ABBILDUNG -- "Braahia" -- CD -- €10
2020 Essentia Mundi, EM032, (ltd. 200)
Dark Ambient. Dark Ambient from the dark realm of dreams by the Romanian sound artist. Deeper into the other dreamers' world. Through Braahia plains and their dream catchers. The universe of Abbildung comes from the very fabric of things, from some essential things. The construction is formed as dreams are, piece by piece into a flow, but defying any strategy nor putting stress to form something that is "right". This universe's space structure is grasped at the symbolism of abstraction - thus anything that can be thought is also possible to be created and anything that can be heard can be constructed on. Abbildung is about the infinities of sound - at microinfinitie and macroinfinitie levels. Digipak. [Cold Spring]

ABJECTION RITUAL -- "Futility Rites" -- CD -- €10
2015 Malignant Records, TumorCD89, (ltd. 500)
Death Industrial / Power Electronics. With 2 previously self-released CDr's, Erie, Pennsylvania’s Abjection Ritual grabbed our attention by creating a particularly bleak and virulent strain of death industrial that takes the unbridled, feral violence of American power electronics and combines it with the classic charnel house, necro-atmospherics of vintage Cold Meat Industry (BDN, MZ.412, In Slaughter Natives). Futility Rites is his proper debut, and it fully delivers on the promise and potential of earlier material... From the slow, caustic crawl of “Aversor”, “Entropic Embrace”, or “Tabernacle of Teeth and Tongues”, to the heavily mechanized grind, razor sharp frequencies and lurching physicality of the title track or “Objects of Wrath”, each of the 8 tracks here are impenetrably dark and filled with oppressive dread, culminating in a release that immediately propels Abjection Ritual to the front of the pack when it comes to malevolent, post-apocalyptic electronics. For fans of Steel Hook Prostheses, The Vomit Arsonist, Brighter Death Now, In Slaughter Natives... In 6 panel digipak designed by Brian Van Der Pol and mastered by J. Stillings, Steel Hook Audio. Lmtd 500 copies. Run time: 49 minutes. [label info]

ANEMONE TUBE -- "The Three Worlds - Allegory Of Vanity" -- CD -- €10
2017 The Epicurean, cure.17 / La Esencia, LER018/2017, (ltd. 300)
Industrial / Experimental / Noise. Far reaching pleasures will be at hand – Anemone Tube reveals a series of three CDs entitled “The Three Worlds: Allegory of Vanity / Forget Heaven / Vanity of Allegory”, referencing a cosmological treatise on the universe from the Theravada Buddhism of the 14th century, the subject matter of which is the description of three levels of existence of all beings and mythical creatures... This extensive retrospective release contains selected tracks from various tapes released between 1997 and 1999 - mostly rare and unavailable today - as well as yet unreleased tracks recorded between 1997 and 2013, a.o. outtakes from the “Death Over China” recordings, handpicked and recontextualized by Anemone Tube, representing the project’s roughest and most atmospheric material up to date, ranging from depressive ritual experimental ambient over dark rhythmic industrial soundscapes to whirlwind noise. ARGYRE PLANITIA -- "The Atomic Age" -- CD -- €10
2018 Essentia Mundi, EM045, (ltd. 300)
Dark Ambient. Well-crafted, dystopian dark ambient from Germany's Stefan Voss. To him the dark ambient genre has a great creative potential as this genre is more open to sounds and sound experiments than any other musical style - influenced by artists from the Berlin school as well as modern Industrial Dark Ambient. He uses a mixed setup of software and hardware to produce the dark ambient soundscapes here and in his live sets. "Unplug from the network while still possible. Embrace our hi-tech future, with a concept album that unites concepts like strong Artificial Intelligence, Internet Of Things and Cyber Humans and portrays a possible fatal outcome for humanity" Ltd x 300 copies in a digipak. ARTBREAKHOTEL -- "Radam" -- CD -- €10
2017 Tordon Ljud, TLCD01
Noise. Artbreakhotel is arguably the most well-known of Nobuo Yamada's monikers. Existing for over 10 years this is Artbreakhotel's first solo CD release after previous releases on labels such as Vitrine, Art Into Life, VLZ Produkt and more. What sets Artbreakhotel apart from many other noise projects is its meshing of raw junk noise and an almost psychedelic approach to noise to create, well, something resembling psychedelic junk noise? Moreover, on a related note, one cannot avoid the fact that despite the sometimes cacophonous nature of Artbreakhotel's work there is still a lot of clarity prevalent and this creates a possibility to get very close to the sound itself. You get a feeling that you are almost there - at the scene of action. On this album - "Radam" - Artbreakhotel shows his full range. From calmer, more abstract spells, to full on blasting. This is a demanding album but a rewarding one. [label info]

ASTRO & WINTERS IN OSAKA -- "Reverberating Forest" -- CD -- €10
2012 Phage Tapes, PT:198 / Dismantle Records, DIS-004, (ltd. 500)
Noise. The audio is what you would expect from this monster of a collab. Jennings, Finklea, Chami, Lippoldt and Hasegawa created one long slowly moving track of layered noises. The track starts out with ambient synth textures with drone guitars and evolves into a thick harsh assault on the senses with tape loops and broken electronics. [label info]

ATOMINE ELEKTRINE -- "The Antikythera Mechanism" -- CD -- €12
2019 Winter-Light, WIN 027, (ltd. 500)
Space Ambient / Experimental Electronics. "The Antikythera Mechanism" is the all-new studio album from Atomine Elektrine (aka Peter Andersson of Raison D'Etre). A container of all the knowledge about the universe. The motion of the gears deeply intertwine a link between micro- and macrocosm. A mechanism that simulates cosmology and senses characteristics of an eclipse, with colour, size and associated winds. Here we are invited or compelled even, to delve deep into the intricacies and finely tuned mechanics of this mysterious, all-encompassing machine. Infinitely extending it's influence across multi-dimensions of time and space, constantly calculating, cogs ever turning, gears whirring, mapping, learning, storing and moving ever onwards. Leaving in it's wake, a vast ocean of unimaginable cosmic events, left to ripple through time until they too fade away to become yet another click in the eternal cycle of "The Antikythera Mechanism". Noise. Three live recordings made in Helsinki and London in 2012-2014.
BLADH, MARTIN -- "Umbilical Cords" -- CD -- €10
2005 Segerhuva, seger 10
Industrial / Experimental. Segerhuva hereby presents the first solo recordings of Martin Bladh, who also resides in the acclaimed avantgarde group IRM and the more experimental unit SKIN AREA, both now widely known for their charismatic live-shows. This is a highly personal recording, which takes some firm mature steps further into physical essence and digs deep into the walls of the mothers utero with its hypnotic drones and drenching layers of organic sounds from cymbals, stringinstruments, accordeon and bass, all treated with great care and respect. Instrumental throughout, bicephalous in the way of screeching, shuddering sounds and drowsy in opposition. There is something strangely slippery about the recordings, a frightening, obtuse atmosphere embedded in silk and soft controlled feedback. Receivers take note: fully stunning in retro-spect. Are you in need of fetal life support? Take a journey through the body and experience the monotony and the pain of birth. [label info]

CHAOTIC BOUND SYSTEMS -- "Dissonanz" -- CD -- €10
2020 Evil Dead Productions, EDP 024
Dark Jazz / Experimental. This time I will be extremely brief: the one who manages to extract harmony from dissonance is a true master. The second album of the Yekaterinburg one-man project Chaotic Bound Systems is an example of true deep skill and genuine talent. Even more full-bodied, diverse and melodically more complex and multi-layered than the previous album "No light", but at the same time more transparent. Paradoxically, despite the abundance of instruments and their seemingly dissonant parts, the album has a lot of free space and air; there is not even a shadow of slowness and heaviness in it - which often happens with avant-garde jazz improvisations. Dissonance as a non-trivial and rare means of expanding the musical horizon, and consciousness. Depths and completeness of perception. [Providiy-137]

