Majdanek Waltz / Sal Solaris - Tenebrae

Majdanek Waltz / Sal Solaris
"Tenebrae"

CD (ltd. 500)
ZHB-XXXIII

1. Cloudburst [mp3]
2. Fields
3. The Time's Eye
4. I Heard that an Axe Had Bloomed Suddenly [mp3]
5. Death Fugue

total length: 42:06
price: €12

A collaboration album by two prominent Russian post-industrial projects Majdanek Waltz and Sal Solaris. The conceptual core of the record is the poetry of Paul Celan, one of the major German-language poets of the post-World War II era. His cryptic fractured lyrics spoken in a specific estranged way by Pavel Blumkin is enchased by a weird fusion of avant-garde neoclassic and dark ambient music.

This record will seem unusual even for those who are already familiar with the works of both projects. Here you won't find neither soulful neofolk songs, nor strong power ambient - instead the decadent sounds of violin, cello, clarinet, piano and bayan from Majdanek Waltz blend with shimmering electronic drones and uneasy soundscapes of Sal Solaris in paradoxical unity making your heart throb painfully. The last track features the haunting voice of Rada Anchevskaya (Rada & Ternovnik).

It won't be so easy to fall in love with this album from the first spin. It's like an eerie irrational dream able to frighten and cause a desire to wake up somewhat quicker. But the depth of this dream lures and makes you return and experience it again and again.

"This is time's eye: it squints out from under a seven-hued eyebrow. Its lid is washed clean by fires; its tear is hot stream. Towards it the blind star flies and melts at the eyelash that's hotter; it's growing warm in the world and the dead burgeon and flower".

Alio Die -- "The Hidden Spring" -- CD -- €10
1998 Crowd Control Activities, Crowded 4

Bardoseneticcube / Lieutenant Caramel -- "Silence Submarine" -- CD -- €9
2011 Studio Forum
"Silence Submarine" is the first collaborative work by St. Petersburg based project Bardoseneticcube and French musician Philippe Blanchard also known as Lieutenant Caramel. Some time ago I've invited him to perform live in Russia for the first time at the mini-festival in Moscow, but Philippe has also played in St. Petersburg where he made friends with Igor from Bardoseneticcube. After that they kept comminucating remotely and after some time recorded a collaboration work which has remained unreleased all this time, until at last Studio Forum label has released it in March 2011. All tracks are built traditionally: one musician gives the basic material, another finalizes it. The connoseurs of works of both projects will easily recognize the origin of most tracks, and this process is a fascinating thing indeed. [Monochrome Vision]

Bardoseneticcube & Vresnit & Kshatriy -- "Creation" -- CD -- €10
2011 Vetvei, V20, (ltd. 580)
A new CD release is presented on the Vetvei label. It is a split of three already well-known projects: Bardoseneticcube (St.-Petersburg), Vresnit (Yaroslavl) и Kshatriy (Vsevolozhsk). Being active and variously cooperating in studios and at concerts, the authors have got a vision of joint release: this split is inspired by a condition of direct experience, transformation, sensation of a new life arrival, display and realization of nature, creativity comprehension as a natural form of being. Some tracks from each project are presented on the disk as a seven acts of creation. BARDOSENETICCUBE: Igor Potsukajlo together with Alla Ryzhenkovoj (traditional Russian vocal) and Edward Dragunov (overtone singing) have presented light Ambient with colorific electronic patterns. Songs "Za verhom" and "Golymba", opening this disk, brightly show a female, mother nature. Further the space reveals as an active man nature. VRESNIT: As a initiator of the release concept, Ilchuk Sergey has presented multilayered psychedelic Drone Ambient with a plentiful use of the field and found records, guitar and cassete drones, analog electronics. "Time is Art "," Anahata "," Creation "... two of this tracks are written down together with a spiritually close project Kshatriy. Becoming even more professional mastering engineer with each his work, Sergey Uak-Kib (KSHATRIY) in the traditional key has presented two powerful space Drone Ambient tracks, " Well of Soul " and " Intention ", showing in music an author’s experience of beauty, harmony and a resonance. A unification of the interweaving beginnings in the solemn act of the world creation. A new act of the initiating resonance and contemplation of the universal art and boundless self-similarity with open hearts. Mastering - Kshatriy. Design presented by six-panel full-colored envelope and card Vresnit & Vevei Art. [press-release]

