Together with the labels Shadowplay Records and Monopoly Records we are pleased to present you the second album of Archon Orchestra, produced by the well-known founder of Cyclotimia and Sphere Rex projects. "Cenotaph" continues the line started on the debut CD "Pong" - the sounds of a church organ harmoniously intertwine with delicate, subtle electronics while piano and strings mysteriously "float" under the arches of a gothic cathedral immersing the listener in light melancholia. Recommended for the lovers of both atmospheric soundtracks (Ludovico Einaudi, Eleni Karaindrou) and academic "minimalism" (Philip Glass, Terry Riley, Arvo Pärt). However it's also absolutely worth checking out for the fans of "neoclassic" and "ethereal".

Kshatriy pleases his fans with a regularity of his musical experiences and Muzyka Voln label gladly presents his third CD-album "From Heart to Heart". Many reviewers referred Kshatriy's previous works to space dark ambient and the new album also has a cosmogonic feel to its musical images. This time everything takes place in utterly deep space, in the immense emptiness that contains the whole world.

Swinging on slow waves which shimmer in all possible colours we contemplate monumental galactic metamorphoses. Slowly unwinding are the tight spirals of synthesizer drone, rhythmic patterns pulsate and emotional melodies are cut with rare flashes of voice samples. Smoothly flows the sound, charged with energy, transmitting the experience of self-awareness from the musician to the listener... from heart to heart.

Aeterna -- "Abyssos" -- CD -- €15
2012 Lichterklang, LK012

Andersson, Peter -- "Music For Film And Exhibition I & Natura Fluxus" -- 2 CD + DVD -- €31
2011 Infinite Fog Productions, IF-19, (ltd. 400)
Peter Andersson from the Cold Meat Industry act raison d’etre now presents his sound work for film and exhibition, spanning through the years 1999 to 2006. Peter has been working on several film and exhibition projects, some of these projects never went to final completion but the music was composed in almost all the cases. Music for Film and Exhibition presents a broad spectrum of the sounds and music capabilities of Peter Andersson and those familiar with any of his different music projects including raison d'etre, Necrophorus, Atomine Elektrine, Bocksholm etc… will most probably enjoy this double album (Music duration 151 min.) very much... For now Infinite Fog Productions presents complite edition of 'Music for Film and Exhibition I" which contains real DVD with Natura Fluxus - film by Peter Andersson and Lars Bosma + some rare bonuses, like another Peter's films - Autumn Leaves; Mandala; Dritfing Wall; Nature Morte e.t. Total play time approx. 83 minutes! Natura Fluxus brings us on a poetic, existential and suggestive journey dealing with matters like abandonment, desolation, emptiness, inanimation, remembrance and residual energy through places where we can spot traces of presence of mankind. Discover the aesthetic beauty in old factories and ruins: in the perishable and the metamorphoses that follow. Natura Fluxus is a experimental film where concrete, environmental sounds and original scored music blend with visual stunning sceneries of rarely seen places. The film is in B/W and Color. Highly recommended! Masterpiece of ambient music! [press-release]

Area Bombardment -- "In Hoc Signo Vinces" -- CD -- €15
2010 Lichterklang, LK002

Art Abscons -- "Am Himmel Mit Feuer II" -- CD -- €14
2012 Fronte Nordico, AA II, (ltd. 300)
The CD version of the first Fronte Nordico release from one of the best today's new neofolk projects Art Abscons. «Am Himmel mit Feuer II» is a total remake of CD out in 2010 on Dead Scarlet Records. Most of the tracks were re-recorded, many got totally new versions, some new tracks were added and some old omitted, and the tracklist was completely resorted. The result is a totally different album - as matured, integral and professional as best neofolk classical works by Sonne Hagal, Forseti and Orplid. Brilliant melodies, charming voice, sophisticated soundwork and german poetry full of melancholy, sadness and irony are melting together to form a perfect gem of rare beauty – not to be missed by any fan of dark folk magical art! This CD version is different not only to the 2010 release but also to its vinyl analogue, it lacks two short interludes appeared on LP but includes one totally new track and one song here is completely reworked. The release comes in a special embossed thick grey rough carton cover with full colour picture and limited to 300 copies only. [press-release]

Art Abscons -- "Les Sentiers Eternels" -- CD -- €14
2012 Fronte Nordico, AA IV, (ltd. 300)
The CD version of the second Fronte Nordico release from Art Abscons, one of its most favourite current neofolk projects. «Les Sentiers Eternels» is a brand new album including 10 tracks finished and mixed in early 2012. This work took about one and a half years in the making and shows further development both in technical refinement and the creative side of the project. The genre borders of neofolk are broken and we see here a varied mix of many style elements – from pure dark folk guitar ballads to more eclectic conceptual tracks close to something which could be defined as kraut-rockish psychedelic industrial, from electro-pop / minimal wave tunes to harsher and more aggressive pieces. The album was produced according to an innovative recording technique called «Stereo Spektral Sunrise» and is the first album to feature the SPEKTRALOPHONE, a sort of organic synthesizer developed by Art Abscon himself. «Les Sentiers Eternels» also brings Art Abscons' spiritual kinship with American neofolk project Gnomonclast to a new level and contains various noteworthy contributions from N2 ItinitI and Sasha Feline. This album is a kind of sounding universe strictly based on the principles of Abscons Magik and N2 ItinitI's cabalo-gnostic achievements, and, thus, includes any contradictions the real universe presents us with. There's everything here – Sun and Moon, Day and Night, Love and Hate, Joy and Grief, all act according to the hidden principles eternal, and this work is the most complex and intellectual to be found among Art Abscons albums until now – the literal and accurate revelation of the Hidden God – a pure excitement to the intelligent listener who is into occult matters! This CD is again distinct to the LP version, one track is totally reworked and the cover artwork is different. The release comes in a special embossed thick grey rough carton cover with full colour picture and limited to 300 copies only. [press-release]

The project Dom Vdovy ("House of Widow", coming from Leningrad region) released its first demo records back in 2002, and in 2010 put out its first CD album. The project's style can be described as classical black ambient with elements of neoclassic - foggy obscure atmosphere, adherence to funeral and afterworld aesthetics, abundance of synthesizer pads, sepulchral samples and ritual rhythms. The CD also contains a video for one track.

Franck, Yannick -- "Hierophany" -- CD -- €10
2012 Monochrome Vision, mv44, (ltd. 500)
Musician, performer and founder of Idiosyncratics label, Yannick Franck has developed an increasingly personal style that combines sharp acoustic research and abrasive walls of sound. Often described as trance-inducing, his music is based on the treatment of sources such as instruments and non-musical objects, voice, radio signals and field recordings. It ranges from fundamental acoustic explorations ("The Staircase Continuum") to more stylistic-expressionistic searches ("Memorabilia"); two fields of investigation that tend to collide in his latest works such as Hierophany... In such conservative genre like ambient there is not easy to find something to discover, but the music of Yannick Franck can change this widespread prejudice. Infuenced by recent trip to Russia and the orthodox culture, he composed the continuous suite of three movements, showing his personal vision of the ancient rite. [label info]

Inade -- "Aldebaran" -- CD -- €14
1996/2001 Cold Spring Records, CSR13CD, 2nd edition, (ltd. 1000)
The masters of Black Ambient! "Aldebaran" is the black sun of the secret knowledge. This work focuses on the German Vril society myths of 'Aldebaran', from which universal spirituality is said to originate. One hour of immense walls of dark, brooding atmospherics, pulsating anthems of the universal power, mixed with themes of heritage and history. The ultimate document of deep and cavernous dark ambient. [press-release]

Kauna Traips -- "s/t" -- CD -- €10
2010 Sturm, Mandat nr. 31 / Underbed Storage, UNST01
Experimental dark ambient release by Tarchoks and Koils. It all started in 2006 when it seemed no longer possible to keep holding all this within, partly due to the surrounding environment. Like induction, shame - as masochistic means to feel strange guilt for breaking imagined social and moral constructions, or making them serve another purpose; and conservation of energy - the two minds and bodies, often being intoxicated death close, transforming energy into something else. A tranquil accompaniment for madness, and information overload, pouring into your consciousness and subconsciousness through every smallest crack. [press-release]

Knauzers -- "Kvizingtaktika" -- 3"CD-R -- €5
2010 Sturm, Mandat nr. 35 / Underbed Storage, UNST03, (ltd. 300)
Ambient hypno-saga from the dark doings of Knabis (Traur Zot) and Stropu Jurka (Strops) featuring Claustrum in one track. Vibes of somber austerity, crepitating noises and mesmerizing pulsations of ascetic audio shamanism. Darkroom music for rites of lust. [label info]

Koivunmahla -- "Kuolli Elliyavia Ei Tie" -- CD-R -- €9
Strely Peruna, SP 010
Rough cold music, played on ocarina, mouth harp and self-made metallic string-spring construction accompanied with saamian songs. The recording was made during winter solstice of 2000. One-time side project of Eugeny from Lunar Abyss Quartet.

