The project Kshatriy appeared on the Russian post-industrial scene in 2004 and up to present has participated in several compilations, as well as released some solo and collaboration recordings on limited edition CDRs. Muzyka Voln presents the project’s first "professional" compact disk with the album "Slepok Sonzaniya" (meaning "a mould of consciousness" in Russian).

This work is based on the concept of consciousness of a warrior, a galactic warrior of light, bringing to world pure knowledge, infinite silence, perfect balance, a moment of power and might, a flight of freedom, love, serenity, joy, light, unified time, eternal life, simplicity and bliss.

The music of the project can be described as fractal dark drone ambient with lots of patterns, woven from various sonic fibres: synthesized drones, processed field recordings, acoustic echoes and rhythmic loops. Calm and profound, filled with resilience and hidden power, like an endless ocean of tranquility, energy and beauty.

Bionulor -- "s/t" -- CD-R -- €8
2009 etaLABEL, eta-cd 017, (ltd. 121)
"How recycling of old musical recordings from tapes, vinyl and old musical waste can lead to an intriguing album." The art of recycling adapted to music that is exactly what the musical project Bionulor does. With loops from classical music the Polish musician recreates his own pieces. Most pieces on the self-titled debut album are based on minimal samples of just one or a few notes. Most samples seem to originate from piano songs, but there are also some stringed instruments appearing. In a way not uncommon to William Basinski we hear the loops fade in and out slowly changing their character during the progression. Though, the technique used here is not so much based on degradation and/or disintegration of sound. No, instead Bionulor uses a digital processing technique. In the pieces we hear soft filters and pitching to alter the sound. In several pieces the same source sounds are used but rendered with different effects delivering diverse results. Sometimes it sounds a little bit too easy, but as a whole there is enough variation on the album to keep you listening. As a debut album this self-titled album is a really good start, with a promise to a bright future for this musician. [Sietse van Erve, Earlabs]

Bjerga / Iversen -- "In Broken Dreams the World Still Keeps Turning" -- CD-R -- €8
Dead Sea Liner, dead sea liner 05
Another example of comatose/necrose dark industrial. Radionoise, rotten creaks, waste melodies, dusty voices. Transmission from th Underworld. [Abgurd description]

Bjerga & Iversen -- "Sharks Control These Waters" -- CD-R -- €8
2009 Still*Sleep, CDR13
This Norwegian duo is quite prolofic in solo and collaboration work, and usually keeps away from self repetitions and graphomania, which is great. The new album "Sharks Control These Waters" is probably the best material recorded by this day: one 48-min long track slowly and accurately evolves with demersal bleeps, nice interferences, background drones and knockings into submarines' platings. Just less than an hour long immersion under water... [Abgurd description]

Donzel-Gargand, Bernard -- "Still to be a Storyteller" -- CD -- €10
2009 Monochrome Vision, mv29, (ltd. 500)
The 20 years anthology of creative work from the french composer, consisting of only previously unreleased material. Fantastic soundscapes, drawing images without any visual similarities and presenting the best ever sense of acousmatic music... Bernard Donzel-Gargand is the unique musician and composer. He is a celebrity in Annecy but unfortunately less known abroad, especially because he published just one CD of fabulous works on Plate Lunch in 2001. Before discovering electroacoustic music in 1978, he participated in the free jazz movement and improvised music. Since that time, he is the author of acousmatic music, works for animation, dance and interactive contemporary art. In 1981, he founded the Collectif & Cie studio, together with Philippe Blanchard, Alain Basso, Philippe Moenne-Loccoz, and Peter Ernrooth, amongst others. Later on, with Philippe Blanchard he founded Studio Forum and the yearly festival "Le Bruit de la Neige". Bernard was born in 1955 and composing the music since 70s, he knew personally Pierre Schaeffer and received some prizes at GMEB concours in Bourges. He influenced Blanchard a lot, and his music was perfect example for many other young musicians in Annecy. But his musical career was not so active, because Bernard prefers to work alone in his studio rather than promote his music for publicity. But his works can be compared with the best electroacoustic music coming from France, and his name should be mentioned with celebrities like Michel Chion, Xavier Garcia, Bernard Parmegiani, Luc Ferrari and Francois Bayle. His pieces are breathtaking and transcending the sense of time. [press-release]

