DMT "Ultimatum" is the second album in "Die Zeichen" series run by kultFRONT and ZHELEZOBETON labels. The first part was released in 2013 - Sal Solaris "Die Scherben 2004-2010". The new album is a tribute to Dmitriy Tolmatskiy who unexpectedly left us in 2009. Dmitriy was one of the few journalists who popularized the alternative culture in Russia. In late 90-ies he created the web portal RWCDAX and his famous "Industrial Culture Extended FAQ" which unveiled previously unknown layers of post-industrial art for many Russians.

"Ultimatum" shows the varied musical and stylistical planes of DMT. It mainly consists of compositions never officially released before, taken from CDRs which Dmitriy gave to his friends. There are also a few tracks from the compilations he had time to participate. Unfortunately not always were there notes and years of recordings. One track was digitized from an untitled audiocassette kept by the musician's friends in his native city of Saratov. The album provides a glimpse into various periods of DMT's sonic experiments from 1999 to 2008. It also features fragments of a live performance together with Alexei Borisov in St. Petersburg in December 2005.

For bandcamp users there is a bonus archive of three compositions. One remix by DMT of the Species Of Fishes track. One remix of DMT track by the Ghost Reflection project. And an extended version of the title track from the unreleased album "Cold Autumn in Belgrade" recorded in 2000.

The artwork is done by the famous visual artist and media philosopher Oleg 'cmart' Paschenko (http://humanimalien.ru | http://www.conclave.ru).

After the reissue of the eponymous debut Kshatriy album last year we're glad to present you his second work, recorded in 2006 and equally little known. Back then "Mushrooms..." was spread among friends and fans in a very limited number of copies and then remained unavailable for the wider audience for a long time.

As the author says, this album is a magical journey consisting of nine pieces which emerged from the intuitive contemplation of the most secret levels of consciousness dissolved in space. Those who are familiar with Kshatriy's sound will hear his trademark features, but overall this album sounds more experimental than his later works. Instead of dense flows of thick cosmic ambience space is filled with weird abstract forms and flickering electronic collages. Psychedelic atmosphere, psychoactive sound. Remastered by the author in 2015.

The physical release is made on quality pro-CDRs in an edition of 77 copies in a sleeve of designer black cardboard.

CDs & CD-Rs

Altieri, Corrado / Gianluca Favaron -- "Decomposed Days" -- CD -- €10
2014 13, sps1406, (ltd. 225)
"Decomposed Days" is the new collaborative effort by Corrado Altieri (Candor Chasma, Monosonik, Uncodified) and Gianluca Favaron (Ab'she, Under The Snow, Zbeen), two major artist in the experimental electronic scene. Released one year after "The System of Objects", a tribute to Jean Baudrillard, "Decomposed Days" relates to the possible connections between space, time and memory, making reference to imaginary movies as well as existing ones (like Peter Greenaway's "Vertical Features"). The album's five compositions are built with a crosspollination between musique concrete, abstract noise textures, radical computer music and techno splinters, leading to surreal territories. Altieri, Corrado / Gianluca Favaron -- "The System Of Objects" -- CD -- €10
2013 Silentes Minimal Editions, sme 1361, (ltd. 225)
Silentes presents a new collaborative effort between two prominent artists of Italy's electronic and experimental scene, Corrado Altieri (Candor Chasma, Monosonik, Uncodified) and Gianluca Favaron (ab'she, Under The Snow, Z'been). Inspired by Jean Baudrillard's essay of the same name, "The System of Objects" offers seven compositions combining field recordings, analogue textures, computer music and concrиte sounds. Altieri e Favaron dig deep in the unconscious of the french philosopher, devising a hypothetical music score of his manifesto on the relations between objects universe and consumer society ideologies: drones and digital pulses, processed tapes and multi-layered frequencies make for a voyage to the borders of ambient, noise and radical experiments. Argentum -- "Lucha Y Memoria" -- CD -- €14
2008 Label 56, 002, (ltd. 1000)
Rare and even banned for sale in some places mini-album of the cult Argentinian band. Powerful aggressive Martial Industrial with tracks dedicated to Corneliu Codreanu, Jose Antonio Primo de Rivera and total war! [YAOP]

Argentum -- "We Are The Fire" -- CD -- €12
2009 L. White Records, LW-054, (ltd. 200)
This Argentum album is the first exclusive pure power electronics work coming from Argentina. It sound is based in raw and harsh sounds with aggressive revolutionary lyrics. GGREY WOLVES, GREEN ARMY FRACTION and SEKTION B are their mainly influences. "We are the Fire" will give you 66 minutes to choose your side: "Wolf or Lamb", as one of the song titles say. The newest sonic terrorism to awake the consumist global citizens. [press-release]

