ARUM LILIES -- "Dismal Fantasies" -- CD -- €10
2017 Death Continues Records, DCRCD012
Cold, uncomfortable, heavy electronics. "...one of the more disturbing, unsettling releases we have heard in a while... uncomfortable, minimalist noise, very deep drones, death industrial atmospheres and sounds that mimic marginally tuning antique radios and half-effective LP players with old, crackling records. We don’t listen to this music because it’s beautiful. We do so because there is a comfort in discomfort, because sometimes we are attracted to that which evokes images that are often on at the dark horizon of our imagination. Dismal Fantasies totally fits that mold successfully. Disturbing. Unsettling. Fantastic!" [The Noise Beneath The Snow]

ASP / SEC_ -- "s/t" -- CD-R -- €7
2008 self-released
ASp is a parallel project of a Neapoletan impro trio A SPIRALE, consisting of the duo Mario Gabola on sax, feedback and electronics and Maurizio Argenziano on electric guitar. SEC_ is one of the new talents of Italian electro-acoustic music. Improviser and composer, he tries to drive the "musique concrète" in a new dimension, open to the darkest power electronics as well as to the research on feedback devices. His main instrument is the reel-to-reel recorder Revox, that he uses to warp different sound materials, creating unpredictable and grotesque joints, full of cuts, blasts and deep sounds. Continuously trespassing the borders between analog and digital, structured and improvised, narrative and abstract, SEC_ is rather interested in the relation between physicality of sound (and the generation of it) and what we can maybe still call “musicality”... This CD is a collection of impro recorded between June and September 2008 in A SPIRALE basement studio in Naples, edited, mixed and mastered in October 2008 by M. Napolitano and M. Gabola in SEC_ home studio in Casamarciano (NA).
ASPEC(T) -- "El obsceno pajaro de la noche" -- CD-R -- €7
2009 FF HHH, HHH 83
Aspec(t) is ASp/SEC_. ASp/SEC_ is A Spiral and SEC_, both from Naples (Italy). They are free-core, noise, electronics. They are free elecroacoustic improvisation... You are in a small tunnel no light uppon your head, no moon on your left. You walk, you scream, you try to run but you can't. There is no escape. After a while, you stop and you listen. There is El obsceno pajaro de la noche in your ears. [label info]

BATHYM -- "Interference Demon" -- CD-R -- €5
2018 Volok Records, VR-18, (ltd. 20)
Be wary of looking inward. You may find emptiness there. The author tries to tell us about this in the album “Interference Demon”. Great material from BATHYM. The bursting scrape of a guitar is like breaking iron. Pure improvisation of pain.
It all sounds like bone cracking and gnashing of teeth. We recommend to listen only to the connoisseurs of guitar rumble. [label info]

BIANCHI, MAURIZIO -- "The Bowls Of Anger" -- CD -- €10
2010 Menstrualrecordings, LH12, (ltd. 200)
Wounded work, lesioned during the altered spring of 2009, using ruinous electronics, a degenerate piano and waves in decay, with the deteriorated participation of Siegmar Fricke. Extremistic judgements on a grazed world that is worshipping the Wicked One, certain to occur in the last part of the inspected times. It is a dark time for imponderable humanity, and "The Bowls Of Anger" wants to lead our minds towards an unpopular positiveness. [from the author]

BUTTNER, GREGORY -- "Walze 1-8" -- CD -- €8
2008 Firework Edition Records, FER 1068
The source material of the compositions are historical recordings made on wax cylinders (German: "Walze") from the archive of the Ethnological Museum in Berlin. The recordings were all made at the beginning of the last century in different parts of the world. For each of my eight pieces I processed the sounds and noises of one wax cylinder using a computer, sometimes modulating them with sine waves (Walzen 3, 4 and 8), combining them to new compositions. I was interested in the interplay of recorded "memory", imagination (who sang/played what where and why?) and the disintegration of the information by the material (background noise, technical faults, decay), the fading of semiotic contexts and lastly in my electronic processing. My method was to contrast and integrate the sound of the wax cylinders and the transported audio content. [from the author]
C.3.3. -- "Ballad of Reading Gaol – The Cacophonietta" -- CD -- €11
2011/2018 Cold Spring, CSR255CD
C.3.3. is a personal project from Paul Jamrozy, co-founder of original industrial agitators TEST DEPT. The work is inspired by the real life experience of Her Majesty’s Prison Reading. Tracing the history of the location through to the present current political and social situation, evoking the harsh realities of Victorian and modern day Britain. Reminiscent of the finest mid-era TEST DEPT., such as “Gododdin” or “Pax Britannica”, with heavy percussion, strings, and strident vocals. The title C.3.3. is drawn from the cell number where the literary figure Oscar Wilde was incarcerated in Reading Gaol under gross indecency charges. C.3.3. was the pseudonym used for the publication “The Ballad of Reading Gaol”, a poem based on the execution of a fellow inmate. This sonic rendition draws upon the writings of Wilde’s poem and the horrors of prison life for a condemned man, as a metaphor for the universal predicament of all humankind. Remastered with 2 bonus tracks, featuring TEST DEPT. and presented in a 6-panel digipak. [label info]

CLON -- "Sudden Ionospheric Disturbances" -- CD-R -- €7
2006 Gameboy Records, GB85
Clon is a new nom-de-plume for Jorge Castro. I am not exactly sure, why he choose a new name, since 'Sudden Ionospheric Disturbances' sounds not unlike some of his previous work. He uses field recordings (or, who knows, air recordings from the Ionosphere?), which is samples in the lowest form possible (1K?) and then starts fiddling about with them, attacking the material with the sound effects, such as reverb and echo, and creates another passage of densely layered ambient industrial - see where the idea of a series comes from? - release. Clon is the most raw diamond of this lot, the least complicated and perhaps the most noisy one. It's certainly one that fits the work of Castro so far quite well. [FdW, Vital Weekly]
COIL + ZOS KIA + MARC ALMOND -- "How To Destroy Angels" -- CD -- €11
2018 Cold Spring, CSR263CD
COLD SPRING are proud to announce the complete recording of ‘A SLOW FADE TO TOTAL TRANSPARENCY’. Recorded 24th August 1983, at the AIR GALLERY, London, UK. Personnel for the performance – John Balance (Coil), John Gosling (Zos Kia), Marc Almond (Soft Cell) and live mix by Peter Christopherson (Coil, Throbbing Gristle). All audio has been remastered from the original tapes, is previously unreleased, and is EXCLUSIVE to this release. Liner notes by Michel Faber (‘Under The Skin‘, ‘The Crimson Petal And The White‘). 1. “HOW TO DESTROY ANGELS” – the complete 23 minute piece. 2. “HOW TO DESTROY ANGELS – ZOS KIA REMIX” – a 9 minute unheard remix by John Gosling. 3. “BAPTISM OF FIRE” – Unreleased recording of Zos Kia / Coil at Recession Studios, London, England, October 12, 1983. Michel Faber: “Imagine how out-of-step with the dominant culture Coil were when they unveiled themselves in the Air Gallery to perform A Slow Fade To Total Transparency. Subtitled How To Destroy Angels, the music – a backing track prepared by John Balance, John Gosling and Peter Christopherson – bears only scant resemblance to the How To Destroy Angels 12" that Coil would release as their debut vinyl the following year. Instead of the meditative ritual gongs of the 12", what we hear here is a restless, queasy melange of industrial noise, its eerie whistles the perfect backdrop for Marc Almond as he recites a bitter tirade against an ex-lover”. CD edition is presented in a glossy 6-panel digipak. [label info]

