Aere Aeternus -- "Humanity Needs No Funeral" -- CD -- €10
2008 Kaosthetik Konspiration, KSTK 006
The dominant atmosphere combines a sense of impending insanity with sexual deviancy and a large dollop of occultism, creating a dark and troubling misanthropic sojourn that is relatively unique. The final track is probably the most musical, as it is centred on a guitar arpeggio, but no such concessions to convention are present elsewhere on this deeply troubling disk. The accompanying video of "Invocation" shows a Satanic ritual in all its kitchsy glory. Recommended for those looking for something a darker than the usual entities. [Chronicles Of Chaos]

Applecore -- "Destruction of the Witches" -- CD-R -- €6
Ambulacranarx Records
This release of ever surprising Applecore is produced in the style of romantic noise, that means that romantic people would most probably not be able to listen to the album because of lots of noise, chaotic and entropy-rising conserved acoustic events. Tough noise-lovers will find the album too much melodic and loveful, but don't forget about the title which completely reflects the contents. Applecore acts like an experieneced magician, unsealing consciousness with our emotional crises occuring while listening to the disc, leaving the true and somehow witchy feeling of presence equal to ultramundane. We can mention his split with Hladnokrovie616 and "Funny Trip" album, just to compare these releases with the descibed one... After "Destruction of the Witches" you definitely feel some kind of "aftertaste" which can last for a long time after a single spin leaving you in perplexity "how this can be possible"? "Possible is possible". "Possible is impossible" - this is Brujo-destruction. [press-release]

Azbest -- "Dreiplatztango" -- CD-R -- €4
2008 Ambulacranarx Records, amblcrnrx - 07, (ltd. 20)
This piece of inner freedom incarnated in digital format is best heard in order, from the beginning till end, and then the shifts of whispers and shouts, walls of white noise and subdued claps, child's laugh, a confession of an old gay and young swan's yearning for blue sky will come together like a puzzle, in a single image, in a protocol of a psychotherapy group seance which tries to keep the remainings of mind in a splitting madness of a megalopolis. CD-extra (10 audio tracks + images). [press-release]
Babayoga -- "Zelye" -- CD-R -- €7
2009 self-released
A new side project of Hladna vivdly shows the change of musical view of the author after his move from St. Petersburg to deeply remote village Yarogora. The first track is almost 40-min. long field, or more precisely forest recording with minimal instrumental presence. Sunny tranquillity, singing birds, light rustles and rattles with just a few moments interrupted by deeply reverberated noisy overloads. Despite the soothing quality, it's still possible to feel some brutality, primitivity of sound, so peculiar to Hladna, and in the end of the track it shows up in a short intense fragment made from author's one year old daughter voice. On the 2nd track the recording of dripping serves as a background, against which unfold cold electronic noisy soundscapes. The CDR is packed in a paper envelope with dried herbs.

Television (greek 'tele' - far, afar) is vision of remote things, or also foresight. Far-sighted. But. Far-sighted are those who control television. Those who watch TV are not called far-sighted, they can be called narrow-minded. Tselevisor is a device that helps to see the goal ('tsel' in russian), so that later one could experience it using his will and intention. If you are not watching this device, you won't see your tsel-goal, because your will is devoured by Far-sighted television-people (let their name shine). Contagious Orgasm + Zyrtax -- "DNA Loops" -- CD -- €12
2005 SSSM, SSSM-107
The speed, the multiple, the scatter of the flow of time, and the curtain of the space are made in the layer, and the sound of them who wraps the listener. This mail collaboration project really has a magic touch when it comes to confusing the issue. From experimental electronic music to industrial monoliths to noisy electrolounge, those materials are resolved, and proliferate. The sound world that they make has been condensed to strength. They have been able, with the passing years, to amalgamate many styles and intrigue the listener, by proposing sonic mix sample based sound sculptures, with a constantly renewed freshness. [SSSM]... Contagious Orgasm and Zyrtax collaborated by mail, the results are the 14 tracks that form this album. Surreal sound collages with lots of variation from gentle atmospherics to more harsh passages and over to loop psychedelia, and soundwise from pure acoustics to heavily processed digital sounds. Comes in a very nice-looking cardboard gatefold sleeve designed by Yasutoshi Yoshida. [Government Alpha]

