The German band Maeror Tri existed from early 1988 to the end of 1996. Over these nine years they have made a serious contribution to the development of the European post-industrial scene and had significant influence on many young musicians. Much of this was also achieved by their own record label Drone Records which has discovered a lot of talented artists. Even now, after the break-up of Maeror Tri, the band members continue to excite fans with recordings of their new projects Troum and 1000schoen.

Unlike many industrial and noise musicians exploiting the themes of violence, politics and social problems in their creativity, Maeror Tri turned attention to the transcendental quality of sound, to its ability to expand consciousness and to awaken timeless and non-personal spiritual experiences. They recorded their music, which can be formally called industrial drone ambient, with the use of guitars, percussion, tape loops, various objects and effects, turning everything in a coherent flux of unconscious drones.

This compact disk contains the last previously unreleased recordings by Maeror Tri. Four tracks are fragments of the band's 12-hour concert at the "Audio-Visual-Experimental" festival in Arnhem, The Netherlands, on November 11th, 1995; the fifth track is a part of their performance at the "Musique Ultimes" festival in Nevers, France, on May 14th, 1995. The material was thoroughly remastered by Sergey Uak-Kib (Kshatriy) and the artwork was prepared by Sergey Ilchuk (Vresnit & Vetvei Art).

Albireon -- "Mr. Nightbird Hates Blueberries" -- CD -- €13
2010 Old Europa Cafe, OECD 132
A dark comedy or a folk drama about drunk birds, mocking spiders, empty bottles and lost souls. Starring David E. Williams, Lloyd James, Sonne Hagal, Future Whirl, Die Weisse Rose. A strange manuscript, telling a tale about some bizarre characters, found somewhere in a forgotten cellar and hidden by countless broken bottles, was the inspiring spark for this dark comedy or folk drama-as the subtitles suggest-set to music in order to show how love can be a faint illusion and the deepest of all wounds. For this decadent party, recorded between late 2008 to early 2010 and graced by great emotional neo folk ballads and more experimental gloomy soundscapes, Albireon invited some very selected guests to share this tasty blueberries’ cake and offer the album a different palette of vocal nuances and a multinational coven of damned artists’ parade. American songwriter-genious David E. Williams, UK’s finest minstrel Lloyd James of Naevus, german neo folk leading act Sonne Hagal, Norwegian/american highly talented artist Future Whirl (formerly Oberon) and the new martial heroes Die Weisse Rose are the selected guests of Mr. Nightbird’s party. These great artists offered a priceless contribution to Albireon’s music and lyrics, and perfectly painted the sad main character, in his struggling pilgrimage toward love, loss, forgiveness and rebirth, but all seen through the drunk eye of the mocking spiders. And after all, you now may be guessing why Mr.Nightbird hates blueberries? Listen to the album and find out why! [press-release]

Aossic S'lba -- "PanAeonic Glyphs" -- CD-R -- €10
2009 Old Europa Cafe, OECDR 040
Aossic S'lba has an occult direction based in large part on the work of Kenneth Grant, of the Typhonian O.T.O., who knew Aleister Crowley in his latter years at Netherwood. Grant was a major Magus he was the author of books such "Nightside of Eden", "Outside the Circles of Time" and "Outer Gateways". Aossic S'Lba is pure Esoteric sound and it's a side project by Ulex Xane better known for his infamous roject “STREICHER”. With this new project Ulex shows us a complete different stile and a complete new direction in his music! Don't aspect anything harsh, no power-electronics, no violence but only very accurate, ritual and obscure dark-ambient music. [press-release]

Armon Kuilu -- "s/t" -- CD -- €10
2008 Totuuden Sarvi Levyt, 001, (ltd. 500)
The first release from Totuuden Sarvi Levyt is a piece of Finnish art destined to remain in the minds of those who hear it. The debut mini-album by Armon Kuilu is a funereal musical journey, two long progressive compositions built out mostly of classical piano, strings, orchestral drums, singing, prayers and invocations in male and female voices. More of a gothic work than a total assault on the senses, yet one must remember that the word gothic is often abused in connotation with just a melancholic form of new age entertainment music but here the soundscapes bring to mind images of forlorn cemetaries, initiatory cults, bloodletting, woodlands and altered states of consciousness. At times the melodies of chamber music break out into squeals, groans and crackling which haunt the space and resonate with the Finnish poetry, that most of the time reminds one of a satanic ceremony. Some passages sound familiar to the listeners of European avantgarde and progressive music such as ACTUS, ART ZOYD and releases from the label Athanor. Post-industrial fans should also listen to this work but remember that this is not your generic so-called occult album with the usual Crowley spoken parts. Instead this is a deeply personal work with challenging classical and sometimes jazz or progressive melodies composed by the master behind the project and performed by real musicians with authentic instruments and also utilizing real actors for the various voices and spoken parts. Believe me, you will hear the difference. The mini-album comes in a black & white sleeve with a full color 8-page art booklet (size 7x7"), built from nature-mystical imagery shot on infrared film. [press-release]

Clausthome -- "Radiophare II [Les Ondes Radio]" -- CD -- €12
2010 Indiestate, IST 081 CD, (ltd. 500)
The Latvian radionoise gurus Clausthome are back! With its new work "radiophare [les ondes radio]" they offer a new trip into the world of the radio waves. The route is a bit different than in the previous work "radiophare [lampe d'ambiance]" (Indiestate, 2005) - now it is closer to the actual radio waves and leads through darker spaces. Sometimes you will be left alone in the beauty of the invisible electromagnetic choir that surrounds us all. Sometimes there will be mere documental fragments thrown into your ear. At some point, it is sounding like a story about life - a look at life through radio waves. The sound here is made using carefully selected and processed scans and recordings of the radio waves, served by Clausthome's usual attitude to the radionoise aesthetics. The release is limited to 500 copies and comes in a monochrome silkscreened digisleeve, recommended to the fans of Bad Sector, John Duncan and other radionoise and radiodrone projects. [press-release]

Cleaning Women -- "Pulsator" -- CD -- €9
2001/2004 Soyuz Music, BV-1
Industrial clangs and yells, echoes of Lapland lullabies, a Sufi and smile on techno-pop. Cleaning Women found the way off from the autobahn where Kraftwerk brought the music - directly in the parallel world, to Cleanus, the planet of cleaning robots. The most witty anti-utopia, most ominous dances, most functional clothes dryers! [AFI]

Crumer, Jason -- "Ottoman Black" -- CD -- €10
2008 Hospital Productions, HOS-215, (ltd. 500)
"Ottoman Black" is an album of midnight drones and true noise. Using powerfully clear electronics as a base for declarative noise bursts, Crumer manipulates the sounds with a resounding animosity. In the vein of Pedestrian Deposit and Air Conditioning, Crumer yields his mean streak to an array of silences over the course of the album. The theme here is personal relations; tracks like "Betrayal After Betrayal" have a conversational quality, both the screams and the muffles, the physicality. "Where Were You" is an actionist-influenced piece of torture. There's nothing not painful here, especially the quiet; the peaks are almost a relief. Ottoman Black is a stern and unforgiving universe. [press-release]

Darsombra -- "Eternal Jewel" -- CD -- €14
2008 Public Guilt, PG015

De Fabriek goes The Hitmachine -- "Het Terrein II" -- CD -- €13
2007 EE Tapes, EE08, (ltd. 185)

De Mange Machine -- "Gourmandise" -- CD -- €10
2002 Brume Records, BRUME 06
Mostly influenced by Nurse With Sound, Illusion Of Safety and Hirsche Nicht Aufs Sofa (H.N.A.S.) surealist collages, and the unique atmospheres of Zoviet France, The Hafler Trio, Whitehouse, Coil’s albums. De Mange Machine finds its strongest power moments in the simplicity and essence of the elements, it even reaches the point by refusing the use of any kind of beats with the shifts in it's threatened atmospheres. Forbidden frequencies are merged seamless with unseen fear and organic consciousness. The new album Gourmandise is built on a great variety of sounds coming from electronic generators as well as various items. The sounds used (birds singing or door creaking for exemple) are here much more expressive than the sound of any instruments. Constructing some of the remotest soundtracks imaginable - a gorgeous sampled environment, emotions are not considered here at all - they are replaced by sensorial stimulation restricted to the essence, this is a timeless album, arising from a blinding, beatless labyrinth of beauty. [press-release]

