The new album is raw, brutal, sad – not a spark of hope beneath the layer of ashes, just the certainty of suffocating in the Darkness. Noisy voices from out of the afterlife, unredeemed shoutings, all words in german language which are difficult to understand due to electronic distortion. Only the accompanying text print deciphers and reveals poetry as touching as a funeral oration, and word collages with the fragile logic of a nightmare. Black spills out of the synthesisers in the form of oppressive wavemovements and threatening noise. Metal percussion that not only ornaments, but rather forms the heartbeat of this record, and so dehumanised, snaps, grinds and clacks or with merciless force crushes all matter to dust. HIP, VALERA -- "Mountain Of Fugitives" -- 2 CD -- €15

Ambient. In June 2013, our friends brought us an album by the man named Valery. More than 30 years ago (after 15 years of wandering), he settled in the distant Altai village - Zamulta and did not leave these places anymore. You cannot get there either by plane or by train, and you can only drive by car in summer and autumn. Valery is engaged in homemaking musical instruments like pipes, harps, flutes; he breeds bees and leads the household, which forms the basis of his life. With his minimal resources, he recorded an album that fell into our hands. The recordings united under the name " Mountain of fugitives" turned out to be hypnotic ambient compositions built on drawing lo-fi drones, pipes, harps, nature breathing, field recordings, sounds of the surrounding life and the author's voice, occasionally filling the space with references to ancient Chinese and Japanese poetry like Mèng Hàorán and Matsuo Bashō, as well as quotes from the Norwegian writer Hans Burley, or his own verses... Valerych discovered "ambient" for himself as the most suitable form for self-expression without regard to any standards. The serenity of nature, the simple tranquility of a secluded lifestyle, the purity of a self-contained existence and the tension of daily physical labor, all here in these sounds, in the originality, naturalness, and softness of the sounds, which literally disarm and necessitate to play the record over and over again... It took 5 years to prepare all the material for publication. In the meantime, the album has grown to a dilogy with a total duration of more than 150 minutes. Now its 2CD and eight long nameless tracks instead of four... Enjoy by pure rural ambient music. [label info]

Ambient / New Age. In 1978 Iasos has returned with a new album consisting of 2 long peaceful compositions “The Angels of Comfort” and “Angel Play”. These pieces are extremely soothing, heavenly, loving, and peaceful, and it captures the energies of love - on a galactic scale. It functions as a universal healing comforting presence... This genre of music could be termed "classical New Age music". The philosopher Alan Watts has said, "Iasos is doing the classical music of the New Age." This album is a "vibrational environment" of soothing loving angelic feelings - very nurturing and comforting... The music can be used for creating a sacred space, for meditating, body-work, visualization, hospice work, emotional healing, and for tuning into angels. It is well suited for relaxing the mind, body and spirit... When Iasos first released this album, it immediately became an underground classic, due to its universal appeal. Ambient / New Age. Iasos is a Music Creator, specializing in celestial, heavenly, inter-dimensional music. He is also one of the original founders of "New Age" music. He was named "the Duke Ellington of New Age" and the "Creator of New Age" by the New York Times. His albums often appear in lists like “the list of 50 Best Ambient Albums of All Time” by Pitchfork, “The 20 best new age albums“ by Facmag, to name just a few... Since 1968 Iasos has remained focused and dedicated to his original intention - composing and recording his music, giving seminars, and doing multi-media concerts around the world. His music has been used by NASA, LAZARIS, ENCYCLOPEDIA BRITANNICA, LASERIUM, and HEWLETT PACKARD, as well as by numerous hospitals, health clinics, therapists, mental health clinics, and surgeons throughout the world... Despite this, we found that some of Iasos’s masterpieces are criminally rare and hard to get on physical formats. In 2019 during discussions with Iasos, we have chosen 3 albums for the first part of the reissues of Iasos's music on the Fact of Being on vinyl and audio CD... Drone / Industrial. IFP's next step in re-publishing albums by drone-ambient heroes Maeror Tri. Obviously it would be redundant to introduce this legendary trio to you yet again. Over