CLEW OF THESEUS -- "The Playground Of The Damned" -- CD-R -- €7
2008 Cipher Productions, (sic 41), (ltd. 100)
Noise. Recorded in 2002-2003, 'The Playground Of The Damned' was originally intended for Self Abuse's Solipsism sub-label, which unfortunately was ended before this disc could see the light of day. While a small artist edition disappeared into the ether, it's now finally time to bring 'The Playground Of The Damned' out from obscurity. The disc is a maelstrom of intense, engaging, finessed piece of harsh sonics with a heavier editing presence than other Clew Of Theseus releases, and mastered to painful perfection. 'The Playground Of The Damned' is the most focused, most tightly-wound, most intimidating release from Clew Of Theseus to date, carefully balanced with shorter ambient interludes and sample use. CLIMAX DENIAL -- "You're Never Safe" -- CD-R -- €10
2008 BloodLust!, B!110
Power Electronics / Noise. First full-length recording after the debut on 7" on same label. Comprised of nine pieces including a befitting cover version of the delightfully indelicate DEATHPILE song, "Breaking A Doll". "You're Never Safe" is an excellent showcase of the unique blend of power-electronics and death-industrial! But let's just call it music from now on, that Milwaukee, Wisconsin's Climax Denial, AKA Alex Kmet, is increasingly well-known for. This CD was skillfully mastered by Thomas Garrison (CONTROL, EXSANGUINATE) at Misanthrope Studios in Santa Cruz, California. [Old Europa Cafe]

CRONACA NERA -- "Carne E Carnefice" -- CD -- €10
2016 Old Europa Cafe, OECD 226, (ltd. 300)
Power Electronics. CRONACA NERA (“Black Cronicle” for English) is a three-headed Italian Industrial Power-Electronics Monster. The minds behind that monster are: Adriano Vincenti (MACELLERIA MOBILE DI MEZZANOTTE) - Analogic Synth and Voice, Giovanni Mori (LE COSE BIANCHE) - Analogic Synth, Andrea Chiaravalli (IUGULA-THOR) - Voice. CRONACA NERA was born from the mind of Adriano Vincenti as a side project of MACELLERIA MOBILE DI MEZZANOTTE in 2000. After several outputs in 2000-2001 the project felt in the dark coming back into life only 15 years later because of a meeting by Adriano Vincenti and Giovanni Mori, the two decided to give a new birth to that project and Giovanni became an official member of CRONACA NERA bringing new creative lymph to the project and exploring the Power-Electronics sounds of the 90s, especially the Italian one. The project was immediately focusing on a criminal imaginary made of extreme sex, crime, provincial squalor, erotic and pornographic obsessions combined with a philological rediscovery of Italian power electronics of the 90s and the exclusive use of analog machines of that era plus an obsessive attention for the faithful reproduction of those sounds... 2015 was the year for the release of an EP (Black Nylon Stocking Session) and a split with IUGULA-THOR (for that release named “Abrax Mortuary”) one of the legends of Italian power electronics. Andrea Chiaravalli (IUGULA-THOR) became officially a CRONACA NERA member just after that release with the beginning of the recording sessions of the “Carne e Carnefice” (“Meat and Executioner” for English) album… CRONACA NERA consider themselves as the heirs of ATRAX MORGUE, MAUTHAUSEN ORCHESTRA, MURDER CORPORATION, IUGULA-THOR, THE SODALITY, PROJECT DEATH, DEAD BODY LOVE, SADO VISION, SSHE RETINA STIMULANTS... “Carne e Carnefice” consists of 8 tracks, all of them devoted to a different and particular extreme sexual practice. No compromise, no experiments, only the rumors of humiliated flesh in the embrace of pleasure and pain. [label info]

DISFATUM -- "Death Instinct" -- CD -- €10
2019 Essentia Mundi, EM033, (ltd. 200)
Dark Ambient. 'Death Instinct' is the debut album of the Russian project DisFatum, which delights with dark ambient and black atmospherics, spiralling towards an absolute pureness - where nothing is needed nor nothing remains. Taking inspiration from Freudian psychology, this album suppresses the equilibrium of being by combining formless ambient drones and quietly sung vocals, harsher guitar and industrial ritualistic parts. 'Death Instinct' takes us on a dark journey within the confines of the psyche, which is trying to survive a world ablaze. It conveys a mirror reflection of the outside into the inside and a natural wish to escape from the material - non material to a superior position. A state from which there is no desire to return... ever. [label info]

Psychedelic Rock. By the valleys and the hills, by the spring transparent post-Soviet bird plains. Here is the children's homeland, here is the crusade of beasts, that's a great future. Residents of COD noir - Dvanov - have returned with a new Russian-language album. Belatedly, we present the CD version of the second album of the collective, combining the darkness of the Russian North and the chthonic longing of the South. Following in the tradition of the many great Italian artists who have worked with BloodLust!, including Mauthausen Orchestra, The Soldality, Iugula-Thor, Sshe Retina Stimulants, Sigillum S, Atrax Morgue, Murder Corporation, and Dead Body Love, I am pleased to release this new CD by Fecalove. BLOODYMINDED played five shows with this deviant, during our 2007 U.K. tour, and each night, I was struck by the unique performance style that I witnessed, as well as by the great blend of power-electronics and harsh noise that I heard. This CD offers a view of both the crystal-clear yet filthy sound generated by Fecalove, and the tasty and quite obscene artwork created by Nicola Vinciguerra. Davide Denvito is pursuing a certain musical path and with this release he proves he is able to transcend the confines of many music styles. He is very lucky as he's got his studio fully working thus giving him a certain liberty in creating. The potential of the music is great and we are very happy to have the debut album of him under our label. This is a very powerful album with a lot to offer. Throbbing distortions on their way to collapse with a forceful drive and aggressive vocal treatment. On previous releases, pieces have taken the forms of sample-built 4/4 stomps, snaky rhythm excursions in time signatures like 15/8, and abstract contours navigating a space which harshness and smoothness cohabit... Immune To Jewels collects plunderphonic pieces made between 1995 and 2011, from a miniaturized Finnish lullaby, via several pieces made while working for (and broadcast on) London’s Resonance FM, to a stamping on, or succumbing to, a cornucopia of sins. Sometimes source material has been manipulated a lot, edited, resampled, layered, effected or otherwise treated. In other pieces, large chunks of works have been placed in each others’ majestic presence, bringing about a result that is yet greater than the hum of its already sublime parts... The pieces hit the sweet spot between experimenting and entertaining. Ever wanted to hear what a collaboration between Pauline Oliveros and Claude Debussy might sound like? Here you go. How about a trinity of Maryanne Amacher, Christina Kubisch and Eliane Radigue? There you are. Fennesz and Mike Patton have played concerts together but haven’t released any studio recordings. Until now, that is. An anti-war dirge by Coil, Throbbing Gristle, Lightnin’ Hopkins and Tom Waits? Enjoy. Speaking of Waits, what if he sang like a black lady? Perhaps you’ll find out... CD in cardboard sleeve with insert. [label info]

MARHAUG, LASSE & DAN JOHANSSON -- "Distort Orgasm" -- CD -- €10
2012 Ljud & Bild Produktion, LBP008, (ltd. 300)
Noise. Sometimes there is this sensation: "I knew this was going to happen." It clicked right away when Dan mentioned they had initiated a collaboration with Lasse. I have a deep respect and decent knowledge of their past works, but I could not imagine what to expect (besides it being a first class job). Lasse is a chameleon-like collaborator and Dan has been firmly straying from the scorched domains of harshnoise. After a long and anxious wait, playing "Distort Orgasm" reveals a work where both artists’ contributions are sensible without being just trivially lumped together. Subtle yet recognizable components are carefully blended, both dudes left their fingerprints all over the place but the ensemble is too cohesive to be disassembled. There's Sewer Electionian decayed noir looming over the plains of the bulldozed ruins left behind by the Michelin Man of noise. In a way, it could be regarded as a downright back-to-basics album, but that would be daft oversimplification. Anyhow, one thing is clear: "Distort Orgasm" sits at the harsher end of either man’s oeuvre. Or in fact, of anyone’s. Rich and deep harsh noise by the two masters, what more to ask? [T. Keränen]

