Barabino, Federico & Vitaly Maklakov -- "Fleur Light" -- CD-R -- €6
2008 Heart Shaped Box Prod., HSB-033, (ltd. 21)
"Fleur Light" is a collaborative work of argentinian guitar virtuoso Federico Barabino and russian industrial artist Vitaly Maklakov.
Vitaly has worked carefully with Federico's sound sources to create unique combination of acoustic guitar sounds and electronic ambiences. Three pieces consist of light and well-balanced material with a touch of melancholy and introversion. Musically it's a dense uneasy dark ambient mixed with sharp acoustic guitar samples. Two final tracks are remixed versions of the first piece called "Lentamente Sonando". These remixes were created by Dime[drone], a drone ambient side project of Galaxy The Incubator. [DNA Production]

Barbarossa Umtrunk -- "Der Talisman des Rosenkreuzers" -- CD -- €10
2012 Ufa Muzak, UFA 49, (ltd. 400)
Military pop / Ethereal neoclassic. We present the fundamental work by the French musical formation completely dedicated to the mysterious personality of Baron Rudolf von Sebottendorf and his work "Der Talisman des Rosenkreuzers" published in 1925 in Germany. One of the founders of powerful secret organisation "Thule Society", a member of Turkish masonic lodge "Order of Rose Wreath", a numerologist, an occultist, a Sufi practicioner with misty entangled fate - he fits very well for a subject of detailed study, and one of the forms of it is this album. Musically, you'll hear one of the most powerful combinations of martial, neoclassic and ambient. From the very first seconds it goes deep in the significant years of the XX century, grandiose flashes - slices of troublous times, exotic geographic locations, dangerous people, occult-war intrigues and famous mystical German movement. Walls of heavy drones, explosive drumming and songs of dervishes, sublime samples of classics and dark rhythms encoded by electronics, a whisper from the other world, making heart beat high. During all the long and comprehensive material there is an intuitive investigation of entangled weltanschauung of "the baron", a combination of sufism, masonry and aryosophy. 13 tracks, 70 minutes, 6 panel cardboard sleeve. Brandkommando –- "Three Strikes And You Are Out" -- CD -- €8
2011 Sickcore, SC23, (ltd. 300)
New work by restless Polish musician deals with European capitals burning in fires. City anarchy, street wars, violence and terror. The musician most likely stands at the same side of barricade with rebelling society, in front of which like soldiers of the Evil Empire stand up legions of dogs of system. Crushing analogue outrage of sonic violence, raging vocals, cultural and street terrorism. This release can be compared to such sonic hooligans as Grey Wolves, Barrikad, Survival Unit, etc. [UFA Muzak]

Burial Hex -- "Book Of Delusions" -- CD -- €10
2011/2012 Cold Spring, CSR166CD
During the period in which Clay Ruby first began working on this piece of art, he had become so completely surrounded by evil and deception that he was forced to begin summoning a particularly extreme and ancient force of protection and vitality just to make it alive through the end of 2008. Aside from spiritually fortifying Ruby's life, the complexities of these new elemental entities brought with them circumstances causing a much more rich and intense recording experience than he could have ever composed on his own. Classic horror electronics and post-industrial apocalyptic soundscapes with unsettling notes, anguished cries and voices of the dead. His most ritualistic album yet. Reissue of the extremely limited LP with bonus tracks taken from the split LPs with Kinit Her and Zola Jesus, all available on CD for the first time! All tracks have been carefully remastered. Carved Image Of Emptiness -- "Rust In Peace" -- CD-R -- €6
2004 Evil Dead Productions, EDP003
The album by Russian musician named Kein, whose fantasy wanders with pleasure through dark corners of never-ending industrial zone. During these strolls he's accompanied by Alexander "I" (Zinc Room), who provided sound samples and photos for the artwork. The whole album sounds as a varefully directed epic movie, combining both minimal atmospheric moments and powerful rhythmic industrial symphonies with mechanically looped guitar riffs and soloing rusty metal. The album was recorded without any computers.