Lesser known noise-industrial project by Alexei Tegin, founder of the ritual choir PHURPA. "CORPS is the sound of the future after the third world war. Destroyed civilization, radioactive desert, all destroyed by the nuclear apocalypse. Remains of mankind are hidden in underground bunkers and create their own new world, in which music will also exist. Music couched in new form. Music the sounds of which are extracted from the tools collected from what was left after the planetary catastrophe." [label info]

DIAGNOSE: LEBENSGEFAHR -- "Transformalin" -- CD -- €13
2007 Autopsy Kitchen Records, AKR014
One day this year after the holidays, a package arrived here at the AKR headquarters just as they do every other day of the year... this package was indeed different from all the rest. Most notably the claws protruding from the padded envelope as I began tearing into the package gave me an unforgettable startle but that also piqued my interest to a new height concerning the daily AKR mail flow. Those claws once belonged to a Hawk whose demise led to the "gift" in this package. The remainder of said package contained only 2 sheets of paper...noticeably covered in blood of some sort with greetings from none other than Nattramn of Silencer. We were of course very familiar with his work as Silencer and the mesmerizing "Death Pierce Me" album which is nothing short of a classic around here. Diagnose: Lebensgefahr and his "Transformalin" album are the beginning of a new though not unfamiliar journey into the dark recesses of the mind and those terrors that inhabit them. [label info]

2018 Volok Records, VR-13, (ltd. 20)
Guitar drone doom / industrial / noise from Kiev, Ukraine. "This is a gloomy dream. Images float before the dreamer's eyes one after another. Becoming more terrible and more desperate. I want to escape, to wake up. But the dream is like a spider's web, holding you tight. Horror penetrates the heart. Breath is interrupted. You are falling into the abyss. And only someone's eyes are watching your suffering in the dark." [label info]

DODSMASKIN -- "Fullstendig Brent" -- CD -- €10
2017 Malignant Records, TumorCD104
The physical debut for Norway’s Dødsmaskin, Fullstendig Brent («completely burnt»; «holocaust») is a meticulously crafted effort that presents to the listener a sonic interpretation of one of the darkest chapters in Norwegian history, namely the witch trials that took place in the country's northernmost regions during the 17th century. Assembled constructs that incorporate field recordings, drones, atonal melodies and clusters of distortion and searing noise, Dødsmaskin transcends all genre classification, pushing boundaries while deftly navigating through a spectrum of post-industrial soundscapes. Tracks can and often start quietly and introspectively, then build to explosive climaxes of unbridled tension and razor sharp intensity, with dense pneumatic blasts intersecting with caustic frequencies and mechanized throb. It’s that kind of unpredictability, attention to detail, and forward-thinking craftsmanship that’ll have you thinking Kevin Drumm one minute, and Sistrenatus, STROM.ec or Propergol the next, and what makes Dødsmaskin such a vital new entry to the Malignant roster. Mastered by Rafael Anton Irisarri of Black Knoll Studio, N.Y. (www.blackknollstudio.com) and presented in a 4 panel, textured digipak. [label info]

ELEKTRONAVN -- "Audelà L'Inconnu (Vertical) / For Theo Angelopoulos" -- CD-R -- €7
2007 Empty Sounds Rec., ESR 007
Audelà L'Inconnu (Vertical): A classical soprano (Trine Vestergaard), a medieval hurdy-gurdy player (Søren Hammerlund) and an impro-guitarist (Stephan Sieben) were - one by one - asked to improvise in a long tunnel under some railway tracksin the southwestern part of Copenhagen. Elektronavn (Magnus Olsen Majmon) recorded it, computerized it and composed a work where each part/layer is presented horisontally (Audelà L'Inconnu Horisontal) and later on this work where the parts have been mixed to a hybrid vertical collage track... For Theo Angelopoulos: this work has earlier been released as 'forme' but has now been given a new name. An ode to the Greek director. [liner notes]
ELEKTRONAVN -- "Rationale Mystique" -- CD-R -- €7

ENDLESS MELANCHOLY -- "Fragments of Scattered Whispers" -- CD -- €12
2018 Dronarivm, DR-55, (ltd. 150)
'Fragments of Scattered Whispers' is the sixth album from Endless Melancholy, a solo-project of Oleksiy Sakevych from Kyiv, Ukraine. It follows previous releases on labels such as Preserved Sound, 1631 Recordings and Hidden Vibes. 'Fragments of Scattered Whispers' is a collection of soft piano melodies and transparent ambient textures, gently flowing one into another. On this album Endless Melancholy continues with the tape sound explorations, started on his previous album 'The Vacation', but in a new, more distinctive way. On this occasion, Oleksiy teamed up with Krzysztof Sujata (known for his musical outfit VALISKA), who did some outstanding job on processing the tracks through different kinds of tape recorders and mastering them afterwards. Accompanied by a stunning artwork by an acclaimed artist Gregory Euclide, 'Fragments of Scattered Whispers' is meant to evoke hazy reminiscences from the deepest corners of listener's mind, like a blurry photograph suddenly falling out of an old book. Northern Irish Halftribe’s (Ryan Bisset’s) third album and Russian imprint Dronarivm’s fifty-third catalogue entry arrives punctually to soundtrack the coming summer - or eternity, apparently, if you like. It is indeed suitably warm and familiar stuff, going straight for the bliss-out button with dreamy, droning pieces mixing airy synths and calm field recordings. [label info]

