Early tape material power electronics associations of Ashley C are gone. This Danish project has been progressing and conquering new territories of sound. Bastards Of Love -- "Decadance Royale" -- CD -- €10
2006 Deja Vu Music, Dejavu 002
Bastards of Love debut album on CD! Let's get minimal! Featuring guest appearances from Genevieve Pasquier, and Nora Below, Bastards Of Love are tearing you up! Tobi Margaux has arisen from the vinyl release underground with his first CD. Bastards Of Love "Summer Destination" EP was a short initiation to what is now fully realized on "Decadance Royale". 70 minutes of pure electronic passion connecting old school synth-lines with amazing pumping rhythms that lead you straight into ecstasy. The vocals provide an emotional note ranging from whispering, melancholic layers, to the final heights of power: shouts of life. Invoking an experience that flows into the spirit and creates an everlasting impression. The magic of "Alchemy" with Genevieve Pasquier flows into pulsating industrial pop with "The Love Cafe", and "Fast Reaction". The mellower crooning side of Bastards Of Love is also finely represented by "Misunderstandings" and "World Of Matter". Bonus remixes of the hits "Stories" and "Rouge Fatale" round out the complete infusion of this "Decadance Royale". This is the language of pure energy, this is rebel electropop! [press-release]

Bastards Of Love -- "Summer Destination" -- CD EP -- €7
2006 Deja Vu Music, Dejavu 001
With the "Summer Destination" EP the electro-wave project Bastards Of Love finally makes their debut on CD. After several vinyl releases to his credit Tobi Margaux arrives with brand new songs in advance of the forthcoming album "Decadance Royale". "Summer Destination" holds 7 tracks of edgy electronic pop that spans a whole spectrum from harsher beats to emotional upbeat dance tracks. As if that wasn't exciting enough, the EP also features guest vocals by the renowned PSYCHE singer Darrin Huss as well as BPITCH CONTROL recording artist Nora Below. Here are some serious artist collaborations to enjoy combining innovative club beats and dramatic vocals that refer to classic synthesizer Pop of the early 80's while remaining current with the vibe of now. The combination of Bastards Of Love and Psyche on the remake of SOFT CELL's dark classic "Martin" is pure maniacal majesty! Finally after the vinyl output on We Rock Like Crazy and Electronic Corporation, Bastards Of Love has begun blasting their analogue masterpieces direct to digital, and with this EP and following album are certain to appeal to new fans around the world. Cold Cave -- "Cremations" -- CD -- €10
2009 Hospital Productions, HOS-248
Cremations is a collection of early demo/live/and unreleased tracks from Cold Cave. From the projects isolated beginnings to the recent full band line-up the development of this singular musical entity is documented here in its icy electronic glory. From Cold Cave’s infancy sexual identity and oblique existentialism have been expressed through biting lyrics and electronic minimalism. Rarely has the human condition been exposed so brazenly as in “Sex Ads”. Melodies, noise and rhythms clash as stories from below the surface are retold. From the demo LP Coma Potion, which featured a rugged stripped down distortion, to the suggestive Electronic Dreams tour cassette (featuring the voice of Max Morton on the track “Heavenly Metals”). Cold Cave has developed its own brand of genre defying electronic music, without ever betraying its dark roots. Love and pornography, Industrial music and traditionalism, poetry and profanity all mix together in a hedonistic, cocktail of nihilistic nights and mournful mornings. Cremations collects all this work for the first and last time. [press-release]
Combustione e Liberazione -- "Ash Me" -- CD-R -- €6
2012 Orgonomy Records, 2 / Narvalo Suoni, NARV 6.5, (ltd. 66)
A young Italian project with a two-track 24-min mini-album. Track "A" - pleasantly textured monotonous industrial humming with echoes of speech samples transforms into constantly mutating noise filled with electronic clanks. Track "B" - rhythmic lashes with a flow of pulsating hisses - right atmosphere of well-coordinated working mechanisms, slowly altering throughout 14 minutes. Industrial and noisy, but not really harsh, rather stylish and smart. Sleeve made of silver paper.

Combustione e Liberazione / Panda -- split -- CD-R -- €6
2012 Orgonomy Records, 3 / Narvalo Suoni, NARV 7.5, (ltd. 66)
Split of two young Italian projects. Three tracks from Panda - incredibly raw and harsh loops of sound with ragged edges. One long track from Combustione e Liberazione - cycled loop gradually becomes overgrown by rough sounds, taking all the space, through which again rises the mechanical rhytms in company with dense flow of digital noise. Non-standard packaging of red paper and pliable plastic.