D.B.P.I.T. / XxeNa -- "Alien Symbiosis" -- CD-R -- €7
2008 Deserted Factory, DF050, (ltd. 100)
Alien Symbiosis origins from the artistic encounter of an ever-changing DBPIT, who has recently turned to a more "noise" attitude, and Xxena: painter, videomaker and graphic designer who challenged herself with sound for the first time. It marks both a turning point in each artist's personal existence and the dawning of a new creative era...and it's a celebration of a new alienunion! It was composed over a rather long stretch of time, during DBPIT's exile, due to personal reasons... Unable to use his usual equipment, the author made do with an old laptop XXENA had at home; a lot of sounds from the little, new environment have been recorded: pans, beads in a jar, wind-up toys, toilet flush, electric razor, hair dryer, typing on pc's keyboard, clicking on the mouse, as well as voices (the artists' own, their relatives', their yoga teacher's...) then as it usually happens, such sounds have been rearranged and turned into alienmusic. This work is dedicated to the memory of "H". [press-release]

Anil ED uses Distorted guitars, skillfully embedded lush skin of strings, gloomy slow frequencies and twisted layer of vocal layers to combine different moods to entire conception of tiresome longing and adding a huge depth to the sound. "Under Seven Skies" album is bringing an atmosphere between harsh and haunting feeling. [press-release]
Dead Man's Hill -- "Lakes Of Sacrifice" -- CD -- €10
2006 Bugs Crawling Out Of People, bcp002, (ltd. 500)
Dead Man's Hill has been brewing and gaining strength in the dark underground of the Belgium Death Industrial scene since 1998. Having released four limited edition full length cdr albums and a split disc, the time has at last come for Dead Man's Hill to reveal his full potential. With Lakes of Sacrifice, his best cd release to date, Dead Man's Hill makes his sound widely available to a North America audience, striking out from Canadian label Bugs Crawling Out of People... Dead Man's Hill represents the pinnacle of the Death Industrial scene, offering a brilliant blend of militaristic drums, epic orchestrations, and dark sensibilities. Tired of computer constructed sounds? Bored of standard beats? Had enough of bands following simplistic formulas, conforming themselves to be clones of the newest trend? Dead Man's Hill defies these limitations, with a sound that is both classic and renewed; a sound that crosses, combines, and surpasses the subgenres, resulting in a tour de force of industrial, gothic, neo-classical and neo-folk. Lakes of Sacrifice is a powerful entity with a horror movie soundtrack feel; it is classic industrial in the old school way, yet will surprise and reveal something new to the listening audience... The disc features the incredibly powerful collaborative track "Sacrifice of Subscription" with spoken wordcore artist it-clings and a remix of "Legions of Coldness" by Nick Gorman of Fractured. Death In June -- "Kapo!" -- CD -- €16
1996/2008 Nerus, NERUS13
Des Esseintes -- "Les Diaboliques" -- CD -- €12
2005 Malignant Records, TUMOR CD23
If Magnus Sundstrom's more well known project The Protagonist is DrJekyll, then his side project, des Esseintes can certainly be seen as a MrHyde... a more sinister alter ego, bent on destructive behavior, representing a liberation of the dark side and a more primitive being, that once freed from the bonds of conscience, becomes harder and harder toc ontrol. And thus, we have des Esseintes. Based on a collection of short stories by Jean-Barbey d'Aurevilly, Les Diaboliques is the first full length album for des Esseintes, and it's truly a masterwork. The result is an existentialistic inferno of various musical trash and harsh rhythms, with clanging, mechanized percussion barely cushioned by a menacing ambience of cinematically styled electronics igniting the background. These are dark regions explored on the six tracks here, populated by stomping behemoths that threaten to crush with every step, and shards of visceral, dynamic textures that slice across the proverbial sonic landscape. And while Magnus' work has certainly garnered recognition, Les Diaboliques may just solidify him in the lexicon of the industrial public, or take him to a whole new level. Greatly appealing to not only fans of old school greats such as SPK and Test Dept, but to thosefans of CMI and even some Hands material. [press-release]
DN23rd / Strup -- "Spirali Nebitiya" -- CD-R -- €7
2009 self-released, (ltd. 23)

Three long tracks, combining static interference, ethereal howls and scraps of voices with analogue and digital noise, electronic signals and recordings of unknown origin. All this sound mass oscillates back and forth from one-two layers to dense collage, and during one hour totally erases the idea of normal music from listener's mind. Double sleeve, handmade package.

