Antikatechon -- "I Feel Nothing But Repulsion" -- CD -- €10
2016 Rage In Eden, RAGE 112
Working under the moniker of Antikatechon, Davide Del Col has published a number of classic dark ambient releases for Silentes and Rage In Eden. His musical universe voluntary invites the listeners to travel through deep and eerie soundscaping experiences which profoundly affect our emotions, generate powerful image and vivid metaphors about human finitude, psychic confinement and the otherworld. This new album entitled "I Feel Nothing but Repulsion" carries on Antikatechon’s aesthetics for isolationist soundscapes, bleak noises and darkly industrial musical excursions. Piano melodic phrases are brought up by the French neoclassic ambient project Day Before Us on one track, while the ethno-ritual and eclectic droning based project Nimh is featured on one epic piece of the album. This release is beautifully accompanied by enigmatic and ominous photographs of Bactrian Arts. With its melodious mystical resonances, disembodied guitar drones and nasty noisy incantations "I Feel Nothing but Repulsion" is an essential opus in the post industrial and doom ambient world. Rage In Eden is pleased to present this new album to the audience. [label info]

Day Before Us -- "Nihil Interit" -- CD -- €10
2016 Rage In Eden, RAGE 114
Neoclassic / Dark Ambient. Day Before Us is a French based project which originally blends textured electronics with a strong lyrical sensibility of somber beauty. The project was formed in 2011 by Philippe Blache. Titled Nihil Interit, this new release is the third published by Rage in Eden for this project who signed five full length albums on various labels (OPN Records, Twilight Records...). This effort immerses the listener in majestic neoclassical dronescapes and invocative poetical ambiences. Each track develops its own atmosphere, sometimes mysteriously cinematic and underpinned by wistful melodies. This album features Philippe Blache on electronics, instruments and Natalya Romashina on vocals, lyrics (partly in Russian). A selection of photographs by Anne Stockmann surrounds the music with a cold and introspective form of solemnity. [from the author]

Gitane Demone Quartet -- "Past The Sun" -- CD -- €10
2016 Dark Vinyl, DV72
There are a lot of known variables to the members of the GITANE DEMONE QUARTET. The precision punk chording of RIKK AGNEW (Adolescents / Christian Death / Social Distortion). The dexterous textured and sophisticated keyboard work of Paul Roessler (The Screamers / 45 Grave / Nina Hagen Band). The nimble and persuasive percussion electronics of DEB VENOM (Aunty Trust). And the fore, the voice like no other, the darkly compelling and poetic wailing of GITANE DEMONE (Christian Death / The Crystelles). Together they generate a unique sound seeming with vitality and rich in imagination thar far outstrips the sum of ist parts. Flirting with the most aggressive and surreal elements of each of their past projects, the GITANE DEMONE QUARTET stirs a violent cauldron that splashes out far beyond parameters of any genre expected of them. They haunt. They rock. They love. [label info]

Artistic and technical methods of such projects as Pustota / Lunar Abyss / Radiostalking / Boevye Cikady are mixed to the average state, these are the interlayers between these projects, something implicit yet recognizable. Project's title and concept postulate some sensual interdependence of sonic phenomena distinguished in noise, and this noise doesn't oppress, it is the moss and the fog, the background and the scenario at the same time. Small Things On Sundays -- "Fare Forward" -- CD -- €10
2017 Frozen Light, FZL 052, (ltd. 300)
”Fare Forward” is the 12th album by Danish experimental / dark ambient duo Small Things On Sundays. Since the first release in 2010, they have investigated different musical directions (freestyle turntablism, noise, broken instruments, etc.). “Fare Forward” is Small Things On Sundays in dark ambient mode, which is the genre they have investigated the most. The release date, 5. February, in the coldest of winter, is very appropiate, as the atmospheres on the cd suggests a voyage on a frosty and foggy sea. The feeling of repetition and monotomy dissolves the sense of time and direction, as soundfragments flows by: a toiling ship in the mercy of the waves crashing, the clinging metal and distant radio. The music is pure sound and atmospheres, blurring the line between reality and dream state. [label info]

Son Of Eris -- "Kallisti" -- CD -- €10
2010 Rage In Eden, RAGE 76
In 2005 a postman brought a parcel with Son of Eris CD to the War Office Propaganda. The music was interesting enough for us to make decision about publishing it (WOP 12). Nobody heard from Son of Eris for several years, they did not appeared on other releases or compilations; did not give any interviews; until now. The German group Son of Eris in their new record presents some dark aspects of Neofolk music. There are clean guitars interlaced with industrial components. Son of Eris "Kallisti" is over 60 minutes of music, published as a digipack which was designed by Lukasz Pawlak (requiemstudio.pl). [label info]

After working with Sven Mann on two LIYR's albums, Alexandra Nordrac started a dark ambient project TREFLE NOIR. Her first album "Villanelle du Diable" leads us into a dark and poetic universe. Inspired by French poetry from the 19th century, the texts lead us through the maze of death, near borders of the afterlife, witchcraft and madness, and all this on a dark and scary music, mixing of soundscapes, drones and percussions. Trepaneringsritualen -- "Deathward, To The Womb" -- CD -- €10
2012/2017 Cold Spring Records, CSR222CD
Trepaneringsritualen’s long out of print debut release: Deathward, To The Womb finally sees a proper reissue. An invocation not so much of BABALON Herself, but of the tormented elemental of Frater T.O.P.A.N., and his fervent attempts to usher in the Aeon of Horus. In the lyrics – based on the texts of Frater T.O.P.A.N. on the Babalon Working – the perilous flame that is BABLON is called upon to ravage creation. She is asked to scorch the earth clean for the coming cosmic renovation. The Eternal Virgin would spring from Her womb. From Her love, the new divine man would be born. 70 years after the Bablon Working was deemed successfully concluded, its utter failure is painfully apparent... "All love songs are of me" She says. This is certainly true of the first five songs of Deathward, To The Womb. The final songs, All Hail The Black Flame, seem different altogether. In this guise, BABALON brings not solely love, but cataclysm; a holocaust brought upon the domain of Man. Manifested as the Black Flame, She reaches from a time before time, formless chaos, and rips apart the very fabric of the created worlds. Such is Her nature: two opposing principles; that of the nurturing mother, and that of the callous destroyer... "She is flame of life, power of darkness – She destroys with a glance – She may take thy soul. She feeds upon the death of men..." Appended to the six original songs is a specially commissioned 12 minutes and 57 seconds long ritual work entitled "I Remember When I Was God", and attributed to Teeraal Räum Pheynix. BABALON was summoned at Winter Solstice 2015, with assistance from Alone In The Hollow Garden, A.I.L of Arktau Eos, Michael Idehall, KzR of Bölzer, Nÿland ii of Hadewych, and Aether. To destroy and to give life. We declare this ritual concluded and successful. [press-release]

