Exit In Grey
CD (ltd. 300) |
Radiowaves rustle, layers of ether interference whisper and an electric guitar carefully draws gentle tonal vibrations… The new album by Exit In Grey is indeed largely based on sounds of radio noises, so close to our heart. Although of course this is not a noisy work but rather oneiric, contemplative, shimmering… In two multilayered 20-min long collages we can hear the elements of nature and man-made objects, fragments of random radio interceptions and melancholic guitar parts piercing dark space with its bright emotionality.
The material was recorded by Sergey [S] in March 2011 and mastered by Oleg Hurvatov (Interior Disposition) in 2016. The disc is released in cooperation with the Frozen Light label in an edition of 300 numbered copies in a standard jewel-case with an 8-page booklet. Digital version is available at bandcamp.

Ajna -- "Inevitable Mortality" -- CD-R -- €10
2016 Reverse Alignment, RA-23, (ltd. 50)
Dark Ambient. Chris F is a sound artist and composer from New York. His project Ajna was created in 2008 with the purpose to capture the presence of the subconscious mind, the surrealism of nature and the beauty of isolationism. Renowned acts such as Thomas Köner, Lustmord, Steve Roach, Beyond Sensory Experience and Troum are some of the main influences that has set the path to inspire Chris to build his own musical structures. Ajnas debut Inevitable Mortality on Reverse Alignment portrays lifes lonesome struggle towards the end, a strife for existence that are destined to cease but still have meaning for the individual (or at least should have). Expect walls of desolation... "To live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering" (Nietzsche). [label info]

"Remember the wisdom out of the old days, they know undying things and nothing troubles the great streams and gleams from the holy orchards, where there is none but fruit that is of precious stone, or apples of the sun and moon. They know undying things, for this I have sailed the seas... WE ARE ONE. ENA (one = unity in Greek) is our musical contribution to overcome duality, conflicts and separation trying to go towards a resonant, open-hearted attitude. What we seed in our life, in others’ lives, on the earth is what we receive. We are One, separation causes blindness and destruction. WE ARE ONE, WE ALL ARE CONNECTED. Vibration is the very first act of creation, Music has the duty and the right to work on connection being such a suitable and direct channel to express harmony. If our life is meant to be a spiritual growing and not just a materialistic experience, all the domains where spirituality is expressed can become a source of enlightenment. Here is our naked soul alone in “her” voyage. To us, Music is diffusing a spiritual knowledge that’s not linked to a dominating specific religion but to the harmony of the cosmic forces. The aim is to reach again the primeval plenitude, calmness and inner light, being a part of the whole. The magic word resounds before being pronounced. Knowledge and Experience happen at the same time and all of this is a sacred announcement, a message that doesn’t need rationality to be caught. It is a sort of spiritual call coming from the depths. Memory and singing are linked, they enable a deeper subtle “sight”. The ancient wisdom was based on letting go, forgetting ourselves, our ego and masks in order to feel and live “the moment”. A deeply felt thank for all what we have received from Greek philosophy, poetry and mysticism. Without this inspiration we wouldn’t be here to do what we do. ENA!" The reissue for a pair of collaborations between Coil and Mexican duo Ford Proco, an act considered highly influential in Mexico’s industrial electronic music Scene, and whose debut album was on OPCION SONICA, the same label that originally launched HOCICO. The collaboration came about after Coil and Throbbing Gristle’s Peter ‘Sleazy’ Christopherson met the act’s Robert Proco and Wito Lavolt while watching The Orb perform in Los Angeles in the late 90s. They exchanged contact details, and a few months later, Christopherson called up the pair to ask if they wanted to be in a music video he was directing – Ice-T and Body Count’s ‘Born Dead’. Following that unlikely team-up, the Mexican duo worked on a pair of tracks with Christopherson and Coil vocalist John Balance, which ended up on Ford Proco’s Vertigo De Lodo Y Miel album, released in 2000. Infinite fog reissues “Vertigo De Lodo Y Miel” in a Digipak with new artwork, a collaboration that sounds lot like you’d expect a collaboration formed at an Orb gig to sound… [label info]

2016 Frozen Light, FZL 050, (ltd. 300)
Soundtrack of deep serenity dissolved in the relentless whispers of the waves. The play of light, illuminating the rocky shore, awaiting the twilight chill. A little warmth and relaxation with a little bit of melancholy. Sound mood, which came from the past, and waiting in the wings for 8 years. All of this accommodates in new Ion & Sophus CD - "Love Of One". 2 sizzling and flickering waves of sonic paintings, imbued with light and a little bit sad & slow melodic passages, recessed in deep reverberations. This music is dedicated on Hope. Hope that everyone has their own, hopes that have come true or not justified, the hope that sometimes moves us on our life path of. "Love Of One" has absorbed something close to meditation, something close and unknown at the same time. Something that we propose to discover each of you! [label info] Side-project of Exit In Grey.