NAM-KHAR -- "Sur Chöd" -- CD -- €12
2020 Winter-Light, WIN 028, (ltd. 300)
Ritual Ambient / Drone. The Ritual/Drone collective Nam-Khar return to our Winter-Light label with their latest inner outing entitled 'Sur Chöd'. This is Nam-Khar's second release with Winter-Light, after the very successful and well received 'Secret Essence/Sangwa Dupa' album in 2018. The music has evolved... "Sur Chöd" is composed of 6 long-form pieces, each piece transforming and morphing in to a musical entity within it's own right. The traditional percussive elements are still there in the music, deployed in full force alongside more subtle uses of these instruments. It is the use of the drone and bass elements that have changed on this release. The small vacuous pockets which Nam-Khar use so well are soon filled with warm, thick drones, synthesised sweeps and enlightening cosmic sounds. It once again creates that space for the listener to move into for contemplation and reflection, to energise and focus through the welcome isolation space created by Nam-Khar's atmospherics. Pushing the inner-traveller ever further onwards, along different trodden paths... Ritual ambient, dark ambient, drone, industrial and subtle tinges of dark-jazz await the listener on this deep and diverse release from Nam-Khar. [label info]

OVRO -- "Id|entities" -- CD -- €10
2013 Some Place Else, SPEXIII059
Experimental / Plunderphonics / Dark Ambient. Id|entities took a LONG time to finish, at times with almost a year of not touching a track in between bursts of downright monomaniac activity. It all began with a sudden urge to start collecting samples: ”Go forth and sample!”. Not only usual field recordings, but samples from movies. Some were recorded straight from TV when the movie was on, some were nicked from movies in our DVD collection. There are bits from good movies, from bad movies, famous movies, obscure movies and everything in between – but all more or less from the horror et al genre (I wonder how that happened, heh). Sitting on quite a collection of samples, the idea of the forthcoming album’s concept started to take form: stories told by individuals (from latin, individuus, indivisible) – or perhaps by personalities existing within just one or two bodies. Some bits of older, unused lyrics from Mosaick the Serpent / Vipera Aurea work files found their home on this album and also shamelessly took stories told by uknown people, gave them an ovrian twist and made into a song. A bunch of stories told by different personalities. Whether the stories told are true, or just true to the one(s) telling them is left to the listener to deside. Whether there are one story-teller, or several – the same thing applies. Treat the whole as different side of one story and try playing them in different order to see if the story changes... ROTAT -- "Grease District" -- CD -- €10
2018 Freak Animal
Noise. ROTAT started doing obscure hand assembled tapes, mixing utmost vile perversion with demented humor. His early works was influenced by names like TAINT and SMELL & QUIM. This Finnish ripping noise savage did only two releases before Freak Animal was convinced that he needs actual full CD release. Carnal Beauty was published on CD and well received among fanatics of fierce noise. Project gained attention outside Finland, publishing further tapes on labels like Narcolepsia and Obsessive Fundamental Realism. Return under banner of Freak Animal comes in from of ”Grease District” CD. Sound is developed further. Razor sharp distortions, painful feedback and industrial-noise, very crispy sound what offers good variation from seemingly live takes of noise blasts to multi-layered and more complex structures. Spirit offers something that could file also under most savage power electronics, yet it would be safe to say what we have here is traditional good harsh noise album! [label info]

SATORI -- "The Hanging" -- CD BOX -- €10
2015 Tesco Organisation, TESCO 099
Industrial / Power Electronics / Dark Ambient. Dave Kirby formed Satori in the early 1980s with Rob Maycock, released music on the legendary Broken Flag label and then, just as quickly as they had arrived, stopped. Resurrected briefly to promote a retrospective CD "Infect" Dave and Justin Mitchell (Cold Spring Records) joined forces to blast a total wall of noise to unsuspecting gig-goers. Then Dave vanished. Justin along with new recruit Neil Chaney (Pessary) released the album "Kanashibari" in 2008. After touring the UK, Europe and Japan things went quiet again. Until now. Dave is back with ten new Satori tracks. Classic Power Electronics, Industrial and Dark Ambient soundscapes sculpted from a collection of alienating electronica, found sound and heavy drums. "The Hanging" marks both a new beginning and a continuation of a project now 30 years old but, most importantly, the chance to hear over an hour of brand new Satori. Comes in a box with 11 5"x5" cards: 10 with the track names and titles, and one double with information. [label info]

THEODOR BASTARD -- "Volch'ya Yagoda" -- CD -- €11
2020 Theo Records, THEO 008, (ltd. 500)
Folk Rock / Trip Hop / Darkwave. The long-awaited new Theodor Bastard album Volch'ya Yagoda is a major work the band has been working on for the past five years. Theodor Bastard albums aren't released very often, but they invariably attract increased attention of audiophiles and music critics... The multilayered and unpredictable album Volch'ya Yagoda inherits the band's recognizable multigenre approach where psychedelic trip hop combines with cinematic instrumentals and archaic world music meets modern technological electronics. Theodor Bastard combine Russian texts with glossolalia and shamanic spells as easily as they change instruments on stage. Yana Veva and Fedor Svoloch compose music not only within the band, they regularly record soundtracks for popular computer games. Over many years they have sharpened the art of weaving complex sound canvases where the listener feels like in a labyrinth... From album to album Theodor Bastard carefully and masterly combine many different exotic and traditional instruments. Volch'ya Yagoda is no exception. The special northern atmosphere of the album is created with Nordic nyckelharpa and jouhikko, primeval flutes created from tree roots and shamanic percussion. And as always, the leading role in the album belongs to the voice of Yana Veva, exciting and bewitching by its deepness... Volch'ya Yagoda takes the listener to the cold and twilight realms of marshy swamps of taiga and mossy tundra, to unexplored places where the earthly plane and the spiritual world are separated only by a very thin ghostly veil. For over twenty years Theodor Bastard have been known for their amazingly serious attitude to the world beyond that very frontier...Collector's edition of the album is released in a limited edition of 500 copies in a 4-panel digipak in original slipcase. The CD edition also includes an 8-page booklet with illustrations for the album. [label info]

The bumpy path with changes in the line-up resulted in a recording, filled with noise and feedback, made for the most insolence on a voice cassette recorder “over the air” (!). 7 songs dedicated to graffiti and terrain along the Yaroslavl branch of suburban trains. RADIOSON vs. KRYPTOGEN RUNDFUNK -- "Dissoluteness" -- C-40 -- €15
2020 NEN Records, NEN33, (ltd. 33)
Noise / Experimental. This collaborative product by [S] and M.M. is a black twin of their previous work [W]interloop[s]. If [W]interloop[s] is dominated by a filigree play of frequencies and a needle-frost coziness – “Dissoluteness” opens the door into anarchaos of technogenic frustration pressed by purposeful randomness... The recording comprises fragments of radio broadcasts, EV-phenomena living their own lives, haunting signals and phantom sounds. It almost took years to create the opus, as the experiment was very time-comsuming. All sources went through the tape again and again with one and only purpose – to amplify defects and artifacts to the utmost. Repeated re-re-re-recording of the phonogram resulted in a canvas of unpredictable landscape, woven from interferences of ornate structures... A modest masterpiece of degenerative arts and crafts, a discreet monument to unkown victims of psychotronic wars – in a form of an art object... 33 сassettes hide in a hard A6 book cover with an A5 instruction sheet (with partly highly classified information) fixed with a cord inside. Every of 33 sheets (the circulation is strictly limited) is numbered by hand. A black tape case with die stamping on both sides is attached to the cover with a 40cm hand cut twilled ribbon that evokes pleasant memories of medical bandages and tying up Soviet case files (for VERY special cases, no doubt). Cover artwork is produced in mixed techniqnes with deliberately limited use of digital instruments by Ivan Spitsyn (Nizhny Novgorod). [label info]