The True Will -- "Triumph Of The Past" -- CD -- €10
2011 Rage In Eden, RAGE 77
I must admit I had difficulties with compiling a short piece of information that would let you familiarise with the music from ‘Triumph of the Past’ album. When a well-known band releases their second, third or following record things seem to be easier as the name of the band may partly suggest the listeners what kind of music they can find on the albums. In my circumstances, it is me and my written creativity that are fully responsible for written presentation of the content of ‘Triumph of the Past’. However, I am not very creative, so I will only drop a line. Martial Ambient. I definitely recommend you to listen to ‘Back to Rome’ track. The album cover was designed by Lukasz Pawlak (requiemstudio.pl) [label info]

2007 War Office Propaganda / Rage In Eden, WOP 43
Verbum is neo-classical and post-industrial project from Spain, based on apocalyptic ambient and ethnic passages, with spoken words in Spanish and Latin. Different instruments from the different parts of the world, piano, violin, orchestral pads, electronics sounds and strange percussions takes out to other dimension. The album consists nine Aevums that speaks about life, about you and me, about us. Each Aevum is a metaphor of one phase of knowlegde that we learn since birth until death. All the feelings of the human being presented in a specific way - like theatrical show. Darkness, sadness and poetry in 64 minutes of words and music. [label info]

Williams, Rozz & Gitane Demone -- "Dream Home Heartache" -- CD -- €10
1995/2013 Paragoric, PA 14, (ltd. 500)
Considered to be one of the founding forefathers of the Gothic Movement ROZZ WILLIAMS had in fact made a wide variety of stylistic musical moves throughout his impressive career until he died in 1998. Emerging from the wreckage of CHRISTIAN DEATH, he went on to form industrial pioneers PREMATURE EJACULATION and the more conventionally gothic SHADOW PROJECT. GITANE DEMONE joined Christian Death with Rozz Williams from 1983-1989 and went from that time her own way with different solo projects. DREAM HOME HEARTACHE is by far the most impressive work by Gitane Demone and Rozz Williams. Feeling that their past work - particularly with Christian Death - has bound them in gothic straight-jacket, GITANE and ROZZ felt the need to expand that time. The result was "Dream Home Heartache", a breathtaking album with melancholy ballads, piano and a very smooth & jazzy atmosphere. [Storming The Base]

Zos Kia / Coil -- "Transparent" -- CD -- €12
1984/2017 Cold Spring Records, CSR230CD
ZOS KIA was formed by John Gosling (MEKON), John Balance (COIL) and Min – with guest Peter ‘Sleazy’ Christopherson (THROBBING GRISTLE). Their one and only album, Transparent, was released August 23rd 1983 in a cassette only edition on the now defunct Nekrophile label, Austria. They were the first released recordings of both COIL and ZOS KIA. It was reissued years later by COIL (Threshold House / Eskaton) in an edited edition. The entire recordings are now released on CD/vinyl for the first time and are completely remastered from the unedited tapes. Includes two previously unreleased bonus tracks by AKE (pre-ZOS KIA). The music on Transparent is genuinely unsettling and disturbing, with a more primal Industrial feel than the Coil album which followed; ‘Scatology’. An essential insight into the very early work of these extraordinary artists and an undeniable link between Coil and Throbbing Gristle. CD edition presented in a 6-panel digipak with booklet containing unseen images. [press-release]

Haynes, Jim -- "Throttle & Calibration" -- CS -- €7
2016 Helen Scarsdale Agency, HMS040, (ltd. 150)
In 2015, Jim Haynes accepted a residency at MoKS in the village of Mooste, Estonia to collaborate and contribute to Simon Whetham's Active Crossover series. For this particular incarnation of Active Crossover, well over a dozen international artists were invited to this region of Estonia to collect field recordings and engage in a cross-pollination of ideas, strategies, and concepts that spawned from those recordings. The refuse from Soviet-era industrial farming complexes, the droned blur of aeolian harps, massive oil tanks, and the torrent of noise from the Arctic wind ripping through an empty water tower -- these were some of the sites that this chapter of Active Crossover archived, with each participant encouraged to trawl through the archives in use of composition, performance, installation, etc... Throttle and Calibration is the first in a series of albums that find Haynes digging through the Active Crossover archive and grotesquely exaggerating the details into exploded compositions of volatile dynamics, nerve-exposed dissonance, caustic shortwave signal abuse, and a considerable amount of scarred metal. Marked as one of the more discordant works to date in Haynes' career, Throttle and Calibration finds company near the atonal compositions from Hermann Nitsch and the sour, industrial collages that pock the Nurse With Wound catalogue. Previously released digitally on Crónica, Throttle & Calibration is fleshed out with an additional 20 minutes of material. [press-release]

Unconscious -- "Chaos Theory" -- MC -- €9
2017 NEN Records, NEN10, (ltd. 45)
NEN Records continues to map an ongoing convergence of (post) industrial and techno. This time at the focus of surveying is Unconscious, a Berlin project by producer and designer Andrea Riberti. 'Chaos Theory' is an exercise in gloomy and ascetic techno. Ouvertures to EBM common to other works by the author are minimized. Instead one can feel sudden connections to Ant-Zen & HANDS production in its groovy guise. Tracks by Riberti are deprived of decoration and neat as Roman stoa, and at the same time they are expressive like Cicero on amphetamines. A perfect soundtrack for psychogeographical dérive through urban geometry. [label info]