Es -- "Kesamaan Lapset" -- CD -- €13
2009 Fonal Records, FR-64
"This is my fifth solo release as Es. Kesa"maan lapset was recorded during a three year period. It is a mix of soundscapes and pop tunes. You can hear influences varying from contemporary indie to ancient classical music. It’s a summer album and a childhood photo album. The name translates as “The Children Of The Summerland”. It an homage to the Pekka Streng album “Kesa"maa” (Summerland) which is one of my favourite Finnish albums ever made. It also refers to Finland of course. I’ve been travelling a lot these past three years and every time I return here it feels more and more like home... I’ve used lots of instruments, from high-end analogue synthesizers and upright pianos to cheap flea market Casios. I’ve recorded parts of this abroad and at home in my studio and in my bedroom. There are a few special guests: Laura Laurila plays violin, Tuomas Eriksson (Risto) plays trombone and Elissa Ma"a"tta"nen who has sung on most of my albums is present again to give her special voice to the tracks... I hope you enjoy the album. It is not as ambitious a work as my previous double album Sateenkaarisuudelma. But this one is meant to be listened to in many more situations and it might just fit as music for a house party too…" [Sami Sänpäkkilä / Es]

First Law -- "Terrorforming" -- CD -- €14
2008 Loki Foundation, LOKI 49
Flatline Skyline -- "All Sound / No Vision" -- CD -- €10
2009 Mechanoise Labs, mn 034, (ltd. 500)
The second album from Jacen Kemp and Robert Andrew Scott stands as a stylistic counter-statement to 2005's "Horizon Grid." Fierce, emotionally driven and abrasively textured, "All Sound / No Vision" confirms Flatline Skyline's masterful sense of tension and release and melodic sensibility while further evolving their sound beyond any previous expectation... Where "Horizon Grid" forged atmospheres of lethargic bliss and nocturnal stillness, these eleven new tracks are united by their restlessness and unstable nature. From the energetic vocals and metallic shard-like pulse of "Fox Fight" to the improvised noisy electronic shudders of "One Secret," there is a new-found sense of visceral life that breathes, screams and seeps into every moment of this album. Jacen Kemp's voice plays a prominent role in this aspect; its multi-faceted intonations are perfectly suited to the shifting electronic foundation. [press-release]

Kapotte Muziek -- "The Malevolent Ear" -- CD -- €12
1996/2005 Red Stream Inc, RSR-0110
Kiila -- "Tuota Tuota" -- CD -- €13
2009 Fonal Records, FR-65
Tuota tuota is the third full-length album by Kiila. Its songs were born of peaceful, focused work and intense rehearsals with friends, interspersed with sleep and mealtimes. The album features an eight-strong core line-up but, as always, the composition of the group varies effortlessly according to need. At this table, there is room for everyone... As musical form, songs have always been important to Kiila, and consequently Tuota tuota develops around its songs. On the other hand, the album consists of many details: the sound is full, the web of instruments more varied and carefully orchestrated than before. It is unnecessary to separate the electronic from the non-electronic components. Different traditions of folk and pop music intermingle with electronic music and improvisation, tones and sound itself. This way, the album also poses questions about songs and songwriting... The motifs in the songs are not easy to render in English, but one can at least attempt to translate some of them: master of the house, elk antlers, tree bark, sound of rapids, fog, letters, calves, fingers. The list, however, doesn’t make the songs easier to understand in a foreign language. The words sound archaic, anachronistic or timeless, the language of the myth. But can they be something else, too? And how transparent do we want the myth to be? At the risk of sounding dull, I suggest that the songs do speak to their age, our age, the nature of knowledge and work, the fluctuations of inspiration and threat. Unfortunately, it is mostly only the Finnish-speaking listeners who will be able to assess the validity of this idea... The name of the album, Tuota tuota, translates roughly as “well, well” and signifies a thinking pause, a moment of contemplation. The language alone is likely to give pause to an English-speaking listener, but I hope the idea will convey itself in more ways than just that. And a pause for thinking is, of course, never a waste of time. [Niko-Matti Ahti / Kiila]