Jacques, Anne-F & Tim Olive -- "Tooth Car" -- CD -- €9
2016 Intonema, int020, (ltd. 200)
For our 20th release we are announcing the Canadian duo of Anne-F Jacques and Tim Olive! Their first album was released in 2014 on the 845 Audio label, prior to a Japan tour. In November 2015 they undertook a North American tour, recordings from which are presented on this new dis?, Tooth Car. Kobe resident Olive uses magnetic pickups to amplify resonances and vibrations. Jacques employs intriguing self-made rotating surfaces, prepared and amplified. Both musicians use minimal external sound processing, mainly equalization, therefore their work is very direct, tactile and raw. The live recordings of Tooth Car highlight the duo's time-honed rapport and surprisingly natural and organic music. The illustrations used for the album are created by renowned artist Julie Doucet. Jarl -- "Amygdala Colours - Hemisphere Rotation" -- CD -- €10
2016 Reverse Alignment, RA-21, (ltd. 300)
Dark Ambient / Drone / Industrial. Jarl has a long discography behind him with more than 15 releases since his solo project started in the early years of the millenia. Describing his music as unbalanced, turbulent, withdrawn electronics that focus on isolation he's made an impact on the electronic scene defining an own explicit sound. "Amygdala Colours - Hemisphere Rotation" is the second album on Reverse Alignment and follows the critically acclaimed "Case 1959 - Dyatlov". But where previous album explored the external mysteries of Dyatlov 1959 Jarl take us unto an internal trip through the structures and events of the cognitive mind with a main focus on the Amygdala, where the processing of memory, decision-making, and emotional reactions occur. This album is built with layers of sound which slowely gets audible and disappears psychedelically. A variation of electronic and acoustic treatments has been used and the whole album is a mastodon track passing 50 minutes. As usual, the listener gets a mixture of drone, ambient and industrial that are molded perfectly into "that" typical Jarl-ish sound that sure wont dissapoint. Accompanied with the musical expression comes astonishing work from Karolina Urbaniak who designed the cover. It is as if you could touch the music. [label info]

Jarl -- "Case 1959 - Dyatlov" -- 2 CD -- €14
2015 Reverse Alignment, RA-12, (ltd. 500)
Dark Ambient / Drone / Industrial. Erik Jarl is active as Jarl since autumn 1999 and member of postindustrial act IRM. He has released CDs on several different record labels through the years and describe his music as turbulent, withdrawn electronics. A mixture of ambient, industrial and drone. This new double CD consists of three long tracks, the longest Jarl has done so far. Artwork and photography is done by the outstanding artist Karolina Urbaniak... This recording is based upon Dyatlov Pass Incident which took place in northern Ural Mountains in Russia during winter 1959. It resulted in the deaths of nine ski-hikers and until today, although some sources claim they have the solution, the cause of the events remains an unsolved mystery. [label info]

Manifesto -- "Exit" -- CD -- €10
2016 Reverse Alignment, RA-22, (ltd. 300)
Dark Ambient / Experimental. Being a part of the alternative scene since more than 15 years past, Magnus Zetterberg's Manifesto has created a trademark of bleak and dark electronica, industrial textures and blackened ambient that satisfies a diverse taste of listening with it's manifold expression. Catching up with this act in 2008, in connection with the release of the album Core, the label found it only natural to get in touch again. Since then, Manifesto has released material on such labels as Silken Tofu and Bone Structure (to mention a few) and played live across northern Europe. Exit is the finalization of four years of transformative work where turbulence, creation and re-creation sets the thematics. The entering track unfolds existence as elusive and impermanent and onwards the harsh sides of reality push us towards entropy. [label info]

Mare Desiderii meets YAO 91404 D -- "Chernosnezhye" -- CD-R -- €5
2016 Operator Produkzion, OPERPRODUKT132, (ltd. 86)
A kind of continuation of the >o<mutt project. This time Mare Desiderii (from the creator of Omutt, Dime[drone], Galaxy The Incubator, Syvary, Karjalan Tazavalla, etc.) is creatively rethinking the classical album by YAO 91404 D "Flakes of Black Ash" (2003). As a result we have a completely independent full-fledged work in vein of Old-School Industrial / Drone Ambient, somewhere between Vivenza, Vetrophonia and Maeror Tri with solid heavy gloomy drone and looped industrial clatter. The album is covered with patina of the industrial era of the beginning of the 20th century, imbued with the mysterious mood, very sustained, stylish and interesting. Recommended! [label info]