"Voices of the Dead" / video - Yuri Elik, sound - Gosha Solnzev, Yuri Elik -- DVD-R -- €10
2006 ZHELEZOBETON Film, ZF-II, (ltd. 250)
Photographer and videoartist Yuri Elik is primarily known as one of the founders and permanent members of multimedia project 2012, creating audio-video installations on various contemporary art festivals (SKIF, Heilige Feuer, Multivision, etc.). Apart from this Yuri performs on his own making video- and slide-shows for a number of experimental musical bands in St. Petersburg. Yuri is also the video show author for the performances of Simon Magus ballet written by D. Kakhovskiy and the designer of several CD artworks and websites. Gosha Solnzev (also known as "Van Gog" - 1g0g) - big industrial showman, leader of the project Noises of Russia well-known in Russia, organizer of several festivals, such as "Noise vs. Glamour", "Military Days", "Noisy Women", etc. Gosha has always claimed that he plays funeral music, so it's no wonder he showed interest in the phenomenon of voices of the dead, discovered by Friedrich Jürgenson in the late 50s of the past century. Electronic Voice Phenomenon (voices of the dead, Raudive voices) are the voices of anomalous origin appearing while making records on tape recorders or other electronic audio devices. EVP researches claim and have proof that this is a possible way of communication between physical and some other non-physical planes of existence. The exploration of this phenomenon led to an effective cooperation between Van Gog and Yuri which resulted in a series of live performances with the "Voices of the Dead" program and this short film, with 24 minutes an obscure psychedelic drama evolving in front of the spectator. A multi-layered collage of concrete visual images and kaleidoscopic colour fields constantly transforms, accompanied by unusual and uneasy sombre ambient with real voices of the dead samples interlaced in it's structure. As a bonus this disk also contains a 12-min. slide-film "City Spirits": alternation of photos by Yuri Elik with his own soundtrack constructed from city noises. Yuri skillfully focuses attention on subtleties of usual things that remain unseen to the eye of a usual human being, generally too busy with thinking over his insubstantial problems and forgetting about the beauty of the world surrounding him. The release is packed in a special cardboard sleeve and goes with a booklet with an encyclopaedic reference about the phenomenon of electronic voices.

2004 Lagunamuch Community, LMC200, (ltd. 500)
0id is Andrey Antonets solo project, created for the realization of the author's own ideas outside the Alexandroid project. Taking part in the Alexandroid project with Alex Matrosov and releasing albums all over the world, Andrey creats his own ambient soundsystem. There is no complexity in his world, no ambiguity or vagueness - there are only his own ideas and mood, embodied in music. Red Book was specially created for private listening - two in the room is too much to understand him. [press-release]
0ID -- "Systems of Mercy" -- CD -- €7
2006 Lagunamuch Community, LMC700, (ltd. 1000)
0id is one Andrey Antonets, who is a member of Alexandroid, but solo creates his own ambient music. I think it's played on analogue synthesizers, and it's not the tapestry sounds of Hypnos but more the stripped down version of ambient house music. Things move a little bit, there is arpeggio's on the piano, and even a bit of percussion. However the highlight of the cd is the fourth track, which started out with a voice going through a vocoder, later on forming a duet of voices and brings it close to space age popmusic. That is absolutely a great piece. Even with such a title for the cd things can't go wrong. [Frans de Waard, Vital Weekly]

After it's first limited CD release in 1995 this album became a much sought after item and finally the re-release of BAD SECTOR's classical first full time record sees the light of the day now. With AMPOS Massimo Magrini set a standard in deeply emotional dark ambient noise and many of his following releases went in that vein of evocative intensity and monolithic sound. In addition to the remastered eleven tracks of the original version this issue includes two bonustracks recorded with the same set-up from 1995 that closes the circle of this timeless masterpiece. Baker, Aidan & The Infant Cycle -- "Rural Sprawl" -- CD-R -- €7
2008 ZHELEZOBETON, ZHB-XVII, (ltd. 250)
Canadian musicians Aidan Baker and Jim DeJong (aka The Infant Cycle) have used the "gentleman's kit" of modern experimenters for creating the compositions of this disk: guitar, bass, tapes, samples, feedback generator, playouts and thumb piano. Four album tracks correspond with four seasons, four states of the soul... Summer - repetitive loops become overgrown with the juicy flesh of atonal sound and transform into sampled rhythms flown over by a soft guitar tune. Autumn - the rhythm is reduced to a hardly evident monotonous shroud, the atmosphere becomes more melodic and melancholic and in the end turns into a heart-piercing guitar solo. Winter - time for sleep and detachment: icy ringing, the slow breath of bass impulses, the rustling of electronics and sluggish drones painting vast snowy soundscapes. And finally spring - the drone ambient nature unfolds large as life, majestic sonic waves sweep accompanied by a swarm of tiny sounds awoken to life again... The first two tracks were recorded in 2001 (and released on CD-R by the Italian label Blade Records in 2002 in a very limited edition), two others were recorded in 2005 and thus completed the natural cycle of this album.