Demimonde -- "Mutant Star" -- CD -- €10
2000 Epidemie Records, EPR 042

Dim Arcana -- "Yersinia" -- CD-R -- €9
2010 Black Drone: 13 Series, 13-8, (ltd. 39)
A conceptual album from the Italian dark ambient project, dedicated to the Middle Age plague epidemied. Can be compared to death ambient epiphanies of their compatriots from Urna, but complicated with the addition of neofolk gothic moments. Overall very talented and qualitative work. Sleeve. [YAOP]

Discordance -- "Supremacy" -- CD -- €10
1998 Crowd Control Activities, Crowded 06, (ltd. 500)
The first full lenght CD by this great power electronic unit from Italy. [Slaughter Productions]

Disharmony -- "Zoomer" -- CD -- €10
2004 Broken Seal, BS008
Disharmony strikes back with their second album „Zoomer“, which is the follow up to „Moonflower“. Complexity, atmosphere, rapidly changing mid-tempo beats and agressive vocals are the main elements of their sound. But also danceable killer tracks like “Angels”, which reminds to Mortal Constraint, are to find on a very intense album. The highlight of the whole album is the fascination “Zoomer (Sauron)”, which starts like a sleeping beast and develops to a great Dark Techno-hymn. A lot of instrumental passages are used to present a dark, brilliantly arranged album, which is miles away from the usual Electro stuff offered today. Cold Meat Industry meets Dark Techno! [press-release]

DiversAeon -- "Existence Exceeded" -- CD-R -- €7
2005 Toiko, TOK-06, (ltd. 50)

Emeralds -- "Solar Bridge" -- CD -- €10
2008 Hanson Records, HN 183, (ltd. 1000)
HANSON RECORDS is proud to announce EMERALDS - SOLAR BRIDGE, the trio's first full-length album after numerous cassette and cd-r releases on such labels as American Tapes, Chondritic Sound, and the bands own imprints Wagon and Gneiss Things. The album opens with the side long 'MAGIC' where the band builds a quiet drone into an extreme thick sawblade of swirling noise as beautiful as it is menacing. The flip is yet another sidelong journey titled 'THE QUAKING MESS', a track that stabs your brain with fluttering sparks of synthesized needles before relaxing you into a Göttsching-esque dream state while slowly bringing you back to earth with an electronic wave of molten rumble. Fans of the smooth tones of 'New Age Of Earth' era Ash Ra Tempel and the buzzing thick drones of Throbbing Gristle's 'Heathen Earth' should take note, as EMERALDS may be their new source for electronic drugs. Encryption -- "Secrecy" -- CD -- €10
2003 Waerloga Records, WAER003
At last, Belgium has given birth to a dark-wave band which creates music in the vein of Weltenbrand, Autumn Tears, Die Verbannten Kinder Evas etc. Encryption consists of composer Lacrimas (ex-Trollrath) and female vocalist Lady Clarisse, who - merely by playing with vocals, heavy keyboards, samples and sporadic percussion - create a wonderful atmosphere around the medieval legendary secret Ordo Libidis. It sounds like a neo-classical soundtrack. It's nice and dark, slow, sometimes romantic, then again ominous, but more importantly: it's very good. [Mind View]

Equimanthorn -- "Exalted Are The 7 Throne Bearers Of Ninnkigal" -- CD -- €9

Exploplasmatic Coagulation -- "C++ (Selected Works 2005-2010)" -- CD-R -- €7
2010 InterioRepertoR, IR04
Exploplasmatic Coagulation is one of the projects of Moscow based musician Oleg Hurvatov, also known for Interior Disposition and Lanceolaria Im Licht Der Laterne. Like the author says himself, "if the matter of two other projects, anyhow, is the internal side of the human ego, Exploplasmatic Coagulation enters in sphere of mechanical interactions. The sound becomes the tool - a microscope or a scalpel opening a micron wrong side of the world." Cold abstract ambient and non-aggressive noise fields with spatial atmosphere.

Fear And Aghast / 21 Gramms -- "Sick Reality Is Immersed In A Void Of Time" -- CD-R -- €9
2010 Black Drone: 13 Series, 13-9, (ltd. 26)
Beautiful gothic dark ambient in best traditions of CMI and Fluttering Dragon from two Polish projects. Funeral atmosphere and fantastic piano parts. Sleeve. [YAOP]

Flutwacht -- "Secondface" -- CD + CD-R -- €14
2008 The Tourette Tapes, TT#9, (ltd. 77)
Reissue of one of the limited CDRs in vast Flutwacht's discography, originally published in an edition of 50 copies. This is actually an album of cover-versions of the title track, performed by such projects as Xedh, Contagious Orgasm, Objekt/Urian, Vincenzo Bossi, Antracot, TZII, Bonemachine, Synomorph, Terg and Hyeno. The album is closed by the original track by Flutwacht, which sounds quite unusual for this project - rhythmic, almost danceable industrial hit. All other versions can be divided in two groups: first (strangely small) shows the adherence to shock tactics and heavy rhythms, while second prefers dark ambient with deep atmospheric bass sounds as if created from machine samples or even field recordings. Limited edition of 77 copies. [Monochrome Vision]

Folkstorm -- "Ortodox" -- CD -- €12
2009 Old Europa Cafe, OECD 126
Screaming vocals, harsh analogue filter sweeps, pulsing distorted sines and squares... Folkstorm has never sounded this angry and mean. Maybe it is a reflection of the current state of things - regression, massunemployment and a corrupt financial system about to implode. Ortodox is a return to the fine tradition of making music all analogue - no computers, no sequencers or modern trickery. A pure celebration of classic Swedish Industrial music, and a protector of values that are about to be lost. [label info]

Frisch, Johannes & Ralf Wehowsky -- "Unwahrscheinlichkeiten" -- CD -- €16
2010 Waystyx, WR64, (ltd. 188)
The duo of Johannes Frisch and Ralf Wehowsky has already showed up on the "Tränende Würger" CD (Korm Plastics, 2005). The main instrument of Frisch is double bass, the trademark approach of Wehowsky is pedantic electronic sound transformation aiming towards artifacts and tiny details of sound to be put to the foreground. The collaboration of these two musicians combines modern neoclassical and concrete music with complex psycholigical compositional structure. The album consists of three tracks. The first one was recorded real-time with minimal post-editing. The second one contains two recordings of the same piece, taped after each other during the same recording session. The third track consists of 3 excerpts from one recording, played back in different speeds and layered over each other. Pathologically strange sound of a classical instrument, filtered under a meticulous supervision of a German composer - the accents are put on microscopic details of double bass, all rustles and creaks are put to the front, supported by strange electronic sounds as if sucked by syringes from the wires of pick-ups and effects modules. Recommended to the rare lovers of getting into the very depth of sound. Special cardboard sleeve.

Frog -- "s/t" -- CD -- €16
2010 Waystyx, WR49, (ltd. 146)
New side-project of Christian Renou known for his project Brume. Monotonous haunting and sometimes almost danceable beats are layered over looped electroacoustic sounds and dark ambient pierced by lengthy droning lines. Fascinating industrial rhythms, elaborate compositional structure and fantastic depth of sound from the true master of musique concrete... Non-standard hand painted cover from thick cardboard.

Frontier Guards -- "Predestination " -- CD -- €10
2008 Aliens Production, AP 18, (ltd. 550)
Cybernetic revolution in our community is getting new face and at ALIENS PRODUCTION we would like to present very promising project, that will make a debut in our label with very strong album. Dazing, dark ambiental surfaces in which are concentraiting various space dust and catastrophic references and heritage. Music, that will very fast drawn you and won't let you back. Bright palette of sounds, noises and unexpected turns will follow you during this whole space trip. To songs very often seconds hybrid beats and industrial marches. Mix of idm, ambient and synthetic electornics. On cd will be great remixes by projects like: Oxyd, Subheim and Anhedonia. In our family for now the most darkest album, that will tickle to imaginarilly tuned listeners and also this material will present by its visual concept excellent photographer Tom Galle and his futuristic compositions, that goes with this creative grown project. Since the early 2000's, up until the UK tour in the summer of 2008, Gelsomina has been the musical outlet of Finnish Harsh Noise fiend, Pekka PT. A brutal mix of junk metal abuse and pedal worship, sometimes resulting in total unflinching chaos and other times resulting in a more structured industrial noise masterwork. Having released dozen's of tapes, cd's and vinyl it was never going to be an easy task to wittle it all down to CD length but through the critical eyes of the man himself, Pekka has managed to pull together 74 minutes of what he considers the best of his Gelsomina, and I couldn't agree more. Featuring a full colour tray card and 4 page booklet with liner notes by Mikko Aspa (Grunt/Freak Animal Records) and Pasi Markkula (Bizarre Uproar/Filth and Violence). Essential Harsh Noise document by a now defunct but legendary project. But it's not all bad; Watch out, Sick Seed is on the rise! [press-release]