Koma Project -- "Flatline" -- CD-R -- €7
2012 Essentia Mundi, EM023, (ltd. 100)
Experimental droning doom metal. KOMA Project is a side-project of Yury (aka Spinefish) from Orel, Russia. Flatline is the first album release of this interesting project that gathers a number of local and Swedish musicians to bring you a meditative, humming, oppressive and at the same time mesmerizing atmosphere. La Nomenklatur -- "La Legende Des Voix" -- CD -- €10
1986/1995 Ant-Zen, Act 34, (ltd. 1000)
"La Legende Des Voix" is a re-release of La Nomenklatur's first tape, recorded in 1986. Powerful pulses and cold noises layering in very electronic sounding sheets of bruitalist percussions and distorted vocals. This aggressive aggregate is a raw document from the early days of rhythmic industrial noise. [label info]

La Nomenklatur -- "Le Triomphe De La Volonte" -- CD -- €10
1992 Les Nouvelles Propagandes, NP 014
"Le Triomphe de la Volonte" was the last album by La Nomenklatur [before releasing "World At War" in 2011], a solo project of Philippe Escartin, the leader of industrial group Minamata. It was released in 1992 and most of material was recorded approximately at the same time. Unlike the works of Minamata dedicated to only one theme, albums of La Nomenklatur are more varied both conceptually and musically. Deformed orchestral samples and electronic sounds mixed in deliberately atonal and arrhythmical manner, sometimes with abrupt ending, work as an accompaniment to the excited Philippe's voice pronouncing his epistle texts in agitational manner. All this resembles a kind of avantgarde opera or monodrama, noone has ever done anything like this neither before nor after La Nomenklatur! Unfortunately because of complete absence of any promotion and weak distribution this release was almost sentenced to noteless existence in the dark area of musical market - and even now, after 18 years, just a few people know about it. [Monochrome Vision]

La Nomenklatur -- "Un Recueil De La Nomenklatur" -- CD -- €10
1996 Les Nouvelles Propagandes, NP.015
A retrospective collection of rare material recorded and released in 1988-1992, including tracks from the split-album with Brume "End Of Symptom Dump / Meosta" (1989, La Legende De Voix), and cassette compilations "Avanti!" (1990, T.M.F.H.), "Autoplasie II" (1992, Nuit et Brouillard), "Music From The White House Volume 4: France" (Exart Cassettes), "Tri-Bu 2" (1991, Dedali Opera) and "Cobwebs" (1992, Epitapes). Not only this is an interesting historical document for the perfectionist collectors, but also a good opportunity to get an impression of the evolution of this unique and unappreciated musical project. [Monochrome Vision]

La Nomenklatur -- "World At War" -- CD -- €10
2011 Les Nouvelles Propagandes, NP25
The project LA NOMENKLATUR was founded back in 1986 by Tiburce, a french composer and video artist known also as mastermind behind Minamata. After several well recognized albums, the work of LA NOMENKLATUR was unfortunately suspended in 1992. It was only last year that LA NOMENKLATUR rose like phoenix brighter than before with the CD "World at War". The sound of LA NOMENKLATUR is best described as an intense mixture of old school industrial, extreme vocals, metal percussion and well-placed samples. [Chamber Music]

Meelkop, Roel / Mecha/Orga -- "Rotterdam 54:21" -- CD -- €10
2012 Monochrome Vision, mv43, (ltd. 500)
Early 2012 Yiorgis Sakellariou (aka Mecha/Orga), hailing from Greece, invited Rotterdam based sound artist Roel Meelkop to explore his hometown for a period of acoustic research. The two artists worked for a week in a residency at the WORM studio. They explored the textures and variety of Rotterdam’s soundscape through field recording and also worked on the analogue synthesizers of the WORM studio. Rotterdam 54:21 is concerned with juxtaposing, mixing and filtering field recordings with analogue synthesizer sounds and aims at an open-ended attempt to construct a soundscape that will give the listeners a chance to immerse themselves in this sonic experience. An impressive display of both incredible composition and furious power from noise masterminds Masami Akita and John Wiese. Having both released significant work on Misanthropic Agenda, we are very proud to offer their premier collaborative album! Akita and Wiese pull no punches. No beats, no prog, no techno -- just pure delivery and satisfaction of electronic extremes. Second edition in jewel-case. [press-release]

Minamata -- "Cyclator" -- CD + DVD -- €15
2009 Les Nouvelles Propagandes, NP.021, (ltd. 500)
"Cyclator" is the 2009' release for this pioneer of the French industrial scene. It includes a full-length audio-CD containing material recorded in 2002-2007 and a DVD offering the complete MINAMATA' performance recorded live on Saturday, April 21st 2007 in Antwerp/Belgium plus the video of this show. Massive waves of Power-electronics are here perfectly mixed with metal sounds & percussions and heavy processed vocals, reflecting the agony of the Japanese city of MINAMATA in the 50 & 60's years. This concept release comes in a nicely designed three panel digipack, limited to 500 copies. [Nuit Et Brouillard]

Minamata -- "Cyclator - The Second Outbreak" -- CD + DVD -- €15
2009 Les Nouvelles Propagandes, NP.022, (ltd. 500)
Subtitled "An ultra video performance", "CyKlator (the second outbreak)" includes audio & video material especially composed, recorded and mixed for the "Tonwellen Konferenz 2", the Burscheid' festival (Germany) 2009. Containing fragments of tracks previously released on various productions - the two first tapes "Mit Lautem Geschrei" and "Methylmercure" and the "Cyclator" CD - mixed together with new sound-material, "The second outbreak" CD is the soundtrack of this performance. 7 tracks / 48'08 mns of massive waves of abrasive electronics & heavy processed metal sounds with vocals and sampled-voices, all mixed in studio. On the other hand, the DVD includes the complete live-performance plus fragments of interviews and other things filmed at the Burscheid' festival. "CyKlator (the second outbreak)" is nothing less than a document of this event. Comes in a DVD slimcase with full-colour cover. Limited edition to 500 copies. [Nuit Et Brouillard]

Minamata -- "Politkovskaia" -- CD + DVD -- €15
2010 Les Nouvelles Propagandes, NP.023 / L. White Records, LW-062
"Politovskaia" was released in September 2010. Dedicated to the defunct Russian journalist Anna POLITKOVSKAIA, the CD includes eight tracks, as an homage paid to all persons died for the freedom of speech. Compared to the previous releases of the band, "Politkovskaia" offers more atmospheric and more rhythmical parts as, to my point-of-view, the perfect synthesis between LA NOMENKLATUR and MINAMATA. This is a really brillant album, one of the best release of this cult french project, IF NOT the best one! The DVD contains eleven tracks extract from the "Cyclator" and the "Politovskaia" CD's, all recorded live in Russia in October 2009. Full-colour cover in standart DVD case. "Death leads to silence, Silence leads to death". [Nuit Et Brouillard]

The Protagonist -- "Songs Of Experience" -- CD -- €15
2005/2012 Raubbau, RAUB-011
Are you one of those that wondered whatevered happened to The Protagonist? After the much acclaimed debut A Rebours from 1998, fans of meticulously crafted music at the intersection where dark ambient meets neo-classical have waited in vain for a new album. However, this shouldn't be mistaken for seven years of idleness on the part of Magnus Sundström. Rather the focus shifted to his other musical endeavour, the evil twin Des Esseintes, as well as the launching of his own imprint, the much productive Fin de Siecle Media label. But after this summer's strong comeback, the Interim EP, the time has finally come for a new album. Just like A Rebours, the title Songs of Experience betrays the literary impact on the music. And just like the poems of William Blake, these compositions strive to forge a perfect marriage between romanticism and darkness, with most emphasis on the latter this time around. Of the eight tracks, some are reworked versions of rare compilation tracks and some are completely new. Taken together they show the steady evolution of The Protagonist in the 21st century, of an artist that treasure an impeccable end-product over fast turnarounds and proliferation. raison d'etre -- "The Stains of the Embodied Sacrifice" -- 2 CD -- €20
2009/2012 Ewers Tonkunst, HHE 035 CD
Ewers Tonkunst is happy to announce its another collaboration with famous Swedish industrial music mastermind Peter Andersson made ten years after long sold out Panzar “Human Degeneration” CD. This time it's a reissue of his main project Raison D'Etre latest studio album initially released in 2009 on Cold Meat Industry. 'The Stains of the Embodied Sacrifice' is not only vibrating on the surface of your skin. It is alive and breathing, a creature with a knife that cut deep wounds in your body while your soul shatters for air. It is a psychosomatic and transgressive disease opressed by a compulsive behaviour manifested in dualities - the one of your body and mind - and states of metamorphoses - mind becomes flesh become wounds become fluids become stains. Play it loud if you want to become the martyr. Play it low if you are the innocent victim. There are no levels in-between. Violent and intense, it is a hell of an ordeal. But withstand and you are promised bliss. This version of the album has been expanded with an extra disc containing 60 minutes of previously unreleased early-versions-of-the-original-album-tracks. The release comes in a special foldout 6 panels digisleeve and includes 2 full colour inserts. [press-release]