Bad Sector -- "Cephus" -- CD -- €12
2015 Bad Sector, BS 01-2015
In this release M. Magrini left aside his more experimental vein creating a series of retro-modernist tunes using his usual tools joined with a little bit of acoustic drums and electric guitar. A set of surprisingly rhythmic and organic songs, supplemented with minimal and conceptual "lyrics". Made by mixing digital structures and analog warmth, this album is another weird planet in the (pretty large) universe of Bad Sector. [label info]

Becuzzi, Gianluca plays Limbo -- "Unholy Rituals I - III" -- 2 CD -- €12
2015 Silentes Minimal Editions, sme 1563
LIMBO, famous dark wave project from 80's and 90's years ceased to exist from a long time. Gianluca Becuzzi, in the 30° years anniversary from the birth of the band, releases Plays Limbo (Unholy Rituals I-III) - a double cd that includes a fine work of (de)mix from the tracks of the original records of Limbo, but totally subverting the sounds... the result is an inspired isolationistic album that draws in the deep. We're in dark lands, where electronics create symphonies that pull the listener in his own abyss. A work without compromise. [label info]

Bianchi, Maurizio -- "Armaghedon" -- CD -- €10
1984/2012 Officina Fonografica Italiana, OFI001, (ltd. 300)
On a mission to bring again the best works of the Italian Industrial acts of the 80s and 90s to the light, Officina Fonografica Italiana offers its first release in the form of a CD reissue of the historic "Armaghedon" by Maurizio Bianchi. Originally released on vinyl in 1984 by the author, this album has longly been his last work before his return to music in the late 90s. Conceived as a soundtrack for a movie by Bianchi himself - unfortunately never finished and now lost - "Armaghedon" is a cornerstone of his discography, a mature and refined album that highlights the spontaneity and immediacy of its essential sonorities. Heading beyond the boundaries of mere conventionality, the disc consists of a long suite divided in two parts where Maurizio Bianchi combines many artistic influences in his compositional style, taking us on a fascinating and difficult path full of noise and experimentation. Presented in an elegant digipack featuring a new artwork based on the original cover pictures and fully approved by the author, "Armaghedon" is the first in a series of reissues dedicated to the undisputed master of Italian Noise. Bianchi, Maurizio -- "The Plain Truth" -- CD -- €10
1983/2013 Officina Fonografica Italiana, OFI007
Presented in an elegant digipack featuring a new artwork based on the original cover pictures and fully approved by the author, "The Plain Truth" continues the series of reissues dedicated to the undisputed master of Italian Noise and Experimental Music. Officina Fonografica Italiana is particularly proud to introduce this title because it is one of the best entries in Maurizio Bianchi's ever-growing discography. Originally released in the U.K. as a 500 copies limited edition LP by Broken Flag in 1983, the album is a strong but very accessible work where Bianchi pays his homage to the German Cosmic Couriers of the Seventies. "Dedicated to all the redeemed people", "The Plain Truth" offers two long tracks of layered synthesized sounds treated with vintage effects that depart from his previous more aggressive works and is one of his earliest experiments in desolate and dark electronics. The title track is led by elaborate electronic textures that float above an intense soundscape, it has an absolute claustrophobic feeling, and is as creepy as mysterious. The rest of the album consists of more transcendent ghostly droning sequences with long and immersive synth lines. This "visceral" emotive music of the highest quality will appeal to fans of Tangerine Dream, Thomas Koner, Klaus Schulze, Lull, Cranioclast, etc. [label info]

Bjarnadottir, Hafdis -- "Sounds of Iceland" -- CD -- €14
2015 Gruenrekorder, 157, (ltd. 1000)
This recording takes you on a round trip of Iceland. The aural journey starts westward from the island’s south in the cold early spring. After a side trip into the West Fjords, our route traverses the north of the country at the height of summer, followed by an excursion into the interior highlands before a short stop in the East Fjords. As the sound trip nears its geographical starting point, autumn and winter make their appearance before the journey comes full circle. The recordings do not feature human-derived sounds. [label info]

Favaron, Gianluca -- "Equivalent XI" -- CD -- €10
2014 13, sps1405, (ltd. 200)
Following the publication of the extremely limited single-sided 12" record “Surfaces”, which occurred just a few months ago and is now hopelessly sold-out, Gianluca Favaron returns on 13 with a new solo work released in the prestigious "Private Sounds" series. Besides having published a few solo works, Favaron is part of Under The Snow along with Stefano Gentile and collaborates with Ennio Mazzon on the Zbeen project. In the past he has released music as Ab'she and was part of Lasik Surgery along with Pierpaolo Zoppo. Among his most recent releases we remember his collaboration with Corrado Altieri entitled "The System of Objects". "Equivalent XI" continues the path undertaken with "Surfaces", also benefiting from some excerpts that were already included in the aforementioned work, which are proposed again on this new CD. Starting from simple recordings of sounds produced by everyday objects (…such as paper, scissors, kitchen stuff etc.), treated mainly with two delay machines, Favaron has collected eleven compositions. The idea behind this new release is to create some patterns based on the repetition of small sound particles obtained from a single source. In the eleven tracks on the album, mostly of short duration, we witness the proliferation of particular sound events that, sometimes wandering alone or sometimes by congregating into small throbbing and vital lumps, generate a vibrant microcosm characterized by short loops, slowly but constantly evolving. In some cases, as for example in the more long-lasting closing number, the simplicity of the construct and the infinitesimal tonal progressions are appreciated for their intrinsic hypnotic quality. Mastered by Giuseppe Ielasi. [press-release]