HIVE MIND -- "Forgotten Thirst" -- CD-R -- €7
2005 Troniks, TRO-199
It's strange, Hive Mind... it's not aggressive in itself, never saturated; it is even rather calm... Greh Holger always provokes the mind and the body by a dull, latent violence, asphyxiating to be precise. His music is carbon monoxide; it goes unnoticed, it seems harmless, light... it spreads, blocks the interstices, sneaks through the sound space... and then it's too late, once we become aware of the danger, we are caught trap: the low wall slowly crushes the rib cage, with a perfectly inhuman regularity and slowness. It's a bit like the Charlemagne Palestine robots; they must surely roar with pleasure listening to these heavy and atonal rumblings. As for the humans who try the experiment, they have only to watch their body wither, their air become scarce under the coming of this phantasmagorical music as emotional as a high voltage line. [Guts Of Darkness]
JUN, YAN -- "V" -- CD-R -- €8
2011 Kwanyin Records, kwanyin 044, (ltd. 166)
Electronics as opposed to the field recordings of Yan Jun's “Mars Tour Diary” album. Quite varied, from wisps to thick torrents of sound, sometimes fading to icy near-silence, all engagingly handled. Unlike the above release, one gets a sense of a firm, underlying structure, of a reason for the sounds (however unquantifiable), implying substantial thought in their dispersal. Some really nice ultra-high frequency work as well in the last few cuts, frosting the room. Good work. [Brian Olewnick]

2013 Auditory Field Theory, AFT008, (ltd. 200)
Francisco Meirino's An Extended Meaning For Something Meaningless uncovers deep hidden contexts from the decaying fringe of the auditory spectrum. Here we find ornate beauty in the subtle demise of electronic systems and explore the arcane apprehension of existential degeneration... The recording looks at how to create something out of almost nothing—basic field recordings, static electronics and failed tape experiments. A 16-channel multi-track piece where reel-to-reel tapes juxtaposition with modular synths, laced in a world of field recordings from late night Osaka to hydrophonic sewers... The work consists of three untitled tracks with a total runtime of just over forty-four minutes and comes packaged in a letter-pressed sleeve printed by Ben Owen of middle press. [label info]

MEIRINO, FRANCISCO -- "Untitled Phenomenas In Concrete" -- CD -- €10
2012 Cave12, c12O03, (ltd. 350)
Composed between 2008 and 2011, “Untitled Phenomenas In Concrete” is a piece made out of 85 HighC/UPIC* sessions and 18 external sounds (recordings of snow falling, bones cracking, magnetic fields and insects). *UPIC is a computerised musical composition tool, devised by the composer Iannis Xenakis. It consists of a digitising tablet linked to a computer, which has a vector display. Interested by Xenakis’ approach and wanting to draw the sound before hearing it, Francisco Meirino spent nearly four years composing/drawing line by line “Untitled Phenomenas In Concrete”, listening to every line, gradually adding on lines and sounds, erasing, reassembling, gathering and discreetly weaving recorded sounds into the piece to “humanise” the whole. As a final touch, the piece was transferred on reel-to-reel tape to add some warmth to the cold digital processing of the UPIC. In short, this is a meticulously created album, the result of which is a completely coherent sound arrangement. Made with great care, “Untitled Phenomenas In Concrete” is a captivating and dense piece, a new gem in the already impressive discography of Francisco Meirino. [label info]

MURDEROUS VISION -- "Ghosts Of The Soul Long Lost Volume Three" -- 3 CD -- €15
2014 Live Bait Recording Foundation, LBRF046, (ltd. 300)
Dark Ambient / Death Industrial. This third volume in the Murderous Vision archival series is a special addition. Offering three CDs of out of print material to celebrate 20 years since the inception of the project. Disc one features the 3rd full length album, "Suffocate… The Final Breath", originally released in 2000, and out of print for over 10 years. This album was the first to be recorded as a solo effort by Stephen, and considered by him to be the real first album. It was with on this release that the classic MV sound was born. Created as the last century came to a close. Recorded 100% on the trusty old Tascam 244 4-track tape machine, in the original location of Storms of the Underworld in Fairport Harbor, Ohio. Disc two is the complete album "Salvation on Sand Mountain". Originally recorded and released in 2010, as a C-80 by Danvers State. This is the first time ever on CD. Features many guest vocals by The Vomit Arsonist, Cunting Daughters, Nyodene D, Fascist Insect, Darin Sullivan, Reichardt van Greiken and others. Disc three contains two releases that originally were released by LBRF in 2011 and 2012 respectively. Starting off with the harshest MV release yet, "Echospore". Recorded manically over the course of three days in September 2010. Exploring the shamanistic properties of psychedelic mushrooms, recorded 100% under their influence. Yes, it sounds like it too. Rounding out the set, is tracks from the split with Skin Graft, "Corpse Abuse". These frantic power electronics tracks are some of my favorite i've ever recorded. Featuring an absolutely mind numbing and schizophrenic vocal performance by Kat Stewart on one track. This volume is packed in a six panel full color eco-wallet, with cover painting by Necro Doll and graphic design by Andre Coelho. Just under four hours of music, for one super low price. Limited to just 300 copies. Celebrate with us! [label info]

Dark Ambient / Death Industrial. Upon returning from a successful gig in Helsinki, Finland several inspired late night recording sessions began to take shape and morph into something a bit more cohesive. Voided Landscapes is a bleak journey into the paths of dark industrial and minimal death ambient. Using an arsenal of electronics, field recordings, strings and less conventional items, Voided Landscapes is a shifting beast that covers a lot of ground, but stays on a course that will not disappoint long time followers of the project. Features guest appearances by Robert O'Lexa (Vengeance Space Quartet), Pauline Lombardo and Rebecca Potter (Both of Cunting Daughters). Packaged in a 6 panel digisleeve with photography by Andy Henry that is printed on heavy uncoated retro paper stock. [label info]

