ZHELEZOBETON news - 27.04.2020
http://zhb.radionoise.ru
Dear friends!

Seems like it's the first time in our history we have more new items on tapes than on CDs! Since the international postal services have seriously slowed down, most of the update consists of the titles from the Russian underground scene – from the labels COD Music, Operator Produkzion, YAOP, Nazlo Records, NEN Records, Post-Materialization Music, Glass Jelly Souffle, BioSonar^Lo-End, Frozen Light and a couple more. Only a few packages managed to break through to us from abroad – those were from Cold Spring (UK), Industrial Recollections (FI) and Janushoved (DK).

Please note that we're sending international packages only by registered mail with tracking, so even if they are delayed in transit, they won't get lost and will be delivered sooner or later! As usual, you can send your orders by email to mm@radionoise.ru or zhelezobeton@inbox.ru. We can always reserve your order for a reasonable time.

A kaleidoscope of selected tracks from the current update is available on mixcloud:

Full archive of our mixes can be downloaded here: https://yadi.sk/d/Bs4Vf88v3TF4WT

Take care,
M.M.

CDs & CD-Rs

>O< -- "La Belle Epoque" -- CD-R -- €7
2020 Operator Produkzion, OPERPRODUKT152, (ltd. 19)
Ambient / Drone / Dungeon Synth. The new disc by >o< is dedicated to the aesthetics of the "Beautiful Epoch", Art Nouveau or Modern - there are many names for this phenomenon, and the essence is very versatile, like this release. Here you will find sketches inspired by the masterpieces of Art Nouveau architecture like for example the famous Vitebsk Railway Station, and the technology of that era, and the romantic melancholy of the Baltic, and the breath of everyday life of those days. Accordingly, the tracks vary from minimalistic “gothic” forms of ambient to more lo-fi, experimental and drone variations of it - especially since we decided to supplement four new compositions with three bonuses of a similar theme, which were previously released on rare and already unavailable releases by >o<. The inner sleeve made by hand from vintage paper and decorated with a vintage floral sticker. All the information is handwritten with a golden ink. The outer A5 sleeve made of vintage patterned paper and sealed with a floral sticker. Decorated disc surface. [label info]

Almost shoegaze work with sound, but the result is 100% post-industrial. Limited to 15 handnumbered copies in handmade passe-partout package decorated with a picture of a traditional carpet. KHOST -- "Buried Steel" -- CD -- €10
2020 Cold Spring, CSR278CD
Industrial Doom Metal. The brand new album by Birmingham industrial doom metal duo Andy Swan (FINAL, IROHA) & Damian Bennett (TECHNO ANIMAL, CARTHAGE), feat Stephen Mallinder (CABARET VOLTAIRE, WRANGLER), Eugene Robinson (OXBOW) and more… ‘Buried Steel’ is the fourth album from KHOST, following the 2017 release ‘Governance’... Themes and sonics of ‘Buried Steel’ range from granite and impassive to dreamlike and somnambulistic, in keeping with the promise – and threat – of the title, dwelling on slow, infallible ruination: a gravitational downthrust upon misshapen monuments and structures which are mangled, overgrown and increasingly forgotten. A monochrome landscape where nature reclaims and redefines us as time passes... Recording of the album was marred with events such as an electrical fire which damaged some equipment. As a result, a number of tracks on the album had to be pieced together from damaged analogue elements such as reel to reel (Khost reel to reel RIP). From this point, the dynamic of some of the songs was altered, shifting their eventual outcome, particularly the tone of ambient work on Buried Steel... Further guests on ‘Buried Steel’ include Syan, Manuel Liebeskind, Daniel Buess (16-17, MIR) and Stephen Ah Burroughs (TUNNELS OF AH, ex-HEAD OF DAVID)... CD in 6-panel digipak with artwork contributions from Talitha Bell, Syan and Craig Earp. [label info]

