulence, percolation and phase transitions, which inspired the creation of several sound files sorted in three different groups, one for each section of the installation. During the process we had the chance to spend some time in the Atlantic island of Sa~o Miguel, where we made several recordings of the ocean, rivers, streams and volcanic furnaces, that complemented the remaining sounds. The installation soundtrack was devised as an open and modular composition, to be dynamically recomposed, as a library of sound files that we later used, transformed and shaped as "77". Three work in progress versions of this composition were presented live, in 4-channel mixes: in December 2008 in Porto, in May 2009 in Barcelona, and finally in October 2009 in Perugia, the first two in acousmatic setups, the later with Lia's live visual work. All these presentations shaped and shifted the piece to its final form, presented in this release, indexed in 8 movements to be listened sequentially. [press-release]

Ad Lux Tenebrae -- "Call of the Wild" -- CD -- €10
2008 Vegvisir Music, o:002, (ltd. 963)
First full-length CD of Ad Lux Tenebrae (or K Svetu T'my - in Russian language), released after several split, collaboration and CDR editions. The disk contains two rituals, first was performed in the evening of Jan. 23rd, 2008, second - during the night on May 24-25th, 2004. Shamanic Dark / Drone Ambient of Ad Lux Tenebrae is the sound of the most ancient and deepest layers of existence, irrational and anti-rational, utterly alien to nowadays people, the manifestation of human side not distorted by the influence of "civilization" and "modern society". Message from the source where the essence of Nature and human flow together. Music from pre-times and out of time. The noise produced by humanoid organisms crawling about piles of metal and plastic, now completely drowns the call from the source of all living. Musicians of Ad Lux Tenebrae act as media, conductors that embody this signal, not bringing anything personal in the act of creation. In their rituals they use the original instruments like tambourine, self-made drums, tube, flutes and other untitled instruments made by themselves. Every ritual is put into a completed action only once, and will never be repeated in future... First ritual is intense and uneasy. A ritual of purifying from momentary things and merging with something that was rejected long time ago in blindness and stupidity. This is a wind tearing apart rotten meat of momentary and dissolving in an inexpressible glow from beyond. The storm of the first ritual gives place to pacification of the second one, but this calmness is illusive. Just like a pillow of moss in the middle of a forest looks so calm and safe, but it hides deadly depth of swamp pit underneath. Ghostly lights appearing in the very border of vision in short yet infinite moment of daybreak twilight, they lure inside the thicket warped in ghostly mist. The road of this music is tempting and frightening, what's gonna happen with the one following it?.. This CD is dedicated to the memory of Raven, a permanent member of the band, passed away in cold autumn of 2008. Rituals of "Ancestor's Call" were among the last recordings done with his participation. [press-release]

Allerseelen -- "Fruhgeschichte III - Autdaruta" -- CD -- €13
2016 Aorta, AORCD 18 / Indiestate Distribution, IST 091 CD, (ltd. 300)
The third in the series of early Allerseelen soundworks re-issues, this time it is dedicated to Greenland shaman Autdaruta and it has a very Northern mystical feel inside. The extensive use of loops Gerhard made with natural instruments such as kettledrums, violins and the others, have created some great ritual industrial album which reminds more of earliest Hybryds or Zoviet France works than the nowadays Allerseelen music, but still the unique and distinctive artistic nature of Gerhard is easily recognisable. A small masterpiece from the early 90-es, not to be missed! [label info]

Arcane Device -- "Devices 1987-2007" -- 2 CD -- €10
2007 Monochrome Vision, (mv18), (ltd. 500)
Anthology of rare and previously unreleased tracks by Arcane Device, recorded within the 20 years. It is divided into two parts. The first one consists of tracks from compilations issued by Subterranean Records, Tragic Figures, SFCR Tapes, and Generations Unlimited, but also unreleased material remastered and/or remixed in 2007. The second one is subtitled as "Feedback symphony" and based on various recordings, presented in four movements and finished in 2007. One more chance to approve the exceptional skills and compositional/technical talent of David Myers who can control the electrons by will, creating fantastic soundscapes. Arcane Device is the unique project of american graphic designer and musician David Myers, active between 1987 and 1995. His creative output is going beyond any categorization, because it's possible to re-arrange and demonstrate such many styles of modern music with only one thing that is feedback. This effect usually happens when you shortcut the input and output of any electric device. It's hard to believe but this almost uncontrolable beast became the driving force for Arcane Device music, armed by self-made bank of delays and filters. Looking like inward sound research, decorated with finest web of random processes and microvariations, it becames the peculiar feature. Endless circulation of electrons, never repeating routes and always having some chance for individual life inside of any macrostructure. [press-release]

