Hello!

This time it took a little longer than usual to prepare the newsletter, but we finally refreshed its design. Some day we'll rework our main website, if we get to it... but for now we remain in the archaic reality of web 1.0 :)

Over the past time, we have received releases from such Russian underground labels as Ksenza Records (Tomsk), Intonema (St. Petersburg), Post-Materialization Music (St. Petersburg), Evil Dead Productions (Ekaterinburg), Paper Moon Republic (Novosibirsk), NEN Records (Moscow / Rostov-on-Don), Infinite Fog Productions (Kemerovo), Status Prod. (Voronezh), as well as the editions of the European labels Greytone / Dusktone (Italy), OPN Records (France), :retortae: (Estonia). As always, you can order anything from this newsletter just by answering this email.

Fresh mixtape comprised on the tracks from this mailorder update is available here: https://www.mixcloud.com/Kryptogen/zhelezobeton-mix-17-june-2018/

Also, we're going on a small vacation. From June 16th till July 1st the mailorder won't function and we'll answer to all emails sent during this time in the beginnng of July!

Best vibes,
M.M.

b°tong -- "Hostile Environments" -- CD -- €10
2013 Greytone, grey013
B°TONG is Chris Sigdell, former member of the German experimental industrial group NID (1995 - 2005). With B°TONG he reaches for the nether regions of experimental electronic sound and has established himself as an acknowledged and known professional soundscape artist. His music is a choice of dark, brooding layers of sound, high-pitched tones and weird electronic sounds that give birth to images of darkness and tranquillity, the solitude of an icy polar night or the equivalent of an underwater journey into a bottomless pit. To create these soundscapes, he uses found samples and self-made recordings and processes these on the computer together with recordings of his own voice and other vocal samples. There are no traditional instruments involved. In a live-situation Chris Sigdell relies on playing metal-sheets, electric toys and various kitchen utensils. The sounds thus generated are put through various effect-pedals giving him that trademark sound. [label info]

Belorukov, Ilia -- "Arzed-One" -- CD-R -- €8
2018 Albertineeditions, ae02, (ltd. 50)
Minimal. «Arzed-one» is my first solo work in this direction and the first one with only electronic instrumentation. This instrument was the Casio RZ-1 drum machine. This model was made in 1986, one year before I was born. It has 12 factory sounds and a possibility to record 4 of your own short samples. In the beginning I used it as typical drum machine to make some beats and rhythm parts and to play live using pads. I wasn’t happy with the result as I didn’t like the 80’s sound enough. But at one rehearsal I found that this instrument has a lively soul when you make some stupid things. I played a pattern with several sounds and each of these sounds was played using every 16 steps of the sequencer. It was like a joke, but when I set the tempo above 160 BPM I started to hear a lot of unexpected relationships between sounds. The time between every step was so small that it sounded almost like drone music to me. When I started to change the tempo this drone started to sound different. Each time it stayed the same, but there was also something different in the small nuances. You can hear a main rhythm, while some other rhythms happen occasionally, even some clear notes. I enjoyed this unstable system a lot and worked with on this album. I used only 6 factory sounds: kick, snare, open/closed hi hat, clap, cowbell. You will hear it without any effects except equalization and very small compression. I recorded the material live with several outputs and room sound, then edited it a bit and mixed to some pieces. The different tempo changes give you a possibility to hear how the characteristics of sounds change through same patterns. [from the author]

bvdub -- "A Thousand Words" -- CD -- €14
2017 Infinite Fog Productions, IF-73 / Fact Of Being, Fact-001
Ambient. A Thousand Words is my longest, largest work to date, and what we can likely all agree this was all coming to - one, single 77-minute piece. Much more than one single narrative, however, it is comprised of 19 movements, and over 500 channels of audio... all performed in one take, live. Combining a colossal library of pre-recorded and treated loops, samples, beds, and instrumentation, in concert with live arrangement, synthesis, loop creation, instrumentation, and even vocals, A Thousand Words is about as raw and unapologetic as anything I have ever made - as well as the most challenging, requiring more equipment, instruments, and dexterity than I have ever attempted before... as well three keyboards, six live instruments, and two samplers, all running through two computers and a phone, simultaneously... Chaotic Bound Systems -- "No Light" -- CD -- €9
2018 Evil Dead Productions, EDP 021, (ltd. 300)
Dark Jazz / Dark Ambient / Experimental. New project of the Yekaterinburg-based musician Andrey Kein known for such names as Sol Mortuus, Church Of Howling Dog, Carved Image Of Emptiness, Zinc Room and Prognostic Zero. Unexpected combination of dark psychoactive jazzy atmosphere and avant-garde compositional techniques. Tenor sax, xaphoon, piano and guitar set the tone here, Kein uses them to create utterly abstract patterns, sometimes crosshatched by nervous passages of the rhythm section. It's impossible to memorize any melody here, but so easy to dive deep in a dark viscous mass of an absurd dreaming, hidden behind the thick curtains of a velvety night.

