CDs & CD-Rs

4th Sign Of The Apocalypse -- "All The Children Love" -- CD -- €15
2013 Old Europa Cafe, OECD 172, (ltd. 300)

Afflux -- "Boquetot / Paris / Port Jerome" -- CD -- €10
2002 Ground Fault Recordings, GF021
Afflux is a group consisting of Eric Cordier, Jean-Luc Guionnet and Eric La Casa. Afflux (Influx) is a music, produced on-site — at a precise time, with material from a precise site. The sites were selected according to a transport-related principle: stations, roads. Mixing and processing are done simultaneously, recording in stereo with a van used as a studio. Three long tracks recorded in various locations: a village road with an iron tunnel, a big train station in Paris, and a petroleum plant.

Anti-Verstand -- "By The Song As The Wind" -- CD-R -- €7
2007/2013 Operator Produkzion, OPERPRODUKT113, (ltd. 46)
Reissue of a legendary retro-psychedelic album recorded in 2006 by St. Petersburg based noise project Ant-Verstand. Earthen Power Electronics, an absurd cosmic symphony sunk in radionoise, smashing samples, sound like a prairie wind - tousles but purifies. Only 46 copies in sleeves with hand-written info, each copy is unique, each has different cover. [label info]

Atrium Carceri -- "Void" -- CD -- €14
2013 Cryo Chamber, CRYO 001
New Atrium Carceri album is released on Simon Heath's own label - Cryo Chamber. The cowled seers from beyond the frigid void incessantly observe us moving through our daily lives. Manipulating the orders of chance and whimsy they collect our thoughts and steer us through the Illusion. Their goal to collect the few for an expedition deep down into the abyss where the lost god once sought refuge. The weave of "reality" grows thin with this release as it explores what lies beyond even the manifold spires of the ancient city as well as the fractured memories of every swayed traveller. Atrium Carceri returns with a stunningly detailed album and yet again propels the genre forward into uncharted territory. Comes in nice designed Ekopak. [press-release]

Baker, Aidan -- "Aneira" -- CD -- €13
2013 Glacial Movements Records, GM017
Aidan Baker is a multi-instrumentalist, classically-trained in flute, but best known as a guitarist. Using various electronic effects combined with prepared and/or alternate methods of playing the guitar, he creates music which generally falls within the ambient/experimental genres but draws on influences from shoegaze and post-rock, contemporary classical and jazz. Over the course of the last decade, Baker has released numerous recorded works, both solo and with his duo Nadja, plus various other musical projects, on such labels as Alien8 Recordings, Important Records, Die Stadt Musik, and Broken Spine Productions. He is also the author of several books of poetry. Baker has collaborated in-studio and live with such artists as Tim Hecker, Carla Bozulich, Jessica Baillif, Noveller, OvO, members of The Jesus Lizard, and members of Swans. He has also composed for and performed with such contemporary classical ensembles as The Penderecki Quartet, The Riga Sifonietta, and The Monday Morning Singers. Baker has toured extensively around the world and appeared at such international festivals as FIMAV, SXSW, Incubate, and Mutek. Aneira (Welsh for 'snow') is one long, slowly changing piece created using only a 12-string acoustic guitar, manipulated and played with different tools, as a sound source in order to make sounds resembling that of ice moving or breaking and of wind or snowstorms. Aidan Baker also wrote a poem about Aneira, that will be inside the digipack. [press-release]

Celer -- "Without Retrospect, The Morning" -- CD -- €13
2012 Glacial Movements Records, GM015
"In the winter of 2009, i spent two months living and working a short-term job in photography and surveying in South Alberta, Canada. Aside from the job, it gave me the opportunity to work further on "Without Retrospect, the Morning", the final part of the water-themed trilogy of albums that included the previous releases Cursory Asperses and In Escaping Lakes. Some days the snow would be so heavy the sun would never show, and ice covered the windows in the mornings. The wind rushed up the banks of the nearby mountains, and whipped against the buildings. I had brought with me two Sony Tapecorder open reels, and a box of tapes of recordings from the past six months of piano and synthesizer. Using an endless delay system between the two open reels, i listened, layered, cut and pasted the tapes over time. Playing them out loud on the built-in speakers Tapecorder created a new type of texture, from combinations of the ice cold temperatures heated only by the room gas heater, reused tapes, and the decayed quality of the old speakers. After mixing and processing the tapes with microphone and contact microphone recordings of the ice, snow, and sub frequencies of the wind, the cracking and crunching sounds, both high and deep, seemed to appear naturally in the tape. The sub bass widened, and the mid range became thin and fragile. For more than two years the recordings remained untouched, until recently, now in Tokyo, they were mastered, and recorded to new tapes. The affects of the cold, the sudden sunsets through the snow, and the night winds still stay in my mind, like a soundtrack to those two months, not without their own songs of loneliness but with also beauty, sounds seeming like a siren, embracing every unchangeable and otherwise forgetful moment, even in the bitter winter." Cordier, Eric -- "Breizhiselad" -- CD -- €10
2006 Erewhon, CDWhON011
In making Breizhiselad I have tried to rewrite some masterpieces of the traditional music of French Brittany. Apart a few field recordings all the material on this record originates in extracts from two songs of the A side of a 10" 1960s reissue of a 78rpm. The story begins when a Breton cousin discovered the record at his grandmother's house. On first listening, I found it to be horrible - but a work of genius. Horrible because of the catechism-like vocal arrangements but a work of genius in terms of the beauty of the melody and the conviction of the singers. Another particularity is the importance of the disc itself, whose vinyl surface is nearly erased, polished under a sea of cracks. My project has been to transpose this traditional music into the tape music medium with a view to preserving what is strong in the source material and erasing the sugary, churchy treatment of these originally popular songs. Composed between May and October 2003 with a sophisticated delay pedal, a sound processor and handmade devices. [from the author]