2009 Vetvei, V04, (ltd. 108)
Final part of two-piece opus from L.A.D.O is out now on Vetvei! CD-R contains best fragments of artists night performance, as heard by guests of annual forest open-air festival Systo Togethering 2007. Album starts with sounds of body moving into forest - human breathes, moves and hears approaching drone and rustles. Lazy sun sets and inner space of sleep rise. L.A.D.O blindfolds the listener and leads him\her into the deep caverns and shallow waters. Listener follows the pulse of branches and joins procession of glowworms and fireflies to find his\her inner space. Speaking of style - second part of series is still a trademark psychedelic drone ambient canvas embroided with analog and digital soaring sounds, sometimes turning into undanceable experimental trance with radio signals and shamanic songs. Evgeniy Savenko uses loops, vinyl records, musique concrete and voice to create his well-known frost-tinged drones. In general the record done in Biosonar style ? structured, colorful, complex and more bright than many well-known and average releases on drone scene. The cover in gold and gray waxed paper cover with herbal Vetvei-style artwork and 3 photos from the shores of Cold Spring. Each copy has individual cardboard package with 3 inserts. [press-release]

Siberian project Nasekomuss continues to put obstacles in the way of total glamouring of minds, being inspired by working mechanisms of compressor equipment of the city heating plant crew outside the windows, that's how the 2007 album "Kompressor" was born. Navicon Torture Technologies -- "The Church Of Dead Girls" -- 2 CD -- €16
2002 Malignant Records, TUMOR CD18
The second full-length release on Malignant from Navicon Torture Technologies digs deeper into the doomed psyche of NTT founder Leech, in yet another cathartic step down the darkened evolutionary path that began with Scenes From the Next Millennium. Having coined the term "Power Romance", Leech now seeks to refine and solidify the idea into a true sound and vision of his own, once again combining the volatile, highly charged delerium of power electronics with the claustrophobically heavy atmospheres of dark ambient. The Church of Dead Girls is a darker and more disturbing journey than any previous NTT release, but is nevertheless rife with the brutal honesty which has begun to permeate every facet of the NTT mindset. A document of crushed emotional states and savage impulses, The Church of Dead Girls asks the listener to face their own worst thoughts and feelings, despite the pain and discomfort, ultimately leaving them with a permeable feeling of uncleanliness. This is the ultimate expression of Power Romance sensibilities, spanning more than two hours of sonic self-evisceration. Packaged in a unique hi-rise digipak. [press-release]
Navicon Torture Technologies -- "Scenes From The Next Millennium" -- CD -- €12
2001 Malignant Records, TUMOR CD15
After numerous underground tape releases and live actions, the much anticipated disc of this long standing member of the NYPE crew has arrived. Navicon presents an infinitely bleak and apocalyptic vision that transcends what's normally classified as power electronics. This is the sound of a post nuclear-war society, where war machines shudder and grind in endless cycles, and the black soot of dying factory production fills the poisonous air. Structured elements of loops and samples meld with caustic textures, erupting amidst bridled chaos and pulsating waves of white hot, saturated noise and distortion. An anguished, confrontational vocal presence makes itself known, exploding in a cathartic aggression brought on by suppressed demons and festering hate. [press-release]

First collaborative effort between german sound manipulation pioneer Asmus Tietchens and american improv-drummer Jon Mueller. The cd features 7 tracks that run up to 55 minutes. The sound ranges from rather raw and noisy drum experiments to subdued inversions of drum sounds. Like most previous Tietchens’ collaborations raw material has been sent to Hamburg to be transformed in the infamous Audiplex studios... After the greek-alphabet series of sine tones and white noise workings this rather unspoilt and raw sound work with Jon Mueller brings about a new direction in sound for Tietchens. Jon Mueller has been active for several years in the us improv scene playing in various ensembles and doing solo work. He runs the excellent web mag/label/mailorder croutonmusic.com. [press-release]
Tomutonttu -- "s/t" -- CD -- €13
2007/2009 Fonal Records, FR-66
Fonal Recods is re-releasing this long sold out debut Tomutonttu originally released on LP by Beta Lactam Ring records. Tomutonttu (“dust gnome”) is a human called Jan Anderze'n, a visual artist and the leader of a respected avant-garde sound group Kemialliset Ystävät. Toy reed streams, mutilated vocals and groovy loops of animal noise are some of the colours used to create the whirling mess that is the lonely song of Tomutonttu. It is like a confusing detail of the Kemialliset Ystävät freedom flow, a microcosmos of strange sound creatures and dirt flying around in the stereo space and interacting with a logic all of their own. YAO 91404 D -- "LenShumZavod" -- CD -- €11
2009 Freak Animal Records, fa-cd-047
The newest album of YAO 91404 D makes deeply psychedelic, almost religious effect. Rich analogue Old School Industrial, tons of heavy basses tumble down into listener's mind, gramophone records roar and howl in antediluvian defective player speakers, brutally warped 7-inches overstrain in primeval harsh-noise, distorted sounds of railroads sound like proclamations from the Underworld... A meditative canvas somewhere between Soldnergeist and Veprisuicida. [YAOP info]