Neutral -- "The Days of Self-Abandonment" -- CD -- €12
2015 Infinite Fog Productions, IF-50, (ltd. 800)
"Neutral" is known as pioneers of Russian neofolk and one of our all-time favorite bands. Neutral started in 1994 by singer and songwriter Ash, having dramatically changed their musical direction from industrial to acoustic neofolk sound in 1998. SInce then almost every song of the band is a graceful combination of guitar and violin melodies, touching lyrical imagery and deep vocals. Now Neutral is back! We are really glad to announce Neutral's new, long awaited album. For seven years, after releasing the widely acclaimed album "Serpents In The Dawn" in 2008, Ash has been concentrating on his vision on what is to become "The Days of Self-Abandonment". All the lyrics on the album is performed in Russian and we are sure this will add a new dimension to the long musical path of the band. The sound of the native language offers an exclusively intense experience which cannot be described or translated, only perceived. For years we have been waiting for a new Neutral album and now ready to welcome one of the most important neofolk release of this year. Neutral are back with a new masterpiece of melancholic and nostalgic music comprising all the necessary elements for the perfect acoustic journey - warm guitars, emotional strings and deep vocals. Neutral -- "Luisenkirche, Konigsberg" -- CD -- €10
2006/2013 Infinite Fog Productions, IF-23
A very anticipated release from one of the best Dark Folk bands! Neutral was founded in 1993 by a singer and composer known as ASH, later Evgeny Voronovsky (Cisfinitum) joined the band. Literally every song of this project features delicate guitar and violin tunes, touching lyrical images and deep vocals. Neutral have never released too many albums, actually their recordings are big rarity... Aside for some demos and mini-albums, during the 20 years of existence only 2 studio albums were recorded: "...Of Shadow And Its Dream" (2004) and "Serpents In The Dawn" (2008), and also 2 live albums: "Walpurgis Night At Luisen Kirche Koenigsberg Live" (2000) and "Luisenkirche, Konigsberg" (2006). And if "Walpurgis Night" was released twice, in 2000 and 2008, "Luisenkirche, Konigsberg" was kind of lost in the history. It was published in 2006 by a cult and now deceased German Dark Folk label Eis Und Licht, but only on CDr/DVDr limited to 35 copies, which were actually sold out immediately. There was also a CDr version without bonus video, but those 100 copiesalso quickly found their places in cozy collections. After that the original masters were lost and we spent almost 2 years trying to find them and luckily we made it! Now this recording is reissued on factory pressed CD and DVD packed in heavy digibook, and light remastering work was done by Peter Andersson (raison d'etre)... [press-release]

Sound engineer and almost already iconic face of dark scene Ingo Lindmeier has again dug into his archive and in the production of Aliens production has gathered material that has for certain time laid covered with mystery. In these days it is the right time to see the light of a day this essentially rare material. By its sound Polygon is little turning away from the face that showed us album Sein Lernen and this time the story is set in the bowels of the darker and more experimental blocks. Dark, atmospheric corners are waving in movies atmospheres. Hypnotic strings pulsates through this whole concept and minimalistic - crystalline sequences are almost stabbed into the heart of your subconscious. Part of the album is also strong cooperation with the project Nerthus and the audio portion is signed by none other than genius Headdreamer and his powerful sound engineering. Graphic concept has been again outlined with his unique eye from the main protagonist himself and his design company Spiel Sinn. This album will definitely be interesting for the listeners that likes darker and more extravagant positions of industrial culture. Musically it is as the connection of albums Omnon and Images, although this concept is another gem and creative effort of this excellent musician. [label info]

Red Fog -- "Buried On Vanth" -- CD -- €10
2015 Reverse Alignment, RA-17, (ltd. 500)
Since it's first release Milk of Amnesia in 2010, canadian Red Fog has entered the stage as a high quality drone act combining experimental and minimalistic elements with swarming soundscapes, always taking good care of the details to make listening a pleasureable experience. Red Fog has already released eight opuses but Buried on Vanth is the first release that actually takes physical form and it's a bit of a mystery to us why Red Fog hasn't been released as CD or vinyl yet. Previous releases has solely been devoted to the digital format but maybe it's intentional, 'cause who's actually behind Red Fog?. The artwork is clean from traces... still... Buried on Vanth is a splendid work of art. [label info]

Rosenqvist, Dag -- "elephant" -- CD -- €12
2016 Dronarivm, DR-38, (ltd. 250)
Drone / Noise / Experimental. Extremely quiet and violently loud, slowly rising only to moments later bear down on the listener with a wall of distorted sounds. This is the essence of ‘elephant’, the new album by Swedish composer and musician Dag Rosenqvist. ‘elephant’ consists of six tracks, all connected to each other in one way or another. Shards of tracks re-appear in other tracks. Structures, sounds, chord progressions and melodies are revisited and rearranged. Repetition as a means of holding on to something that is already lost. ‘elephant’ is an album built on contrasts. It is an album filled with noise and fury, with distant echoes and subtle vibrations. It is a blind force that can both crush you and embrace you with its fragility. [label info]

Secq, Cyril & Orla Wren -- "Branches" -- CD -- €12
2016 Dronarivm, DR-38, (ltd. 200)
Acoustic Guitar / Glitch / Experimental. Branches came into being during a long time planned project between Tui (Orla Wren) and Cyril Secq (member of the band Astrid). Having worked together when Cyril contributed guitar to the Orla Wren's previous albums the idea then formed to do something further and even more collaborative. At the same time, Cyril had recorded many guitar parts, as a 'solo' project, that had never been released. And they were the basis, the bones for Orla to work, completely free... It's a duet between acoustic strings and processing, field recordings, edits and organic arrangements. This music is steadily ramifies, growing out of itself like a wild tree. The tunes woven together and untwine again as a branches shaken by the wind. It sounds focused, calm and distinct. Although everything has been done in distant places (France and Scotland) the result sounds like two musicians experimenting in the same room, sharing their background and culture. [label info]