Enemite -- "Wuyuan" -- CD -- €13
2017 Infinite Fog Productions, IF-67
Dark Ambient. Long time sold out, impossible to find and highly acclaimed Dark Ambient masterpice available again. You can almost sit back and imagine yourself laid on an icy cold mortuary table, with a circle of men approaching you with ceremonial knives. The music on this release really is that effective. "Wuyuan" really is not comparable to anything else from its genre; as usual, the Chinese scene provides us once again with something as twisted and unorthodox as anyone could want to imagine. Gerrard, Lisa & Marcello De Francisci -- "Departum" -- CD -- €15

Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner singer/composer Lisa Gerrard (Dead Can Dance) and film composer Marcello De Francisci have joined forces to bring you their first collaborative album work titled "Departum". This album is a collection of pieces, which are filled with lyrical soundscapes, orchestrated with vocal chants, cimbalom, guitars, percussion, modern instruments and orchestra. An effort that took two years in the making moreover a journey inspired by ancient world cultures (Mesopotamia, Europe & Asia)... After the groundbreaking album "The Trail Of Genghis Khan" written in collaboration with an Australian artist Cye Wood, Lisa Gerrard returns to Infinite Fog with the long-awaited complete extended edition of the album "Departum". Highest quality sound, ambient drifts, soft tribal rhythms, touching melodies of Cymbylom and 144-Strings Yang Chin played by Lisa Gerrard and transcendental vocals. All this gives even more in sum and makes "Departum" pure pleasure listening... The album recorded with Marcello De Francisci, a well-known American composer /visual artist with an Italian-Argentinean background, based in Los Angeles, California. Marcello De Francisci is a big name in soundtracks industry, in 2006 he won the best soundtrack of the year G.A.N.G. award for his work on SCEA's "God of War" game. His music has been used in major theatrical movie trailers such as "Avatar", "Prince Of Persia", "Monsters VS Aliens", "Seven Pounds", "Hellboy" to name a few. Moreover, we can remember his mesmerizing music in the sequel to "Baraka" art-house documentary, "Samsara". In 2009, Marcello and Lisa started to work together and recorded several soundtracks for major and art-house movies. Besides that, their creativity also found a realization in a common album "Departum" which became one of the most top-rated albums in Lisa Gerrard discography. Attentive listener may remember Marcello as co-creator Lisa Gerrard's album "Twilight Kingdom"... CD released in a digipak with massive 20 pages booklet. [label info]