From every standpoint a very respectable debut and we wait in suspense for the next episode. 7" EP, black vinyl, sturdy cardboard cover. [press release]

Blood Axis & Les Joyaux De La Princesse -- "Absinthe: La Folie Verte" -- CD -- €17
2002/2006 Athanor, ATNR017
Absinthe: La Folie Verte is a sonic and poetic invocation combining mind-altering music and powerful recitations of Absinthe-inspired poems of the fin-de-siecle. These elements unite with a brilliant graphic presentation to conjure an emerald realm of euphoric delirium. It is also one of the most obsessive recordings ever made: the various melodies that float across these soundscapes derive from forgotten Absinthe songs of the past; actual elements of the latter, derived from old cylinder recordings and 78s, have also been carefully stirred and distilled into new formulations by Les Joyaux de la Princesse. Furthermore, all aspects of this album (instrumentation, spoken recitations, and even the final mixing) were executed under the influence of the drink. The end result is an impressionistic tour-de-force and the ultimate aural hymn to la f?e verte, the Green Fairy. [press release]

2005 Cold Meat Industry, cmi151
BDN's steady mainman Roger Karmanik never goes out of style! A new punishing fullength CD packed with 8 churning traditional kneecapwrenching tracks, get down with it or bow in shame... Following the last album "1890" from 2001, this new work is more in the vein of 1998's "May all be dead": meaning slight punk mode ON. Diverse, hallucinatory, monotone and HEAVY with that sweet characteristic doom-laden and depressive touch. Simple and effective; just right for your pulsating private parts. [label info]

Clop Neplat -- "CD 1" -- CD -- €9
1997 Some Place Else, HAM 009 CD
CD1 features three long lasting, drifting, droning, obscure industrial cold ambience pieces. The noisy sounds are very experimental, as you could fairly imagine, but I like this more than other industrial-noise releases because it isn't senseless noise, but it is a kind of continuous vortical feeling moving you in a new dimension. [Chain D.L.K.]

Derniere Volonte -- "Obeir Et Mourir" -- 2 CD -- €30
Nuit Et Broulliard, NB.CD.06
Re-issue of the mythical double tape-boxset released by La Nouvelle Alliance in 1998 in a limited and numbered edition of 120 copies (L.N.A. 01). Only 90 were finally edited that time. All original material was entirely remastered and seven unreleased tracks from the same recording sessions were added for a tolal length of about 140 mns/28 tracks. Unlike to the recent releases of this French one-man project "Obéir et Mourir" includes neither any singing nor pop-influences. The sound here is a great blending of dark ambient soundscapes, militaristic percussion samples and tape-voices taken from World War II' documentaries. Powerful anthems march in front of melodic tracks and oppressive atmospheres reflecting perfectly the climate of the 30's and of the 40's made of fury, pain and tears… "Obéir et mourir" is nothing but an audio and visual illustration of these dark days... The two CDs come in cardboard cover with a 14 postcard-set, housed in a deluxe dark green boxset with embossed front-picture and bronze printings. [press-release]
Fjernlys -- "Ascending Triads And Luminous Arcs" -- 2 CD -- €16
2006 Loki Foundation, Loki 42
On their first album FJERNLYS emerges marvelous sounds and voices organically in songs and arrange a pleasant and relaxed sound to pure benefit with highest recognizing value. The songs layer cosmic and synthetic sounds and go on tracing according to the principle harmony in the music, their acoustic space seems very expansive, it is by no means over-crowded. The voices creep crosswise into sounds and effects to lunar spheres and solar places, exactly the correct nuance at refinement not only to remain in the ear but also simply very charming. Sometimes the central sequence takes surprising twists in some recordings and the density of sounds became touchable. Behind this project hides one of the INADE Masterminds, who recorded nine tracks supported from several musicians, those clearly possesses more songcharacter than the work which appeared from the Lightchannel so far. Fjernlys' attitude to music remains unfettered by stylistic frames and the album targets the style-encompassing essence of sounds. The five remixes and interpretations of ANTLERS MULM, BAD SECTOR, FIRST LAW and LOVESPELL on the second CD support the complex character of the whole release and expand the border to a new style of Ambient Songs. Ace - Clear - Pure. [press-release]