SiJ -- "The Lost World" -- CD-R -- €10
2015 Reverse Alignment, RA-13, (ltd. 100)
Ambient / Drone. Vlad Sikach is returning to Reverse Alignment with a brand new SiJ album. This time with a grand force of collaborative artists such as Vadim Getiuk (Aeternam Nocte), Sergey Gabbasov, Tim Six (Creation VI), Vadim Grin (Dream Twice) and Robert Rich (among others). As is expected "The Lost World" shows the trademark of the classical SiJ sound, a lot of field recordings ending up with a very much organic and qualitive ambient, soothing and meditative but also combining rhythmic sections without loosing the floating touch of the atmospheres. Making this album Vlad Sikach took inspiration from the novel by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle with the same title. More than hundred years later, "The Lost World" now gets a new form and media via the interpretation of SiJ. [label info]

The Soil Bleeds Black -- "March of the Infidels" -- CD -- €10
1997/2016 Twilight Records, TW 1.130
Limited re-issue of THE SOIL BLEEDS BLACKs sophomore album, “March of the Infidels.” Maturing in their approach to synthetically executed neo-medieval music, “March of the Infidels,” exemplifies what may be the band’s least organic recording. The production is smooth, crisp, almost adopting a midi-like atmosphere. The album helped expand the bands audience and remains perhaps the most celebrated of their first three works. Features a guest appearance by Cernunnos Woods. Includes three bonus tracks. [label info]

The Soil Bleeds Black -- "Medieval" -- CD -- €10
2016 Twilight Records, TW 1.141
After a long hiatus THE SOIL BLEEDS BLACK return with a new album spanning seven years of intermittent recording sessions. “Medieval,” a simple and unswerving title embodying the bands art is also a reflection of their latest material, conceived in a modest manner that recalls the organic sensation of a live setting as if the listener were themselves transposed in a grand medieval hall, relishing a small band of charming minstrels. While some songs uplift with jovial melodic hooks, others are yet brooding and carry an underlying dark folk sentiment throughout. Summarily, “Medieval,” is a maturing of TSBBs art, nurtured with care and delivered in an honest pseudo-medieval fashion. [label info]

Srub -- "Ten' (Shadow)" -- CD -- €10.
2015 Infinite Fog Productions, IF-49
Second part of occult trilogy "Swale. Shadow. Fog." from Siberian Dark Folk/Post Punk band. After their highly acclaimed debut album and very successful tour, band became one of the greatest music discovering in Russian rock music for last 10 years at least. Srub have delved deeper into their style of punk-influenced psychedelic neofolk and created a self- described “post-industrial chthonic music.” Using acoustic and electronic instruments, found sounds and an extensive tribal rhythm section, Srub have put it all out on the table and left us with their magnum opus.…It grows out of the night the day. Greedy sun disturb the dead grass. Scattered melted ravines silhouettes languishing tree. Hungry Beast is awakened from his sleep. Fragile ice will no longer be dear to the house. Tanz Ohne Musik -- "Infinity" -- CD -- €15

Tanz Ohne Musik appears for the first time on Galakthorrö, but should not be entirely unknown. Dan Serbanescu, from Bucharest, has been making music for a considerable time, supported by Luna, who contributes the photos and videos. The sound with which Tanz Ohne Musik has recently stirred up interest, is on offer on the new album Infinity: Pared to the bone Angst Pop songs – radical minimalism in text and tone. Serbanescu’s strengths lies especially in the directness of his production, that celebrates the analog synthesizer with minimal distractions. He channels its raw power to driving dance hits as well as moody tracks. With unerring accuracy he arranges his sparsely selected sound elements with undercooled vocals, and always ends in melancholia, but is unpretentious and honest, that goes without saying... YAO 91404 D -- "Empire Of Lies" -- CD-R -- €8
2016 YAOP, YAOP 080, (ltd. 19)
Ronald Reagan has once called the Soviet Union an empire of evil. We could actually expand this characteristic and say that Moscow & St. Petersburg-based regime has always been the empire of lies, where stultificating preachings of scribblers from the "Father the Tsar's" court and unctuous sermons of the so called "Russian" so called "church" gave place to cast-iron nonsence of Soviet agitprop, and finally - to cinycal statements of modern propagandists having no shame and conscience, but armed with digital technologies. "Lie! All Russia has covered itself with lie like with scab," - wrote Vasily Shukshin. This is the subject of this work by YAO 91404 D, filled with wild Industrial Noise with a touch of primitive old-school Power Electronics, crooked Musique Concrete and of course the speeches of propagandists and their drivelling victims. The A4 package of the disc is made of Soviet propaganda booklets (details vary from copy to copy) and contains an insert with that quote by V. Shukshin. As a bonus you'll receive a pack of Soviet flexi 7"s with various contents - there's enough of propaganda in the Empire of Lies! [label info]