The album is based on "live" joint action of four projects from Helsinki (Restraint), Moscow (Dasein) and St. Petersburg (Indra & YAO 91404 D) made in ruins of the beton bunker Su-7 located on Mannerheim Line. A noise performance in the middle of the woods made with the use of available means and primitive instruments recorded on analogue and digital devices and later reworked by Asket (Dasein) in a 35-min cancas of militant old school ritual industrial combining power of modern sound technologies with retrograd earthly spirit and aesthetics. Retro-futuristic military avantgarde. Sleeve. [label info]

Rich, Robert -- "Below Zero" -- CD -- €12
1998 Side Effects, DFX 33
"Below Zero" tells a story of infinite distance, inhuman scale and deep time. It ranks among Rich's most foreboding and expansive works, with its vast surrealist soundscapes, clouds of shifting metallic overtones, indefinable mutations and sinuous threads of melting sonorities. It also represents a significant technical achievement, using sound design techniques that range from phase vocoding and granular synthesis, to open-loop feedback networks and chaotic electro-acoustic systems. Yet somehow within this isolated landscape of unfamiliar sounds, there shines the intense and melancholy sort of beauty that permeates Rich's singular sonic universe. [CD Baby]

Rich, Robert -- "Echo Of Small Things" -- CD -- €12
2005 Soundscape, SP008
Echo Of Small Things is a collaboration of sound and image, with music by Robert Rich and photos by David Agasi. Longtime friends Agasi and Rich inspire each other with image and sound. Ten of Agasi's haunting sensual photos unite with Rich's calm reflective soundscapes in this unique creative meeting, focusing eye and ear on the beauty of the intimate and peripheral. [label info]

Rich, Robert -- "Electric Ladder" -- CD -- €12
2006 Soundscape, SP009
On his newest CD, Electric Ladder, Robert Rich finds a new voice for the vibrant interlocking melodies that characterized his works such as Numena, Geometry and Gaudi. With its seamless blend of analog modular synthesizers and acoustic tonalities, Electric Ladder weaves a hypnotic spell - lush, ecstatic and seductive. Its shimmering geometric lines grow more sharply etched with the clarity of justly tuned instruments and the intelligence that pervades Rich's compositional vocabulary. [label info]

Rich, Robert -- "Illumination" -- CD -- €12
2007 Soundscape, SP012
Subtle, deep, slow electronic atmospherics created for a video installation by Michael Somoroff in New York. [label info]

Rich, Robert -- "Medicine Box" -- CD -- €12
2011 Soundscape, SP022
A sonic tincture of shamanic energy, at once ecstatic and shadowy, fragile and surreal, fluid and psychedelic. Chari Chuang’s wordless crystalline voice graces three songs, with traces of Persian inflection. Deep basslines hint at dub, while analog modular synth skitters and chuffs the outlines of a rhythmic grid, propelled forward by pulsing north African drums. Sustaining guitars bring a searing edge. Cello and reeds echo plaintively in the distance. Rich’s sparse piano adds droplets of modal jazz to this dark tea. [label info]

Rich, Robert -- "Music From Atlas Dei" -- CD -- €12
2007 Soundscape, SP010
This CD focuses on new music from the film Atlas Dei - those pieces that aren't released on previous CDs. The remaining tracks on this CD feature new mixes, crossfades and edits of the older pieces. The film Atlas Dei takes a lyrical journey through time and space into the mystery of our cosmos. On this feature length film, musician Robert Rich and filmmaker Daniel Colvin weave the strands of science, myth, and poetic vision into a powerful and compelling tapestry of the human enigma. Rich, Robert -- "Nest" -- CD -- €12
2012 Soundscape, SP023
Sublime ambient sounds in the vein explored by Brian Eno in his classic album 'On Land' — but deeper, more musical and much more sonically refined. If there is one Robert Rich album that is ideal for Hearts of Space listeners, this is it. [Stephen Hill, Hearts of Space]

Rich, Robert -- "Temple Of The Invisible" -- CD -- €12
2003 Soundscape, SP005
Temple of the Invisible finds Robert Rich at his most organic, eschewing the trappings of modernity or stylistic boundaries. Using only simple acoustic instruments, Rich has crafted a document from a distant time and place, a lost culture with musical underpinnings that reach from Java to North Africa, from Medieval Europe to the Tibetan Plateau. Rich uses the music of this unknown civilization as a platform to express an intensely personal quest. Each piece documents part of a lost ritual, with mythical and spiritual components conveyed through a strangely familiar yet foreign musical language, as if unearthed from an ancient common ancestry. Contributors include Sukhawat Ali Khan (son of the great Indian vocalist Salamat Ali Khan), Paul Hanson (from Bela Fleck & Flecktones, Wayne Shorter, Zenith Patrol), Percy Howard (from Meridiem, Bill Laswell), and noted solo artists Forrest Fang and Tom Heasley, adding dimension and power to this mysterious world out of time. [label info]

Rich, Robert -- "Ylang" -- CD -- €12
2010 Soundscape, SP021
Robert Rich's first solo studio album in three years seductively blends Rich's expressive steel guitar, shimmering organic electronics and yearning flute melodies with influences as diverse as south Indian Karnatic music, pulsing minimalism (Steve Reich, Terry Riley) and introspective jazz (Bill Evans, Miles Davis); while its deconstructed drums and guitar feedback might feel at home with Sigur Ros or Bark Psychosis. Sol, Edward -- "Sun Storm Rampage" -- CD -- €12
2012 Quasi Pop Records, QPOP CD053, (ltd. 500)
Over 45 minutes of sounds captured on concert, by famous Ukrainian composer and sound artist Edward Sol. Recorded on Christmass 2011 in Kiev directly to digital recorder with no edits and overdubs. Recording has some uncritical technical deffects, and artist’s performing way sometimes quite far from the perfect, but we liked that massive psychedelic space collage a lot and decided to release it on proper CD. The music varies from delicate electroacoustic textures to killer static powerdrone, spaced synths and bestial metal junk, but general approach remains full of energy, beauty and elegance. CD artwork is identical to concert’s theme: both dedicated to supernatural Solar activity and to sacral mathematics of Pythagoras. [press-release]

2007 Sturm, Mandat nr. 21 / Dangus, DGCD022
The solid fullenght release penetrates one's mind and emotions with massive layers of noisy, powerful industrial in combination with lyric ambient fever. The dramatic martial opus shines with a distinct Strops peal, - deep, anxious, snug and melancholic. Great barricade industrial songs bear strong social anti-consumerist concept, a hint of despise towards globalisation and philistinism - the resistant message about a forgotten price of freedom. Strops -- "Slepenie Rotallaukumi" -- CD -- €10
2004/2012 Old Captain, OCCD02, (ltd. 500)
Contemporary corporative media have a tendency to arrest society’s attention and when it is captured - infect it. This is an ideal environment for cultivating phobias and panic, when the infected individual gets in contact with environment, which doesn’t correspond to the coded standards of security. STROPS is occupied with breaking these codes, using the unused arms of media arsenal for creating new space, where these arms are turned against their creators. 'Slepenie Rotallaukumi' is a 16-episode multiform debut from a famous Latvian industrial recruit. The record embraces both home listening and club-oriented material thus offering a polychrome sound spectre of cryo-ambient vibes with metallic percussion stings, harmonic key sections and rhythmic noise elements, all interlaced by lyrics of dramatic doom. Originally released as a CD-r by Sturm label in 2004, this magnum opus is now available for wider audience via Old Captain CD production. Comes in a transparent DVD slimcase. [press-release]