BARDO, IGOR -- "My Sweet Nightmare" -- CD -- €10
2011 Some Place Else, SPEXI057, (ltd. 250)
Igor Bardo is a Russian musician and sound artist. He is best known as the mastermind of Bardoseneticcube, which is one of the leading experimental/post-industrial groups from Russia. He describes his music as Surrealism: “Pure psychic automatism by which it is intended to express, either verbally or in writing, the true function of thought. Thought dictated in the absence of all control exerted by reason, and outside all aesthetic or moral preoccupations.” (Andre Breton)... My Sweet Nightmare is Igor Bardo’s debut solo album, containing about one hour of first class psychedelic electronic listening music. The surrealist soundscapes will be instantly embraced by fans of Bardoseneticcube, yet the artist manages to conquer heaps of new ground at the same time. Free from the burden of expectation related to the fame of his main band, My Sweet Nightmare has mr. Bardo take us on an adventurous journey deep down into the rabbit hole. Themes such as religion, psychedelia, sleep paralysis etc. are explored with eerie atmospheres, bliss-inducing frequencies and cutting edge studio experiments... Igor Bardo formed Bardoseneticcube in 1998. The group have released dozens of albums on various labels throughout the world, and their powerful audiovisual live performances have gathered fame in Russia, Europe and Scandinavia. Igor Bardo has also collaborated live and on record with numerous Russian experimental artists. [press-release]

BARDOSENETICCUBE + NOISES OF RUSSIA -- "New Orthodox Line" -- CD -- €10
2007 Some Place Else, SPECD07043, (ltd. 500)
New Orthodox Line brings together two of the most notable Russian post-industrial / experimental groups: Bardoseneticcube and Noises of Russia. This unique collaboration stirs the best of both artists to surface, and results in an extremely powerful and intense emotional experience. The opus travels from sacral soundscapes of orthodox choirs and church bells to a more punishing end of the sonic spectrum provided by pounding rhythms and howling feedback. Here, the opposites unite with passion and compliment each other for the sake of the greater good, the synergetic New Orthodox Line. [label info]

BIANCHI, MAURIZIO -- "Computers S.p.A. / Com.SA" -- 2 CD -- €10
1980/2010 At War With False Noise, ATWAR077, (ltd. 500)
Second in the At War series of early CD issues of tapes by noise legend MB. Both these albums are lofi, featuring very primitive use of synthesiser, tape loops and tape manipulation. There's a real charm and otherwordly feel to them, There's something very precient about MB's explorations into the computer world with his sounds on these records, particularly given the nature of most modern noise music and how nobody still has managed to replicate the feeling of his early works with the technology available. As ever, highly recommended to all with an interest in noise music and it's history. [press-release]
BIANCHI, MAURIZIO / M.D.T. -- "Genologic Technocide" -- CD -- €10
2006 Spatter, SPCD3 / Pagan Moon Organization, PGM009, (ltd. 500)

BIANCHI, MAURIZIO & MAUTHAUSEN ORCHESTRA -- "Material Modulations" -- CD -- €10
2012 Old Europa Cafe, OECD 165, (ltd. 300)
Industrial / Noise. Second and final collaborative work by MB [Maurizio Bianchi] & MO [Mauthausen Orchestra], recorded before the premature departure of Pierpalo Zoppo, the man behind Maurhausen Orchestra (R.I.P.). "In the modulatory system, sounds are extracted from a basic materialistic sound and then overlaid with the use of random techniques that conceal the rumoristic load-bearing tones. The result is these "Material Modulations", which represent the primary device to receive physical and emotional response for an informative frequency in everyday life." Limited edition of 300 copies in a Digipak.
BIANCHI, MAURIZIO & MAUTHAUSEN ORCHESTRA -- "Spiritual Noises" -- CD -- €10

Old-School Industrial: Maurizio Bianchi (M.B.) and Pierpaolo Zoppo (M.O. / Mauthausen Orchestra). "Creating noise is determined by the presence of an original particle to which randomly apply an alteration to convey a voltage-activated disturbing that determinates the electro-phonic perturbation. As a result we obtain the SPIRITUAL NOISES". Limited edition of 300 copies in a Digipak.

BIANCHI, MAURIZIO & ROADSIDE PICNIC -- "Dictatorship Of Dead Labour" -- CD -- €10
2014 4iB Records, 4iB CD/0114/006, (ltd. 250)
A collaborative release that features the imaginative efforts of Justin Wiggan’s (Birmingham) solo noise project Roadside Picnic, and Maurizio Bianchi (M.B.), an Italian pioneer of industrial music. This intriguing project marries Wiggan’s immersed expedition of field recording, samples, treated loops and drones, manifested through the calming nature of Maurizio Bianchi’s almost ambient soundscapes. Minimal layers of noise, radio frequencies, rhythmic recitals, textural electronic interference, abrasive gut-wrenching white noise, organic loops, harsh industrial, finishing with ambient trance-like aural echo. The final epiphany is how the line between art and music gets distorted through deeper exploration and discovery of space and void, demonstrating the disunion of parameters between sound and silence, everything and nothing. BIZARRE UPROAR -- "Mass / FF" -- CD -- €10
2013 Filth And Violence, FILTH&VIOLENCE-85 / Industrial Recollections
Mass CDr from 2001 was such a harsh noise bliss Freak Animal decided to re-issue it as 10" vinyl back in 2005. Now several years later, this material still stands pretty much unique in discography of Bizarre Uproar. All his trademarks elements of early days as well as material after 2005 is absent here. Instead you have highly textured, utterly heavy harsh noise wall! This CD re-issue include full uncut original recording (10" had few minutes missing) and as addition, extremely rare "FF" tape from 1999 what is nearly forgotten. It is hardly ever mentioned in any discograpy listings and artists himself had lost his copies. Luckily one copy remained in Industrial Recollections archives, this tape in blood drenched covers. Possibly made less than 20 copies represents perfect companion to "Mass", offering incredibly textured brutal harsh noise assault. In total over 50 minutes of playingtime stands as essential addition to anyone's Bizarre Uproar collection due it's unique approach. [press-release]

BLADH, MARTIN -- "Dirge; The Peter Sotos Files" -- CD -- €10
2008 Freak Animal Records, FA-CD-042
Martin Bladh of IRM with samples & spoken word from author Peter Sotos. [label info] "While I was working on the Swedish translation of Peter's excellent book Selfish, Little: the Annotated Lesley Ann Downey, I found that I couldn't get enough of this unsafe, highly personal world, and got the ugly idea to make my own piece based upon it. Since I love the buyer's marked material I asked Peter for the permission to do a recording centered on his private universe. He agreed and sent me a load of sound- and video clips, which he'd collected and put into context. I guess it's fair to call this album a conceptual piece, but I want to point out that it is foremost my own personal take on Peter's work and he should not be held responsible for anything I've done. Big thanks to Peter who made this recording possible. Martin Bladh, Norrköping, June 2008."

BOSMANN, KARL -- "Euphoria Mitte" -- CD -- €8
2010 Monochrome Vision, mv32, (ltd. 500)
With the whole bunch of very limited edition releases on such labels as Tosom, Domestic Violence Recordings, Verato Project and the luxurious LP made by Youdonthavetocallitmusic, the name of german musician Karl Bösmann is emerging since 2003. This is his second real CD after "Unton" (2005, Badbeatz Records) and includes several new compositions, showing the maturity and intensity of his prolific talent... Karl Bösmann (*1965) works and lives in Germany near Frankfurt. Karl Bösmann irritates. His name alone, which reminds of Kafka's wayfarer to America, Karl Rossmann, is ambiguous. A mixture of sinister and "typical german", where you can think of one of Alexander Kluge's "Case Histories", which show in particular austerity the deceitfulness of fate. In fact his debut "Das Kind in der K?che" (2004) exactly met this impression. Since 1999 he is working around a spectrum from avantgarde to contemporary music, playing with nearly all elements of these genres without sounding cliche'd. Musical influences range from AMM and Aube through Nurse With Wound and Organum to Ghe'dalia Tazarte`s and Xenakis, and so set his ambitions at a very high level. His soundscapes - published by labels such as Tosom, Domestic Violence Recordings, Verato Project and Youdonthavetocallitmusic - oscillate between programme music and abstraction, leaving no doubt about the maturity and intensity of his talent. In more prosaic words, Bösmann follows no rules. His impulse is to experiment, and to create timeless solid buildings of tones. Bösmann constructs, in the good old tradition of electroacoustic music, with instruments played by himself, and completely without the fashionable chic of a laptop: minimal repetitive passages, especially drones that vibrate in themselves, that flash, shimmer and take a character and 3D-quality of its own. Phill Niblock and Ligeti could come to the back of your mind, a resonance that is an honour to both sides. [Rigobert Dittmann, Bad Alchemy]