OLSSON, KRISTIAN -- "Att Vara Dar Jag Var Innan Jag Var Jag" -- CD -- €10
2010/2016 Old Captain, OCCD26, (ltd. 250)
The much acclaimed and sold-out debut LP of Kristian Olsson (Alfarmania / B.O.T.C. / Survival Unit etc.) is now made available on compact disc through Old Captain. Originally released in 2010 on the Swedish label Nattmaran in a limited edition. "Att vara där jag var innan jag var jag" contains 10 tracks making for a neck-breaking journey down a rabbit hole paved with rusty metal, the only light coming from cobwebbed, broken lead glass windows. And just when you think you are about to land in a bone-infested, giant badger’s nest, the winding hole takes another turn, and you fall backwards down a chute filled with sharpened rods which have impaled all who have come this way; a never-ending fall into a bottomless pit of despair. The acoustics contained in the tracks are a bit clearer than Olsson’s trademark style, but expect nothing less than a relentless 43-minute gut-punch with an iron-clad skeleton fist. Inspired by drastic changes in the artist’s personal surroundings, the recording is an obituary of a special time in the annals of the Sundsvall catacombs which this artist has frequented for far longer than what the doctor ordered. Recordings were made with the expert operation of the usual electronic nightmare arsenal of the Styggelse satanic whore-lord, in addition to thighbone flutes, bowed cymbals, metal barrels, chains, whips, and just about every other abominable material or implement this filth-pig heathen could assemble from the recesses of his anti-human haunts. With the determination of a snake, the stealth of a panther and the grace of a one-legged terminal patient on an ether binge, Olsson crushes expectations and excels through outright excellence. Limited to 250 copies in a 4-panel matte-laminated black & white Digipak. [label info]

RLW -- "Fall Seliger Geister" -- CD -- €10
2013 Dirter Promotions, DPROMCD94 / Black Rose Recordings, BRCD 12-1011, (ltd. 500)
Dirter Promotions presents a stunning new album by Ralf Wehowsky. He is currently one of the most respected electronic composers of our day. Ghostly creaking sounds mix with highly complex electro-acoustic and electronic sounds. This description may sound familiar, but no sound is what it seems and RLW always manages to stay far ahead of his contemporaries. His music is impossible to pigeonhole into one simple bracket. It is neither industrial nor musique concrète, nor computer music nor improvisation. Limited to 500 copies, the CD comes packaged in a Japanese mini LP-style sleeve with textured reverse board printing and black inner sleeve. [label info]

SHE SPREAD SORROW -- "Mine" -- CD -- €11
2017/2018 Cold Spring, CSR231CD
Much demanded CD edition of last year's sold out vinyl release, with 2 bonus tracks. "Mine" is the second release for the Italian artist Alice Kundalini with her solo project She Spread Sorrow. Between the dark rooms of an abandoned college, where whispers and obscene thoughts mingle, where little bells and distortions come together, the inner voices are fleeing to the rules of harmony to awaken a darker sound, hidden and deprived, of those who have something to hide. Ritual deathscapes, obscure Death Industrial, sinful Power Electronics. The two bonus tracks, bringing the album to 46 minutes, are majestic, heavy and claustrophobic, perfectly complimenting this already intense masterpiece. 6-panel digipak. [label info]

SPLINTERED -- "Turned Inside Out" -- 2 CD -- €14
2013 Totuuden Sarvi Levyt
Splintered was a band around Richo Johnson, but with a floating membership that included Colin Bradley, Paul Dudeney, James Machin, Steve Pittis, Paul Wright and Stefx and as such they toured around, released some LPs, and CDs and more 7"s, the preferred format for an experimental noise rock group. I must admit I forgot how great they were but this double CD compilation of 'demos, singles, bsides and unreleased material’ is an excellent reminder. The cover lists per track who plays what, so you get this floating line up working quite nicely. A typical Splintered is twice the length of a normal pop song, six, seven minutes and has loud drums, banging about, a wall of guitar sounds, a strong bass and vocals being shouted about, reminding the listener of the good ol RAMLEH. Then there are ornamental bits, such as samples thrown in, or radio sounds. Its quite noise based, but also a great psychedelic feel to it. I totally forgot how great SPLINTERED was! There is a great driving motorik between this music, the power electronics vocal-style and the strong riffs. It bangs on and on, but on the second disc there is also a bunch of shorter pieces, which are even more experimental in nature, carried by a solitary rhythm and weird, electronic sounds, or a droney excursion such as ’(Behind The) Smokescreen’. I immediately took out the other releases I have by SPLINTERED so I can play all of it tonight, post-review time. Totally energizing music, lifting the spirits up; high up in the sky and one is totally exhausted when the music is over. What a blast from the past! [FdW, Vital Weekly]

Yes, is that the possibility? Have we ever heard such a thing? Now the man also takes on rock songs of English SPLINTERED and works on them in his inimitable way ... what comes out of it is music that somehow reminds of rock, but this rock must have taken place in a parallel universe, it is as if you listen to 'normal' music with uninvented drugs! WOW! On the CONTRASTASTE label! [Drone Records]
SYSTEM MORGUE -- "Foret Noire" -- CD-R -- €5
2017/2018 Volok Records, VR-17, (ltd. 20)
Guitar Drone / Shoegaze. In darkness and silence the seed grows. This mysterious process is hidden from view and hidden from attention. This is real magic. Magic inside. Magic in the depths. Peace and quiet is fertile ground for a miracle. We all come from there. We all come from the seed of a dark forest. And sooner or later we all come back. Under the maternal canopy of nature. Withered foliage and roots of the trees. Wet earth will keep our memories. Perhaps in order to revive us once again. [label info]

TEETH ENGRAVED -- "Starving The Fires (Pt.I)" -- CD -- €10
2014 Malignant Records, TumorCD74
Formal debut of this Portland, Oregon duo signifies not only a new addition to the Malignant family, but a vital entry into the death industrial field. Using a broad array of hand-made or modified instrumentation and layered processing, TEETH ENGRAVED have crafted one of the more despondent and grime encrusted releases to populate the roster; Frayed, noxious frequencies, crumbling static, and corrosive drones that teeter on the edge of abrasiveness mixed with a rotting underbelly of cluttered, industrial churn, falling somewhere between the smoldering scourge of GRUNTSPLATTER and the dread filled, post-mortem atmospherics of ANENZEPHALIA. The corresponding result is 7 lengthy tracks that thrive on abandonment, hopelessness, and negativity in a desolate, post-apocalyptic environment. Run time: 70:69, lmtd. 500, DVD packaging, mastered by John Stillings of Steel Hook Audio. [label info]