The Legendary Pink Dots -- "Poppy Variations" -- CD -- €12
2004 Terminal Kaleidoscope, TEKA 15
Psychedelic experimental new wave. Digipak.

Macelleria Mobile Di Mezzanotte / Profile -- "La Dalia Nera" -- CD-R -- €10
2003 Sin Organisation, SIN16, (ltd. 300)
David Lynch-like noir style, tough romance and black sexuality with rape spirit in nine tracks of Crime Jazz / Angst Pop with excursions to more experimental terrains including noise and breakbeat. Great split by the two Italian projects with very interesting sound solutions. Such kind of jazz you won't hear anywhere else for sure. A5 sleeve. [YAOP]

Maklakov, Vitaliy -- "The Last Day Of Spring" -- CD-R -- €5
2015 Polevoy Dnevnik, P(F)D 004, (ltd. 17)
A recording made by Vitaliy Maklakov (Obozdur, Light Collapse, Kromeshna) in the last day of spring in the Urals. Undisturbed sunny atmosphere filled with voices of birds and animals and cozy crackling fire. Hand-crafted sleeve, each copy has a unique design. [YAOP]

Michael, David & Slavek Kwi -- "Mmabolela" -- 2 CD -- €15
2014 Gruenrekorder, 144, (ltd. 500)
Note from unwritten diary of David: "3:45 AM. Time to get up. The Bushveld is already awake. Slávek and I are both dragging a bit, rushing to get out the door and deploy. After almost two weeks of nonstop recording, we are both tired and a little homesick. At this point in the residency we have already found a dependable dawn recording location in a dry creek bed just far enough away from Weederdooper homestead so that our microphones will not pick up breakfast activities and just close enough for us to make it back for a nap before the morning field session. In a strange way this location reminds me of another of Slávek’s favorite recording spots on a small tributary flowing into Lake Mamori in Brazil. Slávek and I share a room at Weederdooper, which makes these dawn sessions simple. Our equipment too tends to share space in locations we scout together during many of the field sessions. We each now have many recordings of the exact same events, but from slightly different perspectives. The dry river bed at Umzumbi, the hippos at Mmabolel Rock, the bridge to Botswana, the watering holes. Perhaps when we get back home we will make a CD together. [label info]

Militia -- "Folk XII" -- CD -- €10
1985/2012 Oltrelanebbiailmare, CD201210
"FOLK XII" was born as a CD re-edition of Militia's - a band from Perugia, Central Italy - debut release (a four tracks EP entitled "Folk II" released by Contempo in 1985), but also, as the title aptly suggests, as a new reading of that work with the help of modern technology (which produced a partial remixing and remastering by the musicians themselves) and its integration with unreleased tracks that were left aside until today. That 12", althought still immature, was favorably received by the public and the critics (even the conformist "Ciao 2001" praised the band on such occasion), it deserves to be properly brought to light again. Rothenberg, David & Korhan Erel -- "Berlin Bulbul" -- CD -- €14
2015 Gruenrekorder, 159, (ltd. 1000)
This is a collaboration between the German musician, composer, author and philosopher-naturalist David Rothenberg on bass clarinet, clarinet and effects and computer musician, improviser, sound designer Turkish Korhan Erel based in Berlin on computer, iPad and live sampling. ‘Berlin Bülbül’ (which means nightingale in Turkish) is a living recording on location and at Draakonipuu, Kreuzberg, Berlin (an important heritage area of the city with several parks and museums). According to the liner notes about nightingale behaviour there are “three ways by which they sing and countersing to each other, starting late at night and lasting until dawn during the early weeks of spring. The male is typically an ‘inserter,’ which means he waits a moment after another’s song ends before starting his own, and thus a resultant song is formed from their alternations. There is also, however, the ‘overlapper,’ whose singing begins about one second after another’s, and the ‘autonomous singer,’ who blithely sings according to his own schedule, indifferent to whatever else is happening nearby”. The prolific interaction between the sinuous Rothenberg clarinet sounds and sound explorations with electronic abstractaciones Erel, maintains an ongoing rich in nuance dialogue between music and nature. Seirom -- "Mesmerized" -- CD -- €10
2015 Ksenza Records, KSZ 006 / Infinite Fog Productions, (ltd. 500)
Seirom is M.C. De Jong, mastermind of GNAW THEIR TONGUES, ADERLATING and others, a stalwart of bleak and desolate music for many years. Seirom sees a different side of De Jong's musical output, an outpouring of glorious light. 'Mesmerized' is ambient and synth works recorded in 2014. Once again the aim of the material was pure emotion, pure atmosphere. Limited Edition 500 copies, 6 panel digipak. [label info]