Dasein / Dadhikra -- split -- CD-R -- €7
2012 Valgriind, VG 50
A split of two brother projects from Moscow and Ingria. Dasein presented one long track of gloomy Drone Noise Ambient with the atmosphere of industrial abandonment. Dadhikra opens its half with a lively natural psychedelic Folk Drone Ambient track "Arvid" and continues with a more dark canvas "Zhaln'ik" dedicated to the cult of ancestors and entombments. This track, besides psychedelic retro electronics, folk instruments, voices of birds and field recordings, also features dark (with a touch of doom) guitar and ritual clapper, calling to dead. Full-colour cover and info insert. [YAOP]
DOR -- "Something Without A Name" -- CD-R -- €8
2012 Ufa Muzak, UFA 52, (ltd. 120)
Power electronics / Angst pop / Shoegaze. Entering the forbidden territories can turn into nothing but total change. Returning into habitual environment is a catastrophic experience, strongest shock of striking difference. Familiar things, people, feelings, dreams turn out to be covered with thin layer of rot and decay. Time of absence turned into "time" of instand death, past and future combined in a dead-end, hidden from the visible existence, and everted to destroy everything completely. If once you touch this hardly visible gray mirage, the objects and forms of living and non-living nature turn into cloud of ashes. That's exactly why there are only two ways: do not enter, or do not return. The second album of DOR presents the radical view of another world. This is not the complete oblivion of the present, but already highly intensive attention to those who stayed at this side. Hammering as pales for the construction of huge columbarium with thousands of non-existing names, philosophic shots, tracks of this album call in there. While listening to them one has to concentrate not to be carried away... 7 tracks, 50 minutes, 6-panel cardboard sleeve with a postcard. [press-release]

DXMPE -- "Ray" -- CD-R -- €6
2010 Heart Shaped Box Prod., HSB-042, (ltd. 37)
Abstract rhythmical lo-fi electronics. Glitch strayed in the fog of illusions chopped from the fragments of mental schemes. Sentimental idm under a heavy layer of dust covering semi-disintegrated motherboard. Quiet insanity of electro-cosmis dreams. Analogue rhythms coming from spine bone and rattling collages from a crazy toy market.
Eiserner Wille -- "Stylianos Patakos" -- CD-R -- €7
2011 Smell The Stench
Noise / Musique Concrete dedicated to one of the leaders of the conservative patriotic government of Greece in 1967-1974 named Stylianos Patakos. He was born in a usual peasant family, then finished war academy and served until got the rank of general. He headed the revolution of 1967 and in the following years was one of the most important leaders of Greece. Being a spectacular orator, Patakos has travelled a lot across the country, including the islands belonging to Greece, and spoke regularly in front of students and workers, never using the services of bodyguards. The album is based on the recordings of Patakos' speeches, noises and military marches. [YAOP]
Ganzer -- "Omega Point" -- CD-R -- €8
2012 Ufa Muzak, UFA 48, (ltd. 77)
Apocalyptic black harsh shoegaze. Along the metal walls of a small room slide the long shadows like interwined snakes. But there is nothing here and never have been, in this hazardous organic environment existence is impossible. Temperature heats up and steam swirls in white clouds. Gnash comes from the cracks in the floor and ceiling, someone tries to penetrate from the outside and strikes with great force with large-tonnage constructions. Sometimes noise becomes unbearable and the room shakes from waves of sonic pressure. Weightless like vapour this album of Ganzer streams from long huge rusty pipes randomly thrown on the ground. This hot smoke clogs the throat and tears the lungs. There is movement inside the pipes, soon it should come out. Half an hour of heavy waiting, listening deeply the harsh splashes of noise. The device indicator shows the way. There is nothing and has never been, in this metal box, in this prison, only an embossed inscription on the wall: your name and two dates, of your birth and your death. 6 tracks, 33 minutes, 6-panel cardboard sleeve with a rope and sticker. Heldentod -- "The Ghost Machine" -- CD -- €10
2012 Cold Spring, CSR131CD
Heldentod began in 2005 as an outlet for research into the little-known corners of 20th-Century history. While previous recordings whiplashed between the traditional and the experimental, Heldentod's latest album leaves behind its neofolk and martial-industrial roots to focus solely on electronics, but maintains the fundamental sense of composition found in earlier incarnations. Although now primarily influenced by death industrial and power electronics, Heldentod looks to create the most suitable expression of its key themes, including ghosts, ancestor worship, human sacrifice, neolithic fertility rights, Iron Age religion, medieval literature, unseen dimensions, inhuman intelligences, and all manner of Forteana. Hogan, Anni -- "Mountain" -- CD/DVD -- €14
2011 Cold Spring, CSR132CD
'Mountain' is an artistic collaboration between musicians Anni Hogan, Robert Strachan and Itchy Ear, film maker Bob Wass and mountaineer Cathy O'Dowd. Hogan and Itchy Ear originally worked on a series of piano pieces inspired by Rene Daumal's 'Mount Analogue' and the superior wisdom of mountains, using O'Dowds Himalayan conquests for particular authentic inspiration. Robert and Anni used these pieces and the Himalayan peaks as a template for painting a soundwave soundscape around the piano compositions. Cathy has supplied all the photographs for the album sleeve, beautifully edited by Abby Helasdottir, and Cathy has performed a fascinating and revealing monologue over the piece 'Deathzone'. The 'Mountain' film has been created by Bob Wass from Cathy's original film footage of her Everest expeditions. The film and soundtrack are an experimental 'journey' to explore sonically and visually the nature of 'journey and mountains'. DualDisc. [press-release]

