ALTIERI, CORRADO / GIANLUCA FAVARON -- "To Found" -- CD -- €10
2020 St.An.Da., 2018, (ltd. 200)
Experimental. To find again sequences, sounds and samples, previously elaborated for other works and live performances, decontextualizing all of them to create new original material. These are the starting points for "To Found", the third release by Corrado Altieri and Gianluca Favaron on a Silentes label, devoted to all-round experimentation and stylistic contamination through the multiple languages of electronic sound. Drone music, post-Techno rhythmic disintegrations, suggestions of the old Industrial school, field recording, abstract echoes and noise pulsations, for eight hypnotic compositions created between Cagliari and Treviso, with the precious collaboration of Anacleto Vitolo. BECUZZI, GIANLUCA -- "The Bunker Years (2006-2014)" -- CD -- €10
2019 St.An.Da., 1917, (ltd. 200)
Dark Ambient / Experimental. In wartime, the bunker is a special type of shelter where you can protect yourself from the enemy's military attacks. I purposely translated the original meaning of the bunker, intended as military architecture, according to my idea of a protected area. In this sense, bunkers can be any private place where one determines one's isolation. Bunker is a physical space created to organize useful materials, reflect, conceive, design and create in total autonomy. From this concrete dimension, the bunker then goes on to trace an existential boundary, a dimension of the mind, a feeling and feeling other-than-the-rest that is outside. Bunker is a self-exclusive perimeter of inner resistance, a refuge from the outside world, from its rules and its conditioning. Bunker is the critical observatory, the secret hermitage from which to fight one's personal war against reality, when it becomes unacceptable, against its manifestations of idiocy and vulgarity. Bunker is the place to sublimate the incurable disagreement in divergent vision, generativity and art. I, my friends and those who have been with me during this time, we called the bunker the house / studio where I lived and produced music for years. [from the author]

BI NOSTALGIA -- "The King In Yellow" -- CD -- €10
2019 St.An.Da., 1912, (ltd. 100)
Ambient / Electronics. Insipred by the Psychological Horror stories of Robert W. Chambers. The idea of an imaginary soundtrack for "The King in Yellow" started in the early 80's. The Robert W. Chambers story collection has been one of my favorite readings ever and I read it from time to time, always discovering new nuances. Finally after many years I recorded "King in Yellow", trying to capture the most chiaroscuro nuances and adapt it to reading the book itself. "King in Yellow" embodies past and present, mystery and fantasy, pre-autumn landscapes and whispers at sunset. Partly recorded in Malosco (province of Trento) where the paths of the woods have inspired walks and sound ideas, much of the sound material has been sketched out on sunny days in the mountains. Then finish recording and mixing at Room Studio at the end of summer. [from the author]

DEISON / KK NULL -- "Yugen" -- CD -- €10
2019 St.An.Da., 1916, (ltd. 200)
Experimental. Ten years after their first collaboration ("Into", Silentes, 2009) KK Null and Deison are back together with "Yugen", a new work exploring darkness and controlled chaos through deep and dense sounds. Pulsating and fractured electronics are mixed with an eerie atmosphere of clunks, broken tribal drums and hovering electronic tones... KK Null is a Japanese composer, guitarist, singer, mastermind of ZENI GEVA. One of the top names in Japanese noise music and in a larger context, one of the great cult artists in experimental music since the early 80's... Deison has been crafting experimental and noise sounds for more than two decades, operating with loops, field-recordings and drones to develop swirling electronic sounds of enormous range and complex musicality. He has worked with Lasse Marhaug, Teho Teardo, Thurston Moore, Scanner, Mingle and Maurizio Bianchi in many releases... The word 'Yugen' expresses a particular experience of reality, of the world in which we live. [label info]

ENTRE VIFS -- "Offrande Et Partage" -- CD -- €12
2019 Aussaat, 10
Industrial / Noise. An album marking the 2018 resurgence of bruitists Entre Vifs, and the culmination of concentrated sessions at their Noisecraft Workshop in Maisins-Alfort, France. "This is an angrier album than Ontologie, it doesn't let you zone in on the massive assaults of electronic and metal noise, it shifts around too much, you're frequently pulled in and moved around with the work. The destructive qualities of the album literally create cracks to let the light in... were they always this good, or did it take decades to get this good? Epic album, ace progression" (1208 North Fuller Ave Apt 1). Over 70 mins of music accompanied by a 12-page booklet containing images of landscapes, architecture and shots documenting Entre Vifs self-made electronic devices that make up their sounds. [Cold Spring]

ENTRE VIFS -- "Ontologie" -- CD -- €12
2018 Aussaat, 06
Industrial / Noise. With "Ontology" Entre Vifs offer a selection of extracts from their best recent sessions. Each of these excerpts has been cautiously positioned by the authors, so that they appear like bruitist pieces, composed with care, even though all of these pieces are played live. A symphony of noises, extremely varied in intensity and frequency, where one can distinguish the sound detached from its original source. Entre Vifs' noise generators are delicate and relatively small in size, but the sounds they produce through mechanical means are captured by electric guitar pickups and piezoelectric cells, then sent to a battery of amplifiers and homemade effect processors. The sound is huge, with a stereophonic depth effect where sonic masses seem to thicken and change continuously. Digipak. [Cold Spring]

LAST INFLUENCE OF BRAIN -- "Insomnicons" -- CD -- €10
2020 Aliens Productiont, AP 48, (ltd. 200)
EBM / Industrial. It has been more than 10 years since this Slovak ebm cult put down his sonic tentacles with the album Two Faces under our label. Long years of silence and dedication to the production of their side projects, this trio now returns with a pretty big load. L.i.o.b. is back and again abbots in the waters of the dark and machine ebm. Strong sound and a combination of industrial structures and analog noises in which you feel the Canadian school will kick you right from the start. Precise sound and analog passages strike like a hammer on the head, all under the baton of the great Ken Hiwatt Marshall (Skinny Puppy, F.L.A.) who took care of the sound and even had time to do one remix so the work is perfect and sophisticated with the best what the EBM scene can offer today. Catchy rhythms, powerful sound experiences and melodic lines. Full of industrial noises and catastrophic atmospheres. New LIOB is back! Full of the power of new ideas and screaming vocals. Pulsing and ravenous electronics made in Slovakia. New material presented by this Hlohovec trio will certainly be sympathetic to fans who like the sound of bands such as: F.L.A., Skinny puppy, Numb ... Slovak-Canadian collaboration strikes with its charm and brings a massive and ravenous concept to the electronic community. Limited digipack edition to 200 copies. [label info]

NAVIA -- "Interzone Report / Among Two Edges" -- 2 CD -- €14
1998/2019 COD Noizes, SHUM22, (ltd. 97)
Lo-Fi / Industrial / Dark Ambient. The 90-ies was very hard times for Russian land. The country in a ruin without any war. The same ruin possessed the disoriented minds of Russian people. And from this illed ruined minds very special musical projects have been grown. One of these projects was Navia (Ънавь in Russian) started as a collaboration of friends later became a solo project of Evgeniy Savenko (nowadays known for its projects Lunar Abyss, Ritualnaya Bioingeneria, Boevye Cikady, Pustota and others)... In different times many famous personalities took their part in the Navia forges - from Hladna, Blazebirth Hall, Dreved, Blackdeath and other obscure and cult Russian acts. The music they played was like the time they existed: dark, desperate, lost and disoriented. All compositions, semi-improvised, was recorded live on magnetic tape without any electronic effects and post-production in the absolutely darkness in the catacombes of a half ruined in the 90-ies Konstantin Palace near old imperial capital of Russia Saint-Petersburg... Reverence towards the British Esoteric Underground of 80-ies with a Black Metal esthetics multiplied by the chthonic Russian spirit, raw and sometimes ritual black industrial, black metal without black metal... We proudly present the first release of the cycle issued by the agreement with Evgeniy Savenko - "Interzone Report / Among Two Edges". Very first time on a professional physical format. First time ever published digitally. The pure historical document as it is. [label info]

NECRO STELLAR -- "The Tunes of the last Essence" -- CD -- €10
2016 Shadowplay Records, SPR 156
Electro / Darkwave / Psychedelic Rock / Experimental. The new album’s name – «The tunes of the Last Essense», following the example of Tibetan Book of the Dead – Bardo Thodol quote, illustrates the absence of any sound field importance, being the primary tone of the Absolute and being absorbed by the multi-sounding hum of the universe in the syllable – AUM. The given album, as well as all other, seems to be the material of a various genres and experiments with composition. This makes the album a purely esthetic dainty. Here electro sound skips to Rock and speed, almost punk crossover. Stately ballads in the picture of psychedelic rock with academic and barocco arrangement merge with Electroacoustic, noise and industrial. Merry cabaret melodies adjoine parody of music by Soviet composers, etc. In a number of songs, harmony is built by multilayered gnashing microtonal feedback loops, spontaneously generated by sound processing effects, deepen by a bit crusher and ringmodulation. This makes the music a real cybernetic action, where the human role is reduced from the position of the creator to the level of an operator of automatic systems. Here you will not find teenager loverock from a supermarket, played by thin-legged hipsters in jeans tights, and a cheap VST computer programming, which pop and ordinary bands use. Like all the previous work, the new album was recorded almost solely by Yuri Zvezdniy on the authentic vintage equipment, without any computer sounds. Except the plurality of analog synthesizers and organs, vocoders and harmonizer, spring reverbs and tape delays, we hear in this album a lot of the metal percussion, forged in Zvezdniy’s smithy, which sometimes replaces the rhythm section. The handmade cymbals and 25 inch gongs forged of a bronze sheet, purchased at Meinl factory, are side by side with multi-zone metal cymbals welded with horns and a spring inside. The album is recommended to be listened to the all esthetes of the world of sound and the intellectually oriented people. [label info]

NIHIL IMPVLSE -- "Teil I – Katabasis" -- CD-R -- €7
2010 Interitvs Nvmen, Imprimatur - 001, (ltd. 50)
Industrial. A document of nihilistic instigation shaped into a concrete slab of dark industrial frequencies, frontal noise assaults and droning bleak ambient soundscapes. Introspective, yet synecdochical of larger dead meat agglomerates, this is the first chapter of a trilogy exploring deprival, isolation and loss, the subsequent inert decay, and the final anabasis of recrudescent hatred. The Teil I makes no compromise in terms of luridness of both visions and sound sources: weird criminal speeches, old expressionist films, sleazy '70s smut, black box recordings of misteriously crashed airplanes, dusty piano tapes, recorded suicide notes, and more. All worked with a strong lo-fi, analog approach. Comes in a digipack ltd edition of 50 on black carbonate disc. [label info]

Industrial. A deposition of cold electronics and harsh frequencies to testify the perpetual stagnation of reality. Nothing ever changes, but the means through which the achievement illusion is mantained. The Teil II of the Nihil Impvlse aktion is an exploration in seven chapters of the diagrams of the power mechanisms caging us in an invisible prison, civilization. From an anointment ritual of ec-static pain engrafting the mental pest, to its own epiphany, until the final revelation: as the stasis word in ancient greek meant stillness but also rebellion, with the realization thereof may come as well an individual uneasing conquest, freedom. Put your hand on the pyre, life turned in an ordeal of awareness. Comes in a digipack ltd edition of 30 on black carbonate disc. [label info]

QUEST -- "Yesternights" -- CD -- €10
2019 St.An.Da., 1909, (ltd. 100)
Drone / Experimental. The history of QUEST goes back to the mid-90's when Aambient House' was looming large and I got tired of playing the same noise show as KAPOTTE MUZIEK and BEEQUEEN which focused on a more dark drone sound. It was time for something lighter, ambient and, why not, perhaps a bit more rhythmical. A drum machine was bought but never understood and was only used for a couple of pieces on the 'Questionmark' LP, released as QST in 1994. That was the premature end of QST, but as QUEST the project became more ambient and less rhythmic and a bunch of releases were released on Noise Museum and Lunar in the mid to late 90's. Sometime in the late 1990s new possibilities and techniques came about and it was decided to move away from analogue synthesizers, field recordings and four track machines. It had been a good run. Fast forward to 2014 and another development in technology. Apps developed for the iPad make it possible to create the rhythm music dreamed off in the mid 90s but that was never realized back then; QST all of a sudden gets a restart, with lots of pieces being composed and a 12" released by Inta (early 2017). An old fan of the QUEST music felt he was left behind, and asked 'so is this technology also useful for some good old ambient music as QUEST? Since then an album has been released by Where Ambient Lives and one is upcoming on Infraction Records. 'Yesternights' was composed over a period of two years working off and on before finishing it. S.O.A.H. -- "Codex Tagirioni" -- CD -- €10
2020 Evil Dead Productions, EDP 023
Dark Ambient / Spoken Word. "Codex Tagirioni" is comprised of seven canvases floating into each other and narrating the story about the alchemy of internal formation. About the metaphysics of death and the transition through the Gates of Abyss to the Other Side. The night side of the World Tree. About the unity of fire burning in the heart of a man and in the core of a star; each grain of the fields contains the sleeping spirit of this flame. About the Non-Being as the mother's womb of the Being... Word, Voice and Music: a bitter potion, tart wine and sweet poison, turned into a witch's hebenon. An elixir of moon blood and spices of the Forbidden Lands. An elixir of Hypnos, sending to the Other Side. In the center of the eternal Force, which was before the Existence and will remain after the Existence collapses it will flare up like a cinema film and sink into the Great Dissolution... The trinity of instruments presented by the bass guitar improvisations, poetic melodclamation and sound textures creates this timeless shamanic ritual, cosmic black, bewitching and smoking with darkness... [label info] For the fans of SOL MORTUUS and CHURCH OF HOWLING DOG, especially the album "Ummu Hubur".