Gerrard, Lisa & Cye Wood -- "The Trail Of Genghis Khan" -- CD -- €14
2010/2017 Infinite Fog Productions, IF-75
With the greatest pleasure Infinite Fog Prod. presents "The Trail Of Genghis Khan" by Lisa Gerrard & Cye Wood! Whatever you know about Mongolia, hardly you could tell more than an Australian traveler Tim Kop, who left 3 years of his life in the marvelous Mongolian steppes, certainly taking with him far more impressions than many can take in his entire life. The film about this nomadic journey was released by the ABC Television Group, and has received many awards, including National Geographic (Australian Geographic)... The album ‘The Trail of Genghis Khan’ made by Cye Wood in collaboration with Lisa Gerrard sourced from material that Lisa and Cye produced for the documentary series ‘The Trail of Genghis Khan’. This album is an emotive interpretation of Tim Cope’s epic journey on horseback from Mongolia to Hungary. Drawing on inspiration from this rugged & majestic landscape and the culture & inhabitants of this unique part of the world, they have allowed their intuition to be the guiding force in the creation of these works... Lisa Gerrard, widely known for her magical voice, by the work in Dead Can Dance and the grandiose soundtracks, together with the Australian violinist multi-instrumentalist Cye Wood, currently based in Berlin, portrayed the emotions and impressions of the epic journey in musical form... Cye and Lisa, both extraordinary musicians who have devoted their entire lives to music since the early years, and it's no surprise that they could find the perfect mutual understanding and create such a wonderful album worthy of being named one of the best in the discography of both authors. Cye already had experience working with Lisa Gerrard as a violinist on her solo album "The Black Opal" 2009. And a year later the first full-length joint work "The Trail of Genghis Khan" was ready. Charming melodies, excellent arrangements, perfectly balanced atmosphere and a bewitching plot of songs, all this in a compartment with the inimitable vocals of Lisa Gerard is "The Trail of Genghis Khan". Hladna & ORD -- "Tunnotauan" -- CD -- €11
2018 Status Prod., SP 07 CD, (ltd. 200)
Ritual Ambient. When the connection between the Earth and the Cosmos is established, the balance is restored, the merging of reality and subtle worlds occurs, the image of Tunnotauan appears, the symbol of duality, polarity, harmony of the universe... The ritual ethno-industrial noises and singing of Tibetan bowls, the tinkling of the bells and the clatter of the shaman's tambourine, merge into a single sound canvas, enveloping the whole, leaving in the depths of the subconscious and causing unknown hitherto images... Two-headed God Tunottauan came to Koloyar, the leader of project Hladna, during the deep immersion into the subtle worlds, his image was reconstituted from memory and used in the design of the album. Laswell, Bill feat. Coil & Tetsu Inoue -- "City of Light" -- CD -- €14
1997/2018 Infinite Fog Productions, IF-69
Bill Laswell, true music legend, “man with the golden ears“ 2013, he has been involved in hundreds of recordings with many collaborators from all over the world. Bassist, composer and music producer - enough to say that he was the producer for such legendary albums like Motörhead ‎“Orgasmatron”, Iggy Pop’s “Instinct”, Public Image Ltd “Album” or Swans “The Burning World” to name just a few... In 1997 Bill Laswell released his sixth solo album “City of Light” recorded in Banaras, India, and mixed in Greenpoint, NY. For this album he invites John Balance and Peter Christopherson from COIL, they did a 13-minutes epic composition “Kála”; and Japanese ambient genius Tetsu Inoue, who decorated the album with his characteristic sound. Together they created an amazing conceptual record full of deep drones, tabla-rhythms, and ambient collages... “City of Light” is about Banaras, a city older than history, tradition, and legends. It is Shiva's land, founded at the dawn of creation. It is India's oldest and most fabled city. The Hindus call it Kashi, the luminous... The City of Light... First time the album was released by the Belgian label Sub Rosa back in 1997, it was sold out many years ago. This is a digipak reissue with the new artwork and with booklet released by Infinite Fog Productions making this great album available again. [label info]

Mare Di Dirac -- "Fumes" -- CD -- €10
2016 Dusktone, dusk034cd
Ritual Ambient / Experimental. Fumes is the modern symbol of uncertainty principle. Our contemporary rite has been included into formulas, each formula is a method of composition and a sequence of chants [to rise fumes]. These are not simple sounds, this is a psychoactive experience that will surely bring you into the deepest parts of your consciousness. After debut album ”Tupilaq”, Mare di Dirac are able to achieve an even deeper album that works in the | thin | parts of our senses. This obscure tantric ritual sound has this time shifted a little further into the light, as ecstatic psychedelic components join with the familiar dark chants. The flow should not be stopped, it should be felt without judgment and mental qualms. [label info]

Mare Di Dirac -- "Tupilaq" -- CD -- €10
2014 Greytone, grey014
Ritual Ambient / Experimental. "Mare Di Dirac are an Italian collective who create lo-fi, morbid, and sometimes ritual based sound that mix together elements field recordings, natural reverb, human voices, subtle electronics, and selection of instrumental / percussion matter taking in: old church organ, didgeridoo, Tibetan bells, marine trumpet, rain drum & other elements. Their sound falls somewhere between crude ritual ambience, murky grim drone matter, and dark ‘n’ dank sound art." (Musique Machine Web Zine)... The ancient Greenlandic inuit's legends spoke about Tupilak (or Tupilaq) as an assembly of various objects frabricated by shamanism for ritualistic chants. This type of symbology brings to mind the fundamental concept of additive synthesis and union of various elements in the mixing process. The compositional phases are the result of a long ritualistic process where any sound's element are arranged to recreate the solid form of Tupilak... TUPILAK is based on unusual method of composition, using particular kinds of instruments like: Marine trumpet, Waterphone, Gong, Didgeridoo & other ritualistic instruments and mixing with digital sound of granular synthesis & minimal noise of various analog electronic elements. The recording techniques are made so as to generate a total immersion into the resonant body of instruments, to give to the listener a deep perception of sound waves. [label info]