Bianchi, Maurizio -- "Apokalypsis XXIII" -- CD -- €13
2011 Nitkie, patch six, (ltd. 500)
In August 2010, Maurizio Bianchi officially announced his retirement from musical scene. "Apokalypsis XXIII" is his last ever electronic music album, recorded in Summer of 2010. All the latest albums appeared after that are in fact re-issues of older works or the collaborations with other artists using his sound sources. Like other solo albums of Maurizio Bianchi, "Apokalypsis XXIII" has religious roots and consists of four long tracks, each of those divided into further sections titled after verses taken from "Book of Revelation", the most mysterious and most scary part of New Testament. Many artists found the inspiration around these themes, apocalyptical images were used by painters and sculptors during the crisis periods of mankind history: Middle Ages, Renascence, end of XIX century etc. Hopefully, this album will drive attention to the world around us, and especially if keeping in mind the most recent accidents and disasters, these days it becomes more actual than ever. Comes in golden foil embossed cover. [press-release]

Booby Mason / Claudia Shitter / Pichismo / .nyctalops. / Huren Aquarium -- split -- CD-R -- €7
2011 self-released
Booby Mason is a young Russian project from Omsk, psychedelic guitar (almost) harsh noise. Claudia Shitter is another reincarnation of Monopolka, stupid useless shit noise with toys. Pichismo presented a live recording: dirty post-Gerogerigegege-noise on a sitar (!) with yelling. .nyctalops. and Grigory Avronin (Huren Aquarium) presented powerful mid-frequency harsh noise assaults. Self-released by Strup, cover made of vintage A3 sheet + info insert. [YAOP]

Brighter Death Now -- "Breaking Down Nihil - Live" -- 2 CD -- €18
2011 Der Angriff, Nr. 39, (ltd. 450)
Der Angriff and Indiestate Distribution proudly present a very special 2CD release of one of the most influential and famous power electronics projects in the world, a favourite child of Cold Meat Industry mastermind Roger Karmanik - Brighter Death Now. Recorded live during short Russian tour made in September 2009, it is unique since the lineup was made of Russian artists and only Roger himself was a part of the common European live incarnation of BDN. The persons behind Anthesteria and LamiaVox have joined him in Moscow while the guys from Bardoseneticube and 414 were together with him on stage in St.Petersburg. The basic parts of the tracks have been sent to them all in advance, so they have prepared their own vision of this material, thus it was nothing like a spontaneous improvisation or jam-session, but pure conceived and well-organized collaboration. Both shows have been recorded on a multi-channel devices, then carefully mixed and mastered, so the final quality is close to the studio one without losing any bit of the raw energy of live performance. The result is a very fresh and unexpected look on the well-known BDN compositions such as "Innerwar", “PayDay” and “Testing” which should be interested not only for devoted followers of the project but for the wider audience of power electronics / death industrial fans. The real gem in our roster, not to be missed! The release is limited to 450 copies and comes in a special embossed foldout envelope with cardboard inner sleeves. CD 1: MOSCOW (24-09-2009): Innerwar / Oh what a night / Payday / I wanna die / Destroy / I hate you. CD 2: SAINT-PETERSBURG (28-09-2009): First floor / Testing / Leave me alone / Dodsambient / There is nothing left in this world / Female blood. [press-release] Mastered by Kshatriy.

Der Blutharsch & Deutsch Nepal -- "Apocalyptic Climax 2" -- CD -- €12
1999/2011 WKN / Eternal Pride Productions, WKN05
In 1999 "Apocalyptic Climax 2" was the result of mutual collaboration of the leading martial\industrial\ambient formations Der Blutharsch и Deutsch Nepal. The state of despair and hopelessness is the main leitmotif of this music. Death floating in the uncertainty, death as the basic obsession standing behind all your thoughts and feelings-the monotonous and cold language and fixed scenes. Albin Sunlight Julius & Lina Baby Doll stand here for the chroniclers of Europe , its dramatic historical way which gave rise to the bloody outbreaks & mystical spiritual revelations-war as the phenomenon of the human nature which is constantly testing itself for strength. Apocalyptic despair is the leitmotif of the whole album which was released as limited edition 10'' in 1999, and which is still available on CD as release WKN5 in the format of Digi CD by the exclusive distribution of Eternal Pride Productions. [press-release]

