1000schoen -- "Yoshiwara" -- 2 CD -- €18
2011 Nitkie, patch seven, (ltd. 500)
Esoteric realism is the good term for 1000schoen works. With every new album, the meaning of this wordplay is getting more obvious, though also unexpected at the same time. "Yoshiwara" is not exception, it was first released by Kafue Systems in 2007, in very limited run on CDR with handmade photographic cover. The title should be familiar for those who knows the famous movie "Metropolis" by Fritz Lang, it was the nightclub where the main character Maria was working as the dancer. But it's also the red light district name, in 17th century Tokyo. However, the music we can find here can be hardly imagined as the soundtrack for the new version of "Metropolis". It's a trademark ambient symphony, with melodies dwelling somewhere on the edge of harmonic spheres. Both in short and long tracks, the impact is incredible - for the fans of experimental ambient sounds, it's another adventurous listening experience. This re-edition includes the second CD with two new and previously unreleased tracks, recorded in 2011. [press-release]

Argentum -- "Aguilas de Libertad" -- CD -- €10
2011 Ufa Muzak, UFA 47, (ltd. 500)
Military pop / Neo Folk / Neoclassic / Post rock. Inner history which existence has never been documented becomes especially clear once in a thousand years. Its laws and principles written in blood in its origin are much older than any existing religion or political idea. Everything which contains there has highly explosive nature for a contemporary world order. Cause-effect relationship of terroristic attacks, wars, economical crises, religious faction, new viruses, become useless. They change their poles and at this moment that which was black becomes white, and that which was white becomes black. This is not a state of crisis, this is an ultimate end, even when death is more worth than living. Argentinian project Argentum in its album "Eagles of Freedom" wipes the dust just from several dreadful pages before which the sunshine fades and other, hidden glow starts its cold action. Musically the album is very laconic and simple. But this simplicity is imaginary and in one hour the wideness of presented material becomes visible. Symphonic backgrounds, clear vocals, electronic loops, acoustic guitar passages, calm rolls of disturbing drums, "empty" tracks of light flight. In the whole picture every moment of the disc becomes a link leading to the one goal. Music for the Triumph of the Spirit and Freedom! 15 tracks, 60 minutes, A5 cardboard sleeve + inserts. Artificial Memory Trace -- "Ama_Zone1: Black-Waters" -- CD -- €10
2011 Monochrome Vision, mv37
This album is basically the report about the trips to Brazil during 2007-2008. Everything you can imagine, from airport recordings and street noise to the environmental recordings of bees, bats, frogs etc, also the sounds of boat, campfire, underwater etc. Mostly unedited, these recordings are presented here as is, with some of them just transposed to have been heard by human ears. A kind of meta-reality, which is not accessible for those who never visited this part of the world... Collage of Re_Ality-particles created by Slavek Kwi during Nov-Dec 2010 and April 2011 in T.O.P. (Tentacles Of Perception) Studio, Ireland. All (except when stated otherwise) sounds were recorded in remote reserve Xixuau Xiparina in region of Rio Jauaperi off Rio Negro (Brazil) Aug 2007 and Dec 2008–Jan 2009. Thanks to Chris Clark for his support and guides Castelo and Jose Ferreira Barroso for navigating us on the canoe through flooded rainforest (www.amazonia.org). Track 2-11 was conceived originally as multichannel installation dedicated to children on the autistic spectrum; produced by “Learn & Explore”, The National Concert Hall, Dublin, Ireland - many thanks to Katie Wink and Carol-Ann McKenna for kind support (www.nch.ie). The majority of sounds were not subjected to any other transformation than editing and layering to form another meta-reality. The exceptions are: track 1 (noise reduction used for some sounds recorded in airport, speed-variation in the end of airplane taking off), track 2 (echo effect used with voice), track 3,8,13 (originally to human ear inaudible ultrasonic sounds were transposed with speed-variation within our aural reality). The division in tracks is for location of sound purposes mainly; it has no compositional meaning. [label info]

Astma -- "There Will Be A Mc'Donalds" -- CD-R -- €7 [-50%]
2010 Bornos Product
Astma is Olga Nosova (drummer and vocalist mostly known for her work with Moscow noise-core band Motherfathers) and Russian industrial/electronic scene pioneer Alexei Borisov. The collaborative project was formed in April 2009 in Moscow. Paying homage to both experimental tradition of Alexei's countless musical reincarnations and Olga's instrumental noise experience, the duo embrace elements of weird free-form spoken word psychedelia, live electronics, noise, heavy acid, electroacoustic, d'n'b and far too many different types of acoustic torture to even bother mentioning them. All tracks composed, played and mixed in Moscow, Pilgrim studio, August 2009. Olga Nosova - drums, voice, effects, TB-303. Alexei Borisov - guitar, voice, electronics. [Fulldozer]
Atomizator -- "Torsion" -- 3"CD-R -- €5 [-50%]
2011 Buh Records, BR24, (ltd. 66)
Atomizator is one of the most active current projects and experimental scene in Madrid. His work covers various aspects of the poetry of Dadaist strain: using vocal experimentation (glossolalia, simultaneity) as well as sound poetry (manipulation of the electronic voice). "Torsion" thus becomes a hybrid between art work and poetry vocal sound. Pure and lovely nonsense. Cover art by Haz. Mini cdr limited edition of 66 copies. [label info]

Attrition -- "The Truth In Dark Corners" -- CD -- €10 [-50%]
2011 Other Voices Records, VOX8CD
This is not exactly a new album, but a live recording from 1985 (!) in The Netherlands. This is the kind of ‘dated’ album that will appeal for the biggest fans of the 80s and the collectors of Attrition. We get a spoken introduction (in Dutch) to the concert featuring nine songs (on this album). It seems that Martin Bowes restored some old demo-recording from this gig in The Netherlands. The songs are mainly taken from the “Smiling, At The Hypogonder Club”-album plus some old singles as well (cf. “Shrinkwrap/Pendulum Turns”). The bonus of this album is for sure the previously unreleased songs “In The Attic” and “The Aftermath”. Both songs are rather experimental, totally fitting to the 80s musical style of early Attrition. The opening song from the concert (cf. “The Drop”) is a bit less experimental and revealing a new-wave touch. The quality of the recording (sound) is quite honest while the songs are showing early tracks like “Pendullum Turns” or yet “Hallucinator” in a different (live) version. This album is mainly recommended for the heaviest fans of the band! Notice that the pictures of the concert (on the front- and back cover) were taken by Justin Mitchell from Cold Spring Records. Back in time he was a big fan of Attrition and finally become a friend of Martin Bowes. This album is pure nostalgia. [Side-Line Magazine]
Aura Noctis -- "Itineris I" -- CD -- €10 [-50%]
2011 Gradual Hate Records, GH 111CD / Twilight Records, TW 1.84
Aura Noctis is a neoclassical darkwave band from Spain that consists of two members; Olga (Pianist) and Pilar (Cellist). Music is a journey through emotions, representing everything that words cannot describe. Wailing wind interspersed in the forest dream, hazy endless tunnels, or the peace that only in nature you can embrace. Inspired by romanticism, Aura Noctis aims to transport us to those places where the mind had never been, arousing fantasy that is latent within us. Their melodies are the hope that drives away the pain. [label info]