the seven years of its existence, they have recorded genre-defining material that has lost none of its relevance even after more than a quarter of a century... We are pleased to announce "The Beauty of Sadness" - one of the band's most striking albums. An emotional, melancholy, sentimental, melodic drone ambient album, which can be considered a classic of the genre on a par with "Myein". You will search in vain for industrial or noise elements, as featured on the group's more heavy releases, herein the eponymous beauty and sadness reign supreme. This release comes highly recommended for any listener with only a passing interest in Drone-music, be it guitar- and electronic-based... Ambient / Drone. IFP happy to announce one of the most important ambient reissues on the year, a pure gem of early ambient music... Michael Stearns is a multi-genre music composer and soundtrack designer/producer. His credits include music for Ron Fricke's non-verbal 70MM films "Chronos", "Baraka" and "Samsara", music for NASA, Laserium, Disney films, HBO, ABC, PBS, BBC, Discovery Channel and James Cameron's "The Abyss", "Titanic" and "Avatar". Michael works in his studio "The Guest House", in Santa Fe, New Mexico... In 1975, Michael moved from Tucson to Los Angeles to study with Emilie Conrad at the Continuum Studio. Emilie had ‘live’ music for her ‘movement meditation’ classes, and Michael began performing with Fred Stofflet, Gary David, and Don Preston. Ancient Leaves (25:43) was Michael’s first album, recorded in 1976/77 with a Mini Moog synthesizer and a Finish lap harp (Kantele) onto 4 track tape. To the other instruments, Michael added Emilie chanting, an ascending choir with Susan Harper and Linda Olsen vocalists, Gregorian Chants and a night ambience recorded in the desert outside of Tucson, Arizona, his hometown. It was initially released on LP and cassette... The ‘B’ side, Elysian E (23:13) was performed with an Arp String Ensemble played through an MXR digital delay, one of the first then slowed to half speed. A solo project by Daniel Segerstad who in 1996 together with Johannes Hedberg founded legendary ambient/downtempo project CARBON BASED LIFEFORMS. Released as a digital album in 2012, "Ambient Archive" represented branded gently psychedelic electronics with slow-moving melodies and soft hypnotic beats. 16 tracks, more than 75minutes of exclusive tracks recorded during the early years of the project 1996-2002. From his very first appearance the Tempted Dissident (Te/DIS) has been blessed with a distinctive style; with every new publication this has been further developed, but very wisely never broken away from. Therefore we find also on the new Te/DIS album clear, direct elektroniks with no effects lash-ups. In combination with the characteristic voice, once again wonderful ear-catching pieces evolve, carrying the DNA of early Synth-Pop, which still had an inherent pleasant roughness and which can also be found here. Phantom Light, Hidden in Plain Sight, or Where Demons Live are worthy of mention. However with Te/DIS’ third album we also discover an expansion into darker spheres – more muted sound, more noise, more reduction, more pain: alienation from other people, the own existence not perceptible, submerging. Ritual / Industrial. Zero Kama was an experimental music project founded by Zoe DeWitt in 1983. The first release of Zero Kama was the title V.V.V.V.V., recorded for the Nekrophile Rekords cassette compilation "The Beast 666". In 1984 followed the cassette release of the album "The Secret Eye of L.A.Y.L.A.H.", which is commonly regarded as one of the key albums of the industrial-subgenre 'ritual'. The fact that all instruments used for this recording were exclusively made from human bones and skulls, its elusive musical style, the implied occult symbolism as well as the short-time existence of Zero Kama, whose backgrounds remained unknown for a long time, have been contributing to the cult status of this project until now... Following an invitation of the NL-Centrum Amsterdam, Zero Kama played two live concerts in the Netherlands in 1985, and - after two more releases on the Nekrophile compilation "The Archangels of Sex Rule the Destruction of the Regime" - completely withdrew from the public. While "The Secret Eye of L.A.Y.L.A.H."" was recorded solely by Zoe DeWitt, the later live performances were realized with befriended musicians such as Didi Neidhart and Muki Pakesch, whom Zoe DeWitt knew from the Austrian music underground of the 1980s... Since that time there have been a couple of re-releases of Zero Kama recordings, amongst others the 1988 vinyl version by the French label Permis de Construire, followed by the CD release