Marchetti, Lionel & Capparos, Olivier + Higashi, Yoko -- "A Blue Book" -- CD -- €16
2011 Waystyx, WR68, (ltd. 294)
The compositions recorded by the musicians in various years show wide range of contemporary experimental music. Here one can find the eternal Marchetti's interest in "musique concrete", electroacoustics of French school, academic vanguard of Capparos... His piano parts, like slowly dispersing circles on water, interact perfectly with rustling radionoises, crystal vibrant ambient and voice of a small girl, creating fragile and elusive music filled with always changing images, pieces of phrases and charm of Christmas chorals. The music which can be called "intimate", as it's so close and pleasant. The title track "A Blue Book" is a symphony which can be created by almost anyone by twisting knobs of a radio receiver and travelling through fragments of transmissions catching pieces of phrases, melodies with long pauses on "empty" waves, listening to only hypnotic mysterious crackles and trying to understand who or what is sending these signals. For Capparos this becomes an analogue of human memory which randomly extracts from its bank fragments of recollections, echoes of sounds, flashes of vivid experiences and lingering tension. The three-part piece "Tenebrae" for string quartet, composed by Olivier in 2008, shows the other side of his creativity - this is academic music for conservatory halls, resembling (not only because of similarity of sound, but mostly because of the feeling of almost religious ecstasy able to capture the listener entirely) the works of such aknowledged masters as Arvo Part... Marchetti and Higashi join forces to work over only one piece "A Short Story" based on recording of human voice made in 1860. Abstract sounds which Lionel derives from the synthesizer neighbour with Yoko's voice, mild as if stroking your hair drone, noise and crackle of interference and that fragment of a 150-year old recording where woman sings a lullaby... Delicate, multi-faceted and very personal work. [maeror3.livejournal.com]

Medusa's Spell -- "Last X Hours" -- CD -- €12
2008 Cold Meat Industry, cmi186
The Italian duo Medusa’s Spell is back with their second album after the “Mercurial Behaviour” released on Cold Meat in 2006. “Last X hours” is also a conceptual album, this time following the ten last tragic hours of a woman who stands accused for witchery. Ten songs, each representing one hour of her last ten in life, from the moments of the trial, - when her body is completely exhausted from pain - until her mind resigned to her fate of death. The lyrics of the first and the last song is a curse! - the true words spoken by a woman falsely accused of witchery and condemned to death in 1428. The witch of Medusa’s Spell is however a symbolic woman representing all women condemned as witches. By infernal torments and torture her mind and tongue slowly converts to the Devil… and her voice becomes finally the voice of the Devil. Medusa’s Spell has again created a genuine accoustic ritual dark-folk concept. [press-release]

Neither/Neither World -- "She Whispers" -- CD -- €12
2003 Hau Ruck!, HR!51
Singer, songwriter, and guitarist, Wendy Van Dusen is the principal figure of the San Francisco-based NeitherNeither World. Her drawling Southern vocals and "twisted little girl voice" are the dominant characteristics of the group's sound. Self-styling their music as "Satanic Folk" and basing it on themes such as Charles Manson, sado-masochism and a morbid fascination for serial killers, they provoke even music reviewers into speculating about just how insane they actually are. "She Whispers" is the perfect dark music for lonely nights... or it could be a perfect alternative soundtrack for Twin Peaks. [label info]

