Last month was quite active for the mailorder and we received a lot of interesting new music, both from Russia and abroad!
Worth mentioning are the beautiful cassette releases of a small St. Petersburg-based label Pearly Snowdrift and the releases of the Moscow-based D.I.Y. label Kill Ego. Aside from that, COD Noizes has reissued five classical albums of Six Dead Bulgarians, both on CDs and tapes, NEN Records published a couple of new cassettes in outstanding packages, the long-awaited collaboration album of Reutoff & Deutsch Nepal has finally arrived, and also we got a big selection of releases from the triumvirate of projects IAMNOTHING / MNL9 / Nigulesugci performing ambient / noise with Christian Orthodox background.
International scene is presented by the releases from such labels as Nefryt (Poland, electroacoustic), Liсhterklang (Germany, neofolk), Epidemie Records (Czech Republic, post-rock and post-metal), Phosgen Records (Germany, noise / PE), Motus (France, acousmatic) and Cold Spring (UK, industrial).

Starting his way in the black metal underground of the early 90s, and after founding one of the first Russian folk pagan band Sunchariot, the artist changed the reference point for drone and experimental music. Unlike the darker and denser paintings of the late Sunchariot, Adriva music is based on the experience of myths and drawing inspiration from archaic beliefs and the culture of the ancients. Finally and after almost seven years since “In Hoc Signo Vinces” was released, LICHTERKLANG is proud to announce the release of “Republic”, the new opus of the Irish Martial Industrial project AREA BOMBARDMENT. „Republic“ marks the 10th anniversary of the band and was almost lost and forgotten on the hard-disc for six years for various reasons if the label would not have listened to it on a regular basis. It then took almost two years to get back in touch with Michael P. who agreed to finally release “Republic”. The tracks have been re-worked and re-mastered with some additional bonus stuff included. “Republic” is a conceptual work on the Irish history and the brave men that fought for their independence from England, proving that history and the Martial Industrial genre has more to offer than the constant relation to Third Reich related topics. Musique Concrète. Cirque (1994): premiered on May 23, 1994, Futura, Socar (Crest, Drôme, France). Cirque (Circus) was not intentionally composed for dance, but was from the very beginning connected to the dancer and choreographer Bernardo Montet: in 1989, the RTVE (Spanish television) commissioned a video-dance from director Robert Cahen who asked Michèle Bokanowski to write the music; the result, Solo, was filmed in Paris in the Arènes de Lutèce, and was choreographed and danced by Bernardo Montet on the first musical sequences sketched on the theme of the circus. In October 1995, Bernardo Montet premiered a choreography for eight dancers on Cirque. Cirque was produced in the studios of Kira BM Films and of Les Musiques de la Boulangère, both in Paris (France). The concert premiere was on May 23, 1994 in the Socar factory in Crest (France) during the first Futura festival. The recordings used in this music were produced between March 1988 and October 1993. Post Black Metal. Dwarfstar is an ritual avantgarde transcendental musical project from Hungary. Dwarfstar’s first album was finally realized under the title of „Perplexing Reality”. The album contains 5 tracks in 61 minutes and come as limited edition of 300 hand numbered copies in jewel case. For fans of Ulver, Manes, Thy Catafalque... Dwarfstar has a strong spiritual background which is rooted in the ideas of Transcendental Voidism. Both the lyrics and the atmospheres concentrare on the Gnostic Knowledge, which helps to liberate the Transcendental Souls of human creatures from the prison of the material cosmos, from the claws of the transcendental paradoxon. Dwarfstar has nothing to do with those very popular empty-headed so called "satanic" views which are based mostly on goalless self-destruction, goalless hatred towards mankind, worshipping „darkness” etc. while in the background the so called followers are into partying, friendship, love and sex. NO!! Dwarfstar is a real manifestation of Rebellious Spirit and has two concrete goals: 1. God-Man realization (to reach the final Enlightenment) 2. To inspire the others (only the real Seekers) on their way of searching for the final Enlightenment. Of course the music of Dwarfstar is recommended for every open minded listener who like dark atmospheres in music and/or musical avantgardism, but this project can be completely appreciated only by the Real Spiritual Seekers (if there is any amongst the listeners of modern extreme music). Very important to mention that however Dwarfstar is deeply spiritual, but not religious at all. Dwarfstar concentrates on pure spiritual values, beyond the level of the religious rituals and religious