Thethe - is weird blurry post-punk meeting with indie-pop and indie-rock + tuba, female vocals and wonderful lyrics. [press-release]

Human Larvae -- "Home Is Where The Hurt Is" -- CD -- €10
2008 Existence Establishment, EE08, (ltd. 500)
Introducing the debut full-length of this new Dresden based heavy industrial/power electronics unit following his 3 inch CDR on Silken Tofu. Taking cues from styles as diverse as the cinematic Navicon Torture Technologies and grungy lo-fi ...Today I'm Dead, Human Larvae delivers an emotional torrent of self-destructive force with "Home is Where the Hurt Is". Spanning a running time of over an hour, styles range from rhythmic orchestral industrial to bleak passages of black noise with a good dosage of throbbing feedback and scathing vocals. There is some sick twisted narrative to be found here but the search for these mysterious happenings will bring you to places you may never return from. [press-release]

Hypnoz -- "Autumn Sun" -- CD-R -- €8
2009 Absurd Vibration, 001, (ltd. 50)
After releazing his CD "Breath of Earth", Dmitry Zubov aka Hypnoz presents one more gift - the new album "Autumn Sun", consisting of tracks recorded from 2001 to 2008. This instrumental ambient tapestry complements his previous work in character and contents... Following it's simple title, "Autumn Sun" presents a collection of musical drawings which came into being through the moments of calm philosophic contemplation of nature and the outside world. Restrained and minimal pieces depicture images all-sufficient in their inner completeness. A light sleep of a soldier combining howl of the wind and restless ticking of passing time. A deserted hill among the equable silence of autumn fields. Last warm sunbeam fallen on cheek-bones of November, whited from cold. A sleepless night before Easter calling from the sky abyss with deafly heard call of angelic flutes. Morning dew showering under the feet with myriads of sparkling precious beads... Sparing guitar loops and drones, scrappy noises and sound effects extracted from analogue sound devices and synths - this is the toolkit used on "Autumn Sun". Monotonous soundscapes of "Last Night Before Easter" and "Deserted Hill" with droning guitar background turn into meditative ringing of "Embossomed With Trees" filling up all the space. Laconic watercolor sketches "Shining From Beyond" and "Sunbeam In November" make room for even more sleepy eerie rustle of "Flicker" and "Morning Dew"... This album invites for poetic dreaminess and other tranquil pleasures. The artwork features author's photographies. [Radiodrone]

Interior Disposition & Sister Loolomie -- "s/t" -- CD-R -- €8
2009 Still*Sleep, CDR12
A collaboration between two Russian projects. The united sonic field of these 4 tracks harmonically meld together the characteristic features of both projects: hallucinogenic digital rasps and bright melancholic guitar tunes from Sister Loolomie and universal scale atmospheres of Interior Disposition. As a result we have beautiful and deep space ambient / drone.

Isomer -- "Face Toward The Sun" -- CD -- €14

Kahn, Jason & Francis, Richard -- "s/t" -- CD -- €10
2009 Monochrome Vision, mv28, (ltd. 500)
The new album from two masters of electroacoustic improvisation, who are living thousands miles away from each other, but found some common aesthetic views and originality of artistic expression. This materials were recorded live during their collaborative performances in various locations, consisting of four long tracks, presenting the unique interaction between technology and intuition... Jason Kahn's work includes sound installation, performance and composition. He was born in New York in 1960, grew up in Los Angeles and relocated to Europe in 1990. He currently lives in Zürich. He has given concerts and exhibited sound installations throughout Europe, North and South America, Japan, Mexico, Korea, Israel, Turkey, Russia, Lebanon, Egypt, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Australia. Kahn performs both solo and in collaborations, using percussion, analog synthesizer or computer in different combinations. He composes for electronics, acoustic instruments and environmental recordings. For larger groups of directed improvisation he has devised a system of graphical scores. Kahn creates his sound installations for specific spaces. The focus of these primarily non-visual works lies in the perception of space through sound... Richard Francis has been releasing works on CD/vinyl, performing solo and in collaboration as a touring artist since 1996. He uses field recordings of natural and electronic sounds and a signal generator to compose layered sound works of textural and tonal detail. He has released solo and collaborative works on a number of labels worldwide and runs his own label CMR through which he currently releases limited edition lathe cut records by New Zealand artists. In performance he uses a computer and electronics and has toured Japan, Australia, Hong Kong, Canada, USA and Europe. Since 2003, Francis has composed works for sound installation, participating in group and solo shows at galleries throughout New Zealand. [press-release]