B4 -- "Didaktik National Legendary Rock" -- 2 CD -- €14 [-50%]
2011 Poli5
The band B4 was created accidentally in 1998 at a festival in Turnovo, when it was necessary to replace the missing band. Since then the line-up has been changing with a constant core consisting of keyboardist David Freudlem, guitarist Tomas Prochazka and drummer Leosem Kropackem. Since the beginning they have been playing improvised music based on psychedelia with fragments of noise, jazz and rock with special reference to the specific sound of the former Eastern bloc. B4 is probably the only Czech group actively involved in krautrock. Their studio recordings and live performances can be completely different, as in cases of Can or Nurse With Wound they are homogeneous stream of wild improvisation. Like with the British band The Bays they can say that "performance is the product". Years ago the band decided to use only historical analogue instruments: Vermona organ, Korg and Siel analog keyboards, tape echoes and replicas of Italian wow-pedals from sixties... B4 are inspired by Czech musicians Peter and Paul Ormovy, Steve Reich, the projects Medeski, Martin and Wood, Einstuerzende Neubauten and especially by two songs of the project Money Mark "Information Contraband" and "Push the Button". B4 has recorded and released several CDRs by their own, and in 2010 they had their first official release "Ringo George Paul John" on Poli5. Now their cooperation with the label continues with the release of the double album "Didaktik National Legendary Rock"... The album was recorded during the five day session at a cottage in Hornim Prysku without any preparations. The first CD contains nine songs moving between krautrock, retrofuturism, lounge and film music. With rich layers of noise, this album is characterized with non-standard usage of equipment, turntables and tape recorder. Most tracks on the CD are instrumental, other songs are in Czech, English, Hungarian and French... The second CD contains remixes or more alternative versions of these songs, reworked into totally different tracks. The overall feeling is different, with freak-country sound, a psychedelic hybrid of blues and garage noise and stoner rock. The inspiration for the first disc were mainly Zdenek Liska and Ennio Morriconne, for the second disc particularly Captain Beefheart, delta blues and African music... "Didaktik National Legendary Rock" is a labyrinth of sounds intended to make audience curious and inquisitive with a sense of extreme audio adventure. [label info]
Balata -- "We Are All Terrorists" -- CD-R -- €7 [-50%]
2011 Heart & Crossbone, HCB 034
As the veneer of the democracy rapidly continues to fade in Israel, no clapping hands will welcome Balatas' debut album anytime soon. So we better get this out while we still can: This new joint venture of politically-charged hardcore-doom-noise by Lietterschpich members David Opp and Aviad Albert is named after a Palestinian refugee camp (the largest one in the West Bank), and cleverly translates the arbitrary resolutions of the Israeli government, the systematic cruelty of the Israeli army and the apathy of the Israeli citizens, into a merciless and resonant attack of curved ballistic beats, splattered cut-up noises and anguished rebukes that lead to one major conclusion: We Are All Terrorists. And yet, it's not even a new realization or a shrewd homage to The Pop Groups' classic "We Are All Prostitutes", as much as it's a precise observation of the latest outgrowth to cascade in the Israeli states' decomposing moral body. Bianchi, Maurizio / M.B. -- "Computers S.p.A. / Com.SA" -- 2 CD -- €14 [-50%]
2010 At War With False Noise, ATWAR077, (ltd. 500)
Second in the At War series of early CD issues of tapes by noise legend MB. Both these albums are lofi, featuring very primitive use of synthesiser, tape loops and tape manipulation. There's a real charm and otherwordly feel to them, There's something very precient about MB's explorations into the computer world with his sounds on these records, particularly given the nature of most modern noise music and how nobody still has managed to replicate the feeling of his early works with the technology available. As ever, highly recommended to all with an interest in noise music and it's history. [press-release]

Bianchi, Maurizio / M.B. -- "Technology 1 & 2" -- 2 CD -- €14 [-50%]
2009 At War With False Noise, ATWAR048, (ltd. 500)
First time ever on CD for these early tapes by one of the most important figures in noise/electronic history, Maurizio Bianchi. These two discs were originally issued on tape in 1981 and have been bootlegged and cut into oblivion since then; this is the first time they've been made available digitally and fully uncut. Technology 1 has two long 25 min+ songs, both in a similar vein and showing MB taking a more subtle melodic approach than a lot of his early works; analogue synth and organ combine to make some truly morose but ultimately uplifting music, whilst all the time reminded of the "technology" slant via laser gun blasts, hisses and bleeps. Technology 2 is a little more caustic in its approach: there are no moments of playful organ or robotic beeps, this is a far more barren journey. It brings to mind very much a sense of alienation, like being marooned on some strange, distant planet. Almost like the nigthmare to "Technology 1"s day dream... I'm incredibly chuffed to be putting out the music of such a legendary figure and very pleased with how this set came together. This is the first in a series of reissues of MB's early work on CD. *Please note that Technology 1 can also be found (in truncated form) of Vinyl On Demand's amazing LP boxset MB Archives. I highly recommend seeking it out. [press-release]

Surprisingly, after several years of successful existence, this is the first factory pressed CD for the two leading Czech experimental outfits. For this split they both used the recordings made during the Babi Leto festival celebrating two years of existence of Poli5 label. Two different approaches to contemporary improvisation. BBNU as always use turntables and sound generators, Ruinu uses large number of processors and trivial sound sources. Both sound like a mosaic. [label info]
Calarco, Juan Jose & Velez, David -- "Bahias" -- CD -- €10 [-50%]
2011 Semperflorens, sf06, (ltd. 500)
On December of 2009 Juan Jose Calarco and David Velez captured sound from bays near the cities of Buenos Aires and NYC respectively. They exchanged files for over two years until mid 2011 when the piece was finalized. The artists wanted to explore the opposite weather conditions as an element of difference and the site where they will record (bays) as an element of concurrence to support their site recording work. On the compositional process the artists make gestural and intuitive use of those recordings based on mere formal and aesthetic considerations: Concrete sounds used as material to build new experiences on the listener's conscience where the perception of space and time is altered and distorted under artistic acoustic means. Cult Of Youth -- "A Stick To Bind, A Seed To Grow" -- CD -- €13
2012 Der Angriff, Nr. 40, (ltd. 450)
Der Angriff and Indiestate Distribution proudly present a long awaited CD reissue of a brilliant debut Cult Of Youth album which has been released as an LP on DAIS Records in 2008. This american combo is now tending to be more root rock oriented gaining high success in more mainstream "new angry young men" audience. But this debut work is a pure old school neofolk, reminding of early days Death In June and Sol Invictus, with young raw power, aggression, extreme sincerity and great hooky melodies. This version has totally new mastering, so the sound is clearly different from the vinyl release and it has now become proper as artists think. CD also has 6 bonus tracks including the ones from the first 7" and the first CDR on Axiomata as well as a couple of previously unreleased ones. This edition is limited to 450 copies and comes in a special foldout envelope with cardboard inner sleeve and three postcard inserts with lyrics and photos. [press-release]
Culver / Seppuku -- "Dedicated To Soledad Miranda" -- CD -- €10 [-50%]
2009 At War With False Noise, atwar043, (ltd. 500)
Very proud to get this one out! First time on CD for both these bands: Culver, possibly the most under-appreciated "experimental" musician in the UK who's been making some of the most awe-inspiring drone/noise for years. For those of you who don't know, Lee Stokoe plays bass in Geordie post-whatever geniuses Marzuraan as well as being the current foil to Matthew Bower's walls of scraping guitar noise in Skullflower, but Culver is his "main" project. On this CD he gives us a 30 min+ deluge of harrowing bassy drone. It starts off like the sound of the generator from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and similarly purveys a sense of crawling dread at what is to come. Soon things get more desperate before being crushed into oblivion by a wall of crushing amplifier noise, which slowly develops into a more sedative shifting tone that wouldn't have been out of place on a Conrad Schnitzler record in the 70s. Perfect!... Seppuku give us two tracks in very different styles....first track "Inga" sees a full band play some unbearably heavy doom. Ushered in by what sounds like a tolling bell, this gives way to some Throbbing Gristle-esque hydraulic pumping before the guitars kick in and everything is laid to waste. Brutal low frequencies and inhuman low/screaming vokilllllls....heavy duty! Second track Emanuelle is enhanced by the appearance of Deek and Stevie from Messiah Complex; sounds very post-industrial power electronics, with walls of bleak static forming the backbone of the track, interspersed with what sounds like post-apocalyptic winds of death, and some distorted lines of screeched vocal. Unpleasant... Comes in a jewel case with a 12-page glossy booklet featuring pics of my favourite euro-babes. Released in tribute to the most beautiful woman to have ever graced the world with her presence, Soledad! [press-release]

Drone ambient noise. Ufa Muzak presents the new release made after a gig happened on April 15th, 2011 in Yaroslavl, Russia. This disc contains the full fragment of performance of the Moscow based project Dasein. This is cold, evil, but inwardly bright noise blast in space where it swooned for the purpose of examination and understanding. More than half an hour of powerful furious flow inside of which happens nothing that can be marked as usual or trivial. The projects nature of sound immediately brings the listener into an altered state of mind. The heartbeat quickens, the visual acuty increases, the level of adrenaline in blood rises, all hearing is focused on the psycho-physical affect and soon one looses his orientation in time. What is it needed for? The specific historical moment is taken as a concept of this action, and for deeper understanding of its essence we present this experience of taking the thinking from the objective reality in deep movements of the past. "Bayonets into the ground!" 1 track, 29 minutes, cardboard sleeve + 2 cards. [press-release]