Gnomonclast -- "Tempus Null" -- CD -- €13
2010 Old Europa Cafe, OECD 125
Great debut release by this US project. This debut album consists of 20 tracks, which includes a cover of Death In June’s “Rose Clouds of Holocaust,” and also features collaborations with ARt ABSCONs and State Research Bureau. GoGooo -- "Long, Lointain" -- CD -- €11
2007 Baskaru, karu:9
Far-away sounds, close to the heart... Delicately-played instruments whose sounds, once sampled and digitally treated, seem to permeate our ears from a distant world both strange and strangely familiar. And yet, the resulting music is intimate as can be, full of untold and evocative imagery... GoGooo is Gabriel Hernandez, born in 1979 in Grenoble, France. Gabriel started making music because he wanted to accompany his guitar-playing cousin. Untrained, he turned to the computer, and thus came to life their duo Simagre'e. Other collaborations ensued with Alain Basso (Sol III) and Daisuke Miyatani (Miyagooo)... "Long, lointain" [Long, far] is GoGooo's first professional full-length release, following a number of net releases, CDR EPs and compilation appearances. 2007 is a coming-out year for GoGooo, with additional releases on labels such as (1.8)sec Records (Canada), Magic Book (Japan), EKO (France) and his own netlabel Rain Music... "Long, lointain" features 10 short pieces exerting a fleeting charm, populated with field recordings, found sounds and skeletons of melodies, all delicately arranged to titillate and soothe your ears. This music can be compared to electroacoustic folk for its instrumentation, but is actually unique in style. [press-release]

Gyvata / Pragnavit -- "Broliai Karelin Jojo / Ad Gloriam" -- CD -- €10
2010 Crivia Records, RITUAL03, (ltd. 350)
Crivia Records presents its next release: a split between young Lithuanian band GYVATA and Belarussian project PRAGNAVIT, dedicated to the glorious anniversary - 600 years of the Battle of Grunwald. Belarussians and Lithuanians celebrate their great victory just like hundreds of years ago! The release consists of two parts: first is the debut album of GYVATA "Broliai Karelin Jojo"; second is the new work by PRAGNAVIT "Ad Gloriam"... The band GYVATA from Klaipeda is yet little known outside Lithuania, but after the release of "Broliai Karelin Jojo" the situation will undoubtedly change - because in front of us is one of the most promising groups in the Lithuanian folk scene. The young musicians succeeded to show the root Baltic music from the completely new and unusual point of view, by giving modern sound to ancient melodies and not breaking the thousand year old harmony. We should also mention the important fact that one of the band's members is Donatas Bielkauskas more known for his project DONIS. Altogether there are twelve musicians in GYVATA! "Broliai Karelin Jojo" features five tracks of the Lithuanians... There's no need in presenting the Belarussian project PRAGNAVIT from Mogilev. This is one of the oldest dark ambient bands in Eastern Europe whose albums are well-known outside of Belarus. The musicians behind the project, Vojst and Kastus Kancavy couldn't stand aside of celebrating the great victory of the Great Lithuanian Principality and here presented the new edge of their creativity - militant, symphonic and aggressive. "Ad Gloriam" features five tracks of the conceptual album dedicated to the Battle of Grunwald, and the sixth bonus track dedicated to heroes fighting for freedom of Belarus under Stalin's regime... Crivia Records puts a lot of attention in the quality of its releases, so the mastering work for this CD was done by famous German musician Axel Frank (WERKRAUM), who have worked with such musicians as DER BLUTHARSCH, CHANGES, FORSETI, GAE BOLG, STURMPERCHT, TRIARII... The release is presented in spot-varnished mat digipak with the artwork featuring works by the well-known Belarussian painter Pavel Tatarnikov. [press-release]

In Meditarivm -- "The Great Limbo" -- CD -- €10
2010 Wrotycz Records, WRT 010, (ltd. 500)
In Meditarivm is an Ukrainian apocalyptic ritual & dark ambient project organized in 2000 by Olegh Kolyada known by his projects First Human Ferro, Ostarbeiter and Oda Relicta. The albums like “Les Fleurs du Mal” and “Uterus” outlined the old school approach of the project clearly influenced by highlights of Morthound, Ildfrost, ConSono or Archon Satani. "The Great Limbo" is based on the re-engineered early works selectively crafted anew in summer 2009 at Olegh's Oda Relicta home studio. An elusory history of the project proceeds with a special Wrotycz Records release. J Orphic -- "Cum Ipse Gratia" -- CD-R -- €8
2010 UFA Muzak, UFA 36, (ltd. 120)
Martial / Neoclassic / Avanti. Roman tsar, Pax Romana, the holy dictator Gaius Iulius: as a holy writer, hides behind our backs and we hear the secret hymns of the triumvirate. The son of Venus, million times slowed down in word and prayer - of colour and fall. Modern neoclassicism of J Orhic tells us, with the voices of the living party, that is not allowed to listen to by profanes. Minor tones of icy speech, neoclassical counterpoints and artificiality of sound. Industrial as an echo in the throne room where 23 stab wounds were given, and the walls changed the sound, coloured the length of parts with the amethyst spectrum. Imperium. Militaria. Ad extra. 11 tracks, 70 minutes, CDR, non-standard cardboard sleeve, 3 inserts. [press-release]

Larva 108 -- "99.09 | Inside The Stones" -- CD -- €10
2010 Greytone, grey007, (ltd. 500)
"99.09 Inside the stones" is a collection of the most significant tracks made by LARVA 108 during the first 10 years. 12 songs for 60 minutes. A sountrack for walking alone through a winter snowstorm or between the trees during a grey day of november. Experimental, electronica, drones create organic gloomy atmospheres... LARVA is born in 1999 when Guido (also known as 108) began to make some experiments with a PC, an old DOS software called Fasttracker and some other tools, instruments and pedal effects. Strongly influenced during his youth by people like William Burroughs and by movies like Decoder, he finally found a way to express himself with an old computer. The main goal was to produce a sound inspired by nature, a soundtrack for landscapes, moments and for abstract visual productions, to make something disturbing or just a way to escape from this world for few moments. LARVA is heavily connected with the 108's visual productions so the project name turned in to LARVA 108. Since 2002, Guido is also active with the dark ambient/noise band called CORPOPARASSITA and from this moment the sound of LARVA 108 changed a bit becoming more organic and less noisy, with more electronica on it. During these years he released many pieces, always strictly limited to few copies on tapes and CDr, home made most of the times and very hard to find. In 2008 108 created some soundscapes for the installations called "La bolla di legno" inside the Triennale di Milano and in Wroclaw (Poland) at the BWA gallery. During the years he collaborated with many artists and with the coreographer Tamara Gvozdenovic. [press-release]