Nurminen, Jari-Matti -- "In Sickness and in Health" -- CD-R -- €8
2005 Vety Productions, vety07
On his ambient solo recording ex-bass player of sludge stars - Fleshpress - explores sickness and health. 2009 Afe Records, afe114lcd, (ltd. 100)

They made their live debut at the Afe-Party in November 2005, recently they also opened for Eugene Chadbourne and Wolf Eyes during their italian tours. There is a strong dramatic feeling in their powerful sound, where everything seems to reproduce a sort of wedding between the modernity of the media and the primordial instincts of the performers. Following their self-released "Baptism & Birthday", "Triadic Memories" was released on Afe in April 2006. An Ur CD entitled "Trieb" was released in 2008 on Topheth Prophet in Israel... Craig Hilton was born in 1972, he has been playing the guitar since he was 10. His first experimentations in sound began as a teenager with a guitar and a 4 track tape recorder. His first release was a collaboration with Yannick Franck (Belgium) entitled "Amatra". A second collaboration happened with Maurizio Bianchi (Italy) entitled "PU94" which is being re-released in late 2008. A solo CD "The Smoking Mirror", released early 2008, incorporated much of what he wanted to achieve after the long and intensive collaborations with Yannick and MB. [label info]

Xiphoid Dementia -- "Might Is Blight" -- CD -- €10
2009 Existence Establishment, EE10, (ltd. 500)
Xiphoid Dementia is Egan Budd's noise project based in Boston, Massachusetts. Mr. Budd has been active in the noise underground since about 2002 and creates a powerful sort of ambient-noise music. His latest release is a numbered, limited edition CD titled "Might Is Blight" and therein begins a bleak journey through the possible end times of life as we know it, the ruination of Earth, and the death of illusion. This noise artist has in his artistic grasp the means of creating sound structures that are metaphors for such ideas even though to find those places requires certain lengths to be gone to... What Budd has accomplished here is impressive, not too many noise artists are attempting something so ambitious, a hybrid style of composing that incorporates modern classical avant garde, droning electronic noise and atmospheric ambience to create a strong, cinematic music... From the orchestral title track opener to the lilting, tossing, aptly titled 'Your City Crumbles' to the profoundly disturbing final composition, 'None Shall Inherit The Earth', every one of these soundscapes moves in fascinating ways, morphing from powerful Penderecki-style string sections that teeter on the brink of collapse, then break down giving way to noisier electronics, heavy (metallic) droning, or screeching, anguished vocals, each sound texture seemingly always moving in a constant state of flux... Blood Axis -- "Blot: Sacrifice in Sweden" -- CD -- €14
Cold Meat Industry, CMI X
In November 1997, Blood Axis was invited to fly to Sweden and present a special live performance for the Cold Meat Industry 10th Anniversary Feast. The show was recorded on digital multi-track directly from the mixing board, and the resulting tapes were brought back to USA and re-mixed and re-processed by Blood Axis temselves for an exceptional result: a crystalline and intense summoning of everything from haunting heathen mantras to electronic aggression, traditional European melodies to crushing bombastic anthems. Brighter Death Now -- "Disobey" -- DualDisc (CD + DVD) -- €20
2005 Cold Meat Industry, cmi139
"Disobey" may just be the ultimate release of Brighter Death Now, 2 live-shows presented as a DualDisc, both recorded in Rostock 1997 (CD) and 2003 (DVD) respectively. Brighter Death Now leaves no-one untouched with brutal and destructive industrial sounds, dealing with sinister topics such as death, childabuse and confusing love as a trademark. BDN has the past few years also become one of the more chaotic, charismatic and unpredictable live-acts in the industrial scene. With a charming sense of black humour BDN changes shape from a little rascal to a moral-majority hag dressed up for sunday commandment... something which actually happened during the show in Rostock 2003. Featuring for this special occasion; Roger Karmanik and Lina B Doll (Deutsch Nepal), two beautiful iron ladies ready to manhandle you! [label info]