Factor X -- "022" -- CD -- €10
2011 Monochrome Vision, mv36
factor X started in June 1983 in Paignton as a conceptual music project by Shaun Robert. Since then, a lot of tapes were released, on labels like Drahtfunk Products, Schimpfluch, SPH, Jeremy Bamber Tapes, BV Tapes, Intransitive Recordings and Old Europa Cafe. The collaborative CD with TAC and Runzelstirn & Gurgelstock was published by Harsh Dept. in 1996, it has been quiet for many years, but now Shaun Robert emerged again with some new projects like Mutant Beatniks etc. It's a good time to remember his old and quite obscured recordings from the 80s!.. "022 was put together over the year 1985, there's a sound on here that take me right back to the time I recorded them, the first that comes to mind is the recording of a fire engine from the roof top where I was living, and the squeaking bed sounds from a flat I moved into later. I'd listen to the parts over and over, it's all very basically put together, with a technic I was using at the tape which was, three tape machines, two playing and one recording, and we're talking Radio Shack not even Pioneer. An extra thing I should mention, is that there was a 7" single part with the tape, I think I did a edition of 25, and sent them to poor devils I had the addresses of. I can only remember one good response from this guy in Portugal, a DJ on some radio station, he sent me this wonderful letter back saying how much he loved the record, and tried to play it out, but nearly got the sack. The single were second hand from a bargain bin, scratched to pieces, you could play them but destroy your stylus. I put labels on them so there was really no way of knowing who had originally done the little disc. The cover for the single was a drawing I did of an angular man, starting his walk down a path, a picture that has so what hung in my mind, think about now, after listening to 022, while recording it off to put up, there is a connection with the aboriginal content that's on the tape." 2008 self-released
Moscow based band The Forced Oscillations was formed in 2005 as a duo and first played electronic stuff. With the influence of the band Notchnoi Prospekt (a psychedelic electro-rock band of Alexei Borisov and Ivan Sokolov) they reworked the sound and whole idea, going on with post-punk sound, enhanced with some non-standard features. As a homage to Notchnoi Prospekt, The Forced Oscillations covered their song “Acids” – a revolutionary track, full of apocalyptic fear and industrial madness, literally. The hymn of a collapsing empire, after 20 years it has a value once again. During 2006-2008 the song was rearranged few times and the final version was recorded – the band’s trademark. The remixes were made by fellow musicians: Vitalij Lebedev (Haloed Ghost), Ted Newsom (revideolized, Melodramus), Levan Lomidze (Fashion Suicide, Didactic Scalica), The:Het; Tbilisi-89 is a The Forced Oscillations side-project. Absolutely chuffed to be putting this out after talking about it for literally years. FRU is one of the absolute best drone bands not just in the UK but on the planet and over the past few years I've seen Fraser (and then Fraser and Grant) play some of the most dense, suffocatingly heavy drone noise time and time again that has only been surpassed by the untouchable Culver. Lee Stokoe's work is a good basis for comparison if you're a FRU virgin and they tread similar sound-in-a-vaccum stasis and churning, crunching, collapsing-building noise as Gateshead's finest. This band is a major force in its own right though and there's a real foreboding horror movie atmosphere going on here. Really glad to be bringing this band to a bigger audience and I just hope this leads to giving these guys the attention they so thoroughly deserve! 500 copies jewel case, co-release with BRAW RECORDS of Edinburgh. Funerary Call is a project of Canadian musician Harlow MacFarlane also known for his project Sistrenatus. Funerary Call was formed in 1993 and is heralded as one of the progenitors of black ambient music. Now the project returns from dormancy with his darkest release to date. "Dark Waters Stirred" is a ceremonial maelstrom of ominous electronics and dark ambient textures, an audial descent into ritualistic obscurity and misanthropy. Features guest appearances from the likes of Deathlord (Blasphemy, ex-Conqueror), and Troy Southgate (H.E.R.R., Seelenlicht) amongst others. [label info]

Gruel -- "s/t" -- CD -- €10 [-50%]
2010 At War With False Noise, ATWAR090, (ltd. 500)
CD issue of this instant classic of avant-sludge. This is the only recording Gruel made, or will ever make since they announced their recent split, and what a testament it is! Like The Melvins playing King Crimson's "Red" album, this is at both theatrical, beautifully composed, and troglodyte-ianly heavy. Utterly immersive, each passage of quiet atmospherics is shattered by a barrage of brilliant repetitious riffing. Four 15 minute-long songs and it's totally captivating from start to finish. Will definitely be right up the alleys of those into Melvins, Swans, Grief, Throbbing Gristle, Goblin, Harvey Milk etc etc etc. 500 copies in a stickered PVC sleeve, with the disc wrapped in a big double-sided full colour poster. [press-release]
Human Greed -- "Black Hill: Midnight At The Blighted Star" -- CD -- €10 [-50%]
2008 Lumberton Trading Company, LUMB011
The third album by Edinburgh's finest exponents of often haunting, yet always touching, ebb and flow. Includes very special guest appearances by Julia Kent (Antony and the Johnsons, Blind Cave Salamander), Fabrizio Modonese Palumbo (Blind Cave Salamander, Larsen), David Tibet (Current 93) and Clodagh Simonds (Fovea Hex). Gathering together material quite possibly amounting to their most accomplished yet, 'Black Hill...' is akin to being caught in the trail of a shooting star heading to the very place where dreams, fears, hopes and an overwhelming sense of helpless abandonment teeter over the periphery of yet another rather enticing void. At once beautiful, melancholic, slightly bruised and foreboding, the music here never fails to captivate. Also features fantastic exclusive artwork from Deryk Thomas (otherwise known for work adorning certain sleeves by Swans and Angels Of Light) and Alan McGowan. [press-release]

Jerman, Jeph & Five Elements Music -- "Insecta" -- CD-R -- €8
2011 Still*Sleep, CDR19
A collaboration between American and Russian musicians made with unthinkable precision and beauty. As the title suggests, everything is built on the sound of insects. Grasshoppers, cicadas, clumsy humble-bees, flies, wasps and others are recorded with love and accompanied with the humble rustle of grass, drone coming from remote roads and wind sweeps. A very summer and sultry work. [Abgurd]
JGRUU / Grassa Dato -- "s/t" -- CD-R -- €7 [-50%]

Split between the Peruvian JGRUU and Spanish Grassa Dato. JGRUU moves between the industrial, cosmic music and noise and offer two rough tracks and psychedelic sound. Grassa Dato is meanwhile perhaps one of the biggest revelations of the current (and great) experimental music scene in Madrid, has an extensive track made from the use of pedals, feedback and (what appear to be) voices processed with high dose of noise and rhythms. Totally wild. The collage on the cover is the work of Hector Delgado. Edition of 100 copies on cdr. [label info]

Katchmare -- "Frieda Harris" -- CD-R -- €7 [-50%]
2011 Heart & Crossbone, HCB 036, (ltd. 100)
An algid five tracks Occult homage to Lady Frieda Harris (mostly known as the artist behind Aleister Crowley's Thoth tarot deck) is the case with this new creation by Nick Hoffman aka Katchmare. "Frieda Harris" represents both progression and realization Hoffman explored on previous Katchmare albums that he recorded during winter time, as it substantiates in the 25 minutes album opener "Winterreise" - A gesture to the renowned Schubert winter piece in the shape of saturnine and freezing drones that shifts to "Unseen Chariot", a picturesque track that offers noise washes alongside silent intervals and sensory drones gliding in idiosyncratic space heaven. "Wind Canticle" comes next as a methodical winter hymn with bitter ceremonial qualities, whilst "Shifting Snow" is a short and intimidating segment before "Ulrikke" rigorously end this album with an evident observation: Destruction implies creation. Death implies life. Winter is Death. [press-release]
Kazeria [KZ] -- "Credo Nostrum" -- CD -- €10 [-50%]
2009 Twilight Records, TW 1.59
KAZERIA [KZ] means “Hunt” in Spanish. This is a solo project started and leaded by argentinean composer [S] since 2008. Its new work, “Credo Nostrvm” ("Our Creed"), edited by Twilight Records, has nine tracks inscribed onto a martial, neofolk, neoclassical and dark ambient combination, dealing with some themes that represents [KZ] main topics: the meaning of glory, decadence, eternity, struggle, occult and sacred symbols of forgotten times. [S] spouts out a harsh vision about reality, which could be understood as “active nihilism”. This is its way to relate to this current decaying age which, in [S] words, “must be overcome”. The Hunt has begun... If you are fan of TOROIDH, WAPPENWUND or TRIARII....you will love KZ! [press-release]

Two mysteries from the Russian musician Vitaly Maklakov (Light Collapse, Obozdur, and lots of other projects) from the Urals. Quite cryptic swamp-cosmic drone framed into industrial field recordings. Despite being minimalistic, this is a dense and saturated work with a strong atmosphere.
Liquidarlo Celuloide -- "Cruzyficcion Monosodica" -- CD-R -- €7 [-50%]
2010 Buh Records, BR12
Industrial sounds and hysterical collages meet psychedelic rock. The combination of drums, guitar and keyboard gives its signature sound to Liquidarlo Celuloide, this time more like what is shown in his concerts. But the explorations of such noisy, anarchist, baroque armed pieces assembled from different sources remains the common thread. Cosmic atmospheres and rock. The seamless transition for those who loved “Pradera Tуxica” or “No mas Video” and look for the emotions of noise rock offered by Liquidarlo Celuloide during their live gigs. [label info]