Cordier, Eric -- "Digitalis Purpurea" -- CD -- €10
2003 Ground Fault Recordings, GF025
Sourced from recordings of multiple-loudspeaker installations in northern France between 1993 and 1997, "Digitalis Purpurea" is Eric Cordier's second outing for Ground Fault (he also forms part of the group Afflux with GF regulars Jean-Luc Guionnet and Eric La Casa). Original sound material for Cordier's works is culled from church organs, dulcimers and hurdy gurdy - he's one of the few practitioners of the instrument worth listening to (check out the trio Schams) - imparting a rich stringy texture to the sounds, which are then stacked up into dense but not impenetrable structures (cf both the title track and "Dactyle Aglomeree"). "Les Os Longs" is more varied in texture, originating as it does in diverse field recordings - though unlike his friend and colleague La Casa, Cordier goes to great pains to disguise the sources - and the final "Postface" ("no tape manipulation", the composer stipulates) is a weeping draughty smear of pipe organ... [Dan Warburton, Paris Transantlantic]

Cordier, Eric -- "Houlque" -- CD -- €10
1996 La Grande Fabrique, LGF 003
"Houlque" is the first CD by the French composer Eric CORDIER. Divided in two pieces, "Stellaire Holostee" and "Houlque", it includes a total of ten tracks, recorded between 1993 and 1996. These pieces were composed as soundtracks for installations from various instruments such as Hurdy-Gurdy, Dulcimer-Vina, Harpsichord and Church organ, all used and processed in a non-academic may. This is pure experimental / contemporary music, nothing "Folk" here.... housed in a very nice booklet sleeve. [Nuit Et Brouillard]

Cordier, Eric -- "La Cite du Bruit" -- 3"CD-R -- €7
2011 Universinternational, uiCD016
'La Cite du Bruit' naviguates to the limits of silence and phenomenal noise with a permanent tension. The composition was born from the confrontation of fighter-bomber planes - making 'noise' to be heard in all its power, excess and chaos - with the regular nature of iterative sound phenomenons, such as the charging/discharging of electrons inside the condensers of a microphone, or the steady or quickening crackle of aquatic insects. This piece brings together elements contrasting in structure and nature. The displays of the Bourget's air show (recorded from 19th to 21st June, 2009) provide with a profusion of unstructured sounds with such an intensity you would feel it through your body. In contrast, extremely amplified micro-phenomenons such as the aquatic insects recorded in the Bois de Vincennes in (during the summer of 2009), bring, with their simplicity, a very musical articulation. Everything here is about interweaving contrasting elements, but which eventually become a structure. 'La Cite du Bruit' was created on the 22nd of November, 2009, during the 'Kunst' program of Austrian national radio ORF, as part of a series of broadcats curated by the label Gruenrekorder. Cordier, Eric -- "Osorezan" -- CD -- €10
2007 Herbal International, cd 0701

Cordier, Eric / Seijiro Murayama -- "Nuit" -- CD -- €10
2010 Herbal International, 1004
"Nuit" was composed in 2007-2008 as requested by Seijiro Murayama. He invited me to compose for him a "piece mixte", where his percussion was back to back to a tape. As he is Japanese, I was inspired to compose around a series of recordings done in Japan the year before. However, the piece evolved from a simple composition to a performance where I asked Seijiro, beyond playing only percussion, to add to it various live actions such as the use of voice, breath, bubbling sounds, movement in space and working with lights and shadow theater. During the show, I was also involved in the actions such as painting with fire and moving the microphone to create a close and distant effect on the sound. The field recording for the composition was done between july-august 2006, mainly in Honshu, Aomori Prefecture with the help of Satoko Fujimoto and her family. In order of appearance: Rice field with buffalo frogs in Kanedate Kizukuri, bird in a forest on Hokkaido island, firework at Goshogawara City, cicadas at Iwaki Mountain, announcement to "be careful with fire" in Kanedate, ritual in the Bodaiji Temple in Osorezan, and a toy-windmill nearby, bell of the Kanedata Temple, drumming on iron protections against the snow along the road. The tape uses some French recordings too, on part 4: Olivier Maurel and Georges at Observatoire Astronomique de Haute Provence 2006 (F 04, Saint-Michel-l'Observatoire), Brotone Forest (F 76) Sep. 1993, and (p. 5) Chinese New Year festival in Paris Feb. 2008... Cordier, Eric / Scott Sherk -- "Overheard And Rendered 2" -- CD -- €10
2010 and/OAR, and/over2, (ltd. 200)
At long last, and/OAR presents the second of a series of limited edition collections illustrating the various approaches to environmental sound art. These collections allow for longer format works to be presented within a multi-artist presentation. Also returning for the first time in five years is the custom card stock insert packaging housed inside clear vinyl sleeves... Yperiau, by French sound artist Eric Cordier, is a sonic exploration of the lower regions of the Maison de Radio France in Paris, where its own power plant is situated. The huge building is virtually a city within the city equipped with recording studios, performance halls, a cafeteria, restaurant, clinic, museum and gymnasium... Scott Sherk is an American sound artist who recorded and edited sounds of a train yard near Allentown, Pennsylvania. Some of the frequencies captured proved to be a bit too intense for the microphone used to make the recording, so certain sonic artifacts emerged as a result. Elsewhere in the piece, there were some fine tuning of harmonics using a Max/MSP patch created by Scott. [press-release]