Candyman And Evil Flowers -- "s/t" -- CD-R -- €8
2008 Still*Sleep, CDR07
One more project of Russian musician [S] known for Exit In Grey, Five Elements Music, Sister Loolomie, etc... Under this name he explores more dense sounding side of drone ambient music, sometimes even bordering with noise, but still driven by emotions. The closest analogues are Maeror Tri and Troum albums. The lovers of these projects should really draw their attantion to this release - you won't be disappointed. The recording was done with the help of guitar, accordion, flute, voice and percussion.

Cataclyst -- "Monuments of a Rubicund Age" -- CD -- €12
2007 Tantric Harmonies, TANTRA X31 / Zhelezobeton, ZHB-X, (ltd. 600)
A strange project that for a moment united Peter Andersson (raison d'etre) and Johanna Rosenqvist (ex-Institut, Koeff) in the distant 1992. Cataclyst's music combines the melancholic beauty of early raison d'etre and Necrophorus, harsh industrial rhythms of Institut and tribal-elements of another undeservingly forgotten project of Peter - Svasti-Ayanam... What differs this product from other works of Swedish industrial scene masters is the atmosphere of remote fairy worlds in which you smoothly sink into while listening to "Monuments of a Rubicund Age". Peter and Johanna have woven an infinite labyrinth of mirages, walking through which will be a pleasant surprise for both the fans of ambient / experimental / industrial and more conservative gothic lovers. The first edition of the album was published by Peter's own label Yantra Atmospheres in 1999 and was limited to 100 copies. This reissue has been made by joint efforts of the labels Tantric Harmonies and Zhelezobeton, it contains a shorter version of the album's last piece + bonus-track. Original photographs are made by Pavel Bourchenko. [press-release]

Circular -- "Shaping the Unknown" -- CD -- €14
2006 Loki Foundation, loki 44
The debut album of Circular defines an opulent style of meditative ambient music and celebrates the pure sound engines of perfect analogue synthesizer music. Johannes Riedel created an elegant and stylish form of drone music to build ellipses in-between sculptures blowing through the triangular center. This aural paintings discover sacred landscapes of drifting loops, analogue synthesizers and the brilliant use of guitars to set up an unearthly visionary wall of sound. The method of Circular's music dispose a special principle where tracks build up slowly and take the period of concentration, of taking shape, followed by overwhelming massive soundworlds from outer states. Sounds are swirling around the cuboid and adhere at the cognition through unique scapes of the swelling and digressing resonance. [press release]

Coph Nia -- "The Dark Illuminati" -- CD -- €14
2007 Cold Meat Industry, cmi163
The Thelemic Warlord is back; and after years of silence and solitude Aldenon once again presents us with a true masterpiece - "The Dark Illuminati - A Celestial Tragedy in two acts". This is an epic saga of eight illuminating pieces trying to penetrate the core of the Darkest Light. Aldenon's characteristic growling coupled with Linus's bombastic drums and Karin's serene voice come together in a tapestry of ritualistic, penetrating and sinister ambiance. Included are three timeless classics in new and improved formats... Choirs, strings and intricate orchestrations bring about an unforgettable tale that won't leave any listener untouched; possibly giving rise to more questions, than it poses answers. So what is it? The Dark Illuminati - The Dark Enlightened.... A global elite attempting to enforce a world government? An organization controlling world affairs? The New World Order? Or a Secret Few, merely seeking to preserve the Dark Light....? Well... The Stage is set. The Music begins to play. But the Script has been lost. [press-release]