Atomine Elektrine -- "Laniakea" -- CD -- €10
2015 Wrotycz Records, WRT 023
The word Laniakea means the immeasurable heaven: deep, spacious, dark and ostensibly emtpy but still full of energy, matter, structures and bright objects. The same words can be said about the sound on the new studio album by Atomine Elektrine. Further on, the 'Laniakea' album is also characterized by molecular reactions, eroding particles, nuclear fractals, diffused lightwaves and multiversed orbits. Old fashioned modular analogue electronic synthesis combined with modern digital processing is the gravitational focal point on 'Laniakea'. The tracks have mainly sequencer driven narratives with ambient layers of both classic retro styled elements and advanced processed novel sounds. The origin of the 'Laniakea' album is based on two fundamental occurrences: The definition of the galaxy supercluster Laniakea in 2014 and the decease of the Tangerine Dream mastermind Edgar Froese in 2015. 'Laniakea' is simply a homage to the vastness of space and a eulogy to the kosmische musik that appeared in the early 1970's. Three bonus tracks (sketches) are included on the CD version (duration 76 minutes) compared to the digital download album (duration 62 minutes). Comes in a 6-panel digipack with original art by Hypsis (hypsis.net). [label info]

Aulaukis is the alter ego of Aleks known for his project Sunset Wings. Using acoustic instruments, with some help of friends from Romowe Rikoito and Eirikura as well as guest musicians, he creates a contemplative ambient atmosphere from the intimate realm of his spirit, ideas and experiences. Austras Laiwan’s debut ‘Birds in Shells’ is dedicated to those people special and dearest to him, three birds who left their shells and made their last flaps toward the light in loneliness… Letters writ in water, memories of a fleeting life remained deep in the hearts of those who follow, of those who wait for their turn to be dissolved in eternity. Feathers and bones are scattered on hollow ground, seashells keep sighs of the ocean evaporated long ago… New rivers flow and fill the shores of new seas. A new dawn is coming... Digipack. Contemplatron & Shentz -- "Apocryphical Soundtrack for the Book of St. Lem His Master's Voice: Transmission Code" -- CD -- €10
2015 Wrotycz Records, WRT 025
"His Master's Voice" (original Polish title: "Glos Pana") is a science fiction novel by Stanislaw Lem, first published in 1968. It is a densely philosophical first-contact story about scientific efforts to decode, translate, and understand an extraterrestrial transmission. The novel can also be read as a critique of human intelligence and intentionality in the context of deciphering a message from outer space which forever eludes comprehension. Chaos is the primordial source that cosmically resounds in the microwave background radiation across the universe. To find sequences in this cacophonous confusion, to discover its principles and understand them, only to die holding on to a scrap of something much larger – this is what Lem's book as well as its apocryphal soundtrack are about. The abstract sound layers were created by two Polish artists from Contemplatron (dark ritual ambient) and Shentz (noise), and mastered by Peter Andersson (Raison d'être). Comes in 6 panel digipack. Coph Nia -- "The Dark Illuminati" -- CD -- €10
2007 Cold Meat Industry, cmi163
The Thelemic Warlord is back; and after years of silence and solitude Aldenon once again presents us with a true masterpiece - "The Dark Illuminati - A Celestial Tragedy in two acts". This is an epic saga of eight illuminating pieces trying to penetrate the core of the Darkest Light. Aldenon's characteristic growling coupled with Linus's bombastic drums and Karin's serene voice come together in a tapestry of ritualistic, penetrating and sinister ambiance. Included are three timeless classics in new and improved formats... Choirs, strings and intricate orchestrations bring about an unforgettable tale that won't leave any listener untouched; possibly giving rise to more questions, than it poses answers. So what is it? The Dark Illuminati - The Dark Enlightened.... A global elite attempting to enforce a world government? An organization controlling world affairs? The New World Order? Or a Secret Few, merely seeking to preserve the Dark Light....? Well... The Stage is set. The Music begins to play. But the Script has been lost. [press-release]

Hamnskifte -- "Fodzlepijnan" -- CD -- €10
2012 Myrkr, 1-2012, (ltd. 1000)
Black Metal | Folk | Drone Doom | Ambient. First record from a mysterious Swedish duo, whose sound is inspired by, according to the band themselves, Burzum, Earth, Skepticism, Nortt and Trollmann Av Ildtoppberg. But imagine those influences channeled into something more medieval sounding, and WAY more post rocky, a sort of droning medieval slowcore laid beneath softly buzzing metallic rumble and shimmer, and you'll get an idea of Hamnskifte's sound. This is drone and ultimately slow meditative Black Metal with hypnotic medieval folk melodies recorded with guitars, drums, bass, organ, bodhran drum, bells and some self-invented percussion instruments. Originally released to the world in the spring of 2010 by, now-defunct, American label Starlight Temple Society, as a limited edition of 125 copies. [label info]