Cordier, Eric / Denis Tricot -- "Orgue De Bois" -- CD -- €10
2008 Prele, prl003
In the last few years, with their Orgue de bois (Wooden Organ), Denis Tricot and Eric Cordier have installed constructions which are at the same time sculpture and musical instrument in many public spaces. Each Wooden Organ is unique, conceived for the space that will receive it. A monument, a square, a street, a city... With it's long undulating wooden lines (successions of joined slats), it creates privileged spaces which are exposed to the public eye. After a performance, the audience is free to explore and discover the instrument's vast potential for musical sounds and noises... More that thirty Wooden Organs have been created in the lat four years in France and Italy. Generally around thirty metres long, these monumental yet extremely light sculptures integrate in their construction the basic principles of lutherie (instrument-building), and can be played like any string or percussion instrument. The Wooden Organ is very simply amplified. The recordings, like the concerts, use no electronic processing, but the monumental instrument itself intentionally contains principles of mechanical resonance and vibration. [press-release]

Eloy, Jean-Claude -- "Shanti (Paix / Peace)" -- 2 CD -- €25
2010 Hors Territoires, HT 05-6
Electro-acoustic / Musique Concrete. “Shвnti” (1972-73) for electronic and concrete sounds. Electronic music studio, WDR, Cologne, Germany, 1972-73. Digitalized and revised version from 2001. “The term “meditation music” triggered many conflicting comments including positive ones (“... let us say that Shвnti belongs to those very rare works that change you after listening to them. You are not exactly the same before and after.” - Gerard Mannoni, Le Quotidien de Paris, 1974). Others, wondering at the strong sound presence of the piece, consider such aspect as hardly helpful to their own meditation... Let us be clear: “what meditates” here (”that” who meditates) is the composer. He is the one who takes you on his journey and guides you through his work like in a classic or romantic symphony. As a listener you are invited to follow “his” meditation... The composition is the meditation.” [label info]

Emme Ya -- "Chthonic Transmission (Abysmi Vel Daath)" -- CD -- €10
2013 Cold Spring, CSR175CD
“Chthonic Transmission” is Emme Ya’s 2nd full-length album for Cold Spring. Ritual Dark Ambient with esoteric vocals and an archaic magickal energy. “The album itself is an Alchemical process, in which I am descending and ascending, in a series of ritual visualisations under the veil of daath, being all such 6 stages of personal spheres of transmutative inner magickal paradigms, which are just part of the development of my own personalities, sexual feminine energies evoked and transmuted, with the sole purpose to transcend this existential reality in which I am submerged. Trying to explore in the sea of nothingness, searching my own inner light of self-creative power. Transforming, mutating, developing. Once again and again in a giant cosmic ouroborus… entering my parallel worlds eternally” (Emme Ya).

Netherworld -- "Alchemy Of Ice" -- CD -- €13
2013 Glacial Movements Records, GM018
NETHERWORLD is the moniker of Alessandro Tedeschi, the creator and owner of Glacial Movements Records in Italy. Over the last few years, the label has received much appreciation and critical acclaim from both the national and international music press. Coming originally from Rome, NETHERWORLD published several works on various labels such as Fario, Angle Rec, Umbra, and Taalem. He then decided to focus on his visions for his own record label - Glacial Movements with releases like "Morketid" (2007) and "Over the Summit" (2011). These were again critically acclaimed gems of ambient music. Last year NETHERWORLD performed at both the in Störung and Flussi electronic music festivals in Europe, and it’s from these two performances come some textures and field recordings of the new album "Alchemy of Ice". In the six tracks that make up the CD, he also used some old field recordings and sounds recorded in 2003 in some underground caves in Lazio, Italy. The conceptual elements highlighted in the new work of NETHERWORLD are Alchemy - a view from the metaphysical point in both spiritual development and liberation - and the ice, the natural element essential for the achievement of eternity. In order to make the best quality sound for "Alchemy of Ice", the mastering of songs was entrusted to Denis Blackham (Skye Mastering Studio), famous throughout the world for having worked with top artists such as Fennesz, Biosphere, Edgar Froese, William Balinski, Coil and many others. All the sound material was composed, mixed and created by Alessandro Tedeschi / NETHERWORLD through countless layers and manipulations made with analog sampler Roland VP9000. Alchemy of Ice is dedicated to OOPHOI, who passed away on April 2013. [press-release]