Exit In Grey -- "Magnetoline - Night Medidation" -- CD-R -- €8
2006 Daphnia Records, PH04
The new album of one of the best Russian drone projects is made out of sounds of processed guitar, field recordings and prepare singing bowls. Slowly rolling hollow and distant rumbles swallowing up the attention like a huge swirl, slowly evolving melodies and flowing by frequency fibers like clouds. During listeting the brain tunes itself down to lower frequency waves and smoothes down emotional state.

Exit In Grey -- "Sub Pluvia" -- CD-R -- €8
2007 Daphnia Records, ph07
"This work is dedicated to all those forlorn during the rain." Emotional guitar drone ambient with uneasy and sorrowful atmosphere. Each track features sounds of rain, thunder or flowing drops. This is the most rough album of the project because of wide use of distorted guitar.

Filivs Macrocosmi -- "Stalker" -- CD -- €9
2006 OMS Records, OMSCD02, (ltd. 500)
Inspired by and a tribute to A. Tarkovsky's movie "Stalker" (1979). Stalker is an elaborate puzzle. Its pieces are always scattered, and the listener is relied upon to bring the final element of the puzzle along with him. Stalker invites you to get carried away into your own thoughts, flowing with the images as it provides new questions to ponder. In that sense, the album is very much like a philosophical poem: a very simple surface covering innumerable layers of meaning. One long ride in a cart, with clunking metal and water-whooshing sounds. Altogether fascinating and hypnotic. "Welcome to your Self, an alien place guarded by barbed wire". [label info]

:Golgatha: -- "Tales of Transgression and Sacrifice" -- CD -- €14
2007 Cold Meat Industry, cmi176
The French philosopher Georges Bataille serves as the inspiration for the new and third fulltime album of the German ritual-folk-band :Golgatha:. Founded in 2004 by Christoph Donarski and S. Marleni, :Golgatha: began in the dark realms of ambient-drones and continually developed their use of acoustic instruments to create a unique mixture organic and electronic elements. After two acclaimed albums on the subject of heroism, ‘Tales of Transgression & Sacrifice’ marks a certain change of course in the music of :Golgatha: – in a psychonautic trip from ritual-drumming via multi-textured soundscapes up to catchy folk-songs this album appears even more sensual, erotic and fascinating than before. Grassow, Mathias / Weiss, Thomas -- "Conscience" -- CD -- €11
2006 Nextera, ERA 2041-2
An authority between the human made ego and his creator. The conscience is a regulator and gives always precisely feedback about our emotional actions. Everyone has the free will to accept this. Many people have forgotten to follow their inner voice. Instead their decisions are depended on status symbols and social standards. This music don't want to entertain you, but give you a view inside your "self". As soon as we have spirit, mind and body together we are practising the truth. [label info]

Institut -- "Live Like Traitors, Die Like Traitors" -- CD -- €14
2003 Cold Meat Industry, cmi106
Allow yourself to remember the sixties for a moment, a world full of ideals, protesters and national secrecy. Steaming masses, no repents, frightful threats. Influenced by political regulation, dramatic borderlines and acute strife, Institut claim their view of disorder with nine throbbing new radical outbursts. The sound presented here has a narrower approach than before, tending to even more monotony, though no compromises has been made in intensity levels. Full of splendid hate for one and all. Feel the presence and keep your head held high. So, no more dancing folks, this is serious business. Chew stone, fuel for fistfights, instead of your daily falafel. Explore new ground. There's a lot to change. [press-release]

Institut -- "The Struggle Never Ended" -- CD -- €14
2005 Cold Meat Industry, cmi143, (ltd. 1000)
Lirim Cajani's project Institut should be well established now, having played a lot around Europe over the years. This newly recorded effort, the first CD without earlier member Johanna Rosenqvist, is a solid tribute to the struggle of the little man. A strong delivery of faith to the oppressed and a raging ripper for your right to only remain. The sound is more up-front live-centered, almost totally devoid of rhythms throughout and with a lot of anguished and hateful vocals. Full of drenching static and simple but effective walls of noise and reverberating samples which surely works sufficiently incisive. Kill your inconveniences! [press-release]