in 1991. In 2001 the French label Athanor published "The Goatherd and the Beast", a 10" vinyl containing tracks from various compilations that were recorded besides "The Secret Eye of L.A.Y.L.A.H." This collection was also included as a bonus CD in the "Live in Armhem" double CD release by Athanor in 2008. In 2014 Athanor finally published a remastered version of "The Secret Eye of L.A.Y.L.A.H." as both vinyl and CD... Infinite Fog Productions presents an anthology release of Zero Kama. The first time ever, everything recorded by the project released as one set on limited CD, VINYL and CASSETE. The first step into a realm of peace and love will be the long-awaited re-edition of "Music On The Way" to celebrate its 40th anniversary... "Music On The Way" was the artist's debut in 1980 and has not been reissued since its initial release. A mesmerising ambient recording with just a touch of early new-age music in its finest incarnation. This genre of music could be termed "classical New Age music". The philosopher Alan Watts has said, "Iasos is doing the classical music of the New Age." We recorded a session with the two of them, scraping, clanging, manipulating and twisting all sorts of electrical and non electrical stuff. The noise you hear on this tape is the glorious result... Black Faun is a free improv noise duo (Alex M & Charis) that started early 2000 based on brutal sound collage interactions and the inevitable stream of unconsciousness. Lots of banzai playing and weird live performances have built up a musical mutant entity that still changes shapes persistently... Folk / Rock / Jazz. The Gunesh Ensemble was founded in 1970 in Ashkhabad, Turkmen Soviet Socialist Republic, then part of the Soviet Union. They started out as a vocal group with supporting musicians from Turkmenistan State Radio and TV. Later several young musicians came to play with them and the band's music became much more modern. The group began to play jazz-rock tightly intertwined with traditional Oriental music. With that new musical style the band participated in some popular festivals around the Soviet Union. They received various awards and became very popular. Gunesh has always been in the process of developing and was one of the first and best local jazz-groups to organically combine the principles of jazz and melodic improvisation. The remarkably beautiful arrangements and polyrhythmic compositions were always further developed thematically. This process was highly praised at the Moscow competition With A Song On Life in 1977 where the ensemble became a prize-winner. The Organizing Committee of the Festival Spring Rhythms in Tbilisi (1980) called out members Rishad Shafi as best drummer and Stanislav Morozov as best saxophonist. This, their very fine first LP was originally released in 1980 on the Soviet state label Melodyja and contains traditional Central Asian music in jazz-rock arrangements plus a Vietnamese singer. Begotten by Grim Machine is a soundtrack libation to the powers of nature against human arrogance and stupidity. The source material comes from a 30-minutes-long live recording of a noise performance / video work, based on the film Begotten (1990) by E. Elias Mehrige, that took place at the 1st edition of KINO-BRUITISM festival in Athens, Greece in January 2018. Grim Machine is a free impro noise entity using sound as a magnetic stick to unearth relations between universal primitivism, coexistence rituals and outsider art impulse... HCN began as a project of sonic and philosophical exploration in the beginnings of 2017 in Athens. Its first public performance took place in January 2018 at the 1st Kino-Bruitism festival... "Metastases" was presented for the first time in the (Kino-Bruitism) Festival, in a version about 25 minutes long. This “studio” version lasts about 08:40 minutes. Industrial / Angst Pop. This is no typical Haus Arafna album. It has already celebrated its premiere in September 2009 as part of the New York Fashion Week. Haus Arafna had accepted the offer to create the soundtrack for a show featuring the fashion designer Katie Gallagher. Somewhat of an unusual venture into a new environment, and in front of a new audience, this was obviously an exciting challenge for creative artistes, and for “Industrialists”, considering the extreme style of expression, a very pleasurable experience. The emphasis laid on the various elements on this album is different to that of the earlier releases. That is why Haus Arafna has preferred to delay the issue of “New York Rhapsody” until after the release of the “official” album “You”. Angst-Synthesizer, raw electricity, metal percussion, artfully reduced electronic textures and