Inade -- "The Crackling Of The Anonymous" -- CD -- €14
Loki Foundation, LOKI29
After 5 years since the last studio album Aldebaran, we can finally announce the release of a new full lenght work. With The Crackling Of The Anonymous, Inade move beyond all pre-conceived notions of sonic creativity. The plethora of puzzle pieces that interconnect in the expanding universe that Inade unwaveringly explores have grown amorphous, no longer defined by distinct outlines, melding as one whole, obscure entity. The expansion comes in many levels, incorporating the vast parameters of time, dimension and reality as viable participants in Inade's aural objective: to shine a light on the enigmatic unknown and give it a vague silhouette. The dark and hallucinatory masterwork that is The Crackling Of The Anonymous, is constructed via the never heard utterances of the void, while tapping into the psyche of the impossible. A stunning release that defies all logic because it creates its own! [press-release]

MNortham -- "Automnal 2003" -- CD -- €10
2006 and/OAR, and/23
Highly indicative of the nomadic life that international sound artist Michael Northam has come to know over the past 5 or so years, this release represents a sonic recollection of his life dispersed across a vast geography, pinpointing three specific locations and moments from his long journey: Glacier du Trient (Switzerland / France), Eagle Creek (Indianapolis), Ils Grosbois (Montreal). At times, this hypnotic release presents meditative, invigorating, and eerie translations of places and experiences in ways that only Northam can poetically convey. Originally dispersed among friends in 2003, as a limited edition "spontaneous document" CDR, this work is now re-issued on CD so it can finally be enjoyed by more people. And deservedly so. Never Known -- "Once in a Lifetime" -- CD-R -- €10
2007 Afe Records, afe014rcd
Never Known is the earliest music project of Andrea Marutti, best known as Amon and as Afe label owner. Andrea began his experiments with music in the early '90s using tapes and concrete elements. A few years later he also began to use synthesizers, samplers and other electronic devices, and founded the Lips Vago Digital Studio. Several releases of Ambient / Dark Ambient music were published by labels such as Eibon Records, Amplexus, Drone Records, Taalem, etc. on CD and other medias. Following "Dawn of an Era", "Once in a lifetime" was Never Known's second release. Recorded between August 1994 and August 1995, it was published by Murder Release as a C46 tape in September 1995. The tape was subsequently re-released on CD-R by Afe in March 1999. For this new edition, all tracks were remastered from the original tapes by the author in March 2007 at Lips Vago Digital Studio. The album consists of ten short ambient numbers mostly created with poor equipment which included several tape recorders, cheap microphones and objects. Basic synthesizers lines were subsequently added to some of the tracks. [label info]

Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio -- "ONANI" -- CD -- €15
2009 Cold Meat Industry, cmi191
Post Scriptvm -- "Marginal Existence" -- CD -- €15
2005 Hermetique, H-CD04, (ltd. 500)
A sound work on its own. An extremely dark one. Some sort of contemplative mirror of a sick society. It is without artifice that this American project hailing from New-York (Brooklyn) unveils us a neat and unhealthy piece of sound work of an incredible intrinsic maturity. A now mad and rabid, now suffocating atmosphere. The thread seems uncertain and lures the listener into a cruel maze with no exit. Here each sound is disembodied, jammed and torn out. Is this reality or is it fiction? On edge. Existence is a painful last resort. A desperate move. In search of one's own body, of one's own destiny. The journey is a dangerous and solitary one. Putrefied flesh, fleshless and revengeful spectres. Clockwork is irremediably running towards its last turn. Paralyzing. Like a trepan, Post-Scriptvm goes deeply into the unutterable side of our mind and of our sensitivity. A journey with no safe return guarantee and a possible dead end as an outlet in a pitiless and disjointed pipe dream like scenery. In the heart of the senses and of the emotion. The search for the past, for history and for existence lies in the fact of digging the earth among rubble and muddy bones in order to rebuild this macabre and moribund puzzle of our human life ad infinitum. A unique masterpiece incarnating an open-heart operative field, a brain surgery of the last chance during which a general anaesthesia is proscribed. Mastered by Jerome Nougaillon (Propergol), it comes in special envelope with inserts and is limited to 500 copies. [label info]
Post Scriptvm -- "Raspad" -- CD -- €14
2007 Tesco Organisation, TESCO 066
Raspad is Russian for disintegration. This is the third full length album by Post Scriptvm. It was mastered by Jerome Nougaillon (Propergol). Dense, thickly-layered industrial ambient music, exploring the abysmal pathology of modernity - illusion of progress, dissolution of memory, abandonment of higher meaning and paralysis of the will. The advanced lethargy of human spirit. Rich structure of music plays subtle tricks on the listener's subconsciousness, and the mood slowly drifts from quiet melancholy to visceral intensity. An example on how to use analog and digital equipment in creating a special way of sound, a brilliant example of innovative music outstanding form the mass of releases. [label info]
Propergol -- "Program Vengeance" -- CD -- €12
Malignant Records, Tumor CD 21
Finally, Propergol's 5th CD has been born …with a vengeance. Program Vengeamce continues in the great tradition set forth by previous works, this time offering up 17 tracks totaling 71 minutes of sonic turbulence. Like being in the mind of a schizophrenic moments before the killing spree…the voices growing, the hallucinations building to maniacal levels, the inner chaos too much to bear…until, finally, an eruption. A recording that's full of sensoryoverload, with the levels pushed to extremes, the noise ultra saturated, the atmospheres menacing and combustible, and the obsessive rhythms full of beautiful distortion and aggression. In the end, a sense of anguish, a feeling of despair…a mind locked away to contemplate it's actions. As always, sample heavy, but an integral part of the power that is Propergol, and adding to the sense of madness and pandemonium that permeates this release. [press-release]
Reptiljan / Ibrahim Terzic -- "Pangrenade / Yuck Brij" -- 7" -- €6
2004 Some Place Else, SPE7SP03028, (ltd. 300)
Reptiljan is Niko Skorpio in his most energetic to date, creating sparkling electronica wherein everything from noise to breaks and glitch to exreme metal meet and explode. On this 7", Pangrenade looks for the point where grindcore and noise become one through violent digital treatments. On the other side, Ibrahim Terzic examines the beauty within the ugly. Yuck Brij shows Terzic pushing his unique style a few steps further with mind-piercing screeches, manifold rhythms and mutating melodies. Those who witnessed his amazing gig at Avanto Festival, Finland know that this cannot be missed! [label info]

Spiritual Front -- "Armageddon Gigolo" -- CD -- €14
Trisol, TRI272CD
With fervent ballads combining "Mafia-folk", Nick Cave and Ennio Morricone - refined with a shot of Rock'n'Roll-Spirit - the Italian project SPIRITUAL FRONT along with their likeable singer Simone Salvatori have nestled cozily among different styles of music. What once started as a mixture of acoustic pop and free-style folk has soon turned out to be a charismatic live act and is just about to astonish the music business with their highly exceptional vision of Suicide Pop. Supported by the musicians of the Ennio Morricone Orchestra, the new album skillfully combines Western and Gangster film atmosphere and the aura of great entertainers which melt into a genuine, post-modern mixture. The result is music for the anarchistic youth of the future inspired by the spirit of the past. Vibrating guitar riffs, pointed piano chords, devoted strings and a subtle acoustic guitar support expressive English vocals which bewail the grievances of Machismo who is caught between an overwhelming drive for freedom and a romantic desire for eternity. This album definitely is a straight tip for all Bad Boys & Girls out there, for anarchistic rebels - and machos with a tender heart. Love and suffer with SPRITUAL FRONT. [label info]