SECOND SKIN -- "Black Eyed Angel" -- 2 CD-R -- €10
2005 Palace Of Worms, PO18W-2, (ltd. 333)
Gothic Rock / Darkwave. The official second release from this brooding Goth/Darkwave band. Not only does "Black Eyed Angel" feature a cleaner and tighter production value but it also shows that they haven't softened up their sound, with strong hooks and an equally strong indication towards the Arron's continuing electric lyricism and deep soothing Voice resounding around their melancholic dark rock. "Black Eyed Angel" is the album fans have been waiting for and certainly a much deserved recognition is due as veterans of the gothic music scene with a prowess that has surpassed other pioneers throughout the years so we're quite lucky to have them. Their songs move from dark dance to more stripped down gothic rock ballads while some of their reprise's on classics like "Sweet Nothing" and "Club Sexxx" could easily be the band's foray of bleakly lit experiments into the world of remixes, be it dance oriented or introspective. Second Skin is writhing over broken glass and fire capturing their inner demons with precision and keen insight. [CDBaby] Double-CD edition, the second disc is a video-CDR.

SIX DEAD BULGARIANS -- "Silence 29-39" -- CD -- €10
2011/2018 K-Records, KR-005
Ambient / Folk / Experimental. The new work by Six Dead Bulgarians talks about the difficult relationship of northern indigenous folklore and modern electronic music. Such interaction was greatly damaged at the time by various
metropolitan pop musicians, so this idea is now initially doomed to commercial failure - such music could be perceived, for example, as a duplicate of the project "Ivan Kupala". In fact, what 6MB did this time is much deeper and more honest, because the main purpose of recording the album was the idea of a creative experiment, and not the desire to create a successful commercial project for constant club performances. Those who have heard 6MB recordings before should understand that the term “electronic music” is not so simple with regard to this project, and includes many things, such as noise, industrial, ambient, and oriental meditations. A convincing combination of such music with crystal clear northern folklore performed by the folk choir of Kenozersky National Park was a really offbeat task. In this case, I want to emphasize the symbolic word "convincing", because the album is listened in one breath, it amazes with its wholeness, thoughtfulness and magnificent embodiment in sound. SIX DEAD BULGARIANS vs MOON FAR AWAY -- "Matitsa" -- CD -- €10
2007/2017 K-Records, KR-004, (ltd. 300)
IDM / Folk / Ambient. This release was initiated by Archangelsk-based project SIX DEAD BULGARIANS which long time ago was one of the originators of Russian industrial music and even had recorded several collaboration tracks with MFA at that time. Now they play experimental electronics and for this album some MFA tracks from "Belovodie" album and some compilations were remixed in lounge / IDM style. Specially for this project MFA has recorded two folklore tracks from Archangelsk region also to be re-arranged by SIX DEAD BULGARIANS. So "Matitsa" is another experiment of MFA in contiguous musical genres - and one more rebirth of ancient folklore texts. [label info]

SOUND_00 + LEFTERNA -- "The Collection: Collabs 3" -- 2 CD-R -- €10
2020 Ostroga, OTR-110, (ltd. 20)
Experimental Ambient. ‘The Collection: Collabs 3’ is the third installment of the compilation series of the ongoing collaborative project by the duo of Toni Dimitrov (Sound_00) & Boban Ristevski (Lefterna). After an extensive series of collaborative releases on multiple experimental labels (at the moment counting 41), at the end of each season, they are compiling a short selection of pieces, showcasing their best material, compressed into one release. The first, simply titled ‘Collabs’ was released on Attenuation Circuit, the second ‘Elementals: Collabs 2’ was published on Winter-Light, and the third is this one... ‘The Collection: Collabs 3’ is again conceptual experimental release of deep drone contemplations and haunting, melancholic, ambient explorations, good for deep meditative and learning sessions. All tracks have been previously released separately as standalone releases on the labels 45 Echoes Sounds, Gerpfast Kolektif, AmpEff, Cian Orbe and Sinnesloschen. [from the authors]

SPHERIC -- "Music For Laboratories" -- CD -- €10
2020 St.An.Da., 1914, (ltd. 200)
Ambient / Experimental. Music For Laboratories is a project by Orlando Lostumbo - a Roman double bass player and composer - who, for this work, has chosen the moniker of SPHERIC. For the realization of "Music For Laboratories", the artist has been inspired by his working environment, a research institute - the Istituto Superiore di Sanitá - where, for over thirty years, he has been working as an employee at the internal library, one of the most important in the biomedical field in Italy. The ongoing contact with scientists and researchers has given the artist the idea to create a sort of Ambient music for laboratories, looking for a line of continuity with the concept of "Music for Environments", born from the mind of the great musician Brian Eno, who created the masterpiece "Music For Airports" in 1978... In this work Lostumbo uses electronic sounds, piano and - in some tracks - the double bass, deconstructing, superimposing and displacing the electronic and acoustic sounds, creating effects that lead to continuous processes of sound transformation within a 'circular' and 'mantric' music. His aim, through the use of overlapping loops, is to highlight the repetitiveness and circularity of the mechanisms of life but also, thanks to the manipulation of the original sounds, the destruction and deconstruction of matter that leads to a new birth. Everything in nature and life is formed and transformed, and this concept is expressed musically by the artist in this record that deals with topics such as DNA replication, spiral waves, diffraction, bacterial reproduction, etc. [label info]

Neofolk. We carry our devotion to Pre-Raphaelitian art through the years – from the birth of Sunset Wings – paintings and poems of the Brotherhood members have always been a great inspiration for us. This compilation is a tribute to this great painter and poet, the songs on his poems were composed and recorded over a decade of Sunset Wings existence. Together with new unreleased material the album includes our old reworked songs performed with the participation of our good friends from Moon Far Away, Romowe Rikoito, Brodsky, Albireon, Die Zwei, Zeuk. TAMERLAN -- "Luciferian" -- CD -- €10
2016 Casus Belli Musica, CBM 030CD, (ltd. 200)
Neofolk / Gothic. Project Tamerlan was created in the year 2006, in Belgrade/Serbia, by Timur Iskandarov, the musician born in Russia. In the beginning, the project presented itself within the ethereal/dark ambient genre, however, with time, the sound evolved into the dark folk/goth spheres, which it explores even today. The new album "Luciferian" shows the most diverse and experimental work in TAMERLAN's discography, combining the existing dark folk formula with the elements of goth rock, darkwave, industrial, occult rock, psychedelic, and even black metal. Continuing the tradition started on the previous album, this one also features the certain number of guest musicians: Cecilia Bjargo (Der Blaue Reiter, Sophia, ex. Arcana), Bornyhake (Borgne), Will Connor (Seesar, Perkelt), Aleksandar Maksimovic (The Father Of Serpents / Tibia) and Khargash (Khargash / Obscured). TWIST OF FATE -- "September Winds" -- CD -- €10
2016 Oltrelanebbiailmare, CD201618
Acoustic / Neofolk. TWIST OF FATE is the side project of Giuseppe Verticchio (aka NIMH) with the collaboration of Daniela Gherardi. If NIMH represents the most adventurous and droning post-industrial facet of his instrumental explorations, TWIST OF FATE follows more melodious and dreamily introspective folk ambient waves. The project was born recently and formalized as a duet with a first album ("Tales From a Parallel Universe") published on GS Productions in 2014. Welcomed by Oltrelanebbiailmare this album is a logical progression from the first release. "September Winds" puts the emphasis on semi-experimental and intimate guitar compositions, with some violin lines and discreet treatments. Those shoegazing bucolic pieces will guide the listener in a land of nostalgic revisitations. [label info]

Post Rock / Shoegaze. We Promise To Betray is the collaborative musical project of Giuseppe Verticchio (NIMH, TWIST OF FATE, HALL OF MIRRORS, MARIBOR…) and Davide Del Col (ANTIKATECJON, MOLNIJA AURA, ECHRAN, ORNAMENT…). Quite far from their more usual dark-ambient/industrial perspectives, We Promise To Betray flow through ambient atmospheres, shoegaze echoes, nearly rock progressions, inner and crepuscular suggestions, mixing field recordings, ethereal synthetic textures, acoustic arpeggiated or dilated and reverberated electric guitars, bass and drums hypnotic rhythmic sections and leading distorted electric riffs, redefining the lines between apparently distant music genres, but homogeneous for mood, climate, atmosphere. ZBEEN -- "Tonal Whiplash" -- CD -- €10
2017 13, sps1723, (ltd. 250)
Experimental / Glitch / Musique Concrete. Tonal whiplash is a dissonance between tones, a lack of narrative coherence or the evil headache caused by a nonsensical explanation. One might argue that this is the defining characteristic of modern political discourse. Zbeen (Gianluca Favaron and Ennio Mazzon) translates this jarring disconnection into music, daring the listener to locate patterns and linear equations. The more one plays these tracks, the more one detects some overall threads: isolation, dehumanization, menace, technology, surveillance, encryption. Each track here adopts a particular pace, while the fragments of sound whirl around the speakers like shattered glass in a vortex. The music is not catchy, nor is it intended to be. It serves instead as an aural Rorschach test. (A Closer Listen) Comes in an outsized sleeve.

I-C-K -- "Les Actions Rétro-Actives" -- LP -- €12
2006 La Nouvelle Alliance, L.N.A.010, (ltd. 300)
Industrial / Electro. ICK is the radical French nihiltronix project that is known from its release on Hau Ruck! and other labels. This new LP shows that the project is moving more and more from old style industrial to traditional minimal electronics territory. Expect some mean and nasty analogue sounds to disturb your mind and body: minimal electronics meets old school industrial meets raw punk. Slow tracks like ‘Le Refus’ and ‘Droit De Réponse’ are mixed with more up-tempo pieces like ‘DASS mes veines’. In a strange way ‘Les Chiens De Garde’ even seems to be influenced by new beat. Anyway, the evolution of ICK is not disappointing at all. On the contrary, it seems the logical step and sounds natural. I am sure we will be hearing more of this side of ICK in the near future. MOLOCH -- "Die Isolation" -- 12" -- €16
2014 Desire Records, dsr107LP, (ltd. 300)
Black Metal / Dark Ambient. A new opus comes from the woods of Carpathia. It is a despairing portrayal of the souls that are lost in the winter woods. Hypnotic sounds, like a thousand blades in a dance of a winter blizzard, leaving thousands of cuts digging into the body. Heart-rending screams of freezing flesh, summoning death, dissolving within echoes on the mountains. This album delivers cold, misanthropic and desolate mid-tempo, Nordic-influenced Black Metal, alongside melancholic Dark Ambient tracks. Crunchy distorted guitar minimalism, primal thrashing beats, and an overall raw necroish execution are reinforced by howling, tortured, grim vocals that recall the old Burzum era. For fans of Burzum, Striborg, Xasthur, Trist, Darkthrone. [Cold Spring]