2016 Aliens Production, AP 36, (ltd. 50)
Another in a series of exclusive materials and similar conception of performers that brings and in this form unique and different, but like-minded thematic concept. Why again next compilation in Aliens production? Because it's good and unique, since music bodies has formed a concept only for this project and there is quite a lot to choose from. Purely electronic transfusions is offering you, as the constant bands as well as new names on the electronic scene in which they can be freely classified, into today, ironically sounding word, underground. In essence, this project breathes with global participation and bands that here presents their digital direction are really decent creatively based. Under common shield there is a bright palette and there is really what to choose from. Many electronic turbulences, broken beats, dark corners, disorientating points and beautiful atmospheres are waiting for listener throughout this atmospheric storm. Each track on this project is proof that electronic scene and its scope can be really bright and diverse and creative testimony have no boundaries. Great design was provided by Gleb Zhurov. 2016 YAOP, YAOP 086, (ltd. 32)
Fifth full-length album by Pri Doline Mak was recorded as a trio at the same evening as "Ingria". Here the project reaches the culmination of Drone Ambient, touching some more experimental, near-industrial and even sort of theatrical areas, forestalling the project's move into other directions. Catacomb analogue sound, typical for St. Petersburg scene, with lots of instruments and tape loops, and spiraling, wandering and somewhat psychoanalytic dramatism of this work turn it into a monumental canvas causing persistent associations with the myth of Knossos labyrinth and the Minotaur. 2012 Infinite Fog Productions, IF-18 / Eternal Pride Productions, EPP-19
Aghast Manor is a creation of Andrea Nebel (Aghast, Hagalaz Runedance, Nebelhexe) who - after working for quite some time on dark movie soundtracks - recently also re-introduced her old Aghast songs to actors and filmdirectors such as Scott Derrickso and David Lynch. As a result, Andrea got received new inspiration and she decided to work again on a full album with dark tracks! Aghast Manor is inviting you to haunting darkness and decadent visions, providing perfect soundtracks for dark disturbing atmospheres. With a blend of sinister ambient and classical tunes the first album 'Gaslights' is giving you images of industrial lunacies, victorian visions of opium smokes and dark poetry, femme fatales, Jack the Ripper and Lovecraftian occult experiences... Travis Ryan from Cattle Decapitation has submitted a song called 'Suck My Drain', vividly describing the atmospheres within slaughterhouses and other death camps. Aghast Manor's 'Gaslights' must be enjoyed at night, either in darkness or with candle light. [press-release]

Regular edition of the all new album, in Jewel box with 12 page booklet! Ataraxia in their own words on their new album: “Is this the bitter-sweet side of ourselves? We portray great misery, of course, and a typically human desperate need of survival but, at the same time, joke and irony are always present to exorcise the fear of decay and death. Here we are just musicians playing airs that make you dance and cry at the same time, and while doing this we say to ourselves: “Take your bloody knife and start exploring your killing nature, be not politically correct, sing and play as a fucking gorgon if you wish and have fun". “Paris Spleen” and the following “Spasms” are works in progress, both musically and as live performances, and our main actor Paul Patchy is just a disseminator of chaos.”

2001/2012 Infinite Fog Productions, IF-14
"Sueсos" ('Dreams' in Spanish) was originally released in 2001 by Cold Meat Industry's imprint Cruel Moon International. This remastered edition contains the bonus track 'Melisanda', which appeared on the rare split 10” with Engelsstaub "In Amoris Mortisque" (1995). "Sueсos" is a collection of songs with different styles, themes, with different historical backgrounds and recorded with the use of many acoustic instruments. Divided into three parts, the first (‘Ego Promitto Domino’) features lyrics inspired by journeys and memories of middle Eastern lands. The sounds are between neoclassical, orchestral and dreamy Mediterranean ambience. The second part (‘L’ame d’eau’) is entirely based on Medieval ballads for acoustic instruments and 2 vocalists. The Third part (‘Sandy Dunes’) is more intimate and meditative, once again the theme is the one of water linked to the female soul: The voyage through the sea, regret, the need of the sea, just for Francesca’s heavenly vocals. D'incise -- "Prairie" -- 2 CD-R -- €7
2012 Observatoire, obs * e|myth 038, (ltd. 100)
Swiss-based Peter Laurent (d'incise) offers four lengthy works on this double-disc set, centered around drones and the audible elevation of small sounds. These range from vibrating drum skins to the amplification of "quiet parts" from past concerts (an idea I rather like). This latter is my favorite piece here, yielding a varied range of not-overtly-related sounds and textures that possess a very full feeling, elements jostling around in space, buffeting each other, sliding past one another, chaotic but of a whole. In the notes to the release, he writes, "When it gets boring it becomes interesting" and d'incise abuts that subjective divide now and then. All the tracks are listenable though at times, my attention wandered, which is perhaps fine. I'm guessing that they'd function quite well as traditional (that is, Eno-oriented) ambient music in the sense of subtly causing one to think differently. Hard to say. Listening to the final piece, assembled from "feedbacks, open piano, magnetic glitches, pre-amps, laptop and house noises", one realizes that there's a hell of a lot occurring beneath the apparently simple hum though attempting to focus on it, like looking directly at a faint star in the night sky, often causes the cohesion to disappear. Very interesting work, especially the second disc. Worth checking out for those inclined in this direction. [Brian Olewnick]