These Midnight Sessions began within the Winter Solstice and the recordings continued during the 12 Nights of Yule in 2002. 'Blood Hymns' is a personal soundtrack to the search for Thule/Hyperborea. The Spirit's journey back to the lost homeland. A "musical diary" of the blood answering the Pull of Magnetic North's Most Northerly Midnight. Where one finds the 13th Hour. These Midnight Sessions began after 'A Frost Comes with the Wind' and should be considered the follow-up to that album. The largest line-up for a Harvest Rain album yet. Special preparations and work with the Chilean artist Juan Almarza Anwandter of Der Arbeiter without whom this album would not be. 'Blood Hymns' is for all those on the Path of A-MOR. Expect simply the best with this new collection of heathen folk music anthems... [press-release]

Herbst9 -- "The Gods Are Small Birds, But I Am The Falcon" -- CD -- €11
2008 Loki Foundation, LOKI 48The all new album of Herbst9 is a step further into the depths of the Assyrian and Asian mythologies, using authentic audio and visual fragments of sacrifices, lamentations, prayers and ancient rituals. The result is a deep labyrinth of sounds with meditative percussions, ghostly vocal fragments and singings which melts with detailed and multi-layered tones of various traditional instruments. All this is constructed around a core of dark and ongoing floating drones creating an atmosphere of true archaic music which has been developed by Herbst9 to perfection. This soundtrack is the secrecy from the deep and hidden places of the sacred earth transcending us beyond the real world to the inner realm of ourselves. The CD is presented in 6-panel digipack. Hum -- "Thunder Arrow" -- CD-R EP -- €9
2016 Sphogha
New 20-min. EP from the Russian project Hum with old material recorded in 1999-2001. Polyvox synthesizer, radio, damaged tapes - this EP sounds quite harsh and raw, but even in these rough electic loops one can feel this totally hypnotizing effect so typical for Hum.

Kratong -- "The Bees of Psychic Province" -- CD -- €10
2004 Wrotycz Records, WRT 001
KRATONG is a solo project of Jhonny, the guitarist of Romowe Rikoito (Prussia). All the nine tracks from "The Bees of Psychic Province" show us various musical inspiration of the artist. On this album you'll find song inspired by the middle ages, neo-folk music, ambient passages and even a rhytmic electro. Although the music is very complex every little sound created by the artist is neccesary here. Fomat: CD, A5 folding cover. [press-release]

Naevus -- "Truffles of Love" -- CD -- €10
1999/2008 Old Europa Cafe, OECD 105

Naevus’ playful self-released debut, "Truffles of Love" came out in 1999. Unavailable for several years, and much sought after by collectors, Naevus’ debut album is now reissued by Old Europa Cafe in newly re-mastered form, with significant sonic improvement on the original 1999 release. This re-issue also includes six bonus tracks dating from the same period. These tracks were previously only available on obscure compilations which were released in very limited quantities and are long-since deleted. The inclusion of this bonus material brings the running time of the CD to over 74 minutes and gives a complete picture of the early development of Naevus. The original artwork has been extensively overhauled and this edition is presented in digipak format and includes a 16 page booklet with lyrics to all tracks plus an essay on the band’s beginnings. Odolen'veter -- "Triptych" -- CD-R -- €10
2004 self-released, (ltd. 13)
Long-time defunct Russian project from the circles of Misery and Strely Peruna label... Quality-done handmade artwork. Very minimalistic and at the same time inconceivably obscure soundscape, absolutely sinister athmosphere. It starts wiht pulsating low-frequencies and finishes with rhythmic strikes cutting off the same hypnotizing word - "DEATH". It's hard to imagine music more appropriate to this phenomenon.