TBC -- "Insecta: The Birth Of Gods" -- CD -- €10
2012 Monochrome Vision, mv41, (ltd. 500)
This is the debut full-length CD by Thomas Beck solo project - raw and noisy soundscape inspired by the kind of the modern mythology, showing his perfect skills in uncommon treatment of synthetic sounds, samples and field recordings, after numerous small run works, different collaborations with other artists and other activity... Thomas Beck started in the early 80s as H 6 4, influenced by the aesthetics of Dada/Futurism - an antistatement of society and music. He was active in tape/mailart network with two labels (DDT-Tapes and EX) and fanzine called "Magazine". Some years later he discovered the possibilities of natural sound phenomena - the structure and signals of being there. In 1991 he formed the "Hör-Bar" music club with Y-Ton-G and Malte Steiner and changed the name to tbc. The main idea was to make a room for exchange of musical ideas and the possibility to meet musicians from around the world. In 1992, Thomas started the new record label Wachsender Prozess for noise culture based sounds, which is still active. Together with Günter Reznicek (Nova Huta) und Felix Knoth (Felix Kubin, Klangkrieg) he launched the "Odradek" magazine, devoted to electroacoustic and electronic music, and weekly experimental music program Radio Gagarin on local autonomy radio station FSK. Further projects included some short films, art stuff, DJing, several performances with the improvisational band Six and More, the collaboration with Jan Iwers (No) called Freie Hand. Also with Guy Saldanha, Heiner Metzger, and some mail music projects with Brume, Artificial Memory Trace, Das Synthetische Mischgewebe. The interactive sound installations with Istari Lasterfaher and label art exhibition at different spaces, participation in the improvisation noise group 180 Grad and the citizenship of Elgaland/Vargaland completes the presentation of this outstanding german soundartist. Troum / Aidan Baker -- "Nihtes Niht" -- CD -- €15
2013 Alone At Last, AAL[4], (ltd. 500)
"The music supposed to be a soundtrack for lonely ice-soundscapes... when you stand there on lonely wide inhuman places and feel lost, but you still stand on ice..." - Baraka[H]. The newest collaboration between masters of evocative noise/drone ambient is divided into four long tracks, four directions of nothing. The tracks are entitled in middle age/indo-german language, for north, east, south, west. And the album title means "nothing from nothing" - very weird notion, as it doesn't exist anymore in actual german language. Recorded live March 2011 at GHUTTO-M studios in Bremen, Germany. Limited edition of 500 copies in special packaging - custom made of glossy paper with multicolor metallic print, assembled by hand. Comes with the set of 11 postcards mixing the computer generated images and photos of ink/light paintings created in conjunction with music to expand your impression. [label info]

V/A -- "Yakut Heroic Epos "Kyys Debiliye"" -- 7" -- €33
1993 Aprelevka Sound Inc., R92 01533
The record contains fragments of Yakut tales performed by great folk masters I.G. Timofeev-Teploukhov, P.P. Yadrikhinskiy and U.G. Nokhsorov, in the tradition of central Yakut style of tales. In Yakut epic tradition there is a stable system of intonation types, connected with the certain heroes of Olonkho. So the record is put together in the way that the first side presents the tunes of the Upper and Middle worlds, and second - fragments of musical characteristics of the Lower world inhabitants. [from the sleeve notes] Mono sound, 3-colour sleeve, an absolute rarity. [YAOP]

Cassettes

Brandal, Andreas / Holloway, Ian -- "Ritual / The Prescient Machine" -- C-60 -- €7
2009 Agharta, 004, (ltd. 60)
Norvegian A. Brandal is experimenting with sound from the end of the 80’s. In this work his experience is conveyed by five pieces of cracking, squeaking, tinkling, field recordings and smooth (and not) drones. With quite sparse sound material he manages to organize enough active, dynamic construction with abstract rhythms and flexuous loop passages. Ian Holloway, artist from Wales, know from project Psychic Space Invasion delivers long wavy drone trip deep to the inner dark waters, enriched by field recordings and sudden noise intrusions. Hard experience with short, bright periods. [press-release]

Ous Mal / Bedroom Bear -- split -- MC -- €5
2011 Full Of Nothing, fon21, (ltd. 100)
A split cassette of endless beauty as channelled through young Finnish / Russian sound artists. Ous Mal is Olli from Oulu, now living in Helsinki. If you have slept on his early CDrs and the Preservation full-length – do your ears a favour and find this music asap. Ous Mal’s approach is very rich and his melodies and compositions are heartbreakingly sweet. Sampled thrift vinyls and tapes, keys and strings and chanting build up into impressive ambient folk collage. On the B side there is some raw and crispy synth magic from Koltushi village, near Saint Petersburg. Sergei’s sound is direct and his tracks are melancholic yet hopeful. Quiet field recordings meet nostalgic electropiano looping and occasional blasting FX attack. This record has been in heavy rotation since the very day we received the masters and we don’t seem to grow tired of it. So rad! Spray-painted cassettes, “sand” J-cards illustrated by Anya Kuts. Edition of 100. [press-release]

2011 Full Of Nothing, fon26, (ltd. 50)
A fresh and vibrant stream coming from Petrozavodsk, Karelia, thanks to our dear local provider. This album has been recorded over an old tape, pressing REC/STOP any time Sasha felt like. Not really bothering to calculate track/side lengths, there’s no soundwork either (except the lowest-finest). No clear concept throughtout the record, all tracks are first takes. Delayed guitar compositions erupt into creepy organ washes, interrupted by poppy instrumentals with Ariel Pinkish cardboard drumming and even a raga-esque acoustic guitar piece. Are we alright? Cassettes with Naples yellow/orange covers with drawings by the artist himself. [press-release]

Asmorod -- "Hysope" -- CD -- €15
2006 Steinklang Industries, SKD 12
A fascinating introspective deep ambient work that distinguished itself from the mass of uniformized dark ambient releases. Niiko (now the only member of Asmorod) used the word Hysope (French word for Hyssop) as a symbolism of spiritual purification. In ancient times, Hyssop was used for the cleansing of lepers (Leprosy may represent sin... but lepers were not necessarily sinful) and used for cleaning sacred places. It is alluded to in the Scriptures: 'Purge me with Hyssop, and I shall be clean' (Purify me from my sins, and i will be clean; wash me, and i will be whiter than snow. Psalms 51:7). Two tracks from that album feature choirs by eLL from Sui Generis Umbra. [press release]

Two years after the highly acclaimed „Sperrstelle Nordost“ album the mighty ATOMTRAKT are back with a new bombastic, martial, heroic and apocalyptic Industrial release which is entitled „Artefakte des Verderbens“. The album spreads a superior and cold atmosphere and deals with the Battle of Stalingrad (2nd World War). As on “Sperrstelle Nordost”, cold, heroic and atmospheric synthesizer layers are mixed with bombastic drums and military war-like rhythm patterns. The vocals on the new record vary from dark and clean to distorted and threatening. The overall sound of the album is powerful and bombastic – it spreads a superior and mighty atmosphere rarely heard before. The lyrics deal with fears, death, decay and ambiguity. When listening to this sophisticated album, you can find yourself on the battlefield in Stalingrad. The album itself never gets boring - This is due to the variety of songs and themes. The album is available in a 6-panel DIGIPAK and it was recorded and mastered at Luftschutzkerker Studio in Switzerland. [press-release]

Bad Sector -- "Plasma" -- CD -- €13
1998 Old Europa Cafe, OECD 011, 2nd edition
If "Ampos" is the "plastic" masterpiece by Bad Sector this is the "surgerical" masterpice by the Italian industrial master! great conceptual work! sound sources: Magnetosphere, Vostok + Salyut + Soyuz original recordings, Pulsar, High Voltage, Neon... all this sounds are building a unique powerful & pulsing sound sculpture, a great mind experience! The cover presents a series of interesting "electricity / energy" photos! Second print with a new full color re-worked cover! [press-release]

Bad Sector / Contagious Orgasm -- "Vacuum Pulse" -- CD -- €13
2000 Old Europa Cafe, OECD 032
"...From a mere description, this could end up sounding like every other drone and ambient noise release you own, but the fact is that nothing can account for the sheer depth and richness of the sounds on offer here. Everything has an almost organic quality to it, the drones sounding so liquid and deep that they take on a life of their own, both separate and a part of their generative technology - an otherworldly symbiosis of life and machine that stems directly from science fiction. It is hard to distinguish the two different artists' efforts from one another, as their approaches to sound and composition are so alike, especially when focussed towards this common theme. It is, then, almost the perfect collaboration, each artists' talents serving to enhance the other's and producing a work that is not far removed from their usual output, but that has that elusive X-factor of genius and serendipity that quickly ranks this as a classic of modern music. Nearly indescribable, highly recommended." [Gavin Lees, Immanence Records]