Nihilistic music for nihilistic people. Nihiltronix is Arnaud B. (aka Nada Negator / I-C-K). "Homesongs is a cohesive collection of craft-based and subversive industrial sketches, a menacing cinematic orchestration which relates to our post-modern days at its stage of sociocultural chaos and global institutionalized crisis. If you are into the dark, brooding emotional territories of experimental sound-art by Sacher Pelz, Atrax Morgue, Sigillum S, Brighter Death Now, Megaptera but also the first Dernière Volonté, Regard Extrême, no doubt that this album will ravish your ears." Nordvargr / Drakh -- "Northern Dark Supremacy" -- CD -- €14
2001/2017 Infinite Fog Productions, IF-62, (ltd. 400)
So, finally, published 16 years ago on the US label L.S.D. Organization, the work of the fathers of MZ.412 cult and many other great projects is available again, this time on CD. Yes, if you remember, in 2001 it was a limited vinyl edition only... "Northern Dark Supremacy" was the first collaboration between Henrik Bjorkk and Jonas Aneheim in the framework of Nordvargr / Drakh, only 5 albums were released by this band, the last one in 2008. Thus, this reissue is the first activity of the duo for almost ten years, we can speak about conditional activity since the re-release contains also exclusive material... Since 20012, Infinite Fog Prod. has been conducting a project to publish this clot of darkness and the gloomy Swedish Lord Nordvargr was looking for master tapes that in addition to the published tracks should have still contained some material from the same sessions that simply did not fit into the vinyl. In 2016 everything was ready, 3 additional tracks were added and the duration of the album grew to impressive 55 minutes, becoming a full-fledged, exciting long-play. For the development of design was invited well-known dark music artist Horth (Goatpsalm, Karna, Sick Rites), whose style is the best suited to the visual display of the atmosphere of the album. And now in the autumn of 2017 we are ready to present you the final version of "Northern Dark Supremacy", an album recorded on the icy boundary between Black Metal, Dark Ambient, and Black Industrial. Mix Darkthrone "A Blaze In The Northern Sky", Lustmord "Heresy" and, let's say, SPK "Information Overload Unit" and you get an approximate idea and what awaits you... "Massive and ugly-gloomy landscapes of the true atmosphere of black metal from the founders of the already legendary Swedish industrial scene. The ghouls, groans, and voices of the united forces of death trapped in the underground cells of Bohult. Attention - this can be dangerous for your health! No jokes, no hopes..." [label info]

SantAAgostino -- "Mokaraba Constellation" -- CD -- €10
2013 Greytone, grey012
Dark Ambient / Experimental. Greytone is proud to present the second album from the enigmatic act santAAgostino. Definitively the best expression of their multifaceted way of visual-audio compositions. Seven tracks of pure melodic ambient noise will bring the listener into a cathartic mind introspection above the abyss. Mokaraba Constellation is an album of songs and just because those songs have been slapped with layer upon layer of filthy concrete and lead doesn't mean they were never songs at all. Fantastic, crucial tunes yet again from the mind of the Italy's most hard working dark ambient / noise alchemists. Without a doubt this is one of the finest experimental records we’ve had cross our label in years, and one nobody in their right mind should pass up. [label info]

Sol Invictus -- "Once Upon A Time" -- CD -- €13
2014 Auerbach Tonträger, AB 066
With "Once Upon A Time" Sol Invictus pass through the door already opened with the vinyl single "Mr Cruel" last year and step into an alternate universe of Dark Folk, 1970s Prog Rock and Psychedelia. On his by now 18th album with his main band Tony Wakeford, the cynical godfather of Neofolk, is not only accompanied by old cohorts such as Caroline Jago, Lesley Malone, Éilish McCracken and Renée Rosen, but also receives prominent support courtesy of Agalloch-members Don Anderson (lead guitar) and Jason Walton (mix) as well as Anton Shelupanov (guest vocals and blues harp). With the once more sharp-tongued lyrics and distinct Sol-Invictus-flair of "Once Upon A Time", Tony Wakeford skilfully manages to clearly hark back to the group's rich history. At the same time however, he incorporates new influences to add another dimension to his band's cosmos, even almost 30 years after its inception. Thus, Sol Invictus still have something to say even nowadays, both in music and content - and "Once Upon A Time" shows that in an impressive manner. [label info]