Radioson - a maze of wave networks of Moscow region. Fixation of human society reeking inside out with aural parabolas. Fragments of police frequencies and suicidal talks with one's one mirror reflection. Conspirological binaural strokes on the body of society flowing in metro. Sweaty antennas too tired to broadcast... Light Collapse - a picnic near an electrical substation with chattering cicadas. A radio that was forgotten on a garden table pours into the grass iridescence of pictures from previous lives and rings of silver stratospheric drone. Exit to the beginning... Red Painted Red -- "Hey Dum Dum" -- CD -- €10
2015 Wrotycz Records, WRT 022
‘Hey Dum Dum’ is both humbling and extraordinary. An album exploring the fragility of the human condition and purpose, conveyed through an original and arcane sound palette. This album continues to conjure Red Painted Red’s sinister sonic storms of elation and despair. Dark and raging, they command, torment and oppress… deconstructing, counterpointing and unraveling the twists and turns of compelling melodies. [label info] “(…) The half sung – half spoken and often whispering production of the vocals only accentuates the global content of the lyrics. It sounds a bit like there’s a ghost hanging over this work while at the same time it also reflects a real fragility. The sound is dark and minimal while often moving into a kind of cinematographic approach. A few more elements like gothic, (trip)-pop and even vague neo-classic ingredients can be noticed as well. The fine arrangements of guitar playing and electronic treatments are essential elements, which I especially like on “Late November”. One of the most accomplished songs “I’m No Johnny Cash” reveals cool electronic and somewhat space bleeps at one side and a neo-classic touch on the other side.(…)” [Elise Din, Side-Line Magazine]

Roma Amor -- "Femmina" -- CD -- €10
2009 Old Europa Cafe, OECD 122
Second album by this intriguing Italian Noir-Cabaret project. 10 songs that celebrate the feminine dark side in all its guises. Italian and dialect lyrics, mostly inspired by female figures of Mediterranean folklore, that deal with the most hidden, sombre, melancholic and romantic aspects of the feminine universe. The aged music of old Europa, with its tango, waltz and cabaret motives, is the soundtrack and the vocalist sounds like she’s putting a lot of wear and tear on her throat in order to render the mood of these combative, bad, scary, deep passionate women. Warm latin stuff for late night listening. [press-release]

Sala -- "En-Trance" -- CD -- €14
2005 Autarkeia, acd 008, (ltd. 500)
"En-trance" was recorded, but still wasn't released by the magic-practising artists almost a decade ago. This album compiles two lasting live-recorded tracks. Ritual pulsing, archaic sound of wind instruments, deep-dark ambient and surrealistic, unexpected music bends immersing the audience to the swirl of phantasmagoric moods. There are some movies classified as of the "noir" stylistics, the main feature of which is highly forcible and strong atmosphere. If the records also have the classification of the "noir", "En-trance" could be considered one of the most emphatic works of this style. Emotions generated by the "En-trance" music could be compared with the psychedelic atmosphere of the first albums of NWW, Hybryds. Interesting record and mystic ritual having sustained the challenge of social disregard during the years. [press-release]

Sunset Wings -- "Covering for Solace" -- CD -- €10
2009 Wrotycz Records, WRT 009, (ltd. 1000)
“Covering for Solace", a debut album of a Ko"nigsberg-based band "Sunset Wings", is a widely opened window to the world of neo-folk music. Inspired by pearls of English romantic poetry together with traditional ballads of the British isles and the art of Pre-Raphaelites as well, this album takes you to a marvelous journey in the land of children dreams, sweet sorrow and melancholy. Silver strings of acoustic guitars and tender violin, deep cello sounds and warm flute, harmonica, brilliant piano, brightly sparkling percussion and music-boxes create a golden setting for the gems of William Blake, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Rudyard Kipling, Thomas Lovell Beddoes.. Lulled by Kipling's "White Seal" and gentle MacManus' "Softly now the Burn is Rushing", you will be dipped into a sleep together with nature in Rossetti's "Proserpine", feel the inexpressible sorrow of the loss of a lover in his "Death-Parting" and John Gay's "Ballad". Falling leaves and snow cover the earth, waving trees speak with a breeze.. Would the echo sigh Farewell? Whom should we pray now? And should we?... But nevertheless the flowers are dying, pure souls are on their path to the immortal light, and melancholy is perceived as a possibility to create a beauty around us. Despite the sorrow of lyrics the music of this album more often is rather bright and fulfilled with sweet nostalgic melancholy, it should bring solace and serenity to the tired hearts. "Covering for Solace" is a river of caressing tenderness, the river of enchanting melodies that flows "amid the beaming of love's stars" to the sea of Harmony under the eastern sky... With it's particular sound and temper, "Sunset Wings" will definitely take it's place among famous Russian dark-folk bands, such as "Neutral" and "Romowe Rikoito" (some of "Romowe Rikoito" musicians were invited to take part in this record). All the fans enchanted by the musical craft of Mr. Michael Cashmore won't be dissapointed as well... Comes in a 4 panel Digipack with 12 pages booklet including all the lyrics and charming paintings by Natalia Krutcina. [press-release]