Barbarossa Umtrunk -- "Der Talisman des Rosenkreuzers" -- CD -- €9
2012 Ufa Muzak, UFA 49, (ltd. 400)
Military pop / Ethereal neoclassic. We present the fundamental work by the French musical formation completely dedicated to the mysterious personality of Baron Rudolf von Sebottendorf and his work "Der Talisman des Rosenkreuzers" published in 1925 in Germany. One of the founders of powerful secret organisation "Thule Society", a member of Turkish masonic lodge "Order of Rose Wreath", a numerologist, an occultist, a Sufi practicioner with misty entangled fate - he fits very well for a subject of detailed study, and one of the forms of it is this album. Musically, you'll hear one of the most powerful combinations of martial, neoclassic and ambient. From the very first seconds it goes deep in the significant years of the XX century, grandiose flashes - slices of troublous times, exotic geographic locations, dangerous people, occult-war intrigues and famous mystical German movement. Walls of heavy drones, explosive drumming and songs of dervishes, sublime samples of classics and dark rhythms encoded by electronics, a whisper from the other world, making heart beat high. During all the long and comprehensive material there is an intuitive investigation of entangled weltanschauung of "the baron", a combination of sufism, masonry and aryosophy. 13 tracks, 70 minutes, 6 panel cardboard sleeve. Barbarossa Umtrunk / Dronerune -- "Distant Shores of Hvetramannaland - A Tribute to Miguel Serrano" -- CD -- €9
2011 Ufa Muzak, UFA 41, (ltd. 500)
Military Pop / Dark Ambient / Drone doom. We present this long awaited split album of awesome quality. One of the best releases of UFA Muzak corporation, hard and important for understanding and inner interpretation. The long monumental material of this otherworldly dedication to the most significant figure of mystical aryan movement consists of equal parts - contributions made to the full extent and dignity by French military ambient and Argentinian guitar drone noise. This album is like an initiation, to pass it through, listen and submerge in it, one has to have a strong will and true belief in immortality of human soul. Through noise, slavery and pain of this world belonging to the Tsar who captured souls in senseless and eternal circle, appear exceedingly delicate gleams of light, coming through into the continual space, these flamy messages of runic forms, true symbols against death and entropy. They exist, come through the chosen ones and represent the last hope. The voice of gnostic prophet Miguel Serrano is heard in sparse spheres, his speech is eternal, once said, wherever he is now. From the stars, it's breezing real all-penetrating cold... 8 tracks, 78 minutes, A5 cardboard sleeve. [press-release]

Burial Hex -- "Throne" -- CD -- €10
2016 Cold Spring, CSR232CD
Finally a third volume of the essential reissue series featuring rare and out-of-print vinyl releases from Horror Electronics maestro Burial Hex. This collection takes us further back in time to a more raw and singular vision, whilst still infused with passionate vocals and eerie religious allusions that would eventually lead to a development of increasingly more compositional elements in the Burial Hex cycle. Collecting his sides from the split 7" with Sylvester Anfang on Aurora Borealis, the split 12" with Iron Fist of the Sun on Cold Spring, and taking a side each from “Bagirwa Hymn” on VON Archives and “From The Rites Of Lazarus” on Urashima, we experience the death industrial roots of this expansive project. Without as much focus on otherworldly hybrids, yet still organically eclectic, this offering will bring the grinding grey atmospherics and the nauseating aggression of early Horror Electronics into focus. Chalk, Andrew / Ralf Wehowsky / Eric Lanzillotta -- "Yang-Tul" -- CD -- €10
1998/2016 Cold Spring, CSR220CD
A legendary sound collaboration formed of two lengthy pieces. The first track features Andrew Chalk (Mirror, Ora, Ferial Confine) gently reworking the sound materials of Ralf Wehowsky (P16.D4). A hypnotic, slowly-evolving drone with waves of mysterious sounds, static and glitches. The second piece, on the other hand, finds Ralf Wehowsky composing a frenzied journey into otherworldly realms using sound material from Andrew Chalk and Eric Lanzillotta (Eye Music). These pieces reflect a sound unique from the work of any of the three individual participants, but clearly related. Subtle, but full of detail for the willing listener. Originally issued as limited coloured vinyl only on Lanzillotta’s label Anomalous Records in 1998. Cover painting by Andrew Chalk. Remastered for CD from the original master recordings. Digipak. Cisfinitum -- "Tactio" -- CD -- €10
2008 Mechanoise Labs, mn033, (ltd. 500)
With a parsimonious discography mostly released on seasoned Russian labels such as Waystyx, Ewers Tonkunst and Monochrome Vision, Evgeny Voronovsky has established himself as a uniquely engaging artist in the country's current ambient scene. Under the name of Cisfinitum, he has taken a syncretic approach to an often codified genre, uniting his formal training as a violinist at the Moscow State University with his affinity for concrete sounds and experimental structures. Past releases have shown a capacity to synthesize these factors at times while emphasizing the contrasts between them at others, sometimes over the course of a single track. In this aspect, this album follows the tradition faithfully... Tactio is the live recording of a Cisfinitum concert at the St. Petri Dom (St. Peter's Cathedral) in Bremen, on November 24, 2005. The particular (and as expected highly favorable) acoustics of this environment were consistently used not only as an enhancing effect but as an integral foundation for the performance, making it unmistakably tied to its context. Presented in the form of six continuous tracks, the album is a contemplative composition of vibrant drones, reverberating bells and synthesized resonance, gracefully evolving from the celestial tones of its start to the tellurian pulses of its climax. This is a piece of work that is elaborate in its simplicity, and it's with much appreciation that it is presented here today. The beautiful iconic artwork by Evgeny Kuprienko further emphasizes the relic-like qualities of this recording. [press-release]

Combative Alignment -- "…And Outside Glows The Red Dawn" -- CD -- €12
2005 Malignant Records, TumorCD24, (ltd. 100)
After several releases, including full length vinyl releases on LOKI and their own label Avatar, and a 7" on Eternal Soul, the first full length CD from this powerful and visionary German project on US label Malignant now. Can perhaps be seen as Combative Alignments benchmark, offering 6 tracks that work as a virtual musical thoroughfare to a more dreamlike, illusory state. Deeply brooding atmospheres, where omniscient layers of drones and reverberating sound currents meet measured, ritual percussion as performed under the glowing, gloomy haze of a primordial sunrise. And Outside Glows the Red Dawn shines a dim light on a world of obscure origin, full of dark Germanic mysticism and unearthly sonic terrain. On a whole, this is a more focused, deeper, and fluid recording than you've heard before, yet triumphantly carrying on the tradition laid down by previous releases. [press-release]