Sol Invictus -- "Necropolis" -- CD -- €13
2018 Auerbach Tonträger, AB 075
More than 30 years after their inception, English neofolk kings Sol Invictus release their long-awaited new album, "Necropolis", described by the group's dean Tony Wakeford as "a record based on and brought forth from London and the serpent Thames that snakes its way through its heart" and possibly the final release from a band revered as progenitors of a dark and desperate sound... A quasi-conceptual album centered on Wakeford's feelings of a declining London ["London was once the apex of an empire but it is now the playground of other empires that have superseded it."], "Necropolis" could be called a eulogy to England's capital. Sol Invictus titled the record after The London Necropolis Railway, a railway line that has connected London with the Brookwood Cemetary since 1854. But the moniker is also a nod to Wakeford's perception that the town is now "a London of mausoleums and masonry" and "a city haunted by the customs and crimes of the dead and the living..." "Necropolis" features guest guitar from Don Anderson (ex-Agalloch, Khorada) who previously lent his skills to Sol Invictus' 2014 release, "Once Upon A Time". The group around Wakeford continues to explore the psychedelic side of dark folk, using acoustic guitar as a foundation enriched with piano, flute, violin, electric guitar and drums among other instruments and – for the first time – the singing of The Green Army Choir. 2017 Ksenza Records, KSZ 023
Dark Ambient. Stuzha returns with the third full-length ‘Siberian Sketches Pt. II’ album. This is a logical continuation of the first part and the Winter theme dominates throughout the album. Field recordings, as usual with all Stuzha albums, are abundant and bring to a listener sounds of Siberian nature. The journey goes to cold winter forests, rural villages and even the Transsiberian railway. It is a return to original acoustic atmosphere, however the sound is even richer with layers of acoustic, electric and bass guitars. The album is released at Ksenza Records as a 4-panel CD Digipak. Sutekh Hexen -- "Luciform" -- CD -- €10
2011/2017 Ksenza Records, KSZ 021, (ltd. 500)
Post Black Metal / Noise. Luciform is defined as "of or pertaining to the qualities of light," which is a perfect description of Sutekh Hexen's shining demonstration of their mastery of the "black noise" style, but I can assure you there is no light here. The six disturbed hymns that comprise this twisted, churning, blackened mass lurch forward like a searing wind, slowly wearing away at everything in sight. This blistering album, while boasting some of Sutekh Hexen's "cleanest" and most recognizable guitar work, is still masked by Sutekh Hexen's signature, Xenakis-esque walls of horrific, incomprehensible noise. A maddening struggle through pure inorganic sound and disembodied shrieks, this is the perfect balance between black metal and noise that experimental musicians have been desperately seeking from the days of Exmortes and Abruptum. When this album destroys the walls that surround you, lay back and prepare to be obliterated yourself and become one with the noise... Remastered by James Plotkin. Packed in A5 digipak. [label info]

Veprisuicida -- "Radio Stigmata" -- CD -- €11
1995/2018 Industrial Recollections
Noise / Cut-Up / Sound Collage. Back in late 90's and early 00's, Freak Animal used to receive tapes from Russia. Now, decades later, via Russian contact person, I sent a word to Alexander Lebedev-Frontov asking whether Veprisuicida would be interested in some very needed re-issues. Great news was that there was no obstacles to launch decent sized re-issue project with some of the hardest to find Ultra tapes! First to come on is Veprisuicida's "Radio Stigmata". It was issued in edition of mere 15 tapes, and never before published even as CDR. Veprisuicida is the most primitive and noisy of Alexander Lebedev-Frontov works. His industrial projects are widely celebrated among underground, but Veprisuicida seems to be far less recognized. It's charm is in brutal and manually crafted primitive industrial waste. Eerie feeling of old Soviet avantgarde clashes with industrial-noise tape manipulations. It is nearly impossible to find as rugged, as crude and as rusty industrial noise in genre these days. Bleak and rotten sound, with broken mechanical feel, were saturated tape manipulations and disruptive pause edits add further charm. It's very far from bombastic effects and plastic sounding digital distortions and results of heavily layered on-screen editing. With its rawness, Veprisuicida may be *too much* for those looking more entertaining music. For lovers of fierce and difficult ripping industrial noise, we are proud to present these recordings finally as real CD, with original graphics. [label info]

Vintersolverv‎ -- "Frost Pa Traden" -- CD -- €12
2018 Infinite Fog Productions, IF-74, (ltd. 444)
VINTERSOLVERV is a new project of Vyacheslav from SVALBARD, ERDE. A different facet of creativity, in a new soundform. VINTERSOLVERV - a kind of Vyacheslav's homage to the music that influenced him at the very beginning of his musical career, one can say - inspired him to make a decision to start writing his own. Empyrium, Ulver, Vali, Nest, October Falls... We hope that the fans of these projects receive another one quiet acoustic album for the melancholic winter evenings. VINTERSOLVERV is translated as "Winter Solstice", and the title of the debut album of the project is translated as "Through the hoarfrost on the branches". The mastering of the album was handled by Martin Bowes of ATTRITION himself. [label info]