Crumer, Jason -- "Hum Of An Imagined Environment" -- CD -- €10
2006 Ignivomous, IG-110
Alongside Waylon Riffs and Ryan Wolfe, Jason Crumer cranks out Southern metal for Relapse Records trio Facedowninshit and is also a member of Now in Darkness World Stops Turning, Aluminum Noise, and Amazing Grace. With his rather prolific solo work, however, Crumer focuses on creating hemorrhaging, elongated feedback sequences that sound like Earth rotating around SunnO))). Hum of an Imagined Environment, his most well-rounded effort to date, is notable for its title track and opener, “Even Bottom Feeders Have Parasites,” both pushing past the eight-minute mark with free-flowing movements that keep the listener engaged at all times. While extremely harsh on the ears (imagine the aural equivalent of the Butthole Surfers' album cover for Electriclarryland), Crumer’s noise is well worth the pain. Fire In The Head -- "Carrion Wind" -- CD -- €10
2009 Turgid Animal, TA389
Since resuming recording this past Autumn, F/I/T/H’s work has taken a new direction. "Carrion Wind" is an ambitious work which consolidates the sounds explored with F/I/T/H and Sky Burial into a single project, focusing them into a complex and meticulously composed 63 minute industrial opus, a dark and ominous dirge, both beautiful and brutal, incorporating aspects of metal percussion, dark ambient, drone, doom and industrial electronics. Noticeably absent are Page’s vocals as F/I/T/H takes a more "restrained" approach favoring slow layering of synths, field recordings, guitar loops and electronics to build a tension which occasionally peaks at an explosive level comparable to the shorter tracks of F/I/T/H’s previous releases. Hammemit -- "Spires Over The Burial Womb" -- CD -- €10
2008 Total Holocaust Records, THR111
Here is the debut album from what is being described as the new phase for EMIT. HAMMEMIT is the new recording moniker for infamous UK black-noise/ambient figure U.I./Malachi, with additional members. Spires Over the Burial Womb continue the atmosphere found on some of the last (perhaps transitional) Emit recordings (Mother of Blood for example). Deeply mysterious with a heavy religious influence. Subtle ambience, a suitable soundtrack for complete isolation in a variety of locations, certainly ancient english ruins. 8 page colour booklet, with texts for each song. [press-release]

Hrefnesholt -- "Uraungst" -- CD -- €10
2010 Percht, Percht16
Going back to far away times, HREFNESHOLT digs out long forgotten, ancient tales amongst the myths of the Upper Austrian forests. These legends of sinister and primal fears were too terrible to be retold and people wanted to forget them over the centuries. Now these ancient tales are finally being retold in "Urangst", the newly released debut album of HREFNESHOLT. „Uraungst“ is a mixture of dark, organic Ambient, Folk, a slight Black Metal touch and spoken/sung lyrics and tales in Austrian dialect. HREFNESHOLT is purest Doom Folk and uncompareable with any other music style. The initial recordings of „Uraungst“ took place in the Fluesterwald (whispering forest) Studio in 2009. In autumn 2010 the album was finally completed and mixed at Luftschutzkerker Studio by Christoph Ziegler of Vinterriket, Sturmpercht, Atomtrakt, Nebelkorona, Frдkmündt... [press-release]

Hrossharsgrani / Dead Man's Hill -- "Dead Meat" -- CD -- €10

2-ways split album - a great mix between Martial / Industrial / Ambient / Electronic and more. Five new HROSSHARSGRANI anthems featuring vocals by Bart Piette from D.M.H. and Pr. Sergiy from MOLOCH, as well as five new monumental epics from the master of Dark Ambient, Dead Man's Hill - this time a lot more intense and song-oriented than on earlier releases. "Dead:Meat" is the so far most mature and complex album of both artists. Composition, interpretation and design feel like a smack in the face and leave no room for compromise! Morbidity meets iron avant-garde, romanticism encounters the frozen coldness of metal! When will people finally realize: if you want to feel you MUST listen! [press-release]

2009 Ahnstern, Ahnstern 42
IRIJ is a one-woman-folk project brought to life by Eluveitie violinist Meri Tadic in autumn 2006. Her compositions range from mere instrumentals all the way to a cappella songs. It's a journey through a Slavic soul devoted to tradition and sincerity. IRIJ is mentioned in Slavic mythology with almost oppositional meanings. Its the celestial residence of pagan gods as well as the here and now and the materialistic world. Her music sounds bewitching and bright, but dark and plain at the same time. It catches up with what is in between, a world between the worlds. [press-release]

Kraschau -- "Offenbarung" -- CD -- €10
2012 Twilight Records, TW 1.95 / Gradual Hate Records, GH 114CD
We are proudly to announce the debut album of a promisse in the musical scene. If you like bands as Triarii, Arditi, March of Heroes etc... you are in the right way with Kraschau!! The debut album of Kraschau was inspired by the great empires and kingdoms of Europe, like the Austro-Hungarian Empire and Prussia and also 20th century christian and legitimist movements, eg. the Falange or the Carlists of the spanish civil war or Romania’s Legionary Movement. The lyrics are dealing with the themes of christian mysticism and the spirit of struggle - as opposed to the coward comfort of the modern world. The album features various guest musicians from the hungarian industrial and neofolk scene... Kraschau was built upon the ruins of Adam Berces’ prevous martial-neofolk project, Durch Heer und Kraft. The aim of this new project is to create high quality, live sounding neoclassical/symphonic music with the strictness of martial rhythms and with the power of industrial sounds. Adam was trained as a classical musician on trumpet and trombone, that’s why brass instruments has a big role in Kraschau’s music. It also incorporates various speeches, which are not too common in the martial-neofolk genres collected from documentary films and historical archives. [press-release]