Stribog / Futhark -- "Daily War's Songs" -- CD -- €10
1998 Energeia, ENE 042
A great example of early Italian neofolk from mid-90s. Two affined projects turning the style of Sol Invictus to more refined arrangements, experiments and psychedelia, still keeping up rough nordic spirit. [YAOP]

T.A.C. -- "Ouvrez Vos Auditifs Canaux" -- CD -- €10
1985/2013 Officina Fonografica Italiana, OFI004
For their third effort, originally released by Azteco Records in 1985, T.A.C. had grown to a six headed band, featuring a very peculiar sound on the verge of haunting minimalist structures and contemporary classical, scattered with electronic incursions of polluted radio frequencies and background buzzes, which give the music an eerie, dismantled feeling. Their autonomous and unorthodox path interbreeds post-industrial with a kaleidoscope of other inputs making use of an instrument array that sets side to side violin, doublebass, flute and trumpet with musique concrиte techniques, electronics and tape manipulation, thus leading some journalist to amazingly write the tagline "a little like Nino Rota meets Nurse With Wound". This new and carefully remastered edition presents for the first time three unreleased tracks recorded during the album sessions that bring light on how the whole album is all about permutation and chance procedures. T.A.C. complex and meandering approach gives birth to unexpected deconstructed pieces, sometimes dark and brooding, sometimes light and whimsical, always compelling. [press-release]

T.A.C. -- "Tomografia Assiale Computerizzata" -- CD -- €10
1983/2012 Officina Fonografica Italiana, OFI002, (ltd. 300)
Finally available on CD, “Tomografia Assiale Computerizzata” is the debut album of the band of the same name, then better known by the acronym T.A.C. The LP was originally published in 1983 as the first release of the defunct Azteco Records, a label run by the band itself. Founded in Parma in 1981 by Andrea Azzali, Simon Balestrazzi, Giorgio Barbuti, Fabio Cortesi and Giampaolo Terenziani, in its first incarnation the band used to crossbreed rock and experimental music, combining tape-loops, synthesizers and metal percussions with the more traditional guitar, bass and drums. An historic release of the alternative Italian music scene, it expresses the torment of a momentous goal avoiding the limbo of aesthetic conventions through daring harmonic solutions that border the darkest restlessness, sometimes covered by outbursts of an uncontrollable urgency. Some of the tracks recall the most avant-jazz moments of Pere Ubu, while others bring to mind the experiments of early Cabaret Voltaire or the work of Nurse With Wound and the Residents. Music beyond the boundaries of space and time, a real vortex of emotions that emerge over the background of a mutant and elusive horizon. [press-release]

Vava Kitora -- "The Spinning Song" -- CD -- €12
2010 There, TRCD-06
The Japanese female duo Vava Kitora was formed in 2002 by Sachiko (vocals, electronics) and Yama-akago (vocals, violin, electronics). Their third album was released in 2010, three years after the previous disc "Prithivi Mandragoire", published by Deserted Factory. It consists of two long tracks recorded live in 2005-2006 and presents the improvisanion on the theme of mystical dances in a deep forest. Occult music, hypnotic and deep, with its own unique atmosphere and strongest psychological impact. [Monochrome Vision]

V/A -- "Halogen Ball" -- CD-R -- €7
1999 Negative Foundation
Four long massives of industrial noise and sound manipulation by ALCHEMY OF THE 20TH CENTURY, DIETER MÜH, MNEM and GREY PARK. 47 minutes of ugly splendour in stylish covers. [label info]

1999 Neue Aesthetik / Starfish Music, 01699-9, (ltd. 1000)
A cult compilation - the soundtrack for an unreleased film. Two neofolk tracks from Sol Invictus, a bulk of posh epatage experimental French lo-fi techno from Costes (strangely sounding like punk version of Derniere Volonte), and one track each from Suckdog (decadent gothic chanson) and Pure (dramatic experimental). [YAOP]