Ierophania & Fanum -- "Escort Of Endless Summer" -- CD -- €9
2012 Radiodrone Records, RD-09, (ltd. 250)
The new chapter in the chronicle of the end of times. Ierophania (UFA Muzak, SkullLine) from Rostov-on-Don and Moscow based act Fanum (Valgriind, Radiodrone Rec.) gathered in order to convey their disturbing mystical revelation to us. Stepping “through the open reality” with them, you risk to gain the experience that is incompatible with your past life, to be in the midst of a tense battle between Madness and Faith. Here, on the border of physics and metaphysics, “the temple on the blood of Human” is dominates, from which we can hear snatches of spiritual songs, blending with the roar of infinity. The fragments that was ?ollected on the battlefields adds up to an apocalyptic picture. But the “Soldiers of prophecy” is coming closer, and the “heart inherit the eternity.” [press-release]

The loud music of the sky: pounding drums surrounded by trumpets and swirling voices echoing from a distance unknown". Kreuzweg Ost rises again with God on their side. "Gott Mit Uns" combines a variety of different musical styles: from Martial Industrial to Classical sounds, from deep Ambient to cinematic Pop music. Lull & Beta Cloud & Andrew Liles -- "Circadian Rhythm Disturbance Reconfigured" -- CD -- €10
2012 Cold Spring, CSR139CD
From England to the United States and back again... it all started as a simple drone project between LULL (aka Mick Harris of Scorn, ex-Napalm Death) and BETA CLOUD (aka Carl Pace), based on the concept of how insomnia can effect your thought patterns. Billows of powerful bass drones set to indistinct flourishes of temporary insanity. The original track is there, but also included is a fierce remix track by legendary sound artist Andrew Liles (NURSE WITH WOUND). Fans of Lull and Beta Cloud will really sink their teeth into this one; what Liles has created here is not a simple remix but a raging, deconstruction as only he can do. Originally released as a limited 3" CD in 2008, now proudly presented in a deluxe digipak edition with stunning new artwork. A captivating listen for dark ambient and harsh noise fans alike. Machinefabriek -- "Veldwerk" -- CD -- €10
2011 Cold Spring, CSR156CD
Sublime drone music and field recordings by Rutger Zuydervelt. 'Slovensko I & II' are best seen as a travel diary, recorded in Slovakia. RZ made 'sound snapshots' with a small digital recorder. A major influence both while recording and assembling the tracks was Chinese sound artist Yan Jun. 'Rusland' is a sound collage comprising field recordings and sections of live performances made in Russia. An incredible adventure and culture shock with long train journeys, bizarre venues and amazing people. 'The Breaking Water' can be heard as a sonic portrait of Rotterdam's famous Erasmus bridge. It includes recordings taken from both on and beneath the bridge, along with further sounds from the river that it crosses, the Nieuwe Maas. 'Floor & Radio' is a contrast to the outdoor pieces recorded for the the installation 'Licthung' in Radolfzell, Germany. Contrasted against the outdoor silence was the squeaking floor in the guest house and the distorted signal and static from the radio. Sometimes there's music in everything. Makino Takashi asked RZ to perform a score for his film 'In Your Star'. After a screening in Tokyo, a studio version was recorded. The result is 'Apollo', a sonic journey to space and beyond. Digipak. [press release]