Bad Sector & Tommaso Lisa -- "Reset / Rebis Periferiche" -- CD + book -- €15
2005 Old Europa Cafe, OECD 075
For this release Massimo Magrini was joined by the Italian cyberzone-writer Tommaso Lisa. So the album was recorded as conceptual reference to Tom's "Italian neuro-poems" collection "Rebis". Short spoken fragments of the texts are treated and inserted in a sonic structure built with minimal, strangely sincopated pseudo-rytmhs and sharp pulsing noises. The effect of those spoken texts is really disqieting, a very severe & obscure release different from all previous Bad Sector albums. In the background, Bad Sector's trademark chilling micro-melodies completes an upsetting, allucinated but crude vision of our "Collapsing Civilization". The CD is packed inside a book cover, the book contains Tom's neo-futuristic & cyber-poetry. [label info]

Banana Pill / Calypso Borealis -- split -- MC -- €5
2011 Full Of Nothing, fon24, (ltd. 100)
On the reversed-pyramid-side of this tape you will find Banana Pill, a young Russian-Finnish family residing in Helsinki. You kind of know what to expect already, right? Their drones are fragile and nostalgic. Layered melodic pieces, cascading synth patterns, violin and guitar and a little bit of delayed pizzicato grooving. A purest emotion shining though the sound. As simple and as cool as that. The lone French psych-head Calypso Borealis is occupying the paper-plane-side. Kindest, softest, yet murky as mist compositions bring the coolest evening sofa experiences. Chilling mix of synths, field recordings, kalimba - one can only guess what else. We don't even know this guy's name but the stuff he's been putting out is top notch! Each cassette comes with a tiny 8-page zine with drawings by Ivan. There are many color variations. [label info]

Bardoseneticcube -- "Naegleria Fowlery" -- CD -- €10
2007 Blade Records, wmda071, (ltd. 300)
This strange and extremely varied disc opens with a track which whirls in and out of The Caretaker’s “Haunted Ballroom”-style samples with piercing electronics. Moving onwards we encounter dense rhythmic industrial pieces and experimental electronics - all the while chasing the thread of eccentric samples and searing white noise. Limited to just 300 hand-numbered copies in an outsized foldout package. A great, if unusual, piece from the Russian outfit. [Cold Spring]

Bianchi, Maurizio / Peter Andersson - Henrik Nordvargr Björkk - Jarl -- "S.F.A.G. / S.F.A.G. De-Composed" -- 2 CD -- €17
2010 Old Europa Cafe, OECD 134
ANTE-FACTS: After the disintegrative period of my production (from “Symphony for a Genocide” to “Das Testament”), the purchase of a misanthropic echo-machine and the consequent decay of the electric-analogue machinery, my efforts was redirected to a pre-recording sound sublimation, so I started to re-compose the electronic metastasis of early times, filtering through dehumanizing effects of the echo-machine, keeping attention particularly to the explanatory process of my ancestral subjectivism. FACTS: The modulatory shaking of S.F.A.G is the oxygenating prelude to the irradiating bionic music later developed through levigating works such as “Endometrio” and “Carcinosi” and represents a milestone in my pre-apocalyptic production which later will culminate into the horrid of “Armaghedon”. The exegesis of this work reflects a strong attachment to smooth and round effects of the roughness of the frantic early days, but with a constant preference for the symbiosis between well preordered sound masses and not well defined radio broadcasts, like nebulae drifting in a space in trembling condensation. POST-FACTS: The interest of Gary Mundy of the British “Broken Flag” label (who later would have released the esoteric "The Plain Truth") gave me the incentive to make him listen to the demo tape which was of his liking so that in January 1983 he decided to publish the album as a tape with the title "SFAG 1981" (the year relates to the link with the date of the beginning of my vinyl production). In the early 90's Tegal Records was releasing a non-authorised "truncated" version on CD, but this new version of OEC maintains the integrity of the entire work and was completely digitally remastered by Peter Andersson (Raison D’etre). [Maurizio Bianchi] The original album is accompanied by a second CD with 3 de-compositions using extracts of the original S.F.A.G. recordings done by 3 well known Nordic industrial artists: Peter Andersson (Raison D'Etre), Henrik Nordvargr Björkk (MZ.412), Erik Jarl (IRM). The whole is coming in a nice vintage packaging reminding to the first Industrial/Vinyl era: Gatefold cover as the old vinyl covers but CD sized and vinyl-look CD's. [label info]

Birch Book -- "Fortune & Folly" -- CD -- €16

A side-project of In Gowan Ring. Drifting away from the overtly psychedelic, medieval, and soporific atmosphere which typified In Gowan Ring, B’ee displays a more organic, individualistic approach to songwriting. Fortune & Folly blends elements of idiosyncratic folk-pop and outcast-country with brooding layers of sound and sense, yielding a spectral ethereality in a captivating chiaroscuro thick with the visionary allusions of a haunted wanderer. Claustrum & Traur Zot -- "Returning to the Past by Silence" -- CD -- €13
2004 Old Europa Cafe, OECD 071
A requiem to the past century, whose peace has been buried under the layers of asphalt, glass and steel, under human indifference and soullessness, under the false values... Combative Alignment -- "…And Outside Glows The Red Dawn" -- CD -- €15
2005 Malignant Records, TumorCD24, (ltd. 100)
After several releases, including full length vinyl releases on LOKI and their own label Avatar, and a 7" on Eternal Soul, the first full length CD from this powerful and visionary German project on US label Malignant now. Can perhaps be seen as Combative Alignments benchmark, offering 6 tracks that work as a virtual musical thoroughfare to a more dreamlike, illusory state. Deeply brooding atmospheres, where omniscient layers of drones and reverberating sound currents meet measured, ritual percussion as performed under the glowing, gloomy haze of a primordial sunrise. And Outside Glows the Red Dawn shines a dim light on a world of obscure origin, full of dark Germanic mysticism and unearthly sonic terrain. On a whole, this is a more focused, deeper, and fluid recording than you've heard before, yet triumphantly carrying on the tradition laid down by previous releases. [press-release]

Darkwood -- "Notwendfeuer" -- CD -- €15
Heidenvolk, HV 10
Darkwood proved to be one of the most prolific and outstanding German neofolk bands. This upcoming studio album is certainly the most forceful recording so far. It combines martial acoustic songs and dark folk tunes, using acoustic sources like guitars, classical instruments, organic drums, and distorted basses. The 10 tracks dedicated to Youth & Fire are the perfect soundtrack for Winter Solstice. They shall evoke the burning need for a great change, forcing hands into hands. The standards already high after "Flammende Welt" and "Herbstgewölk" are even set higher now. [press release]

Desiderii Marginis -- "Procession" -- CD -- €15
2012 Cyclic Law, 48th Cycle, (ltd. 1000)
"Procession" heralds the reawakening of the acclaimed swedish dark ambient project Desiderii Marginis, an album that sounds at the same time warmingly familiar and inspiringly new. While Desiderii Marginis is perhaps not as prolific as some other acts, it's "quality over quantity" motto always makes it well worth the wait and this is certainly no exception. The eight pieces that make up this new album stand firmly on their own, and yet form an even more remarkable whole. Johan Levin envokes a grand soundscape, beneath the faded remnants of the celestial spheres where timbres have space to grow, evolve and reflect off each other, a sombre, melancholic thoughtfullness, a calm to dwell in, and long back to. The atmosphere of the album is not that of solid darkness, or an abyss opening beneath you, but rather a wintery pale, grey dusk casting long, sweeping shadows. A haze that makes you uncertain if it’s really getting lighter or darker. We're honored to welcome Johan Levin's long standing project to the ever expanding Cyclic Law family. Edition of 1000 copies in 6 panel Digipack. [press-release]

Screaming vocals, harsh analogue filter sweeps, pulsing distorted sines and squares... Folkstorm has never sounded this angry and mean. Maybe it is a reflection of the current state of things - regression, massunemployment and a corrupt financial system about to implode. Ortodox is a return to the fine tradition of making music all analogue - no computers, no sequencers or modern trickery. A pure celebration of classic Swedish Industrial music, and a protector of values that are about to be lost. [label info]