Spiritual Front -- "Open Wounds" -- 2 CD -- €33
2013 Trisol, TRI 476 CD, (ltd. 2000)
Songs are like open wounds. Music can hurt. Can strike new wounds and tear up old ones. No one is more aware of this than SIMONE „HELLVIS“ SALVATORI. His feverish music is a diary of his failures and triumphs, a deep scar running through his work. He finds pleasure in the pain it causes him, sheds tears for the lust it evokes in him. Like an Italian JOHNNY CASH, he clads his life in intimate ballads of becoming and withering, of sex and death. SPIRITUAL FRONT is the Folk Noir crossbreed of ENNIO MORRICONE and NICK CAVE – Suicide Pop from a decadent otherworld... Where secret passions are whispered into darkness, where dream and waking, intoxication and hangover dance closely, „Open Wounds“ feels at home: Morbid Mafia folklore for hedonistic self-destructors, murder ballads for decadent lotus-eaters. Like a heavy red wine, SPIRITUAL FRONT‘s music gets better and better over the years – ever more exhilarating, ever more effective. As if SIMONE SALVATORI had to reach a certain age to understand his music properly. As if he had to accept that living means suffering. Now, the erotic enchantment of his masterpiece „Armageddon Gigolo“ is back. On „Open Wounds“, it mates with delicate prowess and baffling arrangements that would invoke envy in every Mafia orchestra... Sacred profoundness turns to sweaty sheets when SIMONE SALVATORI sings for his soul, when he trembles, hope, loves, suffers and lives. The machismo and his guitar, joined by the orchestra - „Open Wounds“ is the epitome of Suicide Pop. Sexy to the brim, sensual even in the face of certain death, full of whipping urgency. To this, the bonus CD comes as a sharply acentuated contrast, uniting instrumentals, alternate versions and stunning reworks: A calm and very moody view into the artistic life of this abyssic gigolo. This second album is like the cuddling after the all-consuming act of love that is „Open Wounds“ - and SPIRITUAL FRONT is the lover that disappears before dawn. Only a dream? The wounds tell a different story... Limited 2CD Special Edition: double-CD in book format (appr. 14 x 21 cm), bonus-CD with 11 tracks, hardback book with elaborate thread stitching, 40-pages extra-booklet, precious artprint on high-quality paper, strictly limited to 2,000 copies. Ziph -- "Musique Pour Trompes Et Ballons" -- CD -- €10
2011 Prele, prl006
By dint of dismantling his trombone, to blow in it in a reverse way, to plug pipes and rubber balloons on it, Thierry Madiot ended up inventing a new instrument: Ziph. Seemingly simple, the Ziph only consists of 3 elements, a balloon between a roll of floor covering and a ring. The roll of plastic, twisted form a horn that provides amplification and harmonic multiplication. The ring keeps the balloon open in the way it gives the instrument a mouthpiece of brass instrument style. But most astonishing is the balloon that operate between its two parts of the membrane some vibrating, is analogous way as double reed (oboe family). From there, everything is complicated by the fact that the balloon is long and elastic. Thus this double reed soft can be stretched, kneaded, triturated, multiplying the ways of playing. Consequently that instrument is an unclassifiable hybrid that has something to see with the trombones, brass, oboe and not only. As a contemporary instrument, it is not focused on the pitch and thus it is sometimes close to electronic instruments more than a son of the family of wind instruments. Then as the sound is generated by a kind of reed, the instrument generates harmonics which are in return encouraged by the horn, and it result a granular signal not to say sometimes distorted. Ziph is an acoustic instrument that sometimes pass for an electronic instrument. The instruments vary in size from 2 to 20 m and for this record, it is played in by a band of 2 to 13 musicians. Column One -- "AntiphoNA" -- 10" -- €12
2013 Substantia Innominata, SUB-18, (ltd. 500)
'ANTIPHONA AD INTROITUM'! Finally on SUBSTANTIA we can present to you the highly regarded German masters of experimental dadaism & de-construction, whose releases are always a thoughtful play with hidden meanings, conceptions & contradictions: 'Learning to play. Disorder. Destruction of programmed Solutions. Learning to see.' COLUMN ONE is a long existing collective of multimedia artists hailing from the Berlin-area with frequently changing members; their performance & artworks are as important as the music (see also their impressive website: www.column-one.de). On this mysterious 10" you will disocver two pieces that sound completely different: ANTIPHONA is a bewildering work of musique concrete, changing between very fast moving collages and quieter parts, always surprisingly fractured, using an amazing quantity of different sound-sources of all kinds. The second piece INTROITUM is a meditative overtone bowl-drone recorded at the legendary "Sibirische Zelle" in Berlin with three microphones in three different rooms, resulting in strange sound-effects and audio interactions. Both tracks can be regarded as anthiponies forming a single whole. For us these are metaphors for the emergence of the "Irrational" and "Sacred" in the daily profane lives, using notions from religious scopes in a new context. Side A ends in an endless groove, the artwork comes from SEAN HILLEN, pressed on bleak vinyl in an edition of 500 copies. [press-release]

Column One -- "THX-1138" -- picture 12" -- €12
1997 Tochnit Aleph, TA 005
A mysterious 45 rpm from the German veterans of abstract collages with no information except the title printed on a record itself. Two tracks with viscous surreal multi-layered atmosphere built from processed fragments of TV samples.