Litvin, Arseny -- "Tiksi" -- CD-R -- €8
2012 BioSonar^Lo-End, 009-2011, (ltd. 23)
Thie work is dedicated to a small polar town of Tiksi located in one of the bays of the Laptev Sea, near the creek of Lena river. This is a port town, serving the most difficult part of the Northern Sea Route. The album is a sound sketch to a journey through this town made by some invivible unearthly mind, notes from a travel diary, quick, shortm but filled with senses of a traveller, expressed by drone-noise means. Cold, echoes of port metal and mysterious visions stuck in frozen land. The album was created from August to November 2011. Post-mastering by BioSonar^Lab. DIY sleeve made by the author. Locrian -- "Drenched Lands" -- CD -- €10 [-50%]
2009 At War With False Noise, ATWAR053 / Small Doses, DOSEFORTYTHREE, (ltd. 1000)
First full-length studio album from one of the most consistently good bands around today, Chicago's Locrian. Drenched Lands is a beautifully thought-out piece of music, from a gentle guitar strum/synth opening (not a million miles away from Culver/Earth "Pentastar"-era territory) which cuts out abruptly just as you're becoming entirely engrossed, only to give way to an epic cavernous drone. The whole thing brings to mind some sort of disused industrial factory or barren post-apocalyptic landscape. Dark tones, noise, keys and the odd well-placed guitar strum combine brilliantly to evoke feeling of desolation, loss, a submission of will....it's almost like the logical conclusion of Neil Young's Dead Man soundtrack; almost tangiential in sound to Earth's recent(ish) "Hex" record. 1000 copies, co-release with Small Doses (US customers buy from them, it'll be cheaper!). Comes in a lovely fold-out printed Stumptown "Arigato Pack" with full-colour 4-page booklet. [press-release]

Luminance Ratio -- "Like Little Garrisons Besieged" -- CD -- €10 [-50%]
2009 Boring Machines, BM 016 / Fratto9 Under The Sky Records, fratto010
LUMINANCE RATIO is a collaborative effort joining sound artists Eugenio Maggi (Cria Cuervos, Slave Auction), Gianmaria Aprile (Ultraviolet Makes Me sick, Fratto9under the sky records) and Andrea Ferraris (Airchamber 3, Ur, Ulna, John Russel, Sil Muir). “Like Little Garrisons Besieged” brings them far from their respective discographies and finds them sailing in the apparently quiet waters of free-folk, electroacoustics and minimal drones. The music, resulting from live sessions and painstaking studio work, is meticulously thought to combine electronics with analog/traditional instruments: laptop, acoustic and electric guitars, cardiod and contact microphones, vibraphone, melodica, glockenspiel, minidisc, rimshot and cymbals, analog synth, percussion, kaoss pad and pedal effects. Featured on this release is Paul Bradley (Twenty Hertz, Monos, etc.)’s personal reinterpretation of their collective work, assembling an expanded “remix concrete” out of the single tracks. Lunde, Eric -- "A World Of Hurt In The Kingdom Of God" -- CD -- €10 [-50%]
2011 Heart & Crossbone, HCB 035
Clock says done. Time has come for the new admonishment from Eric Lunde: An inductive sound revolutionist, a founding member of the Milwaukee avant-industrial noise squad Boy Dirt Car, and an acrimonious underground writer & musician with over 40 solo releases dating back to the mid 80's. "A World Of Hurt In The Kingdom Of God" derives its name from a series of 2-ply plastic engravings Lunde did in 2004, The original title being "A World of Hurt in the Kingdom of Gosh". It is primarily a product of the concerns Lunde still have (and expressed in his book "Prison Sex", from which the majority of the text on this album is taken from) with the latent cruelty of humans in regards to their alleged relationship with a fabricated supernatural being and how is it that religious people have to prove nothing, but the atheist ones have to prove everything. So what's there to be found in Lundes' dragnet this time regarding these issues? A dish of sober mischief noise served cold, bubonic industrial and irate sound poetry created in the detrimental corners of the mind where the proof reproduces the intimate bonds of brutality that men create between themselves. Clock says done. [press-release]
Mossad -- "s/t" -- CD-R -- €7
2011 The IRA and Muzak Struggle, 01
Here we present the first release of UFA MUZAK sublabel. The project is quite interesting and enigmatic. We know that sonic assault is performed by 2 well-known artists from Russian noise underground: Vitaly Maklakov (LIGHT COLLAPSE, KROMESHNA, etc.) and Evgeny Solomatin aka Dr. Feithnathoroth (GORDUW, LILLY, etc.). Any other explanations disppear in conspirological and near-secret technologies comparable with the title of the project. Possible parallels can be found with similar Swedish mystery lovers PROIECT HAT. Musically the album represents strong stratified power noise with lots of discoveries in vein of brutal version of PAINSLUT. And closer to the end Vitaly couldn't help but gave a couple of tracks of evil harsh noise in japanese style, as if he put a period. Cardboard sleeve with an insert. [press-release]

Mystery Hearsay -- "Flesh Tomb" -- CD -- €10
2011 Monochrome Vision, mv38
The music of Mystery Hearsay is synth/guitar based old school post-industrial from the 80s, the classics of hometaping aesthetics, psychedelic noise trips with some rhythmic parts and fuzzy vocals. This is the first proper CD album including the remastered tracks from "Flesh Tomb" tape, and from "Unifur" tape originally released as LARB album back in 1986... Crawling back from Die-hard damnation and clearing out the cobwebs in 2004 one will find the trilogy of Zeromoon CD-r releases. These along with a interpretation 3 inch release curated bit by bit ala Cornucopia crew of Jorge Castro (PR) are all available on www.archive.org. The submitted tracks were cured and preserved by MC Ladno aka Jeff Surack of uber intelligence and organizer of Sonic Circuit festivities - a master of Quantification with a CAPITAL K. Here and now we retro blast into the end of 2010 when the lid was about to drop on the tomb. Sprouting from a chance meeting in northeast tennessee the burial ground gets raided again. Thus Kuwahara was birthed in the lab of M. Peck and his label Waiting World Records. The debut CD release [Honeycult] opened the womb for the Cultivation series of interpretations and remixes. Volume one contributions by Wilt,Lagowski,Steve Brand,Brian Sanders and topped off with two newer tracks. It is insane and impossible to compress three decades into a few paragraphs. Objekt4 -- "Her Face Among The Shadows" -- CD -- €10 [-50%]
2004/2006 Ravenheart, RAVEN 43
The name of the person behind Objekt4 is Anders Peterson and the music is roughly described as experimental ambient with minimal rhythms. The opening track of the album “Seclusion” already shows all of the elements mentioned and even when a few tracks are more towards experimental ambient, for example “Among The Shadows” and “Nowhere Everywhere”. Other tracks show a more IDM-like approach of the ambience which can be found in other Swedish projects known from the Cold Meat Industry label. Examples of this latter approach are for example the quite hectic “Her Face” and “Foreverneverendeverend” which has a very spooky atmosphere which reminded me of the original version of “The Ring” (please be aware that that is a great compliment coming from me). All in all this is a very nice album which will definitly appeal to people who like Scandinavian (read: cold atmospheric) projects like Biosphere, Sephiroth, Desiderii Marginis and Atomine Electrine. Opus Nigrum -- "Journey In The Dark" -- CD -- €10 [-50%]
2009 Twilight Records, TW 1.58
Opus Nigrum, offers a magical experience, with sound that is characterized by impressive compositions, enigmatic melodies, atmospheric, dark, with choral and orchestral arrangements that turn into impressive works of art. Ritual music, neoclassical, epic passages with a strong hermetic alchemical symbolism. Based on three stages in the alchemical process by which the soul passes through many incarnations in its evolution to achieve a state of perfection; the three stages of the alchemical process philosophy: Nigredo, Albedo and Rubedo. Opus Nigrum is the dissolution and calcining phase of the form, which is the hardest part of the Great Work, it is the "dark" of the human psyche, emotions, intuitions, perceptions and thoughts buried in the denial of mind, being an introspective journey, an internal search that will go though a gloomy passages, such as war, desire, envy ..., culminating in the Red Work, in the Philosopher's Stone, in The Gold. Cinematographic opus, where battles, temples, warriors are looming, where sacrifices are offer to honor of the ancient gods. [press-release]