Vinyl

Doring, Roger / Konrad Korabiewski -- "Komplex" -- LP -- €16
2015 Gruenrekorder, 126 / Skalar, 001, (ltd. 300)
The project was created over two years in Seydisfjördur, Iceland and in Berlin, Germany, and is an evolving conversation between Döring’s improvisation on acoustic instruments such as clarinet and saxophones, and Korabiewski’s electronic live treatment and composition with Döring’s sounds. A third compositional element is contributed by the particular ambiences of the spaces in which the recordings took place, as Korabiewski and Döring came together to record at sites with personal and acoustic resonance, from Döring’s apartment in Berlin to an abandoned herring factory by the sea in east Iceland... Musically Komplex moves seamlessly between ethereal ambient re- frains, to a somber, churning low end, to a hypnotic looping rev- erie that slowly disintegrates as if under the burr and scratch of a gramophone needle. Melodic elements occasionally distort and peak into noise, lending the simplicity of solo instrumental im- provisation an atmospheric density, and revealing the material and spiritual limits of the fragile musical moments around which the album circles. The track titles, made of German expressions and short sentences, refer to the restless transience of creative life, much like that of a journeyman craftsperson centuries ago. The result is a highly expressive, dark, and deeply felt, honest album, reflective of shifting emotional states and uneasy sagas from the north. [press-release]

MNEM -- "No Cosmic Ox" -- 7" -- €7
2006 Negative Foundation, NF05, (ltd. 500)
Third and latest 7inch vinyl released in 2006 from the genius duo founded by 1W and Juri Karpov from Finland. Amorphous industrial sculpture without overworked frills in the manner of musique concrиte / electro-acoustic at its best. [Lust Vessel]

Schwarz, Robert -- "The Scale Of Things" -- LP -- €16
2015 Gruenrekorder, 154, (ltd. 300)
Distantly rooted in musique concrète, ”The Scale Of Things” discloses an uncanny, multilayered sonic universe of its own. The seven compositions are based on the exploration of nature recordings for unheard details and hidden layers, focused on patterns of stochastic order and unique chaos created without musical intention. The harmony we hear is the harmony of overwhelming and collective uncertainty, because this nature is chaos. Audio transformations that remain hidden, accompanied by modular synthesizers purposely blur most links to the “real” world, in favor of a strange and poetic realm, following the erratic patterns of nature. Mesmerizing and disturbing at the same time, an ambivalent dualism emerges of a strange world that is dissolving and not dissolving. A world that can only be described by it’s surface. Expulsed from nature, as our brain is expulsed from nature. Die Natur ist das einzige immerwährende Menschenunmögliche. [press-release]

Reutoff / Bad Sector -- "21.11.14" -- C-93 -- €9
2015 kultFRONT, KF-XXV, (ltd. 75)
The 25th release by kultFRONT is a live concert split by the exemplary dark ambient projects from Russia and Italy, Reutoff and Bad Sector respectively. The show took place in the very late autumn of 2014 in St. Petersburg, Russia. The venue initially planned for this event was suddenly shut down and the show was urgently and successfully moved to one of the best clubs for this kind of music - The Place. Also from a technical point of view the concert was flawless so all musicians agreed to publish it. This fact is remarkable because "21.11.14" is the first live release in Reutoff's longstanding history. And in fact the first live album for Bad Sector in its 20 years of existence. The earlier "live" release by Bad Sector was "Xela" published in Russia 14 years ago (Waystyx 01, 2001), however it doesn't really meet the criteria of a "live album". It featured studio materials prepared especially for one of the early live shows of Bad Sector. The Reutoff side consists of live versions of compositions from the "ZugZwang IV", "Eigengrau", "No One's Lullabies" albums and some unreleased material. The Bad Sector side includes live versions of tracks from "Storage Disk 2", "Reset / Rebis Periferiche", "Unification", "Kosmodrom" and "Dolmen Factory". The album is published in a very limited edition of 75 white cassettes. A symbolic glance in the past, as both projects had their first recordings on cassettes too. This release is not planned to be distributed on other media or digitally. [press-release]