force-glorification. Of course if somebody still needs some religious rituals which are useful for the given person on his/her own way of inner development, that is absolutely understood and not refused at all. But it does not mean, that Dwarfstar should ever support any kind of religious idiotism (the ways of holy blasphemy). When it comes to those forms of religious attitude which are based on zealotry, blind-belief, blind following and often malignant hypocrisy, Dwarfstar is definitely anti-religious. Dwarfstar also refuses the life-standards of the modern world and it's decadent societies. Also very important to mention, that Dwarfstar does not represent any political or nationalistic views. The stark cover reminds to early releases by Genocide Organ and the likes, the sounds develope into nine tracks of Power Industrial Noise but without vocals. Searing blasts of white static constantly revolve and churn on top of each other while the conventional low end crunch frequently rears it’s recognizable head, occasionally intercepted by squealing feedback passages. The Venomous Rig territory is a representation of the past, present and future: about where our civilization came from, where has it came to, and where it moves to (or, more precisely, does NOT move?), all performed as streams of consciousness. The fundamental influence on these flows, as an element of the present, is made by industrial aesthetics and man-made environment. They fascinate just like the first step of a child - the first real step of a young civilization in understanding and reclamation of the surrounding reality. They frighten at the same time - because it is the time to move on and set forth another leg for the next step, otherwise the child will fall by inertia, the civilization will destroy itself, leaving only a mutilated planet for the future. Believing that pure intuition is more strong and truthful than logical thinking, making the conceptual works, but being against constructing and writing compositions, here we have a one-time recording of the streams of consciousness without further layering and editing. Villes Radieuses' is collaborative effort by Ivan Napreenko & Konstantin Mezer (Sal Solaris) and Jim Mroz (Zero View), also known by project Lussuria. The release is dedicated to some architectural projects that are normally called utopian; and most of them, actually, offer to put aside the conventional view of the world, to tear off the land surface, to fly. However, today the notion “utopian” is often used to denote fancy ideas that have, seemingly, nothing to do with the reality: Le Corbusier’s ideal city, to which the album’s name refers to, was never constructed. This way, the notion goes beyond the field of modern thought and politics, which was not true for the authors of the projects at the moment of their creation. In truth, even today the projects tell us something about problems of the world around us... The musical interpretation of the utopian architecture presented by the album is of dual nature... On the one hand, the experimental electronics by Sal Solaris illustrates the projects of the 20th century. The major track, commemorating the Association of New Architects, markedly reproduces the creative pathos of the townplanning avant-garde from the 1920s. “Through the pole??” sounds like a fragment of negotiations with dwellers of the flying city (in the spirit of Viktor Kalmykov’s project “Saturny” (1930) – his remark on the draft was used for the title); their faraway mode of living turns out to be an enigma for us, the Earth-dwellers. The concluding track is an ironical commentary to the consequences of an (capitalist) airship of “production and consumption of events” landing in some, perhaps, communist town, where sets an atmosphere of some truly weird holiday... The dark ambient by Zero View points out the other side of utopian architecture: it reminds us of the fact that the word “utopian” is gravitating towards the synonyms of the word “impossible”. His soundscapes are like a spyglass which an observer uses the wrong lens forward. In this inverted perspective great hopes are equalized to the half-faded fantasies of the past; this view appears to be located somewhere beyond the time limits and any human endeavors will appear utopian from it...It's worth mention that both sides, Sal Solaris and Zero View, shared sound material then deliberately manipulated it to ensure maximum collaborative effect... Three-panel full color inlay. Tape in a regular box is inserted into a large black carton cradle. The constant martial rhythms and occasional orchestral effects ensure easy comparisons with NON's epochal live recording "In The Shadow of the Sword". Several tracks adopt a harsher outlook... A folk based approach incorporates gentle flute but the vocals remain rooted in a masculine and stern manner. Ostara's Richard Leviathan delivers esotericism over acoustic guitar and spirited trumpet score...