Haus Arafna -- "Butterfly" -- CD -- €15
2003 Galakthorrö 014
Third album is finally here, after five years delay. New Haus Arafna album... well, it's very different from all previous works. Some of you who already had opportunity to listen "Fur Immer" 7"-single will definitely understand what I mean. The old fans should be amazed. No, there is even more fascination of the beyond and general darkness. Just like the prominent horror movie which is well done without dead bodies, blood streams and other superficial features of borrowed violence - no need for that while really frightening. All the senses are submerged into fathomless pit of human soul, still continuing torture and threaten with inexplicable force. An awful prophecy and damnable firmness - a bitter grin turns to deadly mask. This album is not so easy to understand, for me it took at least five times to play it back again and again, then something more or less distinct began to standing up against me. On the other hand, there are many people who didn't heard any previous Haus Arafna song, the new generation - seems that for them "Butterfly" should be more accessible. I even think that it could bring much new flesh into the fans camp. According to musicians, this is their first album sincerelly devoted to the true love sense, and logical develpement out of previous releases - like it always was and, I hope so, always will be. Haus Arafna -- "New York Rhapsody" -- CD -- €15
2011 Galakthorrö, Galakthorrö 028
This is no typical Haus Arafna album. It has already celebrated its premiere in September 2009 as part of the New York Fashion Week. Haus Arafna had accepted the offer to create the soundtrack for a show featuring the fashion designer Katie Gallagher. Somewhat of an unusual venture into a new environment, and in front of a new audience, this was obviously an exciting challenge for creative artistes, and for “Industrialists”, considering the extreme style of expression, a very pleasurable experience. The emphasis laid on the various elements on this album is different to that of the earlier releases. That is why Haus Arafna has preferred to delay the issue of “New York Rhapsody” until after the release of the “official” album “You”. Angst-Synthesizer, raw electricity, metal percussion, artfully reduced electronic textures and unusual vocal performances combine into a “sound from the Abyss” with deep ritual undertones. No sign of “Screams’n’Shouts” here. Instead Haus Arafna has created Angst-Pop hits and Industrial Monsters with an extra dose of darkness, almost as if the March into Destruction has to be sweetened somewhat. Well-dressed, of course... Haus Arafna -- "You" -- CD -- €15
2010 Galakthorrö, Galakthorrö 025
"You" is an album of contrasts and leads the listener along carefully selected levels of suspense through the full gamut of the Arafna-esque art of sound creation. The spectrum extends from dark jewels which permeate nerve and brain, to great boulders which avalanche their way through the intestines. A peculiar hybrid of various Industrial Music styles forming a malicious monster, remarkable for its changeability and the unexpected. Difficult to control, cunningly applied analogue electronics meet sawing Angst-synthesizer ensembles ingeniously accompanying scream, -speech, -distortion vocals to the beat of noise and steel. That has proved itself, but today’s music from Haus Arafna is generally more advanced, more to the point. All probably created just for "You". CD in jewel case with 16 page booklet. [press-release]

Herz Juhning -- "Miasma" -- CD -- €15
2009 Galakthorrö 024
After Herz Jühning has whetted the appetite of so many listeners with his Faces EP, Galakthorrö now is proud to be able to present Herz Jühning's first Longplayer. On Miasma he combines the kinetic energy of Power-Electronics with favourite ingredients from the witches'cauldron of Angst Pop. You will hear brutal bass-drones, nasty electrified currents, pumping analog rhythms and eerie frequency modulations. The sound elements have been ruthlessly selected to emphasise the reductive characteristics, and brought together around the incisive vocals to form an homogenous and complete work of art. Whether ailing popsongs, aggressive noise-attacks, or ominous sound experiments, all is artfully united in the 13 songs found on Miasma. Once more it is Jühning's no-frills arranging technique, that shows itself to be so highly effective on Miasma, just as it made Faces so successful. There is much to discover and Miasma will take the hearts of its listeners by storm! How could it not? CD in matt finish digipac, 16-page booklet incl. lyrics. [press-release]

Kopp, Hermann -- "Under a Demon's Mask" -- CD -- €15
2008 Galakthorrö 021
Everybody who has seen the Buttgereit films Nekromantik 1+2 and Todesking, has heard of Hermann Kopp. The music he wrote and performed for them is ever-present, pervading the atmosphere and has contributed considerably to the advancement of these films into classics. He still retains to this day his exceptional musical ability, and proves it yet again. Galakthorrö is proud to be able to present 13 new songs from the nekrodramatist: more than 40 minutes of new material, which today - just as it did then - has as its core his dissonantly tempered and individualistic violin playing. Combined with electronics, a host of weird instruments and metal percussion he creates an unequalled gruesome opus, carried by an effectively conceived minimalism, and the most beautiful and haunting Angst melodies imaginable. So morbid and wonderful in fact, that we have to ask ourselves how we could manage to survive for so long without any new material from Hermann Kopp - and which demons were riding him that he had to keep us waiting so long. CD in matt finish digipac, 20-page booklet incl. all texts and lyrics. [press-release]