The compilation is divided into 3 parts - 3 existential phases: "Phase of Life" is about existence of a soul in the material world (tracks 1-3), "Phase of Death" is about leaving of a soul from a body shell (tracks 4-6), "Phase of Eternity" is about astral journey of a soul (tracks 7-9) (non-physical side C is not available on physical release). Becuzzi, Gianluca -- "(B)Haunted" -- CD -- €10
2014 Silentes Minimal Editions, sme 1362
Following his collaborations with Fabio Orsi and Luigi Turra published in 2012-2013, it’s time for another Gianluca Becuzzi solo album on Silentes. This electronic / electro-acoustic composer and sound-artist boast an enviable curriculum: active since the first half of the ‘80s as founder of the historic Darkwave / Industrial project Limbo, since 1999 his artistic production is characterized by a strong experimental imprint and by a clear tendency toward abstract aesthetic forms and micro/macro noises/sounds. Among his other recent artistic production - in addition to what he has published under his own name - we should at least remember his projects Kinetix, Noise Trade Company and Grey History, and his many collaborations in duo with the already mentioned Fabio Orsi. “(B)Haunted” collects materials recorded in 2010-2011 that were previously released on cassette/CD-R in two extremely limited editions, entitled “Haunted” and “B”, respectively by Cerebro Morto in Portugal and Silentes Tapestry in Italy. Although composed for two different projects, the eight numbers on the album show some cohesiveness as the listener is treated with a tracklist that cleverly interchanges the tracks from both of them instead than offering the two complete works separately. Most of the music on “(B)Haunted” has an Industrial feel and seems to originate from live sessions that were enriched with electronic sounds and treatments at a later date. During the listening we confront ourselves with various sounds of a metallic nature and indistinct percussions, found sounds and gear, mechanisms and bells, scraped material and drones. Everything contributes to the creation of a soundscape that is always fascinating and arouse a lot of curiosity and attention on the evolution and direction that the music will take. Coming in a beautiful black’n’white artwork that aptly describes the industriousness of the author and the continuous musical metamorphosis herein contained, this is a very interesting album that will please fans of the old Industrial school and those devoted to sound-art and experimentation. Here comes Gianluca Becuzzi’s fourth release on Silentes. Becuzzi, Gianluca & Fabio Orsi -- "Dust Tears And Clouds" -- 2 CD -- €10
2013 Silentes Minimal Editions, sme 1359
Following the previous albums released, among others, by Last Visible Dog and Digitalis, "Dust Tears and Clouds" is the fifth full-lenght work born from the collaboration between Gianluca Becuzzi and Fabio Orsi. Becuzzi is an electronic / electroacoustic composer and sound artist active since the first half of the ’80s. Founder of the historic Darkwave / Industrial project Limbo, since 1999 his artistic production is characterized by a strong experimental imprint and by a clear tendency toward abstract aesthetic forms and micro/macro noises/sounds. Among his recent artistic production - in addition to what he has published under his own name - we should at least mention his projects Kinetix, Noise Trade Company and Grey History. On the other side, Orsi sits among the most interesting names of the European electronic and experimental scene. Following his early output on A Silent Place and Smallvoices, his music works have been published by many other labels worldwide, including Porter Records, Boring Machines and, of course, Silentes. His talent has become an estabilished reality thanks to his abilities in finding a nice balance between experimentation and melody. “Dust Tears and Clouds” combines two CDs in a single release. The first disc, entitled “Dust Tears and Skinny Legs Poets”, was recorded in 2007 and remained unreleased until now. It contains eight highly evocative tracks that feature American Folk samples recorded by Alan Lomax mixed with guitars and electronics. This work can be seen as the ideal follow-up to the acclaimed “Muddy Speaking Ghosts Through My Machines”. The second disc collects the three long tracks previously released by Foxglove back in 2007 as a 3x3” MiniCD-Rs extremely limited edition, with the welcome addition of an unreleased fourth track. Here Becuzzi and Orsi offers two solo efforts and two collaborative numbers; the voices and samples that graced the first disc are absent and the musicians create denser experimental plots soaked with field recordings, synthesizers and effects. Overall, the two Italian artists showcase a broad range of solutions and, once again, they create a rich work whose repeated listening will reveal more and more details. [press-release]

Becuzzi, Gianluca & Turra, Luigi -- "In Winter" -- CD -- €10
2012 Silentes Minimal Editions, sme 1257
One more new Gianluca Becuzzi release on Silentes, this time in collaboration with Luigi Turra. Composer of musique concrete and graphic designer whose main interest is the musical balance between silence and the tactile perception of sound, Turra’s works were published by labels such as and/OAR, Unfathomless, Non Visual Objects, SmallVoices and many others. A lot has already been written about Becuzzi, here we would just like to remember his historic Darkwave / Industrial project Limbo, his more recent Kinetix and Noise Trade Company incarnations, and the long collaboration he carried on with Fabio Orsi. "In Winter" was recorded between 2008 and 2010, with Becuzzi mostly taking care of field recordings and programming, and Turra giving his own contribution playing acoustic guitar and piano. Light as the snowflakes that entitle them, these nine compositions offer dreamy atmospheres that rely on minimal structures and evoke visions of lonely and lazily wintry landscapes. Music for the heart and the mind, delicate representations of quiet moods translated into harmonic sequences that combine environmental synthesis with influences of a refined sophistication. Bianchi, Maurizio -- "Pharmelodies" -- CD -- €10
2012 Silentes Minimal Editions, sme 1254, (ltd. 300)
A colossal and epic post-ambient symphony in three movements, where echoes of string instruments, deep drones of indecipherable origin, layered synthetic waves, slowed-down and distorted dark sonic masses challenge time with a para-immobility in constant turmoil, in an unpredictable, progressive and sometimes cyclic combination of statuesque sonic forms whose physiognomy is often known and familiar, while at the same time elusive, disturbing, arcane and mysterious... Another highest and unmissable chapter in the immense, infinite sound material forged by the greatest and immortal alchemist of Italian non-musical experimental scene. A limited edition of 300 hand-numbered copies in cartonsleeve. [press-release]