KROL' / VIR' -- "s/t" -- CD -- €12
2020 COD Noizes, SHUM29, (ltd. 97)
Drone Rock / Ambient Pop. Music of closed rooms. Music of correctly hidden childhood fears. We present a new joint work of projects from two Russian capitals, in which the recognizable artcore of the Moscow project Vir and the hazy ambient pop of St. Petersburg group Krol intertwined. This is a slumber album: restless, anxious, filled with almost Lovecraftian images. A hopeless and desperate dream, dragging you to the very bottom and unexpectedly interrupted by the pacifying wind of a night city through an opened window. But the time will come to close your eyes again. Enjoy. Compact discs in vinyl-style gatefold laminated cardboard sleeve with innersleeves printed on black designer cardboard. Strictly limited edition of 97 handnumbered copies. [label info]

MAJDANEK WALTZ -- "Ona (Her)" -- CD -- €10
2020 COD Noizes, SHUM23
There are musical groups for which it is necessary to mature. And there are albums that need to mature. Four years after the release of the last full-length album, bypassing a series of collaborations and experiments with like-minded Patimat Khripa, Vintersolverv and The Noktulians, Majdanek Waltz returns with a new album. The album, the songs for which were composed about ten years ago, during the classical works of the project, has found its final form now: verified, very personal, chamber. The musicians left behind noise landscapes and experiments with sound, presenting an emotional, almost completely acoustic sound canvas, again recalling the reason why they were once called "the best group of Russian dark folk..." Nineteen people took part in the recording of the album, among others, Andrzej Zakharishchev von Brausch (Obermaneken), Alexander Ionov (Fire, Region-77), Alexey and Elena Sheptunovs (Moon Far Away). Mastering by Jhonnie Kratong (Romowe Rikoito, Kratong)... CD in jewel case with 6 pages foldout booklet printed on matte paper. [label info]

MINOY -- "In Search Of Tarkovsky" -- CD -- €10
1986/2020 Cold Spring, CSR273CD
Drone / Noise / Experimental. Minóy (1951-2010), a major figure in DIY noise music, produced some of the most remarkably engrossing, beautiful and imaginative work-of-art albums released on cassette in the 1980's... Created in 1986, "In Search Of Tarkovsky" is dedicated to the late Russian Director Andrei Tarkovsky ("Solaris", "Stalker", "Andrei Rublev" etc). A unique world of musical expression, with dense audio abstractions where the origin of any particular sound isn't quite discernible. A form of labyrinthian, droning collage electronics, otherworldly and dreamlike, at times nightmarish, at times sad, but always bold and deeply affecting... Composed after the director's death, it contains many trademarks of Minóy's style: manipulation of shortwave radio, use of spring reverb to get those strangely echoing, claustrophobic environments, and then the howling vocals, piling-up and distorting. Minóy plainly mourns the director's death but in such a unique way there is nothing to compare it to. Two long-form, elaborate pieces (just under 1 hour), essential to Minóy's aesthetic of "cinema of the ear"... This is the first Minóy material ever to be reissued. Unavailable since the original cassette release, these tracks have been remastered from the original archive files and are presented for the first time on CD in a matt-laminate digipak. [label info]

NAVIA -- "Krovosmesheniye (Incest)" -- 2 CD -- €14
1999/2020 COD Noizes, SHUM28, (ltd. 97)
Ugly times give rise to beautiful forms. We continue to exhume the underground of the experimental scene of the Northern Russian capital of the nineties and again turn our eyes to one of its most interesting layers. Evgeny Savenko (Lunar Abyss, Ritual Bioengineering [Ритуальная Биоинженерия]), Nikolai Kalmykov (Hladna) and Vasily Rusetskiy (Njard, Blazebirth Hall), acting as part of the Navia [Ънавь] collaboration, recorded an album that was extremely characteristic for that time. Twenty-three compositions from thirteen nonexistent projects, in which there was a place for both the basement raw black metal, and noise rock, ritual industrial, and the spirit of the British esoteric underground. But intentional eclecticism does not violate the integrity of the perception of the sound canvas, all is moved by a single Idea, a single Aspiration. Only Hail Darkness! Only Never Stop The Madness! Enjoy. Double CD in a mini-vinyl sleeve with printed inner envelopes (97 handnumbered copies). [label info]