Brighter Death Now -- "Breaking Down Nihil" -- 2 LP -- €35
2011/2018 :retortae:, venenum 4, (ltd. 100)
The long overdue vinyl version of the recording from the legendary Brighter Death Now mini-tour took place in Russia in September 2009 initially released by Der Angriff / Indiestate as 2CD in 2011. This recording is very special since the lineup was made of Russian artists and only Roger himself was a part of the common European live incarnation of BDN from that time. The persons behind Anthesteria and LamiaVox have joined him in Moscow while the guys from Bardoseneticube and 414 were together with him on stage in St.Petersburg. The basic parts of the tracks have been sent to them all in advance, so they have prepared their own vision of this material, thus it was nothing like a spontaneous improvisation or jam-session, but pure conceived and well-organized collaboration. Both shows have been recorded on multi-channel devices, then carefully mixed and mastered, so the final quality is close to the studio one without losing any bit of the raw energy of live performance. The result is a very fresh and unexpected look on the well-known BDN compositions... The 2LP set comes in plain black cover with just only metal plate attached. Inside there are two black vinyls in black polylined generic inner sleeves and 12”x12” double sided black/white insert. The release is strictly limited to 100 copies. [label info]

Gerrard, Lisa & Cye Wood -- "The Trail Of Genghis Khan" -- LP -- €20
2010/2018 Infinite Fog Productions, IF-75-LP
With the greatest pleasure Infinite Fog Prod. presents the first vinyl edition of the highly acclaimed album "The Trail Of Genghis Khan" by Lisa Gerrard & Cye Wood! Wozzeck -- "Fact I" -- LP -- €16
2018 Intonema, int028 / Tawpot, т802т, (ltd. 250)
Experimental Rock / Improvisation. After a long break Wozzeck returns to Intonema with an album called Fact I that opens the next chapter in the group's history. Ilia Belorukov, Mikhail Ershov and Konstantin Samolovov celebrated a decade of the band last year and wrote a piece with the materials collected over several years, transformed them and placed them into a new context. This resulted in a 37-minute composition of math rock, noise, musique concrete and field recordings with a wide dynamic range and sounds throughout the entire frequency spectrum. The unusual package that's made with the help of adhesive tape is worth mentioning, which means that every copy is packed manually and is unique. [label info]

Reutoff feat. Deutsch Nepal -- "Eating the Dust" -- CS -- €9
2018 NEN Records, NEN104, (ltd. 72)
‘Eating the Dust’ is a collaborative album by the post-industrial legends Reutoff and Deutsch Nepal. The Moscow Region duo provided music, and Lina Baby Doll recorded vocals. It took many years to tighten the project up, and the output can be viewed as a tale of time lost. Why is it so? Because the message of the album reminds us a session of sugar-painful self-reflection, a sentimental collection of fucked up opportunities and a trippy meditation of skies unreachable. However, with all the melancholy (any life is a waste of time, what a blah-blah truth!), the album does not fall into a depressive spin. Rather its movement can be described as the trajectory of a drunken ship, whose team is battered, but has not lost its self-irony and the ability for a heroic gesture. The reward for this disorderly drift becomes the drifting: from an island to another, and onwards to the last shore of freedom, which, of course, will be uninhabited... Every tape comes in a cardboard case with ornamental cut-out, 'Reutoff muzzle' and 'Deutsch Nepal dog' patches. 72 hand-numbered copies. NEN Records version contains exclusive material that differs it form CD and vinyl incarnations of the album. Take care and enjoy! [label info]

Astrowind -- "Kaidanovsky" -- CD -- €10
2012 Greytone, Grey010
Astrowind’ Sound designer from Latvia Kriipis Tulo creates an amazing, deeply emotional and romantic music with help of vintage analog synthesizers and open-reel tape recorder. There is a feel of acroamatic escapism, there are these huge chords of hissing analogue synthesizers and you can even find this special kind of Slavonian melancholia (or Baltic, respectively) people use to rave about. Astrowind bring up a lot of references in their beautiful and, well, obsolete music. Astrowind Project got the harmonies and the sound to become one of the most interesting Baltic acts to emerge from a scene rich of innovative musicians (Muschraum, Joel Tammik, Selffish, to name just the most obvious)... This first Astrowind pro-CD album is a tribute to Aleksander Kaidanovsky, worldwide well known and seminal russian actor and film director. The album consists is eight tracks filled with mind-floating contructions and de-contructions that will bring the listener to a wider dimension. ”Kaidanovsky” sounds like an oppressive, yet captivating, music experience surfing from a lysergic and mutant electronic textures to a degraded samples and hypnotic voices of the universe. A really amazing and impressive album for one of the most talented artist coming from baltic area. [press-release]