Phillips, Tomas & Turra, Luigi -- "Vignettes Amplifie" -- CD -- €13
2011 Nitkie, patch five, (ltd. 500)
The first ever collaboration between prolific american composer Tomas Phillips and prominent italian newcomer Luigi Turra, "Vignettes Amplifie" presents a sequence of subtle sound constructions characterized by minimalistic and contemplative approach. Quiet field recordings, soft acoustic sounds and organic electronic arrangements builds panoramic view on two levels. The acoustic gestures like bells, manipulated objects and drone fragments are coming from silence and disappearing after some time. On the other hand, there is a kind of reflection of these sonic events in the background, muted and abstracted, hiding from your ears. But these microscopic sounds, short and forgetful, seems to be the main part of the whole thing - when you are trying to trace them down, to catch your attention, and to understand the aesthetical value of this music. Shy and confused, these sounds represents the soul of this music, but in fact they are just grow and fade away like the autumn rain. This album will teach you how to turn your mind into ears, hunting for every little susurration in total silence. [press-release]

Decadence has been proudly signed to Cold Meat Industry for their first album since the "Something to love, something to spend" LP in 2003. With their new album "Where do broken hearts go?", Decadence manage to create a perfect harmony between sophisticated Neo-Classical and Neo-Folk music; dramatic classical orchestrations, militaristic snares and soft melodies played by piano and acoustic guitars. Fragile innocence presented by female singer Eufrosyne, and completed by the cynical voice of Petros - a perfect combination of Romance and Sin. Decadence have released very limited vinyls on prestigious labels before, that were instantly sold out, so we are finally glad to present their new album, to a larger audience. Jewelcase with 24-pages fullcolour booklet with decadent and sexy pictures. [label info]

Diona & Shebuzzz -- "Time and Space" -- CD-R -- €8
2010 Still*Sleep, CDR15
A collaboration work between Russian one-girl-project Diona and Moldovian one-man-project Shebuzzz released by Still*Sleep, the label run by Exit In Grey / Five Elements Music / Sister Loolomie mastermind Sergey [S]. Drahomira Song Orchestra -- "The Return Of 120 Magicians" -- CD -- €13
2005 Waystyx, WR19, (ltd. 100)
DSO is the musical offshot of mysterious Institut Drahomira, known for its cinematographic, literary, political and criminal activity, which nevertheless comes beyond our interest. This ensemble was formed in the mid 80's, but the name wasn't mentioned anywhere until the end 90's, when some works was published by labels like Vacuum and Flesh Eating Ants Records. The overall number of albums recorded since then, is near thirty! But most of them are still unreleased and waiting for the lucky moment to see the daylight, as the official website says. They are looking for interested labels, offering their material for a prominent release. One of the first voices around, that was Moscow based label Waystyx, recently interested in analogue soundings and old-school recording techniques quite common for the 80's/90's underground scene. "The Return of 120 Magicians" is an unique, really peculiar album, which can't be compared with anything else. It could be described as mysterious combination of collage recording technique and analogue electronica, the boiling mix of avantgarde, surrealism, nostalgia and grim humour. Musicwise, the structure of tracks is dispersed between several patterns and fragments, repeated sounds that are varied in details, they are swirling around and above you, creating hypnotizing and haunting atmosphere which will overwhelm you since the very beginning. Retro aesthetics, electronic permutations of analogue sources, reviving samples and percussive stringed sounds - all these components are doing the excellent job together, so we must say this one is one of the best albums of the year. [Dmitry Vasilyev, "Independent Electronic Music"]

Fanum & Vazhes -- "IR" -- CD-R -- €8
2010 Still*Sleep, CDR14
Thirty minutes of steady dense and tight (like molten bitumen or solidifying lava) "trademark" drone from Fanum, filled with hardly imperceptible movements of keys, mournful singing of duduk, bird voices and rustle of wind in the leaves, boiling of huge amount of water in which the listeners dives closer to the middle of the track, and voices recorded probably by Sergey Gabbasov (Vazhes) during his ethnographic trips to abandoned villages. I can call for help the words "natural ambient", and it will be quite relevant and characterizing the hidden events happening in the depth of the sonic mass and illustrating such processes as slow growth of grain, deliberate movements of shadows, dissolving items and substances in the water and something like this, invisible from the first glance and subject to the eternal cycles of the outside world. Green Army Fraction -- "Chlorophyll Flood" -- CD -- €10