SONOLOGYST -- "Ancient Death Cults And Beliefs" -- CD -- €10
2020 Cold Spring, CSR270CD
Ritual Dark Ambient / Drone. The veneration of the dead plays an important role in mythology and (nature) religions. It is inspired by fear for wrath of the deceased, and by obtaining their council and favours. A large part of the religious life concentrated therefore around the death cults. This led to the erection of huge monuments (mastabas, pyramids, grave-temples, and rock-graves) in Egypt… but in ancient China, Mesopotamia, and India the dead were also honoured by impressive monuments and elaborate rituals... Although the death cults and burial rituals may be different among the nature religions, the reasons are the same; either affection towards the deceased or else fear for the soul wandering in the vicinity of the corpse and which must be appeased (with offerings, prayers, incantations). Common is also a form of cannibalism where the body is eaten in order to obtain some of the strength of the deceased. The mummification of the dead, which originated in the belief of life after death, was an important part of the death cults too... This album is a deep musical investigation of those cults and beliefs in ancient times. Presented in a matt digipak with evocative, ritualistic artwork by Abby Helasdottir. [label info]

HORTHODOX -- "s/t" -- CS -- €7
2019 S.N.D. Production, SND20, (ltd. 33)
Ritual / Noise. Horthodox - a prayer, a requiem, a riot of religious fanaticism, sweeping the ulcers of a poisonous and sinful soul. There will be no peace, only Eternity is ahead. When the Liturgy ends, we will leave the Temple straight into the Vile Ditch, to the Gates of Hell, lit with radiant Light that was before the beginning of Creation. With the light that the Lord Satan hid under His Throne, so that those who sees Him could become withered lamps and dead salt in righteous life. Horthodox is the music granted to those who continuously walk along the Crossroads, calling on all who choose Him as their Lord, following through the narrow path of faith and obedience to Him, Who is the Truth and Who is the Path to the Eternity. The ritual that the Lord Himself leads by His Spirit... [label info] Black Ritual Noise / Dark Ambient project by Horth (Karna, Goatpsalm, [coldstrain], Sick Rites). 6-panel black & white cover, glossy cardboard slipcase.

NAVIA -- "Interzone Report / Among Two Edges" -- CS -- €10
1998/2019 COD Noizes, SHUM22, (ltd. 97)
Lo-Fi / Industrial / Dark Ambient. The 90-ies was very hard times for Russian land. The country in a ruin without any war. The same ruin possessed the disoriented minds of Russian people. And from this illed ruined minds very special musical projects have been grown. One of these projects was Navia (Ънавь in Russian) started as a collaboration of friends later became a solo project of Evgeniy Savenko (nowadays known for its projects Lunar Abyss, Ritualnaya Bioingeneria, Boevye Cikady, Pustota and others)... In different times many famous personalities took their part in the Navia forges - from Hladna, Blazebirth Hall, Dreved, Blackdeath and other obscure and cult Russian acts. The music they played was like the time they existed: dark, desperate, lost and disoriented. All compositions, semi-improvised, was recorded live on magnetic tape without any electronic effects and post-production in the absolutely darkness in the catacombes of a half ruined in the 90-ies Konstantin Palace near old imperial capital of Russia Saint-Petersburg... Reverence towards the British Esoteric Underground of 80-ies with a Black Metal esthetics multiplied by the chthonic Russian spirit, raw and sometimes ritual black industrial, black metal without black metal... We proudly present the first release of the cycle issued by the agreement with Evgeniy Savenko - "Interzone Report / Among Two Edges". Very first time on a professional physical format. First time ever published digitally. The pure historical document as it is. [label info]