Kopp, Hermann -- "Zyanidanger" -- CD -- €15
2013 Galakthorrö, Galakthorrö 032
On his new album Hermann Kopp devotes himself to the subject of Alchemy, having been triggered by the book “Die Geschichte Der Chemie” (The History of Chemistry) which was published in 1843 in Braunschweig written by an author by the name of Hermann Kopp. One is always astounded by these strange accidents of Fate. Notwithstanding, on the Zyanidanger album, nothing is left to Fate, conceptually or musically. The theme is excitingly put into action, the script is expertly interpreted (“mise-en-Scene”) and every weird note perfectly placed. The recording is full of gruesome melodies and it should be mentioned that Hermann Kopp lays a high value on production technique, bringing back to us, rejuvenated, the raw scent of the 80s. This in combination with his morbid-minimalistic compositions is an unbeatable mixture. The music on Zyanidanger is so utterly poisonous and deathly tragic, that it turns all the right mind-screws, letting us float in a kind of melancholy high. Which goes to prove that as a Sound Wizard and Tonal Alchemist, Hermann Kopp has certainly done his homework! An die Chemie! CD in matt finish digipac, 16-page booklet. [press-release]

2011 Les Nouvelles Propagandes, NP25
The project LA NOMENKLATUR was founded back in 1986 by Tiburce, a french composer and video artist known also as mastermind behind Minamata. After several well recognized albums, the work of LA NOMENKLATUR was unfortunately suspended in 1992. It was only last year that LA NOMENKLATUR rose like phoenix brighter than before with the CD "World at War". The sound of LA NOMENKLATUR is best described as an intense mixture of old school industrial, extreme vocals, metal percussion and well-placed samples. [Chamber Music]

Lethal Dose 50 -- "21st Century Awakening" -- CD -- €10
2006 Nuit Et Brouillard, NB CD 05
LETHAL DOSE 50 is the poison dose injected into the veins of persons sentenced to the death penalty in some states of the United States.… but LD50 is also a Belgian trio which has been existing for years in the fields of electronic musics. After a self-released first tape and a first CD-R, we are proud to offer you the first fullength CD by this talented unit. Using some digital instruments - synths, samplers- as well as some analogue ones -synths, rhythm'n box, effects-… LD50 develops an atmospheric music which is at the same time dark but warm, cosmic and experimental, melodic and deep, meditative but aware, often underlaid by some sampled voices and sound-collages, sometimes intermingled with/ intersected with some hypnotic rhythms. Being fully mastered and definitely original compared to some nowadays releases from the dark-ambient genre, "21st century awakening" will both appeal to the nostalgics of the 70ies and 80ies sonorities -old-school space-electronics from the 70ies and 80ies such as TANGERINE DREAM, NOCTURNAL EMISSIONS-.as well as to the lovers of some nowadays dark ambient acts such as SCHLOSS TEGAL, INADE, HERBST 9 or FIRST LAW… LD 50 is certainly the sole musical project able to set a bridge between these two tendencies, these two sounds, these two periods… Fans of sterilized lap-top generated or of cheap new-age ethno-ambient can go their way. "21st century awakening" will appeal as much to the soul as to the body, to the mind as to the heart. At first listening, this record may seem a little bit strange to you, like being out of phases, but the following listenings will draw you into an endless spiral similar to the one painted on the sleeve. Allow yourself enough of freedom for that... CD re-mastered by Christian RENOU, housed in an original A5 size silk-screened fold-out cover. Paintings by Leyla ERSEN. 64 minutes/10 tracks. Maska Genetik -- "Strada" -- CD -- €15
2011 Galakthorrö, Galakthorrö 027
“I’ve reached the limits of my strength” said Amon Radek, and set off in search of a new life. There was to be no place for Maska Genetik, it was too much of a torture to justify those high standards he insisted on. We were astounded and couldn’t believe it, and so we held his album back for some considerable time. Perhaps he wanted urgently to replace one of the songs? An artist of course, has his sensibilities, and a Russian has an additional inbred melancholy. So let us not be too hasty. Over the years we have certainly fulfilled our role as inheritance trustees, and so now we present his first and probably last album. It is all the more regretful, because Maska Genetik represented a pinnacle in the history of Galakthorrö, for us and for many of our listeners. This is obviously the case with Strada. There are songs to be heard that were created before, and after, the sought-after Quarantine EP. Radek’s inner conflicts and his very real suffering have shaped his Angst Pop into its own unique form. We are not presented with self-pity, but with anger and a deep sorrow, at a world fashioned by mankind, in which a future for humanity is hard to imagine... CD in jewel case with 8 page booklet. Mind & Flesh -- "Martyr Generation" -- CD -- €10
2012 Force Majeure, Force 007, (ltd. 500)
"Martyr Generation" is the first CD by the Oslo / Norway based musician Anders B. under the MIND & FLESH moniker. While initial recordings of his first industrial band, KATABOL PROCESS were done in summer 1996, Anders started up to compose alone under the name BABYFLESH around October 1998. Starting from that point, two full-length releases were recorded and produced: "Curiosity killed the Angel", CD-R on Slaughter Prod. in November 2002 and "New wave of Cynicism", CD on Vendlus Records in February 2005. Sometime in 2010, Anders B. decided to change the name into MIND & FLESH as he lost any connection with what could refer to "BABYFLESH" as a name for a musical project. The nine tracks of "Martyr Generation" were recorded between 2005 and 2008. Among them two feature collaborations with other musicians. The music of MIND & FLESH is a mix of dark & heavy analogue electronics and pounding rhythms with processed vocals. His sound can be filled under the Death Industrial genre, without any doubt. Hypnotic and powerful at the same time... "Martyr Generation" comes in a nicely designed three-panel digipack in a limited edition of 500 copies [press-release]

November Novelet -- "From Heaven On Earth" -- CD -- €15
1999 Galakthorrö 011
November Növelet is more calm and romantic side of Haus Arafna, most of texts and vocals belong to the female part of the duet. Detached, beautiful and blameless as an ice sculpture music which simply has no analogues.