Lycia -- "Cold" -- CD -- €10
1996 Projekt, PROJEKT67
Barren frozen and cold, visions of blowing snow. Isolation. Sharp as icicles, as numb as freezing rain, beautiful as the glitter on snowy trees, as blinding as the sun in winter. Reflections back to autumn... crisp and cool. On fire with the color of changing leaves. Uneasy, like a ride on a haunted carousel. The new season begins... a million miles away from the desert. Marchetti, Lionel -- "Sirrus" -- CD -- €11
2001 Auscultare Research, aus 014
Enter Lionel Marchetti, a fine member of the concrete school, who opts for the spins of the tape machine and processing rather than the laptop. Marchetti's music abstracts sounds at points equal to Schaffear and Luc Ferrari. But an even closer reference point is Stockhausen's "Sans la Soleil" as well as Karlheinz's other abstract works (although that segment of Stockhausen’s corpus is not strictly speaking musique concrete)... Marchetti's music, however, channels more eclectic sources than Stockhausen's. In “Passerele,” a fragment of wild organ brings a moment of warmth to a landscape of analog blurbs. “Sirrus” features some sped-up sounds providing a balance to the darker drones below. At times the album has the feel of a full fledged score, with sounds disengaged from their original source congealing into symphonic structures... On pieces like “Micro-climat,” though, Marchetti uses a structure closer to field recordings than the abstract sequences of distortions that make up much concrete. Perhaps Marchetti owes a little to the acoustic-ecology of R. Murray Schafer in that this work sounds more like a study of the acoustics of an environment than a direct abstraction of a symphonic score. But Marchetti seems less worried than Schafer about decorating casual listening environments with a conceptual premise. Sirrus is a complex work, with each segment unfolding into a recurring motif of ambient noises that's ahead of the pack of laptop manipulators... Marchetti’s work is hardly a new direction for concrete, but holding Marchetti up to such groundbreaking impositions might be too lofty. Like the clicks-and-cuts punks who see this school as their predecessors, what’s important here is that the music on Sirrus is a challenging, rewarding, and engaging experience, just not a new one. Massive Ejaculation -- "Pony Express" -- CD -- €10
2009 24919 Records, CD24919-02, (ltd. 500)
First line-up of Massive Ejaculation was gathered in Fleetwood, Lancashire to plat rock'n'roll. First release "Anarcho-hippy with dogs" consisted of 86 songs about violence and was released on a 6-minute cassette by Smith Research label. The cover was made of fragments of 11 pirate videocassettes with the movies by Aristide Massacceze (Italian porn director). 15 years later the basic discography of Massive Ejaculation is presented on a CD by Russian label 24919. [Monopolka] Wildly joyful collage noise, horribly dirty sound of archive tapes and natural "shitcore" which will clean the remainings of your brain out of brainpan, and in the end - a fervent remake of Ministry song. All this is "Pony Express". [label info] Digipak.

Moljebka Pvlse -- "Zojo" -- CD -- €10
2010 Greytone, grey008, (ltd. 500)
The Moljebka Pvlse album Zojo was recorded during the Mathias studies at the Royal Institute of Art. He was inspired by the longest night of the year in Stockholm, the day when there is almost no daylight. His ambition was to make an acoustic album of minimal music without any musical instruments. Moljebka Pvlse setup long nylon strings across his entire studio at school, which he then plucked and bowed and recorded with his favorite contact microphones on that very night. These recordings became the fundament of the album and set the tone for the rest of the work. Moljebka Pvlse are very grateful for the contribution by the Japanese artist Michiko Kashiba on this album. [press-release]

"The Ominous Silence" is more musical album than its followers, with a lot of piano, guitar and synth melodic parts like in the classical tracks "De Sorte Traer" and "Pain Is Better", but the typical Northaunt elegiac melancholy and dark gloomy nordic ambient soundscapes are already here. This edition has completely new artwork, new mastering and a bonus track, it is limited to 470 copies and comes in a stylish monochrome mini LP-like embossed cover with inner sleeve and three inserts. Penjaga Insaf -- "Sama Sadja" -- CD -- €13
2010 Power & Steel, PAS 27
For several years Ingo Sauerbrey made extensive travels through Indonesia, always carrying recording equipment to collect sounds as an audio diary. During periodic return trips to Germany, he started to work on the recordings with electronic devices. Some sounds were edited, cut and transformed, while others were kept completely intact. To name a few sound sources only recordings from Water Puppet and Shadow Theatres, Gamelan and various welcoming and fighting dances like Kecak, Jegog and the Tarian Caci were used for this album. Some of those impressive performances were made of 60 to 90 men chanting and dancing while a bamboo orchestra used 4 meter long bamboo sticks playing bass drums on it. SAMA SADJA is waving together the sounds of living traditions, religions and languages with spherical ambient pads and electronically edited drones from the field recordings. This is an contemplative and intimate soundtrack from the deepest heart of South East Asia. [press-release]

Picatrix -- "Quaestio Prima" -- CD -- €10
2005 Juggernath Recordings, JUG 001
Luigi Seviroli is a professional composer working for several major TV networks in Italy, including RAI and Mediaset. Basing his musical work on the novels of the well-known italian writer Valerio Evangelisti and the character of the inquisitor Nicolas Eymerich, “Quaestio Prima” has been already defined by Evangelisti himself as the only opus able to incarnate the spirit of the novels, as well as of being a true soundtrack to the dark landscapes surrounding Eymerich... “Quaestio Prima” is a professional composed and recorded “soundscape”, a storytelling masterpiece ranging from darkambient interrogative pulsings to acoustic and traditional grand openings. Intense surroundings will draws the listener to realities banned by time or forgotten by men, yet real and invasive... Hard to be further labelled, this first album from Picatrix offers a complex yet straight musical texture with a particular attention to sounds, production and composition. We strongly recommend to listen to it carefully in order to get you own personal picture. [press-release]

2008 Inner Gravity Records, IGR 005
Italian trio Santa Agostino have been around since 2005. "La Morte..." tells of noises from beyond the grave, playing the journey of no return from the death phase - and the return of those who are reborn more rotten and foul than before. A mix of noise drone and glitch, in the typical vein of Raster Noton and Mego, with moments of musique concrete. "Threshold field recording... minimalist, futurist sound architecture". [Cold Spring]

Sink -- "The Process" -- CD -- €10
2008 Kaos Kontrol / Kult Of Nihilow, (ltd. 1000)
There is obscure and then there is Obscure. The difference is subtle, but when you hear Sink, you know the limit between obscure and Obscure has been surpassed. The Process is a beast that drags you below the surface and lets you gasp for air just enough to keep conscious and experience the horror. Monumental wall of sound built from demented vibrations, violent distortion, wailing feedback, reverberating clashes and almost choral (in)human voices echoing in your mind like amplified painful memories; and when the wall collapses, the undertow pulls you deeper into paranoid and disturbing surroundings filled with static drones, scorching electrical trills and gravely impressive Obscurity that defies mental health. You may never reach back to the surface… This is not a sludge record. This is not a drone record. This is not an experimental record. This is The Process. Released in co-operation by Kult of Nihilow and Kaos Kontrol. CD comes in special fold-out full colour carton sleeve. [press-release]

Spreu & Weizen -- "Gott Erhalt's. Roman Edition" -- CD-R -- €9
2010 UFA Muzak, UFA 37, (ltd. 100)
Martial / Neoclassic. The reissue of the best album of the German duo S&W is dedicated to honour the great European thinker - baron Julius Evola. His imperial superhuman ideas inspire those "last" people who still consider the traditional principles unbreakable. And martial industrial music scene honours his writings and contribution in the new conservative mentality against total bourgeois order. Steeping deep in the musical epic fields of the Aryan project we see a marching Roman column with a raised fascia, and through the rumble one can hear the roaring cry: "Going to death, we hail you!" On this album you'll find the rattling explosive martial with tragic neoclassic in vein of Von Thronstahl with lots of epic samples. "Romans had clear and aristocratic vision of the afterworld, very close to the spirituality of the "Olympic" type common for the period of all the great Indo-European civilizations. They did not fear death. They believed great men and heroes would have the priviledge of godlike and bright immortality..." - Julius Evola. 11 tracks, 60 minutes, pro-CDR, cardboard A5 sleeve + insert. [press-release]

SRMeixner -- "Between The Lines" -- CD -- €10
2003 Dirter Promotions, DPROMCD 51
From the ashes of leading experimental outfit, Contrastate, comes the self-named srmeixner project. Electronic music and field recordings are utilised to create a sonic soundtrack to an apocalyptic world exploring a sense of space and architecture inspired by Daniel Libeskind's Jewish Museum in Berlin. This is music inspired by the past, but very much of the future. The music resembles minimal modern architecture, and is a perfect aural example of the 'less-is-more' principle. An excellent release. [Cold Spring]

Strangulated Beatoffs -- "Reverse Child Psychology" -- CD -- €10
2001 Nihilist, NIHIL 15
There are nine long tracks here, again based on tape loops of all sorts of music, but mainly these boys are into a sort of wacky sort of techno music, like in “Lightning Bolt Nightmares” or “(I’m) Big Dick Black” played with raw loops of guitar noises and phased synthesizer. Strange music, as each track is quite different from the rest, but it’s sort of a coherent style they present. Weird and raw, but then also quite accessible too. Simple, yet effective music which despite the fact that they use loops, which might easily leap into boredom. But it doesn’t. Nice one here. [Vital Weekly]