Dead Body Collection -- "The Rostov Ripper" -- С-60 -- €5
2012/2013 Terror, TR-23, (ltd. 53)
Rereleasing recent HNW release might seem like quite a weird action, but since the first edition was only 12 copies and the material is truly interesting, it's truly worth it. Material on the tape is not purely static as you could expect from Dead Body Collection. Two sides with half an hour of material on each different approaches to sounds. I think there's no need to talk about A. Chikatilo, who was the main inspiration for this record for it would be difficult to find a person who doesn't know about his crimes. 53 victims and 53 tapes. Instead of numeration you get separate photo with short description of the killing etc. (there are a few sheets without photos since they don't seem to exist). [press-release]

Delchia / Trolis & The Giberlingers -- "Kvantinis Osciliatorius / Mirror Gaze" -- MC -- €5
2013 Terror, TR-19, (ltd. 100)
The idea of this split was born, matured and almost died in the time span since 2008. It's impossible to try and see this album as somewhat conceptual and there is no need to try and exaggerate, and think of non existent meanings. This is the joint album of two friends who liked each other's sounds and they might be connected if only through astophysical sound experiments and archaic cosmology. Delchia - drone/doom band from Lithuania who stopped their activity some time ago. In this particular tape - solo experiments of Nikas D. and voice of Levas in one of the tracks. Trolis & The Giberlingers is the ethno minimal project of Evkonas (Obtest, Fanarai, Notanga). More than 50 minutes of sound in this tape and rare possibility to hear music that is almost forgotten now. Pro printed covers. Tape comes with the pin. Edition: 100. [press-release]

Far From Mind -- "Darkest Dreams" -- MC -- €7

[YAOP]

Negative Climax -- "Kala" -- MC -- €5
2013 Terror, TR-24, (ltd. 100)
This one is particularly weird and great for me. Negative Climax is a duo from Japan who presented truly nice sonic concept in their previous works though most of them are very limited. Flowing massive synth lines intertwined with acoustic instruments, witch-like chants in Sanskrit and throat singing. Truly beautiful, slightly uncomfortable and original. Highly recommended. Edition: 100. [press-release]

Strup / Tchernoblyad -- "s/t" -- MC -- €5
2013 YAOP, YAOP 062A, (ltd. 28)
Conceptual split-EP dedicated to the Jewish issue in the years of WWII. Retrograde industrial sound, lots of sonic quotations. Craft-cover and stickers. [label info]

Vidine Ramybe / Hassokk -- "Vilnius" -- С-30 -- €5
2013 Terror, TR-18, (ltd. 100)
I'm really glad to announce the split of these two Lithuanians. In this tape they share their impressions and opinions about their home city, Lithuania's capital, specifics of communication and surviving, about the citizens they've met and overall atmosphere of the city which is not that hospitable. This tape is not about Vilnius which is promoted in flyers and booklets about Eastern Europe, not about the city that is visible for tourists and that you can see while walking in the old town full of boutiques, churches and museums. Vilnius in this tape is different. Vidine Ramybe - Lithuanian power electronics project that has lately been a little too silent. 4 tracks of good, filthy power electronics, dedicated to 4 districts of Vilnius. Hassokk offers one long, leaning towards industrial and post mortem track. 30 minute tape with A4 insert with lyrics etc. 100 copies. [press-release]

White Gimp Mask / Volksmorg -- "Cum Is Nothing When You Enter Through The Back Opening" -- С-40 -- €5
2013 Terror, TR-21, (ltd. 100)
White Gimp Mask - one of the fundamental projects that has formed and influented the famous band Pink Floyd. Volksmorg - legendary neofolk band from Lithuania which is returning to the stage after years of silence. This is the melancholic album about inseminating, wasting cum, alcohol and spiritual journeys. Album is highly inspired by current problems and disasters in the world that touched musicians, their families and beloved ones. Tape will hopefully fire up empathy even for the biggest cynic because they have no place in this beautiful world. Long live humanism! 40 minutes tape with slightly misleading description. 100 copies. [press-release]

Ain Soph -- "Aurora" -- CD -- €15
1992/2012 Old Europa Cafe, OECD 053 II / Misty Circles, MCR79
After his first edition back in 1992 on "Cthulhu Records", and the OEC re-edition in 2003 here comes the 3rd edition of this very seminal album! As for the first re-edition to the album was added one unreleased exclusive track recorded during the same first "Aurora" recording sessions but never used on any album nor compilations. This album is to be considered a pioneers opera of neo-folk cabaret which was influencing many artists. A very controversial and politically incorrect album talking about Italy during & after "WW2". Digipack artwork basically in the same form of the original but for the first time all lyrics on the booklet are in both : original languages (such as Italian, French, Spanish, Latin ..) and English translations. The whole album was completely re-mastered for best and high quality sounds. [press-release]