CONTAGIOUS ORGASM -- "Confession Of Mannequin" -- CD -- €10
1988/2009 Industrial Recollections, IR-CO2
Highly worshipped earliest material of the cult industrial-experimental band from Japan. This 2nd tape from 1988 (SSSM) shows a very different project to what CO is known to be today. You can see why they established in early 90s deals with many leading European Industrial / Power Electronics labels (Tesco, Ant-Zen, Praxis Dr. Bearmann etc). 45 minutes presented with original sound from metal master tapes without any modern day boosting gimmicks. Great dynamics and amazing quality. Covers include full re-print of all original tape artwork as it was. [press-release]
CONTAGIOUS ORGASM -- "Division And Combination" -- CD -- €10
2013 Phage Tapes, PT:199, (ltd. 500)
Rather rare and uncommon new CD by Contagious Orgasm, containing 5 tracks released on obscure compilations in the 90's and early 2000's as well as six (I guess new) tunes. "Division and Combination" is probably the most avant-garde and experimental Contagious Orgasm work in some time. While it still features a lot of field recordings and some surprising beatwork towards its beginning, the sound is more aerial, stripped and somewhat noisier, resulting in what might not be the easiest and straightest release from this musician, but also a very interesting one, as it presents a quite overlooked side of his talent. CREATION THROUGH DESTRUCTION & MAURIZIO BIANCHI -- "Nullification" -- CD -- €10
2017 4iB Records, 4iB CD/0816/028, (ltd. 250)
Serbian experimental harsh noise act Creation Through Destruction (Aleksandar Nenad) teams up with Italian Industrial maestro Maurizio Bianchi to create an industrial themed noisescape composed with analog equipment and treated with digital electronics... The basis of this album revolves around the churn of machinery and throbbing pulses of mechanized loops. The overall ambience of analog sounds derived from field recordings, tape loops, radio static from a compact stereo and a damaged vinyl ebb and flow through the various layers, exuding a bleak reality of an industrialized dystopia. DEADWOOD -- "Sheolic" -- CD -- €10
2014 Cold Spring, CSR163CD
The desolate new album from Sweden’s Deadwood (aka Daniel Jansson of CULTED). Recorded 2009-2011, “Sheolic” mixes dark ambient with black Industrial and power electronics, making this the bleakest Deadwood album to date. Cold, distorted waves of nefarious electronics, putrescent vocals and dense, heavy rhythms take you to a new sub-level of despair that delivers on many plains of consciousness. Influenced by the downfall of mankind and the men and women that willingly embrace it; from religious cults to those who choose to act on their own. This is the final part of the Deadwood trilogy for Cold Spring – beginning with “8 19? in 2005, continuing with “Ramblack” in 2008, and finishing with “Sheolic” in 2014. Cover art by Laetitia Mantis. FEAR KONSTRUKTOR / BARRIKAD -- "The Path To The Black Lodge" -- CD -- €10
2012 Peripheral Records, PR007, (ltd. 150)
Peripheral Records is proud to announce it's seventh release - Fear Konstruktor / Barrikad 'The Path to the Black Lodge', influenced by the Black and White Lodge from Twin Peaks. 'The Black Lodge is a fictional setting featured in the television series Twin Peaks. It is an extradimensional place which seems to include, primarily, the "Red Room" first seen by Agent Cooper in a dream early in the series. As events in the series unfold, it becomes apparent that the characters from the Red Room, the room itself and the Black Lodge, along with the White Lodge, are connected.' Four tracks of dark-ambient drone's and blasts of Soviet era analogue synth experimentations. At once a mysterious journey into the Lodge itself and a hallucinatory auditory trip into the darkside of the psyche! Highly recommended. [press-release]

FIRE IN THE HEAD -- "Screams for the Mute" -- CD-R -- €7
2005 Deserted Factory, DF028, (ltd. 200)
To get some more information on an artist, it's always good to look at their website. And when it comes to Fire in the Head, we see an indication for what we are about to hear when we look at the links-section: Guilty Connector, Slogun, Sickness, Control, Skullflower/Ramleh, Grey Wolves/Open Wound & Survival Unit. Fire in the Head can be labelled harsh noise, a type of music definitly not for the weak. For as far as I know, most artists in the genre are from America and Asia, but in Europe it's also being produced more and more. The genre is a little bit less 'constructed' as power electronics, but what it lacks in structure is made up for in agression. Provided you can handle the sounds, you can play this album on repeat. Every time you notice new layers and new depth within the tracks and after a few rounds, the beaty really reveals itself. 'Watch And Burn' is a great droney track, while 'Playing God' and 'Floodgate' are way more opressive in nature ('Floodgate' actually hurts a bit). The masterpiece on this album is the final track 'Through Jaded Eyes'. It's a beautifully created noisescape with a melancholic feel. The CD isn't really accessible for a larger audience, but it is definitly worth buying for noise-addicts and maybe also people who want to try out something without beats, but with a lot of power. [Bauke / Gothtronic]

GELSOMINA + NO XIVIC -- "Furnace" -- CD -- €10
2007 Some Place Else, SPECD07044
Furnace is an unlikely yet strangely natural union of no Xivic, renowned sculptor of dark electro-acoustic soundscapes, and Gelsomina, Finland's most prolific harsh noise artist. The title track, also the main piece on the album, is a live collaboration recorded in late 2006, a grand opus of psychedelic noise with a peculiar 'kraut' flavour! In addition to this, both artists created exclusive tracks on their own to complete the album. In total, Furnace is a 44-minute blast of fire, brimstone and hazardous electric currents, and thus a fine completion of Some Place Else's tenth year of activity. [press-release]

GNAWED -- "Feign And Cloak" -- CD -- €10
2014 Malignant Records, TumorCD79
Active since 2009, Minneapolis based Grant Richardson has solidified a reputation for creating a strain of death industrial and power electronics that’s particularly ferocious, visceral, and just insanely heavy. Alongside Nyodene D, The Vomit Arsonist, and Steel Hook Prostheses, Gnawed represents an act at the forefront of a genre, whose music is built on a European foundation, but is sculpted and heightened with American aggression and intensity. Despite numerous cassettes, splits, and compilation appearances, Feign and Cloak is just Gnawed’s second full length CD following 2012’s masterful Terminal Epoch (Phage Tapes), and sees Richardson continuing down a similar path, only having tightened the reigns, sharpened his focus, and honed his skills. Few artists are as adept or as capable at building tension and atmosphere as Gnawed, then releasing it in an onslaught of deep barreled percussion, pneumatic reverberations, scrap metal debris, and turbine fueled drones, the processed vocals resonating and slicing through the mix with force and rigor, the end result a perfect marriage of controlled chaos and structured composition. A modern masterpiece of true industrial music. In 6 panel digipak with matte finish. Artwork by Brian Vander Pol. [press-release]

GNAWED -- "Pestilence Beholden" -- CD -- €10
2016 Malignant Records, TumorCD97
Since its inception in 2009, Grant Richardson’s Gnawed has propelled itself into the top tier of heavy electronics and death industrial with a stream of high quality releases over a variety of formats. For his 3rd full length disc, Pestilence Beholden, the template set forth by prior works remains intact, but is dragged down into an even darker space, this time enriched by added layers of foreboding atmospherics and foggy ambience. Make no mistake, this is Gnawed through and through, but Pestilence Beholden is even more sculpted and refined than before, finding an intersection between tensile dread and controlled aggression, as ominous synth beds and throbbing drones are augmented with the cataclysmic reverberations, resonating scrapyard acoustics, and mechanized dirge you’ve come to expect. Recorded in industrial complexes in and around Minneapolis, the sound here is deep and immense, once again solidifying Gnawed in a category all their own. [label info]