OTZEPENEVSHIYE -- "Methadrone" -- C-90 -- €15
2020 NEN Records, NEN107, (ltd. 72)
Industrial Metal / Drone Doom / Experimental. In our estimation (saying “our”, I mean Оцепеневшие), Methadrone (side A) is a documentation of the best concert performance in all the years the project has existed, a performance played by the best ever line-up. Asterius (Sal Solaris), VoPoH (Cisfinitum) and Myrrman (Reutoff,) came together on stage. The event was rendered a certain specialty by the appearance of the newly found VoPoH behind Polivox – he took the place of Dmitriy Zubov (Der Golem), the now deceased third member of the project’s very first lineup. So just take it for granted: there were gods on staget that night, and they always sing one song about the main thing... Methadrone is an "afterhum" that people usually hear – it starts so early, on the edge of the human hearing, that no one understands when something went wrong, and one feels 'just' uneasy - always 'a bit'... Methadrone by Оценепеневшие takes in quickly, and you feel as if you were inside a solid monolith. It grinds the joints of published and unpublished compositions. It slops, falling into swampy holes and abandoned missile silos. It makes feel "cold" under one's knee. It howls relentlessly peering into windows of night Russian suburban trains. It sniffs like a fool, hoping for the best and getting stuck in weird postures. Tilting the head back, it mumbles in longing for pain and beauty. Because everything is good. Because nothing matters. It brings you on the verge of laughing or crying, as there is nothing left beyond. Nothing but the icy desert and the horizon of no return – and you, having no maps or plans, stuck between the two... We produce Methadrone, which imperceptibly tortures everyone reminding of the fact that beauty and icy desert are so adjacent, and we produce it in the most concentrated and bioavailable form, recalling the principle that similia similibus curantur. Methadrone by Оцепеневшие is an inoculation against the habit... The B side has no need to go into details due to it's laconic and enigmatic nature. It's also a recording of a live performance, a special 'expurgatory' one, played on April 7, 2018 at Model T Club (Moscow) (thanks to Ritual Booking). Same staff, no doomgaze, no guitars, only samplers, effectors, tapes, synthesizers and vinyl. Listening is necessary to get practical knowledge, what the prefix 'metha' in the word 'methadrone' means. Adding "Hypothese №2" makes the tape work like an optical system: one side reveals the ferocity of the other, and vice versa... 72 black сassettes with a black sticker on each side hide within a vacuumised embossed pack with a couple of black medical gloves, a black medical mask, a postcard, some new Оцепеневшие on self-isolation photos and a download coupone. NB! Vacuuming the package caused some expected wrinkles on the photos and the postcard. Here we point to complicity with materials. They draw a direct analogy to the folds and contractions that occur on the subject's surface as a result of prolonged self-isolation and quarantine limited social interaction. [label info]

TIFOSI BARRACK 303 -- "s/t" -- C-46 -- €7
2020 Luxury Terrace, LuxTer 01, (ltd. 27)
Acid House / Lo-Fi. In those unique ten plus years that those who like using cliches call “wild 1990s”, St. Petersburg used to be a hotbed of all subcultures, a source of new trends, a nest of the “psychedelic revolution” and “Russian Munchen” for the right-wing movement, and all this sometimes developed into such fierce combinations like skinheads from the TamTam club high on PCP, or fashionable DJs fond of necrorealism, hanging out with Eugeniy Yufit. In this era, stretching from the "mature perestroika" of the late 80s to the ritual "300 year anniversary" in 2003, while the English drug addicts were inventing rave, the Leningrad fascists were hanging around in Rotunda, scratching out "Hitleriada '89" and "Ingria" on the windows of metro cars and going digging to Sinyavinskiye heights. Schoolboys painting "psilocybin toadstools" on the walls while older fellows going after them into the fields in commuter trains. The first clubs are opening in bomb shelters, the Gulf of Finland becomes the Sea of Acid, and Vasilievsky Island becomes its psychedelic cruiser. The underground Ingridan Acid House project Tifosi Barrack 303 not only explores all these topics in its sparkling harsh lo-fi tracks, but also refers to later eras, immortalizing, for example, 2CB or the favorite model of three-lane slippers - “Hochelaga”. The simple, somewhat abstract structure of music and the creative method of the project have something in common with the legendary St. Petersburg noise school. Packed in a holographic handmade gold box decorated with voluminous Smiley. The cassette itself is designed in the same style. The cover reproduces photographs of home-made psychedelic posters pasted by some fans of Albert Hoffman to the garage at the Porcelain Post at the turn of the millennium, and photographed by us there a decade later, in 2010. The spine of the cover is decorated with a vintage Canadian heart sticker from the 80s. [label info]