Herbst9 -- "Usumgal Kalamma" -- 2 CD -- €21
2011 Loki Foundation, LOKI 56
What began with the previous releases, "Buried Under Time and Sand" and "The Gods Are Small Birds..." comes now to the final chapter and climax, with an epic double album, Usumgal Kalamma: "The written word that has come down to us through the discovery of the ancient civilizations of Sumer and Akkad and the deciphering of their languages and writing systems speaks of flourishing city-states, their holy places, their great rulers, their deeds in peace and war, their gods and demons, their rituals, their tales of creation and much more." Usumgal Kalamma is a huge and rich soundwork, divided into two parts that transport the listener into the realms of the archaic world. It is an invitation to explore a mythic age in history whereby the inventions of these people are still connected with us today. Intense ritualistic and percussive drumming melt with deep atmospheric drones, invocations, otherwordly tones and various acoustic instruments such as gongs, bells and zither. This sonic prayer is Herbst9's trademark of a ritual infused dark ambient style and an essential document that combines historical background with sound art. Comes in a box with a 32-pages booklet. Inade -- "Samadhi State" -- CD -- €15
2006/2008 Loki Foundation, LOKI 41
A Japanese edition of collected studio works from the last years, recorded during several sessions and rehearsals at the Light Channel. Remixed, re-constructed and re-edited in 2005. This release was accompaning the Spring Equinoxe concert in Tokyo and is now available outside of Japan as well. "Samadhi State" is illuminating the space of reality and the luminous arcs of dreams. Samadhi is a over-conscious experience that lies beyond waking, dreaming, and deep sleep. The realisation made in Samadhi is numinous realisation. A perfect condition in vigil, a condition of absolute consciousness. It is the final goal of everything and the highest form of self-possession, in the sense of collecting all the faculties of the constitution towards reaching union or quasi-union, long or short in time as the case may be, with the divine-spiritualЕ Life in the spirit is not fading. If the restrictions of the empirical being are exceeded, the universal life is intensified. The life becomes cosmical and even hypercosmical. The Samadhi State is neither guards nor dreams it is the fourth dimension, where the infinite eternity prevails. [press-release]

IRM -- "Red Album" -- CD -- €13
1999/2010 Autarkeia, acd 054, (ltd. 500)
To celebrate that a decade has passed since the release of the IRM "Red Album" LP, a CD reissue is now presented by Autarkeia. Martin Bladh and Erik Jarl had already known eachother for a few years when they began their mission as IRM in 1997. Fuelled by the rage of sonic power-houses like Whitehouse and Brighter Death Now, they recorded a demo tape that landed them a deal with Cold Meat Industry. Immediately upon its arrival, "The Red Album" was met by great enthusiasm as it breathed new life in a genre gone quite stagnant at the time. The sound displayed a unique amalgamation of Jarl's analogue bass-heavy eruptions, and Bladh's revelatory lyrics/vocals which were thematically more aligned with the apocalyptic preachings of Michael Gira and Nick Cave than the confrontationalism of William Bennett. Also the monochrome cover designs that IRM chose to work with stood in stark contrast to the cheap shock tactics that had infested the power electronics scene for so long. On subsequent landmark albums such as "Oedipus Dethroned" and "Virgin Mind" IRM honed their sound and dug deeper into the maze of the human psyche, while in parallell both Bladh and Jarl have explored new aestetic avenues with diverse solo projects. Now when looking back, it is perfectly clear that IRM have fulfilled and surpassed all the expectations that the release of "The Red Album" promised. More than ten years down the road, the adolescent debutants have become the revered minstrels of industrial gospel. [press-release]

Jarl -- "Vertigo Emission" -- CD -- €13
2009 Autarkeia, acd 045, (ltd. 200)
Vertigo Emission, the twelfth album of Erik Jarl, this Swedish genius of sound construction, is a logical continuation of his earlier works. The composer remains loyal to the style he propagates. Slow, very heavy and dismal sound waves grip the listeners and take them into the colourless, uncanny and morbid world. Like the previous ones, this album reminds a person who could earlier see the colours but became colour blind and in order to adapt to the new situation has to understand familiar yet irreversibly changed signs anew. The aesthetics of Erik Jarl's sonic decoration is like always very austere and merciless, however, it is marked by endless charm resulting from especially sensitive and subtle construction. Regular edition in digipak, limited to 200 copies. [press-release]

Maldur Atai -- "Verger" -- CD -- €13
2011 Autarkeia, acd 060, (ltd. 300)
History is falsified. Facts are fiercely distorted, while the reasons for that are hidden with even more ferocity. A powerful network of a secret organisation creates phantasmagorical projection that has nothing to do with reality. Official explanations for the millions of people killed during the Second World War and the official causes of this war smack of absolute farce, while the political leaders have never existed in the first place. These were new generation 4D holograms. The actual war causes are concealed by a formidable conspiracy and lie in the pre-Buddhist epoch, the history of Maldur Atai puzzle. Although concealed so vigorously, the true causes of the Second World War and all other wars have been far from economic or political. They have to do with religion, the old Maldur Atai cult and the anticipated second Resurrection. According to the conspiracy, those building the falsified hologram of the world do everything to prevent the prophesy from happening and the ancient cult from returning as predicted. They do not want the truth to be disclosed. They seek the reference and the element containing the encoded signs of its Revelation. It is suspected that the main obstruction of time machines and projector of holograms is hidden in deep labyrinths under one of the small countries that has been responsible for the Crusades of the ancient times as well as all invasive wars. Indeed strange events took place on the threshold of the Second World War, the bloodiest war in human history. A secret leader has rallied all his agents and they have performed some kind of special ritual, the purpose of which is not known until today. A number of signs were seen and then the war raged with lethal outcomes. The truth remained hidden. What does the leader conceal from us? And, after all, who is he? What will his next ritual bring forth? The rebirth of Maldur Atai cult or the Third World War? MALDUR ATAI’s album Verger is exactly about all of this. [press-release]

Necrophorus -- "Drifting In Motion" -- CD -- €15
2000/2008 Old Europa Cafe, OECD 104
”Arctic ambience, melting with imagination, leads the listener to the frozen tundra at the top of the world. This rarely explored land, resonant with a shimmering radiance that is bleak, barren and mysterious, is distinguished by slivers of fantastical nuances that twinkle like crystals under the midnight sun.” The above quotation was taken from a review of the original CD release of ’Drifting in Motion’ (2000 on Crowd Control Activities). Now, 8 years later it is time for an enhanced re-release for even more refined sound and experience of ’Drifting in Motion’. The entire album has been carefully re-mixed in 2007 and has been spiced with 3 more nuances... Peter Andersson is a multi-talented man most famous for his RAISON D'ETRE project on the notorious label Cold Meat Industry LABEL but he is also are responisble for music projetcs like Stratvm Terror, Bocksholm, Atomine Elektrine, Panzar and many more. For this new release, two artists, Maria Gullqvist (Sweden) and Eva Verholen (Holland) has been asked to contribute with their own impressions of experiencing ’Drifting in Motion’. Their amazing works are presented on the completely new designed CD artwork in a six panels digipak. Composed by Peter Andersson in 1998-1999, except track 7 (2001), track 8 (2006) and track 9 (1991). All tracks re-mixed in 2007. [label info]

Necrophorus -- "Imprints" -- CD -- €10
2007 Wrotycz Records, WRT 006
Beautiful, sensitive and electrified. 'Imprints' by Necrophorus goes beyond the previous album 'elinros' (2005) and further investigates the aural landscape of imagination and mysticism. 'Imprints' vibrates a fresh air mixed of three dimensional electrified organic field recordings and minimal immersive sequenced organ sounds thus creating the psychedelic atmosphere of virtually being inside the music, inside the magic circle of the aural landscape. 'Imprints' is the fifth CD album from Necrophorus/Peter Andersson (Sweden) who is most known for the project raison d'etre with several masterpiece releases on the Swedish legendary Cold Meat Industry label. Inspired by the impressions of his visit to the amazing landscapes of Iceland summer 2006, Peter Andersson has created a new astonishing aural output. 'Imprints' consists of three variations of the same impression: two of them are pure studio composisitons while the third variation is improvised as 'live in studio' recording. [press-release]

New Risen Throne -- "Crossing The Withered Regions" -- CD -- €15
2009 Cold Meat Industry, CMI193
The sole member of New Risen Throne is known as Stielh, and is one of the Grand Masters of the blackened dark ambient coming from Italy recently (see also Vestigial). His exceptional black foreboding ambient creations is wellknown in the scene by now. The previous NRT release "Whispers of the approaching wastefulness" (Cyclic Law) represented the steps leading to the acknowledgment of the approaching end of all things... This new chapter "Crossing the withered Regions" is the journey thru wasted "regions" of our inner self, withered by our doubts, thoughts and fear about the end. This is the soundtrack to the world we live and experience at the very present. This is utterly dark! and there is certainly no sun in the horizon. Slit your wrists and float away... The CD is an enhanced CD with a special video-track and comes in a 6-panel digipak. [press-release]