November Novelet -- "Magic" -- CD -- €15
2007 Galakthorrö 019
This magically-charged jewel of electronic music consists of twelve new songs. The analogue foundation combines with electric vibraphone and 8-bit surrealism transformed into sound. Melancholic synthesiser melodies and the ethereal voice of Mrs. Arafna melt into a fragile beauty with emotional depth. Unpretentious and lost, a gripping experience. In spite of all this exploration of the depths, there is also the opportunity to roll up the carpet. Mr. and Mrs. Arafna have conjured up a few dance hits, which because of their minimalism and cultured morbid charm, should kick off the party mood for the creatures of the night. These contrast well with the slow pieces – tinged with a breath of experimentation, resulting in a many-facetted, and at the same time very balanced, Angst Pop album. The long time in waiting for the release of this new record will soon be forgotten in sheer listening pleasure. CD in de luxe matt finish gatefold digipac plus 16-page booklet incl. all lyrics. November Novelet -- "The World In Devotion" -- CD -- €15
2015 Galakthorrö, Galakthorrö 037
In recompense for the long waiting time, November Növelet is rewarding its dedicated listeners with a carefully created complete work of art, which complements its celebrated precursor Magic, in a splendid fashion. The new album shows a further development – the magical mixture continues: Mrs. Arafna’s unique vocal timbres, a beguilingly resigned performance full of melancholy, couched in deep black analogue electronics embossed with the characteristic Növeletic stamp. Fragile ghostly melodies, with weeping pad sounds together in tried and tested partnership, powered by driving bass figures and thrashing rhythms that strike sparks of divine light through the comfortless darkness of the present European Condition. Let your soul be illuminated from this shining jewel of timeless Synthesiser music, and thus experience – The World In Devotion. CD in jewel case with 16 page booklet. [press-release]

Objekt/Urian -- "Tonfragmente II" -- CD -- €10
2001/2004 Zone De Confusion, Z.D.C.01, (ltd. 1000)
First CD on Zone de Confusion, a subdivision of Nuit et Brouillard aiming at reissuing sold-out tapes, CD-R or vinyls previously released in limited editions. Objekt/Urian is a german duo working with selfmade instruments and old electronic material. Their music is a great mixture of dark atmospheric soundscapes and power-electronics with a strong old-school industrial touch at one and the same time original, melodic and powerful... Highly recommended to those who like bands like HAUS ARAFNA. Tonfragmente II includes the 5 tracks originally released on their debut CD-R plus 6 unreleased ones for a total length of 63 minutes. Their universe is cold, but never a depressing one and handled themes such as control and manipulation, information treatment, or some reflections on history - and even on own country history - have the ability to let feelings and thoughts arouse and to get matters reconsidered... The reputation of their live performances - combining music, theatrical elements and installations - went over the frontiers and the band was programmed at the fifth Deadly Actions festival in november 2002. Totally remastered sound from original recordings by Hermetique. Comes in special nice digipack with new artwork and selected varnished parts. Don't miss it… [press-release]

Turman, Robert -- "Way Down" -- CD -- €10
2014 Infinite Fog Productions, IF-42, (ltd. 400)
Originally released as a small run cassette in 1987, only to fall into tape label obscurity, Robert Turmans industrial genre-bending masterpiece album Way Down finally has been excavated for a proper vinyl reissue after twenty-three years in the shadows. This album solidifies Turman as a cut above the rest with respect to his talent and his natural ear for experimental composition. Turman first came onto the industrial scene in the late 70s as the ominous other half of legendary noise outfit NON, alongside Boyd Rice, together releasing the now classic first NON single, Mode of Infection/Knife Ladder 7" in 1977. After parting ways, Turman went on an excursion of self-released cassettes to which he fused every possible influence at his disposal, culling together past habits of experimental know-how and going forward into uncharted terrain. After his previous experimental efforts included on his Flux release in 1981, and even later in the prolific Chapter Eleven boxset, Turman turned the tables with the creation of Way Down, using synthesizer arrangements and drum machines alongside guitar solos, piano chords, tape loops and primitive sampling to create a whole new concoction of dance-like minimal synth blended together with the industrial darkwave noise he was mostly known for. After almost vanishing from the music scene, Turman resurfaced in 2005, teaming up with seminal noise musician Aaron Dilloway to not only reissue previous recordings, but to record and perform once again with new releases out on Hanson and Medusa. This reissue of Way Down serves as the blueprint of what Turman sought to render as a very accessible minimal synth/industrial album, yet keeping it just obtuse enough to make it one of the most brilliant and engaging albums to be ushered into the canon of 80s experimental culture. Regular Jewelcase edition. [press-release]