Grzinich, John -- "Surface Scripts" -- CD -- €10
2010 Semperflorens, sf05, (ltd. 500)
Surface Scripts was composed from field recordings, site-specific actions, environmental installations and wire instrument sounds recorded from 2008-2010. The title refers to my interest in the time-worn processes of nature and the effects this has on various materials such as stone, metal or wood. Much of the sounds we hear around us are the acoustic effects of these processes taking place while the visual patterns are written as ancient scripts. A set of small lines carved into a stone by water may have taken thousands of years, yet the sounds we hear are momentary. [John Grzinich]

His Divine Grace -- "Reverse Aleph" -- CD -- €12
2001 Hau Ruck!, HR!14
A lot of secrets around this band, no information. Even the labels seems to know nothing about this formation. So is the music, dark & ritual, doomy and gloomy, coming from behind, getting you in your sleep. Haunting you in your deepest nightmares. You may be dead and even then you don't know a thing about this release. Just experience it! [label info]

Hum / Misery -- "Landmarks In Mistscape / Vjosla Navjih Rek" -- MC -- €14
2009 Linija Shuma, SHUM 0009, (ltd. 33)
Split-cassette from two Russian musicians. Wonderful handmade box package.

Illusion Of Safety -- "Bridges Intact" -- CD -- €12
2010 Waystyx, WR 69, (ltd. 324)
New album of Illusion Of Safety was recorded preliminary with piano, guitar, electronics and sound processing devices. Abstract tonal and atonal improvisations share the sonic continuum with background drones, rasps and gentle noises, and they do it in highly unpredictable surreal way: mild "melodies" turn into energetic uneasy passages being interrupted by "concrete" sonic romp evolving into spatial drone and electronic landscapes... and all this whirl continues during the whole CD increasing the degree of abstractness and psychedelia as it moves towards the end, which is presented in a form of beautiful harmonic composition.

Inner Glory -- "Remains of a Dream" -- CD -- €12
2004 Hau Ruck!, HR 71
First full-length album from this neo-folk project from Italy.

Interior Disposition & Sister Loolomie -- "s/t" -- CD-R -- €8
2009 Still*Sleep, CDR12
A collaboration between two Russian projects. The united sonic field of these 4 tracks harmonically meld together the characteristic features of both projects: hallucinogenic digital rasps and bright melancholic guitar tunes from Sister Loolomie and universal scale atmospheres of Interior Disposition. As a result we have beautiful and deep space ambient / drone.

Lucisferrato -- "Ingermanland" -- CD -- €12
2002 Hau Ruck!, HR!26
Yuri Sakevic sings sad hymns underlain with drones and layers of organs. Breaks from historical cut-ups and orchestral neoclassical pieces give the final touch to an atmosphere of darkness and depression that surrounds this project. [label info]

Medusa's Spell -- "Mercurial Behaviour" -- CD -- €12
2006 Cold Meat Industry, cmi155
Mercurial Behaviour is a conceptual album on which every "act" represents the confused thoughts and visions of a murderer. Lyrics and words are rearranged in different ways and moments to create a hypnotic mantra leading us in different directions and states of emotions; all intertwined through a soft and haunting dark atmosphere created by piano, acoustic guitar, bells, industrial sounds, loops and of course that broken Italian psychotic voice of Daniele Serra. Medusa's Spell is a filmic dark-ambient-pop project of Mara Lasi and Daniele Serra, known from the parallel project Chirleison (amongst others) who released a CD on Fossil Dungeon in 2004. The album was recorded and engineered by the legendary Simon Balestrazzi (TAC, Kirlian Camera) at the Neurohabitat studio. Comes in nice digipak with 8 pages booklet. [label info]

Merzbow -- "Scene / Early Computer Works" -- 2 CD -- €33
2005 Waystyx, WR12, (ltd. 100)
Another recording made by prolific noise monster Masami Akita, which was released in two editions. The first one is single album "Scene", which is quite mundane and nothing new to someone who isn't into Merzbow work too much. I'd say that the only distinctive feature is the cover with heavily cliched Fujiyama look. This one is limited to 500 copies. The second variant has more goals to mention, it's housed in very impressively designed plastic box together with poster and bonus-CD entitled "Early Computer Works". It's quite controversial and special hearing, in comparison with previous albums, it makes a great difference. At this point, I can remember some "loud" releases by Domizil like RM74 "Instabil" and some recent RLW works. This album sounds not so expressive and chaotic as usually, it makes me think about a huge metallic carcass closed in small space. It crawls and shakes, trying to find the way out, raising the pressure and exertion, but without much success. Well, thank to this bonus-CD the boxset is worth to have, but quite hard to find because the edition size is only 100 copies. [Dmitry Vasilyev, "Independent Electronic Music"]