Z'EV -- "Heart Beat Ear Drum" -- DVD -- €15
2020 Cold Spring, CSR262DVD
“Heart Beat Ear Drum” is a feature length documentary about the late artist and musician Z’EV (1951-2017), known for his punk era scrap metal music – an extraordinary range of acoustic phenomena resulting in trance-inducing sounds... This documentary shows how his music changed and grew and how his personal journey led him to the margins of art and the depths of heart. From 2007-2015, director Ellen Zweig followed Z’EV, shooting concerts and interviews, and collecting archival footage. In addition to interviews with Z’EV, there are interviews with a community of artists who have known him since the 1970’s, curators who have encountered him in the 1990’s, and younger people who have only heard his recorded music or read his philosophical texts (Bob Bellerue, Bow Gamelan Ensemble, HATI, Barbara Stevini, Simone Forti, Zach Layton, Carl Stone, Ned Sublette, Johanna Went and more)... Z’EV began with a “wild style”, crashing and throwing pieces of metal to make sound. He collected the materials for his art at scrap yards. 30 years later, almost all the scrap yards are closed. Z’EV now uses mallet percussion to explore acoustic phenomena. Z’EV was a crusader: for art, for trance meditation, and for living a thoughtful life. His found object aesthetic made us see art in all of the objects around us. His art activities included drumming, sculpture, gardening, even cooking... This film is divided in chapters and organised with both a narrative and a digressive structure. The structure is topic based, not strictly chronological. The first half of the film uses archival concert footage and interviews to establish Z’EV’s place in the world of art and music. The second half uses contemporary concert footage and interviews to explore the changes that led Z’EV to a more contemplative style. The film ends with an extended concert... There is music throughout the film, but at the end, you are immersed in the music and in Z’EV’s exploration of resonance. [label info]

MAIL BOMB: INTERNATIONAL MAIL ART MAGAZINE -- magazine + CS -- €22
2020 Post-Materialization Music, (ltd. 150)
The name Mail Bomb refers us to mail-art, the cultural movement of the 1970s and 1980s. It originates in naive art and amateur art. A common feature of the work is emphasized experimentalism and unconventionality. Mail-art expands the scope of concepts such as "artwork", "author", "boundaries of artistic creation." The authors are polystylists and media artists, which shakes the prevailing typology of styles ... In the middle of the 20th century, the phrase "mail bomb" was used to name the bomb that was sent to important people. Also in the case of our magazine, which will mainly be distributed by mail, it will become an art bomb in the recipient's mailbox ... After decades, we tried to bring together artists who have worked in this style for many years and contemporary followers of this direction. Among the participants of Mail Bomb there are world-famous authors such as Andy Bolus (awards), Ludo Mitch (awards), Lee Ranaldo (guitarist of Sonic Youth). Participation in the magazine attracted them because of their many years of love for underground art and innovative approaches. But besides prominent artists, Mail Bomb magazine pursues an educational idea. And that's why, along with the rest, local little-known artists took part in it ... One of the key topics of the magazine, as well as style, is the combination of a work of art and its visualization method. When creating the works, uncommon printing methods are used: linocut, risography, silk-screen printing, which allow you to get an unexpected and unique product each time. Technologies blur the line between the author of the image and the artist of its replicated embodiment and make the creative process collaborative ... Since many artists represented in the magazine are closely connected with sound art, it was decided to release an application in the form of audio cassettes, which are historically closely related to the movement of mail-art. In the 1970-1980s, the audio cassette was considered the cheapest and simplest medium. [label info]