POLUSTANOK -- "Machta / Lesnye Podzemelya" -- CS -- €7
2019 Podzemnoye Techeniye, pt003, (ltd. 11)
Abstract / Improv / Lo-Fi from Moscow. State of the atmosphere, presence of reflecting objects, Doppler effect. Air is like a layer cake. Under it are the unexplored bowels, voids and passages that are not on the maps. Echoing vaults and spans of mines, dampness of earth and local echo. A guide to starting the research... The second album of POLUSTANOK explores the theme of immersion deep into the earth. In contrast to the first release, this album sounds completely lowercase. The atmosphere of dampness of dungeons, echoing vaults and dark passages is represented by abstract sketches of a bass guitar. Handmade artwork with unique author's drawings on each copy. Harsh Noise Wall. Using the terminology of news feeds and grinding the newsbreaks with an icy sandblast, exaggerating the uselessness of the information flow, we present you the most accurate data on issues of priority importance in the ultimate form. PUSTOTA -- "Stabilitron" -- C-60 -- €6
2020 BioSonar^Lo-End, 109/2020, (ltd. 8)
Noise / Minimal. Emptiness or void ("pustota" in Russian) is a linguistic concept, a formulation based on ideas. Philosophy has methods for the logical justification of emptiness and fullness, as well as their identity. Radio electronics has its own methods for converting a signal into a void, electricity into white noise, and controlling frequency characteristics. This fixation is a broadcast of the operation of a noise generator built on stabilitrons or zener diodes, which differs radically from modern digital generation in microchips or a retro version on transistors. Cassettes were recorded directly from the device, bypassing the stage of the mastertape and copying. Ultra-limited edition in cardboard boxes with hand-written info. [label info]
TECHNICHESKIY PRUD -- "Archive Recordings" -- CS -- €7
2020 Podzemnoye Techeniye, pt005, (ltd. 14)
Experimental / Minimal. Third-party observation evokes a flood of associations and memories. The memory of water and the refraction of light. Audibility changes, comes as night or another time of the year or the next second. Sounds move above the surface of the water, are reflected or go into layers, being transformed and merging with underground currents. Archival records preceding the appearance of the project DOM S TRUBOY. Records are dedicated to the "memory of water". Industrial noises, accompanied by the sounds of analog synthesizers. The second side of the album contains a fragment of a live set from the same period. Handmade artwotk, cassettes are numbered and decorated with drawings. [label info]

2015 13, sps1507, (ltd. 200)
Minimalist singer/songwriter Nathan Amundson began recording as Rivulets in 1999, when his self-titled debut was issued by Chairkickers Union, the Duluth, Minnesota label run by the veteran slowcore outfit Low. Since then Nathan has released a plethora of albums, EPs, and singles as Rivulets on labels such as Chairkickers, Acuarela, Important Recoords, TROME and Jellyfant. His live performances, both solo and with his band, are highly acclaimed, and much sought after on the European circuit. ATARAXIA -- "Llyr" -- CD -- €10
2010/2011 Shadowplay Records, SPR 100
Medieval / Neofolk. Three years after the last studio album Kremasta Nera, Ataraxia is back with a marvellous new album! Llyr (Lyra) is the name of the instrument of the Bards and the Greek lyrical poets; a sacred musical instrument visually inspired by the grace and nobleness of the swans. Ataraxia, in this voyage, played the following instruments: classical, folk and 12 strings guitars, chitarra battente, keyboards, flutes, sitar, gamelan, daf, frame drums, santoor, tablas, zard and bells. Female vocals are sometimes accompanied by male vocals. This new album is a new story inspired by pagan myths, feminine celebrations Of Mother Nature, celtic traditions… Ataraxia and her charismatic singer Francesca Nicoli have now create their uncommon genre of music: a cosmogonic dark folk praying for Beauty. [Prikosnovenie] Russain edition comes with a bonus track and a slipcase.

B°TONG -- "The Long Journey" -- CD -- €10
2017 Reverse Alignment, RA-35, (ltd. 300)
Dark Ambient / Experimental. For some unknown reason, the black hole at the center of the Milky Way galaxy shoots out an X-ray flare about once a day. These flares last a few hours with the brightness ranging from a few times to nearly one hundred times that of the black hole’s regular output. But back in February 2012, astronomers using the Chandra X-Ray Observatory detected the brightest flare ever observed from the central black hole, also known as Sagittarius A*. The flare, recorded 26,000 light years away, was 150 times brighter than the black hole’s normal luminosity. What causes these outbursts? Scientists aren’t sure. But Sagittarius A* doesn’t seem to be slowing down, even though as black holes age they should show a decrease in activity... Since getting to know Chris Sigdell from a distance in 2010, sending the label a promo copy of ”The Great Disintegrator”, and onwards recognising the release of his project b°tong through labels such as Attenuation Circuit, Greytone and Silken Tofu, we met up in the flesh 2016. Since then the label invited him to master last years releases from Ajna, Valanx and Dronny Darko and now releases his project b°tong’s two new albums ”Monastic” and ”The Long Journey”... On ”The Long Journey” Chris Sigdell focuses on dark drones combined with ”meant-to-be” sound mishaps, making up a drowsy quagmire to a mixture of avantgarde experimental darkness... BECUZZI, GIANLUCA plays LIMBO -- "Unholy Rituals I - III" -- 2 CD -- €10
2015 Silentes Minimal Editions, sme 1563
LIMBO, famous dark wave project from 80's and 90's years ceased to exist from a long time. Gianluca Becuzzi, in the 30° years anniversary from the birth of the band, releases Plays Limbo (Unholy Rituals I-III) - a double cd that includes a fine work of (de)mix from the tracks of the original records of Limbo, but totally subverting the sounds... the result is an inspired isolationistic album that draws in the deep. We're in dark lands, where electronics create symphonies that pull the listener in his own abyss. A work without compromise. [label info]

BECUZZI, GIANLUCA & FABIO ORSI -- "Dust Tears And Clouds" -- 2 CD -- €10
2013 Silentes Minimal Editions, sme 1359
Ambient / Folk / Experimental. Following the previous albums released, among others, by Last Visible Dog and Digitalis, "Dust Tears and Clouds" is the fifth full-lenght work born from the collaboration between Gianluca Becuzzi and Fabio Orsi. Becuzzi is an electronic / electroacoustic composer and sound artist active since the first half of the '80s. Founder of the historic Darkwave / Industrial project LIMBO, since 1999 his artistic production is characterized by a strong experimental imprint and by a clear tendency toward abstract aesthetic forms and micro/macro noises/sounds. Among his recent artistic production - in addition to what he has published under his own name - we should at least mention his projects KINETIX, NOISE TRADE COMPANY and GREY HISTORY. On the other side, Orsi sits among the most interesting names of the European electronic and experimental scene. Following his early output on A Silent Place and Smallvoices, his music works have been published by many other labels worldwide, including Porter Records, Boring Machines and, of course, Silentes. His talent has become an estabilished reality thanks to his abilities in finding a nice balance between experimentation and melody. "Dust Tears and Clouds" combines two CDs in a single release. The first disc, entitled "Dust Tears and Skinny Legs Poets", was recorded in 2007 and remained unreleased until now. It contains eight highly evocative tracks that feature American Folk samples recorded by Alan Lomax mixed with guitars and electronics. This work can be seen as the ideal follow-up to the acclaimed "Muddy Speaking Ghosts Through My Machines". The second disc collects the three long tracks previously released by Foxglove back in 2007 as a 3x3" MiniCD-Rs extremely limited edition, with the welcome addition of an unreleased fourth track. Here Becuzzi and Orsi offers two solo efforts and two collaborative numbers; the voices and samples that graced the first disc are absent and the musicians create denser experimental plots soaked with field recordings, synthesizers and effects. Overall, the two Italian artists showcase a broad range of solutions and, once again, they create a rich work whose repeated listening will reveal more and more details. [press-release]

BI NOSTALGIA -- "Clear And Not Clear" -- 2 CD -- €15
2012 Oltrelanebbiailmare, CD201212
New Wave / Synth Pop. Another due reissue of valuable New Wave materials “Made In Italy” that stretches around thirty-seven tracks contained on a double CD. Bi Nostalgia was the solo project of Luca Rigato, already part of the duo Endless Nostalgia. Composed and recorded between 1984 and 1987 (with the addition of one more recent unreleased track), all songs have been completely remastered from the original master tapes of "Anthems for Losers", "Dances of the Pessimism", "The Seeping Mouth”, “Cathedrals EP", "Art Is Not Much" and "Philokalia", all published on Bi Nostalgia’s own label The League of the Gloomers. These tracks introduce the listener to the author's innermost world – a convinced exponent of a “losers aesthetics” but also a skilled craftsman maker of detailed soundscapes of great density and abstraction – that confront himself with his reference points: ambient music in general and the European / American serialist composers. Touching new age fascinations, refined sonorities, epic atmospheres and elementary compositive structures. A finely crafted visionary pop music, enhanced by arrangements that give to the compositions a seductive sense of lightness and purity. [label info]

BIANCHI, MAURIZIO -- "Menstruum Regles" -- CD -- €10
2008 Silentes Minimal Editions, sme 0716
Experimental Ambient. Decomposition instead that composition. De-structured music that instead structured music. Not to complex and articulated technologies for recording, mixing of the parts and mastering; not to one sophisticated production and maniacal and defined participations correct in post-production... This the new "challenge" capacity to the extreme limit from Maurizio Bianchi, a new musical effort, "directed", "raw", immediate, absolutely uncompromising new, to outside of every law and from every pre-constituted rule... Fragments of music, short fragments of sonorous material of varied extraction, now short, now long, placed in sequence one behind the other, in a "dry" way, following absolutely unforeseeable times and dynamics. Continuous loops, raw unexpected cuts, noise alternated to musical parts, single sounds, drones, notes of piano, buzzes, soft pads, electric current workers... Two long traces, 75 minutes, a listening experience over any edge and reliable definition... This CD was released as part of a trilogy entitled "An Absurd Trilogy", the other titles being "The Self Portrait Of M.B." (sme 0715) and "Dead Colours" (sme 0717). [label info]

BIANCHI, MAURIZIO -- "The Self-Portrait of M.B." -- CD -- €10
2008 Silentes Minimal Editions, sme 0715
Experimental Ambient. An unusual self-portrait of Maurizio Bianchi in a minimal and introspective version, "a discreet" sonic self-portrait, elaborated with soft and nearly abstract electronic sketches, cyclical waves, tangles of intersected sounds, stratified, continuously changing, manipulated and molded through uses of effects, filters, reverbs, choruses, delay... Expanded paces, rarefied and "apparently quiet" atmospheres, but at the same time always full of a constant sense of gravity and heaviness, of vulnerability, always on the extreme border of the abyss that leads towards the unknown, the dark, the not to be defined and the mystery... This CD was released as part of a trilogy entitled "An Absurd Trilogy", the other titles being "Menstruum Regles" (sme 0716) and "Dead Colours" (sme 0717). [label info]

2007 Silentes Minimal Editions, sme 0714
Industrial / Experimental. "Electrostatic Deflection" is a new industrial-music masterwork, created through collaboration with MAURIZIO BIANCHI, and Israeli musician MAOR APPELBAUM. It's represents Bianchi's more extreme direction... a sample of whats comming in the future from the historic Italian composer. Amazing impact, immense slabs of industrial sound in motion. Sweeping vistas of intense static energy, storm-fronts moving across the stereo field, an acoustic tidal wave approaching landfall, breathtaking deep and dark voyages through underground abysses... a massive and monumental work. Sounds of Sodom and Gomorra burning... don't look back! An apocalyptic prophecy of sound. Waves of sound that can penetrate the thickest steel-plate. Let it wash over you. At high volume, this cd becomes a very physical experience. [label info]

The sound quality and the sharpness of details are absolutely insuperable, they will offer you a “wrapping” and emotionally all-involving listening experience. [label info]

CISFINITUM -- "Devotio" -- 10" -- €12
2006 Substantia Innominata, SUB-04, (ltd. 500)
The fourth volume in our new series comes from one of the currently best projects of the russian experimental-atmospheric / drone / post-industrial-scene. Main force behind CISFINITUM we find Evgueny Voronovsky, an educated violinist from Moscow. CISFINITUM is a notion by russian poet & writer DANIIL CHARMS, meaning the „logic of the infinite non-existence“, that „something“ that is beyond all rational things. DEVOTIO uses monumental bell-sounds that build complex overlappings & hypnotic drone-waves in various layers, dissolving into pure vibrations. To us It sounds like a journey into the heart of the sacral, pointing at a sphere of transcendence where all questions end. Or begin again. Comes on white vinyl and with great artwork by Berlin-based artworker TILMANN BENNINGHAUS. [press-release]