Ain Soph -- "Oktober" -- CD + mCD -- €17
2002/2008 Old Europa Cafe, OECD 044
Yes the roman masters are back after 10 years with the AURORA follower album: "OKTOBER"... ! All is singed on Italian with their usual acoustic instrumentation and their tipical keyboard, songs in the way of Aurora but with an aditional rocking electric guitar, once more a work out of all standards! The more unusual industrial project which still works from inside the idustrial world... Tales from a jung russian guy during the october revolution... probably even more "surprising" than the last "incredible" AURORA... The disc that all of you was waiting for! Comes in ellegant digipack + lyrics booklet. [label info]

Arcana -- "As Bright As A Thousand Suns" -- CD -- €15
2012 Cyclic Law, 49th Cycle, (ltd. 2000)
Four years after the release of their last full length album "Raspail", and following their "Emerald" EP released earlier this year, ARCANA now offers us brand new material on their 7th full lenght album. As accustomed from this legendary act we are graced with Peter Bjargo’s solemn voice echoing through the blend of strings, guitars, piano and a variety of percussion instruments. Ann-Mari Thim’s beautiful, picturesque soprano floats through the air together with Nuria Luis’ emotional violin and Cecilia Bjargo’s soft, mellow alto blends in with Mattias Borgh’s and Sergio Gamez Martinez’ percussive rhythms. As Bright as a Thousand Suns is a sincere and sapience filled opus from a mature collective, ten diverse songs of thoughts and emotions on one album of pure splendour. Edition of 2000 copies in 6 panel Digipack. [press-release]

Bad Sector -- "Plasma" -- CD -- €15
1998 Old Europa Cafe, OECD 011, 2nd edition
If "Ampos" is the "plastic" masterpiece by Bad Sector this is the "surgerical" masterpice by the Italian industrial master! great conceptual work! sound sources: Magnetosphere, Vostok + Salyut + Soyuz original recordings, Pulsar, High Voltage, Neon... all this sounds are building a unique powerful & pulsing sound sculpture, a great mind experience! The cover presents a series of interesting "electricity / energy" photos! Second print with a new full color re-worked cover! [press-release]

Bates, Martyn & Troum -- "To a Child Dancing in the Wind" -- CD -- €15
2006 Transgredient Records, TR-03
Profound songs inspired by Yeats-poems: The acoustic transformation of the deepest yearning for this release, the German 'transcendental-drone'-duo Troum teams up with the legendary British singer/songwriter and Eyeless In Gaza-member Martyn Bates. More than 2 years in the making, Martyn Bates has sung & played (mouth organ & melodica) over basic material Troum provided - consisting of harmonic minimal loops & basic song structures derived from accordion, e-bass & guitar, percussion, who were then also responsible for the final subsequent additional mastering (adding more guitar-work, voices & balalaika). Martyn Bates has chosen to sing four poems of the famous Irish poet W.B.Yeats, and he did this with a most impressive sensitivity for Troum's very sublime & rather hidden harmonic structures. There are also two instrumentals in a more experimental style on this disc, one being a dark drone reprise of the main piece 'Mad As the Mist and Snow #2.' Martyn's voice is surely not something for everyone - it's of an extreme emotional & yearnful quality that might be not easy to stand - a yearning which is like a deep 'cry out to the horizon,' to something that is unreachable per se, feeling a passion that tears you apart inside. This is pure emotional poetry transformed into yearnful audible spherics! [label info]

Cordier, Eric / Emmanuel Mieville -- "Dispositif: Canal Saint-Martin" -- CD -- €10
2007 Xing-Wu Records, XW5003CD
Xing-Wu's 3rd release, "Dispositif: Canal Saint-Martin", has well-celebrated french sound artist-composer, Eric Cordier in collaboration with fellow countryman Emmanuel Mieville. The frontipiece of this release is the primary track itself, which was performed live and composed in realtime during a concert at the Centre d'animation Jemmapes, Paris. Marshalling well over 30 microphones as a sonic capture and repository of this parisian cultural site, Cordier and Mieville transform the space and its environs into an organic vestibule of aurality and sounds. [Stalplaat]

Derniere Volonte -- "Immortel" -- CD -- €15
2010 Hau Ruck!, HR!96
Immortel, Derniere Volonte`s 5th studio album took 4 years in making and marks their 15th anniversary! It is a huge development from the former style which redefined the therm "military pop" to a more homoguene, less neoclassic but much more modern in sounds, more electronic but organic at the same time - and reinvents a style Geoffroy D has been influenced since his early days. The themes on Immortel are effected by books, movies or personal experiences of Geoffroy but reflects in general his personal feelings about beloved people and their spirit which is and always will be present in our souls and memories. Immortel is another milestone in the oevre of one of France`s most interresting band from the underground scene and will for sure attract fans from the early days but a lot of new fans from other musical scenes. Deutsch Nepal -- "A Silent Siege" -- CD -- €15
2002 Old Europa Cafe, OECD 045
The final part of "Silent" trilogy published by Old Europa Cafe. Great example of old school industrial! The album has been collected over 10 years and is spiritually close to Lina Baby Doll's live shows - alcohol-fueled, sometimes rhythmical, song-oriented, dark, chaotic and kinky.