Kristoffer Nystroms Orkester -- "Overlook Hotel" -- CD -- €10
2012 Malignant Records, TUMORCD50
Overlook Hotel heralds the return of the mighty KNO, the collaborative project between Swedish industrial legend Peter Nystrom (Megaptera, Negru Voda), and Norwegian up and comer Kristoffer Oustad (V:28, Plague Machinery). 5 years after the highly acclaimed brakeHEAD CD, KNO welcomes you into the Overlook Hotel, where every room has a ghost, and every room has a story to tell. Travel the hallways and explore, as you venture into a more cerebral musical state than what brakeHEAD offered, where ghostly transmissions and hypnotic layers of surreal, ethereal atmospheres intersect with disembodied voices, clattering, furnace blasting percussion, and of course, healthy injections of true, old fashioned industrial noise and sweeping doom, done in the best Scandinavian style (imagine if Deutsch Nepal had continued in the same path laid down by Benevolence and you start to get the idea). The pacing of the album is truly impeccable, flowing seamlessly from to track, as if moving from room to room in a hazy, dream state, the layering and cohesiveness on a whole nothing short of meticulous. In 6 panel digipak. [press-release]

Lovely Little Girls -- "Glamorous Piles & Puffy Saddlebags" -- CD -- €10
2007 Apop Records, APOP 030
To look at one of Gregory Jacobsen's paintings is to view a world of oozing fluid, hilarious meat, and demented animals. Set that vision to music and you get Lovely Little Girls, the band Jacobsen fronts. LLG walks a path of which the foundation is dada, psychedelics, and Beefheart, one that has been trod by Butthole Surfers, Tragic Mulatto, and Idiot Flesh. Swirling sickness of songs are propelled by Eleanor Balson, a drummer whose style creates more than a beat while maintaining a beat. There is an insight that female drummers seem to have (think Katherina Ex or Mary Duchess of Saigon) that leads them to a place where the drum steps outside of 1-2-3-4 but not into Mathland. Also a standout is Alex Perkolup, who plays a guitar that razors noise into piercing fragments, a crack horn section, and Gregory J., singing lines like "Pork chop sloshed tight in the pants/bottom smack chest chop soft port pants" in a style that could be called Jack Brewer directed by Roger Corman. At twenty-minutes Glamorous Piles... is as exactly as long as it should be. Those who can slither into this filth and feel at home will be very much rewarded. [SS, Z-Gun.com]

Master/Slave Relationship -- "Music For A Sadomasochistic Scene" -- CD -- €10
1995/2002 Cybertzara, CYB008CD, (ltd. 1000)
"This music is purposefully sparse. I intended for this CD to be thought of and played as background atmosphere during S/M play; it is music that merely lays the groundwork, lays the foundation. It is up to you to fill in the blanks: with the snap of a whip, the crackle of latex being slipped over a body, the sound of pain and ultimately, pleasure. S/M is still a difficult subject to approach. It seems, you either understand the concepts of control and consent, or you don't. It's not my job in this context to teach or educate. This CD is dedicated to those of you who do, indeed, understand." [from the author]