CLAUSTHOME -- "Radiophare [Lampe D'Ambiance]" -- CD -- €9
2005 Indiestate, IST 034 CD, (ltd. 500)
Clausthome is another project of the Latvian band Claustrum known for their great release on Old Europa Cafe. "Radiophare" brings the listener first class radio-noise in a vein of Bad Sector, Arecibo or SETI/Lagowski. This material was gathered during two years (under project research named Clausthome) using different ways of radio waves scanning, data gathered by radio telescopes and archives of universe research data servers. It was a sound analysis experiment, where material and after-processing of both Earth and cosmic authentic static radiation were used, applying different sound alteration programs and sampling methods, as well as sound synthesis creating music environment. It is a process of translation and transformation that leads towards awareness of that potential environment, which can be created using the gathered material. CD comes in a silver-black digisleeve with an insert and limited to 500 copies. [press-release]

CONIGLIO, ENRICO feat. MANUEL P. CECCHINATO & MASSIMO LIVERANI -- "Sea Cathedrals" -- CD -- €10
2010 Silentes, cd201026
Dark Ambient / Experimental. Five superb tracks of deep and evocative ambient music, enriched with echoes of ancient ritual suggestions. The immense spaces and the abyssal deepness of the sea, but also the sound of the bowels of the Earth, the colour of the sand of the desert, the energy of the wind, the strenght of all the Elements, the infinite cycle of day and night, of life and death… A long circular journey through interchanging atmospheres that shake and capture, dragging with energy, then leave room for more quiet and soothing introspective “stasis”, and again become dramatic and overwhelming. A great, unmissable album of “classic” ritual ambient music. [press-release]

CONIGLIO, ENRICO / UNDER THE SNOW -- "Dialogue One" -- CD -- €10
2011 Silentes, cd 201128
Dark Ambient / Minimal. This is the first split work between UNDER THE SNOW and various artists/friends. Nearly an hour of suggestive "border" music, equally divided between the relaxing and ambient atmospheres contaminated with experimental elements created by Enrico Coniglio, and the low-fi/rough sounds and atmospheres crafted by Under the Snow (Stefano Gentile (SEAMUS, SEELE) and Gianluca Favaron (LASIK SURGERY, AB'SHE)) - not so different but with a more dramatic, tense and hypnotic doom - built on deep drones stratifications, often hard and cutting, with a wide collection of noises, electronic hassles, ununderstandable wispherings, concrete moments... A perfect join-venture, a mix among two different music projects that gather coherence and inspiration to "sustain" a split album that showcases a not to be missed fusion of styles among the involved artists, oriented on parallel patterns, clearly increasing the value of their own personal and somehow different sonic directions. CRYOGENIC WEEKEND -- "Polar Sleep" -- 3 CD -- €15
2018 Reverse Alignment, RA-42, (ltd. 300)
Dark Ambient / Drone. Oleg Puzan seem to have his hands full. Not only does he frequently release under his solo alias through Cryo Chamber label but also do he have energy left to cooperate with other artists. From ritualistic dark ambient to minimalism, he has made himself a name in the scene and his creativity doesn't seem to have an end... About a year ago we saw the release of Dronny Darkos collaboration "Black Monolith" with Ajna on Reverse Alignment. This year we release another cooperative creation with Oleg Puzan; "Polar Sleep" by Cryogenic Weekend. This entity is formed together with fellow compatriot Vitaly Lebukhorski (Oil Texture) and is a visit to the coldest regions of the world where widespread glaciars and the kingdom of snow rule. "Polar Sleep" is an invitation to experience the sounds of a realm where ice never melts. [label info]

DARK AGES -- "A Chronicle Of The Plague" -- LP -- €16
2007 Northern Heritage, (ltd. 250)
Dark Ambient / Neoclassical. DARK AGE's second album continues offering us minimalist Dark Ambient from the main member of DRUDKH and HATE FOREST, this time more melodic than before, and inspired on the horrors of the Middle Ages. Between the fall of the Western Roman emprie in A.D. 476 and the fall of Constantinople (capital of the Eastern Roman empire) in 1453, Europe was ravaged by plagues and superstition. Greek was largely forgotten, and with it much of the learned texts of antiquity. 'A Chronicle of the Plague' is a musical tale of the terror of 1349, which depopulated entire villages and decimated Europe's human population; the disease was not understood at the time, and therefore it was assumed to have been the wrathful punishment from the Judaeochristian Deity. DEAD PIANO -- "s/t" -- CD -- €10
2018 St.An.Da., 1806, (ltd. 300)
Ambient / Experimental. The idea of "DEAD PIANO" was born from the intention of using the sound of the piano in a different context, compared to what we are used to listen. Can this instrument become a different 'sound generator'? Beyond what has been done in the past, when many composers used a 'prepared piano', where they placed microphones near the strings, or pieces of metal that generated particular sounds resonating with the strings, the most recent technology offers many tools to manipulate that same sound, so well-known and unmistakable, and transform it into something quite different. Therefore it is possible for the piano to become a generator of percussive sounds, pads and drones, creating a sound palette that is reconciled with other sound sources becoming a cohesive and intriguing whole. The piano sounds manipulated by ANDREA BELLUCCI (Red Sector A, Vetropaco, Qod), are perfectly integrated with the atmospheres generated by CRISTIANO DEISON's machines, creating 'sonic landscapes' which complement each other. Not only melody then, where the piano can be considered 'the instrument' par excellence, but also the search for atmospheres and environments that can involve the listener, perhaps giving unexpected emotions. DEAD PIANO is a project by ANDREA BELLUCCI and DEISON. [label info]

DEISON -- "Night Sessions" -- CD -- €10<
2011 Silentes Minimal Editions, sme 1149
Dark Ambient / Experimental. A collection of fascinating and obscure nocturnal sessions alternating "classical" electronic inspiration parts based on sequencers and synthetizers to more abstract and minimal sonic episodes, deep drones, musical mix ups, distorted and extended guitars, deformed human voices, static and moving more typical "ambiental" movements, cold insets of more pulsing and "techno oriented" sounds, suggestive atmospheres build on bizzare loops, more typically "glitch" inserts and hisses... a great collection of collaborations with Teho Teardo, Philippe Petit, Under the Snow, Jim Coleman, Franck Vigroux, Testing Vault, Annen Berg. DEISON / MINGLE -- "Innersurface" -- CD -- €10
2017 St.An.Da., 1701
Experimental / Industrial / Ambient. After crossing wastelands lost in oblivion (Everything Collapse[d], Aagoo, 2014), and being skeptically moved by listening to pulsations of a weak life (Weak Life, Aagoo, 2015), Cristiano Deison and Andrea Gastaldello (aka Mingle) are arriving at their final destination, Innersuface, the last stop on their journey. They suddenly fall into a hole and are trapped in a slimy pit overflowing with mud and industrial liquids. Everything is dense and oppressive. Their physical movement stops, the chaos in their head remains, they look around and everything is irreversibly changed. And while looking at the road they have just walked along, they glimpse the edge of a forest brimming with life, with its appearance unchanged over time...will it stay like this forever? Created, recorded and mixed between December 2015 and April 2016, at Mingle's Tower Home Studio and Deison's 1st Floor Studio, Innersurface continues the perfect blend of Deison and Mingle sounds: drones, field recordings and processed loops superimposed with disturbed rhythms, distorted beats and electronic processing. As always, the electronics are dirty and extremely evocative, sounds that we have become accustomed to. [label info]

Abstract / Improv / Lo-Fi. Minimalistic Russian lo-fi project, creating abstract music with the use of guitar, drums, radio receiver, organ and samples. Brother project to POLUSTANOK. "Behind the trees and in the distance freight cars noise. Through the air, smelling of earth and plant juices to approach. Now more smells of dry wood, smoke, warm. The door opens like a book of herbs, like a cluster of legends. Inside the words spoken and heard in response. He knows more than we. It is inhabited by shadows, sounds, voices. Know about him stems and groundwater, small stones and local birds, voles and insects. And these songs are about what’s inside and what’s outside". [label info]

DUOZERO -- "Esperanto" -- CD -- €5
2006 SmallVoices, SVR06019
Downtempo / Experimental. "Esperanto" is the multi-lingual voice of technology, a suspension of sounds based in research: a chaos of signs overwhelmed by sonic devices... DVAR -- "Jraah Mraah" -- CD -- €10
2007/2010 Shadowplay Records, SPR 116
Reissue of the 2007 album will all cyrillic spelling. Original press-release: "After a year odd of silence DVAR comes back with a new extraordinary creation. "Jraah Mraah" presents 30 finely crafted miniature masterpieces made at the meeting-point of indietronics, gothic, fantasy pop, minimalism and avanguard. Blazing expressive pieces vary from driving ones to meditative, from "cheerful" to tragic. That's possibly how "punk" or "synthpop" should sound if performed by cockroaches, flies and caterpillars from old Soviet cartoons. And really, one can't but admire this inventive sickness in performance! The disc is literally covered with odd obscure atmosphere similar to David Lynch's movies. This feeling, when under a mask of a clown you can see a skull, or when a colorful wrapping of a chocolate sweet hides a pile of dead earthworms inside... Besides traditional fans of Dvar, this album will be surely appreciated by sentimental lovers of touching child's music and other most unusual, experimental and innovative. Unambiguously recommended to the fans of «Schnappi, das Kleine Krokodil», THE RESIDENTS, DRAGIBUS, PLUXUS, MESSERCHUPS, Yan Tiersen, LITTLE COMPUTER PEOPLE, SNAKESKIN, etc."

ECLIPSED -- "The Probabilistic Mind" -- CD-R -- €10
2018 Aliens Production, APD018, (ltd. 66)
Electro / Industrial. The chemical connection between the community of old school Slovak musicians was finally combined and the reaction of this Hlohovec-Trnava cooperation has finally got it’s final concept. The project of members of SAMHAIN and KIFOTH has gotten the form of an analogue school, and this connection will be for sure a strong beginning for the fans of analog strings of dancing beats and the wild-torn sound of sound tortures. The concept is based on a raw analogue sound that has a lot of hallucinations and hard attacks on your mind. The project's purpose is to use the hybrid beats with amount of the strong sounding tones that are pulsing in the machine park. Excellent combination of electronics and experimentation. This is a concept for an open mind and a community that is willing to break into the oasis of analogue storm. This project is designed to respond to projects such as: Noise Unit, Intermix, Download... Unique pure sound concept full of cracking blocks and hybrid tortures. FARYUS & VADIM BONDARENKO -- "Quiet Songs From Misty Places" -- CD -- €10
2011 Silentes, 201127
Ambient / Neoclassical. QSFMP is the 2nd album made in collaboration of 2 different musicians: "electronic wizard" Faryus and classical music player and composer, but sometimes "misty traveller" Vadim Bondarenko. These QUIET SONGS were composed in 2 steps: first liquid electronic atmospheres were created by Faryus, then the piano and the clarinet melodies were improvised and recorded by Vadim Bondarenko. Actually this album is an invitation to find some misty places in your dreams... Frail and delicate ambient atmospheres, clusters of rarefied piano notes lying on discreet drones, soft and evanescent clarinet riffs, suggesting and catching natural sounds... Light and ethereal pastel-coloured musical plots... Eight tracks, one hour of suspended and quiet sonic passages, flowing like discreet background, or to listen/see in a passionate mood, dreaming in silence, lying in gloom... Wonderful ambient stuff from these two Russian artists in the same vein of some of Harold Budd's works... Well known for their previous works on Russian FARIA Records, Faryus in the past has also crafted an album in collaboration with Robert Rich. [label info]

HALL OF MIRRORS -- "Forgotten Realm" -- CD -- €10
2009 Silentes Minimal Editions, sme 0927
Dark Ambient. Second “chapter” in the “Hall of Mirrors” saga, a project that hides the fervid minds of Giuseppe Verticchio (NIMH) and Andrea Marutti (AMON). On this release they’re supported by Andrea Freschi SUBINTERIOR, KONAU…) and Andrea Ferraris (UR, SIL MUIR…), who gave their contribute with additional sound sources. Another long and fascinating journey among the ruins of lost and ancient civilizations, among desolate landscapes forgotten by time… To enrich the already busy electronic stratifications, among slowly evolving ambient sonorities and occasional parts of more sharp and “rough” elements of a Post-Industrial nature, we also find suggestive sound of reverberating flutes and dilated electric guitar parts, ending with delicate melodic arpeggios and evocative rhythmic accents of a vague cinematic taste. The adventure goes on… [label info]