Bianchi, Maurizio & Jan-M. Iversen -- "Rekviem MB-JMI" -- CD -- €10
2011 Silentes Minimal Editions, sme 1144
A "classic" minimal ambient album; just one long track, a bit obscure, of a static nature but unarrestable as a matter of fact and slowly developing, built with layers of soft and 'round' sounds, heavily processed and effected, whose origin seems to be an organ... "Atypical" for sure, if confrontated with the huge and widely diversified productions of Maurizio Bianchi, this new album is probably one of the last and not to be missed releases signed by 'M.B.', since he has already announced his definitive departure from the musical scene. Another extraordinary collaborative CD, involving this time Jan-M. Iversen, an artist of international fame who managed to enrich and elaborate with great effect the "sound materials" provided by Maurizio Bianchi. [press-release]

ConDemek -- "Technological Shack Job" -- CD -- €12
1997 Functional Organisation, functional 011
"Technological Shack Job" is a tour-de-force of experimental mayhem within a tight conceptual framework. Damian Catera, Steve Lombardi, and Roxanne Benedetto weave an alluring sonic landscape that veers simultaneously towards rock, experimental power electronics, and more. This concept album explores the socio-political and psychological dimensions of humanity's relationship with technology and in its inter-mingling with reactionary belief systems. The American project presents over 60 minutes of mixed rhythms and soundscapes, with outbursts of noise and samples developing into a wall of rhythms. [press release]

Coniglio, Enrico feat. Manuel P. Cecchinato & Massimo Liverani -- "Sea Cathedrals" -- CD -- €10
2010 Silentes, cd201026
Five superb tracks of deep and evocative ambient music, enriched with echoes of ancient ritual suggestions. The immense spaces and the abyssal deepness of the sea, but also the sound of the bowels of the Earth, the colour of the sand of the desert, the energy of the wind, the strenght of all the Elements, the infinite cycle of day and night, of life and death… A long circular journey through interchanging atmospheres that shake and capture, dragging with energy, then leave room for more quiet and soothing introspective “stasis”, and again become dramatic and overwhelming. A great, unmissable album of “classic” ritual ambient music. [press-release]

Faryus & Vadim Bondarenko -- "Quiet Songs From Misty Places" -- CD -- €10
2011 Silentes, 201127
QSFMP is the 2nd album made in collaboration of 2 different musicians: "electronic wizard" Faryus and classical music player and composer, but sometimes "misty traveller" Vadim Bondarenko. These QUIET SONGS were composed in 2 steps: first liquid electronic atmospheres were created by Faryus, then the piano and the clarinet melodies were improvised and recorded by Vadim Bondarenko. Actually this album is an invitation to find some misty places in your dreams... Frail and delicate ambient atmospheres, clusters of rarefied piano notes lying on discreet drones, soft and evanescent clarinet riffs, suggesting and catching natural sounds... Light and ethereal pastel-coloured musical plots... Eight tracks, one hour of suspended and quiet sonic passages, flowing like discreet background, or to listen/see in a passionate mood, dreaming in silence, lying in gloom... Wonderful ambient stuff from these two Russian artists in the same vein of some of Harold Budd's works... Well known for their previous works on Russian FARIA Records, Faryus in the past has also crafted an album in collaboration with Robert Rich. [label info]

Lopez, Francisco & Valentina Lacmanovic -- "With/In" -- CD -- €10
2013 Silentes Minimal Editions, sme 1360
Francisco Lopez is internationally recognized as one of the major figures of the sound art and experimental music scene. For more than thirty years he has developed an astonishing sonic universe, absolutely personal and iconoclastic, based on a profound listening of the world. Destroying boundaries between industrial sounds and wilderness sound environments, shifting with passion from the limits of perception to the most dreadful abyss of sonic power, proposing a blind, profound and transcendental listening, freed from the imperatives of knowledge and open to sensory and spiritual expansion. He has realized hundreds of concerts, projects with field recordings, workshops and sound installations in over sixty countries of the five continents. His extensive catalog of sound pieces (with live and studio collaborations with over 150 international artists) has been released by more than 300 record labels worldwide. He has been awarded four times with honorary mentions at the competition of Ars Electronica Festival and is the recipient of the Qwartz Award 2010 for best sound anthology... Since 1999 Valentina Lacmanovic has researched dances from different cultures through their ritual, folk, classic, and contemporary aspects. From 2001 onwards, her work has been focused on the creation of dance-theater and multimedia performances where Eastern and Western worlds meet. She has worked intensively on creating performances inspired by dances of trance and collaborates with artists from various disciplines. Profound research into dances of trance and ritual versus performing spaces since 2003 gave new direction to her work as an art director and performer. Her investigations into whirling dance led to insights into its origins and practice extending beyond Sufi meditation that supply an inexhaustible source of artistic inspiration and contemporary creativity, ultimately resulting in the project Shedervish, which marked an important change in her artistic development... “With/In” features one long track created by Francisco Lopez with original sound matter recorded from body, clothes and immediate surrounding space during ritual whirling by Valentina Lacmanovic. As subtle as the almost invisible image that appears on the back cover, this work translate the dancer’s breath and movements into music. One of the most interesting concepts in Lopez later works and surely one of the best entries in his ever-growing discography. [press-release]