Phase II -- "Afterglow" -- CD -- €10
2007 Ahnstern, Ahnstern29
It has been a little over thirty years since the inception and all-too-brief life span of Phase II, the progressive-folk band founded by Mark Andrews (Blue Grass) and Nicholas Tesluk (Changes). Since that time, only the five selections on their self-titled, blue vinyl, extended-play record (and a handful of songs featured in recent anthology appearances) have found an audience outside of the venues where the group performed live during their original three-year tenure. That is about to change! As the piece de resistance of Phase II's artistic career to date, the band's new album Afterglow has arrived, introducing modern listeners to their unique and timeless mixture of varied musical stylings. Included in this expansive release are six songs from their original repertoire - in some cases, songs only rehearsed, but never before performed in any venue - all recorded here for the very first time. As a special reprise, all of the songs from the blue vinyl record (now long out-of-print) have been enhanced and included on the Afterglow album. And to bring things full-circle, Phase II is also proud to present a recording of its first all-new song of the twenty-first century on this compact disc. To round out an already-generous Phase II presentation, the album concludes with "Candle in the Night", their complete pre-progressive, conceptual radio program from 1978 (two songs of which were included on 2004's Tonwerk Flammenzauber 2 CD). The Afterglow package includes an attractive booklet featuring full lyrics, as well as an anecdotal history of the band in text and photos. Whether during their "folk duo" period, or as a full progressive band, the original warmth of the music of Phase II was felt all-too-briefly and by all-too-few. Afterglow is a comprehensive retrospective of their original songs. Now that Nicholas and Mark have reunited in this "Digital Age", may it also provide a launch pad for exciting new works to come. Psychopathic Terror -- "Revolt" -- CD -- €10
2011 self-released, (ltd. 200)
It all started under the moniker of Sigillum Diaboli and finally ended up as Psychopathic Terror. This band from Finland can already look back on a consistent discography (mainly released under their previous name), but I can’t remember to have heard them before.
The band is clearly inspired by metal music and crossover. The first songs are very aggressive. “Conspiracy” reminds me a bit of Ministry, but Psychopathic Terror (as the name might indicate) sounds faster and harder. The song ends in a pure guitar apotheosis. They now and then take a little break (cf. “Limbo” and “The Invisible War”), but the main songs move back into pure terror. The track “21st Century Execution” is one heavier outburst and another demonstration of this band’s power. A few electronic passages are sometimes emerging from the depths, injecting a calmer touch to this metal-minded brutality. “Revolt” is mainly meant to please guitar lovers and metal fans. Rapoon -- "Easterly 6 Or 7" -- CD -- €12
2012 Ewers Tonkunst, HHE 031 CD, (ltd. 450)
Another re-edition of sought after Rapoon classics on Ewers Tonkunst after “Dream Circle” released a year ago. “Easterly 6 or 7” initially made by Staalplaat in 1997 is one of the best Rapoon albums of the early period. More ambient than its chronological neighbours it still has a lot of ethnic sampled percussions, eerie sounds, strange surreal samples and mysterious scratches and breathes, while the voice of the Moroccan singer Khadija Lourlham is adding some special colours to the overall typical Middle-eastern flavour of 90-es Rapoon sound world. This edition is limited to 450 copies and comes in a full colour digisleeve. [press-release]
Rapoon -- "Easterly 6 Or 7" -- CD BOX -- €30

Reformed Faction -- "Years Of Lightning, Day Of Drums" -- CD -- €12
2012 Ewers Tonkunst, HHE 032 CD, (ltd. 450)
Brand new album from two former :zoviet*france: members Robin Storey (Rapoon) and Mark Spybey (Dead Voices on Air). This is the fifth album of their joint project which has been formed in 2006 and now gathers more and more attention from the audience which it really deserves. Obviously the duo is on its best creative form today and this work proves it totally. Delicate improvisational loop/collage technic which became a face of :zoviet*france: of its golden mid-80es era is brought here to a new level of sonic wizardry making a perfect balance between great operational technical skills and living breathing musical canvas. An absolute masterpiece of experimental electronic sound art which is far from both formal approach of concrete music and total lack of structure typical to pure improvisationists. Very recommended not only to :zoviet*france: / Rapoon / DVOA fans but for much wider circles of true music lovers! This edition is limited to 450 copies and comes in a full colour digisleeve with two inserts. [press-release]
Roro Perrot -- "Execution Des Hautes Oeuvres" -- CD -- €10
2011 Premier Sang, 006, (ltd. 500)
Roro Perrot is new project from Romain Perrot, aka Vomir, tutelary figure of Harh Noise Wall genre since 2006, obsessive artisan of noise from more than 10 years - including releases and sets with Freya, Mahayoni Mudra, Arshgeil... This new CD is a 22 minutes, 68 tracks, plausible incarnation of some sort of harsh folk, like a french rogue and degenerate cousin of Bill Orcutt, or a Loren Mazzacane Connors under Temesta. Recorded in Lozere & Cote d'Or (France), summer 2011, limited 500 (pro CD), cardboard sleeve. [label info]

Sshe Retina Stimulants -- "Central Node Recording" -- CD-R -- €7
2002 Nihil Market, nM 1.2, (ltd. 150)
Sshe Retina Stimulants is one of those names I see around, maybe lend an occassional ear to, but never really dived into. Apperentely they use here environmental sounds ("gathering acoustic signature from central railway stations" it is called on the cover), which are then sampled into a short loops. These loops are played all over the frequency spectrum and is heavily loaded with sound effects. This results in a more harsher form of industrial music, without leaping into industrial boredom. Wrist -- "Down To The Cellar" -- CD -- €10
2012 Aquarellist, aquarel 21-12, (ltd. 300)
The second album of Moscow droners WRIST shows a versatile approach to drone jazz matters. With iridescent paints from jazz, noise, electronic, ambient and even shoegaze pallettes the sound of WRIST stepping down to the cellar remain authentic and recognizable. And this soggy vault door may lead you to the Ivory Coast shore with still other things to beware. «Blind Alley» demonstrates drone, jazz and noise background packed in a more straightforward hit song form — even with vocal hooks by sung by Kira Lao — so should we call it «dronepop»?
The next thing — «Soap Thriller» — probably answers «No» — turning twilight lounge guitar jazz tune into a crude noisy maelstrom with drums hammering nails into the coffin with the grace of an elephant in amok. [press-release]