Harvest Rain -- "Nightwave" -- CD -- €10
2015 OPN Records, OPNCD0029, (ltd. 300)
Brand new album from French Neofolk / Electro act Harvest Rain. "The Path, like untamed fruit, is rotten, withered, decayed and deceased. Like a bloated body left out in the open sun. The fruit ferments... There is nothing in this world more beautiful than the moment when a human soul has been shredded, crucified endlessly, tormented, driven insane, beat and spat upon, torn into a trillion pieces, and all of this alone with no one to share or to know of it and to then be made anew, to receive the Consolamentum and brought back together, whole, complete, absolute, Resurrected. Could there possibly be anything more beautiful? Yes. I am one of the few who survived that Path. By the Absolute Loyalty of Divine Love. "She" in the flesh. "Her" footsteps are real, now and forever. For that is Her breath with mine in the Muse-ic of this album. The Serpent swallowed it's Tail. The Final Test. The Final Turn of the Wheel. Hati -- "Zero Coma Zero / Recycled Magick Emissions" -- CD -- €5
The album was originally released on Nefryt on a CDR limited to 250 copies. Now it sees the light of the day again, with new cover, new master and additional tracks from "Recycled Magick Emissions" MCDR (released on Nefryt sister label-Malachit.) Despite the years, the material gathered here is still sparkling with untamed energy of acoustic sounds. The musicians built their own sonic constructions and used exotic instruments in an intriguing way. "Zero Coma Zero" is a study of dying, death and rebirth-the objects used on the recording were either archaic ethnic instruments or they were found in the junkyard. Both releases gathered here (plus the Drone 7" single) were groundbreaking in the history of HATI. "Zero Coma Zero" album established the project's position on the music scene. [press-release]

Majdanek Waltz -- "Nachtlied" -- CD -- €10
2014 Infinite Fog Productions, IF-43, (ltd. 270)
A new full-length album of one of the most notable projects in the Russian post-industrial scene. "Nachtleid" is the second part of a planned trilogy, first one was album "Tenebrae" 2011, joint release with Sal Solaris. Recorded "Nachtleid" attended by 13 musicians - piano, guitar, violin, viola, cello, clarinet, flute, trumpet, oboe. And well known band Reutoff play as guests on album. Those who have been following the work of Majdanek Waltz, usually notice evolution of their ark, complexity of the structure of the compositions, strength and mature of reflection, the depth of sound, all this quality increases from album to album and not an exaggeration to say that with "Nachtleid" group revealed deeper their potential. "Nachtleid" in a good way very cinematic album that draws more than hour-long picture, which we hope will please fans of the band, as well as us. Paul Bliumkin characteristic vocal accompaniment neoclassicism , neofolk, dark ambient, martial... to give a description of the project by means of music tags has long been a pointless, but corporate identity MW still remains easily recognizable. Luigi Seviroli is a professional composer working for several major TV networks in Italy, including RAI and Mediaset. Basing his musical work on the novels of the well-known italian writer Valerio Evangelisti and the character of the inquisitor Nicolas Eymerich, “Quaestio Prima” has been already defined by Evangelisti himself as the only opus able to incarnate the spirit of the novels, as well as of being a true soundtrack to the dark landscapes surrounding Eymerich... “Quaestio Prima” is a professional composed and recorded “soundscape”, a storytelling masterpiece ranging from darkambient interrogative pulsings to acoustic and traditional grand openings. Intense surroundings will draws the listener to realities banned by time or forgotten by men, yet real and invasive... Hard to be further labelled, this first album from Picatrix offers a complex yet straight musical texture with a particular attention to sounds, production and composition. Rapoon -- "Seeds In The Tide, Vol. 1" -- 2 CD -- €13
2012 Zoharum, ZOHAR 038-2
2012 sees the 20th anniversary of solo artistic work of an artist extraordinaire Robin Storey under the moniker Rapoon. Since 1992 and the release of his debut album "Dream Circle", Robin has been exploring the potential of post-indutrial ambience enhanced with ethnic sounds of African and Indian origin and using trial-and-error techniques inspired by contemporary experimentalists such as Karlheinz Stockhausen and krautrock giants such as Can and Faust to create elusive soundscapes too enchanting to ignore. With over 50 releases under his belt, he has become one of the most prolific household names in the world of experimental electronics. His works, sometimes harsh in nature, sometimes evocative or even gloomy, gained many devoted followers all over the world. Also in Poland, in Zoharum's headquarters. Together with Robin Storey, we prepared this first volume in the series of archive releases celebrating 20 years of Rapoon's existence. "Seeds in the Tide" will collect all the rare tracks released on compilations, small or limited formats. The first disc entitled "Keepsakes and Oddities" contains tracks recorded between 1993 and 1999. The second one is a reissue of the ultra-limited CDR version of the well-known "Messianicghosts" album which inclides the original version of the four tracks from that album that are significantly different from their later variants. The tracks were faithfully restored by Maciej Bartkowiak. The paintings on the cover is by Mr. Robin Storey himself and the design duties were handled by Zoharum in-house designer Maciej Mehring. Rapoon -- "To West And Blue" -- CD -- €10
2013 Zoharum, ZOHAR 054-2, (ltd. 500)
Not a reissue, not a compilation, but something complete new. "To West and Blue" is 50th Rapoon album and 5th Rapoon release on Zoharum label. And this one will become a staple in our CD players for long time. 7 long, slowly evolving tracks appealing to your subconscious side. An album that is definitely not to everyone's tastes. This one gradually grows on you until you are captivated by its haunting beauty. But there is an underlying uneasiness in it. A sort of clash between reality and a ghost world or a world that is long-gone. With choral voices hidden beneath layers of treated sounds, "To West and Blue" is a stand-out album among Rapoon numerous releases. Robin Storey talks about this album: "These pieces are about the area grew up in in the UK. A peninsula of land which stuck out into the Solway Firth. Surrounded by the sea when the tide was in and surrounded by endless mudflats when the tide was out. When the water covered the ground the line between the sea and the sky was almost non-existent. A diaphanous boundary. The sea came in from the West where the huge skies hung without end in a vault of blue..." The 7 tracks presented on "To West and Blue" were mastered by Maciej Bartkowiak. The cover is based on photos by Robin Storey and the design was handled by Maciej Mehring. The whole production process was overseen by Michal Porwet. The CD is housed in gatefold sleeve in the vein of Japanese-style vinyl replica and is strictly limited to 500 copies. [press-release]