HAUS ARAFNA -- "Blut - Trilogie Des Blutes | Nachblutung" -- 2 LP -- €75
1995/2018 Galakthorrö, Galakthorrö 006, (ltd. 641)
Blut was Haus Arafna’s first Album. It first appeared in 1995 as a limited edition CD, was remastered and reissued in 2006 as CD with the inclusion of three bonus tracks (Nachblutung). Blut was never released as a vinyl version, this omission is now amended. Blut consists of three sections (Trilogie des Blutes), each side of the vinyl containing one section. The fourth side contains Nachblutung. The tracks have all been remastered, and lean acoustically on the original 1995 version. On Blut, classic “Old-School” Industrial is to be heard, there is only a vague hint of the Angst Pop movement to be ascertained. This Album is loved for its ecstatic violence and unbridled energy, right up to the present day... 12" 2LP, blut red vinyl, heavy cardboard gatefold, printed inner sleeves. [label info]

Two great new pieces by this Russian artist from the Moscow-area, most sensible & emotional drone-ambience, a graceful dance of acoustic reflections & resonances. "Spectral Ship" and "Tidal Fire" appear like universal mantras, revealing the basic HUM of the universe. These works seem to represent perfectly the concept of the SUBSTANTIA-series: Sound that exists but which is not originating from the impact of two subjects in contact. Sound that is simply "there", with no beginning or ending. Edition of 500 copies on silver-coloured vinyl, with a full colour sleeve design by DANIEL CROKAERT / MYSTERY SEA. [press-release]

IRR. APP. (EXT.) -- "Are All Things Equivalent?" -- 10" -- €15
2019 Drone Records / Substantia Innominata, SUB-26, (ltd. 300)
Drone / Experimental. Drone Records is proud to present two new tracks on vinyl by the master of surrealistic, enigmatic sound (and visual) worlds, whose collages and titles often reveal a cryptic and thought-provoking nature. As soon as the music starts you might get the impression that micro- and macroscopic dimensions intermingle and oscillate, these multi-layered drone expansions and deep humming drones evoke a strange organic feeling, ominous half-concrete acoustic shadows seem to live inside this, ghosty saw-blades conquer the sonic space, there are rolling mechanic eruptions, and you could be stuck in huge spinning machines, it's music that consists of complex noises and drones that seem to be in a circling state of an endless metamorphosis... irr.app.(ext.) has been the project of sound, performance and visual artist M. S. Waldron for more than 20 years. He currently resides in Hillsboro, Oregon (USA), just slightly to the left of the picturesque midriff of the Pacific Northwest... Known for recurring collaborations with NURSE WITH WOUND and through a phantastic trilogy of albums with reference to the radical psychoanalytic and founder of body psychotherapy WILHELM REICH, the creations are much grounded in non-orthodox surrealism and collage and fall somewhere between beauty and absurdity, between amorph drone ambience transcensions and bewildering and attacking noises, often with deep philosophical and psychological implications involved... Released in an edition of 300 copies on clear vinyl, with full colour artwork by M.S. Waldron himself. [label info]

JENNIFER GENTLE -- "A New Astronomy" -- CD -- €5
2005/2006 A Silent Place, ASP13
Psychedelic Rock. Official re-issue of the ultra rare 2005 Sub Pop release (Ltd x 100 copies), now in a digipak. This album is dedicated to Giovanni Paneroni, amateur astronomer and misunderstood genius. "A new astronomy" is probably the most eccentric and out-there JG release to date. Recorded mostly in Marco Fasolo's bedroom on a 4-track cassette machine, the album was conceived as the imaginary soundtrack for some of their most bizarre, vivid dreams - obviously interspersed by the occasional nightmare. It's made by grainy, hallucinated musical scores trying to depict the beautiful, the scary, the annoying and the simply absurd inhabiting dreams. It runs the gamut from ghostly ambient drones to brain-damaged acoustic sketches, covering everything in between - furious guitar freak-outs and a homage to British 60's producer Joe Meek included. KINETIX -- "Final Archives" -- CD -- €10
2010 Silentes Minimal Editions, sme 1043
Minimal / Experimental. This is the final chapter for this project run by Gianluca Becuzzi - well known for his old dark wave project LIMBO but also for his solo works and collaborations with Fabio Orsi. FINAL ARCHIVES is a sort of collection of rare tracks recorded from 1999 to 2006 totally reworked and remastered in 2009. ABSOLUTE GREY is the title that Kinetix gave to his graphic artwork selection exhibited with an ambient score specifically composed for the exposition space. The exhibition is made up of ten grey scale serigraphs on white forex sheets a metre square and a composition of 20 minutes played through two loudspeakers with one woofer covered in grey powder on top of a white cube. RAW MATERIALS is a collection of seven short tracks from early Kinetix productions. Noise gestaltmusic. A multi-dimensional concept created with sound layers and ambient concretism. These tracks help the listener to understand the starting point of Kinetix's sound research. RESOUNDING SCULPTURES is based on the concept of "composition for blocks of sound" made in the 50's and 60's by Iannis Xenakis. For this reason traditional compositional criteria (harmonic-melodic / rhythmic-metric) replace the various criteria of plastic / spatial forms. Part of the sound sources used were extracted from the works of Iannis Xenakis to whom this composition is dedicated. [press-release]

Industrial / Noise. 2010 release from this veteran French industrial noise project active since 1982. Le Syndicat presents here a somewhat glossier and more structured take on their sound, with their cassette-era mechanical noise loops being muted by crisp digital editing and rich dynamic shifts. The 8 tracks are powered by a sense of free-form energy that is both uneasy and intriguing, bringing to mind Brume's more aggressive and noisy works. [Mechanoise Labs]

Only this time, the evolution has gone a different but the right way, the music has taken a great dose of grandiosity, orchestrality and overall epicness and awe - because of all that, this monumental release will certainly present one of the Titans in the scene of martial industrial. LOPEZ, FRANCISCO & VALENTINA LACMANOVIC -- "With/In" -- CD -- €10
2013 Silentes Minimal Editions, sme 1360
Francisco Lopez is internationally recognized as one of the major figures of the sound art and experimental music scene. For more than thirty years he has developed an astonishing sonic universe, absolutely personal and iconoclastic, based on a profound listening of the world. Destroying boundaries between industrial sounds and wilderness sound environments, shifting with passion from the limits of perception to the most dreadful abyss of sonic power, proposing a blind, profound and transcendental listening, freed from the imperatives of knowledge and open to sensory and spiritual expansion. He has realized hundreds of concerts, projects with field recordings, workshops and sound installations in over sixty countries of the five continents. His extensive catalog of sound pieces (with live and studio collaborations with over 150 international artists) has been released by more than 300 record labels worldwide. He has been awarded four times with honorary mentions at the competition of Ars Electronica Festival and is the recipient of the Qwartz Award 2010 for best sound anthology... Since 1999 Valentina Lacmanovic has researched dances from different cultures through their ritual, folk, classic, and contemporary aspects. From 2001 onwards, her work has been focused on the creation of dance-theater and multimedia performances where Eastern and Western worlds meet. She has worked intensively on creating performances inspired by dances of trance and collaborates with artists from various disciplines. Profound research into dances of trance and ritual versus performing spaces since 2003 gave new direction to her work as an art director and performer. Her investigations into whirling dance led to insights into its origins and practice extending beyond Sufi meditation that supply an inexhaustible source of artistic inspiration and contemporary creativity, ultimately resulting in the project Shedervish, which marked an important change in her artistic development... "With/In" features one long track created by Francisco Lopez with original sound matter recorded from body, clothes and immediate surrounding space during ritual whirling by Valentina Lacmanovic. As subtle as the almost invisible image that appears on the back cover, this work translate the dancer's breath and movements into music. One of the most interesting concepts in Lopez later works and surely one of the best entries in his ever-growing discography. [press-release]
LU -- "B-Interrail" -- CD -- €5<
2003 Small Voices, SVR03004
Leftfield / Experimental. LU is a great new Italian one man band. Multi-instrumentalist and sampler wizard Gianluca Porcu proposes a very personal mix of acoustic and electronic music, endowed with a warm and lively Mediterranean sensibility. The album is an organical suite in various movements in which lyrical and melodious orchestral themes are played with the help of a small ensemble of special guests (flute, clarinet, sax, piano, guitar), then deconstructed and remixed through layers of soft electronica, female choirs, cut-up vocals (including the ghost of Marcel Duchamp) and glitches elements, all with a stimulating attitude between pop and classical plus more than a small hint to vintage lounge soundtracks. In the final track, Consapevolezza della riduzione, LU also proves to be able to construct powerful avant-pop songs. LU is the missing link between The Penguin Café Orchestra and Fennesz. A very unique, pleasurable, slighthy wistful and at times funny experience, also for lovers of Nobukazu Takemura, Pascal Comelade, Pulseprogramming, The Books, etc. [press-release]

MAJDANEK WALTZ / SAL SOLARIS -- "Tenebrae" -- CD -- €10
2011 Shadowplay Records, SPR 127 / ZHELEZOBETON, ZHB-XXXIII, (ltd. 500)
A collaboration album by two prominent Russian post-industrial projects Majdanek Waltz and Sal Solaris. The conceptual core of the record is the poetry of Paul Celan, one of the major German-language poets of the post-World War II era. His cryptic fractured lyrics spoken in a specific estranged way by Pavel Blumkin is enchased by a weird fusion of avant-garde neoclassic and dark ambient music... This record will seem unusual even for those who are already familiar with the works of both projects. Here you won't find neither soulful neofolk songs, nor strong power ambient - instead the decadent sounds of violin, cello, clarinet, piano and bayan from Majdanek Waltz blend with shimmering electronic drones and uneasy soundscapes of Sal Solaris in paradoxical unity making your heart throb painfully. The last track features the haunting voice of Rada Anchevskaya (Rada & Ternovnik)... It won't be so easy to fall in love with this album from the first spin. It's like an eerie irrational dream able to frighten and cause a desire to wake up somewhat quicker. But the depth of this dream lures and makes you return and experience it again and again.

Ambient. Two hours and a half of music collected on a double CD set that also contain a DVD video. Two long tracks of sublime and evocative pseudo-abstract and multicoloured ambient textures, built with “discreet” and repetitive background microstructures layered with continuous and infinite variations worked out from “clusters” of sounds and “sketches” of melodic sequences made of light sonorities, “delicate” and “quiet” as well, but also hypnotic and warm… Fragile harmonies and mild dissonances in a timeless sonic continuum that enwraps and “rocks” the listener, among infinite spirals and floating waves in an everlasting movement… Another new, mind-boggling masterpiece, absolutely unmissable for all the lovers of Michael Mantra’s music. MANTRA, MICHAEL -- "F/C" -- LP -- €20
2013 13, issue #2, (ltd. 250)
Ambient. Michael Mantra creates Ambient music. But more than that, he creates audio tools for "brain hemisphere synchronization": going beyond the synchronization of mind and body, Mantra's techniques are a mean to release endorphins, which are part of the human body's natural pharmacy and work at the same level of opiates. Michael creates his soundscapes mixing modulating high and low harmonic synthesizers tones (low deep drones and high resonating harmonics) with didgeridoo, ocean waves, rain, water, birds and other natural sounds and instruments. Mantra attempts to create sound structures that "induce a meditative state that synchronizes brain wave frequencies" or, more simply put by Mantra himself, create "Brain Hemisphere Harmonic Healing". He has been active since the early 90s and released many full-lenght albums on Silent, Hypnos and Silentes. He has also collaborated with Rod Modell on the seminal "Sonic Continuum" and "Radio Fore", and also with Charlz de la Casa. According to Michael's own words, «"F/C" is an almost minimal atmospheric ambient drone core music but not as minimal as the "A/B" album. With stereo headphones this music is a tool for leveraging a change in states of consciousness and states of feeling. You can use this music as isolationist music. You can use this music in a city to filter out the Industrial Death Drone that consumes the souls of humanity. "F/C" evaporates the Veil of Illusion but with layers and layers of soft noise. If you live in the country you can use this music to trigger a journey to another land within. When I listen to this album I feel I am glad to be alive listening to this music. This album is dedicated to world peace for of all sentient beings...» The 13 "issues" series is a 16-page A4 magazine that includes 13 pages dedicated to graphic or photographic works strictly related to an audio counterpart that comes in the form of a 12" record pressed on virgin white vinyl and housed in a transparent PVC sleeve. MOLJEBKA PVLSE -- "Discourse on Lightness" -- CD -- €10
2017 Reverse Alignment, RA-32, (ltd. 300)
Drone / Dark Ambient. After 2015's "A Transformation" Moljebka Pvlse is back with a new work on Reverse Alignment. As the title "Discourse on Lightness" suggest, the new album explore the semantics of "light". As "light" can have obvious different meaning, the three tracks that comprise Mathias Josefson's new album also has a different approach soundwise. As entering track "A History of Levitation" takes a swarming grip on drone with carefully laid out details the second one, "Between Lightness & Luminance", is more experimental, unpredictable to it's character but still keeps to the format. Ending track "A Field Guide to the Sunrise" is somewhat a mixture between the two previous, as if two unmatched views or discourses becomes one common. [label info]

MUSHROOM'S PATIENCE -- "Roma, Wien." -- CD -- €5
2001 Oktagon, OKT-012 / Misty Circles, MCR37
Neofolk / Experimental. Psychedelic post-chanson, a project of Italian artist Raffaelle Cerroni aided by the members of Ain Soph, Spiritual Front, Novy Svet, etc. Amazing mix of abnormalities of all kinds: romantic medolies turn to howls in stomatological chair, serious music steps back under the pressure of atonal crookedness, sensible vocal is replaced with frank mockery, everything is impregnated with the spirit of derangement. Great music.