Interior Disposition -- "Melancholy Crescent" -- CD-R -- €8
2007 Still*Sleep, CDR04
Moscow-based project previously known as just ID which self-released nice album "Galaxys" sounded like local Bad Sector, has now widened the meaning of it's name and made a new release in a guest-series of Still*Sleep label. Space dreamy ambient with sometimes hostile and uneasy atmosphere. [Abgurd description]

Kirlian Camera -- "Invisible Front. 2005" -- CD -- €13
2005/2007 [Trisol], TRI 306 CD
Re-Release of the studio album of the year 2005. A tragic odyssey of 11 incredible songs permeated by a sense of loss, as beautiful KIRLIAN CAMERA have never produced before; despite some highly appreciated masterpieces of their past. It looks as though the band's latest hard period had condensed in a desperate lust and need to communicate, which has never been so luminous and aimed at its own unique vision. The enormous relief given to both Elena's stunning voice and talent in composing has been rewarded by an incomparable result, made even more intense by Angelo's anticipated "return to the male vocal parts. A record filled with a dreadfully incorporeal atmosphere, a somewhat statuesque, incomprehensible alienation, or estrangement, settle very closely to the borders of places impossible to describe ... - places that Elena, Angelo and their various collaborators (amongst them Jarboe from THE SWANS and Lloyd James from NAEVUS) seem to know very well. Ghostly and seemngly "magic" signals are appearing everywhere in a transfigured and nearly frozen scenery, almost as if Ridley Scott's "ALIEN" got wrapped in an additional cloak of sensation, dread, but also of a tragic beauty, indeed. These signals or echoes are coming from an unknown zone in which a spacecraft haunted by hallucinating spectres seems to be silently travelling on forever. KIRLIAN CAMERA have chosen a voluntary distance towards the typically conceited trends of the music-scene, an attitude that gave birth to a breath-taking new album, that will leave the inclined listeners speechless with admiration. Combinin "future avant-garde" with classical pop-arrangements, this amazing album will blast the confines of the genre of mere electronic music, sending a shiver own everybody's spine. The distilled power of all the hit-singles KIRLIAN CAMERA have ever created in their long career has been magnified on this album !!!=Is something like this really possible after so many falsely acclaimed - as fa= too often "empty" - electronic releases all around?!? It really looks so, at last... [label info]

2007 Nextera, ERA 2045-2
"Arpe di Sabbia" (Harps of Sand) is a new double live album recorded in Archiaro, a remote location immersed in the woods of southern Italy, and it features exclusive music composed for this special event. The two discs contain more than 130 minutes of slowly-changing textures and abyssal drones that try to describe the hidden voices of Nature: the endless movements of the ocean waves, the rustle of the crescent moon, the sunset's undercurrents, the life of nocturnal animals, the silent flow of the stars. A magical connection with a world of forgotten sounds. [press-release]

Pimentola -- "Misanthropolis" -- CD -- €14
2007 Cold Meat Industry, cmi167
After 10 years and a good selection of releases, such as the highly praised album "MM-MMV" on Twilight Records; we are most proud to present the new album: MISANTROPOLIS. Presented in a luxurious silver foilprinted 6-panel digipak and features guest appearances by members of the well-renowned folk music group Garmarna, the neo-classical project Dead Man's Hill, a fantastic and bizarre cabaret/musical style vocal performance by Aprox, and a remix by Somnivore. Misantropolis introduces more vocals than on past Pimentola releases; hysteric screams, gloomy choirs/harmonies; hand in hand with electronic sounds, samplings and acoustic instruments; accordion, violins, theremin, metal percussions and various kinds of drums. Ten ill star prayers from the Black Globe; an end of times sound-work ranging from martial neoclassical to drum n' bRass and tripjazz. Sanctum -- "Let's Eat" -- CD -- €14
2004 Cold Meat Industry, cmi132
Like Sanctums previous work it's still about contrasts, but with stripped down sounds, less bombastic, rougher and more powerful. Still a pleasurable experience, for sure not easy to digest - more hard reality instead of baroque feasts. [label info]