1986/2009 Hospital Productions, HOS-247
Reissue of our personal favorite cassette-only release from the legendary UK industrial icon known as The Grey Wolves to celebrate their 23rd year of existence. Despite their power electronics fame, Judgement exhibits the dark rhythmic industrial and ritualistic minimal synth half rarely heard. Two side long oil slick tracks of filthy crumbling rotten beats hammer away with nihilistic chaos. Militant synth lines raise the occult flag. Ancient ethereal feedback howls voiceless language through the hallway of industrial fallout. The Grey Wolves are in the area! [press-release]

It's taken long enough but I'm chuffed to finally be doing a release with one of my favourite noise (I sue this in the loosest term) artists going around right now, Finland's Haare. This is total swirling psychedelia, incredibly heavy shifting tides of drone with evil organ lines permeating the noise. I can't better the description Haare himself gave it: "a slow, heavy bell". HELDENTOD -- "The Ghost Machine" -- CD -- €10
2012 Cold Spring, CSR131CD
Death Industrial / Power Electronics. Heldentod began in 2005 as an outlet for research into the little-known corners of 20th-Century history. While previous recordings whiplashed between the traditional and the experimental, Heldentod's latest album leaves behind its neofolk and martial-industrial roots to focus solely on electronics, but maintains the fundamental sense of composition found in earlier incarnations. Although now primarily influenced by death industrial and power electronics, Heldentod looks to create the most suitable expression of its key themes, including ghosts, ancestor worship, human sacrifice, neolithic fertility rights, Iron Age religion, medieval literature, unseen dimensions, inhuman intelligences, and all manner of Forteana. MAEROR TRI -- "Emotional Engramm" -- CD -- €10
1997/2012 Zoharum, ZOHAR 034-2
The reissue of a long-forgotten classic MAEROR TRI album with stunning new artwork and newly remastered sound. Back in 1997, it turned out to be the last album by this experimental trio of German droners composed of Stefan 'Baraka[h]' Knappe, Martin 'GLIT[s]CH' Gitschel and Helge Siehl. The former two later formed TROUM (Zoharum releases: "Autopoiesis / Nahtscato" and "Seeing-Ear Gods" (A Continuous Journey in Six Parts) and the latter 1000SCHOEN. During their nine-year existence, they recorded a handful of albums and cassettes with their unique mixture of minimalism, industrial, ambient and drone, exploring the brains of potential listeners. "Emotional Engramm" is MAEROR TRI 's most refined effort to date. After years of experimenting, the group came to a characteristic sound composed of layers of electrically/electronically-treated acoustic instruments. Their organic sound achieved the most accessible form on "Emotional Engramm";. Clocking in at just under 80 minutes, the seven tracks presented here show Maeror Tri at its best. The reissue is presented in a lavish 6-panel digipak designed by Marcin Lojek (Ibsen Design, New Nihilism label, Mantichora and Schmerz bands) with a foreword by Martyn Bates (EYELESS IN GAZA). The album has been faithfully remastered by Lukasz Miernik (Dead Cat Mastering). [press-release]

2009 Silentes Minimal Editions, sme 0930
A fantastic selection of archive materials from the “golden age” of Mathausen Orchestra, the Italian power-electronic project born in the early 80s from the mind of Pierpaolo Zoppo, recently back in full to his artistic activity (see also the other CD Silentes SME0932, Nimh/Mauthausen Orchestra: From Unhealthy Places). Coming as a wonderful digipack CD, these six tracks collected from his very first cassette releases (Murderfuck, Mafarka, Anal Perversion, Host Sodomy, From Homicide to Slaughter) are released in a completely restored and remastered edition that finally does justice in full to the incredible and futuristic visions of one of the most significant Italian experimental artists of the last thirty years. Unthinkable and apocalyptic sonic masses pushed to the extreme, an endless flux of strong emotions, a violent and devastating impact… Absolutely not to be missed. [label info]

MOLJEBKA PVLSE -- "Sadalsuud" -- CD -- €10
2007 Some Place Else, SPECD07040, (ltd. 500)
Mathias Josefson is a sound-artist from Stockholm, Sweden, and currently attending the royal university college of fine arts. His main project is Moljebka Pvlse, which is an experimental music group that works with both electronic and acoustic instruments, as well as with field recordings and found sounds. What comes out is hypnotic and meditative soundscapes. Over the years Moljebka Pvlse has performed live in Canada, Finland, France, The Netherlands, Slovenia, Sweden and the U.S. Mathias has, mainly as Moljebka Pvlse, released several albums on many different labels, such as Cold Meat Industry, Eibon Records and his own Isoramara label. Some Place Else is proud to release the new album by Moljebka Pvlse, entitled Sadalsuud. For this album, Mathias collaborated with a number of his colleagues who provided him various source sounds to work with. The name Sadalsuud refers to a star of the same name in the constellation of Aquarius. The name comes from an Arabic phrase meaning "the luckiest of them all". Nevertheless the album is rather earthy-sounding, yet mystical and surreal, almost claustrophobic at times. The sound is vaguely reminiscent of some works by Nurse With Wound, Maeror Tri or The Hafler Trio, but carries the trademark Moljebka Pvlse feel. An unsuspecting pre-listener described Sadalsuud as "a visit to a supposedly haunted house, though only once you've entered the house you begin to grasp the real meaning of haunting." [press-release]

NARBENERDE -- "BPD" -- CD -- €10
2002 Art Konkret, ART 32, (ltd. 500)
After several releases like a CD-R on VEP and a 7inch in the USA the first CD release of NARBENERDE on Art Konkret is ready for the interested audience. The three tracks are a great mixture of all kinds of post-industrial music, with lots of different sides. It starts with bits of power electronices and changes to ambient sounds mixed with cut-ups. Mysterious cold sounds representing a kind of Death Industrial together with distorted vocals and echoing noises. The work is an excellent sound exploration produced on a high standard. The more death industrial oriented material casts a spell over the listener. It.s difficult to put this surprising structured recording in any drawer of the wide industrial culture genre. This conceptual album has a total runnung time of 61 min. [label info]

OVRO -- "Gegendurchgangenzeit" -- CD -- €10
2005 Some Place Else, SPECD05034
Ovro‘s second album, released in October 2005, entitled Gegendurchgangenzeit, is an ”unplanned album”. This release could be classified under dark ambient and is an exercise on aural pathworking. It is constructed to be listened through at one go with the track titles intended to be used as possible guidance on the way, hinting at stages of visions through the imaginary journey. Why call this ”unplanned” ? Well, that is exactly what it is, as the sound material started pouring out and demand to be released. Originally this demand was satisfied by ”releasing” the album as a very, very limited edition of only one copy (the artist herself does not have a copy of it!), which was given away as a gift. The owner of the original copy, Some Place Else frontman Niko Skorpio felt the CD deserving a larger audience and talked Ovro over to release the album officially. [press-release]

OVRO -- "Mosaick the Serpent / Vipera Aurea" -- CD -- €10
2006 Some Place Else, SPECD06038
The new Ovro album consists of two distinct parts, each independent yet linked to each other. Ovro started working on Mosaick the Serpent already in late 2003. In the early stage it was to become an independent EP, but the appearance of Gegendurchgangenzeit delayed its release. Meanwhile, a companion EP started to take form, namely Vipera Aurea. These two EPs, Mosaick and Vipera, are twins – independent yet entwined like the snakes of a caduceus. They support and compliment each other and form a new whole, a third being that contains both its makers and in itself is something more. Vipera Aurea is "coagula" to Mosaick the Serpent's "solve". Some of this material has been performed on Ovro's live performances in 2005/06. Those lucky to have witnessed any of these will know the album is calm yet intense, vocal-flavoured Dark Ambient mindscapes in the highly regarded Ovrian style. Mosaic the Serpent / Vipera Aurea features contributions from Massimo of Black Sun Productions, Niko Skorpio and Mockingwyrd (Kaaos in Eccentris etc). Mosaick the Serpent / Vipera Aurea CD comes with two gorgeous 12-panel foldout sleeves, full of lyrics, liner notes, photos and artwork all created by Ovro herself. [press-release]