unusual vocal performances combine into a “sound from the Abyss” with deep ritual undertones. No sign of “Screams’n’Shouts” here. Instead Haus Arafna has created Angst-Pop hits and Industrial Monsters with an extra dose of darkness, almost as if the March into Destruction has to be sweetened somewhat. Well-dressed, of course... Aleister Crowley's poems translated into Russian were first published in 2017 – the same year we release the album on which musicians inspired by his works create their sonic dedication. This album was created by Russian dark scene musicians who have never met before but have been following each other's activities for a long time – Majdanek Waltz and Denis Tretyakov... The latter professes his own religion which implies faith in a mole as an underground deity. Being the leader of two bands – "Tserkov' Detstva (Church of Childhood)" and "Bratya Tuluzovy (The Tuluzov Brothers)" – for the first time he acted as a reciter of poems. Majdanek Waltz from Ryazan' remembered their early musical experiments and primary sources of inspiration. Priceless support was granted by the secret musical project The Noktulians. The final black balance was masterfully adjusted by the member of Reutoff and Otzepenevshiye – ArSch aka Myrrman... Apart from all other obvious jubilees and important round dates, 2017 marks the 70-year anniversary of Aleister Crowley's death. This recording should close the gap of the jubilee list of the year. Instead of the always fashionable red stars better use this black digipak. Put it in windows, nail it to the front door, take it with you wherever you go. “I’ve reached the limits of my strength” said Amon Radek, and set off in search of a new life. There was to be no place for Maska Genetik, it was too much of a torture to justify those high standards he insisted on. We were astounded and couldn’t believe it, and so we held his album back for some considerable time. Perhaps he wanted urgently to replace one of the songs? An artist of course, has his sensibilities, and a Russian has an additional inbred melancholy. So let us not be too hasty. Over the years we have certainly fulfilled our role as inheritance trustees, and so now we present his first and probably last album. It is all the more regretful, because Maska Genetik represented a pinnacle in the history of Galakthorrö, for us and for many of our listeners. This is obviously the case with Strada. There are songs to be heard that were created before, and after, the sought-after Quarantine EP. Radek’s inner conflicts and his very real suffering have shaped his Angst Pop into its own unique form. Drone / Folk. The music sounds like a bunch of Russian monks in a monastery, slowly chanting, along with a low humming synthesizer. The title translates as 'round dance', but there is nothing much to dance too. The chanting, which stayed the same throughout the seven pieces, reminded me of the scene in 'Eyes Wide Shut', where Tom Cruise enters the quasi-religious sex party, but without the same sort of melodic synthesizers. With Volok the synthesizers are as dark and a minimal as the chanting. Even when some of this sounds very similar throughout, there is surely something quite captivating about these pieces. For the duration is was fine enough, not something to be heard all day; that would probably drive me crazy. [FdW, Vital Weekly]

ZOS KIA was formed by John Gosling (MEKON), John Balance (COIL) and Min – with guest appearance of Peter ‘Sleazy’ Christopherson (THROBBING GRISTLE). Their one and only long-play album 'Transparent' was released on August 23rd, 1983 on a cassette-only edition by the now-defunct Nekrophile label from Austria. These were the first released recordings of both COIL and ZOS KIA. It was reissued years later by COIL (Threshold House / Eskaton) in an edited edition. Later in 2017 the entire album was reissued on CD/vinyl via COLD SPRING RECORDS. Definitely "Transparent" is one of the most legendary and important industrial releases of all times. But besides "Transparent" ZOS KIA released 2 EP vinyls and recorded several tracks for compilations as well as about an hour of unreleased material which was found in John Gosling archives... Now the final and complete anthology of ZOS KIA recordings released under the title "23" on 2 CDs in deluxe digibook via INFINITE FOG PRODUCTIONS. 23 tracks, more than 2 hours of exciting material in various styles, сarefully extracted and prepared for publishing by John Gosling himself, and the artwork was done by Cold Graves. Well-known tracks in different forms, unknown, rare and unreleased compositions, and many more for the deep diving into the esoteric underground music from 80th...