TIDAL / PETER DUIMELINKS -- "Ablution" -- CD EP -- €7
2006 Alluvial Recordings, A24
In Judaism, ablution is the process of washing away physical and mental impurities. Upon completion, the mind and body are cleansed and renewed. New York composer Tidal (David Brownstead) and Dutch composer Peter Duimelinks (Kapotte Muziek, Goem, THU20) collaborated on this work over the course of 2004-2005. The piece was traded back and forth between the two artists several times until it was fully realized. Ablution is a contemplative work which explores darkness and light. Momentum ebbs and flows in soothing washes. Tones, hums, and brittle, crackling interludes intertwine to flesh out a murky smear of sound. Ablution is approximately 20 minutes in length and packaged in a 5-inch sleeve. David selected photographs for the front and back covers which suggest submerging into darkness only to emerge into a blast of white light. [label info]
UNITED FRONT -- "By All Means II: The Fall Of Church And State" -- CD -- €10
2017 Malignant Records, TUMORCD121, (ltd. 300)
Previously known as U-731, Gordon Lazarus’ project returns to the Malignant roster, now as a duo and rebranded as United Front. The same incendiary and antagonistic principles apply as before, only heightened and intensified with By All Means II (The Fall of Church and State), which burns with fervency and scalding anger, painting a picture of a country rife with corruption and spiraling towards war and strife. Even as it’s primarily centered around US policy, this has a more distinctly European feel than before, channeling mid-late 90’s German acts with its singular frequency throbs, samples, hostile vocals, and ominously atmospheric washes of toxic electronics. Released as a joint experience between Oppressive Resistance Recordings and Malignant, By All Means II is a dire proclamation and should serve as a wake up call to those previously content to sit by the wayside. Dark Drone Folk. An interesting combination of almost monotonous dark drone background and otherworldly low-pitched voice singing a sort of Russian traditional mournful songs. Like creeping thoughts reluctantly twisting in a head of a forester, locked down in his hut because of endless blizzard... "Don't ask for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for You. Unfortunately, few of us remember this saying. Immersed in everyday life, we run in an endless circle of concerns and don't remember who we are and why we live. We forget that we are all temporarily on this earth, that we are only grains of sand in the sandglass of eternity. Stop, mortal! Think about it, is it the right way to live your short life?" WHEN THE MOON IS IN HER SECOND QUARTER -- "s/t" -- CD -- €11
2018 Status Prod., SP 09 CD, (ltd. 200)
Ritual Ambient / Death Industrial. The lunar tree stretches its branches, as if they were the tentacles of a monster, and pulls, clings, embraces the lost souls. Soon, paths and glades slowly covers with mosses and herbs. Forest spirits groan between the tumbled-down tree trunks, giving birth to the horrifying music, when the Moon is in her second quarter...
Status Prod. presents the self-titled debut CD album of the anonymous ritual ambient / death industrial project When the Moon is in its second quarter. Two nameless hymns-rituals narrate the chthonic nature of the forest, which resists any manifestation of the human presence. Whimsical drawings of rhythms and drones call into the darkest, forbidden forest thickets and make the souls get lost in them forever... The album was released in 200 hand-numbered copies in a folder/pennant made of black designer cardboard with the silk-screened artwork by PAINT-IT-BLACK DESIGN in silver color. For connoisseurs of old-school ritual industrial in the spirit of Korpses Katatonik and Trepaneringsritualen, as well as Phurpa and Vril Jäger. [label info]

REUTOFF feat. DEUTSCH NEPAL -- "Eating The Dust" -- LP -- €33
2018 :retortae:, Venenum 5, (ltd. 100)
New collaboration work of two industrial acts known to everyone into that scene – REUTOFF, one of the oldest internationally acclaimed Russian projects, and DEUTSCH NEPAL, one of the basic milestones of legendary Cold Meat Industry. This album took around a decade to be finished and the result is more than perfect – Lina’s voice added to the distorted rhythmiс patterns dwelled in dark ambient structures which is typical to Reutoff bring us the atmosphere of loss, dystopia and despair with some yearning for escape. At the same time, it’s not pure industrial for fans of noisier abstractions, in most parts it’s very musical and melodic and some tracks like “Flame” could be real hits in alternative charts if such still would be alive. The album exists in three versions – LP, MC and CD - we present LP which contains two tracks unavailable on CD, it comes on a white vinyl in full colour jacket limited to 100 copies. [label info]

Studying how bloodthirsty groups wash their hands by adorning their motivation with divine command. Seeing zealots justify murderous wrath by invoking their favorite sacred book whenever necessary. A self-proclaimed court where justice is selectively rendered. A confusing purgatory where hatred is given a legitimacy. After 20 years of droning the project hasn't come closer to unarchiving all concert recordings. Accumulated and forgotten, they are stored on the shelves, like in the depths of the Earth sleeping are the marvelous creatures of the past ages, lime mammoth' dreams and mushrooms' reveries. One winter sunny morning we were able to dig up a handful of them, and after mixing three-four layers and removing extra sludge, we plunged them in the display form of cassettes. The cover shows a sunny snow day at Solar Systo Togathering fest, the Drone scene, which looks like a mammoth skull. [from the author]

2018 Biosonar^Lo-End, 082/2018, (ltd. 11)
Harsh noise project from the Leningrad land, surprisingly manifested in the lacunae of Petrograd Drone Gathering as a festive and carousing element of a noise discourse. Total discordianism in the spirit of hometaping age and early japanoise. Extensive semantic ideas proclaimed in indigestible sound combinations and declamations devoid of textual intelligibility. Artwork - paper sleeve wrapped in duct tape & screws, hand-written info. [label info]

ADRIVA -- "Spenta" -- CD EP -- €11
2017 Mantra Spenta, Sacrament V, (ltd. 300)
Drone / Archaic. The contemplative piece of drone sound art will lead the listener to the depths of preconscious. As the microcosm and the macrocosm are equal, so all the secrets and all the wonders are hidden inside of our deep inner self. Stop the fuss of mind and look into your soul. This is the only way to see the Unfading Eternal Flame... Adriva is the project of Russian ethnographer, artist and musical avant-gardist Denis Shapovalov from Rostov-on-Don. Starting his way in the black metal underground of the early 90s, and after founding one of the first Russian folk pagan band Sunchariot, the artist changed the reference point for drone and experimental music. Unlike the darker and denser paintings of the late Sunchariot, Adriva music is based on the experience of myths and drawing inspiration from archaic beliefs and the culture of the ancients. Presented in 4-panel digipak. [label info]