Ezhi i Petruccho -- "Skazki" -- CD -- €6
2007 Lagunamuch Community, LMC-1000
Russian spoken word / ambient. Ezhi and Petruccho? Who are they? First of all, these are names, just like "water", "stone", "law". The stories about them repeat the eternal genre of "tales by a fire". After two thousand of years we actually continue sitting by a fire, although we have learned how to get water from a tap and electricity from a socket. Basic names don't change. Sounds and names cause each other and again go into silence. We've just found the way into our "inner ArTek" and continue walking light not losing sight of each other... "And Ezhi was a shaman", - says Andrianov in a very wise hypnotic voice. And the music of Dergachev catches you and carries away into the timeless existence. Here, in a half empty room a cup of tea or mulled wine and a chequered plaid are waiting for you, and the stars are goggling in the window. After all, the real tales are told long after midnight. False Mirror -- "Derelict World" -- CD -- €10
2010 Malignant Records, TumorCD47
"In the beginning it looked like an ordinary storm..." After three years of intense work, Dark Ambient disciple False Mirror returns with his third full-length journey, aptly entitled "Derelict World". With the timeless drones of his debut "Chronostatic Scenes" and the icy soundscapes on his highly acclaimed sophomore masterpiece "North" still resonating through space, solo artist Tobias Hornberger delivers "Derelict World", his most massive and epic undertaking so far. As its two brooding predecessors, also his third work of masterfully crafted Ambient has become a monumental alliance of dark drones, frostbitten soundscapes and warm vibrating tones from the deep bowels of the earth. Famous for his skilled use of field recordings from an extremely diversified range (some of the recordings stem from an old monastery, the medieval city of Ulm or the Arabian sea) and for his ability to cloak the superior forces of nature into menacing, yet beautifully devised sounds, "Derelict World" also offers a truly apocalyptic concept that blends perfectly with the dense wall of sound on this mysterious Ambient challenge: Nothing less than the end of humanity, brought upon this world by the relentless forces of nature forms the basis on which the resonating and thundering tracks develop into chimaeras of terrible momentum, ever-changing and ever-increasing their dramatic potential. Devised with sophisticated software he solely created for composing this album, False Mirror easily evokes elemental feelings like sublimity, fear or trepidation - culminating in an impending sense of doom that never leaves the listener and brings to life the destructive side of nature that surrounds us every day. From the sheer force of a tornado set loose to the beguiling calm within the eye of the storm, "Derelict World" is a 74 minute long sonic journey into a desolated, depopulated world. A 20 page booklet with a conceptually linked short story written by author and journalist Bjorn Springorum accompanies the release. The album is moreover equipped with a number of hidden messages that lead to a rewarding "Bonus World" on falsemirror.de. "...and the rest was silence." "...One of the best dark ambient releases in recent years". 9.5/10 Orkus Magazine. "The False Mirror album is one of the best CDs I've ever listened to!" M. Sturtzer, Phelios. [press-release]

Flatline Skyline -- "All Sound / No Vision" -- CD -- €10
2009 Mechanoise Labs, mn 034, (ltd. 500)
The second album from Jacen Kemp and Robert Andrew Scott stands as a stylistic counter-statement to 2005's "Horizon Grid." Fierce, emotionally driven and abrasively textured, "All Sound / No Vision" confirms Flatline Skyline's masterful sense of tension and release and melodic sensibility while further evolving their sound beyond any previous expectation... Where "Horizon Grid" forged atmospheres of lethargic bliss and nocturnal stillness, these eleven new tracks are united by their restlessness and unstable nature. From the energetic vocals and metallic shard-like pulse of "Fox Fight" to the improvised noisy electronic shudders of "One Secret," there is a new-found sense of visceral life that breathes, screams and seeps into every moment of this album. Jacen Kemp's voice plays a prominent role in this aspect; its multi-faceted intonations are perfectly suited to the shifting electronic foundation. [press-release]

Flatline Skyline -- "Horizon Grid" -- CD -- €10
2005 Mechanoise Labs, [mn026], (ltd. 400)
Absolutely non-typical release for this French underground noise-oriented label. The thing is that in fact represented music should be described as "electro-pop". But! This is very unusual electro-pop because it somehow harmoniously combines best features of IDM, abstract electronic noise and psychedelic trip-hop. And while listening to this CD you just don't know what to expect next minute: will it be synth passages in vein of Depeche Mode, or digital clicks typical for contemporary computer-based music, or heartfelt melancholic vocal. In general this is beautiful non-extremal electronic music almost approached mainstream level which can't be called disadvantage in this case.

I/DEX -- "Layers" -- CD -- €7
2009 Lagunamuch Community, LMC1001
I/DEX (Vitaly Harmash) is a musician and an audio-designer from an industrial city of Novopolotsk, Belarus. From the mid 90s Vitaly was experimenting making his own music, using analogue synthesizers, radio, guitars, field recordings, various devices and computers. The life in a city with a huge industrial estate has influenced the art of Vitaly. I/DEX music hypnoses and fascinates listeners by its warm structures. His music is a subtle intellectual electronics filled with sunny melodies and micro-glitches, which dissolve in pure ambient landscapes of nature - in forests, fields and lakes. In 2003 the debut album of I/DEX - Seqsextend was released on an experimental label Nexsound and received numerous positive reviews from web-zines all over the world. Since then I/DEX has worked with such people as Pole (~scape rec.), H.H.T.P., Kriipis Tulo, Guy Van Belle and took part in several European festivals of electronic music. Hand by hand with his concerts, Vitaly continued recording his art experiments and recorded a very deep and a serious album Layers. Layers is an outstanding collection of inner feelings, transmitted by an audio-artist with its music. Each element here is a multi-layered synthesis of intellectual art - micro-electronic, idm and deep ambient. Each of 9 tracks is an insight into a world of surrealism and fantasy with their mysterious flora and fauna. When listening to this album-exposition, you will see your own images and landscapes. This is how your own world will be mirrored in this music. [press-release]

In A Nutshell -- "Ultraviolet Test" -- CD -- €6
2005 Lagunamuch Community, LMC400 / KillKenny Rec., kk-001
In a Nutshell plays a melodious post-punk turning to eccentric grunge or unobtrusive ambient. All the members of the band are from Russia. The music of In a Nutshell is full of reflection, slump and November rain. In spite of the sensibility and the co-ordination of the musical stuff they're always looking for new sound and technics. The music has become more rhythmic, but it's still romantic and delicate all the same. Probably in their work musicians affirm the famous Hamlets phrase "O God, I could be bounded in a nutshell, and count myself a king of infinite space". [label info]