Sunset Wings -- "Lifetime As A Child At Play" -- CD -- €10
2014 Wrotycz Records, WRT 020
Neofolk. "This album is a look deep inside through a chink in this magical door. It’s an attempt to pass this distant light through the prism of our present, and with that to see again those blazing shapes and transform them into a spectrum of variegated butterflies – letting them be strewn with neo-classical pieces, gentle songs, echoes of children voices – recollected images are nebulous but the colours stay invariably vivid. By plunging into these ethereal sounds it is hoped that you’ll find your own flitting blue moth emerging from your orchard far away from the present here and now..." [Aleks Aulaukis] The fourth album by Sunset Wings "Lifetime as a Child at Play" comes in a 6 panel digipack with beautiful artwork by Alexandra Shvedova.

Neofolk. With their third album Sunset Wings follow the line of making the musical setting for the ravishing poetry pearls of bygone ages. This time Night is the lady that covers the entire work with her starry mantle. Old hymns, lullabies and romantic visions shine through the darkness of her eyes... Raise your head to see the white mares of the moon rushing along the sky, open your ears to hear the ancient drums waking the spirit of Night! The torches burn and Pan leads a procession! Teatro Satanico -- "Black Magick Block" -- CD -- €14
2008 Steinklang Industries, SK 46
The new masterpiece from the black demons of electro-satanic Post-Industrial music!!! Black Magic Block is a very dense album, full of scary droning soundwalls combined with sublime and hypnotic rhythms. Devis DeV deviLs g., Kalamun and Faber intonate lyrics from Aleister Crowley and Austin Osman Spare with their totally mental voices, aided by Musique Concret - like compositions from DeviLs g. In fact, BMB is a very varied album, in some passages it could even be called the blackest Industrial-Pop album ever, with a strong touch of early Pan(a)sonic and Suicide. [label info]

Vromb -- "Episodes" -- CD -- €10
2001 Ant-Zen, act111
Musically 'Episodes' follows the path that Vromb started with 'Le Facteur Humain' and has continued developing during the last five years. The end result has been a hypnotising combination of dark, atmospheric soundscapes, rhythms and voices. Also with 'Episodes' you get the feeling that you are listening to a soundtrack that has yet to be done. Beware - this is not 'consumer ambient' you have to watch and to listen! Subliminal ambient-noise techno hypnotism. [label info]

Vromb / Telepherique -- "Paradigma" -- CD -- €10
Fario, Fario CD 07, (ltd. 700)
The Fario label was created in 1998 by the staff of the French magazine Fear Drop. The concept behind Fario is the meeting: collaborations between two artists. Each record shows two halves created separately and a common track (here: two), a moment to share views or to oppose feelings. All tracks are previously unreleased. As they had planned to meet for a long time, Canadian artist Hugo Girard alias Vromb and German outfit Telepherique were more than happy to work on Paradigma, maybe to consider their own paradigms. Vromb is a one man project which appeals to different electronic and industrial roots as well as imaginary landscapes of rusted and spinning rotors. Free from gravity, these strange rhythmic lifeforms born from disused factories and psycho scientists are like the perfect bunker soundtracks. Sometimes the bunkers change into rockets silos and Vromb feels then ready for a space program. Telepherique is family affair. Led by Klaus, Danijela & Rene Jochim, Telepherique is a pot of powerful forces, magma and images, rhythms and voices, melancholy and energy. Their music is one of the best and most beautiful extension of industrial music. Always moving, like a river, like air, it's rich enough to become a complete cinema. [label info]

Zlye Kukly -- "Strange Tomorrow" -- CD -- €5
2007 Ahnstern, Ahnstern26
After several private CDR releases, "Strange Tomorrow" is the first official album by this unique Russian Folk band, based in Jerusalem / Israel. Dreamingly beautiful, sad and at the same time weird and progressive Folk songs with a gentle early 70ies touch. The band uses a large variety of perfectly played acoustic instruments, as well as some fine electronic sounds. The powerful and empathetic (Russian) vocals from Fred Adra and his (background) singers give a very personal and unique touch to the music of Zlye Kukly. This band is really hard to compare to other artists; maybe some of their songs remind a bit to the folky Gae Bolg, the best balads of Boyd Rice, but mainly You can feel the spirit of the great early 70ies aera of Yugoslavian folk artists, such as Kladivo Konj in Voda, Svremena na Vreme, Drugi Nacin and others. This album will guide you through a strange theatre between the worlds... [label info]