Red Sector A -- "Transients" -- CD -- €10
2014 Silentes, 201432/cd
Andrea Bellucci’s “Red Sector A” is probably one of Italy’s best kept secrets, and for sure the project of an author who has always preferred quality over quantity. In 1995, after hitting the European dance charts with a few successful 12" releases, he signed to Minus Habens, the hystorical Italian label. Between 1995 and 2012 he released with them four albums of evolute electronic music, merging deep atmospheres and Techno rhythms, microsounds and Ambient-Dub, big beats and Drum’n’Bass, installing his refined aesthetics on assimilated codes. During the years Bellucci also dedicated himself to Dark-Ambient under the Subterranean Source guise, whose two CD albums were released in the U.S. by Relapse via their Desolation House imprint. He also had the merit to bring Alio Die’s music to a wider “Non-Ambient” audience with Son-Dha, a remix project centered on selected tracks culled from the Italian ambient master’s early releases. “Transients” is Red Sector A’s fifth full-length work and also the first one released by Silentes. The path traced by Bellucci in twenty years of activity is perfectly fulfilled in an album characterized, as always, by complex rhythmic textures. The quality of the music produced is remarkable, the sound is clear and well defined with the album working quite well as a whole without any single weak track. The list of guest-artists who have contributed to the greatness of this work is simply impressive and includes the following: Andrew Lagowski, Teho Teardo, Retina.it, Dean Dennis (ex Clock-DVA), Giorgio Ricci (Templezone), Eraldo Bernocchi of Sigillum S fame, and Fabrizio Modonese Palumbo of Larsen. Since we enjoyed every bit of this release it’s quite hard to pick up any favourite: the analogic waves of “Luv – 426” (with Lagowski), the cold sequences of “The Depht of Balance” (featuring Dean Dennis) and the Dub-infected “Think – L” (with Eraldo Bernocchi) are just a few examples. A total winner that will appeal to fans of labels like Minus Habens, Warp, Rephlex, etc. [press-release]

Schattenspiel -- "Lichtgestalten" -- CD -- €10
2011 Dead Master's Beat, dmb012, (ltd. 500)
SCHATTENSPIEL's current album. 14 ambient and martial songs feat. REX THE NINTH, BARBAROSSA UMTRUNK, ARVORAR, HERMANN KOPP & IGNIIS. Also availabe in a limited box version (50 copies). The box is engraved and contains two buttons, a sticker, four papercards (backside handwritten in Sutterlin) and a booklet. "None of the album tracks can be classified. There are no pigeonholes for that kind of sound. Schattenspiel's former delf-designation 'Military Pop' does not fit anymore. What is developing here is genre-transcending music reinforced with collaborations with other well-known artists. The run-of-the-mill military drumming of the old days, the neofolk that sounds like it was made by some strumming bard boring himself to death, all of this is gone. Only Schattenspiel remains: Soft and soulful music suddenly becoming brutal and sinister, full of fervency and inner vision. Playful blaze meets power and sensual pleasures. […] 'Lichtgestalten' – just as expected – is an album showing a wide gamut of musical styles, skillfully performed, affectionately staged and handled with passion." [Obliveon Zine 2011]

Under The Snow -- "The Other Room" -- CD -- €10
2012 Silentes, cd 201231, (ltd. 300)
Seven “rooms” described through the visual essentiality of sober and linear photographic images in black and white, and through sonorities just as essential based on whispered and discrete synthesis, often bordering on silence, violated by occasional harshness, chimes of plucked strings, hissings, cracklings, electrical tensions, gurgles and digital creaks... An intimate and introspective path, through long and deserted corridors, entering spacious and bright rooms surrounded by white large walls, walking on reflective polished floors, cold and aseptic just like the sounds that Gianluca Favaron and Stefano Gentile chose to ideally fill with vibrations their spaces and architectural forms...