Sturmpercht -- "Sürm ins Leben Wild Hinein!" -- CD -- €31
2007 Percht, Percht02, (ltd. 500)
Due to many requests for a digital version of the first Sturmpercht LP, we decided to rerelease this obscure pearl of Alpine-Folkmusic on CD now. The CD is limited to 500 copies and it comes in the same wooden artwork than the LP-version (only smaller: 15 x 16cm) and it's digitally remastered. This album is pure weird Alpine-Folk music with martial drinking-songs, alpine battle-hymns and strange fairie-tales out from the deepest Austrian and Bavarian forests, all embedded in a breath of black Monty Python humour. Telepherique + Bianchi, Maurizio -- "Zehn Tage (Touka)" -- CD -- €10
2004 AFE Records, afe059cd
Experimental. "Zehn Tage (Touka)" is a very special work born from the great friendship of two well-known estabilshed artists. The album concept is focused on the uselessness of time calculation compared to the precision of time itself. The disc title ("Ten Days", in english) refers and is dedicated to those forgotten days of History that were arbitrariously severed off in October 1582 during the Pope Gregorius XIII's Western Calendar Reformation. "Zehn Tage (Touka)" could be described best as a good mixture of Ambient and Concrete music: as in the best Afe record's tradition, it's not afraid of breaking down those genre boundaries, sliding further into psychedelic-tinged rhytmical territories. This is the very first collaboration in Maurizio Bianchi's rather long musical career and also the first Afe CD release... [label info]

Tollefson, David -- "New Eyes on the Universe" -- CD -- €10
1998 Hypnos, hyp1805
Recorded in 1997, this CD features 61 minutes of treated guitars, processed with such extremism that their original nature is quite oblique. This ambient music takes a distinctly philosophical look at our physical continuum. The ambience here is a shade grittier, with a seething intensity that often supersedes the tranquillity... True Colour Of Blood -- "The Significance Of Secrecy" -- CD-R -- €10
2001 AFE Records, afe032lcd, (ltd. 250)
Once again, it’s time to take your musical pre- (and mis-) conceptions and check them at the door. Form, melody, rhythm, chords: these words represent nothing but rules, barriers and walls which only serve to limit the places where "music" can exist or reach towards. True Colour Of Blood couldn't care less about anyone's predetermined ideas about what music is or should be. Eric Kesner’s music can best be described as "Ambient" or “Dark Ambient”, but he manage to break even the rules (if there are any such thing) of this genre by making his music with only guitars instead of the usual array of synths and samplers… Highly recommended. Turbund Sturmwerk -- "s/t" -- CD -- €14
2003 Loki Foundation, LOKI 36
Finally, after nearly 8 years this sensational album is returned to the homeland, manifesting once more the piercing effect of Turbund Sturmwerk. 6 stormy compositions--beautiful and poignant--linking the subtle concept with innovative sounds and arrangements. With this first album, a collection of tracks was compiled seeking independence and continuity of a musical style - Neurosemiotic Marching Tunes at it's best. This masterpiece is a milestone of the post-industrial culture and affected the scene world-wide. The recordings were digitally revised and enhanced, so that they radiate now in a clean, insidiously pristine new light. Turbund Sturmwerk polarize calculated, set gauges and create music like a functional text - acoustic information as sophisticated reading. This introductory work is the often referenced catalyst within the Turbund Sturmwerk catalogue, bent on changing the expectations of the listeners, altering the norm and creating a manifesto for things to come. Digipack. [press-release]

Velehentor -- "From The Gloom of Graves: Stonewells of Aeternity" -- CD -- €11
2008 Desolate Catacombs of SMERSH, SMERSH02, (ltd. 460)
Classic dark ambient: cold echoes of the unknown rituals, roaming in te utter darkness of resonant stone labyrynths. Paranoiac trance induced by the feeling of lifeless presence in the anscient crypts, breathing with deadly dampness. Icy calmness of indifferent doom. The album was recorded in winter 1999-2000. Packed in an absolutely black digipak (double-sided print, double black paint), the pictures are applied with varnish. [label info]
Vortex -- "Phanopoeia" -- CD -- €14
2008 Tesco Organisation, TESCO 074
The German ritual drone project Vortex is dedicated to the British art movement of Vorticism of the early Twentieth Century (1913-1920). Founded as an own vision of Futurism by Wyndham Lewis and expressed in the legendary magazine Blast (1914) Vorticism defined the artist as someone gaining creative power and inspiration out of the chaotic vortex of creative energy. The name was introduced by the Vorticist protagonist Ezra Pound who also coined the phrase 'phanopoeia': the idea of creating poetry for all senses. The music of Vortex pays audiovisual homage to the great Vorticist art. Psychedelic drones, ritual drums, processed sounds, glimpses of acoustic harmony, and original sound documents are blended to grant a holistic sensory experience. Vortex, the solo-project of a :Golgatha:-member, transcends the limits of dark ambient soundtracks on a quest for the unknown. Vortex is pure psychoactive energy. [press release]