The most remorseless, brutal Skullflower ever! Alternating between granular lo-fi primitive rock and granular lo-fi primitive Power Electronics, this taut disc is a chain mail glove of hate to any lazy minds who've tainted the air with describing Skullflower as 'psychedelic'. But that's not to say this is an all out total assault. There are also moments of tender acoustic balladry, its just that they don't exist. The remorseless brutal sound is primitive, but as detailed and rich as a blood soaked medieval canvas, somewhere betwixt The Rita and Clandestine Blaze, but more brutal! Long live the New Flesh! Sublime new album from the drone / dark ambient legend. Comprising of five deeply-layered extended tracks, mixed and edited from re-sampled location recordings originally captured inside the hanger environs of a Northrop-Grumman B-2 Stealth Bomber, during a period of downtime maintenance at a U.S. Air Force base in Cambridgeshire, England. Original field recordings and texture preparations by FOURM/Si_Comm. First edition pressing of 1000 copies includes bonus disc comprised of this *pre-mix* material in its original, un-edited form, as a representation of the source audio from which "Stealth" was reconstituted. Bag with shoes of the sultan - a one-time home experiment recorded with the use of bayan, metallophone, plastic cups, paper, brushes, phones, pencils, eastern paintbook and other things lying around in the room. Stylistically this is something like psychedelic ambient / noise. Artwork features seven child's graphic works. [press-release]

V/A -- "Dark Ambient Radio Vol. 1" -- CD -- €10
2008 Dark Ambient Radio, DAR001
Low frequencies, deep atmospheres, layers of darkness. All this decorated with slow, wicked melodies. Music not usually coming from your radio, more likely coming from the abyss scorching inside a sick mind. But there is this place - Dark Ambient Radio. A place which provides with a shelter not only those who enjoy drowning their senses in dark soundscapes and atmospheres but also the ones who dare to create them. And not only it gives a shelter to the dark ambient producers who lurk in this online community. It also gave them the chance to present their work to the world. So thirteen artists united, composed eleven tracks and created 70 minutes pure, dark ambient madness. In the first volume of the Dark Ambient Radio Compilation you'll be able to hear tracks by established artists such as Ah Cama-Sotz, Svartsinn, Dark Muse, Phelios and Stephen Parsick but you will also have the chance to discover the works of younger projects such as Nihil Communication, Nagual Art, Evoke Scurvee, Mytrip, All Sides, Megatone, Phobos and False Mirror. V/A -- "Dark Ambient Radio Vol. 2" -- CD -- €10
2009 Dark Ambient Radio, DAR002
This compilation is the result of almost one year of careful design and polishing of cutting-edge dark ambient songs, good cooperation, and intense competition. After already releasing a very good compilation with Vol.1, Dark Ambient Radio managed to raise the level with this superb collection of dark ambient music. This is not a big surprise since the 11 songs on the CD were selected out of 26 quality tracks that have been submitted during 2008 and would have been sufficient to release a good 2CD compilation. The selection of the tracks was a painful but fair process as the participating artists voted for the tracks individually and the agglomerated rating decided which tracks ended up on the compilation. So you can be sure that there is no weak track on the CD. All tracks have been done exclusively for this compilation. [press-release] Participants: Tholen, Inner Vision Laboratory, Arkhitektur Noir, THERRADAEMON, Aspectee, Phelios, CrepusculaR, Nagual Art, Troum, Phobos, False Mirror.