"Amygdala Colours - Hemisphere Rotation" is the second album on Reverse Alignment and follows the critically acclaimed "Case 1959 - Dyatlov". But where previous album explored the external mysteries of Dyatlov 1959 Jarl take us unto an internal trip through the structures and events of the cognitive mind with a main focus on the Amygdala, where the processing of memory, decision-making, and emotional reactions occur. This album is built with layers of sound which slowely gets audible and disappears psychedelically. A variation of electronic and acoustic treatments has been used and the whole album is a mastodon track passing 50 minutes. As usual, the listener gets a mixture of drone, ambient and industrial that are molded perfectly into "that" typical Jarl-ish sound that sure wont dissapoint. Accompanied with the musical expression comes astonishing work from Karolina Urbaniak who designed the cover. It is as if you could touch the music. [label info]

KK Null / John Wiese -- "Mondo Paradoxa" -- CD -- €16
2009 Auf Abwegen, aatp26, (ltd. 500)
Constructed over the period of two years via mail collaboration this is a great and forceful collaboration between two artists that each have made a name for themselves with their unique approach to making sound. KKNULL is a master of feedback studies, working with looped scenarios to create dense and vital sound units. KKNULL has a long history as an experimental musician and is also the leading force behind proto-metal-group Zeni Geva and the dark-industrial project Absolut Null Punkt... John Wiese has recently collaborated with such acts as Wolf Eyes and Sunn O))) and is also a graphic designer in high demand. Usually he creates fragile but very erruptive lo-fi noise rumblings with an almost poetic touch. He has a musical past in the group Bastard Noise... Needless to say, both artists combine the best of both worlds in this crunching release! Comes in beautiful full cover digipak, designed by Government Alpha, typesetting by John Wiese. Lethal Dose 50 -- "21st Century Awakening" -- CD -- €18
2006 Nuit Et Brouillard, NB CD 05
LETHAL DOSE 50 is the poison dose injected into the veins of persons sentenced to the death penalty in some states of the United States.… but LD50 is also a Belgian trio which has been existing for years in the fields of electronic musics. After a self-released first tape and a first CD-R, we are proud to offer you the first fullength CD by this talented unit. Using some digital instruments - synths, samplers- as well as some analogue ones -synths, rhythm'n box, effects-… LD50 develops an atmospheric music which is at the same time dark but warm, cosmic and experimental, melodic and deep, meditative but aware, often underlaid by some sampled voices and sound-collages, sometimes intermingled with/ intersected with some hypnotic rhythms. Being fully mastered and definitely original compared to some nowadays releases from the dark-ambient genre, "21st century awakening" will both appeal to the nostalgics of the 70ies and 80ies sonorities -old-school space-electronics from the 70ies and 80ies such as TANGERINE DREAM, NOCTURNAL EMISSIONS-.as well as to the lovers of some nowadays dark ambient acts such as SCHLOSS TEGAL, INADE, HERBST 9 or FIRST LAW… LD 50 is certainly the sole musical project able to set a bridge between these two tendencies, these two sounds, these two periods… Fans of sterilized lap-top generated or of cheap new-age ethno-ambient can go their way. "21st century awakening" will appeal as much to the soul as to the body, to the mind as to the heart. At first listening, this record may seem a little bit strange to you, like being out of phases, but the following listenings will draw you into an endless spiral similar to the one painted on the sleeve. Allow yourself enough of freedom for that... CD re-mastered by Christian RENOU, housed in an original A5 size silk-screened fold-out cover. Paintings by Leyla ERSEN. 64 minutes/10 tracks. Alexander Petrunin aka Mewark works as a sound designer & jingle writer for MTV-Russia. Together with Lazyfish he released a split-album Lazyfish/Mewark. Little One is an album which shows Alexanders talents to combine live recorded instruments with the unnatural but interesting world of Reaktor sounds. The results range from sweet and melodic songs to deep and dark soundscapes. All 12 tracks on Mewark's amazing debut album tell individual chapters of one story. Its a fairy tale about the Little One and it's just 12 chapters long. They include the beginning and the end. [label info]

O Paradis -- "Llega El Amor, Asoma La Muerte" -- CD -- €10
2015 Dark Vinyl, DV66
Ô Paradis is the work of Demian Recio. Since fifteen years Demian is now creating a melancholic Mediterranean feeling in his music, free from all general trends and hypes. On this trip he met several artists (like Novy Svet, Val Denham or Thomas Nöla among others) and the result was a common cooperation and inspiration. If we understand the work of Ô Paradis as a long search for Demian`s own aim, we could say that his new creature "Llega el Amor, Asoma la Muerte", can be seen as his "Ithaca" or personal masterpiece. There are fresh new inspirations / directions in this album, but we recognize also a homecoming to his old love for Latin music and the melancholy of English folk music, but all under the gaze / banner of the death. Ladies and gentlemen, you are invited to participate: "La Muerte" (The Death) is coming with a smile on his face. [label info]

2007 A Silent Place, ASP21
"Find Electronica" is a wonderful album full of fine lyrics, structured as a long drone / ambient suite divided in two portions which are the frames of the articulated central track. A strictly personal exercise on the "Weird Folk" theme, hypnotic and seductive. The "found" electronica meets the sonorities made by the six chords, projecting enchanted landscapes on a vibrant horizon, with an intimate sensibility. Abstract and emotional, deep and dreamy. 2003 Coup d'Etat Communications, coup d'etat 001, (ltd. 500)
First proper CD release for this new incarnation of Sedaye Marg, courtesy of Coup d'Etat Communications. While a departure from the all-out assault of past releases (which is to a certain degree responsible for the new spelling in its name), it retains the processed and distorted percussion and strident electronics while incorporating more elements from its key subject of modern Iranian history. A soundtrack to military coups, rapid modernization, misguided faith, betrayals and ultimately rebirth. [label info]