Page, Mike -- "s/t" -- CD -- €10 [-50%]
2008 At War With False Noise, ATWAR042, (ltd. 500)
First "solo" album from the incomparable Mike Page, he of Fire In The Head, Sky Burial etc etc. When I got sent the original cut of this record he put a note in saying something like "Here's my new record...no PE, no ambient, JUST NOISE". Whilst this IS a departure from a lot of what he's known for, it would be a travesty to describe this as JUST noise. What you get here is one lengthy plunge into the depths of carefully-constructed aural extremity, utterly loud and heavy as fuck and utilising as many extremes of tone that your poor lugs can take! Sometimes it all goes a bit quiet and you think there's going to be an extended period of aural respite...until some shrieking high-end comes in and blows away any idea of shelter from the onslaught. I was really disappointed when Mike announced he was giving up F/I/T/H but if he keeps up this level of intensity and sheer bloodyminded bludgeon the future's bright. 500 copies on CD. Great FEAR - MORE BEER rip-off artwork (brilliant band, shite album eh!). [press-release]

Re123+ -- "Magi" -- CD -- €6
2010 BadMoodMan Music, BMM 031-10
Drone Doom / Post Metal. The debut official release from a unique Belorussian band. The music of Re123+ is an act of meditation. Each time the band offers to a listener another kind of sound, never repeats itself preparing a special program for each concert. “Magi” is a travel to the Past demonstrating the ancient story of Adoration of Magi to the listener as an astrological story. This is the attempt to understand and to see the true essence of matter while clearing it from various interpretations. This album like all other Re123+ works was recorded during night time. Besides traditional drone-touched guitars the musicians introduced sounds of accordion, triangle and percussion. Stylistically their music varies from drone-doom to post-rock and will surely suit the tastes of early Earth fans. For proper visualization of the album’s idea the booklet includes photo art by members of Re123+ accompanied by citations from «The Island of the Day Before» by famous postmodernist Umberto Eco. Riek, Lasse-Marc -- "Saison Concrete" -- CD -- €10
2011 Semperflorens, sf07, (ltd. 500)
Sounds of the four seasons, condensed into one acoustic valuable – that describes the work of conceptual artist Lasse-Marc Riek. Birds migrating in late summer, livestock returning from the alps in fall and April's showers are some of the more recognizable incidents. Above all, the artist forms a fascinating soundscape by working with a huge variety of sounds and noises, and with each acoustic part he creates a composition complete by itself. Saison Concrete – coltish and jaunty or unfathomable melancholic – cover the span of a whole year. Thus, Riek's journeys through nature's sounds subtly turn into reflections about the nature of sounds. [Stefan Militzer]

Sistema Bezopasnosti -- "Debitum Et Fides" -- 2 CD -- €12
2011 Heimdall Records
The new album of Sistema Bezopasnosti, one of the few currently active Russian dark folk bands. Their music is heroical and lyrical militaristic apocalyptic folk recorded by the canons of the genre: marching rhythms, acoustic guitar, bass, piano, trumpet and some amount of electronics. The band's style is easily recognizable by its lyrics and ecstatic vocals of the band's leader VlaD Doronin, and also by lush but thoroughly thoughtful musical arrangements. The songs sang in Russian language are dedicated both to the present-day themes of the dominance of non-spirituality, and to the timeless philosophical questions. Here's also some place for simple human feelings. The album also features a couple of nice instrumental tracks... The second CD contains the album "Cosmogony and Eschatology" (2008) previously not released on physical media. This opus is dedicated to the Scandinavian mythology and shows completely different side of the band, particularly it's skills in working with analogue electronic sound. Rich multilayered instrumental compositions, each of them like a trip with complete plot. This is not purely an ambient work, here is enough space for pompous battle scenes, electro ritual atmospheres and noisy moments... The album is released in a double digisleeve with an 8-page booklet containing lyrics and photos.

Known for split records with bands such as Corrupted, Grief, Floor, Upsidedown Cross, Noothgrush etc etc, this album sees Sloth in a much more musically diverse frame of mind than usual. The painful sludge noise is still there but there's an altogether more considered approach. There's piano on it for fuck's sake. Weird lo-fi songs that sound like they were written by a fucked up kid mix sit happily with garage rock high end jams and tar pit slo-mo doom dirges. The "13 samples" are bang on and the humour is as bizarre and hilarious as ever. The release contains all 17 tracks Sonne Hagal played on its live performance made in October 2008 in Saint-Petersburg and recorded to multi-channel device with later studio mix. As bonus tracks it also has 4 instrumental pieces made as intros for various live events the band made during recent years, which were included in the vinyl version released by Fronte Nordico in 2010. Perfect quality of performance and recording made this album one of the best live releases in this genre ever, and this CD edition will be interesting not only to the hardcore fans of the band, but surely for the wider audience as well. This edition is limited to 215 copies and comes in a special foldout envelope with cardboard inner sleeve and three postcard inserts. [press-release]

Subklinik -- "Musik For Dekomposition" -- CD -- €10 [-50%]
2010 Fall Of Nature Records, FN06
Since 1996, Subklinik has continued to create some of the darkest Death Industrial / necro-soundscapes in existence. Enter "Musik For Dekomposition", the latest full length from Subklinik, featuring six torturous expressions that convey a foreboding atmosphere abundant with feelings of death, and isolation, manifested through a sonic vortex of analogue filth and decay. Thomas Bey William Bailey -- "Strangelet" -- CD -- €10 [-50%]
2009 Belsona Strategic, BSS099
Previously known as The Domestic Front, Thomas Bey Wiliam Bailey now operates under his own name. Which is something more and more people do and did. Who remembers Crawl Unit, since long known as Joe Colley? As The Domestic Front he delivered some pretty interesting releases that were surely noise based, but which always seemed be more than just pointless attacks of brutality. Here on ‘Strangelet’ things start out in a pretty heavy feedback mode, but quite soon returns to the form of The Domestic Front, and were the great power lies of Bailey: the sound collage. He does hard edits in the music, swiftly changing from one thing to another, while sometimes he lets a few layers continue. Throughout it seems to me however that this first release under his name is overall a more louder one than the previous releases. Things are full on, all the time. That seems to be a new feature here, even with the edits he made. I always say I don’t like noise for noise’s sake, but when things are played here this forcefully and with so much care, intelligent noise I could even say, than I’m fully interested. A pretty intense release, even in its quieter moments, such as in ‘The Sanctity Of Sloth’. Digital noise with an intelligent edge. [FdW, Vital Weekly]

Torturing Nurse -- "Il Comunismo Doveva Morire" -- CD -- €10 [-50%]
2010 Mind Flare Media, MFM003
Mind Flare Media's first official release from Torturing Nurse. This absolutely devastating CD contains one track running almost an hour and fourteen minutes. Power electronic landscapes, screaming, it's the most destructive release these guys have done to date. This one just goes to show why the band is one of the most important underground/experimental acts in China today. This album places them at the top of a heap of chaos, and the artwork throws it all together with revamped, old school propaganda given a modern, cryptic twist. [press-release]

We Wait For The Snow -- "Lullabies From Our Dreams" -- CD -- €10 [-50%]
2007 FinalMuzik, FM09, (ltd. 600)
We Wait For The Snow project was born in the Winter season of 2004/05. The founding member of the project is Andrea Penso, alredy active with Selaxon Lutberg and Cold Current label, helped by her old friend Simone Zuccolin. The sound is deliberately lo-fi, and it is created exclusively with economical instruments: acoustic and electric guitars, cheap keyboards, accordeon, farfisa, varius non-musical objects, flute, toys, percussions, tapes... The aim is creating a confidential atmosphere through the balance between "dream" and "sadness". You can find this sense of precarious balance in the songs that alternate moments of pure improvisation with much more studied and controlled tracks. "Lullabies From Our Dreams" is the band's first official album; the songs are about dreams, lullabies and tales from the forest, stories of stones, woods, leaves, dead men, big trees, and girls that speak with demons... for fans of raw, occult and lo-fi recordings, Fursaxa, Troum, Current 93, Jackie O'Motherfu**er, Islaja, drone music and neo psych-folk, folk noir, field recordings, concrete noise and acoustic melodies... in few words, Troum meet Espers, or something like that! Beautiful digi-sleeve, limited to 600 copies. [press-release]
Whetham, Simon -- "Meditations on Light" -- 2 CD -- €15
2011 Monochrome Vision, mv35
In 2009 Simon Whetham was commissioned by painter Kathryn Thomas to compose a surround sound composition and installation to accompany her Darkspace project, a series of paintings inspired by the infinity of the cosmos, which was exhibited as part of her biggest solo exhibition to date, 'Lightyears'... The composition was also mixed down to a stereo version, mastered by Scanner, and released on Simon's own label, Traceable Echoes, to be available to visitors of the exhibition. Many other artists heard the work and gave praise to this departure from Simon's work up until that point, as for the first time he had composed with much more musical elements, and an idea emerged. Simon was already planning his own reworking of the raw materials of 'Lightyears', as he felt the brief was very restrictive, and wanted to hear the results of using the same material without these constraints. He also offered the opportunity to all artists who responded positively to the work to produce their own characteristic interpretation of the composition. Here are the results; a common thread is evident, but very individual voices are heard, leading you on an immersive, engaging journey... [label info]