Taphephobia -- "s/t" -- CD -- €10
2012 Greytone, grey011
Second album for norwegian maestro Ketil on greytone label. Bleak and secluded sound world, featuring six looming movements of darkly, post-industrial, isolationist ambience in the pure nordic shining coldness. The music Taphephobia makes is mostly based on manipulated guitars (except house of memories that is mostly based on sounds). Taphephobia try to get out the feelings he has at the moment when Ketil compose the music. The idea is to create a atmosphere that is sometimes scary, and sometimes beautiful, like for example a good thriller drama movie. Taphephobia is very skilled to create a cinematic atmosphere combined with personal feelings like fear, hope, hate, regrets etc… The main goal is to make the listener able to dream away with the music. Telefantastico -- "Death Poems" -- CD -- €10
2014 OPN Records, OPNCD0024, (ltd. 300)
"It's the world of ambient meeting down at the industrial lot and as such it sounds very much like something from 1990 - thereabouts. Lots of reverb here too, to generate that extra added atmospheric feel to the music. A most enjoyable release I thought, mostly because it sounded so retro like." [Vital Weekly] "This is a very interesting dark ambient/industrial ambient-type collection that is quite experimental but works well as a coherent whole. More minimal than a lot of dark stuff, usually one or two sounds are the focus, such as the bass synth and metallic sounds. There is some variety here which crosses over into beatier ambient with some chiming percussive sounds. Each title and piece does accurately reflect the state of mind it’s meant to express quite well, as in “Anger”, with it’s dissonant, angular sounds." [Make you own taste]

The project was inspired by the author’s personal fascination with the diversity of nature and the philosophy of Schopenhauer, who considered nature to be one of the most primaeval manifestations of a blind and aimless will, a will which we too are a part of. Trama afonA -- "s/t" -- CD -- €10
2010 Greytone, grey004
Trama afonA is the sound/visual project by Lorenzo Scacchia - an attempt to tramaphonise (convey) what he sees in the dark and hears into silence. This Cinematic Dark Ambient album constitutes the first official release, gathering tracks composed between 2005 and 2008. TA pays particular attention to individual and specific human stories, rather than to history... focusing on what happens behind the scenes, aside, beneath. Opening doors and drawers using the sole curiosity as tool, walking backwards the traces of memory, wandering amid shades and details given by mystery, decadence, abandon, romanticism. Carefully delving into psychological dynamics. Openly denouncing the social plagues, but often humbly providing just visual and sound suggestions. Digipak. [label info]