Svartsinn -- "Of Darkness And Re-Creation" -- CD -- €12
2003/2010 Ewers Tonkunst, HHE 026 CD / Cyclic Law, , 5th Cycle, (ltd. 500)
First in a series of collaborations between Ewers Tonkunst and Cyclic Law, this is a re-issue of long sold out second Svartsinn album from the year 2003. "Of Darkness And Re-Creation" is a "collection of stories based on heavy mind struggles, emotional complicity or elegies which either leads to emptiness or dark places for a re-creation of the self image. Darkness is all around us or inside each and every one of us, let's not fear it.. Prosper in darkness..." (from the original edition release notes). Maybe most hopeless and desperate music ever done by Svartsinn's mastermind's Jan Roger Pettersen, it is definitely one of the classical works from this "new" generation of dark ambient artists that were gathered around Cyclic Law in the first decade of 2000's. This edition has completely new artwork and new mastering, it is limited to 500 copies and comes in a stylish monochrome mini LP-like cover with inner sleeve, both with some silkscreened elements. On the contrary to the folky bandname and CD title, this is absolutely NOT a new Alpine-Folk project! T.H.S. is a Electronic project from ATROX - ANTRACOT - BOLESKINE. Some tracks are really experimental with a lot of feedback, others have deep rhythms and/or are even mesmerising. A very strange but good listenable album with even more strange lyrics. Anyway worth to taste! [Steinklang]

Tole Ache -- "A Pure Black Night" -- CD-R -- €7
2003 Psych.KG, Psych.KG, (ltd. 200)

Topografia -- "Genius Loci" -- CD -- €10
2010 Greytone, grey005, (ltd. 500)
Another project by Maciej Banasik, known for his ambient/noise project ATUM. Genius Loci uses deep drones, acoustic instruments’ sounds and field recordings registered near the author’s place of living (Jaworzno). The project was inspired by the author’s personal fascination with the diversity of nature and the philosophy of Schopenhauer, who considered nature to be one of the most primaeval manifestations of a blind and aimless will, a will which we too are a part of. Trama afonA -- "s/t" -- CD -- €10
2010 Greytone, grey004
Trama afonA is the sound/visual project by Lorenzo Scacchia - an attempt to tramaphonise (convey) what he sees in the dark and hears into silence. This Cinematic Dark Ambient album constitutes the first official release, gathering tracks composed between 2005 and 2008. TA pays particular attention to individual and specific human stories, rather than to history... focusing on what happens behind the scenes, aside, beneath. Opening doors and drawers using the sole curiosity as tool, walking backwards the traces of memory, wandering amid shades and details given by mystery, decadence, abandon, romanticism. Carefully delving into psychological dynamics. Openly denouncing the social plagues, but often humbly providing just visual and sound suggestions. Digipak. [label info]

Troum -- "Eald-Ge-Streon" -- CD -- €14
2009 Beta-lactam Ring Records, mt181, (ltd. 500)
CD in a full color deluxe gatefold book bound cd case - single cd edition. Design, layout and artwork by Stephen O'Malley. Welcome to the Thunderdome. Troum’s bone-cracking reverberations respirate with such ferocity that all non-Troum molecules are blown away. Eald-Ge-Streon is a massive, rising beauty. It is a great becoming, and we are nothing but an ant in the afterbirth. Troum has set its controls beyond the heart of the Sunn. The pulsating inferno of these 7 drone concertos may require an insurance adjuster, but what a lovely way to burn. It is in your nature to do one thing correctly. Before Troum, you rightly tremble. But fear is not what you owe Troum. You owe Troum awe! [press-release]

Utarm is Norway's Sindre Foss Skancke and "Minus The Divine" is the incredible new album released as follow up to 2007's "Mutilation Epoch". Experimental Black Metal and Noise rolled into one well composed and certainly exciting if not bizarre sounding album. All the best bits of Skullflower, early industrial and influences drawn from his countries native Black Metal underworld fighting for space amongst a backdrop of blackened Harsh Noise filth. Valvula Antirretorno -- "Dios Existe" -- CD-R -- €10
2005 Slaughter Productions, SPCD55, (ltd. 100)
VALVULA ANTIRRETORNO is new spanish promising industrial, powerelectronic duo. "Dios Existe" featuring 5 tracks, a very nice work including as first track a great Esplendor Geometrico cover "quince anos tiene mi amor" rmx... really deranged and schizophrenic with smashing rythms and psycho's voice. Other tracks are excellent, from the more noisy to the more quiet.. like the last track "amen" a very ambient track with a very nice trick near the end. Highly recommended, very nice entertainment... Limited to 100 copies in standard jewel case. [press-release]

Vetrophonia -- "1987/1989" -- 2 CD-R -- €10
2010 ALF Produktion, ALF Produkt N14, (ltd. 48)
These two disks contain the prehistory of Vetrophonia we know now. The material was recorded in 1987-89 even before Alexander Lebedev-Frontov met Nick Soudnick. At first it was considered to be a Linija Mass album, but then obtained a separate sense and formed into a different project. The real Soviet noise collage industrial.

VoidWork -- "Horror/Forsaken" -- CD -- €14
2010 Black Drone, BDRL006
A beautiful release by VoidWork featuring Ann-Mari from Arcana on vocals. Comes in a 4-panel digipak. Horror/Forsaken is a double album based loosely on the concepts of fear, abandonment and mankind's meaningless place in an impersonal Universe. "Horror", the first half of the release, is relatively song oriented and was inspired musically by nineties dark wave, as well as traditional melodies of both Eastern and Western culture. "Forsaken" mainly carries traditional dark ambient influences and focuses on atmosphere rather than on conventional song structure or sound. Both dark halves come together to make a black whole that is organic in its origin and purpose. From waking to sleep, birth to death. [press-release]

Finnish label Aural Hypnox was founded only in 2004 but has already obtained reputation of qualified provider of dark drone/ritual music with their project Halo Manash. The new band on this label sounds quiet in vein - music is based on eerie guitar feedback textures, archaic drum and cymbal patterns, atonal/tonal vocalizations and various distant/peculiar sample layers. "To exhaust mind and body in order to obtain a condition of non-consciousness and thus receive, realize and create material based on both primal and absent vision". The CD comes in octagon shaped cardboard cover which you can easily use as wall-decoration in your room.

Alisa-Yhtye -- "s/t" -- CD-R -- €6
2009 Triangle Records, [TR042], (ltd. 100)
Grigory Avrorin makes noise since 1997. He started in a band TALONOV NET, and after it's breakup continued to improve his skills in heir band TEA MAN WITH TEA GUM. Later there were such projects as SOVIET SEX MACHINES, MONOPOLKA and some more. In the last years Avrorin paid more attention to his solo work. His noise researches are presented to the audience under various titles, the most known of them are GRA, FREDRIKSON, CHELOVEK V SHTANAH, FON-BARON, DOKTOR KINCHEV, NOISE WENDY, ALISA-YHTYE, HUREN AQUARIUM, VIOLINIST IN ASSHOLE, G. Avrorin. Most of his works have their own recognisable sound, namely dirty, disharmonic and aurally disgusting. ALISA-YHTYE is not an exception and represents junk industrial mixed with scrap noise. Nevertheless it sounds very noble and traditional, the listener immediately feels the atmosphere of late 80-s - early 90-s. Sluggish hardly heard noise is interlaced with metal gritting and percussion. Feedback whistles quietly, and G. Avrorin leisurely emits another cloud of cigarrete smoke. Noble old school industrial noise. [press-release]

Atomine Elektrine -- "Nebulous" -- CD -- €14
2007 Essence Music, ESS007, (ltd. 800)
On this second installment for Essence Music, Peter Andersson brings ATOMINE ELEKTRINE to an utterly refined and perfectionist sphere! The trancey beats and sacral atmosphere of Binomial Fusion are past and widely replaced by a truly out-of-body, deeply layered and dynamic cosmic experience in form of a masterful ambience filled with energy outbursts, synthetic movements and algorithmical rhythms. An aural projection for a detailed exploration of nebulas, black holes, exploding stars and unknown deep corners of the cosmos. Very much influenced by the electronic side of the kraut scene and with the ability of imposing his very own classic trademark, Andersson sets a new stone and makes Nebulous one of the greatest albums related to this genre since the early 70’s. Another amazing proof of talent from this Swedish genius! Presented in an snowy white gatefold digisleeve and tracing paper packaging. [label info]

Aube -- "Ambera Planeta Wawar" -- CD -- €10
2007 Autarkeia, acd 025
AUBE Ambera Planeta Wawar goldenCD was the first bootleg issued by AUTARKEIA label. However, after the author Akifumi Nakajima apologised to us for his "negligence“, the misunderstandings between AUTARKEIA and Akifumi were cleared out. In the meantime after the author recognised the bootleg, AUBE Ambera Planeta Wawar goldenCD has acquired a new status. This publication has become an official release of the project, while its previous concept (that of a bootleg) became meaningless. The exclusive record by the Japanese genius is based on excellent psychedelic ambient and the collages of extreme, structural noise music. The release is sold in an elegant digipack, which is probably the first in AUBE history. [press-release]