OVRO -- "Revisited" -- CD -- €10
2008 Some Place Else, SPECD08047, (ltd. 1000)
The wondergirl of Finnish dark ambient soundscapes is back with a new album. Revisited is based on field recordings made during Ovro’s tour in Russia in 2006, subsequently processed and treated in the studio. Revisited is a powerful aural travelogue. It will lull the listener to a state of receptive trance, and then starts working on the subconscious mind. Let yourself go, lose yourself in the sound, expect lucid dreams, out-of-body experiences, alien apparitions and a shower of sound massaging your body throughout. CD is packed in beautiful 4-panel digisleeve. Edition of 1000 copies. Revisited is loosely related to Estraier, a 2006 EP of which only a handful of copies were given out. Compared to Estraier, Revisited is extended, mutated and more elaborate throughout. While the beginning is similar, the paths taken turn out somewhat different and thus the outcome is all new. PROPERGOL -- "Program Vengeance" -- CD -- €10
2005 Malignant Records, Tumor CD 21
Finally, Propergol's 5th CD has been born …with a vengeance. Program Vengeamce continues in the great tradition set forth by previous works, this time offering up 17 tracks totaling 71 minutes of sonic turbulence. Like being in the mind of a schizophrenic moments before the killing spree…the voices growing, the hallucinations building to maniacal levels, the inner chaos too much to bear…until, finally, an eruption. A recording that's full of sensoryoverload, with the levels pushed to extremes, the noise ultra saturated, the atmospheres menacing and combustible, and the obsessive rhythms full of beautiful distortion and aggression. In the end, a sense of anguish, a feeling of despair…a mind locked away to contemplate it's actions. As always, sample heavy, but an integral part of the power that is Propergol, and adding to the sense of madness and pandemonium that permeates this release. [press-release]

RAPOON -- "Offworld OP1 Equs: Mercury Rising 2" -- CD -- €12
2018 Winter-Light, WIN 018, (ltd. 300)
In celebration of his 25th Silver Anniversary, we are releasing a trilogy of new work from Rapoon entitled ‘The Mercury Rising Trilogy’. The Mercury Rising Trilogy will comprise of three brand new studio albums, all with exclusive material. The albums will bring a new feel to Robin’s work, that of a more off world spacious feel, jazzy in parts with a ceremonial thread running throughout. Each album interlinked by this feel and theme, as the titles suggest, but with each one still having it’s own unique identity... Here we present to you the second installment of the Mercury Rising Trilogy - 'Offworld OP1 Equs'. The trilogy began with 'Sanctus Equinox', released through Winter-Light in November 2017. The journey now continues....... Every 150 years the moons align and block out the light entirely from the small inhabited planet of Offworld OP1. Too cold even for the androids to survive they move en-masse to the farthest moon Celios and wait out the winter in the relative warmth. The ice crystals in the nearby gas planets rings reflect the meager light of the far sun and throw rainbows down to the surface of Celios… a sign… The androids have built their shelters in the shape of the six pointed star with a circular perimeter representing the outer rings of home system Saturn and the sun that moved. Looking back along the aligned moons they diminish in intensity until Offworld is just a shadow, a memory. Waiting. It will take six months before the the first light shines again on Celios and another six before the androids will return. Celebrations await that return…. for now there is only the slow resignation of winter and a promise of it’s end... Spacious synth sweeps glide through the air, whilst icy piano tones play out, filling the spaces with crystallised sounds. Drums crack and fall away, a lo-fi saxophone plays a sombre song to itself, as alien voices raised to the skies chant the mantras of a temporarily dislodged Offworld race of sentient beings. 2019 Winter-Light, WIN 023, (ltd. 300)
Space Ambient / Electronics. In celebration Rapoon's 25th Anniversary, Winter-Light are releasing a trilogy of exclusive new studio work entitled 'The Mercury Rising Trilogy'. 'Sol Laude' concludes the trilogy, thundering its way through the universe, leaving its impression trailing across the cosmos like a giant comet's tail. Deep industrial, space ambience and majestic choral bursts are interspersed with retro sci-fi electronica, emotive piano elements and off-world jazz. "The replicants have followed a well known path. Disagreements and divisions began to grow and sectarianism proceeded to develop. Soon it was an all out war of religious intolerance. Fighting took place and many died. Quietly, and without being noticed, those who held no radical religious beliefs gathered their things and slipped away in small ships and set course for a new life somewhere far away from the division and hatred that had developed in what was once a united community. They journeyed for many years and eventually found somewhere new. An indigenous lifeform of primitive primates seemed to be the most advanced species on the warm planet with blue seas and green forests. It was almost Utopia". Ltd x 300 copies in a 6-panel digipak. After hearing this great recording of ROTAT, Freak Animal decided that merely around dozen copies as self financed tape isn't enough. What we have here, is full length CD version of Carnal Beauty. Unusual case in Finnish noise at this era, announcing influences like TAINT and SMELL & QUIM. Providing both sleaxy and grim as well as deranged sense of black humor. It is hard to put ROTAT into narrow category. It goes from harsh and brutal noise to power electronics, with lots of primitive sounds and electronic damage. It is ugly and disturbing recording. 2019 COD noizes, SHUM19
Industrial. We continue cooperation with British industrial veterans Satori and have prepared another Satori release entitled “Psychopathology”. This is not a new album. In the opposite, this is a complete retrospective collection of early works from 80-ies released on cassettes by Broken Flag and Mindscan Tapes and by musicians themselves. Some tracks was lost for the long time and have never been released before. All tracks have been remastered for this release. Maybe some tracks still sound unbelievably amateur, but we have resisted the temptation to remix them. Because all of them preserved a spirit of the “golden” period of post-industrial music with its pure experimentation and absence of nowadays “industrial” cliche. And now, along with “Infection” compilation released by Tesco Organization in far 1995, you can get the full early discography of this outstanding project. [label info]

SEKTOR 304 -- "Soul Cleansing" -- CD -- €10
2009 Malignant Records, TUMOR CD43
Equipped with a frightening and impressive array of primitive instrumentation pulled from junkyards and scrap metal heaps, this Portuguese outfit has delivered an astounding formal debut - a heady mixture of truly old school industrial in the vein of Einsturzende Neubauten, Test Dept, and S.P.K., and the grinding, bass heavy dirge of vintage Swans and Godflesh. These are anthems to the past, but geared towards an apocalyptic and bleak future… a form of counter-culture using what is most evident in modern western society: the debris, the abandoned objects, the waste, the noise, and the interference... With a solid foundation of rusty, oil drenched percussion, Sektor 304 adds layer upon layer of squalling industrial clangor, hammering metallic noise, grimy atmospheres, heaving masses of haunted factory drones, and threatening tribal batter, with a strong and commanding vocal presence. The sound here is almost physical in nature - provocative, persistent, and demanding. No one is doing what Sektor 304 is doing right now. Anyone into TRUE industrial (and that includes not just the aformentioned old guard, but also things like Strom.ec, Militia, Negru Voda, and Knifeladder) really should not miss out. In 6 panel digipak, mastered by Steel Hook Audio. [press-release]

SIX DEAD BULGARIANS -- "The Flat Polish Holes: Mystery Of The Black Box" -- CD -- €10
1996/2017 COD noizes, SHUM103
Industrial / Experimental / Old School. "The Flat Polish Holes: Mystery Of The Black Box" is one of the darkest works of Bulgarians, imbued with some absolutely transcendental dark melancholy and suicidal drive. "Mystery Of The Black Box" as the key to the door of Death, where each will find his own personal hell. The avant-garde lo-fi songs "Lullaby" and "Eesona", bordering the kitsch, is replaced by volumetric ritual ambient canvases, as if illustrating the contrast of The Being where rotting corpses on Golden Thrones are mixed with homeless, which steals cat canned food on the background of white smiles of pop stars. Especially distinguished is the track "New Boots" (the absurdity of names is a firm feature of Bulgarians, however, emphasizing their relationship with the Russian literary avant-garde of the Silver Age), which creates a landscape of certain prenatal State where all is equal: the absolute knowledge, and the absolute fear, and the inhuman peace. As for the "Allergy" track — it can be called one of the first Post-Soviet experience in the "death industrial" genre... Connoisseurs know that this project is a milestone in the history of the Russian underground, one of the founders of Post-Soviet industrial, example of uncompromising musical avant-garde, sonic experimentation and manipulation with mind... The first and only official edition of the legendary records. [label info]