Williams (the inimitable American singer/songwriter); and two tracks feature violin by Matt Howden (Sieben, Sol Invictus, Rain Dogs, etc.). Digipack includes 16 page lyric booklet and photographs. Novy Svet -- "Faccia a Faccia" -- CD -- €12
1998/2006 The Nekofutschata Musick Cabaret, neko 17
Unavailable for some years, "Faccia a Faccia", NOVY SVET's second album, stands out as a classic from the late 90's post-industrial explosion. First issued by the now defunct british WSD label, here's this influential album now in new artwork and with a different ghost track from the same sessions. Foggy music and scratched melodies make up this CD that once was named the best release to commit suicide to. In other words: just beautiful. [label info]

Novy Svet -- "Fin. Finito. Infinito" -- CD -- €12
2004/2006 The Nekofutschata Musick Cabaret, neko 16
Even within the enigmatic discography of NOVY SVET the album FIN. FINITO. INFINITO takes a special place. The original 12" coming in an edition of 77 copies only offered nothing more than the title in embossed red letters - the rest was all blackness. The group's comments to this major work summed up to complete silence, which opened space for a mass of partly obscure interpretations. For sure this album was conceived as a good-bye, finding a climax in the suicidal title track. Rare example of a cult item coming up to the listener's expectations for the first time on digital format. [label info]

O Paradis / Novy Svet -- "Entre Siempre Y Jamas Suben Las Mareas, Duermen Las Ciudades" -- CD -- €12

Ogni Videniy -- "Skvoz' Temnotu" -- CD-R -- €8
2009 Vetvei, V06, (ltd. 181)
The sixth Vetvei release presents trip "Through Darkness" of the Arkhangelsk (the north of Russia) project Ogni Videniy. The album was recorded in 2007 and was published by the author in some copies of hand-made limited edition. Ogni Videniy (Fires of Images, from Russian) is evolutionary continuation of Industrial Noise project Control Fires (2002) which in turn originates in close dialogue with the project Six Dead Bulgarians, at that time under the direction of Alexey Chulkov (R.I.P). The structure changes, to Industrial Noise basis of Control Fires in 2007 the pure Spirit concept is added, the project gets rituality in the activity, therefore it is transformed to Ogni Videniy, constantly taking part in record and performances Six Dead Bulgarians and to this day. During existence of Ogni Videniy were some collaborations and concetrs with Hladna, Lunar Abyss Deus Organum, etc. Visions Of the Source, Keepers of Fires, Clearing the Wind... This album represents six cloths-trips in Internal Space through coast of northern seas and conversations with birds and stones, through footpaths of playful streams and the fallen asleep Spirits of wood. The purpose of participants is studying of construction of light, a sound, an image, the qualities of psychedelic experiences directed on strengthening. Ogni Videniy represent natural shamanic, ecstatic Ritual Ambient using many authentic acoustic instruments, electronic tools and field recordings. Release is presented in six-panel fullcolour envelope designed by Vresnit. [press-release]