Selffish -- "Blue Planet Chill" -- CD -- €6
2002/2004 Peace Technologies, PT 001
Andrew Eigus was born in Riga in 1973. Selffish materialised in 2002. The name Selffish denotes a paradigm shift in Andrew's life. The music Selffish produced was slower and more refined than Eigus's earlier works. The major contribution to his production comes from the samples he obtains from field recordings across the baltic landscapes, laced with human voice, his playing the retro grand piano and other acoustic instruments, and of course from the people around him. Sleep Research Facility -- "Stealth" -- 2 CD -- €13
2012 Cold Spring, CSR159CD, (ltd. 1000)
Sublime new album from the drone / dark ambient legend. As a project commissioned for Cold Spring, "Stealth" presents itself as an exploration of sounds neither here nor there, textures camouflaged against their own background noise, and the distant crackling telemetric code-speak of a vague humanity hidden behind a cloak of deadly high-technology. Comprising of five deeply-layered extended tracks, mixed and edited from re-sampled location recordings originally captured inside the hanger environs of a Northrop-Grumman B-2 Stealth Bomber, during a period of downtime maintenance at a U.S. Air Force base in Cambridgeshire, England. Original field recordings and texture preparations by FOURM/Si_Comm. First edition pressing of 1000 copies includes bonus disc comprised of this *pre-mix* material in its original, un-edited form, as a representation of the source audio from which "Stealth" was reconstituted. Deep listening inspired by one of the most mysterious aircraft of the twentieth-century. Headphones recommended. [press-release]

T.A.C. -- "Twilight Rituals" -- CD -- €9
2003 Small Voices, SVR03003
This is the brand new album from T.A.C.!!! "T.R." was recorded in the same sessions of "Waiting for the Twilight" and include 14 new exclusive tracks..., a sort of "Waiting..." twin album. "Twilight Rituals" is the complementary twin album to "Waiting For The Twilight", created during the very same recording sessions. T.A.C. keep on in pursuing their aural alchemy of psycho-ambient soundscapes, and hypnotic songs achieving atmospheres not so distant from "WFTT". This time sounds are more determinate and static but once again not easy to be classified and still carrying the listener in a surreal world without any fixed reference-point. "Twilight Rituals" also is the matrix of "WFTT" but, according to T.A.C. wicked logic, being conceived before it had to be released after. This is the definitive sound-trip from the future past. Troum -- "Acouasme" -- CD -- €10
2015 Cold Spring, CSR213CD
After the much praised collaboration with RAISON D’ETRE released summer 2015 (“De Aeris In Sublunaria Influxu”) and the final volume of the ‘Power Romantic’ trilogy with “Mare Morphosis” in late 2013, “Acouasme” is the first full length album from TROUM in over 2 years. With this album, TROUM wanted to go in a completely different direction, creating a ‘harsher’ and more ‘Industrial’ sounding album as a contrast to previous releases. But through the trademark troumatic machining, the final result doesn’t sound at all like standard harsh noise – it’s rather industrial noise as if filtered through a feverish dream, through a deranged perception. The six long tracks of pestering transrational drones on “Acouasme” sound like an aural psychiatric symptom, a humming hallucination leaving the stable reality. [press-release]

True Colour Of Blood -- "Awakened To Never Sleep Again" -- CD-R -- €7

Raw and uneasy guitar drone ambient from States. "Guitar does not seem to be the perfect tool to create ambient sounds. But Eric Kesner proves it can work just perfect. Ultrapolyarnoe Vtorzhenie -- "Steel Formation (Stalnoe Stanovlenie)" -- CD-R -- €10
2008 UFA Muzak, UFA24, (ltd. 88)
Nordic Industrial/Combative Noise. There will be a day when some books will be burnt, and other rewritten. It will be a different language, of different people, not understandable for us, something completely non-verbal, related to the highest form of communication. When this language will sound, the mind will be silent, but the sense will come right into the heart. Noise is also a language, a different text, possible prototype or an echo, an attempt to transfer the knowledge to another level, to understand Thule. In ideological and musical ways the release of the new project from Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, continues the line started by the first act - UFA01 ANTARKTIDA - the concentration of the Northern emanation: rough noisewaves, cryptographic industrial, technocratic power ambien. Morose voice of Kaleuche. 7 tracks, 64 minutes, CD-r, print on transparent paper, jewel DVD box. [label info]

It contains both old compositions, previously released on compilations and albums in their original variants or in those versions waiting for their hour in projects' archives, and also completely new material. 14 mantric hymns directed to the nameless and speechless Gods dwelling out of limits of atomic lattices, 14 steps to the pedestal with a cup full of burning wild foreign flames lit by ancient Titans from the rays of the Black Sun. Unit 21 -- "November" -- CD -- €6
2007 Peace Technologies, PT 006
Unit 21 is the project of Stanislav Vdovin. He started in 2003 with techno-house remixes and later released several non-dance solo albums on independent net labels. In May 2006 Stanislav has added to his collection another mini-album "September-October", with 4 tracks, released on Thinner net label. November is the first solo work of Unit 21, released on a hard copy. This is an extension of "September-October", in a more winter and twilight version. This is the album about seclusion and remembrance. The nature of all tracks is thoughtful and contemplative. Ur -- "Four Calls for Locusts" -- CD-R -- €5
2008 Mask Of The Slave, MS-022, (ltd. 60)
Ur were born in early 2005 as a collaboration between Federico Esposito and Mauro Sciaccaluga, both active in the italian hardcore circuit. Their music is mostly based on free improvisation and its sonorities can't easily be described without referring to the well-known and wildest experiments of Industrial music of the late '70s / early '80s. There is a strong dramatic feeling in their powerful sound, where everything seems to reproduce a sort of wedding between the modernity of the media and the primordial instincts of the performers. CD-R in normal slim-jewel case limited to 60 copies. [label info]

A second part of "black | mass" trilogy by Darrin Verhagen (Shinjuku Thief, E.P.A.). If "Black Ice" delivered the 'searing pain upon arrival' to the black|mass trilogy, "Black Frost" serves as something of a gently uncomfortable antidote. Bordered by lowercase, delicate electroacoustic, sinecore and glitch terrain, "Frost" presents material considered, precise yet modest in tone. [label info]