In 1995-1996 one could describe as golden years of Texas noise. These two compilations curated by Richard Ramirez, originally tape releases on Chaotic Noise Productions, released in tiny editions almost 15 years ago is proof of it. A Challenge Of Honour -- "No Way Out" -- CD -- €10
2008 Vrihaspati Recordings, VR013
Finally after a long pause, the new A CHALLENGE OF HONOUR album is out now! Their last album "Seven Samurai" was released 4 years ago and in these past years many things changed (in) ACOH. With "No way out" you will hear a completely new side of ACOH. The album would be best described as a pure Neo(Pop)Folk album with many Neoclassical and some Martial elements. Peter learned to play several acoustic instruments in the last years and some guest musicians also helped to create the band's new style. On "No way out" you hear acoustic piano, guitars, e-bass and contrabass, drums, violin and bells, as well as electronic instruments. Most songs are with lyrics and have quite a dreamy and catchy atmosphere with monumental and heroic parts. Some songs even spread a feeling of early 80ies independent music like Joy Division, The Fall, New Model Army... [press-release]

Behrens, Marc -- "Animistic [for Donatella]" -- CD -- €10
2004 Aufabwegen, aatp14, (ltd. 500)
This CD contains two pieces, 'Animistic (for Donatella)' concentrating on mixing location recordings with 'played' objects to obtain a complex soundscape in three parts that is inspired by the idea of an animist understanding of nature. 'Decaying Study 3' on the other hand offers a dense and dynamic drone-like composition built from the generative transformations of two sound files. The cover features 7 full colour cards in a DVD box that show photographs by the artist, complete with liner notes and texts explaining the nature of the location recordings. Marc Behrens is an artist and designer working in several fields. He has conceived musical compositions, installations, performances, objects, videos, and design. Born in Darmstadt, Germany, M. Circular -- "Cycles Of Remembrance" -- CD -- €12
2010 Loki Foundation, LOKI 52
The new album of CIRCULAR is following the debut CD from 2006 and a split LP with INADE. With this work Johannes Riedel makes another step further by creating something with a resounding sense of emotion and wistful melancholia. His classicial education in music allowed him to generate an artificial and ambient soundtrack with well composed songlike structures. There is a truly organic, analog-based core sound with cyclical waves of thick synthesizer drones and modulated bass guitars while slowly oscillating effects and pulsing beats are drifting through the mix. CYCLES OF REMEMBRANCE is an album full of harmonic landscapes, always enveloping and with meditative qualities. [press-release]

Collapsar -- "Beyond The Event Horizon" -- CD -- €10
2009 Malignant Records, TUMORCD38
Malignant presents another rising star within the dark ambient scene, this time in the form of French act Collapsar. With their debut CD, “Beyond The Event Horizon” Collapsar transports the listener on an epic journey deep into the cosmos, forging a path across a vast, inky void, and steering a course around a roiling galactic core of hyper-dense stars and black holes. The sound is epic, expansive, and most of all, HEAVY. There is beauty and tranquility within these realms, but there is no light – just massive, pulsating textures coalescing into shimmering drones, rippling sound waves, and billowing, multi-dimensional layers of powerful dark energy. “Beyond the Event Horizon” is without question, dark ambient in its purest form and one of the more genre defining releases of the last several years. A must for fans of Inade, Lustmord and the like. In 6 panel digipak, with design by ::: Eye.Lyft :::. [press-release]
Crumer, Jason -- "Ottoman Black" -- CD -- €10
2008 Hospital Productions, HOS-215, (ltd. 500)
"Ottoman Black" is an album of midnight drones and true noise. Using powerfully clear electronics as a base for declarative noise bursts, Crumer manipulates the sounds with a resounding animosity. In the vein of Pedestrian Deposit and Air Conditioning, Crumer yields his mean streak to an array of silences over the course of the album. The theme here is personal relations; tracks like "Betrayal After Betrayal" have a conversational quality, both the screams and the muffles, the physicality. "Where Were You" is an actionist-influenced piece of torture. There's nothing not painful here, especially the quiet; the peaks are almost a relief. Ottoman Black is a stern and unforgiving universe. Dimeth Trip -- "Instructions From Konstantin Lopushansky" -- CD -- €10
2011 Autarkeia, acd 058 / Moontrix, MTXCD003, (ltd. 200)
This disc is a joint project of two independent labels Autarkeia and Moontrix. Geid and Dega, members of the industrial/ambient formation MALDUR ATAI, have recorded an album inspired by fatal post-apocalyptic films of the talented Russian director Konstantin Lopushansky. In their musical work, Geid and Dega build the atmosphere reminding of a horrible nightmare where the future can be glimpsed only in eerie fragments of the past. The new post-apocalyptic world is bizarre and hopeless, therefore, the surviving people dream to wake up. Sadly, the dream would not go away. That is a new reality with no existential meaning, an absolute dead-end that has destroyed the majority and made the surviving ones wish for death. The message of the album authors, like the films of the Russian director, is crystal clear: the dream is soon set to become the only prospect of the human civilisation. DIMETH TRIP's disc Instructions From Konstantin Lopushansky is a fine industrial/ambient album distinguished by its tough atmosphere and containing a number of samples from Konstantin Lopushansky’s films. Moreover, it is a clear warning that we have come to the limit. Once we step over the line, there is no way back. Master for the record was made by ambient genius Peter Andersson (RAISON D’ETRE). Dissecting Table -- "Early Studio Works 1986/87" -- CD -- €10
2008 Steinklang Industries, SK-IN 16, (ltd. 500)
Dissecting Table is one of the most influential Noise artists from the early Japanese Industrial years. The first Dissecting Table recordings are quite unique in the Japanese Industrial scene, as the band was working with very concrete rhythms and screaming voices and they even had dark and slow songs, which was completely untypical for this time and region. The only comparisons to early Dissecting Table recordings might be the legendary albums of GRIM and WHITE HOSPITAL. In early 2007 Steinklang released the double-CD "Ultra Materials 1986-1991", which included the first 7", the first LP, the first CD and early compilation tracks. "Early studio works 1986/87" finishes the last chapter of unreleased early Dissecting Table songs. The CD includes 6 earlier/original versions of songs, that were later released on the first 7" and on the first LP, as well as 5 completely unreleased tracks. 61 min. / 11 tracks. [press-release]