SIX DEAD BULGARIANS -- "The Freaks: No Violence Over The Individual" -- CD -- €12
1995/2017 COD noizes, SHUM102
Industrial / Experimental / Old School. "The Freaks: No Violence Over The Individual". Already in the title of the album it reveals the branded "Bulgarian" irony, with which the authors set off a painful traumatic sound, designed to open the psychic shell, like an old furuncle. The sound became tougher, more aggressive and darker. And the postmodern game with ridiculous names of compositions, like "Agrarian Question", "It Was A Man Of Years Of Fifty", etc. only "knocks" the listener out of the way, breaking the usual boundaries of perception, since in this album appear a serious approach to sound, appeal to ritual elements and psy-ambient with the dominance of metal percussion. As the closest analogue can be called the early work of Zoviet France and Nurse With Wound... Connoisseurs know that this project is a milestone in the history of the Russian underground, one of the founders of Post-Soviet industrial, example of uncompromising musical avant-garde, sonic experimentation and manipulation with mind... SIX DEAD BULGARIANS -- "It’s Not Fearful In The Bunker" -- 2 CD -- €12
1996/2017 COD noizes, SHUM104
Industrial / Experimental / Old School. "It's Not Fearful In The Bunker". When listening to this album, it seems that it was recorded directly in the production shops of the dying Soviet colossus or in the crematoriums smelling of stinking stench and soot. Hysterical laughter and pain, screaming and whispering against the background of a paranoid collage of mechanical percussion, prehistoric noise, ringing of music boxes, children's rhymes, sirens of civil defense, samples from movies and grave ambient. Its sound is like a revived carnivorous wall newspaper that devours your mind. The most satirical and wicked work of the Bulgarians. If the Post-Soviet industrial has its own business card, it is "It's Not Fearful In The Bunker"... Connoisseurs know that this project is a milestone in the history of the Russian underground, one of the founders of Post-Soviet industrial, example of uncompromising musical avant-garde, sonic experimentation and manipulation with mind... SIX DEAD BULGARIANS -- "Marazm;a" -- CD -- €12
1995/2017 COD noizes, SHUM101
Industrial / Experimental / Old School. "Marasm;a" is the earliest sound work of the Bulgarians, bringing down on the listener an avalanche of technogenic psychosis and postmodern satire, quite in the spirit of the early Throbbing Gristle and Industrial Records. That just worth it a reversed song "Ohrana" (means "Security") from the cult Soviet cartoon "The Bremen Musicians", which Bulgarians turn into the Bulgarian folk song "Onarkho". In its atmosphere, the album goes back to the roots of Soviet industrial, namely to the album "Playing the Airplane Under the Bed" of the unforgettable project "Communism". Psychedelic voice samples, vibrations of analog synthesizers, imitation of throat singing, cassette loops, factory noises, robot marches and moans of biomechanical prostitutes. At the same time, all this abundance of anti-music streams is given in very adjusted doses, not merging into a formless mass. Conceptualism in action... Connoisseurs know that this project is a milestone in the history of the Russian underground, one of the founders of Post-Soviet industrial, example of uncompromising musical avant-garde, sonic experimentation and manipulation with mind... SKORPIO, NIKO -- "Psilocybe Necrophila" -- CD -- €10
2009 Some Place Else, SPECD09052, (ltd. 418)
Niko Skorpio's new album is called Psilocybe Necrophila, referring to a psychoactive mushroom that grows on decomposing flesh. Although recorded mostly in 2007, parallel to last year's acclaimed Half Born in Half Light, it is quite a different trip. The basis of this work was Niko Skorpio's old cassette tape collection from the 1980's. Containing mostly heavy metal demos and live bootlegs, the dozens of kilometres of obsolete tape were sacrificed on the altar of creation. Does consciousness survive decomposition? Magnetic tape — as a symbol of DNA — was deconstructed, cut, mangled, eaten and torn apart by a number of malfunctioning cassette players. These emerging mutations were captured, processed and reconstructed, over and over until a new form began to take shape. Carefully chosen and prepared additional ingredients were then introduced to this primal tissue in order to impregnate it with a new kind of energy. Metaphorically speaking, soul was injected into the golem. As is common with Niko Skorpio's works, the album works thematically on many levels. On the immediate surface it reflects a surreal journey to the deepest chasms of inner space, where — quite unexpectedly — one may find herself in wholly unfamiliar surroundings. And what's more, one may not find herself alone anymore, but instead, communicating with something unknown. And it always gets the darkest just before dawn. But whatever happens, eventually the dawn comes. In the end we return to where it all began, but affected, observing that things will never be the same again. Some call Psilocybe Necrophila a "death album". Skorpio agrees and adds: "It can be perceived as symbolising the process of death and reincarnation. Besides, it is likely to remain the last 'conventional' album from me in the foreseeable future, so calling it a 'death album' has certain appeal." [press-release]

SKULLFLOWER -- "Fucked On A Pile Of Corpses" -- CD -- €10
2011 Cold Spring, CSR151CD
The most remorseless, brutal Skullflower ever! Alternating between granular lo-fi primitive rock and granular lo-fi primitive Power Electronics, this taut disc is a chain mail glove of hate to any lazy minds who've tainted the air with describing Skullflower as 'psychedelic'. But that's not to say this is an all out total assault. There are also moments of tender acoustic balladry, its just that they don't exist. The remorseless brutal sound is primitive, but as detailed and rich as a blood soaked medieval canvas, somewhere betwixt The Rita and Clandestine Blaze, but more brutal! Long live the New Flesh! Kether is in Malkuth, Malkuth is in Kether, but in a different way... [press-release]

THEODOR BASTARD -- "Beloe: Hunting For Fierce Beasts" -- CD -- €10
2010 Twilight Records, TW 1.71
Theodor Bastard is one of the most successful contemporary Russian music collectives. The history of the band goes from the late 1990’s. The band works between genres that can be defined as world music, darkwave and trip-hop. The trademark of the band is the unique voice of Yana Veva and unimprovable sound-producing by Fedor Svolotch. Yana Veva has a rare vocal timbre and she uses a special vocal technique that refers to Arabic and Indian vocal tradition. "Beloe" (in Russian it means ‘whiteness’) is about the inner purification – struggle with demons existing in all of us. The album is in Russian and filled with Russian folk motives. Maria Akimova plays gusli in some of the compositions. As the session musicians Mila Fedorova (cello), Eugene Fedotov (guitar), Elena Tishina (harp) and Boris Bardash from Ole Lukoye took part in recordings. [Fulldozer]
TROUM -- "Seeing-Ear Gods" -- CD -- €10
2006/2011 Zoharum, ZOHAR 017-2
'Seeing-Ear Gods' is the second collaboration between Troum and Zoharum. The album in question is the re-release of the obscure CDR which saw the light of the day 5 years ago on Discorporeality Recordings label. Here it is repackaged (3-panel digipak) and gloriously remastered by Anders Peterson (from Ghost Sounds mastering studio) responsible for dusting off other Troum / Maeror Tri releases. 'Seeing-Ear Gods' is quite different a release from 'Autopoiesis / Nahtscato' released on Zoharum last year. It's not as multilayered or varied, but at the same time is much more minimalist and hence very hypnotic. It works more on the subconscious level. It demonstrates how to create a mindblowing atmosphere with very little sounds involved. Just one track, divided into 6 separate parts, but be assured that you will press the 'repeat' button a lot of times. [press-release]