Sonic flow in mine worker's mind suffernig from long sleep deprivation and claustrophobia in heavy conditions of work below ground.
V/A -- "Deep Sea Shipping" -- CD -- €6
2006 Lagunamuch Community, LMC800
Deep Sea Shipping is the first compilation on Lagunamuch, an electronic label in Moscow. This compilation has united many russian-speaking artists living in Russia and abroad. Deep Sea Shipping is a term borrowed from the maritime logistics and navigation. It perfectly reflects the whole internal component of music on this compilation. The concept of Deep Sea Shipping is rooted way back in the mythical worlds of H.P.Lovecraft, as well as in the realm of sci-fi stories. Moreover, the word 'deep' is of key importance here, because initially all the tracks on Deep Sea Shipping were stylistically aligned with each other and interconnected by such concepts as deep-tech, deep-ambient and deep electronic. Depth and diving is part of each composition, no matter how the genres may vary. Musicians: Selffish, Lazyfish, Abstract Avenue, Unit21, Oloolo, Sever, Riverz End, Holden, Unbound Persistence, Batiskaf, Total Reboot, Kriipis Tulo, Father?, 0id. [press-release]

V/A -- "John Barleycorn Reborn" -- 2 CD -- €13
2007 Cold Spring Records, CSR84CD
Traditional Folk, Dark Folk, Neofolk, Ballads. A discovery of folk music from dark Britannica. 'John Barleycorn Reborn' explores seasonal birth, death and rebirth on this double CD. Our cycle begins at Lammas 2007 (1st August), a day traditionally known for 'the first fruits of the harvest'. This compilation explores the darker side of British folk music, evoking the mystery of our ancient past and peoples, the strangeness of their beliefs, arcane traditions and the remnants of this carried down the centuries as folklore. The set has an extended booklet with articles, essays and explorations of the album's concept. All orders can also receive a free complementary thirty-three track download only set of further music. V/A -- "Main Control Board" -- CD -- €7
2010 Lagunamuch Community, LMC1002
Alexander Matrosov, a part of Alexandroid, Gods Delusion, Flexkiks, Autopilots, Speyer projects came up with an idea to make such a compilation. He was going to make the second sound trip, a kind of sequel to the Deep Sea Shipping compilation. The sound was more of an industrial and radical type. This time the theme of the compilation is not a sea, but the black space with its microgravity, adventures and unpredictability. We decided to use new approaches, new technologies and invite musicians that we know. We were not rushing with this release, making the things more difficult for ourselves and testing the compilation by time. Once it is ready we are really happy with the final result... Main Control Board compilation is not mixed. All tracks are specially chosen to complete each other. Listening to the cd it feels like one album is playing. What is it, Main Control Board?.. We dig Main Control Board is a control board of our galactic, matrix or program, whatever you call the reality. You can draw parallels between what is happening on our planet and on the cd. There are no coincidences... It took us two years to finish this monolithic release. The result was worth the effort. Unfortunately during these two years many unexpected things have happened. One year ago, an excellent musician and creator of this project, Alexander Matrosov passed away. One year later we are dedicating this compilation to him. It is exactly the way he wanted to see and hear it. [press-release] Participants: Indu Mezu vs Flagra, Speyer, Riverz End, Abstract Avenue, Autopilots, Nightech, L.F., Abstract Avenue, Egofriend, Alexandroid.

V/A -- "Zvukolan: atmosphere, landscapes, strategy" -- CD-R -- €7
2005 Strely Peruna prod., SP 015, (ltd. 222)
Strely Peruna prod. present the anniversary compilation with projects that supported label in it's 10 year activity with their creative work. The idea of label is spreading the pagan weltanschauung, leaving behind the standards in art perception and liberation from the dogmas of surrounding reality. Geographically this compilation covered North, Centre, Ural and South of Russia which allows to see both common and distinct features in creative landscapes of our Earth. The participants are: Unknown, Hum, Sunchariot, Kromeshna, Lunar Abyss Deus Organum, YAO 91404 D. UNKNOWN (Moscow) is a project of Dmitry Shilov who started his activity in 1996. He released several works on Strely Peruna prod. and claimed himself as an adherent of veda wisdom and search of light in the darkness of the present. Dmitry creates profound and meditative ambient landscapes in which he combines his outlook and great cycles of Nature. Dmitry also took part in a project called Medve Na Veche - the debut release of our label. HUM (Fryazino, Moscow region) - one of the oldest Russian projects working with analogue technology of tape loops. His compositions are very deep and sensitive. The atmosphere of Hum can be compared with a walk in autumnal forest. Dmitry Chistov (Hum) took part in a project Off The Cuff released by Strely Peruna. SUNCHARIOT (Rostov-on-Don) originates from the pagan-metal band gradually reduced to one-man project - Denis Shapovalov. Zoroastrian cult and religions of the Sun are the main inspiration sources for Denis. Minimalistic dark ambient sound of Sunchariot - magic rituals of Sun and Blood. KROMESHNA (Kamensk-Uralsky, Ekaterinburg region) is a young project of Vitaly Maklakov from creative union "Ostroga". Enigmatic ladscapes of Ural, laborious work of Nature, mountain ranges settling down into twilight - all this (and something more that is hard to describe) found it's reflection in music of Kromeshna. LUNAR ABYSS DEUS ORGANUM (St. Petersburg) focuses attention on karelian-finnish shamanism and nothern folklore through the prism of ambient culture and industrial constructivism. The leader of LADO - Evgeny Savenko - also had a project called Koivunmahla released by Strely Peruna prod. YAO 91404 D (St. Petersburg) is a young but promising project absorbing the aesthetics of revolution, labour cult and heroic spirit of industrialisation. Danil Dashkevich (YAO 91404 D) successfully cobines hard psychedelic atmosphere with industrial noises and pagan music primitivism. This symbiosis creates really unusual and emotional ritual/industrial mystery. All projects presented only exclusive tracks for this compilation. The release comes in non-standard handmade sleeve with 6 photos. [label info]