2007 Loki Foundation, LOKI 47
The third album of ANTLERS MULM opts for deep resonating tones that are harmonious and hypnotic with a greater emphasis on percussion, and the massive foray into song based structures. Dark Beats linked with impressive vibes bringing highlights of an extraordinary world of sound. Phantasmagorial Melodies are melting into an intense atmosphere guided by the outstanding voice of the father of shadows Hans Johm. Throbbing samples enriches this compositions to a homogenic masterpiece. These 10 songs are catching the mood of the warm feeling of being at home and creating a landscape of a coruscant kingdom that lies deep within the lyrical and musical expression. These tracks building melancholy on the most song based LOKI release ever - take a deep breath and get lost in this aural world of ANTLERS MULM. Limited Digipak with 12page booklet. [label info]

BIANCHI, MAURIZIO -- "Teknoise" -- CD -- €10
2014 Peripheral Records, PR008, (ltd. 300)
Maurizio Bianchi has been at the forefront of the Industrial 'scene' for four decades and has no inclination to stop producing music of unique experimentation. A prolific artist that has encompassed several genres, namely Industrial, Noise, Dark Ambient and the Avant-Garde. Bianchi was inspired by the music of Tangerine Dream, Conrad Schnitzler and Throbbing Gristle. He originally wrote about music for Italian publications, before beginning to release his own cassettes under the name of Sacher-Pelz in August 1979. He subsequently released four cassettes under the Sacher-Pelz banner (which have now been re-issued by the Italian label 'Urashima') before switching to his own name or simply "MB" in 1980. Maurizio released a further 14 albums on cassette and LP, before leaving music behind in 1983 to follow a more 'refined' existence. Having been persuaded to return to music, Maurizio once again starting recording in 1998. He still contends to pushing the boundaries of 'difficult' music to this day... Originally recorded in August 1980 this album has never been released in any format and is an extremely rare artifact from Maurizio's collection. Two long tracks, 'Tek' and 'Noise', deliver that unique sound that M.B. has made his own. Primitive drum machines pulse over sinister analogue synths, that create an unsettling atmosphere, perhaps only the true Italian master of Industrial and Musique Concrete could ever create. BIANCHI, MAURIZIO (M.B.) & ATRAX MORGUE -- "M. Plus T." -- CD -- €10
2008 Silentes, sme 0825
Just before leaving this world in 2007, Marco Corbelli (Atrax Morgue) made a series of recordings in collaboration with the old Italian master of pre-industrial culture Maurizio Bianchi (MB). The end result is this devastating album, centred around morbid themes of 'mord' and 'tot'. "Germinal murders... A betulinic bath of hydrocloric acid... Coprological Isomorphism... It is with deep grief that... Terminal death!". [label info]

Brand new album from Japan's Contagious Orgasm. A very unique sound with strange landscapes in numerous and different musical styles. But because of the countless noise, electronica, classical and experimental sounds to dark ambient it is so much more than that. Great twists of sound and colour, a wonderful scene description on each track, a true tour through the electronic sound space. Gatefold digisleeve. [Cold Spring]

CULVER / SEPPUKU -- "Dedicated To Soledad Miranda" -- CD -- €10
2009 At War With False Noise, atwar043, (ltd. 500)
Very proud to get this one out! First time on CD for both these bands: Culver, possibly the most under-appreciated "experimental" musician in the UK who's been making some of the most awe-inspiring drone/noise for years. For those of you who don't know, Lee Stokoe plays bass in Geordie post-whatever geniuses Marzuraan as well as being the current foil to Matthew Bower's walls of scraping guitar noise in Skullflower, but Culver is his "main" project. On this CD he gives us a 30 min+ deluge of harrowing bassy drone. It starts off like the sound of the generator from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and similarly purveys a sense of crawling dread at what is to come. Soon things get more desperate before being crushed into oblivion by a wall of crushing amplifier noise, which slowly develops into a more sedative shifting tone that wouldn't have been out of place on a Conrad Schnitzler record in the 70s. Perfect!... Seppuku give us two tracks in very different styles....first track "Inga" sees a full band play some unbearably heavy doom. Ushered in by what sounds like a tolling bell, this gives way to some Throbbing Gristle-esque hydraulic pumping before the guitars kick in and everything is laid to waste. Brutal low frequencies and inhuman low/screaming vokilllllls....heavy duty! Second track Emanuelle is enhanced by the appearance of Deek and Stevie from Messiah Complex; sounds very post-industrial power electronics, with walls of bleak static forming the backbone of the track, interspersed with what sounds like post-apocalyptic winds of death, and some distorted lines of screeched vocal. Unpleasant... Comes in a jewel case with a 12-page glossy booklet featuring pics of my favourite euro-babes. Released in tribute to the most beautiful woman to have ever graced the world with her presence, Soledad! [press-release]

Dark Ambient / Drone Ambient. We present to your attention THE DARK PORTAL with the album SUICIDE CULT. It's a gloomy and atmospheric Drone, Dark Ambient project of a musician from New Kahovka, Ukraine, performing under the pseudonym "Endless Grief". This is truly a landmark work in this genre among the representatives of the Ukrainian scene. We want to quote the author's words about his creation. "SUICIDE CULT was a dark and frightening experience for me, which I do not want anyone to experience!". THE DARK PORTAL, this is not the main project of the musician. In his creative luggage there are more than four works in the genre Ambient, Dark Ambient, Drone and Post Black Metal. [label info]

FIRE IN THE HEAD -- "Carrion Wind" -- CD -- €10
2009 Turgid Animal, TA389
Since resuming recording this past Autumn, F/I/T/H's work has taken a new direction. "Carrion Wind" is an ambitious work which consolidates the sounds explored with F/I/T/H and Sky Burial into a single project, focusing them into a complex and meticulously composed 63 minute industrial opus, a dark and ominous dirge, both beautiful and brutal, incorporating aspects of metal percussion, dark ambient, drone, doom and industrial electronics. Noticeably absent are Page's vocals as F/I/T/H takes a more "restrained" approach favoring slow layering of synths, field recordings, guitar loops and electronics to build a tension which occasionally peaks at an explosive level comparable to the shorter tracks of F/I/T/H's previous releases. HLADNA & ORD -- "Tunnotauan" -- CD -- €11
2018 Status Prod., SP 07 CD, (ltd. 200)
Ritual Ambient. When the connection between the Earth and the Cosmos is established, the balance is restored, the merging of reality and subtle worlds occurs, the image of Tunnotauan appears, the symbol of duality, polarity, harmony of the universe... HYBRYDS -- "Soundtrack For The Antwerp Zoo Aquarium" -- CD -- €10
1995/2011 Zoharum, ZOHAR 022-2
The reissue of a long-deleted classic album by this legendary Belgian project. 'Soundtrack for the Antwerp Zoo Aquarium' is an unusual album, even in comparison with other Hybryds works. It was created especially for the 150th anniversary of the Antwerp Zoo. Music composed by Sandy and Hermann (of Ah-Cama Sotz) was woven in between the sounds of dolphins, killer whales and the noise of the underwater world. The Zoo director wrote the following in the preface: "Soundtrack for the Antwerp Zoo Aquarium" is a musical journey of the similar stature as "20 000 Leagues Under the Sea" by Julius Verne. Let it be the best recommendation for those who haven't had a chance to get to know to one of the best and most interesting albums in the Hybryds discography. [press-release]