Bad Sector -- "CMASA" -- CD -- €13
2009 Power & Steel, PAS 23
In 2005 Massimo Magrini was invited to provide a soundtrack for the M3M art exhibition in Pisa/Italy. The exhibition was based around images of the seaside and the rivers estuary of Pisana area with CMASA airplane factory built there in it's centre vis a vis of archaic marine cottages. This marvelous seaside scenery mixed with vintage industrial locations, together with some kind of nostalgia, created an unexpected but amazing mood. To sculpture a soundtrack of this scenery Massimo Magrini was asked to use acoustic and natural sounds too and so he added for this work treated piano and snippets of acoustic guitars together with water sounds and metal samples. This may sound unusual for a BAD SECTOR release but all those new elements are perfectly blent into the massive and ambient soundwaves for what previous releases are known for and making CMASA probably to the most emotional album of Massimo Magrini to date. All initial exhibition sounds where regenerated, remastered and re-assembled during 2007-2009. Digipack. [press-release]

2009 EE Tapes, EE17, (ltd. 300)

Blood Box -- "The Iron Dream" -- CD -- €11
2004 Eibon Records, Blo047
Bringing dark ambient to a new dimension... Coming from the genius mind of Michael JV Hensley (YEN POX & HOLLOW EARTH), BLOOD BOX became a sort of CULT for the dark ambient freaks thanks to the previous cd "A world of hurt", whose monstrously deep droning ambient created an ideal soundtrack to the apocalypse. A million miles away from earth, in the empty vaults of space, where collapsing stars cry and solar winds blow, BLOOD BOX captures the anxiety of a moaning universe. The chants of a dying supernova, the sound of a multi-dimensional worm-hole, where gravitational gradients capture light and turn it into a formless singularity... To the end of night... [label info]

Brand, Steve -- "Looking into the Other" -- CD-R -- €9
2007 Afe Records, afe094lcd, (ltd. 100)
Ritual / Tribal / Ambient. Steve Brand has been creating sound art and visual art since the mid-80's. From 1995 to 2003 he was active as Augur, creating obscure and organic music which was released on many labels worldwide, including The Foundry, Manifold, Alluvial, Self-Abuse and others. During the years he had the chance to collaborate with artists such as Jeph Jerman (Hands To, Animist Orchestra), Rick Kitch (I Am Umbrella, Lucky Cricket), PBK, James P. Keeler (Wilt), Brooke Oates (Birds of Tin), etc. His atmospheres, alarmingly austere, with varying shades of gray, are drenched in allusion and a heightened sense of cinematic noir for the listener. According to his own words, "emotional aspects of a recording always come first". Consisting of six long tracks, "Looking Into the Other" takes up where "Awakensong" (...released on Afe in April 2006...) left off, expanding the exploration of twilight worlds. The album utilizes bells, synthesizers, voice, various flutes, medicine drums, cymbals, fiddle, rattles, prayer bowls, etc. Once again, with this work Steve has created an high quality and excellent album of deeply emotional music, and proved himself as one of the most inspired authors in contemporary Ritual Ambient... Derniere Volonte -- "Obeir Et Mourir" -- 2 CD -- €30
Nuit Et Broulliard, NB.CD.06
Re-issue of the mythical double tape-boxset released by La Nouvelle Alliance in 1998 in a limited and numbered edition of 120 copies (L.N.A. 01). Only 90 were finally edited that time. All original material was entirely remastered and seven unreleased tracks from the same recording sessions were added for a tolal length of about 140 mns/28 tracks. Unlike to the recent releases of this French one-man project "Obéir et Mourir" includes neither any singing nor pop-influences. The sound here is a great blending of dark ambient soundscapes, militaristic percussion samples and tape-voices taken from World War II' documentaries. Powerful anthems march in front of melodic tracks and oppressive atmospheres reflecting perfectly the climate of the 30's and of the 40's made of fury, pain and tears… "Obéir et mourir" is nothing but an audio and visual illustration of these dark days... The two CDs come in cardboard cover with a 14 postcard-set, housed in a deluxe dark green boxset with embossed front-picture and bronze printings. [press-release]

Gelsomina -- "Nostalghia" -- CD -- €10
2004/2006 Cipher Productions, (sic 28) / Musically Incorrect Records, MIRCD2, (ltd. 500)
The name Gelsomina was encountered before, on a bunch of CDR compilations from Finnish Musically Incorrect Records, who also released 'Rautavaara'. The first ten tracks on 'Nostalgia' were originally released by Smell The Stench in 2004 as a cassette. Gelsomina is the nom de plume for Pekka PT, who is credited for 'noise' and noise is what we get. Loud obnoxious feedback and distortion, the full works are here. Unlike others in this field, Gelsomina has 'depth', has 'variation' and has 'skil' - three factors not always present in the work of the lesser imaginative noise makers. Even when Gelsomina walks the paths of noise that is now paved like a highway and no longer a 'find your way in the bush', he still does a pretty fine job, pretty much along the lines of a good Merzbow. One of the better noise makers I encountered recently. [Vital Weekly]

Gravitar -- "Edifier" -- CD -- €10
2001 Manifold Records, mancd27
Experimental improvised rock music with traditional for rock bands instruments: drums, guitars, effects, vocals. At the same time there's no "song" structure at all, the music is in permanent change which is more peculiar to electronic musicians, varying from calm acoustic pieces to almost noise themes.

Green Army Fraction -- "Caste War - Back In Their Place" -- CD -- €11
2006 Steinklang Industries, SK38
Green Army Fraction travels through the totality of Indo-Europa, from the far East to the high North, to present you his personal vision of individuality and collective consciousness in the light of the Absolute and the Self. A metaphysical speculation wrapped in harsh and well structured power electronics, crowned with screaming dirtorted and clean vocals and many fine samples. Songtitles like "Yggdrasil 3000" and "Heliga Nord" round the album to a powerful conceptual work about Eurasian understanding of spirituality. [press-release]

Gruntsplatter -- "Chronicling The Famine" -- CD -- €10
2003 Desolation House, DH-0200, (ltd. 1000)
The enigmatic Gruntsplatter is a malleable creature that hovers in the gray area between abrasive noise and dark ambient by combining the atmosphere of one with the density of the other. Evocative and subtle in its detail, its mood and depth of composition are incredibly refined. Gruntsplatter also draws, though somewhat esoterically, from literature, history, and the death rattles and rituals of an eroding gene pool. [press-release]

Herbst9 -- "The Gods Are Small Birds, But I Am The Falcon" -- CD -- €13
2008 Loki Foundation, LOKI 48The all new album of Herbst9 is a step further into the depths of the Assyrian and Asian mythologies, using authentic audio and visual fragments of sacrifices, lamentations, prayers and ancient rituals. The result is a deep labyrinth of sounds with meditative percussions, ghostly vocal fragments and singings which melts with detailed and multi-layered tones of various traditional instruments. All this is constructed around a core of dark and ongoing floating drones creating an atmosphere of true archaic music which has been developed by Herbst9 to perfection. This soundtrack is the secrecy from the deep and hidden places of the sacred earth transcending us beyond the real world to the inner realm of ourselves. The CD is presented in 6-panel digipack. Inner Vision Laboratory -- "Anywhere Out Of The World" -- CD -- €10
2010 Beast Of Prey, bop 7.0, (ltd. 500)
This new album by a Polish group explores the phenomenon of Ambient music. The project's use of surround sound, its combination of various styles and field recording methods makes it characteristic and easily recognizable. 'Anywere Out Of This World' will take you on an amazing journey into the world created by INNER VISION LABORATORY, a journey which will inspire your heart and spirit. This journey resonates with echoing sounds and folk songs invariably connected to Mother Earth. This album has a spirit - the spirit of Earth. On 'Anywhere Out Of This World' you will find perfectly arranged and well-balanced ambient compositions, spatial collages underpinned by folklore, which emphasizes the album's specific nature. As usual, suitable piano parts reflect the record's character. This over-50-minute album contains 11 tracks and is available in a full-colour Digipak. Edition of 500 copies. Karjalan Sissit -- "Fucking Whore Society" -- CD -- €14
2009 Cyclic Law, 25rd Cycle, (ltd. 2000)
At last, Karjalan Sissit return after 4 years of relative silence with their most obscure and harshest work ever. Fucking whore society is an anger and Vodka fueled bombastic opus inspired by the world's psychopathic state. A revolt against the cruel and sickly ways of today’s society and a visceral and personal statement denouncing betrayal. Karjalan Sissit have masterfully expanded their signature sound with dense ambient passages and unsettling vocals all combined with their intensely unique orchestral passages, presenting us their best and most intense work yet. Produced by Peter Bjärgö (Arcana / Sophia). Edition of 2000 copies In A5 gatefold cardboard sleeve. [press-release]