V/A -- "John Barleycorn Reborn: Rebirth" -- 2 CD -- €14
2011 Cold Spring, CSR150CD
The double-edged nature of the harvest season can be both a blessing and a burden; a vision of superabundant excess than can’t possibly be consumed before it rots. Our pre-industrial forebears expended considerable time and energy on conserving some of autumn’s bounty against the scarcity of winter… yet somehow, people would survive to till their fields again the following spring. The compilers of the first ‘John Barleycorn Reborn’ compilation, released in 2007, faced a similar embarrassment of riches - a testament both to English folk heritage and the health of the contemporary folk music scene. So here we have the second crop from that original sowing. Originally released for download only, now finally available as a stunning double CD, with every track completely remastered to the highest quality. 33 tracks from the cream of current dark British Folk music. Communism -- "At Soviet Speed -- MC -- €8
2003 ХОР, hmc-073
The first Communism album was recorded in February 1988, including songs and verses of Soviet authors. All text material was taken from some Soviet song-book (we don't remember the title) of Khruschev's period published in 1964. Musically this is a mixture of Communism songs and songs of other authors (Francis Goya, Paul Moriat, etc.). The triumphal joining of Kuzya Uo happened during the recording of this album which was initially titled "Dark Times"... [E. Letov]
Communism -- "Let It Be" -- MC -- €8
2003 ХОР, hmc-052
The 10th album "Let It Be" (May 1989, 50 min.) was recorded in cooperation with Flirt duo: Oleg Sur - vocals, acoustic guitar, Valery Rozhkov - vocals, acoustic guitar, bass, tapeloops, effects; Kuzya Uo - vocals, sax, electric guitar, Egor - vocals, guitars, bass, drums, prepared tape, plastic & other fx. The material is based on yard songs of 60-s and early 70-s based on Beatles, A. Lloyd Webber, Shocking Blue, and other classics. A very beautiful and sad album. [E. Letov]
Communism -- "Soldier's Dream" -- MC -- €8
1998 ХОР, hmc-019
On this recording we were aided by Jeff Zhevtun (guitar, vocals, consulting). All lyrics taken from a real discharge album and sung on real soldier's tunes also using some melodies of our own. Fragments of classical and jazz compositions are used too. Accoring to my and Kuzya's opinion, this is one of our most bright, frightful and tragical works ever created... [E. Letov]

All Hail The Transcending Ghost -- "s/t" -- CD -- €10
2009 Cold Spring, CSR122CD
Dark Ambient / Guitar Drone. The debut album from All Hail The Transcending Ghost - a joint collaboration between Henrik Nordvargr Björkk (MZ.412, Toroidh, Folkstorm etc) and Tim Bertilsson (Fear Falls Burning, Switchblade). Together the Swedish legends have created arguably one of the most haunting drone-dark-ambient-industrial works in recent years, invoking the spirits of old Nordvargr, meets the sludge-doom vibe of Tim's hellish guitar. This has to be the most unsettling work from Nordvargr, as the man himself states "truly the most scary music I have recorded". An icy chill down your spine... a cold hand on your shoulder... you are never alone in the darkness. [press-release]