MY CAT IS AN ALIEN / CHRISTIAN MARCLAY & OKKYUNG LEE -- "From The Earth To The Spheres Vol. 6" -- CD -- €5
2005/2006 A Silent Place, ASP09
Avantgarde / Experimental. This is the re-release of the split ART-LP (Opax Records - special SPACE ART ltd ed of 100/ original 31x31 cm painting on wooden support by Roberto Opalio as cover). Last release in the "From the earth to the Spheres" split series set up by Maurizio and Roberto Opalio aka My Cat Is An Alien on their own Opax Records imprint, sees the Italian cosmic duo splitting the media with well-known audio visual artist, performer and turntable-art innovator Christian Marclay together with cello improviser Okkyung Lee, ubiquitous figure of downtown NY avant-garde scene. Their track "Rubbings" is the result of a live performance recorded at Tonic NYC in December 2003. Christian Marclay's trademarked technique of mixing several ranges of Lps on his multiple turntables, manipulating, fragmenting and altering the phonograph records' sonic nature in accordance with his "theater of found sound" esthetics meets the uncompromising and passionate playing of Korean-born performer Lee, whose powerful cello's stabs interact with Marclay's waves of screaming sounds creating a unique, stunning scenario. My Cat Is An Alien's piece "Beyond the limits of the stars/ Beyond the limits of the grooves" was recorded in 2003 at their Space Room studio in Torino, and has been kept safely in their archive 'till September 2005, when it's been completely remixed and edited appositely for this release. One of their heaviest conceptions to date, the piece is built on electric guitars' strings moaning onto walls of space drones and electronics like ectoplasmic presences emerging from the brillliance of the Void. The initial minimal and claustrophobic guitar chords become more and more an ocean of howling moduled feedbacks combined with fragmented and distorted real-time inserts of post-romantic classical music from old 78rpm shellac records, sounding like radio frequencies transmitted via ether from the furthest reaches of the Cosmos. As the title suggests, MCIAA's need of a non-finite "space music & art" aesthetics research has led them to etch a ghost track (instead of the final lock-groove you can find on the original vinyl) to un-seal the sounds from their actual support; a purpose expressed throughout the whole "From the earth to the Spheres" series' conception. MY CAT IS AN ALIEN / STEVE RODEN -- "Cosmic Debris Volume II" -- CD -- €5
2007 A Silent Place, ASP23
Minimal / Experimental. CD re-issue of the second installment in the "Cosmic Debris" split ART-LP series set up by Maurizio and Roberto Opalio, aka My Cat Is An Alien, on their own Opax Records. California visual / sound artist Steve Roden's contribution represents the unique experience of hearing him literally 'playing' guitar chords. MCIAA deliver another piece of 'cosmic debris', centered on multilayered echoes of voice, toy piano, space drones raising from a distant horizon, and their own physical gestures performed during the recording, which reproduce themselves through the air, re-play and give birth to echoes of real time that overcomes its own essence, becoming field recording itself, mirror and spectre of its immutability. Their track entitled also features Ramona Ponzini's Japanese bells contribution. Digisleeve. [label info]

This time the space improv duo from Torino, Italy, shares one side of the vinyl with Swedish radical saxophonist Mats Gustafsson. On his track 'I Have Not Set Any Time Limits For The Attempt' Gustafsson plays tenor and slide sax, weevil sax, and electronics. In MCIAA's 'Everything Burns Like Cosmic Debris' the space brothers play astral and cosmic guitars, vocals, mouth harmonica, space toys and burning percussions. Digisleeve. [press-release]
NECRO STELLAR -- "The Expanding Universe 1988-2008" -- CD -- €10
2009 Shadowplay Records, SPR 107
Darkwave / Electro. The next album of the pioneers of Russian industrial music, of the living legend of progressive underground - "The Expanding Universe 1988-2008". As follows from the name - the album includes Russian-speaking songs composed during the period with 1988 for 2008. Plural style presence, courageous experiments, great number of instruments, saturated arrangement and their legendary sound, - from the first chords give us clear picture of, who stands up for this bright work. The concept we can notice here - is the transcendental anarchism and Russian metaphysical terror of direct action. In the conceptual plan we notice here transcendental anarchism and Russian metaphysical terror of direct action. We only need to ascertain with what masterly steepness NECRO STELLAR punishes the fucked up world of glamour and business, cremates biological madness of expanding logic of a survival and pleasures agonizing the Babylon consciousness of inhabitants. NECRO STELLAR -- "The Primary Aspiration 1991-2011" -- 2 CD -- €10
2012 Shadowplay Records, SPR 133
Darkwave / Electro. This is the anniversary album of NECRO STELLAR, consisting mainly of restored and rewritten material of 90's. Having looked back with smile, I see all our ups, jumps and downs, dark days of emptiness, stale bread and phantom pain of the gone and dead epoch. I pay my last hasty and unabashed tribute to the bitter and dissolute time. To the time that was won and missed, buried without honors, pity and commemoration. The time that is finally ended. And therefore, our album - is naturally on the Limit of Transition. By the fact of its existence it, in the sense, modestly finishes the mean epoch of decomposition of 90's- 2000's. And the New Songs look far in a light distance. The Songs of the New Time - for incarnate Streams of the Flame, for punishing old and building the new world, for all those who "has come to release the Sun"... Love and peace - in everyone's heart. NECRO STELLAR -- "Pulsing Zero" -- CD -- €10
2006 Shadowplay Records, SPR 024
Darkwave / Electro. Veterans of Russian dark wave, quite often shocking with their extravagance, occultists NECRO STELLAR for a long time do not require any more representation to domestic public. However, and not only for domestic: the previous album of this collective - " Saturating Cemetery " - has subdued hearts not only of Russian listeners, but also has been warmly met by the European and American audience. In the 30 of the best releases of 2005 in opinion of the biographer of Goth Mick Mercer "Saturating Cemetery " appeared in the first (!) 10, and such influential foreign editions as ZILLO, ORKUS and GOTHIC BEAUTY gave this creation the extremely positive estimations. Tracks of NECRO STELLAR appear in play-lists of the western broadcasts devoted to schwarze scene, and disks of this band now can be found practically in any parts of the globe, starting from Japan and stopping by Brazil and Argentina. The matter is the unique sound of this collective. The leader of the project Yuri Zvezdniy is known as the brilliant master and the expert in work with an analog sound. Together with his colleagues of band he puts horror into listeners, generating chilling up to depth of the soul, or forcing blood to begin to boil a mix from EBM, dark electro and ambient... The basic musical direction based on sound of the old analog synthesizers, tape processing, physical modeling, guitar drive, magnificent programming, generously seasoned with naturalistic noise and sounds, a different sort of anxious rustles, vinyl effects, industrial Low Fi loops, iron sheets, ominous jingling of scythe and tribal-percussion of human bones, put listener in a mysterious atmosphere of a dark wood of the human consciousness... The variety of vocal components gives the sounding of an album the unique, bright, expressive, sharp-sensual painting. Here are cutting-through ears vocoder chorals replaced by quiet open pathetic singing of the soloist, and gentle, sometimes ethereal motives - wild growling of Anastasia Podnebesnaya... Considering an unanimous opinion of the western critics, it is possible to say, that unique style of performance and the own style of this band which are out of habitual frameworks of the modern electro music, allows to tell about creativity of NECRO STELLAR as of the most interesting phenomenon which has arisen on the ground of their country's schwarze stage. The style of this collective some conditionally name "VooDoo Electro", actually represents difficultly giving in to the description symbiosis of kraut, old school electro and modern electro, some moments seems like trance and experimental... The band have co-operated with many known Russian electronicians. Some of them, in particular Moscow violinist Evgeny Voronovsky from CISFINITUM, took part in record of "Pulsing Zero"... Besides the unique material represented by the band, essential interest for the listeners is the results of teamwork of NECRO STELLAR with pioneers of British electronics ATTRITION, Australians ANGEL THEORY and gifted American divine UNWOMAN. You will find all this on the new album of NECRO STELLAR - Pulsing Zero". [press-release]

The second disk "DISSATURATING STELLAR SPACE" consists of remixes and cover versions by the most interesting bands from all over the world. "Saturating Cemetery" is, in a sense, some kind of rarity and experiment in which wide spectrum of different instruments is presented, from Soviet synthesizers to percussions made of human bones. The stylistics varies from dark ambient and psychedelic rock to electro and cyber dark space. The mild synthetic beat that moves to dance rhythm, the classical contrast between low male vocal and ethereal female one. The occult mystic atmosphere gives the special dark mood to the album. NIMH / NEFELHEIM -- "Whispers From The Ashes" -- CD -- €5
2004 Weird Amplexus, WAX09
Dark Ambient. Ideally inspired by the Inquisition era, like some titles of the tracks may suggest, Whispers from the Ashes presents Nimh (Giuseppe Verticchio) and Nefelheim joined together for the production of a dark oriented CD that alternates obscure and haunting atmospheres with more gloomy and sometimes dramatic and highly evocative episodes... In a blend of low frequencies, metallic sounds, echoes of distant voices and human screams, whispers, concrete noises, ritual processions, suddenly an acoustic guitar chord, some reverberate piano notes, the sound of falling rain, bits of thundering percussions emerge... Like in a disquieting voyage to a far away past, in a stakes and witches age, featuring persecutions of heretics and superstition... A wonderful trip in vein of Raison d'Etre and Cold Meat sounds. A number of items in the Galakthorrö Catalogue have attracted requests for issues or re-issues to be made available as long-play records. Runaway top of the list is the Magic LP from 2007. Today this LP is rare, hard to find, and changes hands for very large sums of money. In order to give those who were born too late, and any newborn afficionados, the opportunity to possess Magic on Vinyl, we are now able to offer a second issue. It differs from the first pressing with a new design, it leans towards the previous one, but has been extensively re-worked while the sound presentation remains unchanged. OVERDOSE KUNST -- "Was ist Overdose Kunst" -- 3"CD-R -- €5
2007 ZHELEZOBETON, ZHB-XII, (ltd. 250)
The Japanese duet Overdose Kunst exists since 2001 and records a strange sort of music which they call "schizopoetry". Rejection of stylistic norms in the name of sound-craft freedom, deconstruction and irrational re-assemblage of musical material - that's what stands behind this term. This approach allows them to keep a child's purity and frankness in musical perception with the ability to send an emotional charge without using settled compositional forms. This disc includes the most song-like tracks of the band: crookedly recorded guitars, voices emotionally singing some nonsense in a mixture of several languages, and reversed melodies. Fine and lyrical post-rock from Japanese experimental underground.