Zavoloka -- "Vedana" -- CD -- €10 [-50%]
2011 Kvitnu, KVITNU 16
This is second volume from series of albums dedicated to Purification by Four Elements: Water. The music is composed by Kateryna Zavoloka, transmitting different states of water and how they can be specifically translated to the sound. Low frequencies as a depth, traditional vocal as surface of sonic water. This album is a result of 2-years research, including work at Electroacoustic Music Studio at Academy of Music in Cracow and concerts-performances in collaboration with live generative interactive visuals from Laetitia Morais. It is exploration of Water Element. It is inspired by knowledge about Ukrainian Cossacks-Magicians, so-called Kharakternyky, that could control forces of nature, particularly water. They used to drink spring water to purify their energy and to became undistinguished and fluid as water. To reach inner melting. [label info]

V/A -- "Oredezh" -- CD -- €10 [-50%]
2011 Fulldozer Records, FDCD 33, (ltd. 1000)
On the New 2012 Year's eve Fulldozer Records proudly presents our new full-length release. The music research topic is "Oredezh" - a beautiful river in the south-west of Leningradskaya Oblast' (rural area around Saint Petersburg), mentioned in the 1240 chronicles in connection with "the forced christening of Russia". Legends have it that when Russia was being christened, local inhabitants went to hide in forests, some to organize guerrilla groups, others simply to take refuge... Just for this release several well-known musicians and sound-artists came up with their interpretations of the raw pagan black metal track that gave the compilation it's name. The compilation is not a single or compilation of remixes, or "pagan" compilation. We wanted to create large musical canvas with varying sound in which interesting artists from all over the world would express their opinions and their points of view on this theme using the universal ways of musical language. Participants: BEHERIT (FIN), PBK (USA), FARMACIA (ARG), ADAM EBRINGER (AUS), EDWARD SOL (UKR), BARDOSENETICCUBE (RUS), RAJFAJH (RUS), BENZOLNYE MERTVECY (RUS), ALEXANDER BELKOV (RUS), KRYPTOGEN RUNDFUNK (RUS), COAXIL (RUS), PORCH NAP (RUS), SIVYJ YAR (RUS). V/A -- "The Sound Ecology: Range" -- CD -- €13
2011 Nitkie, patch two, (ltd. 500)
With this first installment of compilation series devoted to the sound art, we propose the selection of works by talented musicians, whose way of sound matter representation is very interesting and absolutely different. Here, the sound ecology term seems to have nothing in common with any movements and organized societies, it’s just a metaphor for the creation of something refreshing in our contaminated world where the music often is considered as the consumption product only. This is also the platform for discussions, since the range of opinions is also important for us. We hope that you will have the opportunity to discover the world of music just near your living place, like some of the artists did, and open your ears for the adventurous listening. We are looking forward to see the forthcoming contributions and ideas from likeminded people... Exclusive tracks by MATHIEU RUHLMANN, YANNICK DAUBY, MICHAEL NORTHAM, JOHN GRZINICH, FRANCISCO LOPEZ, JEPH JERMAN, RALF WEHOWSKY, MURMER, CHRISTOPHER MCFALL, ERIC LA CASA and CEDRIC PEYRONNET... Banana Pill / Calypso Borealis -- split -- MC -- €5
2011 Full Of Nothing, fon24, (ltd. 100)
On the reversed-pyramid-side of this tape you will find Banana Pill, a young Russian-Finnish family residing in Helsinki. You kind of know what to expect already, right? Their drones are fragile and nostalgic. Layered melodic pieces, cascading synth patterns, violin and guitar and a little bit of delayed pizzicato grooving. A purest emotion shining though the sound. As simple and as cool as that. The lone French psych-head Calypso Borealis is occupying the paper-plane-side. Kindest, softest, yet murky as mist compositions bring the coolest evening sofa experiences. Chilling mix of synths, field recordings, kalimba - one can only guess what else. We don't even know this guy's name but the stuff he's been putting out is top notch! Each cassette comes with a tiny 8-page zine with drawings by Ivan. There are many color variations. [label info]
Lunar Abyss -- "Yolgva" -- C-46 -- €8
2012 BioSonar^Lo-End, 012/2012 tape, (ltd. 13)
Raw live recording from a gig happened on November 1st, 2004 in Experimental Sound Gallery (GEZ-21), with NikNik (Hladna) and first appearence of M.M. (Kryptogen Rundfunk). It all starts with low-key field recordings, guitar loops and mouth harp planks, and closer to the middle develops into spontaneous noise blasts, all second half of the performance is raw shamanic drone noise with tough analogue pulsations and crackling of metal objects trapped in chains of sound effects. And of course voice signals of E.S. and NikNik. The correct atmosphere of the gig was intensified by a video. Essential material for those interested in project's history. DIY cardboard box with b/w stickers and inserts. [press-release]
Lunar Abyss Deus Organum -- "Kujvo" -- C-60 -- €9
2012 L.SH., (ltd. 28)
A modest release on a mysterious label from Leningrad, related to the Heliophagia movement. The conceptual cassette series L.SH. opens with a recording of L.A.D.O., long time gathering dust on a shelf, but being not less interesting than nowadays recordings. This is a weaving of threads of tales and visions of polar lands, reindeer herders' and hunters' dreams. Side A: three pieces consequently take listener's attention through the horizons of life substances of the water world with its dances of ringed seals; the world of earthly beings; and the air world of winds, of star and solar light. Side B focuses attention on the force of warmth and heat as the most rare and important for life in subpolar areas - this is not the exhausting heat of southern countries, but hardly seen smudging light of an oil lamp in a tent, the warmth of living beings in an icy desert. The sounds of this album consist of many field recordings, ethnographic and home-made sketches, mouth harp playing and voice loops, all this is flavoured with distant radionoises and rustles. Marchetti, Lionel -- "Alpha Z Centauris" -- MC -- €7
2011 Mirror Tapes, MT010, (ltd. 250)
New limited cassette album from this contemporary French concrete composer: with a title like Alpha Z Centauri it’s hard not to evoke the praeterhuman drones of early Tangerine Dream and it does have a heavy alien tongue/shortwave from the stars feel, almost like an indecipherable alien communication, with what sounds like channelled voices churning inside restless cosmic electronics. As the piece builds it starts to accrue all sorts of sonic strata, with voices becoming gradually clearer and endless tone sparkling like deep starfields as it moves in fractal shapes towards the infinite centre of the universe. [David Keenan, Volcanic Tongue]
Pustota -- "Magnituda" -- C-46 -- €8
2012 BioSonar^Lo-End, 013/2012 tape, (ltd. 9)
An experience in multiple (dozens of times) cyclic re-recocrings of five empty audio cassettes made in USSR, step by step distortion of upsound based on defects of tape and commutation, partly electrostatic effects and effect of electromagnetic interference amplified by a tube preamp inserted between the tape recorders. By conceptual non-intervention in the process of noise-making the many-sided field result was achieved, aside from thechnical interest it can also show the aesthetic and even psychedelic aspects, being a detached acoustic concept. Commonly used cassettes from 90-s (type 1) serve as a media. Artwork - collage DIY box with absurd inserts. [press-release]
Pustota -- "Vega" -- C-46 -- €8
2012 BioSonar^Lo-End, 014/2012 tape, (ltd. 9)
Oceans of analogue noise, rustling and magnet overcrackles. Flies in electromagnetic clouds and currents. Conceptual noise sketch made using technical errors of the Soviet tape-transport unit "Vega MP-122-stereo" and multiple serial re-recordings of "highly hissing" cassettes on high speed, situational distortions as a result of changes of tape type and volume of re-recordings. When I was making soundcheck before a gig with this material, the soundman said: "I can't put this channel up, there's some weird feedback, some noise". Used studio cassettes from 90-s (type 1) serve as a media. Artwork - collage DIY box with absurd inserts. [press-release]
Schnitzler, Conrad & Seidelm Wolfgang -- "Consequenz 010B" -- MC -- €7
2011 Mirror Tapes, MT008, (ltd. 250)
Another excellent cassette on the great Mirror Tapes, Consequenz 010B documents a meeting between Conrad Schnitzler – still the greatest exponent of austere Industrial synth and electronics – and long-term collaborator Wolfgang Seidel. Recorded in an abandoned subterranean bunker beneath the Tempelhof Airport in Berlin, the atmosphere is suitably macabre and claustrophobic, with Schnitzler generating some of his most psychedelic creations, ranging from wobbly purple architectures of electronics through ominous blocks of silence torn apart by invasions of odd keyboard melodies and sudden bursts of noise. The feel is highly ritualistic, almost like a seance, and there’s a weight to the music that is lacking in some of Schnitzler’s later work, a seriousness and a weight of execution that makes this one of his best contemporary recordings. [David Keenan, Volcanic Tongue]
Thomas Bey William Bailey -- "Progressive Lycanthropy" -- MC -- €8
2010 Mirror Tapes, MT002, (ltd. 200)
Thomas Bey William Bailey is a multi-disciplinary artist, educator, and cultural re-searcher, whose work has manifested itself as books, articles, music releases, sound installations, experimental radio shows, and completely undocumented or personal creative actions / interventions... The Progressive Lycanthropy package includes one professionally duplicated cassette as well as a handsome information booklet (also pro-duplicated), in which TBWB explains his motivations in an exclusive essay “A Weapon For The Wolf Age” (the booklet also includes a number of other illustrations and surprises along the theme of wolves, nature and modern warfare.) The three epic pieces on the cassette were built up from a “feraliminal lycanthropizer” drone, an experimental binaural frequency supposedly used by the military as an “audio truth serum” or as a combat stimulant- as the name suggests, this technique was meant to hurl individuals into “wolf-like” states where they would careen between poles of focused rage and woozy ecstasy. Complemented with other sonic ornamentation and digitally-manipulated samples, this material is an eerie interpretation of the ‘lycanthropized’ state as it might exist in a hyper-modern, technology-driven society. Conducted in the spirit of the d.i.y. audio research that characterized the ‘industrial music’ era, this material should have a wide range of effects on individual listeners, from restlessness to wild abandon, and as such does come with a disclaimer not to play while experiencing high stress levels or while engaged in potentially dangerous activities (driving motor vehicles, handling firearms.) If you have ever wanted to travel to a world where fur and fangs mesh with integrated circuits to form an invincible hybrid, here is your ticket. [label info]