Goatvargr -- "Black Snow Epoch" -- CD -- €10
2010 Cold Spring, CSR126CD
The second unholy union of Lord Nordvargr (MZ.412, Folkstorm, Toroidh etc) and Goat (USA). Time, pilgrimages and bloodlines have been bourn since the first testament of Goatvargr was witnessed in this era of false knowledge. The first covenant of Goatvargr was baleful, lycanthropic and lethiferous. A rejection of the techgnostic kingdom and circuitry idols which seduce our era. The downfall of light has brought a world of coldness. This Black Snow Epoch is a time to honour our forbearers such as MZ.412 and the elements of flesh, wood and alchemical steel. Industrial loops and analogue keyboards merge with sheet metal and chains to create a solemn winter hymn where the cold steel stings your flesh. The wolf instinctively hunts through the frost, and the goat is blamed for human transgressions, yet during the Black Snow Epoch, the true hunters will pursue... Presented in a jewelcase with foldout poster cover. [press release]

Government Alpha -- "Venomous Cumulus Cloud" -- CD -- €8
PACrec 129, (ltd. 1000)
Venomous Cumulus Cloud kicks up one hell of a dense psychedelic shifting kaleidoscope of noise. Balancing perfectly the need to be brutal and complex in its texture and use of sound. Simply put this is one hell of a ride, its prime noise on the same level as some of Merzbow's work... [from Musique Machine review]

Lopez, Francisco -- "Amarok" -- CD -- €12
2010 Glacial Movements Records, GM007
Francisco Lopez is known all over the world as one of the main figures of all time experimental music. He performed in hundreds lives, projects and sound-sets in 60 countries of 5 continents and his huge discography has been released by more than 200 labels all over the world. His musical universe moves from human-ear limits to the deepest abysses of sonorous power and it is mostly composed of field recordings caught along the wildest areas of Earth or between the sounds of industrial world... For “Amarok” composition two years of hard work have been employed using sounds and processed field recordings. It’s a unequalled conceptual soundscape in this artist’s huge discography and it perfectly joins to Glacial Movements aesthetics. After a few seconds from the track beginning we are dip into an arctic trip which lasts more than an hour and in which tangled weavings in a masterly fashion handled by the Spanish artist appear, develop and dissolve. Gusts of arctic wind, the Amarok’s wheezing breath (Amarok is the name of a gigantic wolf in Inuit mythology) and the sense of loss in the polar night are only some of the sensations that this cryogenic hallucinatory acustic is able to evoke. “Amarok is probably one of the more isolationist and spookiest work I’ve ever done” Francisco Lopez, march 2009. Lull -- "Like a Slow River" -- CD -- €12
2008 Glacial Movements, GM004
After a long period of silence, Glacial Movements Records is glad to announce you the return of the most important representative of ambient isolationist music ever: the wonderful English artist Mick J. Harris aka LULL (Scorn, Painkiller, Napalm Death).Unquestionable genius of the last century's second half European music and point of reference about the rising isolationist aesthetics, being on the same wavelength as post-rock last scenaries... "Like a slow river" it's a work characterized by sharp and minimal atmospheres but also dark, cold and huge such as big bodies of ice which slowly move carried by an endless river. The five compositions of "Like a slow river" reach the high expectations of the previous works such as "Cold Summer", "Continue" and the "Murder Ballads" trilogy with Martin Bates. With no doubt, this is the coldest and darkest work ever composed by this pioneer of industrial-ambient music. You all will be led to the oblivion of your existence....the freezing darkness of these glacial night is going to come down on your bodies and minds....you'll fall in your deepest sleep with the far echo of glacial runnings....the way to eternity is in front of you.... The latest offering and first for Cyclic Law of one of Italy's finest Black Ambient master. "Whispers" represent doubts and thoughts about the prevalent decadence that is around and deep within us and "wastefulness" translates to the imminent, definitive end of all things, to oblivion... NEW RISEN THRONE's latest opus offers a bleak and sorrow filled soundtrack celebrating death with little hope for rebirth... Oophoi -- "An Aerial View" -- CD -- €12
2008 Glacial Movements Records, WSGM001, (ltd. 750)
"When I’ve been asked to describe the Ice Age with an uninterrupted drone, I knew I wanted to avoid the cliches of the genre: dark rumblings, massive low frequencies, cold atmospheres. I had to describe with sounds the white landscape, the blinding light reflected by the frozen oceans, the abyssal silence. I have imagined myself in flight over this Sleeping Earth, a solitary winged-being surrounded by winds, air, water and ice. This led me to compose an airy drone with minimal variations and delicate tones, an hommage to a pure, incontaminated and remote land." [from the author]

raison d'etre -- "Prospectus I (Redux Version)" -- 2 CD -- €18
1993/2013 Old Europa Cafe, OECD173
Long time sold-out, finally here comes the re-edition of this cult and seminal album! A stunning blend of the modern soft gothic sound and the timeless chants of Catholic rituals. Archaic layers of string sounds, bells and choirs are intermingling with heavy drums and industrial loops creating an unsettling and threatening background atmoshere whilst spleen and sweetness forms the foreground. 'Prospectus I' became the first CD album by raison d'etre, originally released in 1993 by Cold Meat Industry. In order to celebrate the 20th years anniversary it has now been made available as a reduxed and enhanced 2CD album. All the sounds has been restored and re-recorded from source and all the tracks has been carefully mixed to maintain the true feeling and atmosphere of the original album but with the modern standards for high quality audio. 'Prospectus I' with related tracks can for the first time be experineced with superior audio quality and well balanced mixes. Rapoon -- "Obscure Objects of Desire" -- CD -- €16
2008 Vivo Records, vivo2008039CD
This album is about yearning. That aching emptiness that still exists when all rational processes have been exhausted. The unobtainable, all consuming and immaterial. The irrelevant and the irrational. The dark torments and the light hearted banter. The victories and the defeats. The achievements and the failures. The loves and the losses. When all are accounted for there remains only... the obscure objects of desire. [from the author]