Cages -- "Folding Space" -- CD -- €10
2009 Cold Spring, CSR121CD
Post-Rock / Experimental. There is nothing fun or pedestrian about dreams that are uncompromising to the point of reality. The shaking notes that make up “Folding Space” were recorded by two people holed up in their whole respective imaginations of visions of loops, layers and pleading lyrics. It is stubborn but not ugly, nearly one hour of music set in studios buried by blizzards of the American Great Lakes region... Cages is Nola Ranallo and David Bailey. They practiced, moved apart, relayed tapes through the mail, revised the entire damned thing, and then rejoined to capture every last seizure on this record. They sought sounds from the same dreams that give fools belief and colorfully punctuate the nights of the sanest. It’s sometimes pretty (“Lost Lipids”) or crushing (“Psalm to Mother”; “If It Flies, It Dies”) or left hanged in the speakers (“Dying”). There are elements of dreamy ether and discomfort rather than the easy choruses and catchphrases of the most collected and consumed art form. And, then, you’ll find a song radiating another thing entirely. (sweetness? The Devil’s hand?)... Live, the duo transfers their forged and found music into a very personal presentation that soars above the casually talking show-goers, the poor man’s jazz bands, and the art house showboats. Patrons and fellow musicians are pulled in; sounds are pushed out but never apart... “Folding Space” is a foot to the honest and hard road, which can quickly cut away the uncurious and reward the rest like the tapes listened to repeatedly in the fevers of your youth. Please mull and judge, and add to the tops or bottoms of the lists you think necessary. And know the visions backing this elaborate music were recorded and are performed for a primary reason: to exist freely. [Justin Kern]

Anaesthesia Dolorosa Psychica is an exorcism dive into the depths of sorrowful heartlessness, which fetters the will to live. It is a proven attempt to find a way out of the maze of closed benumbed consciousness by sound magical opportunity. Machinefabriek -- "Daas" -- CD -- €10
2010 Cold Spring, CSR128CD
The tracks on Daas have been carefully picked to form a provoking, haunting journey. What the tracks have in comon is a sense of nostalgic graininess. As with the music of Philip Jeck, The Caretaker or William Basinski, these tracks are full of degrading melodies and dusty ambience... 'Daas' is the previously unreleased opening track of the album, and feautures contributions by the great Richard Skelton. This track was made as a reaction to the piece 'Koploop'. 'Flotter', 'Koploop' and 'Grom' were previously available on small run self released 3" CDRs. Sold out for some time now, these tracks deserved a wider audience. These three long tracks also seem to come from the same galaxy, making perfect sense when put together. 'Onkruid' was a track previously released on 'A Room Forever', as an expensive and extremely limited 12" boxset, now brought to a wider audience... Presented in a matt-laminate digipak. Ultra deep, glacial Dark Ambient, based around Antarctic co-ordinates. The polar regions are awe-inspiring environments of inhospitable minimalism, and at the same time there's a beautiful serenity to be found in their uncharted bleakness. 'Deep Frieze' is SRF's second album for Cold Spring and here deep, resonant, abyss-like drones shine forth from icy chasms below. [press release]

TSIDMZ -- "We Are Time" -- CD-R -- €9
2011 Ufa Muzak, UFA 45, (ltd. 115)

Events happening in some hermetic space, noone can change the importance of their impact on the chain of things happening outside. Faces gleam in memories and prophetic dreams of all mediums and prophets. They can't help in any way, because the arms of the Highest ones are unbound and spread over those lowered in extatic grief and admiration on all squares in all countries. From the Arctic center come the waves of power flow, its sonic reflection puts into the state of imminence of forthcoming Storm. Recollections of strangers recorded on old tape. Meditative connection with the point of eternity. Musically and ideologically similarity with Turbund Sturmwerk. Austere chapters in the federal book of Memory... 5 tracks, 34 minutes, A5 cardboard sleeve. [press-release]

Z'EV -- "Sum Things" -- CD -- €10
2009 Cold Spring Records, CSR101CD
Industrial / Ritual / Drone. Through an elemental darkly…In the fall of 2005 Z’EV began dipping deep into his archives and selecting recordings to produce ‘sum things / a possible form for cold dark matter’, a project reflecting his take on the ‘dark ambience’ genre. Composed between December 2005 and March 2006, these 6 pieces endeavour to transport the listener deep into their long forgotten memories of the primal forces at the dawn of creation. Each piece is based on a single sound source. Absolutely no effects of any kind, not even equalization, were applied to the source recordings. Hear then, the state of the art in elemental musics.