'Fallen Camellias' is a tribute to one of the greatest poetess ever, Japanese Yosano Akiko, whose work in literature in the early 1900's is considered as manifesto of the Japanese Romanticism. Imagine a Vashti Bunyan or a early Marianne Faithful singing sweet melodies in Japanese language, and you can have an idea of the musical and poetical universe of PPOPG. The songs of 'Fallen Camellias' are built on acoustic guitar melodies and are made of the same pure, melancholy of the legendary Nick Drake. PATENBRIGADE: WOLFF -- "12.1.21.20" -- CD -- €10
2001/2008 Shadowplay Records, SPR 071
Ambient / Electro. "Sven Wolff" and "Lance Murdock" make no secret of their obsession with heavy machinery. Already at an early age, these two childhood friends preferred the fascinating bustle of large scale construction sites over playgrounds, observing the plethora of busy construction workers and their, in theses boys’ eyes at least, dramatic interactions. Endlessly fascinated with what appears to others as the monotonous daily routines of a construction site, they early on became enraptured with loud and gigantic machines, the glare of orange safety vests, yellow hard hats, and striped cordoning tape. However, the focus of their fervent adoration became the gravity-defying conductors in their seemingly never-ending tower cranes. Though it was clear to them that they did not want to turn their veneration into a career (sic!), their calling was nevertheless quickly apparent – at least supply the construction business with an up-to-date sound. It is exactly this bizarre source of inspiration that seems to have fueled PATENBRIGADE: WOLFF and the duo’s zest for musical achievements since 1998. The musical output of the self-styled tower crane conductors is an invitation to follow them on their mostly instrumental trips across the rooftops of any large city. The observed activity of a day’s work from sunrise to sundown compressed into time-lapsed seconds. Majestically swiveling tower cranes, passing clouds, the hectic flurry of traffic, skyscraper silhouettes. PATENBRIGADE: WOLFF is the soundtrack for this situation and offers a matching mood to any mode of operation. It simply is THE “Electro Ambient for Tower Crane Conductors” and remains dedicated to tower crane conductors across the world. [press-release]

Also Sara Noxx has lend her characteristic cold voice for the songs ''Gefahrstoffe' and 'Krantransport'. PHILLIPS, TOMAS -- "Chuchoter Pas De Mots" -- CD -- €10
2016 13, sps1611, (ltd. 250)
"Chochoter pas de mots" signifies very little, if anything, beyond the immediacy of its sounds that populate a larger field of hushed silent spaces. The flatline tones that waver and conjoin, sharp, high frequencies seeking only to focus rather than innervate the attention low swells, digital flourishes bouncing off of familiar, acoustic gestures, all emerging without meaning. No installation, dance theatre or otherwise aesthetic, ideological context. Which is not to say "Chuchoter pas de mots lacks" consequence. In its discrete whispers it invites a careful balance between rest and concentration, cajoling at the same time that it releases the listening self to its own way in or out of words. The release is presented with a 12 pages 8” booklet with paintings by Richard di Santo and photos by Stefano Gentile and it’s a limited edition of 250 copies. [label info]

RATTI, NICOLA & MARK TEMPLETON -- "Resophonic" -- LP -- €20
2014 13, issue #3, (ltd. 250)
Welcome to the third installment in the 13 issues series. This time is the turn of Nicola Ratti from Milan, Italy, and Mark Templeton from Edmonton, Canada, whose musical work was mixed and mastered by Giuseppe Ielasi and is accompanied by pictures taken by Leanne Olson, also from Edmonton... Nicola Ratti began his musical career as guitar player. Lately his approach is more focused on beat-analog experimentation and sound installation. He is currently working with Giuseppe Ielasi, with whom he formed the project entitled Bellows, Attila Faravelli - as Faravelliratti - and ~Tilde, a trio with Enrico Malatesta and Attila Faravelli. From 2007 to 2013 he also played guitar in the desertic soundtrack-band Ronin. He has performed live in Europe and North America, and his albums had been released worldwide by, among others, Anticipate Recordings, Preservation, Die Schachtel, Entr’acte, Senufo Editions, Musica Moderna, Boring Machines, Coriolis Sounds and Holidays Records... Sound artist and media studies teacher Mark Templeton utilizes acoustic instruments, found sounds and sampled material to construct textured, collage-like electronic compositions. In an attempt to describe how his sources are crumbled and reconstructed into new forms, his sound has been called "glitchy," but also "painterly". Templeton's works have been commissioned by organizations and artists of contemporary dance, film and audiovisual disciplines. His music works have been published by Anticipate Recordings, Mort Aux Vaches (Staalplaat), Sweat Lodge Guru and Under the Spire Recordings. He has performed live at international festivals and alternative spaces in North America and Europe... «Often when we think of a city we consider only its visual appearance. We seldom imagine how Edmonton differs from a European city in its sound and how the environment affects the way the sound travels. How does someone from Milan, envision Edmonton? Is it seen as an open arctic space? The sounds of Edmonton, although similar to Milan, end up sounding very different after these sound sources interact with their environments. “Resophonic” is a work that ponders about the creation of a an illusion. The construction in the fieldwork of a soundscape augmented through the addition of sounds that do not belong to it, and that moves in two cities which have a different origin, size, and surfaces, just like unknown protagonists of souvenir postcards. A trip to Edmonton and one to Milan, discovering, as we listen, that the difference lies in the sound-dust of whom inhabit them, in the emptiness of the respective places where our foreign sounds have served as a magnifying lens through which observe them...» The 13 "issues" series is a 16-page A4 magazine that includes 13 pages dedicated to graphic or photographic works strictly related to an audio counterpart that comes in the form of a 12" record pressed on virgin white vinyl and housed in a transparent PVC sleeve. RESCH, ANDREAS -- "Requiem" -- CD -- €5
2002 Weird Amplexus, WAX08, (ltd. 500)
Neoclassical / Experimental. Andreas Resch was one of the two members of legendary (Hyperium Records!) artist Mynox Layh. With 'Requiem', Andreas returns with a genuinely unusual sinister work of morbid atmospheres, an absolutely “must have” release. “Requiem” has a strongly obscure ambience, but cannot be compared to any ambient music, and it's surely an album to refer to endlessly with each listen giving something new to gain, disorienting as though wakening from a nightmare. Immense, striding, sumptuous string arrangements create a majestic and inspiring atmosphere. Andreas Resch is working in some potentially interesting areas of sound experimentation and this is a totally worthwhile and highly recommended opera. There are no other words which could possibly describe the endless feeling of the album. Definitely recommended. In vein of In The Nursery and old Laibach. [Blossoming Noise]

RLW -- "Contours Imaginaires" -- 10" -- €12
2007 Substantia Innominata, SUB-06, (ltd. 500)
After a break SUBSTANTIA INNOMINATA is back with a terrific 3-track 10" by the prolific german composer RLW (Ralf Wehowsky, who started his activities back in the early 80's and was the main member of the legendary german experimental outfit P16.D4). The full title is: CONTOURS IMAGINAIRES. The whole composition is based on only few seconds of piano-sounds and vocals (the rest is "imagination") and the track-titles & pieces offer strong inter-relations in a complex way. The used sounds develop through imagination & decay ("denaturing transformations") and appear in the pieces with different emphases. The "classical" piano-sounds and its highly processed permutations are set in contrast with the highly emotional voice-material, like entering a convoluted labyrinth of voice-frazzles, drones & fragmented strange sounds...... Being on a microlevel ("phantasized cell"), judging the decay of shadows. Are these the memories of single cells? The shadow of abrasion-processes? The slow decay of imaginations? A fantastic work where conceptual thoughts and emotionally driven acoustics merge in a perfect way. 500 copies, colour-vinyl, full colour artwork by Oliver Jakobi. [press-release]

RYR -- "In Spring 117" -- CD-R BOX -- €14
2006/2015 UFA Muzak, UFA05, (ltd. 50)
Apocalyptic Martial Avanguarde. War... Emptiness... Deapair... Hope... Mist... Blood... View... History... Fall... 117 steps... Down... 46 minutes of new experience of the martial atmosphere for the people who have to know more and maybe more dreadful. Vagueness of position turns into doom and rage, urge to kill turns into the only way to live. Retreat as a look into eternal existence. Monuments remember about this... The album is very musically diverse and saturated. Distorted noise, military samples, ritual pulsations, ambient soundscapes. Aside for typical Ryr samples you'll hear apocaliptyc poetry in French, Russian, German, Swedish... The album starts with sprightly hymn of "German girls union" gradually sinking in shots, shouts and weeping, and ends with magnificent "Last Spring" of Grieg. Remastered by I. Potsukailo (Bardoseneticcube). 8 tracks, 46 minutes, pro-CDR, A5 digipak, art-book of 16 pages, certificate, insert, cardboard box. [press-release]

kultFRONT and ZHELEZOBETON labels are glad to announce the new CD by one of the most outstanding Russian post-industrial projects - Sal Solaris. This release follows the logic of the "Der Ruf" compilation CD (2006, Der Angriff) and collects the tracks recorded at different times on various occasions. Among other tracks the disc contains compositions from the compilations "The Black Square" (2006, kultFRONT), "Iznutri" (2007, Ewers Tonkunst), "Rush for Black Celebration" (2008, kultFRONT), "Heliophagia III" (2009, Heliophagia), "Art of Caring the Dead" (2009, Dodozavr), "Heliolatria" (2010, Heliophagia), also tracks from the split 10" record with Stahlwerk 9 (2004, Der Angriff) and several previously unreleased compositions... When describing the sound of Sal Solaris reviewers often mention the neologism "power ambient" and we can't but agree with this term. The music of this duet coming from Rostov-on-Don and Moscow combines the elements of dark, often space ambient, post-industrial and power electronics, a collage approach and a dense saturated atmosphere, not relaxing but rather stimulating the listener. A collection of works created during various years allows to trace the live dynamics of the project - from the austere ideological persistence of the "early National-Bolshevist period" to the more sculpturesque and psychedelic compositions, including some naive but remarkable exercises... The works feature contributions from many band friends, including Russian cosmist writer Ivan Polikarov, lead artist of "Crazy Pierrot Cabaret" Sergey Vasilyev, piano player & composer Anna Antropova, decadent cynic and erudite DJ Deutschmark, master of noises Nikolay Lepesa, trombone player Seung-hui Cho and even Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovskiy... The artwork is done by the famous visual artist and media philosopher Oleg 'cmart' Paschenko (http://holesk.in | http://www.conclave.ru)... With this CD kultFRONT & Zhelezobeton labels open the series named "Die Zeichen" aiming to publish the archival works of Russian post-industrial projects.

SALEM GUEST -- "Visions" -- CD -- €10
2014 Shadowplay Records, SPR 150
Neofolk / Medieval. Salem Guest was founded in autumn 2010 by Andrey "Andy A. Tremo" Agatipov and Maria "Annabel" Agatipova in Ekaterinburg, Russia. The idea of creating the project appeared from the mutual interest in the authentic Western European music as well as the modern Dark Folk genre with its inherent ideological spirituality. Already having some experience in composing and performing, the musicians based their new project on melancholic neo-folk with neoclassical elements. Inspired by the European musical legacy, folklore tradition and modern music of the related genres, Salem Guest create their own material as well as variations of the classical and traditional songs. A lot of instruments are used in the recordings, such as acoustic and electric guitars, Irish bouzouki, hurdy-gurdy, Celtic harp, various percussion and symphonic samples, which allows to exand the boundaries of sound and fill it with different atmosphere. The lyrics are devoted to the stories of the bygone ages - traditional Western European folklore, classical romantic and medieval poetry, occult and esoteric themes. Songs are sung in English, German, Spanish, Latin and other languages. The album consists of 12 tracks and will be interesting to the fans of neo-folk and modern gothic music. [label info]

SIJ -- "The Lost World" -- CD-R -- €10
2015 Reverse Alignment, RA-13, (ltd. 100)
Ambient / Drone. Vlad Sikach is returning to Reverse Alignment with a brand new SiJ album. This time with a grand force of collaborative artists such as Vadim Getiuk (Aeternam Nocte), Sergey Gabbasov, Tim Six (Creation VI), Vadim Grin (Dream Twice) and Robert Rich (among others). As is expected "The Lost World" shows the trademark of the classical SiJ sound, a lot of field recordings ending up with a very much organic and qualitive ambient, soothing and meditative but also combining rhythmic sections without loosing the floating touch of the atmospheres. Making this album Vlad Sikach took inspiration from the novel by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle with the same title. More than hundred years later, "The Lost World" now gets a new form and media via the interpretation of SiJ. [label info]