"Beyond the Edge of Nowhere" is Flue's first full-length album, following the trio's debut 7" in 1999 on Obuh. This is a wonderfully atmospheric and experimental recording: the enchanting and mysterious sounds are created largely from guitars, bass, and synth, imparting an extremely unique feel to the work. It is certainly a very active work, with many diverse elements and threads fused and juxtaposed together (often simultaneously) into a cohesive whole, lasting for fifty minutes... Flue consists of three figures from the Bay Area experimental music scene: Mason Jones, Jason Stein, and Chris Miller. Mason is known through his solo work, the classic Trance project, and his Charnel Music label. He has also been a member of many groups, including SubArachnoid Space and Culper Ring. Jason has been a member of SubArachnoid Space and Tekachi, and Chris has also been a member of Tekachi. This album features guest contributions from Geoff Walker (Gravitar)... The CD comes packaged in an elegant blue paper wallet with silver printing. [press-release]
Franck, Yannick & Pietro Riparbelli -- "Whinny Muir" -- CD -- €10
2011 Silentes Minimal Editions, sme 1148
A singular long, deep moving, slow and expansive drone-track, built on always changing sonic masses, low frequencies, strong electric-electronic sounds, field recordings, feedback, buzzes, hisses, rough distortion, fading organ chords, cellos and orchestral parts. Alternation of progressive crescendos, ambiental pauses, sudden, dramatic and catchy dynamic shocks. An evolving and extraordinary trip through an obscure sonic journey, convincingly assembled by Italian Pietro Riparbelli (K11, PT-R) and Belgian Yannick Franck. (Y.E.R.M.O., Idiosyncrasia). Nimh -- "Krungthep Archives" -- CD -- €10
2011 Silentes Minimal Editions, sme 1042
After the post-industral / power-electronics "diversions" of hise recent collaboration with Pierpaolo Zoppo / Mauthausen Orchestra in "From Unhealthy Places", and "Forgotten Realm", the "second chapter" of the Halls of Mirrors projects with Andrea Marutti / Amon in dark ambient "territories", Nimh (Giuseppe Verticchio) returns as a "solo" artist in his newest "Krungthep Archives", rediscovering the sounds of his oriental ethnic instruments, collected in he Far-East, mainly in Thailand. The recordings of these "Archives from Bangkok" (the "City of Angels" or Krungthep in the local idiom) are often submerged with electronic sounds, drones, voices, urban noises, field-recordings, loops, rhytmic fragments, lively and dinamically reach sound waves. Otherwise, sometimes the traditional instruments own natural sounds emerge, giving life to suggestive and catching semi-acoustic soundscapes. New ambitious Ethnic-electronic-experimental evolutions stylistically located right among "The Missing Tapes" and "Travel Diary" previous CDs. All the contrasts of a geographical universe perpetually suspended between ancient cultures and an out of control modernism, perfectly translated in in music by a careful and sensible expert of those places and cultures. Nocturne -- "Fleisch und Metall" -- CD -- €10
2007 Steinklang Industries, SKD 17, (ltd. 500)
"Fleisch und Metall" is a conceptual album, a soundtrack for an actionistic performance, done by the French Industrial / Noise act Nocturne. The performance took place in a old, ruined factory and the 20-page booklet shows impressions from this event, as well as several artistic fotos from industrial areas. "Fleisch und Metall" is a very organic and icecold album, sometimes reminding to early Werkbund, sometimes even to japanoise-like metall-orgies. All in all the album is very complexly structured and many changes in music and style don't let come up any boring moments. Nocturne also uses a lot of samples in French language and even more sirenes, saws, metal-hammerings and more machine sounds, what gives "Fleisch und Metall" the grade of a 100% pure Industrial album. An additional 11 minute video brings you a challenging hommage to industrial work and revolution, accompanied by an amazing Industrial soundtrack. [press release]