Karjalan Sissit -- "Karjalasta Kajahtaa" -- CD -- €14
2004/2009 Cyclic Law, 8th Cycle, (ltd. 1000)
The Finnish pioneer is back from the degenerated and alcoholized Swedish ghetto of Eskilstuna. 3rd full lenght from Markus Pesonen who now dove deeper into total Melancholy, Anti socialism, Bitterness, Disintegration and Alcoholism. Filled with what has defined KARJALAN SISSIT's sound thus far: Bombastic outbursts of Neo classical arrangements entwined in traditional Finnish Humppa and deep industrial sonorities. The songs were this time fiercly enhanced with some added vocals giving the whole album a much more aggressive touch. Again produced by Peter Bjärgö at Erebus Odora, this new album definitely stands above it's predecessors. Edition of 1000 copies in A5 book. 2nd edition. [press-release]

Maaaa -- "Kello On Soinut" -- MC -- €6
2008 B-Rush, [B-33], (ltd. 20)
First side of this cassette was recorded in 2007 and sent to Belgian musique concrete label Kourlyk which was closed soon after releasing because of serious desease of it's owner. A year later the project decided to put out this release on a small Karelian label with some new material for the B-side. The release has been delayed for several times because of strange events happening with project members and the publisher during the work on this release. Musically this differs a lot from what Maaaa has been doing before - the A-sise contains one long YAOP-like track composed from concrete samples of squeaking doors, ticking clocks, sirens, etc. Second part is more multi-layered: field recordings, occasional sounds, voice mantras, screams - all this merges into whole obscurely bewitching picture in vein of early works of :Zoviet France:. Artwork - orange cover, all information is typewritten, similar insert - everything is packed in a sewn mitten with attached hand bell. [press-release]

McKaras -- "Right To Stay Bestial!" -- CD -- €10
2008 Autarkeia, acd 032
The tracks of the album Right to Stay Bestial! have been recorded at least thirteen years ago. It travelled through the hands of lovers of dark electronics, among the Lithuanian underground people, in the form of a re-recorded CRD. Everyone admired depressing atmosphere, spite and sterile aggression of this disc. Today, the album author McKaras (McWAR) newly interpreted the old tracks, complemented them with a number of various samples and produced a new master. The results is an esp. fine, newly sounding album, the style of which can hardly be defined. Some may think it is hard techno, yet dancing is hardly possible to this rhythmic music. Gloomy atmosphere, aggressive rhythms, psychedelic loops will push the audience into heavy criminal and politically incorrect mood. The album is ideally suited for listening in the car driven towards criminal purposes. However, bear in mind the punishment, will you? Mckaras is to techno as Darkthrone is to black metal perhaps. Muslimgauze vs. Species Of Fishes -- "s/t" -- CD -- €13
2007 Tourette 003
Bryn [Jones] took 2 different albums of Species of Fishes to create this album. Because this is a remix, we get some different sounds than usual for a Muslimgauze release, which is nice! There are still occasional Arabic voices, and overall this release has a pleasant sound to it overall, not as 'challenging' as some Muslimgauze can be, but there are still spots that make you take hold, like, wow, what an ear piercing first song! This looped whistle gets into your head and makes the world a different place. Dubby sounds on track 2 with the trademark dropouts of Muslimgauze. There are other tracks with sharp sounds, but they aren't distorted like on some other releases - just the sharp without the static. This is a cool release for Muslimgauze. Some are take it or leave it, but this one is worth hearing. [EAR/Rational] Previously released in 1999 on Species Of Fishes (FCD 01). The original tracks from Species Of Fishes albums "Songs Of A Dumb World" and "Trip Trap" were used for this remix project. All remixes, summer/autumn 1998.

Navicon Torture Technologies -- "Scenes From The Next Millennium" -- CD -- €10
2001 Malignant Records, TUMOR CD15
After numerous underground tape releases and live actions, the much anticipated disc of this long standing member of the NYPE crew has arrived. Navicon presents an infinitely bleak and apocalyptic vision that transcends what's normally classified as power electronics. This is the sound of a post nuclear-war society, where war machines shudder and grind in endless cycles, and the black soot of dying factory production fills the poisonous air. Structured elements of loops and samples meld with caustic textures, erupting amidst bridled chaos and pulsating waves of white hot, saturated noise and distortion. An anguished, confrontational vocal presence makes itself known, exploding in a cathartic aggression brought on by suppressed demons and festering hate. [press-release]

New Risen Throne -- "Whispers of the Approaching Wastefulness" -- CD -- €14
2007 Cyclic Law, 18th Cycle
The latest offering and first for Cyclic Law of one of Italy's finest Black Ambient master. The main concept and transpiring feeling of this album and the title "Whispers of the approaching wastefulness" can best be described as the "steps" or "journey" leading to the acknowledgment of the approaching end of all things. "Whispers" represent doubts and thoughts about the prevalent decadence that is around and deep within us and "wastefulness" translates to the imminent, definitive end of all things, to oblivion... NEW RISEN THRONE's latest opus offers a bleak and sorrow filled soundtrack celebrating death with little hope for rebirth... This Enhanced CD features an exclusive bonus video clip of the unreleased track "Unknown (II)". [label info]

The Nordic Miracle -- "We Shall Provide" -- CD -- €10
2002 Humbug, Humbug009
For this first album as The Nordic Miracle, Jazzkammer's Lasse Marhaug and Origami Arktika's Tore Boe have collected their first three live performances, "unedited and unprocessed," presented between December 2000 and September 2001. All three are ferocious slabs of harsh noise in the most extreme, unruly way (think pre-laptop Merzbow or Government Alpha). Their sheer power turns them into physical experiences, but despite their blatant in-your-face nature, they hide clever twists and a bizarre sense of contrasting a propos. Don't try too hard to find relations between the referential titles and the musical contents. If you manage to find something by Bach or The Beatles in there, you may be listening to the wrong record. There is a guitar chord buried somewhere in the middle of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," but that's about it. Everything else is raging analog and digital noise. The aforementioned track makes good use of "outbursts" of silence (yes, in this context silence feels almost more violent than noise), while "Bach; Die Johannes-Passion BWV 245" can almost become ambient it is so relentlessly deafening. Followers of the Origami Arktika constellation, and even Jazzkammer fans, will be surprised by the brutality of this material. [Francois Couture, All Music Guide]

2006 Inner Gravity Records, IGR 004, (ltd. 500)
The final chapter in the Onirot trilogy (following on from Augusta and Ritualis). Deus Ex Machina delves into the dark heart of obscure contemporary cold ambience: Mechanical / Industrial sounds sprawl across heart-wrenching and inhuman, dark, deep and ancient star filled landscapes full of subtle sound threads. Deus Ex Machina is full of violent beauty delivered across five tracks of pure sonic anxiety. A fine Dark Ambient feast in the vein of Raison D'Etre or Herbst9 etc. [label info]

Propergol -- "Tormentor" -- 7" -- €8
2003 Nuit Et Brouillard, NB V 01, (ltd. 1000)
First 7" and vinyl release for this French confirmed project. "Tormentor" is dealing with usual PROPERGOL’s intimate obsessions and again music is nothing less than a reflection and an exploration of his confused and chaotic innerworld... Tracks are made of nervous, repetitive and hypnotic pulsations as well as noise injections and vocals in the typical PROPERGOL’s style made of anger and despair underlying his personal oversensitivity... With this 7", PROPERGOL takes you both to a trip to places overwhelming with imagination and to a mental journey on the sinuous and unhealthy roads of neurosis when your own imagination is becoming your most intimate enemy. Like a nice musical score on schizophrenia... Deluxe packaging on a glossy fold-out cover plus postcard. [press-release]