Author & Punisher -- "Drone Machines" -- CD -- €10 [-50%]
2010 Heart & Crossbone, HCB 028
By squelching, triggering, amputating, stretching and tormenting sounds achieved from the execution of heavy machinery into vivid instruments, Tristan Shone, the man behind Author & Punisher, offers "Drone Machines", One of thee most eviscerated and innovating albums to come out in years. Nonetheless, "Drone Machines" is beyond avantgarde, in that exciting sense that it brings together slow-paced DOOM whips, modern technology, an eerie flood of vile drones and heavy machinery in a whole new perspective. It's also an album that is reviving the INDUSTRIAL METAL genre from its ashes and rephrasing the primeval passion for that classic bestial drum pound with rancid low end and sonic-metallic scraping - and this unblemished contrast - between concrete innovation and the reinvigoration of lost sounds, is exactly what makes "Drone Machines" such an important, groundbreaking and iconic album. For years to come... Recommended if you like Godflesh, HALO, Swans, Human Queena Orchestra, Dead World, Grave in the Sky, Khanate, Black Mayonnaise, Caspar Br–tzmann Massaker, Trust Obey etc. [press-release]

Bardoseneticcube -- "Noosphere" -- CD -- €10
2008 Monochrome Vision, mv24
New album by russian project Bardoseneticcube dealing with theory of russian scientist Vladimir Vernadsky about collective consciousness, emerging from the interaction of human minds. The continuos computer-generated music, minimally changing but reaching maximum concentration, comes as the one long track, designed for your mind challenge. "The universe is full of endless and omnipresent information fields, different in their energy/meaning potentials. Some of them are accessible for people who are using it extensively, others are intended only for machines that seem to be their source and destination at the same time. This soundpiece is pure improvisation by Igor Potsukailo (BARDOSENETICCUBE) and a Toshiba Satellite A-110 laptop (BARDOSENETICCUBE). The laptop is the leading performer here, created by unknown system error and playing the music of solar wind, derived from the information field that is not accessible to anyone else. Igor Potsukailo uses a kind of feedback circuit, adding the elements of human presence into this music and modifying the energy/information balance in that powerful field near our planet Earth called Noosphere... The laptop was stolen shortly after the recording session, so this particular album represents its only appearance in the project BARDOSENETICCUBE." [press-release]

Cataclyst -- "Monuments of a Rubicund Age" -- CD -- €10
2007 Tantric Harmonies, TANTRA X31 / Zhelezobeton, ZHB-X, (ltd. 600)
A strange project that for a moment united Peter Andersson (raison d'etre) and Johanna Rosenqvist (ex-Institut, Koeff) in the distant 1992. Cataclyst's music combines the melancholic beauty of early raison d'etre and Necrophorus, harsh industrial rhythms of Institut and tribal-elements of another undeservingly forgotten project of Peter - Svasti-Ayanam... What differs this product from other works of Swedish industrial scene masters is the atmosphere of remote fairy worlds in which you smoothly sink into while listening to "Monuments of a Rubicund Age". Peter and Johanna have woven an infinite labyrinth of mirages, walking through which will be a pleasant surprise for both the fans of ambient / experimental / industrial and more conservative gothic lovers. The first edition of the album was published by Peter's own label Yantra Atmospheres in 1999 and was limited to 100 copies. This reissue has been made by joint efforts of the labels Tantric Harmonies and Zhelezobeton, it contains a shorter version of the album's last piece + bonus-track. Original photographs are made by Pavel Bourchenko.

Highly conceptual project that combines features of remix, recycling and plagiarism – the re-interpretation of classic album by Asmus Tietchens “Daseinsverfehlung”. All what can be heard on this CD, as always in case of Frans de Waard framework, is made from music that already existed: every sound, word in titles and even the cover picture – all is just processing and manipulation techniques. Frans de Waard was born in 1965 in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. His experiments with sound started back in 1980 when he just was using tape recorder, guitar and household objects. The first ever piece recorded was published in "Katacombs vol.III" compilation tape, released by Karsten Rodemann on his Graf Haufen Tapes label in Germany, 1984. So it becames the moment when Kapotte Muziek was formed, and then also Korm Plastics label, bothe of them are still existing until today. Initially, Frans teamed up with Christian Nijs, but in 1987 the latter one left, soon replaced by Peter Duimelinks, who was very active in that time with V2-Organisation (the big independent label, production center and publishing company, later just obscured by Staalplaat) and multimedia performance group THU20. Another musician from this group, Roel Meelkop, also got involved with Kapotte Muziek later, in 1996. Actually, THU20 had many participants and was more influenced by realtime composition, while Kapotte Muziek is very conceptual project dedicated to timeless and continuous exploration of recycled sound, whether acoustic or electronic ones. What you hear is like slow shimmering, irregular pulsations or some crackles pushing the limits of audibility and then pushed away by silence. So it seems that almost each piece ever recorded can be also used for further processing. Besides Kapotte Muziek, Frans currently also plays in Beequeen duo with Freek Kinkelaar, runs Plinkity Plonk and other small labels, writes tons of reviews for the Vital Weekly newsletter. When he just get some free time, becomes active with various side-projects like Goem (minimal techno), Quest (ambient), Shifts (post-rock), Captain Black (remixes) etc. Freiband is also one of his solo projects. Hati vs. Z'EV -- "#1" -- CD -- €11
2006 Ars Benevola Mater, ABM 21, (ltd. 950)
A sensational collaboration between HATI & Z'EV, the unique Rythmajick’s master. Here the sound-qabalhist melt some raw audio-materials provided by HATI in order to condense 50 minutes approx. of AL-chemical sounds. HATI are a great Polish duo playing inspired psych-ambient soundscapes mixing gongs, metal discs, aluminium bars with wooden pipes, animal horns and trumpets... Z'EV, who is very well-know for his percussiive music skill, edited and treated Hati’s tracks those were originally recorded in 2003. His rhythmajickal remix created structures with a long range of mystical drones. This album is well-recommended to true experimental magick-percussive industrial music-lovers! [press-release]