BONCH-BRUEVICH, RACHEL -- "Triptych II" -- 3 CS -- €28
2019 Nazlo Records, NzR119, (ltd. 15)
Piano / Modern Classical. One of the most enduringly fascinating projects to watch unfold this year, Rachel Bonch-Bruevich remains a mystery. Described as a late-Soviet outsider pianist whose amateur recordings were recovered earlier this decade, each simply numbered release captured faded piano recordings dubbed over old cassettes that occasionally burst through like radio interference. As a historical document it’s a treasure trove. As a hoax? That would only make these impossibly detailed smears of tape damage and audio drop-out more impressive. But I believe in Rachel Bonch-Bruevich, and exploring the archives of Triptych II (which includes cassettes One, 8 and the essential 13) will make you a believer, too. [Bandcamp Daily] Three tapes of various colours (C-60, C-40, C-60) in a triple case, handtyped label.

COIL -- "Backwards" -- CD -- €10
2015 Cold Spring, CSR203CD
After the ground-breaking release of 1990's "Love's Secret Domain" album, Coil were not dormant; the main project was "Backwards", which was started in 1992, updated considerably between 1993 and 1995, and transferred in 1996 to New Orleans, where it was finished in the magic of the Nothing studios of Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails). The album saw the fruition of Jhonn Balance's recent vocal coaching, producing haunting, passionate vocals, while reaching new heights. 23 years after its initiation, these tracks have been beautifully preserved by Danny Hyde and are finally available in highest quality audio. Differing substantially from the later, remixed incarnation, "The New Backwards" (2008), "Backwards" contains the original versions of Coil's much-loved tracks; 'A Cold Cell' and 'Fire Of The Mind', which have appeared on various compilations over the years, and are now presented as originally intended. This album is the essential bridge between "LSD" and the later "Musick To Play In The Dark" series. It is an essential conduit, to understand the journey that was taken. It was to be released… it should have been released… but because of issues with grey men it wasn't. It is now, so enjoy. (Danny Hyde).

COIL / NINE INCH NAILS -- "Recoiled" -- CD -- €10
2014 Cold Spring, CSR193CD
"Recoiled" is a rambunctious alchemy, of magikal Coil sensibilities and hi-tech home circa 90's mixing technique, all fused in the cave-like early studios of Danny Hyde / Peter Christopherson. These were the unrestrained PRE- BIG studio- mix downs, of four songs which long time Coil admirer / collaborator Trent Reznor requested Coil to remix. Reznor sent over the original multi-tracks and DATs to Hyde / Christopherson, who independently mixed versions and then met to synch both creations, molding them into these master versions. "Recoiled" includes a fuller, more opulent version of the track 'Closer', which eventually made it onto the opening credits to the movie "SE7EN". These 5 lengthy compositions (just under 40 minutes) are pre-Ableton / laptop generation type priest song creations, with the use of baby alarms and numerous wires to create bespoke effects. These legendary tracks were always rumoured to exist and, only the due diligence of a dedicated NIN forum who hunted them down, are released/unleashed for your listening pleasure. 4 of the tracks were released on the download-only "Uncoiled". A bonus, previously unheard track from the same sessions closes the album. Jhonn Balance is also manifest on this gilded constellation. Beautifully remastered. [press-release]

KOLLAPS -- "Mechanical Christ" -- CD -- €10
2019 Cold Spring, CSR269CD
Industrial. Australian post-industrialists KOLLAPS are a three piece creating a unique brand of primitive noise “intended for degenerates and outsiders”. The bands’ distinctive primordial tones are created using appropriated waste materials like scrap metal, raw plastics and steel plates combined with blistering percussion, bass and vocals. This is no empty “industrial” gesture, for the band this process of creation facilitates the literal use of postmodern society against itself... Mechanical Christ, the bands’ sophomore release, is a conceptual continuation of its predecessor Sibling Lovers. This release sees Kollaps further their exploration of the inherent societal sickness of our times, one that manifests itself in the debasement of individual morality. Themes of exploitation, vengeance, drug addiction, paranoia and slave labour are part of a dissonant, inverted morality play. Testament to the bands’ evolving conceptual depth are the overarching themes of love, life and death that offer a sense of shared experience in the discomfort of the universal human experience. Known for their violent and nihilistic stage performances, this recording encapsulates with harsher clarity the visceral confrontation that is Kollaps’ live act... Mechanical Christ was recorded and mixed over a two-month period at Aviary Studios by Mike Deslandes, and mastered by James Plotkin/Plotkinworks. A journey into the desperation and lack of resolve that is both the crux of modern social ills and at the very heart of the human condition... CD in gatefold digisleeve. [label info]