Opium & Sostrah Tinnitus -- "Stain" -- CD -- €10
2011 Silentes Minimal Editions, sme 1041
Warm, involving, deep and penetrating sounds... Flowing sounds patterns, vibrating drones permeated by a discreet sense of tension, evolving in dark, obscure, foggy, nocturnal atmospheres, violated by raven voices, mysterious noises and sounds of metal objects in motion... And then concrete noises, confused and elusive melodies, feeble light flashes, buried echoes of human voices, distantr whispers, sudden passages of rough sounds, undefined nuisances, subliminal and hypnotic sequences, just like a recollection of unreal and dusty sounds from an old carillon... An extraordinary and not to be missed journey in the darkness, lead with great skill by two of the most remarkable artists coming from the Italian ambient/dark-ambient scene of the last decade. Pain Jerk & Rock'n'Roll Jackie -- "Super Relaxed" -- CD -- €10
2010 Second Layer Records, SLR009, (ltd. 500)
Over a year in the making this is the first collaboration between Pain Jerk (Kohei Gomi) and Rock’n’Roll Jackie (Jackie Stewart of Smegma, Tenses, Los Angeles Free Music Society, etc). The source sounds were provided by Jackie and then Kohei obsessively worked these into the 2 long tracks you hear on this disc. This is by no means a conventional harsh noise record. The influence of the musique concrete masters of old echoes heavily throughout these tracks whilst still maintaining the playfulness and non-purism found throughout LAFMS recordings. Old sound effect record samples, TV recordings, Flower Travellin Bands guitar riffs and J-Pop drum beats are all included in the mix alongside Kohei’s synth sounds. This was recently described by long term LAFMS champion Takuya Sakaguchi as “high-velocity psychedelic electronic punk”, and that suits this well. Limited edition of 500 copies in 6-panel ogun digipack with full-colour artwork/collages from Jackie Stewart. [press-release]

Pain Jerk & John Wiese -- "Terrazzo" -- CD -- €10
2007 Harbinger Sound, HARBINGER 055, (ltd. 1000)
Have you ever wondered what a record would sound like that totally filled every bar on your graphic equalizer? Well you don't have to wonder for long because the combined noise terror of Pain Jerk (aka Japanese feller Kohei Gomi) and US laptop-noise supreme John Weise have managed to do that exactly. Those of you who managed to grab hold of John Weise's utterly jaw-dropping 'Soft Punk' earlier this year will know what sort of ear-bashing intensity the man is capable of, but little will prepare you for the Merzbow-meets-Hecker kind of screaming white noise you get on 'Terrazzo'. Little needs to be explained about the music, save for the last track is very appropriately named 'Absolute Hell'; this is not the disc to buy if you live in an apartment block, let's say it's the disc that almost encourages you to go get an ASBO. Since Masami Akita has moved back to analogue squelchery and Hecker has gone into the world of art-led academia it's nice to see these guys carrying on the rich tradition pioneered by Mego back in the day, and hearing some fresh spirit on the whole computer-noise subgenre. It's evil, loud and it will definitely upset almost anyone you could ever play it to... buy it. [Boomkat]
Ramirez, Richard -- "Identity Amnesia" -- CD -- €10
2008 Chi Omega Institute, trophy 002
A new work of Richard Ramirez (Black Leather Jesus, Priest In Shit, Werewolf Jerusalem etc), a man of influence from Texas, USA. One track pays tribute to Incapaticants / Hijokaidan. 53 minutes of music. Japanese import. [Cold Spring]
Ramirez, Richard -- "Start Again" -- CD -- €10

A deathride through sickness and disease, chaos and inferno at breakneck speed. Artwork by Pete Burn (Marzuraan/RYN). [press-release]