Jahrtal -- "Lichtbuch" -- CD -- €12 [-50%]
2007 Ahnstern, Ahnstern30
After the CD-single "Zwei Lieder" now follows the first album by the Austrian Psychedelic-Folk artist Jahrtal. The man behind Jahrtal is Ewald Spiss, a artist from Tyrol, who might be known by some of you from the early days of Industrial music (early 80ies). Lichtbuch is a true treasure of Psychedelic Folk Music, a unique collection of traditional folksongs from the Alps, musical versions of poems by Joseph von Eichendorff, traditionals from England and Scotland in german translation and even a traditional Tibetan prayer. Lichtbuch is a absolute authentic Folk album with great heart and pure soul. The songs and balads on Lichtbuch have mainly a sad-optimistic mood, they shall delight the listener, as well as touch him thoughtfully. Jahrtal is non-academic, honest music, which delivers the message of affection and momentaryness, of cause and effect. A wide and balanced instrumentation gives the album a unique touch. Besides a guitar, which the artist reconstructed himself to a Sitar (Gzitar), Jahrtal uses acoustic guitars, electric guitars, lute, banjo, dulcimer, gzitar, harpzither, psalter, flute, duduk, schalm, violin, organ and bird's voices. The main influences of Jahrtal are in the end-60ies and early 70ies with bands like Witthuser & Westrupp, Spirogyra and C.O.B., but a comparison to the most beautiful balads of Current 93 is inevitable as well. 12 tracks / 75 Min. The so far unreleased 1998 album. Classical example of static music. Two lengthy ambient tracks, heavy on subtle drones and concrete sounds, descending slowly forwards. [label info] "D#m/Gm is an album of extended ambient listening of sonic icebergs slowly shifting over time. Mizutani, Kiyoshi / Shimada, Hideaki / Kuwayama, Kiyoharu -- "Gambetta" -- CD -- €10
2008 Monochrome Vision, mv27, (ltd. 500)
This unique collaboration of three Japanese musicians coming from quite different music background (Kiyoharu Kuwayama: contact microphone, hand made electronics; Hideaki Shimada: violin, live electronics; Kiyoshi Mizutani: feed back, drumstick) tends to be the most radical and uncompromising one. It's really hard to explain what it's all about, it's too alien and very far from any rational thought you can imagine. For the unprepared listener, it can be very uneasy and helpless experience, but for me, it explains the very idea of avant garde music in our post modern age. [label info]

Moneyi$god -- "M.A.R.K.Z" -- CD -- €10 [-50%]
2010 Heart & Crossbone, HCB 027
Japans' best kept secret are back with a new album! Fronted by Kan of the legendary 80's punk-thrash act The Asbestos, MONEYI$GOD has been flooding the Japanese underground scene with sheer originality for over a decade by practicing their perpetual belligerence and inimitable crossover between virulent sludge-doom, grim noise rock and endless post punk latitudes... M.A.R.K.Z kicks off with the tribal pummeling of "Cancer" and continues with the supposedly friendly "Murasaki", but it's only a devious act of diversion before "Black Rainbow" smoothly barge in with a caustic ska rhythm section, super-thick bassline, and above all, Kans' matchless gargling vocals that rumble throughout the entire album like a decisive instigator. "Waltz" lashes right after as a scorching crescendo with its' perforating and frantic gradual guitar parts and functions as a great build up for the epic "Hate Song" - a panegyric-like wayward track of unblemished loathing for humanity. The doom-dubbed remix for "Black Rainbow" by Balata (David OPP & Finkelstein of Lietterschpich fame) is the final aggressor that perfectly ends this veritable album of gashed hymns and surged audacities... Recommended if you like Killing Joke, Zeni Geva, LEWD, Pailhead, Arab on Radar, Christpunchers, Six Finger Satellite, The EX, Nomeansno etc. [press-release]

Necromondo -- "s/t" -- CD -- €10 [-50%]
2007 Mechanoise Labs, [mn030], ltd. 525
Have you ever watched horror movies in childhood? What can be more frightening than a rotten mug of a deadman, slowly but steady striving after main hero's throat? Or stained porridge, dripping out from a broken skull... or malicious indigenes, dismembering stupid white men... or a warlock, raising up hordes from the ground to lead them on a decisive fight between good and evil? All these dreadful fantasies, realized in trash cinematograph of 70-80-ies, especially Italian (City of the Living Dead, Zombi 2, Burial Ground, Cannibal Holocaust, Inferno Dei Morti-viventi, etc.), start to leak through the acoustic system via itching sinewaves, omnious ambience and of course proper samples. The release has wonderful thematic artwork by studio STPo. Absolute must-have in a B-side horror fan's collection!

2005 Purple Soil, Pulse zero: two
Omenya is a project of Mark Davis who released his albums under this name on Tantric Harmonies and Klanggalerie. The closest analogue to Omenya can be called Rapoon - waves of smooth ambient in conjunction with sampled semi-ethnic percussion. Tranquil atmospheric music with ritual touch.

Phillips, Dave -- "?" -- CD -- €10 [-50%]
2010 Heart & Crossbone, HCB 026
Assembled between April and June 2009 as part of a therapeutic process during a period dominated by severe disturbances of loss, mental abysses and despair, "?" is the new gospel from Swiss experimentalist Dave Phillips, co-founder of grindcore legend Fear of God, a member of the sense perplexing Schimpfluch-Gruppe and the pulverizing force behind the Rudimentary Peni one-man-doom-drone worship act Dead Peni, among numerous other projects... "?" offers a 79 minutes album of field recordings oriented compositions that feature murky cello, piano and accordion parts, nocturnal voices, a vast array of concrete snippets and more resonances of existences that give Albert Aylers' "Music is the healing force of the universe" new depths and meanings. "?" sees Phillips observing and carefully dissecting his human psyche into ten intimate and innovative music pieces, confronting them with the bile and degradation of the omnipresent while deconstructing his own ravage with a binding urge to cleanse. And it's a fascinating insight to listen to... Brilliantly mastered by Rashad Becker. [press-release]

Reformed Faction -- "Until..." -- CD -- €10 [-50%]
2010 Greytone, grey002
"Until…" by Reformed Faction is a new set of recordings built around the ideas of abstract compositional instructions similar in meaning and intent to those used by Karlheinz Stockhausen in such works as “From the seven days”. Eager to create a diverse and ever changing catalogue of works Reformed Faction here embrace improvisation, a feature fundamental to all their recordings, with a different focus and sensibility allowing sounds to evolve slowly and sub-conciously across a unrestricted timescale. Reformed Faction are Robin Storey and Mark Spybey, both ex-members of zoviet*france and both with long established and productive solo careers as Rapoon and Dead Voices On Air respectively. Ryr / Transistorwald -- "split" -- CD-R -- €8
2010 Ufa Muzak, UFA40, (ltd. 121)
Martial industrial / Dark Ambient. The mysterious pre-execution rite has been done, no barriers left, only shadow left in this cell forever... Ryr and Transistorwald - preparation for something not coincidental. Borders passed by wanderers in black uniform, they took cover where no living will ever be. The pits are dug out and immersion of symbolical artifacts is finished with vein bloodletting. Sturm music, goes out of line without accompaniment, with the sound of needle cutting a plate. His eyes are covered with soil, but he breathes deeper and stronger than those who go, he believes. Inside the house burnt down just yesterday will pour stranger's guttural speech, a steel knot will be tied in the heart. Befor the taste of lead bullets and ground line riddled with tank dead grids there's a symbol of Ahnenerbe on yellow leaves. Weisthor whispers with fire and moves in a stream, in the place where he is. The earth is covered with ice on fire... A5 cardboard sleeve + insert printed on transparent film. [press-release]

Sister Loolomie & Kryptogen Rundfunk -- "[W]interloop[s]" -- CD-R -- €8
2008 Still*Sleep, CDR11
This is a mail-art collaboration between two Russian experimental musicians. Kryptogen Rundfunk has prepared the sonic canvas from radiowaves reworked with a computer, and Sister Loolomie has painted it with toned guitar fingering, sample of cosmic vibraions and melodic synth lines. This resulted into one deliberate ambient noise track lasting for half an hour, in which persistent resonances harmonize with glitchy digital effects, non-aggressive noises - with long spatial drones, repetitive loops and samples - with airy melodies...
Transistorwald -- "Sleeping Eiktyrnir" -- CD-R -- €9
2011 Ufa Muzak, UFA 44, (ltd. 131)
Aryasophic dark ambient. His haunting sight appears and disappears in perspective, the air is filled with foreign presence. In a dream you enter their eyes and become their essence. Here's a snowy road trampled by footsteps, emergent lines of blood deceive and breath of the beast becomes heavy and frequent. Tree branches are so low, darkness looks out with shadows from holes. Hunter and prey are merged, their transformation slows down to reach the last apogee and burn away. Symbolic hunt has happened. Those who played their roles don't exist, but reality prompts with symbols that this was a special dream. The Transistorwald project is a dash of refined hearing, sight and smell of that place where everything happens again and again. In order not to lose the way fire will bring you to secret places of exceptional unconsciousness. One returns altered from there. Long like slow waves of a subterranean lake, melodic elements of Transistorwald are the new tales about old, told without words. Whistle of cold polar night, whisper of trolls, undead warriors lying in hills, girls' laughter coming from water, wicked old woman in a house and above all this - radiance of galloping stars... 8 tracks, 45 minutes, 6 panel cardboard package.