Rapoon / Cisfinitum -- "Mental Travellers" -- CD -- €12
2006 Ewers Tonkunst, HHE 012 CD, (ltd. 500)
"Mental Travellers" is a collaboration work created by mail during the year 2006. This record could be considered as an attempt to find the very deep basic background which is common for all the people independent of cultural environment or political barriers between nations and states. The delving into the very depth of the heart exposes these common roots, and "Mental Traveller" shows it perfectly with its complex structure and at the same time simple integrity. It is an excellent blend of both artists' distinctive features - the esoteric rhythmic patterns and mystical rustles by Robin Storey is intertwined with subtle and beautiful drone ambient waves by Eugene Voronovsky. The result is quite diverse and captivating, and most of the compositions remind us more of early Zoviet France than current Rapoon or Cisfinitum works. The final track called "Eurasia" features Russian ethnic female singer Toloka, whose archaic chanting makes a very natural conclusion for this mental travel to humanity's primordial roots. The CD comes in a full-colour fold-out digisleeve with artwork by Robin Storey, this edition is limited to 500 copies only. [press-release]

Reformed Faction -- "Until..." -- CD -- €13
2010 Greytone, grey002
"Until…" by Reformed Faction is a new set of recordings built around the ideas of abstract compositional instructions similar in meaning and intent to those used by Karlheinz Stockhausen in such works as “From the seven days”. Eager to create a diverse and ever changing catalogue of works Reformed Faction here embrace improvisation, a feature fundamental to all their recordings, with a different focus and sensibility allowing sounds to evolve slowly and sub-conciously across a unrestricted timescale. Reformed Faction are Robin Storey and Mark Spybey, both ex-members of zoviet*france and both with long established and productive solo careers as Rapoon and Dead Voices On Air respectively. Sanfilippo, Bruno -- "InTRO" -- CD -- €12
2006 AD21music, ad107
From the start, InTRO sets a relaxing, reflective mood. Sanfilippo maintains a consistent mood, which means the CD makes an ideal sountrack for relaxing and thinking. Eno has suggested that ambient music must be listenable as well as ignorable, supporting various levels of attention, and the tracks on InTRO are excellent examples of this idea. Highlights of the CD include InTROpiano, which recalls Vangelis Memories of Green and the Brian Eno/Harold Budd classic, The Pearl; and InTROvoices, which uses wordless voice sounds to create a choral and even orchestral texture. InTRO is one of the finest ambient releases we've heard this year. [Synthtopia.com]

Sanfilippo, Bruno -- "Piano Textures" -- CD -- €12
2007 AD21 Music, ad108
“Piano Textures” is an introspective album which offers center stage for the processed sounds of a Grand old piano from 1923, accompanied by some synthesizers, duduk and samples of strings. All eight tracks have a more or less cinematic impact, their sounds tap from some kind of subconscious source, breathing a sense of melancholy that was also found in his former recordings... santAAgostino -- "Operazione Paura" -- CD -- €10
2010 Greytone, grey002
SantAAgostino tell of the Noises from Beyond the Gate. SantAAgostino play the Journey of No Return from the Death Phase. SantAAgostino sing the Dark Zone of those who met the pain-soaked Demiurge and came back to Earth without forgiveness for their sins. SantAAgostino write about the laments and the looks of those who saw beyond the coma and came back. SantAAgostino feel the return of those who died and are reborn more rotten and foul than before. Operazione Paura is a tribute to music and cosmos energy: the same energy that santAAgostino trio was permeated with during the opus and the esecution of the pieces. Operazione Paura is a total turning not just for the band but for dark, ambient music and noise, generally speaking. That’s because santAAgostino is like a meteor crashed onto the Earth disarranging all the balances, rhythmes and cycles. After the crash the planet seems to be perished but, in the inner part, the new fire of life is burning. A brand new energy developed in a new way of living, of thinking and being. Operazione Paura speaks of the filmic and horrorific fear, mind trap “to kill” atavistic thoughts and all those mental factors that trapped the man into a selfmade cage in his own mind, through the mind itself. Operazione Paura is an awl that, slowly but inexorably, drives the listener to a dimension where there is no thought, no images, no more conceptualizing, nothing still exhists: there is just a huge solitary desert now, where sounds spontaneously flow creating new monster beyond space and time. It’s a place where new divine dynasties born, spreading their seed, in order to bear a brand new reign far from the borders that we can’t even imagine. [press-release]

Sinke Dus -- "Akrasia" -- CD -- €14
2007 Cyclic Law, 19th Cycle
Akrasia is an old question dealing with the weakness of the will. To behave "akratically" is when one acts against his better judgement, committing acts that are known to be wrong but yet still going through with the motion. Markus Lonebrink wanted to explore not so much the philosophical issues at hand, but rather the subjective experience of akrasia itself. To learn of the underlying motives of when one acts akratically. Certain events in the akratic process felt natural to him and it was those he tried to integrate into these soundscapes. There are no conclusions described in the music, but there might be a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel and perhaps the shadow of a hint of why we humans sometimes act as irrationally as we do. A shared quest to gain better knowledge of oneself through this self-revisionistic ambient journey filled with ethereally lush passages that give way to a truly visionary and immersive experience. The album also features a special collaboration with Par Bostrom of KAMMARHEIT. In fold out gatefold cardboard sleeve. [press-release]

Svartsinn -- "Elegies For The End" -- 2 CD -- €20
2009 Cyclic Law, 26th Cycle, (ltd. 1000)
The 4th album by Norwegian dark ambient act, Svartsinn, shows a more melodic yet rather obscure side of the artist. 2009 is the 10th year of Svartsinn's existence and it has inspired Pettersen to try a different approach and to experiment with some new ideas. This new musical journey deals with sadness and melancholy, about not knowing one's place in this vast and at times uninviting world, how it can become a daily torment to not be able to find one's reason to exist. And it's also about finding one's personal path, finding ways to endure and hopefully transcend these engulfing life challenges... The Double CD includes a unique collaboration track with Dahlia's Tear and a 10 years anniversary bonus disc containing exclusive remixes by Triarii, Kammarheit, Letum, Life Toward Twilight, Gustaf Hildebrand, Tenebrious, New Risen Throne, MGriffin, Visions and Hovmod. All acts giving very interesting perspectives on some of Svartsinn's previously released tracks, making this second disc a very special homage to the singular world of Svartsinn. Edition of 1000 copies in 8 panel foldout cardboard sleeve. [press-release]

Vargr -- "Wehrmacht Satanas [by lord Nordvargr]" -- CD -- €10
2007 Eternal Pride Productions, EPP 007
The name of Henrik Nordvargr Bjorkk has always been associated to the power of Swedish Black Industrial which has always been linked to MZ. 412 for many years. As a part of MZ. 412, Nordvargr first managed to combine black metal and post-industrial aesthetics. But VARGR is even a more diabolic, blasphemous and terrifying cocktail of the real Scandinavian black metal of the early 1990s and the noise post-industrial layers which create the atmosphere of real Evil, Death, Chaos and Destruction in their impious graciousness. An unholy communion summoned to create the soundtrack for all wars to come. Bow to the Northern Wolf! [press-release]

Vresnit -- "Tunvet" -- CD -- €10
2009 Vegvisir music, o:008, (ltd. 484)
Shamanic Drone Ambient. Vresnit presented its first CD-release contained ecstatic & exploring records made in the fall of 2008 and remastered in winter-spring 2009. Vresnit is the project of one man working for artistic embodiment of the creative rotation within the label Vetvei. He was formerly known as ruler of Kerpg label, Pugna, Vagranok, Nrodum and other projects, now ceased their activities. Deaf thickets and swamps, heaven ravines, lost voices, unseen birds. Eternal mosses, lichens, fog and ancient trees. The path lies deeply through the thickets and higher to the sun, meeting with ancient human-animals, keepers of the Book. Majestic and archaic canvas neither begins nor ends, woven by the Sledge of Three-Worlds-Animals. The Words of scratches, beats, rings and rustles - all goes into vibrating flow of crudely woven muscarinic Shamanic Drone Ambient atmosphere. Tunvet appears as primitive experience for co-breathing with Earth, diving into the twilight forest and flowing into its beyond. Slow and endless movement in a Circle that appears as Eternal Order. A Myth of the World-Man Creation, a dreamflight, a meeting with the Forest Spirits preying on the flesh and substituting it with metal and stones, giving life to the Ancient Co-knowledge... Created using field recordings, voices and woodwinds, metal gongs, percussion and "concrete" sounds. Gripping, saturating and transforming experience of raw wind, celestial chariots and chthonic naturalism. [press-release]