METAORGANISM -- "I:Baphomet" -- CD-R -- €5
2008 Some Place Else, SPECDR08048
Dark Ambient / Drone. Metaorganism was conceived — or discovered — in Kuuskulma studio while conducting various experiments with sinewaves, oscillators and feedback. Metaorganism is based on — or communicates through — a network of digital and analog devices transmitting information to each other, back and forth. In the system, a minor change in a supposedly insignificant parameter may unexpectedly change the overall course of the sound. Everything affects everything — as above, so below... At some point of its development, the system will reach a state of balance where it seems to become self-reliant — independent, evolving — and in a sense a communicating entity which becomes conscious of itself. The Manifestation occurs, through sound. A series of recording sessions were held, with the attempt to experiment with the system to serve certain 'hermetic' purposes, to influence the nature of Manifestation, ie. what exactly is invoked in/through the sound. I:Baphomet is the first in what is being planned as a series of Metaorganism audio documents. [press-release]

2007 Verba Corrige Productions, VCP009
"More than ever, fringe culture methods and cutting edge acoustic science mate for the generations of endless layers and bursts of sonic pleasure: voices and drones clans across plans and peaks, fishing for universal tremors and sensorial catastrophes. TREPANERINGSRITUALEN -- "Algir; eller Algir i Merkstave" -- CD -- €10
2019 Cold Spring, CSR275CD
Ritual Ambient / Dark Ambient. Trepaneringsritualen return to Cold Spring with an album-long ritual working entitled "Algir; eller Algir i Merkstave". On this record — constructed from a series of rituals designated to guide the last ceasing of T × R × P's sister, it manifests in its most obscure form. Sonically minimal yet devastating in emotional impact, this working lets the listener grasp the last vestiges of Nifl and Múspell, and with them as weapon and beacon traverse the Night. The album reveals a barren landscape where crooked paths lead onward, through soot black veils to a point of radiant light where all that is is Union & Dissolution. [label info]

VEPRISUICIDA -- "Heavy Metal Cyclothymia / Science Friction" -- CD -- €12
1999/2018 Industrial Recollections
Noise / Cut-Up / Sound Collage. Back in late 90's and early 00's, Freak Animal used to receive tapes from Russia. Now, decades later, via Russian contact person, I sent a word to Alexander Lebedev-Frontov asking whether Veprisuicida would be interested in some very needed re-issues. Great news was that there was no obstacles to launch decent sized re-issue project with some of the hardest to find Ultra tapes! Now series of 4 CD's is complete, including all the essential Veprisuicida works! Veprisuicida is the most primitive and noisy of Alexander Lebedev-Frontov works. His industrial projects are widely celebrated among underground, but Veprisuicida seems to be far less recognized. It's charm is in brutal and manually crafted primitive industrial waste. Eerie feeling of old Soviet avantgarde clashes with industrial-noise tape manipulations. It is nearly impossible to find as rugged, as crude and as rusty industrial noise in genre these days. Bleak and rotten sound, with broken mechanical feel, were saturated tape manipulations and disruptive pause edits add further charm. It's very far from bombastic effects and plastic sounding digital distortions and results of heavily layered on-screen editing. With its rawness, Veprisuicida may be *too much* for those looking more entertaining music. For lovers of fierce and difficult ripping industrial noise, we are proud to present these recordings finally as real CD, with original graphics. [label info]

VEPRISUICIDA -- "Vaginacentrism" -- CD -- €12
1996/2018 Industrial Recollections