Sangre Cavallum -- "Veleno De Teixo" -- CD -- €15
2007 Ahnstern, Ahnstern28
The northern Portuguese Sangre Cavallum return with a new and outstanding folk album. It is titled “Veleno de Teixo” meaning Yew Poison and it is a collection of tributes to women and to the cult of mother-goddess in pre-Christian era. "Veleno de Teixo" contains a brand-new set of 16 powerful songs between pagan folk and power-psych atmospheres. Inspired by the music and ethnography of their homeland Callaecia/northern Portugal. It is laboriously produced, capturing the revolutionary minds of these musicians. Among many traditional instruments they play the hurdy-gurdy, bagpipes, flutes, folkloric guitars, war-drums and many times these acoustic instruments are transformed with heavy distortions and meet the psychedelic bass and vintage guitars. It also features the new singer Emanuel Melo da Cunha on a fine debut. "Veleno de Teixo" is a step forward in their wonderful path and a pleasing example of how tradition is a living thing when folklore meets folk rock or dark industrial music. Includes great artwork and a 16 page booklet with psych-photo art and beautiful texts. 63 min. / 16 tracks. [press-release]

Severin, Steven -- "Vampyr" -- CD -- €10
2012 Cold Spring, CSR170CD
Following on from 2010's ‘Blood Of A Poet’ (CSR135CD), Steven Severin presents the third score in his ‘Music For Silents’ series. Acclaimed solo artist and founder member of the legendary Siouxsie And The Banshees, Severin presents a mesmerising score, heightening appreciation of the surreal and enigmatic nature of the original work. ‘Vampyr’, Carl Theodor Dreyer’s unsettling tale of fear and obsession, finds its aural counterpart in Severin’s textured score; a synthesised, highly atmospheric soundscape drawing the listener rhythmically into the story. Shot with a silent film aesthetic despite being within the sound era (and a year after Lugosi starred in Universal’s ‘Dracula’), ‘Vampyr’ is an alternative take on the cinematic vampire, creating an intense, nightmarish atmosphere that haunts the mind. Presented in a textured card sleeve with artwork by Arban. [press release]

Strup -- "Everybody Die Young" -- CD-R -- €8
2010 Тело Мелодии records, (ltd. 10)
A gorgeous album, true discovery-2010 for the post-Soviet noise scene! Lo-fi collage noise material built on multiple samples from Soviet records from 70-80-s, concrete & field recordings and talented author's poems read in a very expressive way (resembling Egor Letov...). The result is a haunting weirdly atmospheric work, a kind of caleidoscopic dream with cuts from Veprisuicida and unforgettable breakthroughs of the project Communism. Psychedelic "babyphone" for thirtysomething people. Packed in a semi handmade A3 poster/cover decorated with paint and silver powder. [YAOP]

Sturmpercht -- "Schattenlieder" -- CD -- €15
2009 Percht, Percht12
Three years have passed since Sturmpercht released their cult-album "Geister im Waldgebirg". Now the masters of ALPINE FOLK are back with their new album "Schattenlieder - eine kleine Nachtmusik fuer Waldteufel und Berggeister". The album features 20 diverse and unique songs full of alpine mystic, heathen legends and tales about strange fairies and pagan rites. "Schattenlieder" entrains you into deep forests, arcane mountains and dark chasms and guides you to hidden places in the depth of the central European forests, where hunters meet strange creatures from dusk til dawn. The atmosphere of the album varies between gnarled songs about creepy fairies, catchy folk hymns and dark songs about the hard life in high alpine regoins. The lyrics deal with alpine myths, forest tales and hunter sagas. "Schattenlieder" is the perfect "soundtrack" for misty autumn evenings as well as for dark winter nights. The album features a large variety of instruments and sounds: obscure, strange, folky, psychedelic, but always original and weird, in Sturmpercht's very unique way. "Schattenlieder" is a completely unpredictable album - each track is a "standalone", but contributes to the overall ambience of this alpine folk masterpiece and in the end the album creates a round, whole atmosphere. With almost 80 minutes of scary/dreamy folk songs, the album definitely sets a new benchmark within the Alpine Folk genre... [press-release]

Trinithos -- "333" -- CD -- €15
2008 Heimatfolk, HF 03

Their music is best to describe as dreamy NeoFolk with a slight DarkPop touch, with orchestral parts, martial drums and even some apocalyptically dark experimental passages. On "333" the band plays a large variety of acoustic instruments, like several different guitars, bass, violins, flutes, drums, didgeridoo,... as well as a few beautiful electronic arrangements. The vocals are polyphonic performances of German lyrics by male and female voices and deal about mythologic themes, natur romanticism and theories of cognition. [press-release]