Sophia -- "Herbstwerk" -- CD -- €14
2001 Cold Meat Industry, CMI.96
From 2001 comes this long out-of-stock milestone, finally available again, this time in a jewelcase, and without the 3" bonus CDS which was included in the first edition. But no tears, be happy to have it available again! Comparisons for this ARCANA side-project with DER BLUTHARSCH and even IN SLAUGHTER NATIVES are legitimate, as Sophia paint a similar sort of epic frescos. These are the solemn and sonorous melodies belted out by the pipers and drummers while the army retract from a hard day's work at the battlefield, saving the kingdom from legions of infidels… [label info]

Stormfågel -- "Den Nalkande Stormen" -- CD -- €14
2005 Cold Meat Industry, cmi149
Deep in the forests of Sweden we found a lumberjack (but he's ok...) and a transylvanian songbird... - together they are Stormfågel. The act itself may be new but the main character in the band, mr lumberjack himself, Andreas Neidhardt has been lurking around for a good 10-15 years in various lesser successfull constallations. This time he manage to surpass himself and created something charming and different. A mixture between folk, martial and neoclassical music! - Strange? and what about adding a very unique and personal female voice in Hungarian to this?! Not heavenly, but hellish and folkish.... Their sound whispers of atmospheres from the past. Romantic, melancholic and decadent, at time even with a bombastic touch. If necessary, they may be compareable with very early Blood Axis and Moon Lay Hidden. [press-release]

Stormfegel -- "Ett Berg av Fasa" -- CD -- €14
2007 Cold Meat Industry, cmi171
We can honestly say that Stormfеgel have produced a stunning follower to their charming debut album from 2005, "Den Nalkande Stormen" (cmi149); quoted as "one of the most powerful neofolk debuts of 2005" (Heathen Harvest). Stormfеgel, Swedish born Andreas Neidhardt and Hungarian vocalist Eva Mag, are back to bless us with a surprisingly phenomenal new work! The music of Stormfagel combines ethnic sounding neofolk compositions sung in Hungarian by Eva, with martial tinged orchestral selections sung by Andreas and Eva together, and their new album, "Ett Berg Av Fasa", impregnates with a beautiful blend of their very special mixture of Swedish / Hungarian martial neofolk orchestrations. The strong and confident voice of Eva Mag sings across the music, in Swedish and in Hungarian as traditional chants, which works extraordinary well with the dark romantic orchestral strings and ritualistic martial drummings, the violins, the bells, keyfiddle and woodwinds. Marching forward over fields, through ancient woods; Stormfеgel has made its nest and is here to stay. The album is mastered by Jouni Havukainen (In Slaughter Natives) and again presented in a nice digipak. [label info]

Troum -- "Eald-Ge-Streon / Abhijna" -- 2 CD -- €21
2009 Beta-lactam Ring Records, mt181/183, (ltd. 500)
CD plus the bonus album "Abhijna" issued in an edition of 500 copies in a full color deluxe gatefold book bound cd case. Design, layout and artwork by Stephen O'Malley. Welcome to the Thunderdome. Troum’s bone-cracking reverberations respirate with such ferocity that all non-Troum molecules are blown away. Eald-Ge-Streon is a massive, rising beauty. It is a great becoming, and we are nothing but an ant in the afterbirth. Troum has set its controls beyond the heart of the Sunn. The pulsating inferno of these 7 drone concertos may require an insurance adjuster, but what a lovely way to burn. It is in your nature to do one thing correctly. Before Troum, you rightly tremble. But fear is not what you owe Troum. You owe Troum awe! [press-release]

Kraken is a mythological creature depicted on anscient engravings as a giant octopus sinking ships.