Novy Svet -- "Faccia a Faccia" -- CD -- €15
1998/2006 The Nekofutschata Musick Cabaret, neko 17
Unavailable for some years, "Faccia a Faccia", NOVY SVET's second album, stands out as a classic from the late 90's post-industrial explosion. First issued by the now defunct british WSD label, here's this influential album now in new artwork and with a different ghost track from the same sessions. Foggy music and scratched melodies make up this CD that once was named the best release to commit suicide to. In other words: just beautiful. [label info]

Novy Svet -- "Fin. Finito. Infinito" -- CD -- €15
2004/2006 The Nekofutschata Musick Cabaret, neko 16
Even within the enigmatic discography of NOVY SVET the album FIN. FINITO. INFINITO takes a special place. The original 12" coming in an edition of 77 copies only offered nothing more than the title in embossed red letters - the rest was all blackness. The group's comments to this major work summed up to complete silence, which opened space for a mass of partly obscure interpretations. For sure this album was conceived as a good-bye, finding a climax in the suicidal title track. Rare example of a cult item coming up to the listener's expectations for the first time on digital format. [label info]

Phelios -- "Astral Unity" -- CD -- €15
2010 Malignant Records, TUMOR CD 44
Following two CDs on Eternal Soul and a recent split LP on LOKI, Germany’s revered dark ambient project Phelios makes their first appearance for Malignant. With its swirling cosmic drones and sweeping, cinematic drift, the music of Phelios is breathtaking and hypnotic, often evoking moments of serenity and beauty, yet spiking them with deep cushions of ritualistic percussion and textural squalls that suggest something much more ominous and threatening looms on the vast horizon. Collectively, Astral Unity is thoughtful and concise – a vivid and richly detailed entity that’s alive and constantly evolving, channeling the universe while simultaneously exploring the inner regions of a more primordial earth. In 6 panel digipak, with gold foil stamping. [press-release]

Rich, Robert -- "Bestiary" -- CD -- €12
2001 Release Entertainment, RR6514-2
Medieval bestiaries depicted strange and mysterious creatures, allegories from distant new lands filled with wonders. Today, these new worlds lie inwards; so this musical bestiary maps a perplexing mindscape, shapeshifting organisms painted in sound, a sonic surrealism. Like the liquid forms that populate the paintings of Yves Tanguy or Joan Miro, each sonic event takes on the qualities of a living thing; yet each appears evanescent, unnameable and foreign. Bestiary is rhythmic, energetic, bizarre and very glurpy. It's filled with mutated electronic textures from the MOTM analog modular synthesizer, granular synthesis, chaotic feedback systems and formant filtering, and peppered with twisted contributions from Forrest Fang, Andrew McGowan, and Haroun Serang. Cover art is by John Bergin. [CD Baby]

Rich, Robert -- "Calling Down the Sky" -- CD -- €12
2004 Soundscape, SP006
Heavy weather tailed me during Summer 2003, as I circled the country giving concerts. From wind storms in the desert to tornadoes in the Midwest, flooding in the East and lightning on the high plains, the sky exerted its influence. All came into focus during this improvised house concert in Denver, a journey joined by a circle of 26 friends. A dialog between music and the elements took form like a shamanic exchange, an act of supplication in respect to stronger forces, calling down the sky to return a gift from the clouds. [from the author]

Rich, Robert -- "Open Window" -- CD -- €12
2004 Soundscape, SP007
While better known for his electronic textures, Robert Rich often includes piano solos during his live concerts. Open Window documents his improvisational approach to acoustic piano, with influences ranging from Alan Hovhannes, G.I. Gurdjieff and Erik Satie to Terry Riley and Keith Jarrett. Rich chose to record Open Window on his own 1925 vintage A.B. Chase baby grand, an instrument with a more intimate sound than a full-size concert piano. Over a period of two months, he kept a daily schedule of piano improvisation, with microphones set up to record at all times. The pieces selected here reflect special moments during this concentrated period. These were the moments when effort vanished, and the music seemed to write itself. [press-release]

Roma Amor -- "Femmina" -- CD -- €15
2009 Old Europa Cafe, OECD 122
Second album by this intriguing Italian Noir-Cabaret project. 10 songs that celebrate the feminine dark side in all its guises. Italian and dialect lyrics, mostly inspired by female figures of Mediterranean folklore, that deal with the most hidden, sombre, melancholic and romantic aspects of the feminine universe. The aged music of old Europa, with its tango, waltz and cabaret motives, is the soundtrack and the vocalist sounds like she’s putting a lot of wear and tear on her throat in order to render the mood of these combative, bad, scary, deep passionate women. Warm latin stuff for late night listening. [press-release]

ROME -- "Nera" -- CD -- €16
2006/2010 [Trisol] Music Group GmbH, TRI 392 CD
ROME was founded in 2005 as a main output for the songs of Jerome Reuter, Luxembourg. Long time since a debut album was so eagerly awaited as by ROME, and Nera, which is the title of this brilliant piece, is "black" indeed. The atmosphere weighs heavy on the soul - a burden of flowers. However, ROME manages to include warmth and affection in its cold world of steel. The main characters in this language of lurking are defeated men - not unschooled by pain - in seedy places. ROME songs are full of citations, abstractions and ideals. The marching and counter-marching of doubtful armies luring our love away, with licit grace, icy and bitter irony. Gentle phantasms of desire. The reversal of sympathies. The aspects of eternity, spiritual hunger, treachery and corruption, shame and honour - being more than mere traps for the unsophisticated. These are some of Nera's interlocking themes in a world scorched by the wastefulness and cruelty of war. Nera is the meticulous patience of rage. Get it now and make it your friend, before it devours you. [press-release by Cold Meat Industry]

S.E.T.I. -- "Baikal" -- CD -- €15
2011 Power & Steel, PAS 31
The aural world of BAIKAL evokes a crystalline landscape full of huge and breathtaking images, guiding the listener to arcane places, lakes and steppes. This new output of Andrew Lagowski aka S.E.T.I. is the result of the examination with the idea of old and sunken crafts being hidden in lakes while surfacing through the water in abandoned areas where only few people would live and survive. The album contains ten powerful songs combining heroic traditional music and beautiful folk-ballads, sometimes even with a slight avantgardistic touch. The artists perfectly play a large variety of early traditional instruments, blended with electrical sounds and mesmerizing psychedelic arrangements. Sinke Dus -- "Akrasia" -- CD -- €15
2007 Cyclic Law, 19th Cycle
Akrasia is an old question dealing with the weakness of the will. To behave "akratically" is when one acts against his better judgement, committing acts that are known to be wrong but yet still going through with the motion. Markus Lonebrink wanted to explore not so much the philosophical issues at hand, but rather the subjective experience of akrasia itself. To learn of the underlying motives of when one acts akratically. Certain events in the akratic process felt natural to him and it was those he tried to integrate into these soundscapes. There are no conclusions described in the music, but there might be a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel and perhaps the shadow of a hint of why we humans sometimes act as irrationally as we do. A shared quest to gain better knowledge of oneself through this self-revisionistic ambient journey filled with ethereally lush passages that give way to a truly visionary and immersive experience. The album also features a special collaboration with Par Bostrom of KAMMARHEIT. In fold out gatefold cardboard sleeve. [press-release]

Svarrogh -- "Balkan Renaissance" -- CD -- €15
2007 Ahnstern, Ahnstern24, (ltd. 500)
The Bulgarian Black Folklore ensemble Svarrogh of Dimo Dimov has recorded another masterpiece of Ritual Folk music. "Balkan Renaissance" is already the 4th Svarrogh album under the banner of the God of the Sun. This mystic sound-journey drags you along to the ancient heart of the Balkan mountains, its caves, rivers, villages and people with their deep mythological roots. Svarrogh's sound is absolutely unique, not only because of the beautiful mandoline-playing and the bagpipes, mixed with droning synths, which envocate the return of the Sun. Svarrogh creates a musical look through a grey window to discover the dark past of Bulgaria's 19th century and its Renaissance, after years of Osman opression. On "Balkan Renaissance" you can listen to original passages of famous Bulgarian poets and artists like Dora Gabe, Elisaveta Bagryan, Elin Pelin, Dimitar Talev or the amazing poems of Ivan Vazov. On this album, Dimo Dimov also pays a tribute to the genious music of Allerseelen with the song "Kamerad". And as a special feature, the CD will also contain a so called Martenitsi. Martenitsa is a Bulgarian heathen/pagan tradition related to March 1, which has its origin in the establishment of the Bulgarian state in 681 AD. Mart is the Bulgarian word for "March". According to Bulgarian folklore, the month March marks the beginning of springtime. Therefore, the first day of March is a traditional holiday associated with sending off the winter and welcoming the spring. Key-figures in these ancient traditional rites are the Kukeri, the demons who banish winter and invite spring and fertility. The Kukeri are the Balkan counterpart to the Austrian and south Bavarian Perchten. This album is full of traditional-, pagan- and ritual Folk music, Neo-Classical songs, Martial drummings and it has even some Industrial moments. [press release]