IAMNOTHING -- "Absurdada" -- CD-R -- €7 [-50%]
2014 No Music Rex, Noise 017, (ltd. 21)
Field recordings from Boris Kurtanov (Monologue, Morbus Mundi, MNL9, Eisigwald, Anti-Verstand, etc. etc.). Life of Russian province, chain of home noises as if painting the picture of a usual day. An open window to nature, every minute something comes into live: summer storm, babble of birds, quiet voices of people used to quiet life where days look one like another. Dadaism and absurd suggested by the title are not really audible here (maybe only in some swashbuckling clownish claps and dance of the author himself), actually there's much more of heartfelt romanticism here, and thin voice of a flute in the last track sings that this is all eternal and nothing changes. We are the same as a thousand years before and our world is the same too. Time doesn't exist and all times are present here and now. A beautiful album, quiet, fresh and intelligent. [YAOP]

MERZBOW -- "Marmo" -- CD -- €10
2010 Old Europa Cafe, OECD 131
After two vinyl releases finally a digital album by the master of Japan-Noise on OEC. This album is entitled "Marmo" (Marble for Italian) and is devoted to the Italian and particularly the Venetian marble. Masami was visiting and playing in this magic Italian city several times and was impressed by all the marbles used in the Venetian buildings and paintings... The 3 tracks composing this album are entitled "Merzbotanica-parallela", "Botanica parallela" is a book written by the Italian author Leo Lionni who is also the inventor of such botanic science, a parallel iper-real botanic where imagination is more reliable than reality.... A real psychadelic tribute by the Japanese master of noise to Venice and Italy.... PALE ROSES -- "The Rutted Road" -- CD -- €10
2012 Ahnstern, Ahnstern 49
The Rutted Road is the the third album by French Neofolk band Pale Roses, following Fear Of Dawn (The Eastern Front 2010) and Unveiled (Rage in Eden 2011). Basically, the music remains the same: pastoral guitar arpeggios, melodic bass lines, a bit of piano. However more percussion and sound effects than in the first two albums. Lyrics are a tribute to some historical places (Bedlam and Tyburn), to a few of our favorite authors (The Infidel is inspired by Ambrose Bierce’s Devil’s Dictionary, From The Ancient Woodland by Robert Holdstock and Sea Horses by WH Hodgson; Ancient Mariner, though inspired by ST Coleridge, is not an Iron Maiden cover) and to pagan beliefs and various elements of folklore. 2008 Unrest Productions, UNPRCD02, (ltd. 500)
Finally the first real long-play album of this UK drone-duo presenting 6 long tracks of waving & slowly shifting massive drones, based on "guitar, bass, metal & effects". The sounds here are just flooding immensely, there's nothing "concrete" you can hold on to; the mind & body seem to be washed out slowly by these rustling, feedbacking & deeply reverberating overtune-waves. "Astral Death" is a journey into the pulsating, meandering heart of disintegration. Filed under: dark oceanic. [Drone Records]

REYNOLS -- "10.000 Chickens Symphony" -- 7" -- €16 [-50%]
2000/2003 Drone Records, DR-42, (ltd. 300), 2nd edition
One of the most famous and immensely requested EPs on Drone ever by this unique group from Argentina, finally re-released!! "First 7" for this obscure group from Buenos Aires that has existed since 1993, as they entered the international cassette scene with a kind of abrasive ambient sound. Since then, they have released several cassettes & CDs on various labels, did concerts in their home country and recently worked with PAULINE OLIVEROS. For their first 7", REYNOLS did field recordings of (at least) 10.000 chickens and effected them to create a deep-frequency drone with bits of chicken sounds in it for side 1. As a contrast, side 2 shows the more original face of the recordings, a storm of unbelievably high & shrieking sounds (similar in a way to FRANCISCO LOPEZ insect recordings), which are at last also being manipulated to increase the astonishing orchestral noise the chickens produce. A very successful field-recording experiment made of pure animal sounds!!!" [original Drone Records press release]
RUINS OF MELANCHOLIA / LYUDI NA LDU -- split -- CD-R -- €7
2017 self-released
Ambient / Experimental. Split of two Russian projects. Ruins Of Melancholia "Subtle Whisper of Oblivion" is a 38-min atmospheric track soaked in strage gritty sounds, iridescences and resonances. The track is quite abstract, cold and alienated... Lyudi Na Ldu "Frozen Day" - 24 minutes and a half, here the atmosphere is more dense and dynamic, with an industrial touch. Synthetic vibrations come and go, sometimes condensing in thick clouds of sound, sometimes dissolving in misty haze of echoes.