SIX DEAD BULGARIANS -- "Archangelsk Region Faces" -- CD -- €10
2010 Shadowplay Records, SPR 110
The cult project SIX DEAD BULGARIANS coming from the myth-steeped Northern Russian city of Archangelsk has always lived up to its title of one of the most mysterious and unpredictable musical formations of the country. These tough guys from the White Sea have already released a dozen of albums where they easily and naturally juggle with such seemingly different genres as ritual industrial, dark ambient, IDM and electronic neo-folk, while remaining true to themselves, their trademark charm and quite special cynical sense of humour... The newest album of SIX DEAD BULGARIANS just released on Shadowplay Records, features more than brave combination of the latest achievements in modern audio technology with the sound of many live instruments and also Northern folklore singing, both in Russian and Nenets. "Archangelsk Region Faces" is a manifesto of the modern ethno-industrial resistance, and every part of it is full with new discoveries and surprises. The album was recorded, among other guests, together with a folk singer Ekaterina Zorina from Archangelsk, and Count Ash from MOON FAR AWAY, the legendary fellow countryman of SIX DEAD BULGARIANS. So we can say this release partially continues the line of "electronic neo-folk" started by the previous collaboration album by SIX DEAD BULGARIANS and MMON FAR AWAY "Matitsa". [press-release]

SIX DEAD BULGARIANS -- "Mirror of a Field (Zerkalo Polya)" -- CD -- €9
2016 Shadowplay Records, SPR 152
Ambient / Folk / Experimental. "Wherever we are, - wrote John Cage in his book "Silence", - what we hear is mostly noise. When we ignore it, it disturbs us. When we listen to it, we find it fascinating". Alexander Chulkov and his friends know how to listen to this environmental noise, and while listening, they structurize it, turning it into music. And the vocals by Alla Megaoma add up the ethnic beauty and spontaneity to this recording. Such techniques of combination of the folklore singing and ambient noise were already used in the past on such albums as "Types of Arkhangelsk Region" (2008) and "Silence 29-39" (2011), here they are technically refined to the logical perfection. Favourite piece is "The Return (Vozvrascheniye)" with sounds of forest and singing birds - just perfect! [label info]

SLUMBERWOOD -- "Yawling Night Songs" -- CD -- €5
2009 A Silent Place, ASP43
Psychedelic Rock / Experimental. Debut album from this collective from the North Italian town of Padova, drawing inspiration from artists as diverse as Werner Herzog, Coil, Big Star and This Heat. From laptops to tree-tops - and mixing acoustic instrumentation with a twisted brand of psychedelia - Slumberwood developed their own musical language, brewing a weird amalgamation of sounds. "Yawling Night Songs" extracts nature's many melodies and cacophonies to create a portrait of the heavily romanticised conception of an enchanted European wood as it exists for the youth of the 21st century. A dramatic interpretation of the woods' ambience, leaving a pretty clear sense of what's hiding in the shadows, waiting to be found. Recorded and produced by Marco Fasolo (Jennifer Gentle). Digifile. SNOG -- "The Last Days Of Rome" -- CD -- €10
2007/2008 Shadowplay Records, SPR 063
Electro / Industrial. What's piquing our curiosity, aside from the apocalyptic title 'The Last Days Of Rome' and the confusing art-cover, made by Chris Wood and Richard Grant (who craftily subverted the Cadillac SUV ad), is this new change of route of David Thrussell, aka Snog, very skilled in perpetuating the channels of pop and of his oblique media-social critique, always varying his style. This time, the sequences seem to converge towards downbeat atmospheres permeated by rock influences. Melancholic and cinematic atmospheres are the background of ancient Rome in its darkest days, an all-too-explicit metaphor of the corruption and decay of power. It's a very fascinating album, even though it's not very 'electronic', but this artist has already leaned towards the song form in the past, still coherently keeping the energy levels and his activism high. [Aurelio Cianciotta, Neural] Russian edition with 6 bonus tracks.

STILLIFE -- "Lullabies" -- CD -- €10
2012 Shadowplay Records, SPR 141
Neofolk. Eleven well-known Russian traditional lullabies are retold in an absolutely unrecognizable manner. Besides, the overall musical style of the project undergoes significant changes. Chill and all-devouring electronic soundscapes of the first albums give way to dreamlike acoustic moods. A new album is created upon the basis of classic sound of European neo-folk music and the unique melodism of Stillife. And it definitely won’t let you go from the first guitar chord until the last viola passage. So, when the lights go out and the last gleams of sunset are fading away, it’s time for “Lullabies”, it’s time for Stillife. [press-release]

T.A.C. -- "Splintered" -- CD -- €5
2004 Small Voices, SVR04009
Leftfield / Experimental Pop. Here they are again! Less than a year's passed since the release of "Twilight Rituals" and T.A.C. are back with a new full length album, maybe the band most accessible effort to date. But don.t expect a pop oriented sell out. Instead be prepared to fall inside T.A.C.'s kaleidoscope once again. And again. While supposed to slow down their recording activity for a while, during the summer of 2003 the band undertook a series of free form improvisational sessions that in a very short time brought to a bunch of fully produced new compositions. Their twelfth release actually. T.A.C. sonic trip goes on through unexplored territories, forcing the borders between electronica and new psychedelic soundscapes, making room for gentle ballads merciless deconstructed. Enter now T.A.C.'s surreal and swirling world. The tribernetic shamans are back. [press-release]

TAMERLAN -- "Infinigrammaton" -- CD -- €10
2019 Steinklang Industries, SK117, (ltd. 200)
Neofolk. This work represents the continuation on of the sonic journey started on the previous album (Luciferian),
it is also the start of a completely new chapter, bringing together the ethnic sounds of deep Siberian tribes, nomads from far east, as well as ancient mysticism of Balkan peninsula, shrouded in the modern extreme music tendencies (dark folk, black metal, and industrial). This symbiose takes the already recognizable Tamerlan’s death folk sound to a completely new level, making “Infinigrammaton” the most epic and most ambitious album up to date. [label info]

TEMPLEBEAT -- "The Grey Space" -- CD -- €10
2010 Silentes Minimal Editions, sme 1035
Electro / Industrial. Templebeat was an Italian electro/industrial group related to Thee Temple ov Psychic Youth and its Italian branch T.O.P.Y.TV. Templebeat released a number of eps and tapes in the early 1990's. This album gathers tracks from their tapes "Interzone", "Treviso Underground" and "V.I.T.R.I.O.L. #3", remastered as usual. Includes a cover of DAF's "Der Mussolini". Musically, this is more in line with say Clock DVA than Psychic TV, also more or less reminiscent of the band's more famous country mates Pankow and Limbo. This is a radical departure from the Silentes label catalogue that mostly focuses on lush ambient soundscapes. Nevertheless a historical release! [Some Place Else]

THELEMA -- "Burnt Memories" -- CD -- €5
2006 SmallVoices, SVR05016
Goth Rock / Neofolk. Nine years after their last release (Night of Pan), the Italian dark Wave band par excellence have finished a new collection of songs, now available on SmallVoices. The band was born in the winter of 1984, when former Throbs of Pleasure Giorgio Parmigiani and former Les Blousons Noirs Massimo Mantovani met in some punk rehersal room in Modena, their hometown. The third original member was former T.A.C. Gregorio Bardini, and together they gave birth to a band influenced by the ideas, philosophy and magickal opus of Aleister Crowley. 'Thelema' was the obvious choice for a name. Thelema were immediately hailed as one of the best gothic bands in Italy, even if their roots were punk and their leanings were more towards experimental and industrial sounds, as the many tapes produced through the years testify. The original cell, Giorgio and Massimo, has never been broken, altough many other musicians have joined them through the years. One thing must be said: even if their releases are not many, they never quit. Even when the band split (more than once and for long spans of time), the magickal link between them always kept them busy working, through music or other media, on the discovery and realization of their True Wills. And now they're back. Mature and disillusioned, self produced. Once again, they're hard to label. Once again the sounds have changed. BURNT MEMORIES is different from NIGHT OF PAN, which was different from TANTRA, which was different from ROSA+CROCE (see their site - www.thelemaband.com - for a list of all their releases). The old strenght is not immediately here, as the music seems softer (but - who knows? - the live set could be a BIG surprize) and more oblique (Eno is one of Massimo's heroes) than ever, but the violence is still present in the lyrics and in the story/concept which links all the songs in BURNT MEMORIES, and so is the Magick, that they never abandoned and which has never abandoned them. TURRA, LUIGI -- "Enso" -- CD -- €5
2007 SmallVoices, SVR07028
Ambient / Experimental. An organic and contemplative three-track warm ambient epic (50 minutes), that resonates on subsequent listenings. Infused with Japanese sonic architectures and rigorous reductionist principles, this is a deeply meditative world of gently plucked instruments, drifting tones and faded atmospherics, peppered with closely focused tinklings and crystalline shards to add texture. Best appreciated in a solitary environment, these restful pieces will bring calm to an engaged listener. Digisleeve. [label info]

VALANX -- "Tidelands" -- CD -- €10
2018 Reverse Alignment, RA-41, (ltd. 200)
Water is flooding. Land is obsolete. Scattered tribes rule their part of the world. Struggling. Adapting. "Tidelands" is Valanx soundtrack to a post-apocalyptic future where water is abundant and the circumstances of living has changed radically. This is the final album by Valanx and Reverse Alignment is very happy to release it. We've been fortunate to work with such great artist... "This album is the swansong of my long musical journey and I would like to dedicate it to the most important person in my life, my wife Petra. Without her I’d be lost in nothingness. Eternal love. I’d also like to thank Kristian Widqvist for his continued belief in Valanx and his dedication to the project. Last but not least, a big thank you to all the listeners over all these years." VELEHENTOR -- "Zona Otchuzhdeniya (Zone of Alienation)" -- CD-R -- €12
2008 Abgurd, AB-53, (ltd. 100)
Drone / Noise. The album is tributed to the Russian «ghost-towns» Kadykchan, Kursha-2 and Halmer-U. Kadykchan («Death Valley» in Evenk) is a miners urban village in Susuman district of Magadan region, which was left by the inhabitants after the mine detonation in 1996. Nowadays only a few native people live in this dead town without central heating and water and power supply in half-destroyed apartments. Kursha-2 was build shortly after the Russian Revolution as a workers village for mastering vast forests of the Central Meshera. In the year 1936, during hot and windy summer, 1200 humans were burnt out alive because of the forest fire that surrounded Kursha and outskirts. Halmer-U («Death Valley» in Nenets) is situated in the area that was used by natives as a burial place for centuries. In the end of 20th century it became another «not wanted» miners town. People were evicted to Vorkuta city by riot squads. Three tracks of disturbing static oppression. All-dead Drone Ambient and sizzling Drone Noise dressing you alive. VELEHENTOR is well-known for its skill in creating the proper atmosphere using only facts, and here it is reproducted as by a direct witness. [press-release]

VOICE OF EYE -- "Substantia Innominata" -- 10" -- €12
2009 Drone Records / Substantia Innominata, SUB-09, (ltd. 500)
This release marks the comeback of the legendary duo from New Mexico, USA, consisting of BONNIE McNAIRN and JIM WILSON! Over a decade ago (1992-1995) VOICE OF EYE released three albums with their unique style combining ethnic, ritualistic & folklore influences in an experimental and highly organic way to create a kind of "transcendental drone ambience", using only "real" instruments & self-built devices and an array of electronic effects. In November 1994 they released an EP entitled "Sprocket" on Drone Records (DR-09), which is still one of the absolute highlights in the Drone series... After this first phase of musical creation VOICE OF EYE focused on building an incredible "Earthship" house in the deserts of New Mexico. In 2007 they returned doing shows in the States, Germany, France & Italy and releasing two limited CDRs. This 10" has 3 tracks with NEW material (entitled "VIRYA", "DHYANA" and "PURUSA") inspired by the wisdom of Buddhist / Advaitic meditation & philosophy, where the contemplation within music & sounds appears as a tool to reach a higher consciousness & awareness of reality... This highly sublime & emotional "other-dimensional" ambience is based on lots of ethereal vocal material, flute-sounds and their typical self-built string-instruments, full of yearning and beauty - almost 39 minutes of material coming on clear vinyl with golden striae, with superb artwork by THOMAS DOHMEN... This is the celebration of the "Unknown", seen as a state of mind where the Ego dissolves into a timeless universal consciousness. [press-release]

2011 Seven Solar Metals, Season One
Industrial / Drone. A monumental album featuring three impressive tracks in which Z'EV (mythical avant-garde experimental artist, percussion master and world wide performer), collects and exhibits brave and incredible sonic solutions, mixing and alternating enormous, deep and sometimes exploding and devastating sound masses based on low frequencies, to noisy metallic sounds, gongs and cymbal stratification... all oriented in temporary resounding "tunnels", where sonic elements are mixed through suggestive cyclic echoes and reverberations, infinite pauses, joining and integrating to other sonic tracks, for an important and unique listening experience. An unmissable masterpiece! [label info]