Troum -- "Grote Mandrenke" -- CD -- €15
2012 Beta-lactam Ring Records, mt238, (ltd. 1000)
“Grote Mandrenke” is definitely a Troum with a view. The title refers to a massive Atlantic storm that killed upwards of 25,000 Europeans in the mid 14th century (about a decade after the plague showed up. HOORAY!). Troum, of course, bathe their devastating subject in swelling waves of melodic drone and sea-walls of sound. Appropriately, “Grote Mandrenke” is cinematic and melancholy; anthemic and brooding, and distinctly shoegaze, but in a way that you can look up, and you still see shoes. And bodies, floating in a foamy miasma of silted water and fish guts. In fact, this should be on a label called 5AD, because this is one awesomer. Buzzsaw ambience and measured percussive breaths comprise a perfect soundtrack for nature's dominion over man... An aural hallucination on the events that occurred January 15-17, 1362 at the Friesian North Sea coast. This is the studio-version of a live event performed throughout 2008 & 2009, with live-visuals by Brian Traylor. First live performance: Antwerp (BE), Jan 26, 2008 at Nuit & Brouillard festival. Last live performance: Torun (PL) March 27, 2009 at CocArt festival. Final mix: May 2011. First edition of 1000 copies in a custom made book bound gatefold sleeve and full color insert. The works were released for their European tour in editions of only 100 each and sold out fast. Now those impossible-to-find, extremely limited releases are finally available on factory-pressed CD’s! Old Europa Cafe of Italy has re-released Emergence & Immersion in a fine 2-CD 4 page full-color digifolder, re- mastered with a new bonus track, “Peacock Symphony”, offering 2 and a half hours of music. Wildness, beauty, humor, darkness, fear, horror, yearning, grief and vast spaciousness inhabit this mysterious lively music. Herein one finds some of the source material for their recent live shows: “Immersion”, “Dark Ritual”, “The Gates of Oblivion”, “Free”. Vresnit is the project of one man working for artistic embodiment of the creative rotation within the label Vetvei. He was formerly known as ruler of Kerpg label, Pugna, Vagranok, Nrodum and other projects, now ceased their activities. Deaf thickets and swamps, heaven ravines, lost voices, unseen birds. Eternal mosses, lichens, fog and ancient trees. The path lies deeply through the thickets and higher to the sun, meeting with ancient human-animals, keepers of the Book. Majestic and archaic canvas neither begins nor ends, woven by the Sledge of Three-Worlds-Animals. The Words of scratches, beats, rings and rustles - all goes into vibrating flow of crudely woven muscarinic Shamanic Drone Ambient atmosphere. Tunvet appears as primitive experience for co-breathing with Earth, diving into the twilight forest and flowing into its beyond. Slow and endless movement in a Circle that appears as Eternal Order. A Myth of the World-Man Creation, a dreamflight, a meeting with the Forest Spirits preying on the flesh and substituting it with metal and stones, giving life to the Ancient Co-knowledge... Created using field recordings, voices and woodwinds, metal gongs, percussion and "concrete" sounds. Gripping, saturating and transforming experience of raw wind, celestial chariots and chthonic naturalism. [press-release]

Waldteufel -- "Sanguis" -- CD -- €18
2007 Beta-lactam Ring Records, mt069, (ltd. 900)
After more than three years of research & development, WALDTEUFEL finally deliver their new opus: SANGUIS. First conceived as a 12”, it has since blossomed into a full-length album. SANGUIS features lyrics by two nearly forgotten German personalities – Stefan George & Alfred Schuler, who can be considered the two opposite poles of the ‘Cosmic Circle,’ a group of mystically inclined German authors that were active in Fin de Siecle Munich– as well as lyrical fragments from the ancient Indian Vedas. Musically, it runs the gamut from dense hypnotic atmospheres, ritual passages to metallic chants and triumphant percussion-heavy hymns. It is the most adventurous and varied WALDTEUFEL work so far, and expands and deepens the themes explored in the first album “Heimliches Deutschland.” The instruments used include everything from accordeon, violin, wood percussion, horns to electric guitar, Moog synthesizer and that most archaic instrument of all: the voice. SANGUIS intends to focus the listener’s attention on the realm that lies beyond all appearances, a radiance which is mirrored in our most elemental selves: the essence of breath and blood that surrounds our spiritual core. SANGUIS was entirely recorded by Markus Wolff and Tyrsson Sinclair. Wolff has had a long musical career as a drummer/visual artist of the legendary percussion/performance collective CRASH WORSHIP. He has also been a live drummer/percussionist for many friends, including SORIAH, IN GOWAN RING, BLOOD AXIS, WITCH-HUNT, ALLERSEELEN, and CHANGES as well as the drummer on the ALETHES “Aletheia” album. He is currently also active with Black Metal formation L’ACEPHALE and the experimental chamber musick ensemble A MINORITY OF ONE. In ages past, Tyrsson Sinclair commandeered the extreme metal entity WARHATE. His current solo-project is NORTHMAN and he is also developing a new project called HAMRAMR. First ed. of 900 copies in a smoking hot full color book bound gatefold case and 8 page lyric booklet. [label info]

Wander -- "s/t" -- CD -- €8
2005 Small Voices, SVR05015, (ltd. 600)
Wander are Freek Kinkelaar and Frans de Waard, also known as Beequeen. Since changing Beequeen's musical direction in the summer of 2000 (drones out and 'popmusic' in). However, since they both love drone music, they founded Wander in 2001. In Wander they explore drone music in it's widest possible form, with each new release exploring a specific concept. Wander will release their music on various formats, but every format only once. Each release is called Wander, and there is a total absense of any information on the cover. So far they have released a 10" on their own Plinkity Plonk label, a LP for En/Of, a split 7" on Plinkity Plonk (a split single with Beequeen), a CDR on XZF and a 7" on Edition... and a forthcoming split 7" recorded in collaboration with Andrew Liles. The material was recorded in the analogue studio Geluidswerkplaats Extrapool in late 2004 and early 2005, using a wide variety of vintage synthesizers (juno 60, korg MS20, roland SH 102 and Arp synthesizer) and a Philicordia organ. The four long pieces breath an atmospheric, pastoral sound of slow and deep evolving drones. The CD was mastered by Raymond Steeg of The Legendary Pink Dots' fame. The images on the cover and the disc were made with the help of Elise de Waard. Released in a special cardboard package with varnished images. [press-release]

Werkraum -- "Kristalle" -- CD EP -- €8
2005 Ahnstern, Ahnstern 10
The new mini-album of WERKRAUM is not only fascinating because of it's gracile perfection in composition and musical virtuosity, but also through it's musical diversity, supportet by Nicholas Tesluk and Robert Taylor (CHANGES), by Nick Nedzinsky (LADY MORPHIA) and by Antje Hoppenrath. Fulfilled with traditional melodies and psychedelic moments, WERKRAUM guides the listener in a magical world of acoustic sounds and picturesque poetry, telling from ancient fairiedays. The 6 beautiful Folk-songs of this mini-album together fill handsome 32 minutes. [label info]

V/A -- "Pere Lachaise" -- CD -- €15
2006 Steinklang Industries, SKD 19 / Divine Comedy, DC045, (ltd. 500)
A great compilation of dark and neoclassical music, dedicated to Père-Lachaise cemetery, which is one of the most romantic and mysterious places in this holy world. It's also an unmissable reference in gloomy and cinematic "tragical" culture. Together, Steinklang & Divine Comedy Records are producing a tribute to this worldwide and legendary atmospheric icon. This musical journey is depicted by four top bands (with two tracks each) from the new emerging Dark-Ambiant and Neo-Symphonic scene: HOROLOGIUM; PROJECT WINTER and ARTEFACTUM from Poland completed by FOUNDATION HOPE from the Netherlands. The mood is dark, menacing and epic at time with Horologium being the most martial act. "Paradise One" symbolises a passage from life to death surrounded by fading memories from different areas and destinies. The CD is packed in a beautiful book with full pages sepia pictures by Fabrice Billard, known for his previous pictures and illustrations for DCR releases and bands such as Sonne Hagal. Art and history beyond the graves. Père-Lachaise is a feeric and beautiful place. A place you'll need a whole existence to know "tous les coins et recoins". [press-release]