Ogni Videniy -- "Tajushie" -- CD-R -- €8
2011 Vetvei, V11, (ltd. 181)
Tajushie ("Melting") was recorded by Petr Abysov and Alexandr Chulkov in spring 2009. Entitled by a mantra of the Buddha of Medicine, it was planed as a meditative work directed on harmonization of energy streams of the listener. Undoubtedly, a water and air delicate game, a live recording of melting ice, songs of streams, sounds of singing bowl's vibrations, bell's ringing and singing winds carries away with a sound stream all the negative kinds of consciousness, clearing and healthing our inner world. The process of meditative immersing dissolves the listener and lets him melt in the Universal Absolute. The release is presented in six-panel full-colored envelope Vetvei & Vresnit Art. Olen'k -- "Silently Noisy" -- CD -- €12
2005 Cold Meat Industry, cmi134
Formed a few years ago in France, Olen’k is an inspired band who has composed this first album, making real the promises held in their first self-produced EP, ‘Half Asleep’. ‘Silently Noisy’ is a synthesis of classical and modern genres, with sounds drawn from the eighties cold-wave era which Olen’k enrich with their own ethno-electro touch: from darkwave and trip-pop ambiances to groovy ethereal and world music. This unique and exquisite blend of styles, influences and cultures is one of the most melodious compositions to appear on the Cold Meat Industry label. The contrasting female voices of Elise and Cecile create an ethereal - and very powerful sound which generates a lot of emotion and depth. With his traditional instruments (guitar, bass, balafon and other African curiosities), Manuel adds an organic and human feel to the electronic soundscapes designed by Patrice. Epic, stirring and mysterious, ‘Silently Noisy’ transports you into a dreamy world. [press-release]

Misantropolis introduces more vocals than on past Pimentola releases; hysteric screams, gloomy choirs/harmonies; hand in hand with electronic sounds, samplings and acoustic instruments; accordion, violins, theremin, metal percussions and various kinds of drums. Ten ill star prayers from the Black Globe; an end of times sound-work ranging from martial neoclassical to drum n' bRass and tripjazz. Paralyzing absinthe nightmares morphed with opiatic tunes of the orient. [label info]

Sgnl_fltr -- "Chrono" -- CD -- €10
2006 Databloem, DBCD 015
SGNL_FLTR, Danny Kreuzfeldt's minimal techno project, finally comes with a new album as the follow up to SGNL-FLTR's great debut album Vebra. Chrono even goes a step beyond Vebra. The rhythms can be called minimal, but then enriched with soundscapes, clicks + noises. For those who find minimal too boring and prefer more adventurous rhythmic excursions Danny is a hero. Tchernoblyad -- "Love" -- CD -- €18
2009 Linija Shuma, Shum0008, (ltd. 10)

Terroritmo -- "Premonitions" -- CD -- €12
2005 Hau Ruck!, HR!77
The CD "Premonitions" is the 4th release of Terroritmo. Each track revealed itself as a premonition during the process and only at the end the concept was manifest. Words written months earlier suddenly made sense. Chants and rhythms were recorded waking up in the middle of the night taking them out of the previous dream. The perception of how close "reality" is to dream, is in the eyes of the dreamer. Premonitions come from the shared continuum of Dreams. They travel through Time in the same way Remote Visions go beyond the concept of Space. They bring Doubt in a supposedly coherent physical Universe and its Rules. Rules and false certainties are trusted and unquestioned because of Fears. As the edges of the Reasonable fade away, a new definition of Self emerges. There are no rules. No boudaries. No fears... Released in a jewelcase cover with cardboard slipcase. [label info]

TUU -- "Invocation" -- CD -- €10
1995 Hic Sunt Leones, HSL 009
"Invocation" is the first work TUU ever recorded (between 1989 and 1990) and the result was one privately released cassette album. The Italian Hic Sunt Leones label rereleased the tape as a ten track CD (48 mins.) and that's a good thing too because some of TUU's finest moments are on this collection of early material. "Invocation" is just another trip to ambient paradise on exotic percussion, spacey keyboards, dreamy flute and a whole array of strange sounding ethnic instruments. Like any other TUU album, this is a voyage in time to a period when the Earth was still largely covered with unspoiled tropical forests. A fantastic ambient/psychedelic album, recomended to fans of Jon Hassell, Jorge Reyes and Steve Roach". [C.W.]

Vazhes -- "Deep Komis" -- CD -- €10
2010 Nadeln Prod., NaP.II, (ltd. 500)

On the fanciful turnings of the forest path we will meet authentic ethno music of the Permian Komis, Nordic ambient, ethno-industrial, dub. Interweaving like lines of a spider's web, chthonic drones mix with resonant rhythms, enigmatic voices and dense dub bass. This is a trip into the world of magic, which is full of foresters, mermaids, brownies and giants, into the world of growing trees and sparkling water. Ancient rituals and traditional culture expressed by sound... Sun light, streaming through tree leaves and reflected in river water, village traditions and rituals - by VAZHES...