SHOEMAKER, MATT -- "Erosion Of The Analogous Eye" -- CD -- €10
2009 Helen Scarsdale Agency, HMS 015, (ltd. 300)
The studio of Matt Shoemaker is alive with electricity. Impossibly complex wirings channel signal in and out of analog synth modules, an array of curious aluminums boxes with unmarked knobs, slinkies strung from ceiling to floor creating a set of giant spring reverb units, accelerometers attached to consumer electronic errata, and even a few conventional tools like guitar stomp boxes and a bruised computer. For all of the convoluted engineering that goes into Shoemaker's equipment, the resulting mesmerism in sound appears effortless and strangely organic... Shoemaker has enjoyed a semi-obscure career through his polymath activities that bridge such electronic experiments with a choice library of globe-trotted field recordings and a broad knowledge of avant-garde cinema. For Erosion of the Analogous Eye, Shoemaker waves his hands about his laboratory to construct an ever-evolving album for mutant dronemuzik. His electrical seas of synthetic bristling undulate with placid regularity, only to find Shoemaker contorting these brain-melting psychedelics into cancerous, atonal bellows. Out of his allotropic shifts, one can find swells of irradiated static transform into the graceful chime of temple bells; and electrical phase patterns slip into deep forest murmurings dotted with narcoleptic birds calls. On one hand, this album is prescient of the revival for progressive electronics currently underway in the flood of US post-noise projects; it's easy to triangulate this between Emeralds and Heldon. But on the other hand, Erosion of the Analogous Eye is the continuation of where Shoemaker had begun with his early work on Trente Oiseaux with its grotesques exaggerations of field recording into this beguiling piece of art... The artwork on Erosion of the Analogous Eye features unique hand-dyed abstractions mounted onto letterpressed paper. This has warranted a very small pressing of 300 copies. [press-release]
SKULLFLOWER -- "The Spirals Of Great Harm" -- 2 CD -- €13
2017 Cold Spring, CSR225CD
Noise / Industrial. The new sprawling double disc from black noise classicists Skullflower – referencing Inferno 17, Dante and Virgil’s spiralling descent into the abyss on demon Geryon. Full of harsh beauty and hymns for lost Albions, battle songs against the homogenisation of modern ‘lyfe’ – fuck the new estate!.. “Hedgerows, tapestries, dream woods, dragon lands. After “Draconis”, we have been released to roam through the multiverse, fashioning trinkets and ornaments from jewelled sounds, and leaving them as waymarkers on our astral travels. We seem to be circling, encountering familiar territories, yet always changed, because these circles, from a true perspective; are all part of a great averse spiral, our pattern, our map, which is the terrain itself. You will hear hints and echoes of native keening, lush prog romanticism, and the charcoal textures of noise, but all subsumed within our alchemy, the unmistakable wellspring of sound that is SF”... 6-panel double digipak. TERRA SANCTA -- "Aeon" -- CD -- €10
2004 Malignant Records, Tumor CD 20
The stunning, formal debut of Australia's Terra Sancta signifies a triumphant return to the dark ambient roots (Yen Pox, Caul) that established Malignant. Unlike those early releases though, this is music that emanates not from the abyss and catacombs, but rather from far above; a descent from air to earth that comes bearing down with a crushing, cosmic weight, sending out cataclysmic eruptions of blinding sonic dust across an already wind swept and barren landscape. 4 tracks totaling close to 50 minutes, each track aptly named (Cold Light Infusion, Black Sun, Blood Red Sea, Drowned - Desert Earth II), each track a vibrant, isokinetic piece climaxing in tumultuous, majestic patterns, time and time again. Rarely has a dark ambient CD come forth with some much unbridled power and depth, a sound so expansive it blasts forth in wide screen, cinematic proportions. [press-release]

TERRA SANCTA -- "Disintegration" -- CD -- €10
2008 Malignant Records, TUMOR CD35
Four years after the release of the highly acclaimed Aeon CD, Disintegration finds Australia's Terra Sancta in fine form, having delivered another sweeping, dark ambient epic. Expanding on the sounds explored on his previous releases, Disintegration pushes the levels of intensity to new heights, featuring four long and texturally turbulent emissions of formidable power and depth. With it's enormous washes of stormy drones and billowing, multi-layered atmospheres, these are tracks that grow and build to such a degree they seem to collapse and erode under their own weight, strewing particles into a vast horizon and creating a broad panorama of ever changing desert colored hues. A completely enveloping and engulfing release, this is dark ambient on a massive scale, something Terra Sancta seems to have a knack for creating and something few do so well. Jewel box with 6 panel booklet, designed by Vestigial. [press-release]

TERRA SANCTA -- "Sunken | Buried | Forgotten" -- CD EP -- €10
2011 Malignant Records, TUMORCD51, (ltd. 500)
A brand new CDEP from Terra Sancta, originally planned as part of the next full length release, but the tracks here are significantly different from the newer material being recorded as to warrant a separate release. Sunken|Buried|Forgotten should be seen as a sort of bridge between Terra Sancta's past and future recordings, the three tracks here (total time roughly 23 minutes) representing the heavy droning sound found on particular parts of Disintegration; swaths of roughly textured, post-industrial drift, propelled forth with a massive back weight into a crescendo of epic turbulence, leaving a wake of swirling cosmic debris in its path. Once again, Terra Sancta shows an innate ability to push the limits of what is traditionally considered dark ambient. 4 panel digipak. [press-release]

2018 VOLOK Records, VR-12, (ltd. 20)
"What in essence is our life? A sequence of visions and sensations. Once involved in this restless whirlpool full of horror, prejudices and prohibitions. We are not able to escape from it. An inner instinct tells us that something is wrong. That something in this dance of events, designed to break us and subdue us, is not true. It is not the harmony that our nature seekы for. What should we do? How to quench the inner thirst of God? Feeling despair, we rush into the abyss of uncontrollable revelry and self-destruction or try to achieve liberation and pacification in a pious and ascetic way of life. But all this is a temporary salvation. These are pills that get rid of the symptoms, but not the disease. The feeling of bitterness and doubt does not leave us for a single moment. How can we throw off the chains? How to achieve freedom? Unfortunately, the answer to this question remains hidden." [label info]

Like creeping thoughts reluctantly twisting in a head of a forester, locked down in his hut because of endless blizzard... "Like blindmen we are waving hands in front of us, searching for the way. Like enchanted we are walking in circles again and again. Not knowing what is happening to us. We strive to live this life right, but on our deathbed we are full of regrets and remorse. What do we really want? Do we know what to do and where to go? What do we believe in? In the immortality of soul and afterlife? In something that we see before our eyes? Or do we not we believe in anything at all? Is there any difference between this all? I do not know. I only see that we are fragile, helpless, misguided creatures that have gone astray. Based on the sounds of acoustic and electric guitar and ‘other strings' instruments (theorbo, psaltery bow, violin, Dan Tranh, Guzheng), all the compositions have in common the intent to move the boundary between sound and noise, to consider all existent and imaginable sounds potentially suitable for the artistic creation. Electroacoustic / Experimental. While thinking of a time when languages were not yet shaped, one can reflect on his/her own language roots and try to capture, freeze and then re-vitalize the emotions expressed through vocal sounds. While evoking oral communication that precedes language, one can invent something similar to a protolanguage based on ‘gestural’ sounds, both noisy or tuned, instead on ‘denotative’ sounds. While inventing 'forgotten languages', one should think of languages of sounds, as they were deeply resonant of beings and things. [label info] ZURINE F. GERENABARRENA, ALBERTO PREZZATI, ALICE CALM, YUKA NAGAMATSU, MARTINA CLAUSSEN, LIVIA GIOVANINETTI, СЕРГЕЙ СУХОВИК, YANG SIYU.