Sala -- "Shcut enteRing Worts" -- CD -- €10
2005 Autarkeia, acd 006, (ltd. 500)
"Schut enteRing worts" consists of two forceful tracks of ritual ambient style. They are not distinguished in the compact disk as the ritual couldn't and shouldn't be accelerated or perceived in separated pieces. Starting from hypnotic mantra, music gradually unravels to the strong and mystical ambient, the main feature of which being reiteration transmitted by the sound loops. These are organically supplemented by the tabors, bells, magic spells and mysterious sounds floating from the distance and generating only the strong mystic mood of the audience. Actually, concerning the impact, this music is in line with the works of world's famous artists acting in this field - Coil, NWW, Omenya, Hybryds, Deutsch Nepal. The "Schut enteRing worts" album was recorded by the participants of SALA project when experimenting with Brion Gysin's dream machine, which formerly inspired the well-known William S. Burroughs and had a strong psychedelic effect. [press-release]

Svarrogh -- "Temple of the Sun" -- CD EP -- €7
2007 Ahnstern, Ahnstern27
Welcome to Svarrogh's "Temple of the sun". Bells and whispers are droning through empty places, through empty cities. Black Forests, silver skies, and deep blue seas drown grey, abandoned vastness into a flow of lightened wine and honey. "Temple of the Sun" is a decadent and transcendental journey with mandoline, tamboura, mighty synths, bulgarian folklore, deep balcan voices and european ambient as well as blizzard guitars and several elements from the black metal past of Svarrogh. This mini album is a macrocosmic european theme - although still mainly bulgarian and balcan - a gathering of pagan culture with fragments from modern world. Wine and honey will flow through grey streets, through cities of glass, weeping giants cry out in sorrow - welcome to Svarrogh's temple of decadence! This mini-Album also features some extraordinary guest vocals: Gerhard (Allerseelen - Aut), Valerio (Symbiosis - Ita), Juris (Beverina - Lv), B. Ardo & Rangel (Sangre Cavallum - Por). Weihan -- "Symphonies of Divination" -- CD -- €12
2007 Old Europa Cafe, OECD 103, (ltd. 540)
“Symphonies of Divination” is the sophomore album of this very promising project from the medieval lands bordering the cold North Sea, Flanders (North-Belgium). Dramatically straying from the neo-folk path of their debut album “Galder”, “Symphonies of Divination” offers dark and bombastic compositions with clear references to Slavonic, German and Scandinavian classical music. Heavy percussion, assiduous spiccato string sections, dramatic horn accents and haunting choirs form the backbone of this album. The cold and eerie narrative vocals enhance the grim atmosphere of the music even further. The lyrics, mainly in English but with hints of Dutch, Old-Norse and Swedish, are devoted to Indo-Germanic religion, myth and legend, the Nietzschean spirit and relentlessly attest to the grotesque decline of the modern world. The album is released as a limited edition digipack of 540 copies; each album thus representing a gate to the Hall of the Slain, Valhalla. The concept as a whole is a key to higher cosmological understanding; let the 432.000th year of Kali Yuga begin with “Symphonies of Divination”! The cycle continues as a new world arises out of the shed blood of the old… Ellegant digipack plus large booklet. [press-release]

Wiese, John & C. Spencer Yeh -- "Cincinatti" -- CD -- €10
2009 DroneDisco, fig.95, (ltd. 500)
The cooperative of composer/improvisers John Wiese (Sissy Spacek) and C. Spencer Yeh (Burning Star Core) presents new a collection of works titled "Cincinnati." So far Wiese & Yeh's previous full-length documents have been culled from live performance situations and one could site "Cincinnati" as the duo's first studio album... Recorded face-to-face in late 2007 at Ashworth Tap Room in Cincinnati OH, "Cincinnati" reveals further unexpected developments and strategies of this ongoing partnership. Familiar machineries were primed, but an increasingly alien attitude was fed through and processed into churning and bewildering shapes. The results of these sessions were catalogued and surgically isolated into specimens by Yeh; a little editing employed to carve the forms somewhat presentable, but no "studio trickery" to mask the organic nature. Mastered by Saff Mastering to sharpen the bulbs and polish the blades, the whole of the fourteen tracks form a monumentally intimate body touched by indeterminate intuition, instant composition, and interior logic. Zlye Kukly -- "Strange Tomorrow" -- CD -- €10
2007 Ahnstern, Ahnstern26
After several private CDR releases, "Strange Tomorrow" is the first official album by this unique Russian Folk band, based in Jerusalem / Israel. Dreamingly beautiful, sad and at the same time weird and progressive Folk songs with a gentle early 70ies touch. The band uses a large variety of perfectly played acoustic instruments, as well as some fine electronic sounds. The powerful and empathetic (Russian) vocals from Fred Adra and his (background) singers give a very personal and unique touch to the music of Zlye Kukly. This band is really hard to compare to other artists; maybe some of their songs remind a bit to the folky Gae Bolg, the best balads of Boyd Rice, but mainly You can feel the spirit of the great early 70ies aera of Yugoslavian folk artists, such as Kladivo Konj in Voda, Svremena na Vreme, Drugi Nacin and others. This album will guide you through a strange theatre between the worlds... [label info]
